Bigfoot Society - HIDDEN FIGURE WATCHES HIKER AT HUESTON WOODS, OHIO
Episode Date: June 23, 2026A quiet evening hike through Hueston Woods State Park in Ohio left Olivia with more questions than answers. While exploring the Big Woods Trail near sunset, she noticed unusual tree formations, a sudde...n silence in the forest, rustling movement off the trail, and an overwhelming feeling that something was watching her. The experience stayed with her long after she returned home. When she reviewed her footage, she discovered something unexpected hidden among the trees. The story didn't end there.A BFRO investigator later visited the location and reportedly found large footprints near the same area. Olivia returned multiple times herself, uncovering additional tracks and gathering more evidence from a location that may hold a history of unexplained activity. She also shares an earlier nighttime experience from the same park near Acton Lake, where an unseen presence moved through dense vegetation and appeared to approach her position after dark.Could these events be connected? What is happening in one of Ohio's most popular state parks?Join us as Olivia shares her firsthand experiences from Hueston Woods and explains why she plans to continue searching for answers.Resources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRg6WxTF2yA&t=1543s📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here:https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible.
From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.
These are the voices of the people who've lived it.
So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever.
So stay with us.
Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer.
For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the Caring Bridge link in the show notes.
Thank you.
All right, Bigfoot Society.
I've got the privilege of talking to Olivia today.
Olivia is an individual that reached out to me about an interesting thing that was captured on video out there in Ohio, correct, Olivia?
Correct.
Awesome.
And thank you for coming on to the show today.
How are you doing today?
Okay, how about you?
Doing well, doing well.
Kind of a hot day in Iowa, but not too bad.
You can't complain.
So, yeah, I've watched the video on your YouTube channel.
It is really interesting, and I'll have it linked in the show notes.
So listeners can go over there and check it out.
But do you mind walking us through what you experienced that day that you had captured?
on film?
So, I'll start from the beginning of that day.
So my boyfriend and I went to hiking about like an hour before sunset.
We just wanted to get a quick hike that day.
I was starting a YouTube channel.
I started from this recording about like a month ago.
So I decided to film the hike and I usually just film my hike.
Sometimes my boyfriend comes with me.
sometimes he doesn't.
And so we go to a state park.
We live near Houston Woods State Park in Feeble and Butler County, Ohio.
And the part we were in was in Freeble County on the Big Woods Trail slash Hedge Apple Trail.
And so we get there, we park our car.
So we park our car in the parking lot.
And we head to the trail.
and right off the bat
we noticed there's a bunch of trees
in the trail that were cut down
or not cut down but knock down
and then there's other trees on the side
of the trail that were
cut as a chainsaw
then moved to the side
as if trees just fall on that trail all the time
and
so
we make note of that
it's not a big deal like it's pretty
forested on that trail specifically
so I don't really pay much mind to it.
And then, further along in the hike, there's more trees down, but the thing is, the one tree that was down was a, it was like a, not like a young pine tree, but like a, it seems like a healthy one that just slumped over.
And when it fell, it took down a bunch of other trees, so it was blocking the trail.
and all around that area where that pine tree was knocked down,
there was like Y-shaped trees with other smaller trees wedged into the,
in between the trunks of the tree.
And then there was another Y-shaped tree.
It was a pretty large branch that was almost off the ground,
off-the-ground wedged into the tree.
And we also noticed like a pair of,
sticks in a shape of an X next to all the down trees and I'm like huh that is very
weird for all those things to be happening in such a small area but I figured like
it's a popular park especially even this semester because there's Miami University
like 10 minutes from here so I figured like a lot of people come here but like some
of the trees were way too large for a person to do that
um, to like wedge them in between the trunks of other trees.
But you know, um, I made note of that in the video, but I never like
worried about it too much. And then we loop around the, uh, the trail because the
trail goes straight and loops around and then goes, goes back where it came from.
And then along the, um, the trail, when we were coming back from the loop, we noticed
there was like a stick stroke here.
like almost like a nesting shape right on the side of the trail.
And I didn't really pay much attention to it just because it was right next to the trail.
And I'm like, oh well, anyone can make it, but it's kind of weird you would make this right next to the trail if it was a person that made it.
Which I'm sure it was a person, but it was just very unusual where they had it.
and then we were walking back, we were in the area with thugs down trees and the stick structures,
and then I noticed it was silent, like the birds weren't singing,
and the only thing we heard was one crow that caught a few times, and then that was it.
There was just silent.
So I'm looking around, and I don't see anything, and I'm filming with my iPhone,
And I don't say anything at all.
But I did hear rustling a bit when we were heading away,
so I'm still looking in that area, but I don't see anything at all.
