Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it, so settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer. For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the Caring Bridge link in the show notes. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Hi. Hi there. How are you? Yes, I can. How are you? Excellent. Good. Very well.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Thank you. Awesome. Yes, I can. How are you? Excellent. Good. Very well. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Oh, that's a weird. That's a weird. I think we're good now. Yeah. Okay. Apologies. You're good, you're good. Feel free to share what your experience was.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Yeah, excellent. So you actually did a TikTok about my Bigfoot mapping project report on this a few months ago. Really? It was last October. It got about half a million views and shared on our community page over here. But I was tickled by that actually. So it was last October on the second and I was walking dog. I work a long day so I have to be up about 4 o'clock in the morning and we walk through the
Starting point is 00:01:40 community well before anyone else is up and I was coming around the corner our cul-de-sac as a circle with three streets that kind of cut through. Very quiet. We're out in the woods, elk, deer, coyotes, all the things. It's just us. It's a beautiful morning. And I smell the most foul stench you can imagine. I mean, all the gross things, put them in a pile, hot sun, let it cook. It was foul. It was everything. Like rotting flesh, fish, rotten eggs, all kinds of stuff. My dog perks up. She has a very high prey drive. So she can smell it too. And as we get closer, it's behind this home that is these people.
Starting point is 00:02:29 come in the summer and it's kind of their little oasis so they're not home and we can it just gets stronger and stronger as we get closer and I think is this garbage is this an animal that's died is this something what could this be and I thought well just for fun why don't you try a wute bark and see what happens just see right just one because it is early don't be a jerk but Just give it a shot. So I go, who kind of loud, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:03 My hand to God, this thing root bark back. So loud. I mean, it must have had barrels for lungs and just abs and steel. It was so loud. Like it was mimicking me back to me. And my dog, she has, like I said, a high prey drive.
Starting point is 00:03:23 So her ears are fully forward. Like all the hair on her back is standing up. I can't believe no. heard this and was spoken up. It was so loud. And I wanted so bad to go and invest. This was, I mean, I'll say Washington State. And yes, Washington State on the Olympic Peninsula. And if something happened to my dog, it would be my fault, and I would feel terrible. And I knew better than to go to the whistles and go to the root barks. And I said, okay, you know what this is. don't play games, just keep going.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And as we're coming around the corner, the river, there's a beautiful river and it gets kind of close to our neighborhood. And I can hear the elk clomping around. And they're not scared of anything. You know, they could care less about your dog or your truck backfiring. But they were absolutely terrified. I mean, their eyes were all the way open, neck all the way back, clumped together really close. So this bigfoot was a muff of a potential predator that they were scared. So that was enough
Starting point is 00:04:35 for me to know I have to go. We cut our walk shirt. I go home. I go back to that site. And I said, got to look for evidence. It's going to rain. Any evidence is going to depreciate or be washed away. Just take a look and see what you can find. And I find four tracks, one adult and three juvenile ones and I cast the right foot of the juvenile footprint because it was the best but I took video pictures and measurements of everything and it was truly like it was truly astonishing how huge these feet were how I mean I even looked at other pictures online I looked at comparisons with grizzly bear and black bear they were no relation to each other at all.
Starting point is 00:05:30 And then the following, so someone shared your TikTok and all of the store, all of the comments were either that's a bunch of bull or people sharing their own stories. Exactly. I remember that one went nuts. And a lot of it went really crazy. And after that, I started looking into that area more. And I was like, oh my goodness, there's stuff all over here.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Like, like Cushman, I mean, you really just like throw a dart at a map in that area and it doesn't matter. Like it's all over the place. So you have, you have actual trackcasts? I do. I have, I have a track cast. I brought it to the Bigfoot Research Convention in that November and Ocean Shores and showed it to people. And I hadn't told anyone the story until I went to that convention. And it was like a safe space to share your encounter and everyone believes.
Starting point is 00:06:24 you. So it's kind of being in a little bubble, but it was it was fascinating to hear other people who were receptive to me, but also to each other. There are so many amazing stories, but the there were a lot of commonalities. Not everybody smelled a stench, but there were plenty who did. Yeah. And it was, you know, it was quite interesting. That is, it is really cool to actually be able to, to talk to you. A lot of these ones, I never get to talk to the person. Like if I make a video, But every once in a while, this stuff lines up. And it is so cool to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:06:59 Have you heard other accounts from that same area? Oh, yes. Yes, I have. There was a gentleman who had a, not the best video, but he had a, off to the side of the road. When you're looking at the video, you see the dirt road. And then to the left, there's this large, hairy animal going back and forth, left and right, backwards and forwards, kind of shaking behind a bush.
