Bigfoot Society - He Spent One Night Alone Here. He Won't Go Back.

Episode Date: September 11, 2026

Mike Wanders has spent years traveling alone into some of North America’s most remote wilderness, searching the places where Sasquatch reports refuse to disappear. In this episode, Mike joins Bigfoot... Society to share what happened during his expeditions into Vancouver Island, Bluff Creek, Mt. Hood, Prince of Wales Island, the Hockomock Swamp, and other legendary locations.Deep in Clayoquot Sound, a water taxi left Mike alone beside an abandoned cabin surrounded by old-growth rainforest. As darkness settled over the cove, the atmosphere changed. Hours later, something enormous moved over the treetops.Mike also reveals the one experience he considers his strongest possible Bigfoot activity, including sounds captured on audio in an extraordinarily remote section of Vancouver Island. Then there's Prince of Wales Island, Alaska—where nearly everyone Mike spoke with seemed to have a story. This conversation goes deep into what happens when an experienced wilderness traveler enters some of the most active Sasquatch locations in North America and starts asking one question:What is actually happening out there?Resources:https://www.youtube.com/@mikewanders📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here:https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

Starting point is 00:00:00 I wouldn't go back to that exact spot. Just because, full disclosure, I, like, made a deal with the forest that night. Mike Wonders has spent years going alone into some of the most legendary Bigfoot locations in North America. But on Vancouver Island, he spent one night in a remote cove that scared him enough to make a promise to whatever might have been in those woods. And he says he still won't go back. Today, Mike tells me what happened there along with the one encounter he still can't explain. I'm Jeremiah Byron and this is Bigfoot Society. You have all these different Bigfoot locations you've been to,
Starting point is 00:00:36 but I got to ask you, what is the most freaked out you've been because you were going to so many places that I look at these place names, and I'm just going to go down in real quick, Bluff Creek, Mount St. Helens, Blue Mountain, Nordig, Alberta, Mount Hood, Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Olympics, Ho, Rainforest,
Starting point is 00:00:56 Gifford Pinchot, Vancouver Island. there's some freaky, freaky place. And you're out there by yourself for the most part, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So what's like the most afraid I've been? Saskwashed? Well, the most afraid, I've always said to people, you know, like if Saskwatch is just behaving like you would expect a saskatch to behave, whoops, knocks, kind of ape-like, it's like, okay, that's scary, but it's like, that's kind of what I expect. It's like the spookier stuff that really, really scares me.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Like, I'm, like, afraid of ghosts. I'm afraid of, like, you know, the paranormal stuff. So I think, like, whenever I go out there, like, yes, I'm afraid of Sasquatch, but, like, I'm mostly kind of afraid of people if I'm in, like, a relatively accessible place or I'm afraid of, like, are there ghosts? But, I mean, I was pretty spooked on my first time on Vancouver Island and Clayquot Sound. I don't think I don't even know if that was like Sasquatch related I went out there for Sasquatch and it just ended up being like really a really terrifying night I always said it was
Starting point is 00:02:04 like the most terrifying night I've had that's probably the most terrifying experience I've had in the woods for like weird spooky reasons paranormal whatever it is I throw I throw Sasquatch into that same arena but I've experienced like you know extreme levels of fear because of like grizzly bears and stuff like that backpacking and uh storms and you know fearing that like something's going to go horribly wrong um but i would say you know in my life like i always say clayacuat sound the first time i was there and i had a boat drop me off and i uh that night was just petrifying and it and like it's on paper you know the idea of being dropped off in a remote location where you're going to spend the night alone like that's that should be on that should be an
Starting point is 00:02:50 awesome experience for the most part. That's, that's great. Camping in a remote place, and it's just you in nature, it can be absolutely beautiful. Now, there is sometimes like a tendency for you to freak yourself out, especially if you're hearing all these stories from people going into it, like, don't go to that location or First Nations indigenous cultures being like, well, you can go there, but that's where the Zunaqua lives and she stills children. You know, just all these different things that can kind of put you on edge. So I very much allow. for the possibility that you can get lost in your own head when you go to these locations and easily freak yourself out. But when I went to that spot, it was more than that. It was more than that.
Starting point is 00:03:31 I do this stuff all the time. I go out alone all the time and usually it's incredible. But man, when we pulled into that cove and the water taxi guy dropped me off, he had never been there. He was really excited to just check out this new location. And man, we all felt it. like my wife was on the boat with me. And just because I paid for this water taxi, she wasn't going to spend the night, but she just, I was like, hey, just come for this beautiful boat ride through Clioquat Sound. And then just go back with the boat. So she did that.
Starting point is 00:04:03 And but yeah, when we all pulled in to the cove and just kind of shut off the engine and just kind of cruised in. And man, the loons are going. And it just like, the energy just changed. There was this thickness in the air that, you know, I just overlooked for a while because I was like, all right, you know, this is just, I'm freaked out. I've heard a bunch of scary stories. But like, we all felt it. It was intense.
Starting point is 00:04:26 And the longer the night went on, they dropped me off. And I remember there was like this little rundown cabin that was there that was originally built for good reasons to like protect the old growth in that area. But that was like, I don't know, decades ago. But by the time I saw it, for the first time, it was just run down. Everything is just like there's a big old growth tree that had like fallen. onto the cabin itself and like there's no door on the on the cabin is just wide open and there's like knife slashes through some of like the plastic that's like covering up the windows and and I remember
Starting point is 00:05:01 my wife was like Mike you got to you got to check the inside of that cabin before we leave um because like if there's something that you see in there you know that you don't want to see like there's still a boat and you can get out of here so I'm like fine I'll go check that cabin I just remember like yeah Yeah, yeah. So I remember like, you know, going in there and just, it was, it was the force itself and the area itself was already just thick with dread is the easiest way to explain it. And when I entered the cabin, it was even more so. It just felt terrible in there. And I remember, like, climbing up this really rickety ladder that could have, like, broke at any time. And I, like, peaked my head up above the loft to just, like, make sure there was nothing there. And it just was, like, dark and spooky and cold. feeling and it just felt awful. And I remember thinking like, okay, I'm going to avoid this cabin at all cost. I'm not, I'm not going to go near it. I don't care if it's torrential downpour. I'll deal with the elements. And I've experienced, you know, those moments of like kind of intensity and thick thickness in the air and feeling like there's something there. And then it kind of drifts. It goes
Starting point is 00:06:10 away. And like this night, it never went away. It never went away. It only just kept getting worse and worse and worse and thicker and thicker and thicker. And as the night got dark, yeah, the feeling just became intense. And I was in, I was smack dab in some really, really thick old growth rainforest. And these are like humongous, just big old growth trees and just thick, thick vegetation. So you really can't see too far. I had a fire going. And yeah, as it got darker, It just got, it just, it, I was like, I was, I just knew that there was something there. I don't know what it was, but I just knew that there was something there. It got dark and then, you know, controversially, I say controversial because I don't know,
Starting point is 00:06:57 people give me crap about it. And I would give me crap about it too if I wasn't there. But, but something like there was a big wind disturbance that like went low over the tops of the trees and continued past me. out to see in a very like straight mechanical like trajectory. And and then nothing and then it was silence. It's like to me it almost sounded like what you would expect a humongous drone to sound like if the drone wasn't making any noise whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:07:31 And I, you know, when things happen like that to me, when I'm alone, I am so quick, that defense mechanism goes goes off and I am so quick to try. and disprove something, just say, oh, that was this. I'm okay. You always want to convince yourself that you're okay in the moment. And I would have done anything to convince myself that that was a bird, that that was an owl, that that was a great blue heron, and all the things that people tell me that hear,
Starting point is 00:08:00 I've heard 100 great blue herons, which is the biggest wingspan out there. I've heard all that stuff. There was no wing flap. There was no swooping from tree to tree. Like it was going for a while. It came from, sadly, the direction of the cabin over my head. and then pass me and then out to see.
