Bigfoot Society - Horrifying Bigfoot Tales of Prince of Wales Island, Alaska (Archive Episode)

Episode Date: April 21, 2024

In this archives episode, we are digging into Bigfoot reports in the Prince of Wales Island area of South East Alaska. We start off first by talking with Alex, a retired Salvation Army Pastor who serve...d Klowack on Prince of Wales Island in south-east Alaska from 2010-2012. Join us as we delve into the fascinating topic of the intense belief in Sasquatch that all the people on this island have. (Episode recorded 3/31/23)I then share an interview with a timber worker about what he saw on the eastern side of Prince of Wales island. This individual is not one connected to the Bigfoot community. It's important to know that these two individuals are not connected yet their stories of Sasquatch from the same island definitely have similarities. Starting point is 00:01:57 I've got the privilege of chatting with Alex. And Alex is a retired Salvation Army pastor that served in Alaska. How are you doing tonight, Alex? Doing well yourself. Oh, I'm doing great, just hanging out on a nice Iowa night. Alex, how are you doing? Doing well. Just enjoying this Montana weather.
Starting point is 00:02:23 It's a little cold, a little bit snowy out here. It's nice. Oh, you know, I've talked to a few from Montana, and I know we're not talking about Montana tonight, but, man, there's some crazy Montana Bigfoot things happening. It's wild state. I've heard some stuff. I've heard a couple stories from, and I've had the privilege to meet a few of the Crow and Cheyenne people, and I've had a chance to chat with them about Bigfoot. And I've heard some pretty crazy stories about it. But tonight, Alex, we are here to first chat about, so I met you on TikTok for a little bit of context.
Starting point is 00:03:03 And you've had some interesting things happen during your time in Alaska and also some interesting things you've heard as well. And I would love to have you share those with my listeners tonight if you don't mind. I don't mind. Let's just get started. Right. I went to the Salvation Army there. I was stationed there. I was a pastor. I would be what you would call a lay pastor, which in their rank. The Salvation Army has quasi-arming ranks. So like the officers are called captains or lie-tentants or majors. And I as a lay pastor wasn't one of those, so I would have been called an envoy. So that would have been my title. But I ran the clock. church from June of 2010 to June of 2012. And the really crazy part is when I first went there, I didn't know anything about
Starting point is 00:04:03 Southeast Alaska. I didn't know anything about Prince of Wales Island where the walk is located. The walk in Prince of Wales are about three hours by ferry south of Ketchikan, southeast of Ketchikan. and they are about 45 minutes by plane. And the only way to get out to the island is either by a ferry boat or plane. So when I got off the boat, I met the captains who were leaving. They were the ones who'd been running the church the past few years, and they were leaving and moving on to Rangel, Alaska.
Starting point is 00:04:43 As soon as I got in the van, the captain, without knowing me or knowing anything, says to me, he said, Alex, let me tell you something. He said that this is something you'll need to know. He said that the people here take Bigfoot very seriously, like
Starting point is 00:05:02 dead serious. He said, they'll talk to you about Bigfoot. If you make fun of Bigfoot or if you make light of it, he said you'll offend people in the community and he said you'll never, you will have a really hard time in this community. It'll cause hard feelings.
Starting point is 00:05:18 never knew this guy, never met him, never discussed Bigfoot, didn't know anything about anything. And the instant I get in the van, that's the first thing he tells me. He said that these folks are really serious about Bigfoot here on Prince of Wales. And so I just thought that was crazy right from the gate, you know, because generally, if you walk up to someone you've never met and tell them that, you know, know, Bigfoot is real and that the people in the local area take Bigfoot very seriously, you might get one of two responses, well, okay, or, you know, something a lot of skeptics will be derisive. They'll be nasty or negative or make sarcastic comments. And Captain Ron said very clearly, don't do that here.
Starting point is 00:06:13 And he said, if they talk to you about Bigfoot, just smile, listen to what they say. and just say thank you for letting me know and don't, don't blow it off. So that was my introduction to Bigfoot on Prince of Wales Island. I knew Bigfoot was real because I had an experience with it when I was a kid. I actually saw one looking in my window. It was an albino Bigfoot back in 1978 in the river, Oregon. So I knew Bigfoot was real. They didn't have to tell me about it.
Starting point is 00:06:43 But Captain Ron didn't know me from Adam, didn't know anything about Bigfoot, didn't know about, you know, my history with Bigfoot. But so I learned right away that the people on Prince of Wales are, the people that I interacted with were the Klinket, the Haida, and the Simshian, and there were even some U-PIC folks, and U-Pick are my tribe. My father on my, on my father's side, his mother was U-Pick-Alaska native. As I was going along there and doing my duties in the Salvation Army, I had people sharing reports with me and things like that. But one of the things that particularly impressed me about them is I was told by one of their culture bearers.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Now, I don't have permission to use her name, so I won't. But she told me their stories about Bigfoot. And they believe in the Clinket tribe, at least in Clowoc, I don't know about the Clinket tribe in general because I had very limited interactions with clinkets from outside of Colac that they believe that Bigfoot led their people to what is now Colac
Starting point is 00:07:56 and that it showed them how to hunt and that Bigfoot showed them how to live on the island. And so they actually have Bigfoot in their family history. Really? In their clan history. One of the tribes, in particular, especially the one this one was with. If I tried to pronounce her tribal name, I would completely slaughter it, so I'm really not going to try to.
Starting point is 00:08:23 But suffice it to say that Bigfoot is a part of that tribe, and it's in the name of their tribe, their particular tribe in the Klinquet Nation. And so I thought that was very interesting. I really didn't meet anybody in Clowoc or Prince of Wales who hadn't either had a sighting directly or knew someone in their immediate family who had a sighting. And I talked to many different people out there and the clinkets now on Clowoc,
Starting point is 00:09:01 there's a bit of a thing because a lot of people think that this Cushitaca is a big foot. Now, from what I was told by a tribal elder from Saxman, which is in Ketchikan. He said that the Kushtika is like the skinwalker. It's an evil spirit, a shapeshifter. And in Klingit, Kushtika means land otterman. And so it's very interesting.