And then, surely after we heard that rustling and we were walking back out of the trail,
I just had that overwhelming sensation like I was being lost.
And my experience of hiking, because I've hiked about.
hundreds of miles in the state of Ohio.
I learned that whenever you get that feeling of being washed,
it's like an evolutionary adaptations that humans have
if they saw a predator or anything,
but they didn't process it in their mind.
And so I was a little more freaked out
because I knew what it meant.
And so we get out of the trail
we go home, I'm reviewing the footage exactly where it was silent.
And then, I'm not really seeing anything, so I zoom in on my phone a bit.
And then I see, like, I can't tell if it was, like, at the time, it was, like, a head or, um, shoulders, uh, peeking behind, like, right by side, beside a, um, like, a crooked tree and a, um, and, like a sapling.
that was in like the most unfortunate spot possible.
So I would not have been able to see, to see what it was very well.
And then, um, and I'm like, oh, that's weird. Maybe it was a camera artifact.
So I put it on my computer when I'm editing the video. And I look even closer.
And in the, in the on-zoned version, and when I looked, you could still see something moving in between the cooketry and the,
in the sampling.
So the
cookie tree was about like
50 to 100 feet away from the trail
so it wasn't very far.
So I figured like I would have seen
like I definitely would have seen what it was
if it was closer or that close.
So I assumed it was a lot farther away
but just how it was placed.
Looks like it was
like right there.
But
I wasn't very sure to make of it
so I sent it into the BFRO
and they actually sent a guy out to Houston Woods
and when he looked
he said there was nothing there that it could have been
other than either a person or a Bigfoot or a bear
and this thing is in the county I live in
in the county where Houston Woods is
there have not been any black bear sightings
in this area, if I'm not mistaken in a few years, if any other time.
And while the BFRL member was here, he found footprints in the pretty large footprints
in the area where I took the video and what the stick structures were.
Okay, that's cool. That is really cool. What was the date of this?
again?
Yeah, it was this year.
It was
it was actually May 14th, I think.
It was a Thursday.
Okay.
Gotcha.
How, I would assume
the rep from the BFRO,
did they get,
did they,
what's the weird?
Did they get measurements
of the footprints that they found?
I don't know exactly how big the footprints the one guy found
but he said when he was there I could go up there with him
and I found a footprint myself
and it was hard to make out how big it was
but it was between like 10 and 14 inches or 14 inches
it was just the ground was like very awful quality
because it was rained all day so
right
were you able to see more than one footprint or I guess you kind of said that you both had found footprints so yeah I found one footprint um that day I went there with him and then he found like three to five more I can't remember exactly but he casted one of them and he casted the one I found oh that's awesome was this a thing that it I don't believe this was published on the their website was it it has not been published yeah
I message the guy today
and he said
if it does get published
soon, he said he had the report done last week
so I don't know if it's going to be able.
Oh, that's awesome. Very cool.
I know they've got a lot of stuff
they're looking into right now. Yeah.
Yeah.
Something I
noticed when I was looking at the map
for this state park.
So are you on
there's like the big lake there's acton lake are you on the east or the west side of the lake um
um on the uh western side awesome and then is this over by the campground it's it's just south of the campground
okay because i noticed that if you go to like the far west side of the campground there's actually
a uh indian mound over there yeah which is really
cool. Sometimes you see
those
kind of appear
in the same
area where you have
Native American Indian mounds
and then
potential Bigfoot activity
as well.
But
that's really cool.
Have you been back to this area
besides going back with the BFRL
representative? Yeah, I went back
twice. So I went back
before
I contacted the BFR just to see for myself if I could find anything, but I couldn't really figure it out, like, if there was anything that it could have been.
But I did find out that if, like, I took a video with me what I was doing, and even though I might have got the measurement wrong, because I said it was like seven or eight feet, possibly.
it could have been smaller. It was very hard to make out depending how far it was and
the thing is I wore a purple shirt in that video so even with me wearing a brightly colored shirt
and how far back I was I was very hard to spot on the camera anyway so I figured like it would be
hard to spot me in a purple shirt there was probably be even more difficult to view something that's all
black or brown in color too.
And then the last time I went
again, I went two days ago
and I found more footprints.
The one I found was
10 inches long, but
the weird thing is the footprint had like
two or three toes on it.
So I don't know if it was just a
indent or
what else it was.
And then I did find two more footprints
a little bit farther away and they were about
like 13 inches, 13
inches long.
So it was in range to be a person, but they were very deep in the ground, like a few inches.
The video is very interesting.
You know, when you combine it in with the video that you that you took on your channel, it is a really interesting thing.
It's cool that they got that they sent someone out to investigate it.
