Bigfoot Society - I Heard It Right Outside My Window (Alabama Bigfoot Encounter)
Episode Date: February 14, 2026In this episode, we explore the experience of Angela, a business professional who never expected a family visit to lead to a life-altering encounter. While staying on secluded timberland outside Demop...olis, Alabama, surrounded by dense forest, hunting leases, and a winding creek, Angela found herself immersed in an environment rich with wildlife and deep isolation. What began as peaceful walks through the woods and quiet nights in a remote home took on new meaning during a late evening when something made its presence known just beyond her bedroom window.Angela recounts the atmosphere of rural west-central Alabama, where tall pines press in close, darkness settles thick at night, and human neighbors are miles away. She describes how the setting itself shaped the experience, from the heavy woods surrounding the house to the porch and clearing where unexplained activity later appeared. Her account reflects the lasting impact of a single moment in a place where few people venture and fewer still speak openly about what they encounter.Join us as Angela shares her story from the forests near Demopolis, offering a grounded and thoughtful look at how one night in rural Alabama reshaped her understanding of the natural world and the mysteries that may still inhabit it.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

You're listening to Bigfoot Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories
to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible,
from backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farm.
arms and crowded highways. The stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more
questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in, because
today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever.
So stay with us. All right, Bigfoot Society. You've got the privilege of talking to Angela today.
Angela is a listener based out of Texas and also a business professional down there. And how are you
doing today, Angela? I'm doing great. I'm enjoying the sunshine after the frozen tundra. I think we all
experienced here this last week. Absolutely. It'd be great to get that storm out of there, for sure.
Is there anything else the listeners would want to know about yourself before we get chatting about
your experience? Oh, absolutely. I am a business professional. I have been for 20 years. I'm pretty much what you call a no-nonsense.
since Girl show me more or less.
And I've heard stories and I've seen some shows regarding Bigfoot.
And I was a little on the fence about it.
I was kind of like the general population.
Well, we don't have one so we can't prove that it exists.
Well, my mind's been totally changed.
I think because of this experience, it made me realize that there's so much more out there
that we don't know that exists.
I mean, we're making discoveries every single day of new species all around the world.
So I don't know how people can honestly say, well, no, this is all, you know, this doesn't exist.
People are seeing things.
And the fact that there's way too many people that have had experiences, some similar to mind, some more, I don't mean, more scarier than what mind was.
was. And my story began, well, it starts what happened in 2016 in Alabama. I was employed in New Orleans at the time, working as an office manager for a fabrication company. And my sister and brother-in-law also live there. And they purchased a home outside of Demopolis, Alabama. Actually, they built it. And
they bought a parcel of a large amount of land that they leased for deer hunting.
And it was on a single road, the only house out there.
And in this area, timber is a big industry, you know, like paper plants.
I mean, it's filled with a lot of trees, pine trees, you name it.
There's all different kinds there.
And my brother-in-law hunted.
And on their property, towards the back of it, there was this creek that ran through it.
And I would often take walks through the woods to go and sit back there because there was a family of beavers that lived back there.
And it was kind of fun just watching them.
And my sister had blue healers, and they would often go with me.
And the only thing they ever alerted on was a rather large, it was a very large,
It was about four cords worth of fire would because we love sitting outside and around the fire pit, you know, at night.
And it would take me, I would have to literally like yell at them and to make them come.
And they never alerted to anything else while I was out there.
And there were times when I would take these walks and I would feel like I'm being watched.
And I'm sure people understand that feeling.
the, it was like, I knew that I wasn't alone.
And I would stop and look around and, you know, the hair on the back of your neck kind of stands up.
And I'm thinking, okay, Angela, you know, you're exaggerating.
And I would continue on with no event and go back there and watch the beavers dam up the creek,
which now turned it into like a swampy area there.
But what people need to understand is there is abundant wildlife.
I mean, the deer are everywhere.
You name it, it's there.
I know that Alabama does have some bear in the region,
but we had been going there for quite some time.