Starting point is 00:08:15 And then it was just nothing. And I remember just sitting in that darkness for like the next 10 hours as the feeling that there was something with me. Like it just became more and more intense. And you know, I didn't have like a canoe. I didn't have anything that even if something did go down. I still had the fear that there was maybe a recluse like hiding out here who maybe like lives in that cabin.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I was really afraid that like maybe there was someone. you know, if they wanted to try and get away from society. I remember I saw like a broken zip tie on the ground, which I wasn't a fan of. But I mean, of course, you know, that could just, you know, if someone's camping out there, but they could have used it for that reason. There's so many reasons to see a zip tie, but it just, it was just, you know, I was, by this point,
Starting point is 00:09:02 I had lost control of my mental toughness, I think. And I was spiraling. And I was really concerned about like a UFO. Oh, I really like, in my mind, I was like, okay, like sadly, that was not a bird. That was not a bird. That thing was huge. If it was bird like, it was teradactal. And it never, it never flapped its wings.
Starting point is 00:09:25 And I was like literally concerned that I was like, oh, no, the UFO bigfoot people are right. You know, like it's like, is there something? They were right. But yeah, that was a scary night for me. I was, I was, I, I, I, I, I thought at any moment I was going to just see something like looking at me from behind. Oh my goodness. Behind a tree or something. And I, I was totally in my head.
Starting point is 00:09:50 And I was too afraid to go in the tent. I remember. It was like that Blair Witch line, best line of Blair Witch Project, by the way, where she's like, she says something along the lines of, uh, she's like, I'm too afraid to open my eyes and I'm too afraid to close them. Uh, like I was, I was too afraid to go in the tent because, because I wanted to see if anything, approached because I felt like there was something there. But then at the same time, I did not want to see if anything approached, you know, because I was just so, I was so afraid. Anyway, that night.
Starting point is 00:10:22 That's that's tonight. Okay. So I've been, I've done a few of these. And so got to the point where if Spidey Sense starts going wild when it comes to talk. So are you opposed if I was to do a little prayer real quick? Is that okay? Go for.
Starting point is 00:10:40 All right, cool. Let's do it. All right, dear God, thank you for this conversation we are having about to have. And please keep us safe. Keep all listeners safe. Bind any demonic activity. Bind the devil. And through the name of Jesus and your name amen.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Thank you. Amen. Have you ever experienced being out in an area and, well, let's say, have you ever experienced a light? out the woods at all? Lights. Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, like just balls of light.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Yeah. Really? I've never seen, I've never seen a, well, actually, when I was really young, before I was doing any of the YouTube stuff in the Hock Mock Swamp, we were, I was, I was, I was, like, I was on that ATV trail I was talking about. And I just saw, like, balls of light crossing the trail in front of me. And I, I wish it was crazy, because I remember, like, Googling back then the Hock Mawkswomp and all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:42 And one of the main reports were balls of light orbs, specifically right there behind the Greyhound Dog Track. There was like an old dog track there. And that's exactly where I was. I was exactly behind the dog track heading into the Hock Mwock Swamp. And there were balls of light going back and forth. And I didn't think much of it. I almost to a fault either just, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:12:10 know kind of pooh certain things and and and and and try to immediately find an explanation. Sometimes it's good. I think sometimes it's almost bad because I kind of overdo it sometimes. But yeah, I definitely saw those those balls of light. Something may or may not have just recently happened on Mount Shasta. I can't wait for that to come out. Oh my goodness. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:35 We got to wait and see. Yeah, we got to wait and see. You got to subscribe so you don't. miss it when it comes out. Yeah. So you can all yell at me when when when you're like, oh, you didn't get that. Oh, man. Yikes. I know about a few things that are coming out because you had reached out and you've got some really potentially awesome ones coming out. I can't wait to see yeah, a whole lot going on. Dude, and I really appreciate you reaching out to people, man. And just the fact that like you're one of like four probably total people who somehow has like a connect on Prince of Wales
Starting point is 00:13:09 Island. Like I now understand I now understand like why that is such a hard thing like a hard connect to come across. Oh holy crap. It's like it's like going to Vancouver Island if you were to just remove all the people
Starting point is 00:13:24 and Vancouver Island doesn't have that many people but like there's there's like actual kind of like mini cities that do not exist on Prince of Wales Island. Man you just you land you land in like cloac and it's just a shed you know it's like they call it a terminal you just get off
Starting point is 00:13:45 the plane you have the plane you just like go somebody was like are you mike and i'm like uh yeah and they're like okay here's your car and it was like just some run down car it's not like anything like any place i've ever been and man those yeah they're just tiny little towns cloac is tiny crag the nearby town is is is like a couple couple shops and that's it Craig's a good one too if Thorne Bay is a good one. Thorne Bay. So Thorne Bay, I was, because I mean, as you know, I was kind of winging a lot of my Prince of Wales Island plan. And the last second I kind of pulled together some connects.
