We're bringing him back on the show to get an update about some things. But you may remember we talked to him. It was a few episodes back.
Starting point is 00:02:08 But he's over there. Head guy at Ben Bigfoot Research Group on Facebook. It's a great group to check out. If you're interested in the Bend area and surrounding area of Oregon, a lot of really good stuff going on over there. there but how's it going randy good good jeremiah thanks for having me yeah i mean i had such a good chat with you last time i was like man we got to get randy on the show and you know i've been having a lot of really interesting episodes uh about this area and also i've been getting kind of on a
Starting point is 00:02:46 kick about the oregon bigfoot highway and uh just starting to realize how this all connect with Silverton and Malala and Estaceta and then you take the Oregon Bigfoot Highway through Ripplebrook and it's just nuts up there, dude. It is great. You're absolutely right. There's so much great activity. Even with the fires, I think there's still some great activity happening. I think there's maybe even a migration
Starting point is 00:03:19 using that route. It's easy access to east and west side. So yeah. Oh, through that through that piece of the Oregon Bigfoot Highway, you think maybe? Yeah, yeah. Where are the big fires right now out there? Well, the biggest ones
Starting point is 00:03:42 this past summer and fall were they were mostly down south and east of us. I don't recall anything crazy in the Detroit or the McKinsey area this year. So that's good. Well, I should say of 24. Everything else was south and southwest of central Oregon. So I think the north side, again, F.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Decatur, not so bad, if I recall. Absolutely. How are things going on with the Ben? and a Bigfoot research group for you. Good, good. We got, we're doing, probably every other month, we're doing our squatching brew. So I have a meeting, try to have some good content.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Also let people share questions and any stories, anything they want to talk about. Again, I emphasize it's a safe environment as well as the group for people sometimes to share their story, much like you. It's a platform for people to feel comfortable and not be criticized for something they may have experienced in the woods. So it's going well.
Starting point is 00:04:59 I have a meeting coming up in April that I'm getting excited about. I do have a new report that I've been following up on in the Ochoquos, just east of Ben, probably an hour and a half. This gentleman was referred to me. He is, for his pastime, he loves, he's a rock out, loves going up and picking for rocks and he was up there late January on a south-facing hill that was exposed where he could kind of pick at some rocks it's his favorite pastime and where it was clear from snow and he goes up there to get away and he had something mimicking
Starting point is 00:05:41 his picking and it kind of surprised him he wasn't sure it was an echo but he is way up in the Ocho Coes away from any humans, especially in the winter. And so he would try to change up to picking noise and change the rhythm. And whatever was coming from the ravine would mimic the exact rhythm that he replicated or did, I should say. So you got a little nervous. This was late January. So he kind of highted it back down this snowy hill back to his truck. And it continued to mimic him.
Starting point is 00:06:19 while he was walking away, he thought that was kind of a nerving, and he reached out to BFRO, and then he was referred to me. So we had a conversation, and I said when the weather gets a little better, I like to go out with you. Well, he went up just last week on a Friday, and Susie got back into cell service running back to town. He called me right away, and he said, you've got to come hear this. This is nuts. So I went up on Saturday. And what he experienced on Friday was a vocalization coming from the same origin as the mimicking with a whistle followed by an opposing whistle.
Starting point is 00:06:58 And it shook him up. So I went up with him on Saturday to the location, very remote. There is cover. There is water. And there is probably a herd of, I'd say, 80 to 100 elk right now in that spot. So a lot, you know, it touched a lot of boxes for a big. being a perfect location and habitat for that moment. So kind of, he's going to go back up again.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I recommended to him to keep, obviously to keep safe, but also to be predictable and he might have more experiences. You know, take the same vehicle, same time of day, which he does. He wears the same coat, kind of goes in the same area, head down looking for rocks, you know. So who knows, but that's my latest and greatest as far as central Oregon. That's awesome. That's an area where I haven't, I don't think I've really talked to a lot of people from the Ochoquo National Forest, correct?
