Bigfoot Society - From Australia to Appalachia: Chilling Bigfoot Encounters Caught Live

Episode Date: February 5, 2026

In this episode, we journey across continents and into some of the most remote corners of Bigfoot territory, beginning in Queensland, Australia, where a member of the Kabi people shares a deeply perso...nal experience tied to a sacred site along the Mary River. Camping beneath the stars near the mysterious “Gimpy Pyramid,” he recounts a night that left him shaken and forever changed, offering rare insight into Indigenous traditions surrounding the Hairy Man.We then travel to the Appalachian foothills of Eastern Kentucky, where a seasoned hunter describes a sound he heard before sunrise—something so unnatural it kept him frozen in his tree stand for hours. From there, the trail leads into rural Georgia near Thomaston, where a massive figure is seen crossing a narrow road near an old pig processing facility, an encounter later echoed by unsettling reports from the surrounding hills. The episode closes in the lowcountry of South Carolina, near the floodplains of the Cooper River and the edges of Francis Marion National Forest, where a long-haul truck driver comes face to face with something towering and unmistakably not human.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. Dialing in from Australia. How are you?
Starting point is 00:00:35 Oh, hey, good to talk to you. You got some wild stuff over there. My brother, I just wanted to let you know if I'm vague at times, please don't think I'm being vague. I'm happy to talk to you privately. But this is, I'd like to just give you some of my experiences, which is from an Aboriginal point of view and some of the beliefs we have, if that's okay with you, brother. I would love that. Yeah, go right ahead.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Okay, just a quick bit of background. My name's Gilberry Faye. We are the Karby people of the Mary River, which is in Queensland, Australia. We were four years ago, five years ago now, we were trying to protect the sacred side of ours. It's known on the internet as the Gympi Pyramid, but we call it Jackie Kundu. Now, I've known about this place for a long time. I'm pretty sure you'd know my brother, the great man, Graham Hancock. That's your brother?
Starting point is 00:01:32 Oh, no, not my brother, but he came and visited our site. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, no, I know of Graham. Yeah, he came and visited us in 2020, and he was just amazed at what he saw. And I got to spend three days with Graham, which was fantastic. That's a side note, brother. So we now fast forward to 2021.
Starting point is 00:01:56 It's the first time I'm actually camping, because we set up a camp, there to protect our site. And I'm camping for the first night there, brother. It's about, actually it was the third night I was at camp. I had gone to bed, gone in my 10 early. It was about 11 p.m. And I was drifting, drifting into sleep. And then I had, this is the feeling how I'll explain it.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Something grabbed me violently by the throat. It was choking me. And I'm being lifted up. I'm being lifted up. I'm terrified. And then he stopped. stops and slowly, gently puts me down like a baby. I sat up, woke up, screamed out, help me, help me,
Starting point is 00:02:42 and then thought, oh, everyone in the camp's gonna think you've lost your mind. Brother, I just wanna say that that was an entity, one of our protecting this site. And when he grabbed me, he was basically picking me up to say, who are you, then recognize me, recognize my bloodline, my ancestor, and put me down. But that same night, two other women who were visiting the camp had a pressing down
Starting point is 00:03:10 on their chest experience. And they got up and they left. One of them left at three in the morning. So I think you understand. Is it okay if I don't go too, I hope that was all right to share, brother. I just don't want to give too much out or sound too mental either. Well, so I would say you're in the right place to share whatever you would want to share and don't feel like it's over here. Some people, I feel crazy saying this.
Starting point is 00:03:39 This is an area where you can be safe saying whatever you would need to. So that's not an issue, but it's whatever you feel comfortable as well doing is mainly the main thing. I appreciate that, brother, because I have been watching you, but I haven't spent enough. time with with your podcast so I plan to do that brother and I really thank you for um for letting me come up and and say that I really do man it's it's a it's a wild story and it sounds similar to some things we experience over here as well you know sometimes people are out in their tents and they will feel like they've been poked through the side of the tent or a hand palms their head And so do you think this may have been related to Yaui's in the area or something more of a spirit type thing?