Starting point is 00:09:34 But according to Captain Joe and some of the elders from, when we had celebration in Kloak one year, they had a gathering of the other plinkets from around southeast Alaska and they all came and they were saying that the tribal elders from several of the different areas like in, you know, Juneau and some of the other cities around in southeast Alaska
Starting point is 00:10:02 like Sitka and some of the other places. They said the Kushika is not a big foot. They said it's an evil spirit or a spirit, and it can be benevolent or harmful, depending on its feelings at the time. But they said it's not biological. It's never been human, and it doesn't have children, it doesn't reproduce, and it doesn't propagate or do anything that the Bigfoot do. And so anyway, now the folks in the Walk do call Bigfoot Cushikaa. And they believe that Kushtikaa is Bigfoot. But I know in, like I said, meeting with the other tribal elders,
Starting point is 00:10:49 they felt differently about it. So I'll just say that it is what it is. But that was the understanding that I had from different folks. The funny thing, though, about this Kushtika, though, is this tribal elder from Saxman told me that they're always seen with orbs and spiritual phenomenon. And they are the things that people see that travel interdimensionally. And he said that they can appear as Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:11:21 They can take on the form of Bigfoot. But he said they're not Bigfoot's. And he said that he feels, and this was his opinion, that a lot of the people who see like, quote unquote UFOs or, or other spiritual bigfoot are actually seeing a shape shifter. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. I'm not a clinket. I don't speak for them.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I can only tell you what their tribal elders told me. Alex, I've got a quick question for you. That is extremely fascinating. And I was not expecting any of that at all. When you said spiritual phenomenon, right? Or phenomena. You said, Orbs and Spiritual Phenomena,
Starting point is 00:12:10 what else would fall into that category? One person related to me a sighting of this Kushika in Ketchikan. And they said that it, it, you've seen the movie Predator, right? Sure. How the Predator goes invisible. Mm-hmm. They said it did that.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Really? The Kushtika. the kushikaa. Wow. And they said that it looked like a part otter, part man is what they said. But they said it shifted into like a fish and jumped into the water like a salmon, like a really large salmon and jumped into the water. And but they said that it had orbs floating around it.
Starting point is 00:13:03 And it said that they, the orbs were glowing, different colors. And I think that actually, and I'm not saying all UFO phenomenon, but I think some of the UFO phenomenon associated with Bigfoot are actually the spiritual orbs that these shapeshippers are able to manifest. And my understanding is they can actually travel
Starting point is 00:13:28 in between dimensions is what they tell me. So I think that when people see a Bigfoot that's traveling interdimensionally, I don't think that's a big foot. And it's not only them that say that. I've talked to Navajo, Zunis, Hopis, Sue, I've talked to Crow, I've talked to Cheyenne, I've talked to Utes.
Starting point is 00:13:54 I know as a Yupic person, we have a legend of the Amakuk, which is the same type of creature. It's also associated with spirit, phenomenon like orbs appearing and disappearing. Like you would follow the footprints of it, for example, and it would go in a straight line and it would travel for so long and then it would just stop.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And it has nowhere to go. Have you ever been in talk to any individuals by the Uinta Basin part of Utah? I have not to my knowledge. No, I have not. And that's the Skinwalker Ranch. Just a random thing I wanted to throw in there just in case. But it's just very interesting to me about all these different things.
Starting point is 00:14:46 But like the actual Bigfoot in Prince of Wales are different here than I think in the lower 48. Because they, you know, I've heard of Bigfoot doing this in other places, but I've never actually seen it personally. in Kloak and in Heideburg and Cassan and Thorn Bay and Whale Pass and Kauffman Cove and some of the other cities on Prince of Wales. They've actually been witnessed by locals, the Bigfoot, the real Bigfoot, not the Cushita Ka. The actual, honest-to-God, Sasquatch. they've been observed pulling trees up by the roots out of the ground that are like alive, pulling them out of the ground,
Starting point is 00:15:40 and then turning them upside down and shoving them like three to four feet into the ground with the roots facing up toward the sky. And the clinket elders told me they do that to mark their territory. And that if you see that, you know that's their territory and you're supposed to leave and not go around there. because they said if you do, they'll get really aggressive with you. They'll like throw rocks, they'll throw sticks. But if you don't leave, then there's actually been reports of them like grabbing a hold of people and throwing them against trees and hurting them and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Incredible reports from people who were like police officers, former military, you know, people who aren't known in the community to be liars, hoaxers, or storytellers. They don't use drugs or alcohol. They're not mentally incapacitated or ill. They're just people who saw something really crazy that they couldn't explain. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. See terms at Vimmo.com. I-D verification required to use a Vimob balance. Folks knew the Colonel approved of his new honey-chilly crisp and jalapena ranch
Starting point is 00:17:44 sauces the moment he tasted them and said, that's right. No notes. Just absolute silence. Turns out some flavors don't need explaining. They just need dipping. It's saucy season at KFC with new honey, chili crisp and jalapeno ranch. Get dipping with a boneless bucket today. Prices and participation vary.
Starting point is 00:18:10 How many toes do the big foot have on each foot in that area? Do you know? The track I saw had five. Okay. Do you know if there's any, is it talked about in that area of certain individuals? I've heard of four foot. Or four-toed. I've heard of a four-toed bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Okay, so you know what I'm talking about. I do. I also heard they were reddish in color. Yep. And they were smaller than the regular Bigfoot. And they were like way more aggressive. This is what I was doing. So, Alex, this is wild.
Starting point is 00:18:45 This is wild. Yeah, they are hyper, hyper aggressive. They are actually called cannibal. If they catch you in the forest, they will kill. you and eat you. And a lot of natives believe that that particular tribe of Bigfoot are responsible for people disappearing in like national forests and stuff like that in Alaska. And it's just, it's really, really interesting stuff. And by, it's really funny because science is always saying there's no evidence for Bigfoot and things like that. And yet you have native tribes who I
Starting point is 00:19:27 personally interacted with in Canada like the Ojibwa and others and you would you know some of the other first nations and in Canada who are geographically separated
Starting point is 00:19:43 from you know these other natives than like the southwest of the U.S. like in the Navajo and like Arizona and New Mexico and places like that.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And yet they have the same legends of the same creatures. And they have them right alongside eagle, bear, you know, horse, beaver, you know, scorpion, snake. And, you know, they're actually reporting on creatures that they see in real life. To the natives, Bigfoot is as real as you and I. And, you know, they're always, they're always like, they always think it's funny, the natives I've talked to. Because I'll talk to them about Bigfoot. And they're like, oh, the white man believes in that now, huh?
Starting point is 00:20:40 You know, it's like, we've been knowing about that for years. This is old news to us. Yeah, they're like, these white scientists come around here looking for Bigfoot. And we tell them they're stupid. And I'm like, okay, why? And they said, because if Bigfoot wants to find you, he'll find you. you don't find Bigfoot, he finds you, you know, and stuff like that. I know the clinkets told their kids to stay out of the forest and rest their together
Starting point is 00:21:07 and to be careful when they're walking in the woods, to use the buddy system and to make sure that they're always watching the area that they live in, especially if those weird red redish colored hair colored Sasquatch are running around so Alex
Starting point is 00:21:31 the crazy thing is is that and I have to be really careful about what I say but I talk to a lot of people and all the things you said about those those four-toed big I've heard from at least one other person
Starting point is 00:21:46 in another state not Alaska and it's not just like you are absolutely right because I've heard this same almost details told that they happen even down to pulling up the tree by the roots and putting it upside down and that's all I can say right now. It's just incredible how you
Starting point is 00:22:08 your story had so many similarities. Do you think does that foretoed tribe is in different states or just in the Pacific Northwest or I think they am at the across the Lamp Bering Strait Land Bridge, the same as the other big foots. I'm almost wondering, based on the descriptions that people have given me, if maybe they're not some throwback to the orangutan or something.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Some of the people I've heard describe them in a way that almost makes them sound like orangutans. It's also interesting because a lot of people, they think orangutans are these, you know, calm and peaceful apes and yet orangutans will grab a hold of you know other animals rip them apart and eat them you know even their own young so you know that's that's just the thing is that I've heard a lot of bad reports and from what I understand is that red hair tribe I know there was some tribe I was talking to a guy who was hoopah and he said there's omah, Omar or omaha.