Starting point is 00:08:01 Correct. I have multiple reports from that area. It's a very, very productive area. Like the Spanish Peak area, the Antone Ranch, if you got your map up, kind of honed in on Spanish Peak. between Spanish Peak and Dayville. I've got some reports that came to me from hunters, bow hunters and rifle hunters have all had experiences there. It can be really sick.
Starting point is 00:08:29 There's Murders Creek, Black Canyon, which, you know, just those names alone are very alluring. Yeah, it's a great area. I just don't have the resources to cover that area as thoroughly as I should. Yeah, and that's what it comes down to at the end of the day is resources for sure, your time and etc. But so this Ochoco area, is it kind of like a connecting area to, I mean, it kind of looks like it could be from Deschutes over to like Humatilla in that area? Yeah, yeah, it is actually the tail end of the blues.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I mean, if we really zoom out, it kind of, um, it kind of, um, hopscotches to the blues, which of course we all know is such a great area as well. The Blue Mountains. But yeah, it's kind of the game waiting to the Blue Mountains heading to eastern, northeastern Oregon. Absolutely. I mean, Oregon is just a crazy, crazy, so crazy. They're going to put on my tombstone. He never made it to Washington.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Because Oregon is so crazy. Yeah, we got some great stuff. We're very fortunate. You know, and Washington does too, for sure. But, yeah, Oregon's just, you know, for me, it's, you know, it's location and how much can I cover within an hour and an hour and a half. That's kind of my radius. But you're right. You know, there's some really great stuff happening here, especially as you, you know, you've been covering the Oak Ridge area, Esticata is great.
Starting point is 00:10:14 You know, Oak Ridge, I'm starting to learn is some, gosh, darn, it's got some really untapped areas that I'm still learning and I'm getting reports. You know, some of these are older reports or even secondhand reports from hunters who won't go in that area. So, and that tells me that's the area I need to be in. No, Oak Ridge is crazy. And, I mean, I've talked to an individual from Cottage Grove and, you know, up, she was talking about some things that happen up. at Blair Lake, which is closer, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:47 it's going east away from Oak Ridge, but man, that area is just a wild, wild, wild time. But, you know, I've started to look more,
Starting point is 00:10:56 also a little north of Oakridge as well. I've been talking to people up there. And I had reached out to you because of, just curious about the, the subtle lake area. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Have you, check that area out? I have. So one of my very first report that I didn't know exactly what to do because at that time it was a passive hobby, more of a curiosity of Sasquatch. It was enough for me to be made fun of that work if I brought it up, which I didn't care. I have no humility. And so my first report came to me from Soutle Lake. Actually, it was just south of the entrance of Suttall Lake, July of 2016. About 2, 3 in the morning, a gentleman was coming home from a family reunion slash funeral. He was hanging back to Ben to be at work that morning.
Starting point is 00:12:08 And he left me a voicemail, this is a coworker. he left me a voicemail right about 2.30 in the morning, which he never does. He doesn't call me at all hours. And so he left the voicemail saying, Randy, I always kind of laughed at you and your hobby or you're curious about Bigfoot, but I won't laugh anymore to something very tall. And Harry just ran in front of my pickup just past Soutile Lake entrance. So with that report, that kind of got my fire going. So that's my first report at Class A.