And everyone in the general area said they hadn't seen a bear or anything like that there for years.
So it's predominantly your smaller animals and deer and things like that that lived, you know,
within the forest of that area.
And so it was one.
weekend it was during deer season and my brother-in-law was going to hunt that weekend and
we he had done that and he did get a deer and he processed it and put it in the cooler a locking
outdoor cooler to where you know it could age and finish doing so that we would come back
the next weekend and actually processed the deer and
It was late. We had burned fire. We had a fire, nice fire, outside, and we were really tired, because it had been a long day. And we all came in, dogs included. And I went to my bedroom, which is directly across from theirs, and went to that. I had brought a book with me that I wanted to continue reading. And so I turned my lamp on, you know, beside my bed and started reading.
And what I need for people to understand is that this is a very heavily wooded area and the house was set back.
We had a general clearing around the house, but we were literally surrounded by very tall trees and it was very heavily wooden.
And as I was reading my book, oh wait, let me back up, when at night in my bedroom, if you don't have any lights on, you literally can't see your hand in front of your face.
because, you know, of the heavily wooded region.
And I liked it because, you know, I could sleep.
So I would often leave the curtains open during the day to let light in.
Well, I went to bed, and I was reading my book,
and my curtains were opened by the window to the left of my bed.
And I'm laying there, and I hear something, but I don't really think anything of it,
because, you know, it could be a raccoon.
It could be an armadillo.
You just, you know, we've seen plenty of those out there.
And so I read for about 20 minutes and I decided, you know, okay, I need to go to sleep.
I'm tired.
And so I get up and, you know, my lamp's still on and I go to close the curtains.
And I don't even know how to describe what I heard, but it was right directly on the other side of the window.
It was between a growl and this howl.
I've never heard anything like it.
I am very aware of animals and the animals around there in animal sounds, even bear sounds,
and I had heard nothing like it, and it froze me in my trap because I knew whatever it was was directly on the other side of this window.
And what froze me more is that I felt it.
When it did that, I felt it literally go through me and it's
stop me in my track, so I'm standing there, and I'm holding the curtains, and I can't see what's on the
other side of the window, because the lamp is causing a reflection, and quite honestly, I didn't want
to see, because I knew it was big. I knew whatever it was, was much definitely bigger than a bear.
and it did it again
and it kind of knocked me out of the frozen tear I was in
and I slammed the curtains closed
and I literally leaped from there on the bed
and I could hear movement outside
but right directly outside my window
we have an open porch
and there was a very heavy metal bench
for those that you know wanted to go sit outside there
and watch nature because there was always something
some animals, the flying squirrels that you could see.
And I had never felt fear like that in my life ever.
And I sat on my bed and I was perfectly still and I listened and I could hear movement.
And then finally it went quiet and my brain started functioning again.
And I don't know if anyone else has that experience.
It's like everything stops.
Like your brain stops functioning.
You're just frozen there.
And when I didn't hear any noise, my brain kicked in and it said, okay, could this, your brother-in
who's trying to play a joke on you or something.
You try to rationalize what you just experienced and you can't.
So I got off the bed, opened my bedroom door, and cracked bears to see.
And he was, they were all sleeping, snoring, even though.
the dog and I quietly closed their door back and I didn't get much sleep that night.
I will tell you that I don't want to know what was on the other side of that window.
And I was not about to go outside.
So the next morning, I, you know, I maybe got two hours asleep because I was afraid that, you know,
was going to come back, whatever this was.
And so I told my brother-in-law what had happened and he just kind of looked and he said,
well, let's go and look.
And sure enough, we went around to the front of the house, and I followed them out, and I'm looking.
I won't lie to you.
I'm kind of looking around.
And that big metal bench had been moved so much that part of it was in the grass and part of it was still on the porch.
Now, I cannot tell you with 100% assurance that it was a Bigfoot.
But shortly after that, I was watching another documentary, and I heard this how grunt,
that someone had recorded, and I got the chills immediately because I recognized that.
And that's exactly, to the best of my knowledge, what I heard that night.