Starting point is 00:23:21 And he said that means the boss of the woods, like the boss, the king of the woods, the owner of the woods, the leader of the woods, whatever. He said the omas are different than those guys. And he said that the omah will leave you alone if you leave them alone.
Starting point is 00:23:40 The other guys, the four toes. And he had a name for them, but I do not, I could not, pronounce it. I'm very sorry. I guess my linguistic skills are a little weird, but he pronounced it, and my ear and my mouth just could not, my brain and my mouth could not coordinate to form the words. No problem. If any listeners know of that name, feel free to send me an email at Bigfoot Society at gmail.com. So much stuff I learned in Clowoc, and then there's my own siding. And
Starting point is 00:24:14 to walk. I didn't actually have a personal sighting because I was distracted during the event that happened. If you want, I'll get into my siting real quick. Oh, absolutely. And we can get other stuff
Starting point is 00:24:29 after if you like or not. Sure. Okay. My brother Morgan and my sister Tara, my brother Morgan passed away three years ago. I really wish that he was still alive because he could tell you
Starting point is 00:24:44 like what he saw and some of the stuff he observed that I didn't observe during the event. But what happened was we were going up Big Saul Road, Big Salt Lake Road, that's a road that leads from Clowoc to Thorn Bay or to Kauffman Cove. If you go right, you go to Thorn Bay. If you go left, you go to Coffman Cove. So I turned left on Prince of Wales Island Road And we were heading towards Kauffman Cove Which is where we were going to go and visit
Starting point is 00:25:18 It's really pretty out there There's a pebble beach And it's really nice And I wanted to take my brother and sister up here And show it to them And so anyway, we get about a quarter of a mile Half a mile or so up up the road Prince of Wales Island Road
Starting point is 00:25:37 And my brother's diabetic it. So he's like, Alex, can you stop? I got to use the rest for him. And so I'm looking for a place to pull off. And I see what it looks like it was either like an old logging road or something. I'm not sure, but it was like it looked like at one time it had been a logging road, but it hadn't been used in a while. And so we pulled off into there. And he gets out and he's he's urinating. And then he comes back around the corner and he goes, hey, Alex, come here. and I'm like, what, man, it's cold. You know, it's April. It's cold. There's snow on the ground. I don't want to get out. You know, but he's like, come here, you need to look at this.
Starting point is 00:26:19 And so I'm like, okay. And I get out and he calls me over. I walk over to him. And in a snowbank, there were three tracks. And the tracks were about, I'd say roughly about five feet apart. And they were in a straight line. which is weird, you know, because when people walk, they walk, you know, side by side with their feet. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:26:47 These look like somebody who was balancing on a tie rope or something. It was weird. But there was three tracks and they were in the snow. The ground was hard. So it didn't leave like, it did leave an impression, but it didn't leave like a deep impression. The tracks were about, I have, I wear a size 14 triple E, and these were a couple inches longer than mine, so I'd say about a 16 or a 17,
Starting point is 00:27:21 and its feet were wider than mine. Somebody asked me about how big I thought it was, and I'll tell you what, I am not a math person, okay? Math is actually my worst subject. So I say, well, I think they're about three or four inches. When I told Morgan that, he was like, you idiot. And I was like, he was like, those things were like six, seven inches apart, man. And they were six, seven inches wide.
Starting point is 00:27:46 He was like, they're not three to four inches, you idiot, you know, and he was the best manned at me. So that's one of the reasons why I was glad he was there because I have a real problem with like looking at something and reckoning how big it is, you know. And he doesn't. Morgan is very mathematical. He, you know, was very logical and factual. And so he, yes, the shoe was a 16 or a 7. It would have been, if it were wearing shoes, the foot would have been like a 16 or a 17.
Starting point is 00:28:19 And it was wider than my triple E. And so we're looking at it and we're like, Morgan had pictures of it, but unfortunately when he passed away, the pictures were lost and I don't have any photos left of them but the other part was we got chased out before we could do any measurement or anything
Starting point is 00:28:45 because he was like he told me he said why don't you do that big foot screen you do and so I did it and I'm not going to do it right now because it would like blow our audio out but it's it's just a basic screen I did that and then about 20, 30, 10, 20, 30, I don't know, seconds later, something grabs a hold of a big old tree
Starting point is 00:29:11 and starts shaking that sucker back and forth. It was whipping it back and forth, and that was a good-sized tree. Whatever was grabbing a hold of that tree, it was monstrously strong, monstrously strong. And then, like, we start hearing, like, you know, branches breaking and stuff like that. And then off to my right, I'd say about 10 or 20 feet away,
Starting point is 00:29:44 I hear a, and then again it goes, real loud and aggressive, just like that, scared the livin piss out of me. And whatever vocalization that thing was doing, I could feel it in my body. It resonated in my body. you know what I mean? And it was like,
Starting point is 00:30:09 I was like, we need to get the hell out of here now. And then so we all jump in the van, get out, peel out of there, and I head straight back to the church. I'm done. You know, I saw a big foot when I was a kid. You know,
Starting point is 00:30:26 it would be interesting to see another one, but let's not and say we did, right? But when we get back, Morgan tells me he actually saw one, taking its head out from behind the tree. He said it had a very large head. He said it had, it was black. The skin on the face was black and the hair was black.
Starting point is 00:30:50 And it had like brownish eyes. And he said he saw it for about a second or two and it popped back behind the tree. And he said it was probably about seven to eight feet off the ground where the head was. and that's pretty much the experience we had with that. Now, I went back and I talked to one of the clinket elders, his name is Al Jackson,
Starting point is 00:31:16 and I actually do have permission to use his name. On Prince of Wales, they call him Mr. Bigfoot. Whenever anybody in any of the tribes has a Bigfoot siding, they go and tell Al Jackson about it. Anyway, he was featured on the show Monsters and Mysteries in Alaska. they actually interviewed him for that. That was, I don't remember what year that was, was 2011, 2012, 2010. I can't remember.