Have you heard any other things happening in this park?
other reports of other people having sightings or encounters?
Actually, online, I couldn't find anything, but when the BFR member came, he showed me a map
on his phone that they had other reports in the area, too, like in the same park.
And the weird thing is, I had another, I did have something else weird happened to me a few
years ago when I was in the same area. So two years ago, I think in the original email, I put
23. I meant 24. It must have pressed off the button because I sent it late at night. So I went
stargazing with a friend in May of 24. And so we get there on sunset. So just before sunset,
but then like, I don't know, 20 minutes. And as they were starting to get dark, from the,
So to describe where we were, we were at the parking lot at the Maple Grove picnic area.
And then it's like a road to both of parking spaces and then like a circle of like to turn around in.
And farther back there's like a slight clearing area out of picnic tables.
And then there's like a line, like a pretty thick line of wood.
and a slope, and then it leads to another parking lot where the beaches on Acton Lake.
And what happened was, as we were starting to get dark, we heard something walking in between the parking lots,
coming from the north side.
And at first we saw nothing of it, like, just plenty of animals that live in the park.
and
and then the weird thing
is
whatever it was
almost not a bipedal
in motion
so I tried looking
to see
what it was
and of course
it just sloped
and it was
made
where that happens
there was too much
vegetation
so I couldn't see anything
and it was starting
to get dark
so it was even darker
in the
in the forested area
and then
so whatever was in there
I couldn't see
there was just no way
I could have spotted anything
and then as it was
moving
south from the north position
so like we're facing east
it like curves
and almost like
makes a j shape towards the parking lot
and so I try to get closer
to it by the tree line to see what it was
and whatever it was
got really close to the tree line where I was standing.
So it's like a wall of, um, of bushes.
It was like, I couldn't tell how far back it was, but I could tell it was getting a lot
closer to me, and I was like making a bee line towards me.
And I started backing up, I'm like, wow, whatever this is, it's starting to get close
to me.
So this is kind of weird.
I don't know what animal this is at this point.
When I backed up, I heard it turn around again, and then head back to it.
direction it came and then just started like going back and forth trying to like I don't even know what I was trying to but like it got to the point we were getting freaked out I'm shining my flashlight back there and then I kind of swore I saw like green eye shine and usually I thought it was like a lightning bug but the um the eye or whatever it was looked really large like it had to be like maybe
be this big, but from a distance, like farther back. And it was really, like, pretty high off the ground,
like, like, six or seven feet. It was kind of hard to gauge how high it was. And given it was sloped,
there was not really a good gauge, but it was, like, not ground level. Like, it seemed a little high
for a lightning bug to be, and a little too large. So we ended up leaving. And then, and I thought
nothing of it and I'm like I just saw like wow it was really weird that's happened and then um
and I just left it at that I didn't know what to think and then probably a little bit longer or a little
bit later I'm like that might have been the big foot but I don't know that's really interesting
I'm looking I also checked out the big foot mapping project I think it's actually your
you put your report up on there right yes I did
Okay, cool. Cool. I was just double checking. So that's really interesting, but I just want to look real quick on the BFRO.
Ohio is it Butler County?
Where we were exactly was Preble County, but it was like right on the border.
Preble County, okay.
Could you tell if those are recent reports on that map that he showed you or that the reps
showed you um he he didn't show me like what how old they were but he just showed me there were
sightings and okay gotcha gotcha so what what i'm seeing is i can't find any documented
sightings around the state park it might be a thing where they might be there but just the general
public doesn't know about it and this is kind of the first time you're you're coming forward is kind of the
first time people know about it if you get what I mean. Yeah. Um, which is kind of interesting,
you know, if there is other stuff happening in the state park area in the general public
doesn't know about it. Um, yeah, I, I think people should know about stuff going on, but. Yeah.
That's just me. Um, but yeah, after you had this experience, um, sometimes people will have
other strange things happen
like at their house or
just weird stuff. Did anything
out of the ordinary start to happen after
this initial experience
you had?
Not really.
Everything has been the same. Like I've gone back to
the park too. Nothing's weird
happen. And I don't feel like
anything followed me home or anything.
But I always have that suspicion
like, oh, I don't know why I'm like this.
but I'm like, oh no, I hope what if it was fault didn't follow me home, but that's just me.
But no, that's like nothing weird going on either.
It sounds like this is something that you are wanting to continue to look into.
Is that right?
Correct.
Do you have any goals with looking into, you know, potential Bigfoot in this area?
Is there something you want to have accomplished through all this?
Probably just make the presence more publicly known.
Maybe get a better video because the one I took isn't very good,
but it's still inconclusive.
Probably something more convincing to the general public who doesn't know much about Bigfoot.