And it changed me. It changed my opinion.
It changed my thought processes because I truly believe there is a lot more out there than we realize.
that's living among us.
And so that predominantly is my story that I wanted to share.
And to assure people that have had experiences like me to know,
it was a real experience and, you know, it's okay.
I understand the fear.
I understand what it does to me when I talk about it again,
because it's like I'm right back there.
And I promise you, if you had been there with me standing beside me,
you would have felt the same thing I felt.
And that's my experience that I had.
That is really interesting.
So first, thank you for sharing.
And I have a few questions for you.
So when you were staying in that room,
was it normal then for you to have the curtains open or drawn?
They were open until after after.
after that event, I never let them open during the day because when it's heavily wooded,
it kind of filters the sunlight. And so I would leave them open during the day, but not anymore
after that. I never left a curtain open in my bedroom again after that night. Never.
Right. Never. I don't blame you. It's kind of an interesting pattern that I've heard over
the years where you know it's usually a female looks over or hears a sound near the window there's
either something looking in the window or she hears something over there and the pattern is that
the the blinds have been open the whole time so kind of leads into where you hear you know the
there's a curiosity there in some
So sometimes you hear where they've been watching TV along with the witness.
The witness looks over their shoulder.
There's a face in the window watching TV.
Or they're watching people.
And this is kind of like an example potentially of, you know, they see through the blinds that are open.
But is this – have you heard of any other Bigfoot activity in this area around Demopoulos?
No.
You know, not really.
I mean, we knew a few people there.
but that was not a topic anyone ever brought up.
And I shared my experience with my brother-in-law,
and he never really spoke about it again.
And I know that he has not had any experiences while he was out in the woods.
And I know this is a little bit more south, you know, in Alabama.
But I'm sure that there's other people in that area that have had some experiences.
There has to be.
I don't think mine was just a fluke or a one-a-one.
and done, I just don't think that people are comfortable talking about it because of the stigma
that's placed on them. But I will tell you, after experiencing what I experienced, I think
more of us should come forward and share their stories because I don't think there's quite enough
being done to try to discover exactly what this species is. But I am 100% convinced it
exists and I'm 100% convinced that these experiences that I'm now learning about are 100% real.
And I do not believe that they're there or any other animal that people try to say that it is.
And only the ones that have experienced things like me and even what I would consider worse,
like, you know, one-on-one confrontation, understand that fear.
and understand the terror that you experience in that moment.
Because your brain can't comprehend honestly what you're hearing and are seeing.
That's just my personal opinion on the matter.
Sure.
And I would, there's got to be other things happening around this area.
Because if, you know, I have a map I put together of just people I've talked to on
Bigfoot Society podcast.com.
And DeMopolis is like right in the center of this area that there's nothing else in there.
But, I mean, there's stuff east of it over by on the way to Montgomery, Alabama.
And then you go west over towards Mississippi.
There's stuff over there.
So, I mean, it makes sense.
I would imagine there's got to be someone listening to this.
And they're like, oh, yeah, I had something happened to for sure.
But, you know, how did this affect you?
in the time after you had this happen?
Well, they have eventually sold the home several years later
and another family had moved in town in love with it.
But I was scared to go into the woods for a while
and I made sure I took my dogs and I carried.
I will tell you that.
I enjoyed going to watch the Beaver family,
but it changed a lot of that for me.
it made me realize there are things out there that are bigger than you and we don't know what
they will do if we come up on one.
You know, are they going to be aggressive?
Are they just going to run?
You know, what are they going to do?
You just don't know.
But yes, it's changed me.
And even going into heavily wooded areas today, I mean, I am on high alert.
I'm not alone.
I will tell you that I do not go alone.
I will not go alone.
I'm usually with someone or a group,
but I'm always listening and I'm always looking now.
It changes your perspective about everything.
Because for the few years I've been going there,
I never ever felt threatened or uneasy when I was in these woods.
And to me, it was beautiful and it was peaceful
and to watch the flying squirrels.