Starting point is 00:04:33 Well, let me just say this. We have a name in our language for him, which I probably won't use today, but the nickname for him is a hairy man. Now, the hairy man can be very tall, but he can also be very short. He can vary from, his story varies from different mobs. We've got a lot of different mobs here, brother. we got think of it like uh uh europe with many different countries we had over 500 language groups before the boats arrived back in 1788 um i'm sorry i forgot what the question was brother on it's three in the morning him a little bit i was going to say it's got to be it's got to be early for you
Starting point is 00:05:15 so do you think in your in your opinion do you think it was uh and i want to be careful what terminology I used to, but I think Yao is okay to say. Do you think it could have been related to that? Yeah, I mean, well, look, that's what is commonly out there on the internet. But I knew, we know exactly what he was, why he was there. He was there to protect that particular area of sacred site, brother. It is on the internet, the Gympie Pyramid. And that's why I thought I'd mentioned when Graham visited it, he was absolutely blown away.
Starting point is 00:05:52 It hasn't made it into ancient apocalypse yet, but hopefully by season three. Right, yeah, exactly. I forgot to tell you, the government ended up destroying that sacred site, so that's a bit of a sad, sad end to that story. But, yeah, my brother. Wow, what, I appreciate you coming up and still sharing your story with us, and I hope that the rest of the area might have a better ending than the pyramid did. Yes, brother, we're always fighting and if ever you want to have a yarn privately, I'd love to
Starting point is 00:06:30 tell you some of the things I haven't said publicly just to, you know, if it's of interest to you, I know you're a busy, busy fella. You're doing very well, brother. Very popular, which is great. I think you're doing a great job, man. Thank you. I appreciate that. You can always send me an email at bigfoot society at gmail.com and I'd feel free to share anything
Starting point is 00:06:52 you would like too off record there. That's fine. All right, brother. I'll maybe talk to you one day soon. Thanks, man. All right. Thank you, sir. You have a good one. Man, I always love when our Australian friends get on. Even though it's 3 a.m. over there, they always have fantastic stories to share. Brother, great. Good. How are you, Bryson? Man, I'm doing great.
Starting point is 00:07:23 All right, Bryson. Well, feel free to share why you came up. the reason why I was kind of hesitant is because I'm not exactly sure what it was. I'm a big hunter. I know a lot of these stories kind of start from that. But I think about two November's ago, I was out in kind of the Appalachian part of Kentucky, which I don't know if there's a lot of sightings out here or not. I haven't heard of it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Oh, yeah. But I was going after white-tailed deer. It was gun season, of course. Well, it was about five, six in the morning. The sun was kind of starting to crest, but, and I was up in a, up at a deer stand. And I had a couple cameras around the area that was showing movement a couple days prior. And it was deer. It was reason why I was out there.
Starting point is 00:08:28 But I had a pretty powerful scope on my rival. And I just waited for, I'd say, two, three hours, didn't hear a thing. But then I heard probably, like, I'm getting chills. I've never heard what I heard before in my entire life, not on YouTube. not in person. Whatever it was, it was not an animal that I'd ever heard before. It sounded like a deep, scratchy scream almost. It wasn't any kind of mating call of anything that I've ever heard.
Starting point is 00:09:13 And I hang a lot scared the bejesus out of me. Like I didn't want to get down. So it gets scared me so bad. I sat in that tree stand for, think, 11 more hours until, like, I was able to get down. And when I finally got down, I felt like I was being watched. Like I said, I don't know if this counts as a Bigfoot story. But, man, I told that story a million times to people, and I will never be able to explain it. I think it counts.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I mean, you know what things sound like. there in the woods I mean yeah I mean I've been since I was a kid with my know of course my grandpa my parents and I I know what they don't like and it's nothing like I've ever heard so is and you don't have to get super specific because I understand hunting can be a thing where you don't want to give stuff away but would so Appalachia Kentucky would this be eastern Kentucky yeah yeah so it's it's more eastern I think the Appalachian Mountains run from eastern Tennessee Tennessee through a little bit east of Kentucky and going northward. I say the Appalachian Mountains
Starting point is 00:10:31 because I was in it, but I wasn't like deep. Okay. But I was definitely in them. So a few things for you. So you can kind of take a look and see if the area you were in is an active area. So I have, if you go to Bigfoot Societypodcast.com, there's a siting map and you can see marks for where I've talked to people from like Daniel Boone National Forest or Hazard County or all over. And then if you really want to get specific about Kentucky Bigfoot, there's this guy named Charlie Raymond who has a research organization and he's just got so much info about Bigfoot sightings in the state of Kentucky. So I'd recommend checking that out. It's KBRO is the name of his organization, but that will be a lot of really good