Starting point is 00:07:22 And you can clearly see it. but he zooms in on the road, like going forward instead of on the creature. And he goes, oh, there he goes. They're running off now. And apparently it ran off into the bushes. There were several people who, oh, I saw two of them up on Mount Jupiter, or I saw one over here in this area or something like that. But there were others who have said, you know, I've seen something or I heard something,
Starting point is 00:07:50 heard some howls. I also heard a howl actually the following, almost a moment. month to the day. I just try a howl and I got a I got an answer. It was very loud. It was very, very long. Just a really loud a woo. And we have we have coyotes, but they don't sound like that.
Starting point is 00:08:09 And wolves have been almost driven to extinction. They're much higher elevations and farther away. So I think that it was response. That Bigfoot was responding to me in that morning. But I'm 100% of it. believer and I've done further research Gifford Pinchot and other areas around that part of where I live and there's there's a lot to be seen there's a lot of a lot of people who believe a lot who don't but a lot of people who do yeah I mean if if you are wanting to get into it you you
Starting point is 00:08:45 are in the perfect area because like as you said I mean Olympic Peninsula but also Gifford Pinchot down in Schumania County I mean it's such So wild. You would run out of time in your life probably trying to go to every place that people talk about out there. I mean, there's so much. Absolutely so much. One last question. So has this put you on a path to try to figure out what's going on with this? Or what is your thoughts about Bigfoot after having this experience? Yeah, I was already a paranormal operator, but it was go. and I just hunting ghosts and then I thought wouldn't it be cool to see this and and I'll tell you I I don't think it the question is does Bigfoot exist I think the
Starting point is 00:09:38 question is what is Bigfoot yeah because it seems to me that they're mammalian bipedal of course but they seem to hover between this world and another the hologram eyes and how they're able to fade away and disappear and be just enough out of the light that you don't see them even with a flashlight or a spotlight or something. They were able to avoid cameras very well, especially trail cameras, but you can hear them and they usually are seen when they're not paying attention, when they're not being careful, not because you went out hunting for them necessarily. I think they are highly intelligent, clearly have a communication, a language of their own.
Starting point is 00:10:21 I also think that they're the only animal, if you're will that we haven't messed with. They're the only species that we haven't either hunted to extinction or destroy their natural habitat or wiped them out. They certainly don't need any help from us. And they're not trying to mess with us. And I don't, as a conservationist, I can't see any reason to go and hunt one or capture one or any of that nonsense. I think they, they're respectful of us and we in turn should be respectful of them. This is the only one we haven't screwed up, guys. And it should stay that way. That's such a good point. I've never heard anyone bring it up that way before and it is definitely true. It's the one we haven't really messed up yet. So hopefully continues to do that.
Starting point is 00:11:08 But if you ever have anything else happen or any weird experiences out there, I would love to hear about it. I mean, you've got my email now and you know, feel free to drop. Yeah, it's a Bigfoot Society at your Bigfoot Society at Gmail.com. Bigfoot. Dot society at Gmail.com? Just Bigfoot Society at Gmail. All right. I'll send you that picture.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Awesome. Well, hey, thank you so much for coming up. I'm going to check in with a few other people, but good look out there. And hopefully you run into some other things. Thank you for your time. I'm enjoyed. Bye-bye. Man, that was so cool.
Starting point is 00:11:47 That's why I love TikTok lives. You never know who you're going to talk to. Hi there. How are you? I'm good. How are you? Hey, doing well. Thank you for coming up. Feel free to share what your experience was. I've had many. I've been kind of thrown into researching for 14 years now. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:12:10 So instead of, before I began, I was one of those people that thought believers were crazy until one ran in front of our car like 10 feet. And it took me two weeks. to even process it in my brain what I had seen. Because I live in Indiana. We don't have bears. And if you want to look at sightings, look at Morgan Monroe State Forest. Yep. Because that's where it was.