Starting point is 00:12:41 running if you're looking at the map highway 20 it ran from east to west he slowed down it crossed his headlights and then went up the bank on the west side and then grabbed the tree and stood behind the tree but watched him as he drove by so he slowed the speed of his vehicle to about 30 to 25 miles per hour because he wanted to know what the heck was on two feet that just ran across highway in three strides and it appeared to be staring as at him as he went by so it shook him up enough and this is a very much a very non-believer to now he's he you know curious about the topic so that's my that's my very first one to class a just past um that is jack lake road which is almost to cross from the entrance from Soutle Lake.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Jack Lake Road, beautiful prints were found in the snow in the 80s from a friend of mine while Christmas tree hunting with her father. A large trackway. They quickly packed up and left. She had her kids were small at the time and her father was a logger and he goes, we don't want to be in this area. Later on in about 2018, I was on an expedition. on an expedition up near Jack Lake, which is just right up the road from Suttall on a Forest Service Road,
Starting point is 00:14:16 had a beautiful callback from something. And if you keep going further north, there is a spot called Candle Creek. There's a trailhead. It takes up to Cabot Lake and did a day hike up there, and we were surrounded by Knox up there, tree knocks. So, yeah, I personally have had that happen. I've collected multiple reports from Candle Creek, including a vocalization coming across the canyon from the reservation side, the Warm Spring Reservation. A gentleman reported to me. And then closer back to Settle Lake, a little bit further up Highway 20, southwest.
Starting point is 00:15:03 There's a lake called Link Lake. I've had two reports from Link Lake, vocalizations, and a Class A. And then we're all somewhat familiar with Suttal Lake and the Class A report of the people staying in the cabins. And this was in the 80s as well, I believe, with a small group menacing these people who were staying at the cabin to the point where they slept nurse a reuben and then drove off or left rapidly. But yeah, Soutle Lake is just, I can just talk and talk and talk until I run out of breath. But Sutter Lake area, the highway, highway 20 is very, very productive. All the way, if you keep going east, I've had some great things happen up by Tombstone Pass,
Starting point is 00:16:02 lava lake road I've had some reports near Big Lake but yeah to answer your question some great stuff Sunn Lake has got a lot of curiosity for sure
Starting point is 00:16:16 that's so great to hear because it lines up perfectly with the research that I've been doing Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages What if you could get more from what you already do
Starting point is 00:16:36 as a shell fuel rewards member that's just a regular weekday evening You get more rewards, more savings, and more special offers. Earn rewards when shopping, dining out, and fueling up. And all of that becomes fuel savings when you're at the pump. See, there are no extra steps and no changes to your routine, just more value built into it. It fits naturally into what you already do throughout your day.
Starting point is 00:17:05 And all of your savings stack, so you can add them on top of your everyday savings. So wherever your day takes you, you get a little more out of every stop along the way with Shell. Use the Shell app and enjoy life with more. Your nearest Shell station is less than five miles away. Plan B made over-the-counter emergency contraception legal more than 20 years ago. It's a safe, effective backup birth control option that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by temporarily delaying ovulation.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Plan B is the number one OBGYN recommended brand, and the only one that you can find at all major retailers in all 50 U.S. states. There's no minimum age requirement and you don't need an ID to buy it. You can order it through DoorDash and other major delivery platforms too. That's freedom to be. Use as directed. No matter the occasion, snack time should be easy. That's why Skinny Popcorn keeps it light, airy and endlessly delicious. Skinny Pop is made from just three simple ingredients,
Starting point is 00:18:11 delivering an irresistible taste without being complicated. Skinny Pop simplicity allows you to freely enjoy as much popcorn as you want. Just open the bag and enjoy. No overthinking, no tough choices. When it comes to snacking, Skinny Pop just makes sense. Deliciously popped, perfectly salted. Skinny Pop, popular for a reason. I mean, that BFRO report is so good. It's funny because when I used to do a call-in, I believe it was the calling on YouTube. It was one of them. I actually had that guy call in. Oh, no kidding. Wow.
Starting point is 00:18:58 I'm, listeners, let me know if I'm off on this, but I'm pretty sure I've never released that audio and I think I lost it, which is unfortunate because if he's listening, I would love to talk to him again because it was just such a fascinating conversation, but just one of those things where I think it might be lost unless someone's like, no, dude, it's an episode this. That would be great, too. I hear you. Camp Sherman, what kind of area is that up there? Camp Sherman is gorgeous. Camp Sherman has a lot of big, big pine and ponderoses. Closer to the highway gets a little more thick. You got water running through there, the river running through there.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Camp Sherman is a spot where. where it seems like April is kind of the time to get there. April or May is when I've had reports. And the beauty of the Camp Sherman area is you just pull off onto the Camp Sherman Road and start venturing north and you can hang a left anywhere in those woods and do primitive camping. There's even a great horse camp in there. So it is absolutely gorgeous with some just,
Starting point is 00:20:23 beautiful floor, a lot of cover, a lot of water. It's a spot if you come out here, when you come out to Oak Ridge, if you got a little, you know, a couple days before or prior or after, that'd be a great spot for you to hit. I highly recommend it. That's good to know. You know, there's this gentleman I interviewed.