And it most definitely changed my perspective.
about all of that.
And that makes me sad, I guess, in a way.
You know, ignorance is bliss.
You know, you just go on about your day.
But after that experience, no, I never wandered back there.
Either my sister would be with me or one of their guests would be with me.
You know, another adult would be with me during that time.
But I was kind of relieved when they sold it because I would just be honest with you.
I've got to release, you know, because we had a pet cemetery back there.
So as we lost pets, you know, she would like to go play home.
So I always went with her.
I never let her go alone.
But to my knowledge, they never had an experience or they didn't realize what the experience was.
Or they just didn't want to talk about it, one or the other.
But I'm happy to share mine.
And hopefully someone else in that area.
will come forward that's listening to this and let you know it's okay too you can still maintain your
privacy but i think people need to be more aware absolutely and open-minded about this absolutely
do you think that it would have been harder for you if you had actually seen what was on the other
side of that glass oh absolutely i probably would have never returned there again to be honest with
you if you would have felt what vibrated
through my body and if you would have heard what I heard lessen a foot from your face.
I did not want to know what was on the other side of that glass because it's hard to describe that
experience. It's I never want to experience it again. I will be quite frankly honest with you. I
never want to experience that again, ever. It changed a lot for me. It most definitely did.
And, you know, I reside in Texas and it's wide open spaces and this is what I find you might get some humor, but this could be a lot of people that have had experiences like me.
I tend to go and look where the Bigfoot are.
And there's some within the fringe area of my general region, but nothing in the general area.
So far, that's been reported.
Okay.
I also feel they migrate.
I'm convinced that they migrate because it's almost like the same time of year, the same months, the activity increases, and then it decreases.
I mean, I'm just a guessing, it's a guessing game at this point for me.
Absolutely.
But yeah, I'm glad you brought that up because I was actually going to bring that up is you're in Texas.
Texas has a lot of habitat for these guys.
And so that's good.
It sounds like you've done your homework to see how close you potentially are
and how alert you need to be when you go out.
You do need to be alert.
And I love the hill country.
I love, you know, around the junction area, San Antonio and the heavily wooded areas.
You know, I like Livingston and those.
areas up there. It's beautiful to go to. But I kind of pay attention when I, even when I'm
traveling today, I'll look and I'll go, oh, okay, we're not much going on here. We're good.
You know, I cannot tell you the profound effect it has on me to this day. And that was 2016.
And no, I'm not going to go into the woods without something to protect myself with. No, never again,
ever.
Absolutely.
I promise you that.
Sometimes when individuals have encounters like this and it's very close or in certain areas,
did you start experiencing anything else out of the ordinary in your life or any intense dreams
or anything like that?
Oh, I've dreamed about it.
And I've dreamed that hands come through the window.
I mean, it's like, this stays with you.
This isn't a dream.
This isn't, you know, you wake up from a bad dream and then a few days later you're over it.
This changes you.
And, you know, I have fear from that.
And I don't know if you can hear it in my voice.
And my voice is getting a little bit wobbly here.
But when you experience something like this, it changes you.
It changes.
It forces you to face the idea that there is something out there that we don't know about yet.
I mean, we hear about it, but I promise you, you only have to have one experience to be a believer.
And I don't honestly wish this on anyone.
I don't.
It's haunted me even today.
Like right now, as I'm talking about it, I'm getting that fear and that trepidation that I felt that night.
But yes, I've had dreams about it.
Yes, I've dreamed that I've seen it.
I guess I dreamed that it broke the window and came through.
And then that's continued on.
Now, it's been about two years since I've had a dream about it, but I find that when I
talk about it, I usually do within, you know, within a couple of weeks. So I'm hoping not this
time, but, you know, it's, it changes you. It changes your way of thinking and it forces you
to face the fact that there's more than just us in the typical animals we see wandering in the
vast woods and forests that very few people even go to, you know, that has seen or stepped foot
And I don't know what they would do.
You hear stories, you hear stories where they run, you hear stories where they've, you know, have not been aggressive of all.