Starting point is 00:11:25 info for you if you're wanting to dig deeper into this. Well, I really appreciate that. And I mean, and I do have a question because you seem like very, very knowledgeable on the topic. If this thing is real, if there's something out there of the variation of a Bigfoot, why is it so hard to capture? Why? I mean, it's got to be smart. It means it's got to be something that unlike that we know exists. How, with all of our technology, how is it so hard to prove? So, yeah, it's a great question. And it's a lot, it's one of those where it's like, it's hard to explain until we actually
Starting point is 00:12:01 get to study it. But for example, like, it's the question why, why is it where someone hears it and then someone gets to start a recorder up and then it stops making the noise? Or why is it where you've got to? game cameras out and you never get them on the game camera. Some people think they have a way of knowing when electricity is present or when IR is present in game cams. Even so that a lot of people that are in really active Bigfoot spots will report that their battery power devices will go dead extremely quick. you know they'll go from 100% down to zero and that's happened to me out in
Starting point is 00:12:50 Oregon. I know people that have had their car batteries go dead over and over in these areas where there's tons of sightings that occurs. So there is one of the fields where there's more questions than there are answers at this time. But you know, I think you're exactly right. It's like a good question to ask is why is it so hard to capture them? Because they are so, so smart. I mean, um, the, the more you look into it, the weirder it will get and just be prepared for that. All right. And what did you say your podcast name was? I'm not to check it out. Yeah, it's called Bigfoot Society. You can find it on YouTube or wherever you listen to audio
Starting point is 00:13:30 podcasts. Okay. All right. All right. I really appreciate it. Thank you. All right. Thanks, Brian. Thanks, Bryson. Good stuff. Good stuff. Bryson sounds like a cool dude. Hi, how are you? Doing fine. I'm about yourself. Hey, great, great. Of course, my wrestling name, I jump on real quick. And I wanted to tell you about an experience I had when I was 17 years old with me and my sister. In Georgia, that's about 60 miles south of Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:14:20 And we were heading to a friend's house. And as we turned on this road to the right, there is one of these little runoff bridges that was basically, just made out of a wood that hasn't been redone in years. I guess you know what I'm talking about. The little creek. And my sister threw a fence and said, I don't want to go up for this bridge. And I was like, so I was beginning to back up.
Starting point is 00:14:55 And that old Ford truck I had had a problem with sticking sometimes. And that old 68 Ford I had. So basically what happened after, she turned around and said, look, this little bridge is, there's a bunch of brush. to the left. Come across that road that was so big, it's hard to explain how large this, whatever bang was.
Starting point is 00:15:28 And it took about two and a half steps, and it was already across the road. As I look at my sister, my sister turns around, looked at me, and I was like, this is creepy. You know, I said,
Starting point is 00:15:43 did you see that? She said, yeah, what was it? I said, I don't know, but it looked like something like a big foot type thing. I don't know what it was. The right-hand side going up the hill is a pig-slaughtering factory up there where they go ahead and slaughter the pigs and do the bacon and all that stuff and sell them. It was called York's Big Factory.
Starting point is 00:16:11 So are you able to hear me? It's getting a little rough. I don't know what's going on in the background there. Yeah, I don't know either. But anyway, I realize that the pig factory was up there on the... So we went home and told my father had told me that several times in the last 10 years, there has been several sightings of something like that. And I was like, oh, really? And I was like, that's the first time I had ever heard about it.
Starting point is 00:16:50 A friend of mine had told me that up there at that pig slaughter in factory that they would see something every once in a while in the back part of the woods. And that was in the back side of where this pig slaughter in factory was at. Now, I haven't seen anything since then, thank God. But, you know, it's a little eerie when you see something like that come across the street. But we've seen it with, we've seen it with our eyes. And like I said, we were scared to death. We went back home and told our dad. That is extremely wild.
Starting point is 00:17:28 That area is extremely active. I do appreciate taking the time to talk to me. Yeah, absolutely real quick. So that area. If you look up Angie Williamson, she is researching that area, and she knows a lot about that area of Georgia. So I'd look into that individual. Right. And middle Georgia, now above that is called Hagen's Mountain.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Now, Hagen's Mountain has this big poodah about the Indian people up here that's buried. Now, we are famous about having what we call a voodoo doctor, I guess. guess you want to say back in the late 1800s. They said there's a lot of sightings of a lot of weird stuff up over on Hagen's Mountain. And it's been saying several times they've seen a Bigfoot there several times. I'll have to look into that. Thank you for that info.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Yes, sir. No problem. All right. Good to see you. Good stuff. Good stuff. Talking with big steel. I love it.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Hey, Johnny. Hey, how are you doing, sir? Yeah, I talked to you yesterday. Yeah, I remember that. Falk Monster and all that. But I definitely want to check out your podcast. I've already shared my story. I guess I had a couple questions because you intrigued me with some of the things that you have a lot of knowledge, apparently, about this.