Starting point is 00:20:46 We were talking about him before we started. And by the time this air is, you all have already heard it. Why did I say it like that? That's weird. I guess I do live in Iowa, but, um, so he was saying that they found a great track over by three creeks wilderness. And then they went to the Ranger station allegedly in sisters area. And, uh, they were all worked up because they were pretty young.
Starting point is 00:21:13 And they're like, dude, we got a track. You guys can come out here. We'll show you where it is. And they were like, buddy, we've got so many cast in the back. We're fine. And I was like, oh, my goodness. That's kind of cool. I mean, this is a while back, though, you know, this is probably like way back there.
Starting point is 00:21:32 But I was like, oh, man, you hear stuff like that. And it makes you wonder for sure. It does. Three Creeks. I just got another report from Three Creeks. This gentleman is law enforcement. That's all I can say. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:46 But he has had a sequential experience up in the three Creeks area with heavy, heavy tree not. and also vocalization as well. I also have another Class A report from Three Creeks. From a while back, I think this is the early 90s, people doing some adventure skiing, snow skiing, and something came out, a tree line screamed at them. They immediately tried to leave the area, but it started to come after them.
Starting point is 00:22:25 And they were lucky enough to get onto a road that was buried in snow, but they got onto some sort of a clearing of a road. And they both hopped up into a grater, a tractor, a grater used for plowing snow. They hopped up inside the cab of it and shut the door. And this thing circled the grater, but it circled it from probably 100 yards to 200 yards out. and he said he'll never forget it. It was the scariest thing you ever heard because it was so mad.
Starting point is 00:23:01 This thing was so angry and so mad that it was almost whimpering, chattering and whimpering out of frustration. You can hear the frustration come up from it vocally. And it went on until late nightfall and then finally stopped. And then they were able to get brave enough to get out of the greater, the cab of the greater. and get back to safety, back to the main road and call for help. Their parents came and got them. I also have another report from three creeks, and I believe it was a Boy Scout leader who saw one up on a ridge.
Starting point is 00:23:44 He and three other scouts saw it before peaked over the ridge. And gosh darn, this was really long. This is probably the 60s. So nothing recent. But that area seems to have some great stuff happening as well from back in the 60s to currently. So the gentleman, the deputy, the law enforcement deputy, he has an audio recorder up in this area and has been collecting audio. And I don't know how successful he's been. I haven't heard recently, but pretty fascinating.
Starting point is 00:24:22 You see, you just, the deputy is actively investigating Bigfoot and collecting sound recordings. Correct. What a world. That's amazing. Is that crazy? Yeah, this guy reached out to me as well. And he's just a fantastic guy. And he is lucky enough that his description, he's able to be out.
Starting point is 00:24:52 in the woods for most part of his shift. He also gave me a great report of he and his son. This was 2015, I think. Polina Lake, which is my other hotspot, we talked about before. But he was, it was the end of season. They're getting ready to shut the gate for winter. And he and his son were up there by themselves camping.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And they were in a backpack tent, but the tent was very small, had a very small footprint on a very large tarp. And he said late at night, I don't know, 10 or 11 o'clock, some was asleep, but he could hear something walking up into their campsite to the point where you could hear it walking on two feet onto the tarp. And then it slowly, something slowly pressed in on the tent onto this gentleman. and it scared him to death. He jerked up and whatever it was then ran off.
