Bigfoot Society - It's Smarter than We Realized | Honobia | Oklahoma

Episode Date: April 3, 2026

Sean has spent enough time in the woods to know when something doesn’t belong. In the hills around Honobia, Oklahoma, that feeling keeps coming back. A remote cabin. Tracks where the ground will hold... them. Movement just beyond the edge of the light. Sounds carrying through the timber at night. More than one set of eyes on the same thing. It isn’t a single encounter. It’s repeated activity in the same place, witnessed by hunters, guests, and anyone who stays long enough to notice the pattern.Out there, something is working the area—and it knows the ground better than you do.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. All right, welcome back to another episode of Bigfoot Society. I've got the privilege today of talking to Sean.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Sean is an outdoorsman. Welcome to the show, Sean. How are you doing today, sir? I'm doing just fine. How are you doing, Jeremiah? Doing great. We've had a little chat already, and we're going to be getting into some really interesting stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:23 And I see your background. We'll describe it for the audio crowd. And if you want to, this is a video podcast. as well. You can find it over on YouTube under Bigfoot Society. It looks like you've got a great, looks like a white-tailed deer on your left shoulder there. Yeah, it's a big moon yearly. Oh, yeah. Nice, very nice.
Starting point is 00:02:45 A doll sheep in the back. All right. Well, there you go. There you go. So you are definitely a gentleman who is getting out there and all sorts of things. You know what's out there in nature and I'm sure that'll play into two-hour. chat, but is there anything else, Sean, that people would want to know about you for contacts before we get going? Just absolutely enjoy the outdoors, and I've spent hundreds of hours up in the Kai Michi Mountains as well. Kind of that's where we're going to go with this.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Absolutely. You had reached out. I want to say it was like two days ago. It was not that long ago by email. And when I read the email, I was like, yep, we need to talk as quick as possible. This is a pretty interesting one. I was trying to get back to people right away. But, Sean, feel free.
Starting point is 00:03:42 And this is going to be one of those where I usually will ask the interviewee if they want to have space to share everything in one go. Or if we should chat as we go along. I think we're going to be chatting as we go along this time. Right. you want to actually start things off down in Texas, correct? Correct, correct. Kind of quick background, how I kind of got into the whole Bigfoot thing. I lost the deer lease back in 2002, 2003 down in Texas,
Starting point is 00:04:20 and went down the rabbit hole looking for something to get back out into nature and came across a BFRO expedition in Texas. And I was hoping that Bigfoot was real, but skeptical. And I kind of went on it as a tongue-in-cheek kind of thing. And actually, that first night we ended up having one come into camp all we were. were sleeping and it was snowing and stuff and we had some footprints and thoroughly thoroughly thoroughly had a good time just meeting everybody you know we had some military guys we had a police officer a couple of school teachers just a very
Starting point is 00:05:19 very crew that was there and I kind of got the bug a little bit even though I I didn't see anything. I did get the see footprints, which I thought was pretty cool. And from there, went on a couple of other expeditions, and then just kind of fell out, made my own friend group from those expeditions, and then just kind of left that whole BFRO crowd, I want to say behind, except for a handful of friends. So real quick, how long would you estimate those stories? tracks to be that you had seen your first expedition there? It was overnight because we had snowed that evening and it had come through and messed with the cooler. And it had gotten down to about
Starting point is 00:06:14 13 degrees that evening. And I heard something go through camp and along with a number of other people. But it was so cold, nobody got out to see what it was. Okay. Okay. Okay. And so were you able to measure those lengthwise the tracks? I did not. I didn't really know what I was doing. I was just out there just to see what the whole thing was about. Gotcha. And that's totally understandable. I myself have been on one of those expeditions. And it is really cool how you have many different individuals from all different walks. You have some incredible diehards. And then you have some new, people that are just checking it out and the organization does do a good
Starting point is 00:07:06 at least the one I was on they do a good job of making it so that everyone is kind of addressed at where they are and so this this area you know maybe talk about it for a few minutes I know there's multiple
Starting point is 00:07:21 areas down in Texas which are really active you know you've got like the east the southeast area and a northeast area. So was there a certain area that you were kind of getting into when you were doing these expeditions? Mainly in the southeast Oklahoma, Octavia area.