Starting point is 00:19:11 There's two things I wanted to ask you very quickly. I don't want to take up a lot of time. Number one, apparently there's not a lot of stories about Bigfoot harming. human beings, correct? There are, so the closest that usually gets to is when they try to get inside the house. Right. And they start breaking windows and stuff. So like a famous one you can look up is Honabi, Oklahoma in around like 2001.
Starting point is 00:19:51 And where pretty much they were storing deer in refrigerators on their porch of the cabin. The bigfoot kept coming and getting the deer meat and then they started to get inside the house or trying to. And so the men of the house used their instruments and ended up taking one out. And then the other Bigfoot actually took it into the woods and then across the street and a truck, a trailer or a truck driver who was going by saw them cross the road carrying the one who was, you know. And then, yeah, so that's the one that comes of mind. But you don't hear a lot of stories about people getting really, really hurt.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Because I think if that happens, you're not going to hear those stories. Okay. That's interesting. So you're saying that one of them was taken out and then the other took it off. So there was no evidence of like, I mean, obviously there wasn't any remains there. There was one, so some investigators went down there, I believe they found some blood. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Leaves around the area.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Yeah. Yeah. That brings up all kind of questions right there if they've tested blood and DNA. Oh, it does. DNA. The second thing I wanted to ask you is because I'm very interested, because I like the way you carry yourself and actually deliver this, you know, this live and the podcast. I want to check out your podcast.
Starting point is 00:21:27 But I was just curious if you could share with me because I'm hearing all these other people that have experiences. Do you have a story that you could share with me? Oh, like stuff I've gone through. Have you ever had? Yeah, I count. Yeah. Oh, no, I absolutely have.
Starting point is 00:21:49 So about three years ago, I started going out differently. No, I would go to a place in Iowa, I'll say, where there's a lot of activity. And, you know, I have experienced, I've been wooked at tree knocks. There's been trees been pushed over. There's something that has walked around my tent at 3 a.m. And then I've went to Oregon a few times. And, I mean, we've been roared and screamed at out in the woods, like 30 miles. I found a handprint with an old researcher.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Found a footprints. And then Cliff Berkman took a look at him. He's like, yeah, it's legit. And the weirdest thing that's happened yet is I was out there this last July and out with some guys from the area. And I went out in the woods a little bit. And then I was like, hey, if there's anything out here, can you make a noise? right and a half second later
Starting point is 00:22:51 I heard three wood knocks from about 20 feet deeper into the woods and I was like oh my goodness no way and so I tried it again and the same thing happened dude
Starting point is 00:23:03 and I was like you know I'm out of here I was like I gotta get back to the group and every day since then I'm like what would have happened if I had just gone 20 feet into the woods what I've found you know and it was not a woodpe
Starting point is 00:23:18 not a woodpecker at all is that what it sounds like no no but a lot of people that are like they're like oh that was just a woodpecker no if you've heard a woodpecker you know the difference between that and someone who is actually you know hitting something on a tree or something of that nature it sounds completely different when you say it's a as a pattern using wood to knock the tree or are they knocking or what is a what does that sound like yeah so in the community community, most people will think it's a way of communication back and forth. So half the people think that they're actually taking a piece of wood and they're hitting it
Starting point is 00:24:01 against a tree. But logically, you have to think is one always going to be within reach of a tree and something to hit on the tree? So a lot of people think they actually make that sound with their mouths. Some people can actually replicate it by putting their hands together in front of their open mouth. And that's just a human. Or doing like a, sometimes people think that's it. So it's one of those things.
Starting point is 00:24:33 There is a report of a person that actually saw one making the Trenock sound with their hands. I can't remember exactly where that's from. But that's the whole thing about the Trenock. That's very interesting. So another common thing real quickly, and then I'll go. I've noticed several people talk about a scream. And that's kind of what I heard on the Boggy Creek back in the 80s. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Exactly. The scream that you can't correlate with anything you've ever heard before. And I grew up in the woods too, like the other gentleman who was talking about hunting. it was it was something that was foreign to me what have you heard and then I'll go but what have you heard about the scream like what did it sound like or how did they so
Starting point is 00:25:33 this is a fun one because it's something I actually heard myself and the way it affected me I find it hard to describe because pretty much I started to shut down it freaked me out and felt the blood rushed down from my head to my feet. It was just, it's something I've never heard before. It was a real primal response and it freaked me out real bad.