Starting point is 00:25:58 By the time he got the zipper open at the tent, he had no visual. It was long gone. But that experience is what kind of shifted his whole thought on the Sasquatch Bigfoot topic. And those are the kind of individuals that we need in the positions that they're in. That's absolutely fascinating. Yeah. Wow. How cool is that?
Starting point is 00:26:25 Yeah. Yeah. Great guy. There's another area I've been looking into just as I've been researching. There's actually a few. One is Detroit Lake. And this other individual I just talked to, this will be out by the time this is. But he had a really interesting encounter on the actual island in the
Starting point is 00:26:49 middle of Detroit Lake, which is kind of cool. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Piety Knob. I don't know if I'm saying that right, but it's pretty cool. But have you heard a lot of things coming from, I know that's kind of like a hotspot in a way, right, that Detroit Lake? I didn't realize, it made sense.
Starting point is 00:27:06 I, just until recently, I did hear that story of the gentleman on the island. Oh, good. And I didn't realize that's a great story. I can't wait for that to come out. But it is, daggum, it is so sick in there and steep and hard to get to, which just makes it perfect. And that is also where I received a report in my group, my last Squatch and Brew, a gentleman first time to the group, to the meeting, shared his story. And he was camped across from the island on the backside. doing remote camping by himself.
Starting point is 00:27:51 And it was just him and his German shepherd. And the story went, he night one or two woke up and something, he woke up to feeling wet in the tent and come to find out that his German shepherd was cowering, cowering, and had urinated all over itself and inside the tent. And once he realized like, oh my gosh, my dog just fits itself, he then heard something pacing around the tent, thrashing. I could hear breathing. And so it's really intimidating, scary, scary encounter. But that is also in that same general area.
Starting point is 00:28:40 And that's also not far from their Forest Service employee that I know he's got some audio set up out there as well. So yeah, I mean, I'm starting to learn more and more about Detroit Lake and it makes sense. If you go, you come out here to visit, that's a great area to go and just kind of drive around. It is absolutely beautiful, fit, green cover, water, food.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Yeah, great spot. Yeah, part of me wants to is so tempted to go on the Oregon Bigfoot Highway, but I was like, man, I am not prepared. I mean, it's, I'm not going to have a rental that's prepared for that. I talked to Jeff Rohn and the stories he had of what happens on. I was like, man, I don't think I'm prepared for that. Ripple Brookwell, maybe have to wait for another day. But you have to be prepared. I can work out of vehicle for you.
Starting point is 00:29:41 If you're serious, I might have something for you. Well, that's awfully nice of you. I will definitely, we'll keep that in mind for sure. Have you, you know, another area that I heard some stuff from recently, Silver Falls State Park, have you ever heard anything from that park at all? I have that only third or fourth hand, nothing direct to me. Okay. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Yeah, it's pretty. I have been there. I've done a couple of day hikes and there. It's gorgeous. So when you have your meetups, what kind of people come in off the street to these? You know, I have, boy, a wide, it's a wide spectrum of people. Usually it's people who've had some sort of an experience and just, kind of sit against the back wall and listen.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Those are most of the people, you know, especially the first, the first timers, they, they show up and they're not sure what they expect. They're like, you know, how serious is this going to be? Is it going to be anything interesting or is it just a bunch of hoopla? And so a lot of them come and they don't really participate. It was just fine. I don't ask people, just show up and sit down and listen, you know? and so I find that people for the first time will show up
Starting point is 00:31:17 they'll listen and then at the end of the meeting I always try to take a moment and introduce myself and talk to them and almost all of them always have a story like oh yeah this one time I was hunting or this time I was camping or fly fishing that's that's when they get excited for two reasons I mean one is that I approach them and make them feel comfortable. And then the other reason is, you know, they're like, wow, finally I can tell someone, like, I can not, they feel comfortable because they're not the only person in the room.