Starting point is 00:31:46 But anyway, he was on that show and they interviewed him. And he took him up there up on Clowoc Mountain where those upside down trees are. And he showed the guy and the guy actually took pictures of him and videoed him. And the thing that's weird about those trees on, to walk. There's no rope marks, chain marks, nothing. And that's not something that's, you know, like a flood or something happened and, you know, or a windstorm and that just happened because there's actually out in that area, there's a bunch of them. And, you know, they're in kind of weird places. But like if you see those and you're out in the forest in in, in near
Starting point is 00:32:40 Kloak mountain, if you see those or around Kloch or Hydeburg, if you see those trees, you're supposed to leave the area and not go near there. You're not supposed to hunt there. You're not supposed to fish there and you're not supposed to go around there. And the elders also said that if you see a Bigfoot out there, they said, don't look them in the face because they take it like you're trying to challenge them. And they said, don't look it in the eye. Look down to your right or your left. And they said, just back away slowly. And there's just so many stories I heard about Bigfoot. It's just crazy. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. It's a safe, effective backup birth control option that helps prevent pregnancy before it

Hey, I just Venmoed you for rent. Nice. Now I can instantly spend it whether I'm checking out online with Venmo or using a Venmo debit card. Say more. Starting point is 00:34:15 Venmo checkout not available with all merchants. Venmo Mastercard is issued by the Bank Bank N. Picture the two of you sitting side by side. a Mai Tai in your hands and the sounds of Hawaii around you. You almost forget you're on a plane. And that's the point, because when you fly with Hawaiian Airlines, it's hard to tell where your flight ends and vacation begins. Hawaii starts here.
Starting point is 00:34:43 I mean, I'd never met a people who were so open to share their culture and their stories and their traditions with an outsider to their tribe. Because they would just tell you stuff. I mean, and they didn't like try to hide it or, you know, it wasn't, they had stories that they wouldn't tell people, obviously. But like if it was about Bigfoot
Starting point is 00:35:14 or about their clans or their totems or, you know, the stuff they believe in spiritually, they tell you all about it. You know, we had a lady who was a culture bearer who was a good friend of my wife and I, we used to go over there and listen to her tell tales about their creation stories. And it's kind of funny because their stories are very similar to other tribal stories I've heard about creation. Do those stories have anything to do with Bigfoot?
Starting point is 00:35:45 Absolutely. Really? Mm-hmm. He's one of the big feet, one of the big people in their beliefs, I don't want to say mythology because it's actually real. They actually talk about stuff that they really observe out in nature. Now, you know, people will take it or believe it or disbelieve it. To a skeptic, everything's a dude in a suit or, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:16 a misidentified black bear or brown bear or something like that because to a skeptic, no amount of evidence other than a physical body, well even if you brought them a physical body they might not accept it as evidence you know they might say oh people just made that up that's stupid to a person who really doesn't want to hear the subject there's nothing you can say to convince them but you know to a skeptic everything's a dude in the suit and I told a skeptic one time I told him I said so if everybody's a dude in the suit you're telling me that these
Starting point is 00:36:56 there's some society of hoaxers who've been jumping out on Native Americans since time in memorial here in North America, Alaska, China, Russia, Asia, you know, Australia. You know, there's a society of hoaxers around the world who are wearing suits and jumping out in monkey suits and scaring people for the last thousand, two thousand, three thousand, however many years. You know what I mean? I said either that's what you're saying it has to be, or there is actually a real living creature that's out there right now today, roaming the forests of different countries around the world, and people are seeing it, and either they're all liars and hoaxers,
Starting point is 00:37:50 or it's true and there's something to it. Now, do I believe every single Bigfoot story? No, I do not. But you can usually tell if somebody's really had a Bigfoot sighting because they have tells. You know what I mean? One of the things that I watch people is their eyes. People who've really seen something, you can see it in their eyes.
Starting point is 00:38:18 You know what I mean? what is it that you usually see in their eyes? Oh, yeah. Somebody who's really seen a big foot up close and personal. Not, you know, somebody who's seen it like, you know, 75, 100 yards away and they're looking at it through a scope or parabenoculars or something. I'm talking about like somebody like me as a kid who saw an albino bigfoot looking in his window and was three to four feet from it.
Starting point is 00:38:53 But like I said, to a skeptic, everything's a viewed in a suit or a bear. You mentioned how you've seen the look of trauma in someone who's actually seen a big foot up close. Is that a look that you would see often in that cloac area? People have had an up-close and personal experience, yes. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. completely. It changes you. It also shreds your brain. Imagine as a seven-year-old kid
Starting point is 00:39:25 looking out your window and seeing something looking in at you that science, religion, and all the other people out there say doesn't exist. In one fell swoop, your brain now questions everything. Because a big, exist, nothing is off the table. Because I've heard, as a kid growing up, I'd heard stories about Bigfoot, but I'd put that in the same place as unicorns, trolls, elves, you know, rainbow bright stuff, you know, that kind of stuff. Okay, that's where I put Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:40:14 But when you look out your window and you see one of those suckers looking in at you, you're done. And that changes you. Literally, they actually have done brain scans on people who've passed polygraphs and stuff for Bigfoot. And they have a different response in their brain to processing information than people who have not seen one. Wow. And they have a strong trauma response when they talk about it. and that that is something you can't fake.
Starting point is 00:40:55 I mean, people, if somebody tells me they've seen a big foot, I just look them in the eye. And I do. If they're smiling, if they're laughing, you know, if they're just like, you know, not taking it seriously, I don't listen to anything they say. I saw a guy who was a Navy SEAL. I kid you not, a guy I met,
Starting point is 00:41:20 who was a Navy SEAL, okay? He had his DD-214s, his military ID, all of that. He told me, he said, I was a Navy SEAL, and he said, seeing an effing Bigfoot changed my life forever. He said, because now, he said, I used to go in the forest all the time, I used to hunt, fish, hike, I can't do that anymore. He said, because that scared me so bad. He said, I was in Vietnam.
Starting point is 00:41:51 He said, I faced every type of human and animal that you can show me. He said, I fought bears. I fought people. He said, I fought wolves, tigers, lions, all kinds of stuff. And he said, there is nothing that scared me like that Bigfoot. And for a guy who was a Navy SEAL to say something like that, that's telling you something about Bigfoot. Did he mention where he had seen that Bigfoot? what area?
Starting point is 00:42:19 Yeah, near Pikes Peak in Colorado. The first thing is, you know, in that Kloak area, everyone has either seen or knows someone that has seen Bigfoot. Is there, are there stories that are always passed around in that area as like the ultimate encounter slash story? Like this story proves that they're out there. anything that the story you kept hearing over and over and over again referred to? There was one
Starting point is 00:42:52 and it was told to me I actually Al Jackson introduced me to 10 people again he's Mr. Bigfoot. He's a blanket elder and he introduced me to these guys
Starting point is 00:43:10 and they all told the same story that they had a big foot walk out. There was a cedar mill on the outskirts of Clawk where they processed cedar wood and stuff like that. And they had a big foot walk right through the middle of
Starting point is 00:43:28 the factory or the sawmill, excuse me. And it was howling, letting out this horrible screech. It scared them so bad they wouldn't go back there again to work for like a month. And these These were people in the community who are well known in the community as honest, God-fearing people who are not hoaxers, not pranksters, not liars, not alcoholics or drug addicts, don't have mental illness.