Starting point is 00:14:22 And Fred Roll was really helpful with that. Oh, very good. Yeah. And so one of my like plans that I had just kind of said like, all right, I'm going to do this without talking to anybody. I was going to go over to Thorne Bay. And I was able to meet up with the clinket. in Kloak, which was just awesome, because they just, rightfully so, they can keep information to themselves, which I kind of feel like they probably should do. But they were willing to talk to me and share a lot of stories.
Starting point is 00:14:53 And I remember saying, like, oh, I might go to Thorn Bay, just hit up some forestry roads and see what happens. And they were like, well, you know, we've kind of heard that's where the witches are. And I was like, oh, all right, not going there. Yeah, really? Yeah, yeah. Wow. That bailed on that plan. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Interesting. So there you go, listeners. There's Prince of Wales Island is coming on like Wander's channel. It's out in the open, but that's going to be a great one, dude. That is such a, it looks like a beautiful area. Has there been a time, Mike, when you have been on one of these adventures and you've experienced something that you were like, oh, that is 100% I'm experiencing Bigfoot activity? right now or you're 99% only once
Starting point is 00:15:39 only once I feel like in meeting a lot of the Sasquatch enthusiasts throughout the years I feel like there's a lot of times if I had somebody else with me they might be like Sasquatch
Starting point is 00:15:52 but for me man if there's anything else that can be I lean towards the anything else like if there's anything else that can be and I've heard strange noises in Nordegg and trees coming down in Harrison Lake that I wasn't able to record or like a couple other times, just stuff like that that I think like some Sasquatch diehars would be like
Starting point is 00:16:16 Sasquatch. That was Sasquatch, Mike, you're an idiot. But for me, but for me, the one time where I, where it's now been however much time it's been since I uploaded the video and since I experienced this for myself, nobody has had an explanation as to what this was, including myself, I still don't have an explanation.
Starting point is 00:16:39 That was the second time I went out to Vancouver Island and Clayquot Sound with Eric DeSero up on the video is called the Vancouver Island Sasquatch. And at the end of that, yeah, we heard like a clear as day would knock. But it was because of the location that we were in, that it completely, like we had everything crossed off.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Like because of where we were, you rule out people. We were flown into the most remote location on Vancouver Island. If anybody else was anywhere nearby, there would have had to have been a boat anchored. And there was nobody nearby. There were fishermen when we landed, but we watched them, we watched their boat leave the area, like take off. There was nobody up on these mountains. and the wind had completely died off by that point. There was absolutely no wind.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And just by chance, which is like so unlike everything that's ever happened to me, I actually happen to film the moment. Like I film, I'm filming myself talking because I start recording myself talking because we heard some tree limbs being snapped right in front of us. We were kind of in like a bowl, like these big kind of steep mountains on either side, like an ampitheater. And we were in this open grassy, almost kind of like a tidal zone. It was kind of sketchy. But we were also like cut off by these slopes by like these salmon rivers.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And yeah, so I mean, Eric had his audio going. And on his audio, you'll hear the original tree limbs being snapped. And if that was all we heard, we would have been like, wow, that might have been Sasquatch, but, you know, who knows? But it was the series of events that led to it just being completely unexplainable. So, like, the original thing was like a couple big tree limbs just crack, crack, crack. And so I grabbed my, and he got that on his recorder. So I grabbed my camera and I started talking to the camera. And I'm saying we're hearing sounds right across the water here.
Starting point is 00:18:59 right across the river. And then right after I say that, just a explosive, whack! And that's not a bear. That's like we literally in the moment went through the list of what this could be. And those original snaps, tree limb snaps,
Starting point is 00:19:19 could have been a bear. It could have been, I don't know, a tree limb snaps off and slowly makes this way down. The tree somehow is breaking things as it goes. They sounded almost too thick to be an elk, but there was some explanation to that. But then for there to be like a 30 second pause of nothingness,
Starting point is 00:19:36 and then an explosive, bam, like that's not an animal. That 100% is not an animal. I've heard all those animals and all the noises they make as they move through brush and trees or whatever. It's not, I was like, I went into that mode of trying to be like, okay, what is this? What is this? I mean, I can't be a Sasquatch, even though I believe in Sasquatch
Starting point is 00:20:00 and that's why we're here but also like at the end of the day I'm like well come on what was that and I'm like was it a rock slide I'm asking Eric and he's like dude I will play you
Starting point is 00:20:10 all the rock slides and mud slides that I have recorded over the years it's a trickling you hear like all this different stuff trickling you don't just hear a single explosive whack and then silence
Starting point is 00:20:24 right so yeah that for me Like even if a tree falls down, which I've heard now several times, um, without wind, there, there's a chance that you're hearing it just at the end of its rot and it just so happens to fall. Maybe, maybe there's another tree leaning against it. Maybe an animal just climbed up it. I don't know. There's a chance. However slim, uh, that it's, that there's an explanation to that.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Or even if you hear a scream, well, I mean, we heard screams that freaked us out. Turns out it was a sea lion. Like those big fjords, those big fjords and like they can muffle sound and twist it in a certain way that can kind of play tricks on your mind. But so like to me it was one of the most compelling things that could happen because I don't have any explanation for an explosive singular loud whack in the woods. To me it sounded like somebody asked me a question in the comment. She was like, Mike, if you weren't going out there for like Sasquash or you knew nothing about Sasquash like what would you think that? was and I remember telling people like at the time when I got home I was like it literally sounded to me like there was a gorilla up on the slope snapping breaking large limbs it literally sounded like this thing
Starting point is 00:21:41 took muscle to break several limbs off and then there to be that silence and then and then that whack and it was it was right in front of us so if it was if it was by chance we were in the biggest like these big walls of thickly covered forest. Like, why wouldn't it be any, if it's random, whatever would have caused it? Why wouldn't it be literally anywhere else? Why right in front of us? Right in front of us. It's, man, it's that kind of thing that makes you wonder.
Starting point is 00:22:16 I have only done, I'm kind of laughing at myself, but I got a little freaked out. I did solo. I've done solo multiple times. and the remote woods of Iowa, which, you know, they're, there, it's not like PNW, but for, for Iowa, it's a lot of woods. I've had some random thing walk around my tent at three in the morning. That was weird. Because, hey, if it's not a big foot, it's a random person at 3 a.m. in the morning.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Two legs? Oh, yeah, two legs. Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, so at that point, you're just like, you're hoping it's a big foot. Yeah, yeah, you're hoping, right. And you're like, please. Please don't let me my blood pressure go through my top of my head. My goodness.