Starting point is 00:07:45 And then, like I said, I branched off with a couple of other friends. And we started doing the big thicket down by Coal Springs, which is south of Huntsville, about 30 miles. and it took me seven years to actually see my first big foot. I had had rocks thrown at me. I've heard howls, samurai chatter. I just never, ever put my eyes on one. And this one evening, we were down in the big thicket near Cole Springs,
Starting point is 00:08:23 had my father with me, seven other guys. There was a total of seven. of us. So a total, we had five other guys with us, including my dad. And we had gone out, made calls, that sort of thing. And where we were camping was in a cul-de-sac. And it was very thick woods along the side. And toward the back, it thinned out. And that's where we had our tents and that sort of thing. And we came rolling in. It was in November. It was either November 13 or 14, I don't recall. We rolled in that we had two vehicles and I backed my pickup truck came in, made a U-turn and backed into the spot and I had a camper
Starting point is 00:09:16 shell on the back of the truck and my father got out from the passenger side, walked back around and dropped the tailgate. So now he's kind of on the driver side of the tailgate. And it was the tailgate, my father, a pine tree, and this really large pine tree, all within six, seven feet from the back of the pickup truck. As I got out of the truck, I had my headlamp on. And I looked down, saw my father. And as I swung my head around, I saw the pine, the tree that was literally up against my dad's back and this very large pine tree. And as I swung, a buddy of mine was coming to the front of the pickup truck and he goes, there's one right there.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Bigfoot, big foot. And that really large pine tree was actually a big foot. And just below where it was, there were some bushes. So we were thinking that it was in our camp. And as I came in kind of spooked it and it went down behind the bushes. And as I as my dad got out, it stood up to leave. And that's when I caught it in my headlamp. It ran 65 feet over into some heavy, heavy brush.
Starting point is 00:10:43 And I called for my dad. Of course, when this happened, I wanted to get some sort of distance, something between me and it. and back in the day I had a I almost want to say like first gen thermal it was like $4,000 didn't have record capabilities it was white hot your basic so I ran around I'm calling to my father he's I swear he was death back then hey hey hey yeah I finally get him around because that's who I wanted to see it. You know, that was my, I just put eyes on it.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Now I want him to see this thing. Got him finally back around. And we were able to watch him for about between 14 and 16 minutes. And with that thermal and I also had a third gen night vision, we were able to rotate everybody. to see this thing. He was crouched down and 65 feet really isn't that far.
Starting point is 00:12:00 And we were able to see how he was kind of, I don't know if you can see it on the screen, but he was about four, four and a half feet wide, broad. And his arms were kind of out. You could see underneath his armpits. And just below his chest were the bushes. and there was a car, or yeah, a car not too far from him where there was another person there.
Starting point is 00:12:29 And he was looking at us and then he would look at the car. And it was almost like a, like a finch, the bird finch. And the head, it was so quick. It was watching us and it was just turning back and forth, back and forth. And we, like I said, between 14 and 16 minutes, we got to watch it. Now this is when I wish I would have spent the extra $1,500 to get a recordable thermal, you know, at the time. And as we're watching it, we ended up starting to get things, pine cone sticks thrown at us from behind. And we were like, nope, we're watching this one.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Do not take your eyes off of it. Don't take that thermal and spin around. Well, of course, somebody spun around. When we came back, he was gone. So that was my first. Sean, that is incredible. Let's talk about that for a bit. So you actually got to see it run as well.
Starting point is 00:13:35 I did not. Okay. I did not because when I swung around, I saw him. And then when he said Bigfoot, I came back around. and by then he was already in the bushes. Got it. So the whole time that you're able to see him, it is in a crouch position, right? The first time was standing up.
Starting point is 00:13:57 We know he was seven, a little over seven and a half feet because his head was actually touching a branch behind my father. Got it. What was your father's reaction to being able to see one? He was in awe. He really was. And it's one of those things that, you know, you go out and you're always hoping to see one, catch an eye.
Starting point is 00:14:22 But when you're able to see it with your dad, it's pretty cool. We've hunted all over the world together and shot all sorts of things. And this was probably the coolest thing yet. Oh, I can't even imagine. I mean, I've not, hopefully in the future I'll be able to experience that myself. but what did, I mean, man, so close and you're able to see it for such a long time. What did that do to you? What were you feeling?
Starting point is 00:14:54 Did it affect you physically? Sometimes people are affected physically when they're in close range to Bigfoot. You know, I had been looking for so long. Like I said, it was seven years to see my first one. The anticipation was obviously there, but there was no, mental issues or anything like that just because I think I kind of prepared myself for actually seeing one and it was I don't want to call it a
Starting point is 00:15:26 benign sighting but it wasn't aggressive or anything like that he was there behind my dad for at least a minute six feet behind him my dad had no clue he was even there and we would never have known it if I hadn't looked down the side of the truck with my headlamp on. My goodness. He was up to help me. What year would you say this was again?
Starting point is 00:15:55 It was either 13 or 14. I know it was November, but it was either 13 or 14. So you're able to see it through the thermal for an extended period of time. Correct. Do you remember any details about it that you were able to see through the thermal? The traps, like everybody says, no neck, big traps. His shoulders were like bowling balls. They were just these great big round.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. Many people are rethinking how to protect their savings. Physical gold and silver have been used for generations during uncertain times to diversify, not replace traditional investments.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Preserve gold helps Americans understand these options. Text iHeart to 50505 to get your free wealth protection guide and explore how precious metals may fit into your retirement planning. kind of the V shape, you know, from the armpits down to his waist. Anything below that, I really don't recall. But he was, he was, he was so broad. That's what, I think that's what caught me off guard. I just didn't realize how broad he was in the shoulders.
Starting point is 00:19:02 How many people total were able to see that big foot that day? Was everyone in the party? Yeah, there were seven of us. Wow. And everybody got to see them thermal and night vision. Can you explain to the listeners what the difference would be seeing it through thermal versus night vision and what you might see differently with each one? Okay. So the night vision, it was a Gen 3 handheld.