Starting point is 00:44:03 They're just people who saw something really crazy they couldn't explain. And I believed them. They all saw it. And they heard it walking through the middle of their. their work site. That almost sounds like a a portlock type situation except for
Starting point is 00:44:23 there wasn't a massive amount of people being killed but they did leave the area and not return. That's really, really interesting. And plus the Haida now in Heideburg, they actually have a name for their big foot. They call it Goghit.
Starting point is 00:44:43 It means like wild man or something like that. and they've had some stories like Bigfoot like you know rolling rocks through people's windows or their doors stuff like that
Starting point is 00:45:01 living up there and this is a totally random question did you have any thoughts about missing 4-1 or run into any situations regarding that they've had children adults and people go missing in the forest
Starting point is 00:45:28 that were not found um they do have black bear on the island um they're not they probably get up to about two three hundred pounds but the average of it is about
Starting point is 00:45:46 150 200 pounds and they're I mean, if you run into one, obviously, you know, it would cause damage, but, you know, it's just weird. Because when you have bear kills, you know, you find body parts, you know, you find where the bear grabbed them off. You see blood marks, stuff like that. These are people who disappeared and are never seen again, not hiding her hair. not clothing. They may have been carrying rifles or fishing equipment.
Starting point is 00:46:24 It's all gone. And nobody ever finds it. Would you ever talk to hear from people that would run into large animals that would have their necks broken, almost twisted and broken? I've gotten reports of that from Montana where like even creatures like grizzlies would have their necks broken and stumble upon animals like that. In Kloch, when the bigfuss kill something or on Prince of Wales, they eat it. So you don't find animals usually that are just preyed upon and not eaten.
Starting point is 00:47:06 So I would say that they have found animals who were killed. Like one, it had its skull crushed in. And the way it was done, it doesn't make sense that it would be a big. because if a bear did it, you'd have, you know, claw marks and stuff like that. What it looked like is somebody took like a hammer and hit the, uh, the deer in the head,
Starting point is 00:47:38 just like one hit. And, you know, who could run down a deer and hit it in the head with a hammer? I don't know. Just saying, that's, that's intense. That is intense.
Starting point is 00:47:54 How long ago, again, in that Kloak region? 2010, June 2010 to June 2012. I still hear stories about stuff going on out there. I was going to ask you. So there's still events unfolding in that area.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Oh, wow. That place is a paradise for Bigfoot, man. It's got fish, one part of coal. has a salt lake. The other part has a freshwater lake. And you have like crabs, you have like shrimp, you have like seals, you have like different fish.
Starting point is 00:48:40 You have all kinds. I mean, it's actually a temperate rainforest is what Kowok is classified as. And Prince of Wales. And so you have like lichen, you have like all kinds of fruit. They have like gooseberries, salmon berries, salmon berries. boise and berries, blueberries. They've got all kinds of berries around there. It's literally like the animals there don't starve.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Sounds like a perfect environment. Yep. So they've said, I know one guy he reported the siting where he said he saw Bigfoot take a rock and there was a seal swimming in the water and the Bigfoot beamed it in the head and then slam out, grabbed it, threw it over its shoulder, slammed back to shore and walk off into the forest. That's why I like when people tell me Bigfoot throw rocks at them, I know for a fact the Bigfoot aren't aiming at them directly. Starting point is 00:51:00 Everyone stays entertained, and your vacation gets ahead. start. Enjoy every moment of your trip, even before you land. Hawaii starts here. They're just trying to scare you and drive you out of their area. They will throw it at you if you don't like you don't get the hint and leave. You know what I mean? But like they, they've had reports of them doing that to deer to, you know, I've heard in Anchorage. I heard reports of them doing it to moose. I actually heard of a big foot running down a moose. Anchorage.
Starting point is 00:51:35 Out in Denali Forest, there was a couple of hunters out there. You're not actually supposed to carry firearms
Starting point is 00:51:43 in Denali Park. But, you know, a lot of people disregard that because there's frigging huge grizzly bears
Starting point is 00:51:51 out there. And if you encounter one, they're not afraid of people at all. And if they're hungry,
Starting point is 00:51:58 they'll eat the crap out of you. So a lot of people do carry rifles out there and whatnot. But anyway, they saw a big foot run down a moose, grab it, and break its neck, and drop it like a bad habit. And they said it literally picked the moose up.
Starting point is 00:52:17 And this is a huge moose. They said it was probably seven foot from the top of the head down. And they said that thing threw it over its shoulder and walked off. They said the big foot was about nine feet tall. And they said it was built like a brick shite house. is what the guy said. He said that that thing was frigging massive. And he said it easily picked it up, threw it over its shoulder, and walked away.
Starting point is 00:52:44 The strength of a big foot is unfreaking real. That's why when I hear people saying they'll shoot one, I talked to one of the elders about that. I said, does anybody ever shot one? He goes, hell no. What do you think we're stupid? We're not going to shoot them. They live in families out there.
Starting point is 00:53:01 if you see one big foot there's two or three others surrounding you if you shoot one the others will come in and kill you so that's why i laugh when i hear people saying they're going to shoot a big foot it's like you better hope it's alone you can you can try to shoot a big foot but it doesn't sound like you'll be getting away alive potentially did you ever have any reports of um people hearing a lot of vocalization in that area. Oh, yeah, I heard of myself. Oh, really? What kind of things did you hear? Well, I've heard whoops, you know, like that. And there's nothing in Clowoc and on Prince of Wales that makes that kind of noise. I've heard that.
Starting point is 00:54:03 I've heard, I've heard growls, obviously, that thing I heard. They go like that. at me. I heard that. I also heard one that kind of reminded me of that B.C. how thinker-thunker put it on his site. I can't even imitate it. It's like real weird and high-pitched and it's just like it sounds really bizarre, but it sounded like that. And then I heard one once that was almost like that Ohio Moldau. Sure. Some people do like that.
Starting point is 00:54:42 That kind of stuff. You know what I mean? I heard something very like that. And then I heard one that was like a scream. And it sounded like Cliff Berrickman used to do it on finding Bigfoot, beginning of it. You do this scream and it'd be like, you just go like that. and I heard something like that, but it was a lot louder, and it carried for miles, and like, you could feel it.