Starting point is 00:23:03 It's just wild, wild stuff. Is there a place that you would not do a solo in? Yeah. Well, I wouldn't go back to that exact spot, the first location on Clayquot Sound with a rundown cabin and all that. And, of course, something flew over the trees. Just because full disclosure, I like made a deal with the forest that night. I was so afraid. I was like, right, I'm pulling out all the stops.
Starting point is 00:23:28 And like, and like, I, I know how afraid I am if I say a prayer. And it's only been a few times when I'm out in the woods alone where, like, I said prayer. That was one of those nights. And but on top of that, I also, like, I talked to the forest. I was getting so spooked. And I said something like, listen, I'm just here for tonight. I'm just here for tonight. I'm leaving tomorrow morning.
Starting point is 00:23:54 So I kind of feel like I wouldn't go back there Because I would be like I'd be lying I'd be like psych coming back like you know I'm not gonna come back there with a team of researchers and be like yeah Be like you let me go you shouldn't have now we're gonna blow this spot up I wouldn't go back there I want to go back there I don't know if there's a spot that I wouldn't go Sasquatch related There's definitely a million spots I wouldn't go ghost related because I'm really
Starting point is 00:24:24 scared of that stuff. Yeah, yeah, I don't really play those games either. It's just, exactly. Can you get wacky? Have you ever heard voices when you're out there? I thought I have. I thought I have, it's really, really easy, especially when you're alone for your mind to play tricks on you. And man, when you're on edge, it's like your brain smells blood and it's like, all right, we're really going to mess with them. You know, and I think it's really, you start to get really spooked. And I think there's been times where I've heard subtle where you feel like you're hearing
Starting point is 00:24:58 like a human voice talking. I think maybe like in the Blue Mountains I like briefly thought I heard that. But can I bank on stuff like that? No, no. Because I'm super cautious when it comes to declaring something the work of Sasquatch. I mean, I mean, I just, I just,
Starting point is 00:25:19 I figure there's so much going on in the woods. There's so many natural sounds. There's so many wild animals, each one of them with a wide array of sounds that they can make, that chances are if something weird is happening, if there's a disturbance in the brush, even if you're hearing what you think might be talking, it could just be like, it literally could be like several different bird species or an owl or just the trees creaking, and they're slowly moving in the winds. And you're sitting there and you're dead quiet, you know, and you're getting freaked out.
Starting point is 00:25:53 But there's been times where maybe I thought I might have heard, you know, distant talking or something. Gotcha. Would you ever, I was looking through your videos and I was like, man. So definitely, as you said before, got to hit the PNW, the West Coast, all that good stuff. Have you ever thought of, I mean, there are a few pretty, pretty cool. cool things in the, you know, the middle of the, of the states. I'm thinking specifically of, have you ever thought of like doing southeast Oklahoma or Texas or anything? I love to. I love to. I think, yeah, I may start opening myself up to like winter excursions, so like places that I can
Starting point is 00:26:37 hit up in the winter. So, you know, for me, that would be like, you know, heading down south. And, yeah, there's a lot. Like the, the, the, the, the smokies in general. You know, that whole area. area, Texas, Oklahoma. It's not the smoky's in Texas, but, you know, the swamps. I'm kind of scared of the swamps, but like, you know, Florida, Louisiana. I used to go down to, we used to go down to Florida every year as a family. And like I said, I would like kind of sneak off and do Bigfoot stuff. And Mayaka, the Mayaka Skunk Cape, if anyone Googles the Mayaka Skunk Cape, like that was right there.
Starting point is 00:27:17 We used to go to Miyaka every year because we used to go to. there and look for alligators and wildlife. And then I used to, you know, convince my mom at the time to, like, go pigfooting with me. And I would, I would, so, I mean, I would love to go down there and actually film it and make videos of the things that I, like, used to do. Oklahoma's, there's certain areas. Because I'm also, like, I'm also, I also think, like, there's certain places where an encounter is easier to have because the terrain is just easier. Like whether it's an open forest or whether they're just located at a bit of a pinch point because of urban development that like the chances of you may be seeing something is higher versus like Vancouver Island Pacific Northwest like I would assume their numbers are way higher. But the vegetation and the terrain is just so impossible in places that like they can be 10 feet in front of you and you wouldn't see one.
Starting point is 00:28:11 So, you know, there's other locations that I'd like to travel to like you said, like Texas or Oklahoma or something. where like I feel like it might just be easier to see one. Oh sure. Dude, I would love to see you. And we'll say, we'll talk about it here. And maybe the right person hearing it can start meddling. Yeah. Man, can you imagine like a solo expedition in like area X in southeast local,
Starting point is 00:28:42 which is like the epicenter of all the crazy Bigfoot stuff? Yeah. Sign me up. It's during the day. It's every time I hear about. a cool idea during the day. I'm like, let's do it. And then I get there. I get there and I'm like, and it's nighttime. I'm like, ooh. Maybe she should have done this. Yeah, I've heard about that location down there. I'd like to do, I've always wanted to do it alone on Boggy Creek. I, um, yeah,
Starting point is 00:29:05 dude. I, I, I, you know, everybody wanted me to do that location in Port Chad and Alaska. And I tried. I really, really tried. And, uh, and I was denied they wouldn't let me do it. Really? Oh, you had to get like filming for me? Or you got to get you got to get permission from the uh yeah the native bay corporation that oversees the land and they they recently hired like a legal team uh just to advise them because so many people were trying to go in there and just for liability reasons somebody goes in there and gets injured uh they'd be totally screwed so for that reason like yeah i talked to like the chairman i made it pretty far and i almost was like approved until i just needed his approval he was like nope
Starting point is 00:29:45 and I was like well maybe maybe that happened man that's so that's so frustrated I get why they're doing it I totally get it guys but man give Mike a chance just give Mike a chance guys
Starting point is 00:30:01 I know you'd be respectful for sure oh yeah yeah yeah I get what they're saying yeah yeah you have had I like you've had a few episodes where you kind of you team up with some other well-known people in the Bigfoot community.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Are there any of those episodes that have been really fun for you to experience or to film? Oh, dude, it's like so much better. Like, I'm done with the alone stuff just because it's like, not even because like it's scary, but because it's just you start to lose your mind. You start to lose your mind. And it's like, and it's like, being alone in like a terrifying, haunted, cursed location for a night. It's like being alone for a week anywhere else.