Starting point is 00:19:32 And basically it's like a green screen that picks up external light and boosts it into the tube. So it's like looking during daytime, depending on how much light, ambient light is coming in. I did not have an IR on it. So you could make out the outline and the differences between the leaves, the bushes, the leaves, and him. where with the thermal there was no mistake in it because the ambient temperature out and the different
Starting point is 00:20:12 temperatures in the pine trees and the bushes and him and he glue or he was glowing you know white hot you could see his his eyes the different temperature in his where his hair
Starting point is 00:20:32 was. It's not fur, it's hair. And you really can't hide from it unless you're staying behind something that's actually warmer than you are. So as if he was to run through the woods, you would be able to track him where with the night vision, you wouldn't be able to unless you just saw the movement. Okay. That makes sense. Thank you. And when you're looking at this area with neither of those and you're just looking through your eyes, you're not able to see anything, I would guess, or what were you able to see? No, no, it was dark outside.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Okay. There was nothing. It was midnight, 1 o'clock in the morning. Got it. So it's pitch dark out. So how did the experience end? Yeah, just as soon as we turned around and came back, to look at him. He was gone. And then we didn't have anything else that night. Everybody was
Starting point is 00:21:37 just about everybody was freaked out about it. Instead of sleeping in their tents, I slept in their cars. I don't blame them. I'd probably be the same way, to be honest. I'd be like, man, it's right out there, dude. And we know for sure 100%. Yeah. Were you able to check that area? It was in the next day during the daytime? time. We were. We ended up able to measure, like I said, he was a little over seven and a half feet tall. We were able to measure that. We were able to find impressions of where he ran through the pine leaves or the pine straw, but you can't cast anything there. And we probably did 100, 150 yard circle around that whole area of perimeter. didn't see anything. And I know of a handful of people that have seen them in that exact same spot in the future. Yeah, from what I've heard that, that area is pretty active.
Starting point is 00:22:48 How would you describe what you were looking at without using the word big foot? A large humanoid figure. Okay, that's what it was. Gotcha. was there anything you could see through either of those devices that made you think more like it looks more human or it looks more ape or this is something just totally different i always looked at them as like an ancient human like a neanderthal something like that um a branch off of that um not quite human not quite ape you know like i said I know it's not, I don't know, but I don't feel like it's a Neanderthal, but I think it's a branch of that. It's an interesting thing to think about. Some people bring up also that, you know, imagine what would happen to you if you had to go live out in the woods and what would that be like a few years into it.
Starting point is 00:24:03 What would you look like? What would you be doing? It's interesting to think about. So how did this affect you with your, you know, you're looking into Bigfoot and then you have this sighting finally after seven years? And then how does this affect you after finally having this sighting? It's kind of sad, but it made me stop looking for them. Not because being scared or anything like that. It was just, I've seen one now.
Starting point is 00:24:35 So, you know, the mystery is solved in my mind. But I have put myself in positions, and we'll talk about this a little bit later, in position to see others. I'm more of a, I'm not a researcher, more of an experiencer. So, you know, I don't, if I go out with my buddies, I don't carry any plaster of Paris or anything. I do have a better thermal now. This is so I can record. I think that's really interesting. And it makes you wonder, because I think that comes down to intention too, if you're there to connect, to experience rather than just, because you almost give off vibes
Starting point is 00:25:28 in a different way. You know, if you're trying to just go out there and get tracks, maybe, You're kind of more have this like hunter vibe. But if you're just going out there to connect and to experience, I mean, that's a whole different thing you're giving off, I think. That's just my personal thoughts. I absolutely agree 100%.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I've got friends that come to my place near Honobie, and they're experiencers. and it's more sitting around the campfire and having a good time versus actively looking. Everybody's got thermals. We'll try different things, but it's basically a guy's weekend with a small purpose of try to see if we could lure one in.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Exactly. I'm sure listeners' ears perked up a little bit there when they heard the word ho-nubby. We'll get to that in a minute, guys, don't worry. Is there anything else then that you would want to make sure shared about the time, the experiences you had done in Texas? They're down there. You'll hear different stories about them being aggressive and that sort of thing. the people that I know that are down there that have seen them, they weren't aggressive.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Not to say they're wild animals. But I've never had an aggressive stance or anything from them or heard firsthand about that. Interesting. do you think would a good place to move to next be to go up to southeast Oklahoma and to what you've experienced or there are other things that we'd want to talk about
Starting point is 00:27:40 before we get there, Sean? I got a real quick story that happened up in Colorado. I'll kind up there pretty much yearly and we had a run-in with a game warden that's up there. And it was a good run-in.