Starting point is 00:55:25 And one of the neighbor's dogs, when I heard that, ears went down, tail went between its legs, and that thing yiped, went in the house, and wouldn't come out for a week. It was hiding under the bed. It actually went all over itself and defecated on itself. it was so terrified. So you've definitely heard a few things when you were up there. Did anyone ever report anything similar to like language or something that sounded like language or anything like that? If you're talking about like that samurai chatter one, no. Okay. I never heard anything like that.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Gotcha. If you're talking about that, what's that guy's name? Oh, I can't think of that gentleman's name. he's he's got that Sierra sounds yeah I was it's this pretty much the same thing that's what I was referring to yeah yeah I I have never heard anybody say they heard anything like that got you
Starting point is 00:56:27 yeah but you're sound you're hearing all sorts of things up there that is so interest it's it's crazier that I haven't heard more about this particular area and maybe it's just because I'm not overly familiar with the Alaska Bigfoot scene but but man, Kloak, Alaska definitely seems like it's the place you should go if you wanted to
Starting point is 00:56:50 research. Is this a place you can just walk into though, or is it all like you have to be associated with the particular tribes in order to go to that area? Well, it really depends.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Okay. Because like Craig Alaska, is not a tribal town. It's actually a town for people who are like not natives. And I don't mean native to Prince of Wales. I mean like people who are not Native American. A lot of them live there in Craig.
Starting point is 00:57:33 And there's a guy out in Craig whose name, for the life of me, I cannot think of that man's name. But he researches Bigfoot out there. He'll take you around. Generally, it's a good idea to reach out to people online. Because there are people out there in Craig or other places who let it be known that they are looking for Bigfoot on Prince of Wales. If you Google it, you can usually find somebody's name pop up. And you can always email them and see what they have to say.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Gotcha. Do a little dig in. It sounds like you'll find them. Definitely. And like I said, I cannot for life You think of that guy's name I haven't talked to him since like 2011 I'm not even sure if he's even still alive to be honest
Starting point is 00:58:36 Gotcha, yeah definitely He was an older man and I don't know if he's still Living or even active Like I said, that was like You know, all those years ago So yeah exactly Well Alex
Starting point is 00:58:52 This has been an amazing chat about an area of Alaska, I think deserves more respect for sure. I know it gets my respect now, no question. I want to thank you for coming on this show and for chatting for a bit. I mean, we could talk for hours on all the stories I think. No, I think we've covered the basics. I think we've covered enough. The one thing I do want to add, though, is that just that,
Starting point is 00:59:26 a lot of people out there think that the interdimensional bigfoot stuff is bigfoot. I just want to propose to people that it might not be a bigfoot. It really might be a shapeshipping spirit. Now, I'm not saying to people who are diehard believers, that Bigfoot is an interdimensional travel or a UFO not or whatever. I wouldn't for the life of me disparage them. I know people have had their experiences and I know they
Starting point is 00:59:59 believe what they believe. And so I would never try to challenge that or disrespect that. But I would just like to put a bug in somebody's ear, you know, to just think about that when you're talking about Bigfoot and saying that they're associated with orbs or UFOs or
Starting point is 01:00:17 like they walk into a forest and they disappear and the tracks stop dead and there's nowhere for them to disappear to that you might not actually have encountered a Bigfoot. You might have encountered a Skinwalker, a Amacook, or a Kushikah, or whatever. Just a thought. That's all I got. It hasn't been a lot of fun.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Yeah. Thank you for coming on, Alex. All right, Bigfoot Society. You've got the privilege of talking to Dylan from Prince of Wales Island up in southeast Alaska today. How's it going, Dylan? I'm pretty good. How are you? Doing well. I'm excited to talk to you on the phone. I was trying to see if I could get a hold of anyone that actually lives on the island and has had some bigfoot encounters and through some posts that I made in some groups. We were able to get connected. And so background on yourself, you do work in the
Starting point is 01:01:20 timber industry up there in Prince of Wales, but you said that you do have some interesting sightings to share with the podcast listeners. I'm going to let you take the floor and I know you've had a few times where you've seen Sasquatch over the years, but I'll have you start wherever you feel is a good starting point. Okay. I guess I could start with the first time I seen one. I lived on the island now for about four years. And the first time I come up, I have a friend who lives in Cassan, which is in the, there's a peninsula sticking out towards Ketchikan. And there's a little town on that peninsula. You can drive to it.
Starting point is 01:02:05 And it's a old native village. But we went crab fishing. That bay there, it's a pretty good place to go fishing. And we were throwing pots over. and I looked over to go mark the buoy and I seen a shake moving between these two islands and we didn't think anything about it. Kept putting around, putting pots in.
Starting point is 01:02:29 We got closer and closer to this thing. I thought it was a log. There's lots of logs floating around after storms, deadheads, and if you hit it with your boat, you'll get a hole or mess up your prop. So I told him and he took a look at it and he said, That ain't a lot. That is a, they call them a Kushtika. It's the native Alaskan people here.
Starting point is 01:02:53 They believe in these creatures that live near water. And they make these siren sounds like babies crying, women crying at night, to draw men towards the water and they pull them in and eat them. That's the story. And he wanted to get really close to it. kill it. We got in a fight. I didn't want him to mess with this thing. She was going to bring us in the water and kill us. But we got fairly close and looked at it through a scope on our rifle, and it was swimming pretty fast over towards this island that has a bunch of berry bushes,
Starting point is 01:03:33 no trees. And I didn't think nothing of it. I thought it was a weird looking bear. But he swore up and down that that was indeed a Cushika or a Sasquatch. I'm pretty, sure that they're about the same thing. And I didn't see nothing for a long time after that for about three years. And then last year, I went to the Carter River wilderness. And I was going to go to the lake, take a week off of work and have a big fishing trip. Start at the lake and make my way down the river and then go beach sainan and then get picked up. So I was at the cabin at the lake for two, three days and headed off down towards the mouth of the river where there's another cabin. And this area is very overgrown. It ain't been logged, I think ever. So there's nine,
Starting point is 01:04:29 10 foot, sick of spruce, very dense canopy, very dark. And that year we got 15 feet of rain. So it was raining nonstop the whole time. It's very dark. And when it's raining, you don't have a very good sense of anything. Hearing or vision, smell, you can't really, I don't know how to describe it. You're almost numb walking through that stuff. And a bunch of salmon, very bushes, extremely dense. So I walked around a corner on the river. And I was going to go throw in, see if I could get a couple of Sakai.
Starting point is 01:05:12 they were running. It was about June. And I peered over and I thought it was a bear because it black and it was looking down. So it looked like a snout of some kind. But I got closer to it and it looked up. It heard me. And we were just staring at each other across the river. Its head looked up. I saw its eyes and it was now a bear because bears don't, bears have snouts. They don't have flat faces. It didn't stick around long, tuck. I'm thinking probably about two, three seconds, and it was gone, turned around, ran. It's about it. I don't know what else to give you.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Dylan, when you saw the creature for a few seconds, do you remember it had a particular shape to that head that you saw? Yeah, pretty long head, but a small face, if that makes any sense. really big forehead. Just freaking huge. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. Starting point is 01:07:13 Picture the two of you sitting side by side, a Mai Tai in your hands, and the sounds of Hawaii around you. You almost forget you're on a plane. And that's the point, because when you fly with Hawaiian Airlines, it's hard to tell where your flight ends and vacation begins.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Hawaii starts here. Okay. and yellow eyes and a real big eyebrow. By big eyebrow, do you mean the actual hair of the eyebrow or the ridge? I mean, it's all covered in here, but you could see that area was like a bump across the whole forehead one big bump. Would you say most of the face was covered with hair or only certain parts? The face part, it almost looked like an eye. Amish guy.