Starting point is 00:30:53 Like it's just, it's so much more taxing emotionally. And so when I do like these long trips, like I did six weeks out west and there were so, there was just periods of time where I'm alone in these really wild locations or what I just did, which was over seven weeks straight. and it's just like yeah you're doing one alone after another after another after another I now prefer for there to be somebody else there for my own sake for my own experience because like it's just because I do so much of the solo backpacking as well so it's just it's nice to just sit around a can't fire and frigging talk to someone like I don't want a big group I
Starting point is 00:31:35 hate groups it's it's fun if you don't want to look for us to ask hey if you just want to go out and drink with your buddies, have a good time, tell stories, great. But like, I was just in the woods for my brother's birthday in Maine. And, you know, this four of us sitting around a campfire, and I heard, like, a loon for a second and just everybody's talking through it because everybody's telling stories. And I just immediately thought, like, man, that's, yeah, like, how often would that happen with, like, an actual Sasquatch situation where people are just talking through it because They're not out there for that. They're not out there listening for it.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Whereas, like, when I'm alone, that's part of the reason why I do it alone is because it heightens your senses. And you're just so in tune with your surroundings and the subtleties of the forest and the noises that you can really pick up on things. But you can also lose your mind a little bit. So, yeah, to answer your question in the longest way possible, yeah, I know, I've now, I now really see the value of just having, like, one other person, maybe two, that I really, really trust. They're not going to go.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Oh, that was big foot. And I was like, no, that was a woodpecker. Right. You know, but like someone like Shane Corson or Eric on Vancouver Island. One place you've been, you've been to multiple places I haven't been able to go to yet because I just get stuck in Oregon because I love it so much. Wait, do you live in Oregon? No, I live in Iowa, dude. Wait, so how do you get stuck in Oregon?
Starting point is 00:33:08 Well, because it's a whole deal. Like, there's so many, my first place I went to in the PNW was Oregon. And I was like, oh, there's this place and this place to go to. And like, I'll never hit them all for the rest of my life. And like, I'll never get to Washington. I got to get to Washington. But it's just like, there's so many things. No, I've never been.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Never been, dude. I know, man. Here's what. So, and that kind of leads me into. So I've never been to Washington, and I've never been to the Gifford Ben Show, has come up so much on this podcast. Does it live up to the hype in your opinion? Because I know you went to to it with Shane Corson. Yeah. I mean, it depends on what you're going there for. Like if you're going there strictly for a Sasquatch encounter, you know, my answer might change maybe. Like I go into things. with a mindset of like the chances of something Sasquatch related happening are very, very slim right now.
Starting point is 00:34:11 So let's go to a beautiful place where it's just going to be friggin awesome to just be there. And you know, if you're in the whole rainforest, if you don't have a Sasquatch encounter happen, hey, you're still in the whole rainforest. And that's like the most magical experience ever. But let's face it, the Giffra Pinchot is squaw. And like, does that live up to the height?
Starting point is 00:34:33 Like, yeah, I'd say so. Like, seeing Mount St. Helens, Mount St. Helens was just, man, it was cool. And the woods just had this dark mystery to them. And there's just certain places like that where you go and you're like, you're like, man, you can just feel it. Like you can feel that there's this species out there just beyond reach, just beyond eyesight, like just beyond what we can comprehend that's there watching you.
Starting point is 00:35:00 You can just like feel it. and in places like Mount St. Helens are they're really like that man you can just picture something in those dark woods looking at you not to mention like from an ecosystem standpoint it all fully makes sense that something oh sure yeah if my wife ever listens to this um which probably not but that's okay um she will be mad because i have to take back what i said a minute ago we have been to Washington it was pretty big foot we actually I took her out on a surprise honeymoon out to Forks for Twilight stuff. Dude, that's a big deal. You cannot forget that that happens. This is your honeymoon. Now you're going to make sure she doesn't.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I'm going to have to edit this a little bit. I get out of live. But yeah, I wasn't into the Bigfoot stuff back then. So it was a total lost opportunity. Because I remember, like, we stopped at Lake Crescent, which is like a crazy epicenter for midfoot activity. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, got, you know, anyways, that's a whole different podcast.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Listen to my Twilight podcast for that. I don't actually have. Yeah, man. Twilight this, Twilight that up there. Oh, my goodness. For sure, for sure. For locals. What was it like hanging out with the Browns on their property?
Starting point is 00:36:20 I know that that is, there's been a ton of activity on there. Yeah. So, I mean, all the places I've been, like, I always tell people, like, I think the most guaranteed Sasquatch Siding that I could think of where I'd be like, all right, this person needs to experience something and they're willing to do whatever it takes. I think what you should do is not go to Vancouver Island, not Nordegg, not Bluff Creek, any of those places, go to the Brown property mid-October and just go camp in their backyard for a week alone. And you can't tell me that something intense is not going to happen. I like, I just, because I really feel like,
Starting point is 00:37:00 I just really, I think there's certain locations, whether it's like private land or Indian reservations where this species, as intelligent as it is, understands that these are places where outsiders don't really travel and there's not going to be development. A parking lot isn't going to go in. And they just find, I think, safety likely find like safety in knowing that and having trusted people. Like the Browns like don't put out cameras. and these Sasquatch like come right up to their house.
Starting point is 00:37:32 They come right up to their house and have cleaned out, you know, their, their, their, vegetables and fruit and stuff. And, man, they have all kinds of, you know, I'm sure you know, like photos and audio and thermal. Oh, yeah. But, but I was there, I think like mid-September, but yeah, you go there in October, a week, a week in a tent alone. There's no way something isn't going to go down.
Starting point is 00:37:57 It's just, can you? handle it? Are you going to last the week? For sure, dude. Oh my goodness. Yeah, I can't even imagine. Also, don't just show up at the Browns. Yeah, I'm saying. Mike Wander said to just show up and tent here. No, you got to ask people before you just show up. Wild stuff. You've been to Mount Hood. I've been out in the woods in Mount Hood National Forest. What was it like tenting camping out in the Mount Hood area? I mean, I've heard some intense stuff out there. Yeah, it was awesome. I, the first time I went out to Oregon, I did Mount Hood.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Yeah, I think it was in like the Clackamas area. And I just went to a place where Tyler from the NABC told me that he had one, like, reached through his tent. So I went there. And again, then he said he also like heard them screaming or heard like two figures screaming at each other. So I went to that spot and spent a couple nights alone. Or, yeah, I think I was there for one night and then I spent a second night somewhere else. It was awesome. It was, it was cool.