Starting point is 00:31:55 You know, like, oh, okay, other people have had these, you know, interesting encounters. And it's great to be here and see that there's a small crowd with curiosity and stories stories to share, you know, from all backgrounds, right? So, yeah, so it's fun. This last meeting I had, boy, is the biggest number of new people I have seen yet, which is great. That's what I want. I want to obviously collect reports and data locally. But also, you know, I want people to be brave enough and curious enough to come to the meetings and feel comfortable to share their experience. And they meet, you know, people may not even have experience.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Just want to know more about the topic, you know, non-believers, perfect. I'm not here to sell it. You know, if you want to show up for an hour and a half and listen to me, babble and try to put out some good content and something educational. And I always do a little, you know, try to do a little trivia. This last time I did trivia and some Sasquot's trivia and through candy bars and get people kind of excited and engaged. That was a hit.
Starting point is 00:33:00 But, yeah, they're fine. That's awesome. I apologize if we had this conversation last time. But I think if there's listeners that haven't heard that one yet, it might be interesting. But so when you, when you set these up, do you have people already set up to kind of share what happened to them? Or is it just a thing where it might, if it happens organically, then it does? Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages. What if you could get more from what you already do?
Starting point is 00:33:45 As a Shell Fuel Rewards member, that's just a regular weekday evening. You get more rewards, more savings, and more special offers. It's a safe, effective backup birth control option that helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by temporarily delaying ovulation. Starting point is 00:35:10 No matter the occasion, snack time should be easy. That's why Skinny Popcorn keeps it light, airy, and endlessly delicious. Skinny Pop is made from just three simple ingredients, delivering an irresistible taste without being complicated. Skinny Pop simplicity allows you to freely enjoy as much popcorn as you want. Just open the bag and enjoy.
Starting point is 00:35:29 No overthinking, no tough choices. When it comes to snacking, Skinny Pop just makes sense. Deliciously popped, perfectly salted. Skinny Pop, popular for a reason. Organically, yeah. You know, this last one, I should backtrack on that. This last one, I had a couple of people who have had a class A experience. I invite them to come and share their story, and they did.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And one of them, man, I love for him to be on your podcast. And he had that Class A encounter while kayaking up the creek. And, man, I'll tell you, he was so nervous, telling the story in front of everyone. But I was so proud of him, so grateful. everyone had mad respect for him and they were all super grateful that he shared it and made it real you know and and he um he shook my hand after he goes gosh darn it randy that was the best therapy i've ever had that's great yeah i mean i would i've never been to something like that before but i imagine it it has to be a very special experience and and i mean it's because you're not
Starting point is 00:36:51 putting everything out there on the internet, right? Or like on a podcast, but there is some risk to it in a way because you don't know who's going to, you know, if you're sharing something, you don't know who's going to walk through that door from the town. You know, could be your boss. But I mean, it is, that's a great way to meet people that are thinking the way you are. And I think it's very important that you're doing something like that in that area. Yeah. No, it is. I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm. very fortunate that it's well received and I just feel like it's so important again you know for people have that safe platform in an area where we have so much really great activity and things happening I think it's it you know it's a win-win it's symbiotic I'm getting something out of it and they're getting something out of it and it's just I hope it grows I hope more people show up the next meeting, which is in April, April 19th. I'm hoping I'll get more people and more stories and it's fun.
Starting point is 00:37:56 And then after the meeting, I'll try to have a guest speaker. This one I'm going to line up a guest speaker to share some, you know, some scientific knowledge or their mythology of being out there and looking for Sasquatch. So I try to have a guest, but then after the event, I encourage people if they want, you know, we go next door and have some lunch and a beer or soda. just talk freely, you know, and, you know, oh, hey, show me on Onex, where that spot is and whatever. So that's really fun too.