Starting point is 01:08:07 You know how they'll shave the mustache, they have a big beard from the sideburns all the way around, look like that. Did you notice anything particular about the nose of the creature at all? Pretty flat and people have round nostrils. This thing had more like a slit-looking thing. Did it show its teeth at all? Any emotion that you got from its face in the few seconds that you saw? I think it was surprised, looked at me pretty wide-eyed, one of those stunned looks for a second, like a deer in the headlights.
Starting point is 01:08:45 It sounds like you were able to see it move a little bit, moving on two legs or are on four? It moved on two. It stood up and just turned away and walked. You were able to see the hands at all or what's the lower part covered by bushes or something like that? No, he was in the river. So saw the hands, they's wet, but they were there. Did you notice anything out of the ordinary about the hands? Oh, they had thumbs for sure. They weren't more feet.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Gotcha. And the hair covered all the way down to the hands. Oh, yeah. Looking at the face of the creature, let's say if you had to put it in a category, in human category and you have ape category or I guess maybe you have something completely different. Could you put it in any of those categories?
Starting point is 01:09:40 I mean, it looked more eight for sure. It has big cheeks brown. Like what is that thing? The orange ones from Asia or orangutan. Oh really? It reminded you of an orangutan look. Oh yeah. For sure.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Because of the cheeks. Okay, yeah, I'm picturing that in my head. I know exactly what you're talking about. Length of the hair. Did you notice anything in regards to how long the hair was? It's pretty shaggy, so it had to have been fairly thick. What that would be, maybe three, four inches thick, like a shag-rug-looking deal. Did you notice a color to the hair at all? Yeah, like a dark brown, black looking, very dark color.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Were you able to see the feet or lower legs at all? Yeah. Okay. Did you notice anything about the feet or the legs at all? Not anything other than they had two, two feet. Definitely no shoes. The hair went pretty much clear down there, but I couldn't tell you in detail what the feet looked like. What was the weather like at this time?
Starting point is 01:10:53 Rainer. Temperature? Oh, probably about 60, 65 degrees. Okay. Did you notice any particular smell at this time? Yeah. It was frankly one of the worst smells I've ever smelled in my life. Wet, mangy.
Starting point is 01:11:13 You ever been to an animal shelter and smelled that weird, rancid, sweaty dog smell. Yeah. And you could smell across the river. Okay. Remind me how far away roughly you were. again? I would say between 40 and 30 feet the river there.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Probably about that wide. And that smell just hit you from that far away. Wow. That is wild. When you saw the creature moving, getting out of the river, then probably walking a bit, did you notice anything
Starting point is 01:11:51 about how it walked its gate? Yeah. It stood up and turned on its heel in one motion and it took a huge step onto the riverbank and then another step and then it stepped in the salmon berries
Starting point is 01:12:10 but really big steps he probably covered 10 20 feet in a matter of nothing he was gone and almost instant quiet in quiet super quiet okay picturing the way that it's moving in your mind do you feel like that's a way of moving
Starting point is 01:12:26 that a human could replicate, or was it different than the way that a human would move? I don't think a person, even a tall guy, with really good coordination, because tall people usually ain't that coordinated. I don't think you could really get out of the river, soaking wet, and the ground here is moss and rock.
Starting point is 01:12:53 So when you're stepping on it, you think it's soft, but it will tear your feet up really quick. It's slick too. And it was really raining that day. I don't think that a person could make that kind of movement with bare feet. They have to be wearing cork boots. Were you able to get a feel of how long the actual foot of the creature would be if you had to give an estimate?
Starting point is 01:13:20 The foot of it? Yeah. How I wouldn't be able to guess. Probably something in the range at 14, 15 inches, if I had to guess enough. Sure. Pretty big. Around this time, what were the sounds around you like? What other sounds were you hearing?
Starting point is 01:13:41 You hear the river? You would hear some crows. There were some eagles and little breeze going through the trees. Mainly the rain is really heavy rain. Gotcha. So not entirely 100%. quiet, but you were still hearing a few birds. Okay. Gotcha. Do you remember what your emotional reaction was in a few seconds you saw this happen? First, I was in a daze and I stood there probably
Starting point is 01:14:13 two, three minutes after it left. I couldn't move. Almost felt like an out of body experience, like I was paralyzed. Did you tell anyone right afterwards what had happened or did it take a while? for you to share what you'd experienced? No, I didn't tell anybody for six, seven months. I've only told about three, four people. Is there a reason why you took so long to share that? I was trying to figure out what the hell could be for sure. I don't like jumping on things and just coming up with theories.
Starting point is 01:14:51 I know I have a really good friend of mine, and he'll see aliens everywhere. There's aliens in the supermarket and lizard people and all that other stuff. But I was thinking of, I've been in the forest my whole life. I was logging since I was 14. So I've seen bears. I've been logging in Alaska for six years now. There's wolves.
Starting point is 01:15:14 There's bears. There's deer. And in southeast Alaska, that's about it. Large animals, I've seen some really, there's mangy bears. they get sick sometimes and they'll lose hair. They look really weird. And sometimes they'll stand on two feet. This thing is not a mangy bear.
Starting point is 01:15:35 And I couldn't figure out what the hell it was. I was questioning my sanity for a lot. Wow. Some other questions about what you'd seen. Do you remember anything about the arms of the creature at all? Apart from them being hairy and all that? Was there anything weird about the length? They were long for sure, longer than proportionately you'd see on a bear.
Starting point is 01:16:04 The hands definitely went lower to the, about the knees, I'd say a little bit, about the kneecaps or the fingers would be resting if he's standing straight up. Did it look like you're looking at a creature that had normal amount of digits like we would have like five fingers and five toes or. or I don't know if that's something you were able to notice at all. I wouldn't be able to tell for sure because he's soaking wet and some of those hairs are punched up. Might have looked like fingers, but I couldn't think more than five and less than four. Gotcha.
Starting point is 01:16:41 Was there anything that made you, were you able to tell if you were looking at like a male or a female of the species or anything like that? It did have a big chest. without getting too graphic, it didn't look like a guy. It looked like mammaries there. Okay. Gotcha.
Starting point is 01:17:03 That sounds like it's the first major interaction you've had. Because I was thinking back to the first story. And it sounded like at that point, you only saw a creature that was in the water. Did that creature ever get out of the water that you saw? or, you know, how did you feel? No, it was swimming. It was just a, it was swimming. And it was an animal.