Starting point is 00:12:42 And I started just doing my own research and started following some people who did what they called gifting, habituation, things like that, and I tried my hand on it with it and was very successful for years. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take you in the middle after I stopped being afraid of them and had a lot of positive experiences. Most of my experiences were always positive when my ex-husband wasn't around. When my ex-husband was around, they tend to like to be scary and do a lot of screaming and a lot of banging. But when it was myself or myself and my daughter, they were always gentle and very protective. So this was probably the summer of 2017. My daughter and I had gone out camping. And it was very odd. It was one of those
Starting point is 00:13:47 nights where it was kind of stormy earlier in the night and everything. So when we put the tent up, we put up the guy wires and everything. So the tent didn't blow away. And we had heard a little bit of hunting going on because you could hear them. It was almost like clockwork. At a certain time of the night, you would hear the female howl. You could hear them move around the forest in a certain direction. And sometimes you would actually hear a kill. And we had heard the screaming and squealing and all. And my daughter was like, you know, that's, let's just go to bed. So we went to bed. It was about three o'clock in the morning, I heard gunshots. Now, this is a forest where they do allow hunting, but at this particular time, there wasn't, it wasn't hunting season.
Starting point is 00:14:37 So, of course, I sat straight up, terrified, and my daughter slept right through it. And that's when I noticed that somebody had set up camp because the campground was completely empty, except for my daughter and I. And then somebody looked like a hiker because they had a very small tent. And I kind of saw a light on like they were, you know, looking at their phone or maybe a computer or something in the tent. So after I heard the gunshot, I kind of laid back down. And then I heard something coming up the ridge. And if you've ever heard something coming at you like that, that is that large coming uphill, it just sounded far too big to be a human. I knew what it was.
Starting point is 00:15:29 By the time he stepped up onto the campground because you know what tent camping is like, the areas aren't grassy. It's kind of like hard, packed down dirt. And I could feel it. he walked around the back of the tent over to my daughter's side and stood there. I could hear him breathing. You could almost feel the heat off of him. And this was, this is one of the biggest males. And I had visually seen him before on two other occasions.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And we have 18 and a half inch footprint castings of him. I have photographs of his footprints. But anyway, he stood there for a moment and then as he walked around the back of the tent, he bumped into one of the guy wires and pulled the entire corner of the tent where I was kind of down and then it snapped back up. Like he realized, oh, crap, I'm going to tear the tent down. I had my window unzipped and he'd come around and he was standing right there. And as much as I wasn't afraid of them at that point, I couldn't move.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I could feel the heat. I could hear him breathing. And he just stood there, I guess, to make sure we were okay. And then he walked off and up the road, and I knew he was heading toward the other camper. So the next morning, my daughter and I got up. I asked her, I said, did you hear what went on? I said, you were sawing logs over there. And she said, no, I told her what happened.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And she goes, well, I'm glad I slept through that. Now, she has had sightings before. She has seen the white one. There are Class A sightings of a white one there at Morgan Monroe. She has seen that one. I haven't seen it. But she believes and everything, but she still creeps her out. So I was telling her about it.
Starting point is 00:17:35 And she was like, well, you know, I hope that person up there is okay. And so we got packed up and everything. And I noticed the guy was kind of looking over at us as we were packing up. So as we were leaving, I stopped and I said, hey, I said, everything okay. And he said, could you stop for a moment? So my daughter and I stopped and we approached him. And he was somebody who just travels from like state to state and goes hiking. and there are some amazing trails through Morgan Monroe.