Starting point is 00:39:02 It was like sometimes looking for Bigfoot. It's just a cool magical experience where it's like, maybe these things are here. And it's not like, you don't get like overwhelmed by fear. Like, I wasn't, I wasn't intensely afraid in Mount Hood. Like that was, that was a really cool experience. Unfortunately, I think that entire area was clear cut since I've been there. And, yeah, Mount Hood was awesome. I actually went back recently.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I still have to edit this video and I did Tillamook. Oh, yeah, on the coast. Yeah, I did like coastal Oregon and, you know, Cliff kind of helped me out and like where to go and that. I mean, the rain ended up, but, but yeah, that's, I mean, that's a squatchy place too. Oh, my goodness. Going back to where we started, Bluff Creek is such an interesting area. there can be a lot of weird did you have any weird stuff happen in Bluff Creek
Starting point is 00:39:57 I've heard from some people that they have experienced things out of the ordinary there or was it a pretty normal situation for you? I was pretty, yeah, I think it's pretty normal. I'm sorry, I try my best to be pretty grounded. Absolutely. So I'm not going to be like, yeah. I think I remember when I was there
Starting point is 00:40:19 I ended up maybe for the first time feeling, I think I was hiking around on the forestry roads, and I kind of just, one of those things where you're turning around every five seconds. I think that was kind of the first time I really felt that. Granted, I absolutely allow for the possibility that you're freaking yourself out. But, yeah, it was one of those things where I just kept turning around every five seconds, and we start walking a little faster. And suddenly, it just feels like there's something behind you. I remember I felt that there. But other than that, nothing happened in Bluff Creek.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I actually just went back to Bluff Creek, but I was on the other side of the go road, and I did like the Six Rivers National Four. I met up with a guy who works for like the Six Rivers Ranger District. And we did some stuff out there. Bigfoot stuff? Yeah, yeah, yeah. For sure? No, no, no, we did some stuff out there.
Starting point is 00:41:15 We didn't, I don't know if we experienced, I heard a mountain line, which is crazy. he took me to a spot where I spent one night alone up on the go road like towards the end of it where it's like cut off where it doesn't continue onto the bluff on the Willow Creek Buff Creek side whatever it is because like the tribe wouldn't let them finish it so I spent a night up there alone and then I met up with yeah this guy who works for the Ranger district and he took me to a spot where he had just seen one like a couple weeks beforehand apparently and
Starting point is 00:41:49 I don't know if I don't know if anything too bizarre happened I get to listen to my audio on all these excursions that I just went on I haven't listened to any of that but he was telling me something interesting where like I think he talks about this on camera where he woke up one night after they heard all this stuff in the middle of the night and there was a little green army man in front of his tent and I was just like I was saying to him you know again I'm being annoying and I was like, all right, is there like, well, like, there's no chance that, like, you had something like that in your pack or, you know, and, you know, and he's like, no, no, no, no, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:42:29 But what's really crazy is that he just texted me the other day and he was camping somewhere else in the Sierra's and he said, little green army man in front of his tent again. No way. Oh, that's wild. Okay. So were you able to, did he share, like, his account then? Were you able to get that? Yeah, yeah, he was talking about it on camera.
Starting point is 00:42:51 I deal with a lot of people who don't want to be on camera, which sucks, but also, you know, I totally get it. Not only do I find their stories sometimes more credible when they don't want to be on camera. Like in no way, I'm like, oh, screw it, then I'm not meeting with you. I'm kind of more interested when you're not in this for all the reasons that, you know, someone might fear you're in it for. Like, you had something happened to you that they usually wish didn't happen. and they're terrified and they have no interest in getting any type of attention for it. And they just want to share their story with me. And so that happens a lot.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Just, you know, people who don't want to be on camera. So that happened a lot on this recent trip where, man, I wish these people would appear on camera, but they wouldn't. Oh, I'm Prince of Wales. Yeah, well, I got someone awesome on Prince of Wales Island. There were a couple other people. there were like 10 people every person i talked to on prince of wales island had a crazy story i i now i now i'm like prince of wells island is the squatchiest place i've ever been i think it is because it's just there's nobody going in there knocking on trees doing whoops doing anything like
Starting point is 00:44:02 that it's just it just doesn't happen and it is massive it is just you flying in it's just endless mountainous valleys all covered in what looks like untouched forest like there was a big logging system in there, but not really anymore. And it's just wild wilderness in Southeast Alaska. And every single person I talked to up there had a crazy story. Like if they didn't have something directly themselves, they were like, they were like, oh, no, that's stupid. But my best friends swear on his life that he saw something, blah, blah, blah. You know, so like that kept happening. The Klinger were telling me all kinds of stories. But there was a couple people who wouldn't appear on camera on Prince of Wales Island, as well as outside catch a can.
Starting point is 00:44:45 But, you know, they still were with me off camera sharing their stories. Yeah, absolutely. Man, that place is, I'm thinking, one of the most weirdest interviews I had was a forestry worker where he was just out in the woods doing some hunting or something like that. And he, like, looks over. And what looks like a huge orangutan is, like, getting fish out of the water. It's just like, it's so strange. The orangutan type ones always weird me out.
Starting point is 00:45:17 I've heard it a few times. You've not had a visual yet. Do you have anything in mind of like, if you were to visualize, okay, I'll know it's Bigfoot because it looks like this or you're just open to anything weird like it could look like anything and you'll just know. Man, hopefully it's relatively clear. otherwise I want to live in doubt for the rest of my life. Like, even like anything that I don't record
Starting point is 00:45:46 ends up eventually just getting like gray as it goes. It just gets grayer and grayer in my mind. And even what happened to me, you know, what flew over the trees, like that's, that memory is fading because I didn't record it. And, you know, as time goes on, I, myself will be like, well, you know, was it really as dramatic as, but like, But I remember in the moment being like, don't let this fade. This was intense.