Starting point is 00:28:02 It wasn't anything illegal or anything. But he had come by the cabin. And we were talking with him. And my father had really started, is there a big foot up here? Is there a big foot up here? And it's in the San Juan's. So there are sightings and stuff. And he sat there and he denied it.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Oh, I've got hundreds of game cameras out there. and all I'm looking for is the Canadian links. And he talked about catching poachers and everything. And my dad just kept going, is there Bigfoot up here? Is there Bigfoot up here? And as he was finally getting to the truck and we followed him out and he was getting in the truck, he goes, Larry, they're here. Got in the truck and left.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Yeah. And three years ago, me and And a good friend of mine came across an area probably 50 yards by 50 yards of stick structures and everything else up there. In that same time, that same morning, my cousin's husband had heard holler monkeys up roughly in the same area. There's no holler monkeys up in that same room. No, no, we don't have those. That was just kind of a neat little story where he just kind of looked at my dad and said, yeah, they're here. That's cool. I love stories like that where it's, yeah, I've heard that happen a few times.
Starting point is 00:29:33 That is so cool. Very cool. And this was after you and your father had that experience in Texas. Correct. Correct. Okay. Gotcha. So it sounds like your dad is really on board with this then and trying to get more connections or experiences. Is that safe to assume? If he wasn't as old as he is, he'd be. out in the field. I got you. Yeah, he's 82 this year. Okay, got it. Yeah, that's a great example about how, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:05 you are definitely an outdoorsman that's getting to multiple areas around the U.S. You got Texas and Colorado. And then, yeah, we're headed. Let's head up on to Honubi next in southeast Oklahoma. Well, you say it better than I do. I've tried so hard because I always want to like get it the way that's acceptable. for the locals, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I get corrected and I've been coming up here since 2007. I say Honobie, but you say it with the short you in there. And I get corrected all the time. Nice. It's probably because I'm too lazy to say it right. I've been coming up here to southeast Oklahoma since 2007. What brought me up here was an expedition. Absolutely fell in love with the place.
Starting point is 00:30:57 That first expedition we had was along Rocky Creek in Honobie, and we had, I did not, but the first night there was four campers that were down in the bottom of a, almost like a holler that dropped down into where the creek was. and we had actually called in two Sasquatch with a handheld woodknocks. The guy that was leading the expedition was talking about, well, they may not be using logs against trees. And this guy is phenomenal with bird calls and everything else. And he was able to mimic a wood knock with his hands.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Really? And he had, we were. sitting up high and he made a clapping sound and to the east of us along rocky creek we got a wood knock to the west of us on rocky creek we got a wood knock and we were like oh my goodness and 300 yards down below where we were were the four campers and they heard it as well but they were setting up their tents everybody was still getting there and nobody was expected anything at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. So the thermals weren't.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Back then, you had to have a DVR hooked into the thermal so you can record. Nobody had any of their stuff geared up. So we hit another wood knock. The one to the east moved closer, got a wood knock. The one to the west got a little bit closer. Third time, we did it. We didn't hear anything from the west. The one from the east actually came in closer.
Starting point is 00:32:57 And you know who Sabilla Irwin is? Have you heard that name? I do know the name, Sabilla. I've tried to talk to her for years. And if she's listening, I'd love to talk to you. But I'd really respect what she does, yeah. She's wonderful. We actually went on our first Bigfoot expedition there together.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Oh, wow. And she's, okay. So now we're up in Honobie, and she's one of the four that are down in the field. And she was able to find it inside with the thermal. Like I said, nobody was ready, so you didn't have the DVR hooked into the thermal and that sort of thing. And she was able to watch it. And on her website or YouTube channel, I think she's got a drawing of what she saw. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago.

Starting point is 00:35:57 And that was pretty much the highlight of the expedition, but we had some that actually came through the camp and things like that. And then that was that expedition. And then we had one in Octavia. And in between these expeditions, I met one of my best friends who lives up here. and I just started coming up and staying with him until I actually bought a place up here. And for so in 13, 14, I had my sighting.
Starting point is 00:36:42 And then I bought a place up here in 18. So prior to that, we would go out on a deer lease and we had rice. and we had rocks thrown at us. We had, you could hear calls, that sort of thing. And we would stand up on my friend's deck. Did make calls. And then, of course, we would leave, and he would have to deal with the after.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Exactly. Half of everything. He had, on his driveway, he had a telephone pole laying down. And he came out that Monday morning and go to work. And it was long ways along the, his driveway. When he came out, it was across the driveway. So he had to get out and winch it. Winch it off.
Starting point is 00:37:35 And that was the last time we were allowed to make calls off the deck. They're like no more. Absolutely. Oh, wow. That is so, so cool. So, and that happened right there in Honubi, Octavia area. Yeah. Yep. I had a question real quick. So the expeditions you've been talking about, those have been private expeditions or are they put on by an organization?
Starting point is 00:38:04 They were put on by the organization. So like the BFRO? Yes. Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. Yes. Nice, nice. And it's a really good way to get involved, whether or not you like the politics of what's going on in all these groups and stuff. if you're a beginner, it's a good way to get your feet wet, and you get to meet some really
Starting point is 00:38:30 interesting people, and you never know. Three of my best friends have come from these expeditions. I agree. There, man, there's one individual I'd been trying to meet for years in Iowa, and I was only able to meet him because he was at that expedition that I attended. So, yeah, I would say, man, the stuff you learn. and the connections that you make alone are worth seriously considering
Starting point is 00:38:59 looking into BFRO expeditions. That's my thoughts on that. So you moved to this area in 2018 and then that's gotta be wild. I can't imagine well, I mean, I can imagine falling in a place so much that you would want to move there.