Starting point is 00:18:15 And so he said, am I safe to hike here? And I'm like, what do you mean? And he said, well, he said, something happened last night and I thought it was you guys. But now that I see that you're two very small women, I know it wasn't you. and I kind of looked at my daughter and I smiled and I said so you heard him and he said what do you mean him and he said I said what happened and he said that he had heard the gunshots no big deal he said he was watching a movie on his laptop and he said he heard something coming through the grass and that walked around his tent and even had stepped on the um oh what do you call it he had a tarp underneath
Starting point is 00:19:08 tent and you know how some of those are kind of crunchy and he said he heard that and he said then he heard it move off and he said I just thought it was you guys messing around with me he said but I heard howling and weird noises during the night am I am I losing my mind I said no you're not and he said am I safe here I said you're absolutely safe and he said is that what I think it is I've heard stories about, he said, I don't want to sound crazy. I said, Bigfoot? And he said, exactly. I said, yes. I said, we have had many experiences here. I said, to be honest, I just believe he came up to check on us, saw you were here and thought they would check on you too. And he said, this is, this is too crazy. He just, he, he turned white as a sheet. And I said, no, I said,
Starting point is 00:20:03 you are safe. I said, we have been researching this area for many, many years. I said, we camp out here by ourselves all the time. We've never been hurt. I said, we've had a few things thrown at us from the juveniles, but they've never done anything to actually hurt us. And I said, that's just one. I have, I've actually written two books about my experiences, because there have been so many. what's what's the name of one of your books i feel like i should know who you are indiana bigfoot the beautiful mind and then part two is indiana bigfoot the cave and beyond i've talked to so many people from uh indiana india bigfoot yeah yeah okay i'm gonna check those
Starting point is 00:20:54 So, I mean, I talk to quite a bit of people, but your stories are amazing. Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization. I've been with them since 2014. Since the first thing. Leeroy and I, Leary Nancy, Lewey Worry runs it. I've been friends with him for a long time. And I've actually spoken with him several times and shared my stories. but I honestly think when we talk about the odor, the smell,
Starting point is 00:21:30 that's only happened to me once, and it was during one of our, because we have spring and fall camp outs, and we have a lot of people that come who have never had experiences before. And I do believe wholeheartedly, it's kind of like a skunk or any animal who would have a defense mechanism
Starting point is 00:21:50 such as an odor, I think that is something they use as a warning. Because I've never smelt it in the times that they have been close to me. And we have had a lot of Class A encounters. I honestly believe wholeheartedly that they will show themselves to people that they believe they can trust. People who aren't going to go out and I'm going to use quotations, hunting them because that's one thing I've never done. I have never, we never really share the exact location where the vast majority of the things have happened. There's only one of
Starting point is 00:22:37 two other people who know where my research site was. I have since moved to far southwestern Indiana and I get back up there whenever I can but I have had so many positive experiences and just like the last woman said I will protect them at all costs sure absolutely all costs because to me it seems like almost like they're reaching out even more because I think experiences are starting to get more and more popular yep and I think the state of the world right now and the way it has been for decades. It's almost like they're reaching out. Maybe there's something they have to share with us, something they have to teach us.
Starting point is 00:23:27 I'm not sure. But it just seems being part of the IBRO, more and more and more people are coming forward, saying, you know, I have this experience. We have so much. We have so much. many people in our group who own private property who have them clans that live on their property. Yeah, Indiana is so crazy. I have so many photographs, gifts that they have left me. And I think probably one of the most exciting things that I have is a recording that was taken about 2.30 in the morning as we were leaving in the middle of winter. her. And it was almost like they didn't want us to go. He howled and then he begins speaking. And it's about a 30 second clip. And you could hear him very, very clearly speaking in, of course,
Starting point is 00:24:31 the language that almost sounds Native American. And that is a clip that I have held on to. I've had it since probably about 2015 and I still I transfer it phone to phone. I keep it and it's something that the IBRO proudly plays when they go to like libraries and speak and things like that. That's awesome. That is so cool. I've talked to a few people about Morgan Monroe. I think what is I'm going to mess up his nickname as a Squatchman. I love him to death. I have a picture of Meet Him and Leroy together. I went to speak at one of the spring campouts,
Starting point is 00:25:17 and I got to meet Squatchman. I love him to pieces. And Martin, I don't know if he's ever spoken to Martin. He has the YouTube channel called, I think it's Camping with Sasquatch. No, I haven't. I'll need to write that down. Martin actually took over for me for a while. And I taught him what that particular clan liked as far as gifts and things like that.
Starting point is 00:25:46 And he had very, very positive experiences. But the first night he camped there. He texted me losing his mind because things were happening. And he's like, I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do. I said, it's fine. It's fine. And it was almost like they knew.
Starting point is 00:26:02 we were communicating because they calmed down and very positive things started happening for him and he did it for several years camping on his own. So yeah, we've got a really wonderful group, IBRO Indiana Bigfoot Research Organization is on, we've got a big, big, big Facebook group. And like I said, we just had our spring camp out. We have one in fall and Leroy and Nancy have a little shop that they just opened in Nashville, Indiana. Yes, I've seen pictures. That's pretty sweet.