Starting point is 00:46:14 And if I didn't record that knock up on Cleoquot Sound with Eric, that too would have faded. And if I was there alone and I didn't have someone there to corroborate what happened, like I think that over time, it would have, I would have been doubting it, you know, and I would have said, ah, was it really that loud? Like, and if it wasn't that loud, it could have been this. It could have been that. So hopefully if I see something, it's clear as day. otherwise I'm going to doubt it for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 00:46:41 But I'm almost expecting it to just kind of look pretty human-like. But who knows? Who knows? Expect the unexpected. No, 100%. I agree. Right with you on that one. So your channel is not just Bigfoot,
Starting point is 00:47:02 but you also have some really cool videos where it's like you've gone into national parks. I believe you've gone into. glacier and yellowstone, right? Everywhere, man. Now, now it's like frigging everywhere. It's crazy. I'm exhausted, dude. I'm like barely alive at this point. I was like
Starting point is 00:47:20 crawl into the finish line of my last trip that I did because I just, you know, I'm not really like I don't know. I used to go on like these week trips with my wife, maybe 10 days and we would jam pack it. And my theory was like, well, what happens if I just do that for like six weeks? You know, if I
Starting point is 00:47:36 just jam pack six weeks and like every day you're really going for it whether it's the big foot stuff and taking a float plane to a remote location alone or having a boat drop you off or going to places where people tell you not to go probably for good reason or like backpacking alone with grizzlies and some of the wildest places like I want to do that on paper like I talk about during the day it all sounds great but then it's just the cumulative effect of that is just exhausting but yeah with this last like nearly two-month trip I just did. I was all over the place, all kinds of different national parks and took a lot out of me. What is interesting is all the backpacking I do, I really don't see or hear or feel
Starting point is 00:48:22 a lot of the Bigfoot related things that I do feel, see and hear when I'm in these red hot Sasquatch locations. Like you don't, you really don't like hike around for a week and constantly go like what's behind me. You like, it doesn't actually happen. But it does happen when you're in these really spooky places. But so many different, just life-changing things in my backpacking trips. And I always say this to people, like, if it somehow came out tomorrow, which it wouldn't because Sasquatch is real. But if it somehow came out tomorrow that Sasquatch doesn't exist and it never existed, I wouldn't spend one less day in the wilderness because there's already infinite reasons to get out into the most beautiful places in North America. I mean, if there was one grizzly bear in North America, the whole world would be talking about it and be like, there's a grizzly bear.
Starting point is 00:49:12 But it's just like, it's the fact that like, it's the fact that there's all these animals that we're just used to existing that we've just grown like complacent with. Like, like the fact that there's grizzly bears walking around is insane. Like the fact that Africa has all these well documented, documented animals that we all know about. It's crazy. It's, it's, it's crazier than Sasquatch that there's giraffes and lions and tigers. and polar bears. So to me, there's already, like, infinite beauty and infinite reasons to get out there. But, I mean, yeah, man, to be alone at the top of, like, the cascades, watching the sunrise,
Starting point is 00:49:49 or watching a sunset and Glacier National Park with waterfalls around you or just to be amongst an old-growth forest, old-growth rainforest, wherever that is. It's just incredible. Or to be, you know, alone with Grizzlies is ridiculous. heart pounding in Alaska. What's the closest you got to a grizzly? Way too close. Especially this last trip, man, this last trip.
Starting point is 00:50:15 I'm always like, I'm always excited to go have a grizzly experience. I'm always excited to go see some grizzlies. And for me, like if I go out to Yellowstone and I backpack for a week, like the highlight is if I maybe see a grizzly. But even if you don't, to me, it's always so exciting. The idea that they're around and that, like, like, man, you're not on the top of the food chain and you got to do things right. Don't screw up.
Starting point is 00:50:39 There's big tracks everywhere. It's so exciting. It's electric. But it's always like the best moment. Man, if you do happen to see a bear. For me to go out to Cap My National Park where the highest concentration of brown bears are in the world and have all those close run-ins that I had with a with gigantic, like SUV-sized brown bears. Like that was just, it was kind of exhausting.
Starting point is 00:51:05 After a while. At first, it was like the beginning of Jurassic Park when they first see the dinosaurs and everyone's like, oh, and there's beautiful music playing. And then after a while, it's like, all right, get me out of here. Like, we're not in control. Everything we're doing is being dictated by the behavior of something else. Like, oh, guys, there's a bear outside. Nobody can leave. Or there's a bear attacking the plane. For real. And we can't get the bear to stop attacking the plane. Are you serious? Yeah, the Rangers are like trying to get it to stop and it's like, screw you. They're like, stop it. And they're like throwing sticks out of it. It was not doing anything. Like, guys, this is not, I don't love the idea that they seem to be running the show here. And then in Denali, I backpacked Denali.
Starting point is 00:51:50 I did a, I closed on my whole trip recently doing a solo backpack in Denali. That was the scariest thing I've ever done. And just because I never, there was one day where, no, I saw, I saw six grizzlies in the first two, days. And it was just like I was already grizzled out from Cap Mai and I just wanted to have like a nice backpacking experience. And instead it was like it was constant grizzly. So you just, you're not able to rest and your heart is just pounding the whole time. And there's no trails there. So, you know, you could you could come upon one through thick bush at any moment. Oh, that's horrifying. Yeah. Oh my goodness. I didn't think about that because it could be right there.
Starting point is 00:52:30 I saw this TikTok with It's always good sentence starts with that I saw this TikTok where Rep from Colossal was being interviewed and someone was like would you bring back the short was it short face bear? No no and they were like probably we wouldn't
Starting point is 00:52:54 and I was like whoa whoa whoa let's circle back to you saying probably like that should be a blanket no for all time, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, hey, as long as you're keeping it in a cage. By the way, like Jurassic Park, you've ever been in like a good zoo? Like, it's just like their enclosures are better
Starting point is 00:53:13 than the Jurassic Park enclosures. So, like, the animals aren't going to get out for the most part. But, yeah, they're not really, like, releasing these animals into the wild, but, but, yeah, we don't need any bigger bears. We don't need any bigger bears. No, the bears on Catmai can be 10 feet tall. when they stand up, 1,500 pounds.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Like, you don't need a bigger bear. I can't, I cannot imagine. Let's say the owner of Skinwalker Ranch calls you up and is like, hey, Mike Wander's, big fan of the YouTube channel. What if you do a solo for a week on my property? What would you do? Wow, that's a good question. If they called me, that might be different. That might be different.
Starting point is 00:53:56 I don't know. So I was actually, I started that process of trying to. to contact everybody on Skynwalker Ranch. Oh, you did. Yeah, I was going to go down there. And then I was like, hold on a second. Hold on. Hold on. Like, you know, I saw speaking of the Browns and Jonathan Brown, when I was doing six weeks
Starting point is 00:54:14 out west, I was on their property. And I was like, yeah, when I get back, I think I'm going to branch more into like, I'm going to start including like some spooky paranormal stuff. I'm going to start doing ghost stuff. And he was like, dude, you're going to have something attach itself to you. And then I was like, done, forget it. Like, I'm just not doing that. So with Skinwalker, no, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I,
Starting point is 00:54:30 have no interest in really attaching myself to anything like that. You know, if it's just Sasquatch, that's one thing. But, you know, with all that other stuff that seems to surround that area, I'm not too interested in it. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, you never know. He could be a big fan of the show.