Maybe find better footprints that are more detailed and casted and like the ground.
when we took the castings that one time wasn't very good
because it was just remaining healthy
so probably just like find like the better evidence
and probably just bring awareness to it really
yeah absolutely I was did did you get any of the
track casts that were cast that day or were those
cast by the rep and he held they held on to them
I have the one cast he has the other one he took
Okay. That's awesome. Is that something you have in your room right now?
Yep, I did.
Would you feel comfortable? Is that something you might be able to show off on camera?
Yeah, it's right here. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, that's no.
Yeah. Hold on.
Yeah, that's awesome. Okay.
So I've had difficulty cleaning this, but this is it. Up here is like,
extra material
so like the extra plaster
so this wasn't the indent in the ground really
but it's really
weird because like you
could tell there's like a heel mark here
then it goes down a bit
and then it comes back up
and then this I think
is a deer print
but then I don't know what this
is what this is
because whatever it was was pushed
down because there was a stick here
and then something that goes
up here a bit, almost like toes, and then this, and I don't know if it's a deer print, like part of a deer print either.
And it was just very weird, and I found a footprint the other day in a similar shape to this.
Like up here and here, like it had like a, like a, like this shaped feet.
So I don't know if it's just how the footprint turned out or what.
But where I found it was on a like a game trail.
So there's a bunch of deer prints in the area.
I also think it's a handprint too.
And if it was, whatever it was, is laying down and pressed its fingers in the ground.
But I still don't know what to think of the cast.
Hold on. I'm going to show you something real quick.
I'll be right back.
Okay.
So I don't get the chance to really bust this out on the show at all.
This is, so I can show you a cast of a handprint that we found in the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon last July of 25, okay?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
So if you see, can you see like how you've got like the ones going down?
Yeah.
It's really hard to see.
But that's how, when you look at it like this way, it's like the finger.
are into the mud. So you've got like these weird things that are left with a handprint cast when it's down in the mud. And so then you can look at this again. So you see how it's like where my pinky is pointing right there. That's like one of the fingers going down into the mud right there. So handprint casts are really weird. Yeah. It's weird to wrap your mind around them. But that's that's a good.
one. I think there's some in Krantz's book, maybe too, but this is an example of one you can keep
in mind. Cliff Berrickman helped, but Frank Neester was the guy who, the researcher that found it
initially, but that, maybe that will help when you're looking around the area in Houston
woods as well. Okay. Okay, so there you go. But yeah, thank you so much for sharing what you've
experience so far. Definitely keep us up to date with if you have any other experiences. And have you
talked to, do they have like, let's see, what would they have? Do they have rangers or anything
or camp hosts in that park? It's a state park. So I assume there's definitely like
Department of National Resources officers in the area. So, and just like a nature center
there too but I haven't talked to anyone or asked you on about it.
It might be interesting and this is all like how comfortable you are because it's kind of out of
a comfort zone at sometimes. But if you do want to kind of get out there a little bit with
your investigation, you could always say, hey, have you guys been hearing any weird stuff
around here or, you know, people seeing large, and you can say like creatures or figures or
or, etc.
Or seeing tracks or, you know, kind of take any of those and use that to, to, or people seeing
anything weird and you can leave it kind of vague too, you know.
But that might be fun.
It's all, it's all what your comfort level is, you know, sometimes.
those guys will talk.
Sometimes they won't.
But at the end of the day, that might be something fun to do.
But it sounds like there could be people seeing stuff there.
But as we said, as we both said, it's just not public yet.
So your citing could be the first public one and possibly in a group that's about to come out.
We'll see.
But Olivia, it has been fun chatting with you today.
Yeah.
And thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing with us all these things that have been happening pretty recent and keep us in the loop if you are able to notice anything out of the ordinary when you go back next time.
Yeah, I definitely will.
Have you ever heard all the accounts of Bigfoot activity around Oak Ridge, Oregon?
And you think to yourself, man, I would love to get out in those woods and experience it for myself.
Well, guess what?
This year, you can.
if this is interesting to you, stay tuned because it's pretty cool.
Sasquatch Summer Fest is coming up July 10th through the 11th, 2026.
It's going to be even better than the previous years.
You may know Jason Kenzie from his documentary series searching for Sasquatch.
Well, this year, you can not only go to the festival, but you can also sign up for
a track deep in the wild forest outside of Oak Ridge with Jason Kenzie to the Bigfoot spots to look for Bigfoot.
There's only eight spots to sign up for this.
And yes, this will also be filmed for the next chapter in his documentary series, which is searching for Sasquatch.
This is a once-in-lifetime deal.
It's just, trust me, it's going to be a wild, wild experience.