Starting point is 00:26:43 One of the weirdest accounts I've taken over the years is actually by Morgan Monroe as a gentleman who was telling me about an experience he had near Cross School, which is northeast of Morgan Monroe. It's like a Revolutionary War Cemetery. He was in this cemetery and he pretty much saw a nine and a half foot tall big foot. But then after they had a stare down, the crazy thing is, the wild thing is that it walked directly into a tree and like disappeared into it like Harry Potter. You know, when he walks into the, but this is the thing I've never heard anywhere else. after a little bit
Starting point is 00:27:30 it came back out of the tree but it came backwards out of the tree so it like phased back out of the tree after it phased into it and I was like oh my goodness this area is nuts like I've never heard anything like that so there been the only
Starting point is 00:27:48 I mean we I haven't experienced anything to that degree although Martin did I have experienced mind speak. Sure. Yeah. And this was, this was something I was like, I'd listen to people's stories. I listened to people's experience and I'm like, that's very interesting.
Starting point is 00:28:08 I put it in the back of my brain and say, I hope this happens to me. The only thing that I have that I can't explain is being out in the middle of the forest, pitch black, no lights, and hearing the knocks and whatnot. And then all of a sudden getting a flash of light like, somebody had flashed an old school camera in my eyes, just boom. And that's happened three or four different times. And that's one thing that I absolutely have no explanation for. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:28:41 That is, that is extremely wild. I just had my first experience with lights down Tennessee. And it messes, that messes with your head. I was not prepared. I was like, what's happening? we like put the light on it and it's like there were any bugs you know it's like exactly crazy it is absolutely crazy man what a i'm going to check out your your books for sure uh indiana bigfoot the cave and beyond it's edwina cato is that right i'm yes i said that wrong i apologize no
Starting point is 00:29:15 that's my okay former name okay yeah sure sure but yeah um i wrote those back oh shortly after i started really having a lot of experiences. And I'm getting ready to bring both of the books together into one. And I'm going to kind of look back because now that I am out of that situation I was in with my ex, it's like hindsight. I'm seeing now why they acted the way they did whenever he was around. They didn't like him. And when he had experiences when he was on.
Starting point is 00:29:56 his own they were always terrifying and i just believe wholeheartedly they know the type of people we are i i just believe they have just this incredible instinct when it comes to people so yeah i i would be honored if you took a look at those um but you know i'm not here to sell books i just love sharing the stories because i used to not be a believer at all i was one of those people that thought Bigfoot believers were absolutely nuts until it happened. And they're amazing beings, just incredible. That's awesome. And it's life-changing.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yes. And thank you for coming up and sharing. And hopefully maybe we'll have another chat someday. It sounds like you have many different things you've experienced, and that was probably just a small. Small amount of them. Yeah. thing from the terrifying to hilarious because they do, I always, I always say, and I'll close with this, is the messing with Sasquatch commercials they used to have on TV. Now, it's, it's the opposite,
Starting point is 00:31:10 because they literally, if they trust you, they will mess with you, especially the juveniles. because I had one drop out of a tree right next to me one night, and I nearly jumped out of my skin while this little stinker ran down the hill, and I, after being shocked, I laughed about it, because they are jokesters once they trust you. 100%. You hit it right on the head, but we will stay in touch. I'm going to make sure that I follow you on here,
Starting point is 00:31:46 but thank you so much. for coming up and you have a great rest of your time. Hopefully you can hang out for a bit. Thank you. Oh, I will. Absolutely. Thank you. You got it.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Bye-bye. Oh, it's such a great conversation. That area is wild. Nobody knows about it. Just south of Indianapolis, too. It's wild. Before we wrap this episode, I want to say something directly to a very specific group of listeners.
Starting point is 00:32:18 If you're in the military, any branch, or forces, and if you've seen, something that no one can explain, or if you're a national park ranger or forestry worker who's been told to stay quiet, if you're a pilot who's seen something strange down on the ground, or if you're with the FBI, a federal agency, or working intelligence, and you've stumbled upon something you're not allowed to talk about, and if you're a firefighter, paramedic, or search and rescue responder, who's heard screams or found tracks that didn't make sense, if you're in the logging industry on a remote oil, field or trucker with government contracts and you've had something happen that you've never told a soul and if you're a biologist, a wildlife specialist or a field researcher under contract who has found evidence you're not allowed to report. If you're a pastor, a missionary, or someone on a