Starting point is 00:39:22 but did stuff start happening to you then after you moved there? So it's a I live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and I come up during the weekends and I have some very good friends that come up here and stay here as well with me and without me. So I would say yes, things kind of started happening. fairly quickly. So I put the cabin out here and a buddy of mine asked if he could stay there and with the sun over spring break. I was like, yeah, it's not a problem, you know, I can't make him. He came up and he was a legit researcher.
Starting point is 00:40:17 And the first night he was here. He calls me up. He goes, oh, you've got them on your property. and I'm like, you want to hear that, but you don't. Because you don't know what you're getting yourself into. And he was talking about stick structures, a couple of TP structures.
Starting point is 00:40:37 He told me that on a Friday night, Saturday. He sent me a picture of a trackway that he had casted. And he actually gave me one of the best, tracks out of that track way. And I think I sent you the picture of that. It's a small one. I think it's nine inches, if I'm not mistaken. You can actually see the dermal ridges on the bottom of the feet.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Oh, nice. And he, that was all he said that had happened while he was here. Three weeks later, I had some friends come from, Colorado and they they were the experiences they're not researchers or anything they all came out with thermals and it was more of a good time versus really getting out there and looking for them got out on the back deck that over's looked the creek and we were able to get some thermal hits off of that the first night and we had
Starting point is 00:41:52 one run across the front pasture and actually run into something. And then the second night, I took them out and they had samurai chatter out there, Saturday night. And then Sunday they had to, we kind of hung out around back at the cabin because they had to get up early. Two of them had to get up early to go to DFW to fly out. and 2.30 in the morning, one of the guys got up to go to the bathroom and he used the half bath across the hallway.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Well, the front door and the back door line up. And there's a stained glass windows in the door. And as he crossed the hallway, he saw something, 5, 6, 5, 7 trying to get in to the cabin. And he went across. He started going the bathroom. He was, oh, wait a minute. There was just something there.
Starting point is 00:43:00 As he poked his head out, he was able to see it for another second. There was a guy sleeping on the couch. He had gotten up. And they were both looked down the hallway. And apparently the movement in that stained glass window from inside the cabin spooked what was at the front door and it ran off. Of course, nobody thought to check to see if the door was opened or deadbolted or anything. Well, they ended up getting up at 5.30 and the front door was wide open.
Starting point is 00:43:39 No way, Sean. Oh, my, that's the most horrifying thing ever. Yep. Oh, wow. Something opened up the door and pretty much, it's a way of saying, I could come in and take you guys out if I wanted to, but I'm going to let you live. Like, that's wild. So I'm like, oh, my goodness, from now on, we deadbolt the door.
Starting point is 00:44:04 You know, it's a joke around the cabin. Now, whenever somebody comes that's new, deadbolt the cabin door, front and back. So they wake me up and we're kind of talking about it and everything. they go off and for an experiencer, it was almost a perfect weekend. Well, my buddy that was there three weeks earlier with the son, he called me up because he knew I was having these guys from Colorado come in. And he's like, how did it go? And I'm explaining everything.
Starting point is 00:44:44 And he goes, oh, I meant to tell you. And I was like, yeah. He goes, I meant to tell you, we had one trying to get in the front door. when we were here. So I was like, you're kidding me. We had one open the front door. So two different,
Starting point is 00:45:01 two different documented times where they've tried to get in when there's been people inside. So it gets better. I spent a good portion of the end of May and June. This would have been in 19, okay? 19 or 20 one of the two So I spent just about every weekend up here
Starting point is 00:45:31 Just clearing stuff out and that sort of thing And the way the cabin is situated The cabin It's a rectangle and each corner has motion sensor lights on a floodlights And The master bedroom at the front of the house. And when I get here, I always pull up all the blinds.
Starting point is 00:46:00 I just like all that natural light. And then at night, I leave them up. About 100 yards in the front of the yard is a electrical pole with a light on it. And over a month and a half, two-month period, I had seen the same. female and I'll be able to explain to you how we know it's a female. She would come from the east and make this big loop to the front door, which is on the northwest corner of the cabin. So she wouldn't set off the motion lights until she got to the front porch.
Starting point is 00:46:46 And then she would go in there and she'd mess with the door handle. Well, first time I saw her do this, She made this big loop out into the middle of the field so she wouldn't set off any of these lights. And I watched her six times over a month and a half, two months period, and she would do the same thing. And I would lean up against the master bedroom window. And I could see the back, her head, kind of her shoulders, and everything. I could never get a full view without a silhouette as she ran. in front of that and the light.
Starting point is 00:47:26 And I put my cell phone trying to get pictures of her and stuff. And you would hear probably two-thirds of the time her messing with the door handles. Oh, my goodness. And then she would run off. A couple of times I yelled at her to leave. And she would take off. Well, that was going on a couple months later. this is before I had the shop in the front or the big garage.