Starting point is 00:26:03 A lot of people that can describe it will usually say it sounded like multiple animals together at the same time. Something like a chimpanzee slash elephant trumpet slash lion type roll. And if you, there's some people where they've actually looked into recordings that have been made. And I think thinker thinker-thunker on YouTube is one of these guys where it almost looks like there's multiple sounds being made at the same time. And so then the question is, okay, do they have special vocal cords that allows them to do this? Because it is, it's a very, very strange thing. So it's, again, every time you ask a question, there's like 10 more questions that come off. right yeah it's really really weird stuff well thank thanks for having me on brother
Starting point is 00:26:53 absolutely I'll check out your podcast all right man all right thank you sir you have a good one take care hi there how are you hey how's it going bud my name's Chris hey doing good yeah I'm a long haul truck driver for about 10 years now and I just had a little incident I wanted to share because to this day I'm still a little bit really don't know how to explain it but this was back in February 2021 and I drive flatbed truck so the one that calls the big steel coils and stuff like that from Canada down to east coast of the United States and Carolina, Virginia, sometimes Florida and stuff like that. So my story is back in February 2021.
Starting point is 00:27:49 I had a delivery to do from up there in Canada, Ontario, Canada going down to a city called Huger in South Carolina. So long story short, I got the delivery to do is on the way down there. I started getting close to Hugar, the new core steel plant down there in Huger, South Carolina and at the time I didn't have a trucker GPS so what had happened is I was using Google Maps and if you ever use Google Maps before sometimes it'll it'll try to save you two minutes or something and take you off the you know the easy route to save two minutes or something like that and so what it happened was I wasn't paying
Starting point is 00:28:40 attention to the GPS too much and I didn't realize it had it had rerouted me off the main highway there down to some back roads headed into uh huger south carolina and uh so it took me uh down these back roads nearby what is uh known as the francis merri and national forest and uh as i was going down there they got a river down there and nearby the on the edge of the the national forest there it's called the cooper river and so uh that time a year it happened to have been flooded up the river had flooded the the surrounding woodlands with the water coming up to the edge of the road and uh i was carrying about 70 000 pounds so i had to watch the edge of this uh this back road i was on because uh if i would have veered off a
Starting point is 00:29:33 little bit to the side i could the trailer could have flipped because it's so hadn't and so uh it just so happened after i passed over the the cooper river there got onto dr evans road there's a little stretch of woods there that was on the passenger side that was all flooded out like I said and I was trying to finesse it through there and take it a little bit slow just to make sure like I said I didn't veer off into the shoulder and as I glanced out my passenger window I've seen this thing standing there had to been at least eight to ten feet tall standing there resting his is his arm on a broken over tree and it's just standing in the water it's just standing the water it stares at me I locked eyes with it and I saw details of it like it had a had shaggy hair kind of like hanging down like over like kind of partially over its eyes and stuff and then it had like the arms were were a little bit long
Starting point is 00:30:39 longer than what you know obviously a human has and it had a Scraggelly kind of like if you ever seen a dog that had been out in the woods for a long time or something like scraggily matted hair kind of like hanging down off of his arm that was You could notice it was very apparent and it had a grayish grayish brown type of tone skin over what you could see of its face and it this chest was very defined like a barrel barrel shaped chest with very muscle type of you could see its pectoral muscles and its abdomen looked like it was extremely strong and uh so i seen it and i actually looked there as i was able to see its eyes through the the straggly hair hanging over its face to an extent and i drove past it maybe about a hundred
Starting point is 00:31:34 feet and i said because i didn't know what i was seeing at the time i didn't even realize what the hell it was and so then after I got about a hundred feet down the road I said wait a second you know what I think that's one of those I think that's one of those Sasquatch things they thought everybody say they're real you know and so then I stopped the truck I said you know what let me go ahead and try to take a photo with this thing and then I realized I'm like oh man if you start if the truck gets stuck in that shoulder you're gonna have a problem because you'll be right next to it.
Starting point is 00:32:12 And then I'm all over it for a second. I said, should I back up or no? And then I got a real strong gut feeling not to go back. Don't try to reverse it because if you ever had one of those real strong type of gut feelings where, like, I don't know, it's like an instinct, you know, a real strong gut instinct. So we don't go back. Just keep going.
Starting point is 00:32:36 And if whoever believes you, they believe you.