And then you hear stories where, yeah, they were, you're being chased and stories of people that were maybe physically attacked.
it's a species that we know little or nothing about,
and you definitely don't want to go into a situation
knowing that there may be some there without some type of plan.
And, you know, like I said, this changes me.
And listening to other people talk,
I can so relate to them now because I can hear the fear
in the men's voices and the women.
women's voices. And like I said, all it takes is one experience to wake you up. And trust me,
when I say, I was woken up by this experience. Absolutely. Is there anything that you found
to be helpful or effective that has made it easier to deal with what you experienced
those years ago? Absolutely. This right here.
podcasts, people coming to the forefront and the investigations and allowing people to talk about
their experiences without judgment, without having the fear in the community of like, oh, well,
was he drinking?
Was he, you know, without being judged and ridiculed and ostracized about these experiences?
you and give people a platform in which they can come and feel safe enough to express their experiences without judgment.
And that's key is if someone comes to you and they tell you that they've had an experience,
even if you're a non-believer, please have enough respect for them to listen and to entertain
the simple fact that this probably did occur, something occurred, something that affected them
so deeply has occurred and take them serious because I will tell you it's changed.
I know it's changed my life.
I look at things totally different now and I guarantee you it's changed theirs.
But just have enough open mind, have enough of.
an open mind to consider that maybe this really did happen and maybe I need to be more aware
about situations like this or at least study, look at the facts, you know, find reputable
people like this podcast and other people that are scientifically trying to study this.
And just be open-minded enough to say,
okay, this possibly could exist
because I will tell you
unequivocally, without a doubt,
they're out there. After what I
experienced and the research
I've done, they're out there.
And I
would rather you be prepared and
be
open-minded enough that if
you're ever deep in the woods, if you're hunting,
doing whatever, and you
hear, see
that
there is a species out there,
that scientists have not identified, and that's a whole other subject for another day.
I think that's purposely being done, and I'll leave that on the table,
because we have to share this earth with them, and we're going to need to know how to do it,
and in order to do it, we need to study research, habitat.
different tribes.
You will be much better prepared if you educate yourself for the event that you do have an experience with a species that you have never identified before, have ever seen.
Fascinating conversation, Angela.
And I just want to say, again, thank you for coming on the show to share.
And I hope that bringing this up again does not bring.
the dreams back and thank you for putting yourself into that potential situation in order
to be able to help other listeners.
It was, I felt it was my duty to, honestly.
I felt that, you know, somebody has to be brave.
Someone has to be the hero.
Someone has to step up and go, this happened to me.
And put it out there regardless if there's believers or non-believers.
And I hope that this conversation helps others to come forward and share their story and to bring awareness and to maybe help with research and awareness that we're not the only species out in these woods that are known that we know today.
There's much more out there.
And thank you for allowing me to share my story with you.
It means a lot.
And I appreciate that very much.
Have you ever heard all the accounts of Bigfoot activity around Oak Ridge, Oregon?

And I'll see you there.
Before we wrap this episode,
I want to say something directly to a very specific group of listeners.
If you're in the military, any branch, or forces, and if you've seen something that no one can explain,
or if you're a national park ranger or forestry worker who's been told to stay quiet,
if you're a pilot who's seen something strange down on the ground,
or if you're with the FBI, a federal agency, or working intelligence,
and you've stumbled upon something you're not allowed to talk about,
and if you're a firefighter, paramedic, or search-and-rescue responder,
who's heard screams or found tracks that didn't make sense.
If you're in the logging industry on a remote oil field or trucker with government contracts,
and you've had something happen that you've never told a soul.
And if you're a biologist, a wildlife specialist, or a field researcher under contract,
who has found evidence you're not allowed to report.
If you're a pastor, a missionary, or someone on a spiritual retreat,
and you saw something that shook your faith,
or if you work in the shadows, CIA, NSA, or anything with clearance,
and you've seen what the public hasn't,
then I want to talk to you.
Even if it's anonymous,
you can reach me at bigfoot society at gmail.com.