Starting point is 00:47:59 I would keep my ATVs and Ranger out the back of the building. And the back porch had a whole bunch of stuff that I had collected by our washers, lawnmowers and stuff. And the garage was done. I came up on a Friday, started moving stuff from the back to the garage. And I just, for fun, I just made this silly call and I got a call back. And she was just in the east, east of the cabin, maybe 100 yards, if that. And as I would move things to the back, I would make the call. And she would call back.
Starting point is 00:48:52 I finally got everything taken care. if she wasn't moving. I wasn't scared or anything. It was just, it was more of, okay, you're still there. You're still there. You're still there. I pulled up my thermal and was able to see her squatted down, almost like a chimpanzee would be on their heels,
Starting point is 00:49:16 knee spread apart. And she was just messing around in the foliage in the pine trees and stuff. And she was there, a good 45 minutes to an hour, was not phase that I was there or anything. And there were no, say, dangly bits. That's how we know that was a female. Sorry, the connection went out. Can you read that again? I was able to witness or see that there were no dangly bits.
Starting point is 00:49:49 That's how we knew that she was, it was a female. Gotcha. I was going to ask that in a minute. it. Okay, that makes sense. Wow. Oh, my goodness. So you have, I already know, so you have found tracks because you have that cast. Is it a normal occurrence to find tracks on the property? No. It's extremely rocky here. Where these tracks were found, they were making a pathway with a tractor, and it just happened to be turned up soil and stuff. Okay. So you mentioned you have motion detector lights. Do you have security cameras up? I do now. And I have not had anything really happened around the cabins since I've installed those. That was going to be the follow-up. I was super interested in that. So that really makes you wonder.
Starting point is 00:50:59 I mean, it fits right in with things that you hear from other situations like this where if you don't, if you don't want them around, you put up the security cameras and they're going to, they're going to get out of there. That is wild. Oh, my goodness. Have you just seen one individual or do you think it might be more than one? So there have been, I have seen the big male once I'm thinking, just off the deck. He yelled at me once. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. Starting point is 00:53:44 It was at night and I've got a huge floodlight that goes out over the creek. and the sound came exactly from where I was looking with the floodlight. And then there's, when I saw her with the thermal bent down, there was one behind her. There was a heat signature back there, which I would think was her mother. That's just theorizing. Right. But I think there's at least a family of three that are back there.
Starting point is 00:54:26 Yeah. I mean, and that's tricky because, you know, as you said, you're theorizing when you put like, oh, it could be the mother or et cetera. But at the end of the day, you know that it sounds like there's at least one that is a lot bigger than the female that you've seen multiple times on the property. Correct. Okay. Correct. Can you explain, you said it yelled at you. What was that like, or have you heard anything like that before?
Starting point is 00:55:01 This was the first time. It was snowing up here, and the wind was coming out of the west. And he was south of me across the creek. And when I get here, I walk the property. It doesn't matter what time it is. So I walked down to the deck that overlooks the creek and I've got a huge spotlight, like a stadium spotlight. And I clicked that on.
Starting point is 00:55:27 And the wind is coming from the north. And this thing, as soon as I clicked it on, it was, it was literally on the other side of the creek. And when it yelled, it was like somebody had punched me in the chest. It was just this, whoa. Okay. And I was like, yep, okay. Shut the light up. and my ex-wife that was in the cabin heard it.
Starting point is 00:55:56 So it was that loud. It came uphill against a stiff breeze. I wouldn't even call it a breeze. It was a gust. And came inside the cabin. But it rattled, it rattled me pretty good. Oh, so, okay, let me get that right. So it's outside.
Starting point is 00:56:17 It does the yell. roar thing out in it it affects you inside the cabin that my ex-wife felt it inside the cabin didn't feel it heard it didn't feel it heard it inside the cabin and the cabin's about 150 yards from the creek okay uphill but you're outside and you're outside closer to it and that's where I felt it felt the reverb that's interesting okay how many total people do you think have experienced something on that property at least 10 Okay. Oh, that is wild. Probably closer to 15 because not taking into account,
Starting point is 00:56:59 my friends that come up here from Colorado and I have, every weekend there's somebody up here, even during the week. My hunter friends that are on the lease, they stay here, that sort of thing, and they've had slaps against the cabin. We'll talk about John in just a minute, but he had, he and his, buddy we're staying here and I've got a front porch and a back porch. John heard something come up on the front porch and then it like had a stick and it walked down the side of the cabin and went up on the back porch.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Now these porches are pretty stout and whatever it was was creaking the boards. And they neither one of them were brave enough to look out the window. I'm 240 pounds and I could jump on these decks and nothing's weekend. Okay. I thought I just had might be interesting
Starting point is 00:58:03 is keep like a journal at the cabin and be like, hey, whoever comes up and stays just if you experience anything weird, write it down the journal and then you'd have a really cool record of what's going on. You know, that's actually a really good idea.
