Episode Date: May 22, 2024

In episode 437: I Grew Up with Bigfoot, Stephani shares her unparalleled bond with a Bigfoot she befriended during her childhood in Alabama. As a member of the Bigfoot Society Patreon, Stephani opens ...up to Jeremiah about her early encounters, detailing how a solitary childhood led to a profound connection with this elusive creature. Through vivid recollections, she recounts how her initial fearlessness and curiosity blossomed into a unique friendship characterized by 'mind speak', a form of telepathic communication. From sharing snacks to exchanging tokens, Stephani navigates listeners through the complexities of her interactions, challenging the commonly held perceptions of Bigfoot. Jeremiah and Stephani delve into the intricacies of 'mind speak', the societal implications of her experiences, and the emotional journey of a friendship that defies the ordinary. This episode not only explores the enigmatic nature of Bigfoot but also underscores the deep emotional impact of Stephani's encounters, offering a fresh perspective on the relationship between humans and the beings that inhabit the fringes of our understanding. To hear the whole episode you can become a supporting member either on Patreon or Youtube. Starting point is 00:02:14 Our Bigfoot Society, we've got the privilege of talking to Stephanie today. Stephanie is a member of the Patreon, and whenever anyone joins the Patreon now, I always reach out to him and say, hey, thank you for joining. and do you have a story at all? And she gave me a bit of information.
Starting point is 00:02:33 She's had some really interesting things happen. So I am looking forward to chatting with you, Stephanie. I know you're down there and out Alabama, but how's it going? It's going good. It's a beautiful Saturday, hot Saturday already here in Alabama. I'm very glad to be on the show. Like I was explaining before we started recording, I've, you know, oftentimes tried to share my story with people and due to the mixed reactions I would get, I kind of withdrew from that.
Starting point is 00:03:03 So it's a big leap for me to come on the show and share, but there's a part of me that wants to share. So this is a good thing. Well, it all started, well, I was a little girl. I was about six years old. And I was raised. My mother, unfortunately, was an alcoholic. And she had me at a young age and she could not take care of me. So my great aunt and great uncle that would are like if they were alive today, well, they were born in 1910 and 1912, my aunt and uncle were. So they were older people. And my uncle died when I was 10. So it left me and my aunt alone for quite some number of years. But I used to play out in the yard every day. I was not the kind of little girl to sit inside the house. I was always outside. And I always had a little spot where I would sit
Starting point is 00:03:58 and play barbies or make forts, make little forts out of twigs and leaves and things like that. And I was very quiet. I was very subdued. I didn't go to nursery school or preschool or anything like that. It was just me and the old folks, but I adored them. You know, I had this huge love for them. And I get emotional when I talk about them. I'm sorry. So I was. just outside playing and I had seen the show in search of the one that talked about Sasquatch. I remember that and it didn't scare me. And then I also remember there was an episode of the $6 million man where Steve Austin
Starting point is 00:04:40 had to fight a Sasquatch or a big foot and I like that a lot. So it was never a concept that made me afraid. I never thought monster for some reason. And I just thought, I don't know what I thought really, but I know I definitely didn't think of the creature as a monster. So I was playing outside one day and some, a rock, a little pebble fell on me. And we lived on, this is important too. I'm sorry I'm going to ramble, but we've lived on three acres. And it had originally, the piece of land that my uncle bought originally was.
Starting point is 00:05:21 a hundred acres, but they sold off part of the property and there's a subdivision there now. And he kept three acres for himself and his family. So when I was living there growing up, we were on three acres, very big yard for a little one. And like I said, the little pebble came and it hit me. And I looked up because I thought maybe this is a squirrel playing with me. And I couldn't see a squirrel and I didn't hear any cheering or anything. everything was very quiet. And I just started scanning the yard.
Starting point is 00:05:55 And I got up and I walked. I don't know why, but something kind of pulled me toward the back. Because out of our three acres, there was about an acre of it that was fenced. So I could go to the back, the very back of the yard where the fence was located. And there was kind of like a little playhouse that I had back there. And I would go there sometimes, but not usually. So something pulled me to that area. I was just a little girl.
Starting point is 00:06:24 I can remember all this so vividly. And I kept walking and I started thinking someone's watching me. I feel it. I feel someone looking at me. And the closer I got, the more the shadows kind of separated from each other. And I realized that I was looking at something. And it really didn't take me long to realize Bigfoot because of my introduction to him, from the television shows.