Starting point is 00:54:51 And if you are, rock on. Yeah, they sell me. If they pitch it, if they pitch it really well. Yeah, they pitch it. I've already made that decision years ago. I was like, if they ever reach out, I would definitely say no. I could not do it. Like, not do it.
Starting point is 00:55:07 Would you visit, though, and just not spend the night? I don't even think I would visit, to be honest, just because of like the weird medical stuff. So this is my first time with cancer. Like, I had cancer when I was a little kid, too. And so, I don't know, just something about me is like, I, that's like poking a bear big time, you know, because you never know how a person is going to react on that property.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Yeah. If you're going, well, I mean, it's in the books, too, not just the show. If you read the books that documented the history of that place, it's crazy. I just don't want to meddle. I don't want to mess with that stuff. When I left Vancouver Island the first time, that really spooky night I had, my main takeaway was like, oh, we have no idea what's going on. We have no idea what's going on in our own world and in our own reality.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Like, our five senses, our five senses are just barely scrambling. scratching the surface. It's like there is infinitely more going on in our reality and our universe than what we are actually able to perceive, you know? It's like imagine explaining the complexities of the universe to a cockroach. Like their mind can only understand so much. Our mind can only understand so much. And to leave that location.
Starting point is 00:56:19 And I was just like, whoa, we don't know. I picked up on it for a second. It's like my six, my ancient six cents seemed to like kick in a little bit. and picked up on like, whoa, there's something else. I don't know what it is. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. That would definitely be the whole skin walker thing.
Starting point is 00:56:39 If you, a place like that for me would definitely be when I went to Tennessee in April, experienced a lot of, I would say, man, if you do make it down to Tennessee for this series, do not underestimate the smokies. And if you get out to the Cumberland Plateau, just in case, do not underestimate that area at all. absolutely insanity. They were like I was hearing voices in the woods. There's another place. There was a we were
Starting point is 00:57:06 surrounded by orbs like it was I was like what's happening right now? Man well the East Coast almost freaks me out more like I want to I want to do it there's something about the East Coast that for some reason scares me a little bit more. I've been talking to Alex Petikoff about this where it's like oh yeah there's something other something about the
Starting point is 00:57:22 East Coast woods maybe it's like the it's just the the denser history of bloodshed and wars that have just gone on on the East Coast, just because that's where it's been really developed for such a long time. There's just been so much bloodshed here for so long that it just adds such a spook factor to the woods. But you're saying that really makes me want to go to that location.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Are there any places on your bucket list that you have not been able to, go to yet for the series, but you are kind of hoping that maybe someday it would happen. Oh, yeah, so many places. Well, first of all, I'd like to go back to so many of the locations that I've already been to. Of course, because what I do is totally, like, totally, like, counterproductive in terms of having a Sasquatch encounter. Like, what you should really do is, like, post up in one location for, like, and just keep going to that same location over and over and over and over again.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Right. But I have way too much ADD, and also I like to show people the beautiful, different beautiful landscapes. So that's kind of why I bounce around. So in the name of seeing something new, like, yeah, I have an interest in seeing, you know, the Boggy Creek area and doing down in the swamps of like Florida, maybe, and Texas and the smokies. I'd like to go to the Nahani up in Yukon.
Starting point is 00:58:50 I was going to say you should do that to the Headless Valley, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. you know certain places it almost feels like I want like like are you going because it's it's what everybody knows about on social media or are you going because you legit think this is your best shot at having like some type of encounter I love that you know and like portlock is like one of those places like that just seems like okay that's going to get a gazillion views and because everybody's obsessed with it and these stories have run wild on the internet but is there really a sad squads there maybe but there's also other locations where you could go and and and and
Starting point is 00:59:33 have an encounter uh 100% thing about like alaska the thing about the yukon and then honey is like it's so vast it's so big and wild that like not only is a logistical nightmare to get in there and financially apocalyptic but like um but it's just man like i don't know it's just so big and expansive that the chances of something happening. I don't know. I could be wrong. Maybe I'd end up losing my head. I think that, hopefully not.
Starting point is 01:00:02 I think that that area is the best chance on earth for you to see a living dinosaur or Willie mammoth just because if you look into it, it's like this crazy forgotten valley that time forgot. And it's just like so many. And people lost their heads too. There's that. But it's wild. The stories are wild.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Yeah, the last woolly mammoth hiding up in the Nahani area. Even where I was in Denali, like, people talking about how like the first people to develop these areas 10,000 years ago would hunt up on these ridges here and look down where I was in the, like the Teclanica River Valley and hunt woolly mammoths and giant bison. And they still find, you know, tusks and all kinds of things kind of melting out of not only. permafrost, but also just glacier runoff. I was in Capmai and I'm so tall that I almost like totally took something off the wall. Like I almost bumped into it and then I backed off and saw it was a woolly mammoth tusk. And I was like, wait, is that like real? No, like yeah, that's a real 10,000 year old woolly mammoth tusk.
Starting point is 01:01:11 And I was like, can you put it higher up? Oh my goodness. Alaska is so wild. I saw a story recently where have you, there's a story floating around where supposedly all these hunters are seeing Siberian tiger tracks and seeing tigers on the western side of Alaska. Yeah, absolutely. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:01:33 So, like, they just slam across the area where it's, like, really close, you know? That would not be good news. Yeah, that would be terrible news. Well, I kind of consider tigers my favorite animal, but, man, they don't also need tigers there. No. Wow, really? Where? Like right by where the Lambridge kind of used to be? I think so. I don't know the ultra specifics. I have to look it up. But let's see.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Dude, that's a video in and of itself. It really is. Tigers. Look over Tigers in Alaska. That would do really well, man. Yeah, that would be good. Get killed by Tiger. Yeah, that's true. You'd be like the guy who got, who's the guy who got taken out by the Bears who filmed it. Timothy Treadwell
Starting point is 01:02:19 Timothy Treadwell Yeah, that's it Couldn't stop thinking about that man I could not stop thinking about that When I was backpacking in Denali Yeah, yeah Wild wild stuff Man what a fun conversation