Starting point is 00:58:21 I think I'm going to do that. Yeah, that'd be cool. That's really great. People have been swimming in the creek. A couple of stories, my daughter, she was 21, 22. She was up here with three or four of her girlfriends, and they were all done in the creek swimming. And then all of a sudden, all of them just stopped. They had the music going.
Starting point is 00:58:44 You know, they were partying down on the creek. They had the music and everything else going. and something spooked them out of the water. They didn't hear anything. They didn't see anything. They just all stopped and said, we need to leave. And that night,
Starting point is 00:59:00 my daughter called me and had asked, if she could have the code to the cameras, and I was like, before she goes, because something slapped the side of the cabin. Now, this was an old security, system that I had up there. I can never get it to work. So I was just like, and she had told the girls, because the girls were freaking out. My daughter said, oh, don't worry about it. My dad's
Starting point is 00:59:34 been chasing this thing for like 15, 20 years. And he knows her up here. She goes, they're not going to come in. We're good. You know, so. I mean, she's got a point. They opened up the door and they didn't come in. Yeah. So, you know, that's wild. A funny story. story about the whole door locking thing. My sister and brother-in-law, they give me a hard time. They don't believe they think it's a joke, even though my dad and I have seen one, but swear to it.
Starting point is 01:00:10 But my brother, he gives me a hard time about it. But he is the first person to deadbolt those doors. I'll go out to the shop at 9 o'clock at night. I'll come back and have to knock on the door because the doors are dead bolted. So. Do you have like a special knock code in case they start being, I'm seriously, in case they start being able to knock on, on the, you know, like you never know, right?
Starting point is 01:00:36 Yep. I don't know. What else has happened up here? I was two years ago, two or three years ago, helping a buddy put up a deer stand. And he goes, did you see that? And I was like, well, what's that? He goes, I just saw a bear run across the trail. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:00 He goes, but he was standing up. No, no, you didn't. No, you didn't. And you'll see things like, you'll hear things like that. I've got a good number of stories that are similar to that. First-hand stories from people that have witnessed things like that here. My buddy John,
Starting point is 01:01:28 so let's, he's a big hunter. Owns a company down in Dallas. Former bull rider. Back in November of last year, what four months ago, three months ago, he was coming up to the cabin on Friday night,
Starting point is 01:01:47 9.30. He's about a half mile east of Little River on 144 and there was a car or a pickup truck that was about 100, 150 yards in front of them. John was following this truck 150 yards behind. The first truck swerved to the left, kind of up on this little driveway.
Starting point is 01:02:13 John thought that he had hit a deer. So John passed him and pulled in on the east side on the road. right side of his truck with his lights on. As John was pulling in, the other driver, who's from Octavia, jumped out with his pistol in a flashlight and starts walking quickly up this little hill, this little clear cut. As John pulled in with his high beams on and got out, they both witnessed for about five or six seconds, an eight foot plus size big foot walking up the hill. It walked up, turned, looked at him, and just kept on walking. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 01:02:55 And that was in November, 25, four years, four months ago. Wow, dude. Oh, man. So I would say you're not the only individual in Honeb that is experiencing things like this right now. Oh, no. I've got plenty more firsthand stuff. So John calls me, he's like, you're not going to believe it. I saw one.
Starting point is 01:03:21 I saw one. And I'm like, calm down. And he told me everything. And he had a hard time that night sleeping. So let's go ahead and fast forward to December 6th. Fifth or sixth. There was seven guys here at the cabin. John's out hunting out on the deer lease.
Starting point is 01:03:42 This very large deer lease. He's probably about eight miles back up in this lease. He's what they call a southeastern. Sattle hunter. You climb up in a tree. You're kind of in the saddle. And well, he couldn't get a good angle.
Starting point is 01:04:01 So that morning, he and I put a pop-up blind in the same area at the same feeder and everything. He went out that night or that afternoon. He's sitting. And he's a bow hunter. And he's got his phone on a tripod. So just in case something comes. in, he's going to hit record and he's going to capture his harvest.
Starting point is 01:04:26 While he's out there, he heard something behind the pop-up bind. And at first he's like, okay, so he turns his phone on because he's expecting a deer to come out. And he hears some wood knocks and some hoofs right behind. And I think I sent you the audio of it. Um, it's a video. Yes, you did. Yes.
Starting point is 01:05:25 And, um, when he heard that, he's like, yep, that's not a deer. And he had gotten all comfortable inside his pop up. And there wasn't room for him to put his jacket on. So he steps out. And he's putting his jacket on. He hears it again. And he's got a hundred, hundred, hundred. 50-yard trail to go uphill to get to the ranger.
Starting point is 01:05:54 He is so scared. He turns his phone, the video on, and just high tails it up the hill. And he says some few choice of words. He fell once or twice. It's comical, but you can hear the fear in his voice. Oh, yeah. And I sent that video to you as well. And let's not forget, he's a bull rider, a former bull rider.
Starting point is 01:06:25 I mean, nothing rattles this guy. He gets up there and we're all sitting down. We're waiting for him at the cabin. So he's got a 35 minute and 40 minute drive back to the cabin and the Ranger. He comes marching in because you're not going to believe this. And his eyes are like this, you know, and he's playing the video of the sounds. And I was like, oh my goodness, this is a real thing here. And then he, of course, he goes, I'm gluing bears, but I'm going to show you my run up the hill.