Starting point is 01:17:28 It wasn't a lot for sure. It was making noise in the water. You could see trying to breathe and stuff. How much of the animal were you able to see in the water? Was it shoulders up or just the head? The water was pretty clear. We could see the head up in the water. And when it would swim, you could see parts of,
Starting point is 01:17:51 of the upper shoulders, but you can see anything definite below the waterline there. What were the main features? Since you weren't able to see a lot of the creature like you were, the one that we just talked about, were there major features that you saw that were like, okay, yeah, this is a Sasquatcher or Kushaka or Kushika? Oh, Kushtika, yeah. still that the flat face but the heads on they're so oblong that it look like they could be a snout but they aren't pointed in the direction that the animal moves if that makes any sense it's the
Starting point is 01:18:37 peak of the head points back and the animal is moving forward it wasn't on a bear i'd think you've seen bears swim and any other animal i've seen swim the snout is always pointed in the same direction. Bears and them, they don't do backstroke. Have you ever seen any other creature that has a head shape similar to that? No. Okay. You said the one creature looked more like a had orangutan face to it.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Was that also similar to the one that you saw swimming or was that a completely different setup? We weren't close enough to be able to make that out. Gotcha. Yeah. Asking some basic questions, either of these encounters were you able to get any pictures or audio recording or see any tracks, any evidence like that? I did not take pictures.
Starting point is 01:19:36 And I honestly don't look to take any pictures of anything. I'm not a good photographer. So I did come back not long after. And I looked in the river there for any tracks. but it's hard to find tracks here. It's all moss and anything's there an impression. The best luck you have is around a riverbank. And when it's raining, you won't find much.
Starting point is 01:20:02 Going back to the orangutan one, do you have any idea of what the creature might have been doing there at that spot when you sounds like you stumbled upon it? Was it trying to do any certain activity? I would assume it was fishing because it was a salmon run. And it was leaning over the water. It had the front arms there in the water. And it was looking in the river watching.
Starting point is 01:20:32 It wasn't looking anywhere else before I showed up. So probably fishing. Did you ever do any research to see if you could find any or talk to anyone who had seen similar things in that area where you were at? Yeah, my friend from Cassan, I've talked to him and the locals around here, they'll tell you that it's Kushtika. And their stories and descriptions of them are pretty similar, what they look like, what they're up to, where you find them. They almost always seem to be around water. That's the one commonality in all those encounters I've ever heard of up here. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. It's a safe, effective backup birth control option that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by temporarily delaying ovulation.

Hey, I just Venmoed you for rent. Nice. Now I can instantly spend it
Starting point is 01:21:50 whether I'm checking out online with Venmo or using a Venmo debit card. Say more. More exactly. Because the more you do with Venmo, the more you get it. Like earning up to 5% cashback with Venmo Stash on a bundle of brands.
Starting point is 01:22:03 So, order more pizza. The math demands it. Get the Venmo debit card. Venmo Stash bundle terms and exclusions apply. See terms of Venmo.com. Me slash dash term. Venmo checkout not available at all merchants. Vimmo MasterCard is issued by the Bankor Bank N.A.
Starting point is 01:22:16 Did you grow up on the island then? No, I came up here to work. Okay. Ended up staying. When you first got to the area, did you notice the presence of Sasquatch and the culture right away? Oh, yeah. Before I came up here,
Starting point is 01:22:33 I was logging in Oregon and Washington, and it's pretty similar as far as a prevalence in the folklore and culture of the region. I would say it's very intense and closely tied. Guys that you were working with, did they have similar experiences themselves? If they did, they don't tell anybody. And it's pretty hard for me even to talk about it.
Starting point is 01:23:01 You don't talk about this kind of stuff. It's a pretty no-nonsense industry. Oh, absolutely. And I'm very, very thankful that you are able to talk about this. It's the thing where you are still in your career. And I can tell that at times, this is hard to talk about for you. If you had the choice whether to see it again, would you want to see it again? I'd absolutely like to see it again.
Starting point is 01:23:31 Why? I'd love to because it's a special thing. It's something that I don't think there's a whole lot of them left. It's like walking in an old growth forest. Only a handful of people will ever be. able to do that unless as the world is closed up and we destroy more of it, so we're probably going to go out again and look forward at the carton. That would be awesome.
Starting point is 01:23:54 You definitely let me know if anything comes to that. Is this a thing where the memories were coming into your dreams, things like that? Oh, I couldn't tell you, I don't think so. I had a dream about it, but it's not like a thing that had happened all of a sudden, like a magical shamanistic deal more like a PTSD dream quite honestly. Do you have any advice for people that maybe they've had an encounter like this of ways that they can move past it and just be able to deal with everyday life? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:37 Eventually you got to tell somebody and I wouldn't be too concerned if they'd be able to deal with everyday life. Believe you or not because who gives a rat, whether or not anyone believes you. You can only believe your own two eyes and your nose and your ears. Why do you think it's important to actually be able to share to someone else? Partially because you drag them into it with you. And all of a sudden there's another person who's, they might not believe you. They might. But now there's more people who have to at least think about it.
Starting point is 01:25:11 Gotcha. Yeah. Dylan, it's a very interesting encounter. Thank you so much for sharing what you saw with me and my listeners. I hope you are able to go back to that area. If you are able to notice anything weird up there, definitely keep us in the loop. I thank you so much for taking some time chatting with us tonight. Do you have any closing words about your experiences? I suppose the last thing to say would be, I really hope that nobody comes out here to hurt them. That's about it. Because we get a lot of trophy hunters and I would imagine they'd love to get their hands on something like that. I would hope it never comes to that. That's totally different than getting a specimen for science, I think. The whole trophy hunting thing.
Starting point is 01:26:08 but yeah, I hope that it definitely does not come to that. But Dylan, thank you so much for your time tonight. No problem. May I ask you a question? Yes. Does this need to be off record? I don't think so. All right, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:26:24 Do you get a lot of reports from around here? So I've only had the opportunity to talk to one gentleman who was the chaplain and with the Salvation Army about his time up there, the Prince of Wales Island. From what I've heard, there are many people. It's just being able to get the connection to them, which is why I resorted to pretty much posting in random Prince of Wales Island Facebook groups. And then someone, I think, sent a message to your tag doing it. But I know there are lots of people in your area that are seeing things. It's just being able to get in touch with the right people.
Starting point is 01:27:06 yeah definitely. Which he from Kloak? Oh yeah. Okay. So. Oh. Yeah. It was a Kloak thing.
Starting point is 01:27:15 Yeah. So it's pretty interesting if listeners are listening and there's other individuals that have had sightings in the Prince of Wales Island area. I would love to talk to you as well. You can always send me an email at Bigfoot Society at gmail.com. But yeah, I've had the privilege of talking to one other person. so far, hopefully more in the future. All right.
Starting point is 01:27:40 All right. Dylan, thank you so much for chatting. Feel free to reach out. There's anything that I can ever help out with and hope to be in touch with you in the future. Sure. Thank you. All right.