Starting point is 00:06:52 And I was like, whoa. And I just stopped. And I stared. And it stared back. And I was like, hi. And nothing. There was no answer. No movement.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And I was like, do you want to play? And still nothing. No answer. No movement. And I was like, well, I, I, I'm going to bring my toys back here and I'm going to sit with you. So, because it's just an innocent little child, you know, and I didn't have any fear of him. So I went back there with my toys and I just kind of sat a distance away.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And by then the big foot had crouched down. I'm still not sure to this day if it was a male or a female. I don't know if it was like a sub-adult male who had not developed enough for his manhood to show through the fur. or if it was just a small-breasted female, but there weren't any really identifying factors as far as. So I was quite a distance away, and I would just sit there and play and talk and sing like I always did. And he crouched down, he or she crouched down, and just started listening to me. I was singing. I used to sing.
Starting point is 00:08:11 I still sing a lot. But I sung a lot when I was a little girl. Happy little songs that I learned at nursery school. I did go to nursery school at Sunday school. We had a little kind of program for kids that wasn't on Sundays. It was on Tuesday afternoons. It was called Tuesday Thursday School. And I did go to Tuesday Thursday school.
Starting point is 00:08:33 So I learned a lot of little songs and I would sing all the time. And he started swaying like he was crouched down on his haunches, but he started like kind of swaying back and forth listening to me. At least that's what it seemed like. And I thought, wow, this is. This is really, really neat. And I'm seeing a big foot and I'm going to tell everybody. And, you know, it got late and I heard my aunt calling me to come inside.
Starting point is 00:09:02 And I said, well, I have to go now. Bye. And I ran, I gathered up all my toys and I ran inside the house. I had dinner. I didn't, you know, I really didn't tell anybody that night because my grownups were talking grown-up things. And I was raised by, again, these people were quite a bit. older than me. And they had some interesting rules about kids. Children are to be seen and not heard was one of them. So I just sat there quietly and had my dinner while they were talking about
Starting point is 00:09:30 their grown-up issues. And then I had my bath, watched a little TV and went to bed. The next morning when I woke up, I did go to my aunt. And I was like, there was one of those creatures from the TV outside in our yard. And she said, what creatures from the TV? And I said, don't you remember on Steve Austin? He had to fight that big creature. And she was like, no, baby, I don't remember. And I was like, well, okay, I'll tell my mom, mom. Because even she was an alcoholic, she would still come around sometimes and spend some time with me.
Starting point is 00:10:08 And we would go out in the woods. I think that, looking back, I think that my mother and I playing around in the woods might have been the first time. the Bigfoot saw me. And maybe that's why it came to the yard and kind of wanted to check me out or whatever. But yeah, my mom and I would often take walks out into the larger property. And we would, I remember the woods would go really silent sometimes. And I didn't know why. And I would whisper and say, Mommy, it's so quiet.
Starting point is 00:10:44 And she would say, well, it surely is. It's very quiet. Maybe we should. maybe we should go back. And I would say, okay, and we'd go back to the house or whatever. But that's the only theory I have as far as where the Bigfoot came from, that we were pattering around out in the woods, and he caught a glimpse of me and just was curious about me.
Starting point is 00:11:06 That's the only thing I could think. So I went back outside to play, and I just to be curious, went back up to the spot at the back of the yard, and I could see where he had come. crouched and, you know, there were footprints and the leaves were kind of messed up. And I started thinking, I hope he comes back. That was really neat. And I'd like to see him again because I didn't have any playmates. I was an only child up until I was 10 years old. I was the only child. And I lived on this large property with a couple of old folks. And, you know, the kids, I met at my little
Starting point is 00:11:46 preschool type thing. We were too young to like do you spend the night overs or anything like that. We were just little preschool kids. So I was very lonely. I didn't have any playmates. It was just me. And I hate to get into the woo aspect of it because I know a lot of people are very distinctly torn over whether or not that's real.
Starting point is 00:12:10 But I didn't see the big foot for several days. But I would sit there and play or run over and get on the swing set or whatever. And I would really kind of be concentrating. Please let the Bigfoot come back. I want to see him again. Please let the Bigfoot come back. I want to see him again. And I don't know if my thoughts were projected as prayers or what happened.
Starting point is 00:12:36 But eventually he did come back. Starting point is 00:14:23 is, well, now I kind of tweet to a little bit. So by my calculations, once we get 824 people in the Patreon, we should be good to go. So what I did is we're going to do it a little bit differently. It's now adding the current amount plus the amount that are joining and there's tons of people joining every day it's wild guys so right now we're 176 members are in there ready to go out of the 824 that are needed in order for us to go full-time that puts us at about 22 percent so if you've been putting around back and forth the idea
Starting point is 00:15:05 of joining the bigfoot society patreon now's the time i'm telling it's time to check it out $7 a month starts, $15 a month as well. Starting point is 00:16:40 That's all I care about. Please let people know. Please let them know if you ever see one of these things. You need to tell. Because if you don't, then shame on you. You know, shame on you. At the end of the 50, I've learned some things,