Starting point is 01:07:01 And I'd ask him. I said, why did you do that? He's like, just in case it killed me or something got me, it's recorded. Yeah. Man, are you me? Oh, no, no, no, no, no. So I think my personal thoughts on this work, there's a trail back behind there, and it was walking down. And all of a sudden, there's something different there, which would be the pop-up, is now is there something in it?
Starting point is 01:07:53 That's why he did the woodnought and the hoofs to see if there was something. something in there. One thing I wanted to ask real quick, so like when you're able to see the female and you were talking about seeing like the back of it in the silhouette, like how far away from you is the female? 10 feet. Oh my goodness. 10 to 15 feet because there's a laundry room between the front door and myself where the
Starting point is 01:08:20 window is and the master. Okay. So people have actually reported being inside the house and hearing the door. handle like jiggle yeah yes where the cabin being slapped now i've got cameras up um and it's few and far between you know oh yeah exactly because a lot of times when when the guests come up here i shut them off plan b made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago it's a safe effective backup birth control option that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by temporarily delaying ovulation.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Plan B is the number one OBGYN recommended brand and the only one that you can find at all major retailers in all 50 U.S. states. Starting point is 01:10:23 Economic headlines keep shifting, but the uncertainty remains. Market volatility, rising debt. and global tensions are affecting retirement accounts and long-term savings. Many Americans are turning to physical gold and silver as tangible assets to help diversify their portfolios. Preserve gold provides educational guidance, including how metals can be held in an IRA. Starting point is 01:10:59 So that might make sense why the guests are definitely having activity happen. Because that makes you wonder if it's just the cameras being there or if it's the cameras being on that's causing the lack of activity. And that's just one of those questions. Who knows? Have you ever gotten the samurai chatter recorded at all? I have not. I think the group that comes to,
Starting point is 01:11:32 out from Colorado has. I can ask them. I would be extremely interested to hear that if they do have it recorded. If that's something that you would be able to ask them about, I would, that would be so cool to listen to. So they're actually coming back out here in a month, and they're actually bringing some really high-end sound equipment. So if we get anything, I'll most definitely send it to you because we're going to the same places. Yeah, I would love to hear about that. That's pretty much my experiences. But as far as friends having them out on the dear lease, two years ago last October, a friend of mine's girlfriend got up early.
Starting point is 01:12:27 They were camping out on the dear lease around 6 o'clock in the morning. and have coffee. And she's sitting there and she said it's just getting light. So you could see figures and stuff. And across the creek, she had seen a person walking. And she watched it for a minute or two. And she thought it was a friend of theirs. She yelled out at his name.
Starting point is 01:12:55 It stopped and looked at her. And then just continued walking. And now they had been out there fixing deer blinds and everything else. And she had told her boyfriend. And he's like, yeah, he wasn't at 6 o'clock in the morning and walk in the woods. So there was that. There's a lot of campsites along the creeks. And there's a particular campsite where they've had rocks thrown at them.
Starting point is 01:13:26 And it's every year that they have. So at least one or two things happened to them out there. I recently met a gentleman that lives here that his cabin, he's had the same thing happen to him with the door handle on multiple occasions. And his dog goes nuts every time. And about 100 yards from that, another local, well, she's, now the vocal uh she just moved up here but uh in the past year uh she's got a cabin it doesn't have windows or blinds in it or anything and on several occasions she's heard somebody tapping on the window
Starting point is 01:14:17 and she's just like i don't even want to turn over to see um who it is so now she's got curtains but uh yeah there's things like that uh uh i've i've i I've met a handful of people that have seen them over the mountain going from Honabitatahina, an Indian highway. So, yeah. The locals, I want to say it's a 2575 split, 25 being believers, the other, not so much because they're out here every day. They don't see anything. however they're not out at midnight one o'clock in the morning like us knuckleheads are sometimes exactly exactly um all this if anybody plans on coming out this way everything is private land
Starting point is 01:15:16 and these these these big uh honey leases they take trespassing very very seriously they will slap a trespass on you so quick Um, so there's the WMA out here that I, I think you can go out on, but anything that's private stay off, because it's not going to be good for you. And just being honest, because I know people want to come up here and do research. The locals really don't want to deal with you. The hunters don't want to deal with you, especially if it's during hunting season. Yeah, it's not, it's not a good idea.
Starting point is 01:15:59 my goodness I had no idea things were going on current day like this out in the area I knew there was a possibility based on some I guess you could say almost rumors but to hear it from someone that spends time there has a has a base you know you're going up there you're not you're not living there all the time but you are spending quite a bit of time there and you have people spending time up there and and and with that information is absolutely incredible. And Sean, please keep me in the loop with what happens when, you know, your guys bring up that sound equipment and I'm sure other things will happen in the future. This has been a just fascinating conversation. Thank you for sharing what you've experienced so far. You're welcome. You're welcome. I appreciate the time.