Starting point is 00:38:26 Dude, I love Onyx. I would love for them to be a sponsor one day, but that is the best, dude, when you talk to like a hunter and they can be like, I can share the pin with you. And you're like, oh, man, you are awesome. Like, it's such a great app and they have a big foot marker in it. It's amazing. They do.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Yeah, I'll have to show you one day my screen. I'm looking at it now and it's just covered and they're all mostly big foots, but then I have more colored based on the experience, you know, so vocalization to one color. Class A is another color, structure or whatever, something odd is a different color. So all the colors have a meaning. They're all saskwashes, but the colors all have a different meaning based on the report. That's a great idea because then you could easily analyze and see if there's patterns, like are all the classes in one area or along a certain line or yeah yeah and i would say um
Starting point is 00:39:23 you know looking at mine you know it's it's some pretty rough data but um you know you zoom out a little bit and you go oh wow okay there's definitely a pattern um and it is it's the cascades you know the pacific crest trail you know i mean it's uh it's right down the center um and then it uh it's kind of clear um East of Bend and then, you know, I start seeing more icons in Ochoquos, you know. And then South, you know, Sealson and Crater Lake, I got more, more symbols. But yeah, it's fun. Absolutely. You know, last time we talked a lot about, I believe it was Coltis Lake.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Have you heard anything else come out from that area? Um, I, I did. I had, gosh darn, darn, I'd have to check my notes. I did have a gentleman. casually tell me about, oh, yeah, Hunter, yes. I had a hunter come up to me at my last meeting, first time at this meeting. This gentleman is a, oh, my gosh, he had two great experiences. One, those seasons, he was on the backside of Coltis Lake, he and his buddy.
Starting point is 00:40:41 They were alone, and they heard something up in the trees, hidden trees, vocalizations, and they left. I don't think they stayed the whole night. They left. And then this same gentleman found beautiful prints in the snow last year up in the area that has your curiosity. Lava Lake Road off of Highway 20, heading west, look to your left there. There's a road called Lava Lake Road, and about four miles back up there.
Starting point is 00:41:17 He found a beautiful trackway, but he did not have a phone with him. So he was out there scouting. It must have been early winter. But yeah, so yeah, I did get another one from Coltis. But right now, Coltis, of course, is buried in snow. So I'm excited to get up there. Hopefully spring when the snow starts to break a little bit and get around to that. that entire lake, that entire area try to get up there.
Starting point is 00:41:49 I got some interest in some more equipment. I'm looking at some long-term audio, wildlife acoustics, and then a parabolic, and then probably a smaller, another audio recorder. Start just collecting audio from that area. That's awesome. This is just a question as an outsider, not from the area. So apologies if to you, you're like, you know. But so there's a route that goes from sisters to McKinsey Bridge called the McKinsey Highway.
Starting point is 00:42:27 It says that, oh, yeah, see, here we go. It says closed November to July. It's pretty wild and crazy, isn't it? Yeah, that's a great. It is closed. And that is where I've gotten some reports, received some reports. that's not far from where that greater, where the two guys went and climbed up in the cab that greater.
Starting point is 00:42:52 That is a beautiful route. Believe or not, I've been here 25 years. I have not gone over that route. I don't have a good reason why I haven't. But it takes you over to the McKenzie Bridge. And that is such a great area. That whole McKenzie, McKenzie River, and up by Clear Lake,
Starting point is 00:43:17 all the way down to like the Bell nap area, is loaded with reports. I've had a report not far from Clear Lake. If you're looking at the map, a bow hunter had a vocalization there, And then I had an interesting encounter up at Robinson Lake, something making some sort of really intimidating yell noise from across the lake from Mount Washington Wilderness. But yes, beautiful, beautiful area full of great reports. Again, very, very wet.
Starting point is 00:44:05 It's a great habitat. It's thick. It's lots of cover. Very few people. especially when you start going up off out of the way, a few miles. I mean, you just don't see people. I mean, it's just thick.
Starting point is 00:44:22 And the roads are kind of gnarly, which is all my favorite, right? Where it's inconvenient for people, that's where I want to be. Because I think that's where these things, that's where they thrive. But, yeah, that whole Mount Washington Wilderness, which covers the Three Creeks and the McKenzie Pass. Um, that's just a beautiful spot. It's one of my favorites. It's so green and lush.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Exactly. There's so many that, that stretch 126 has, I've gotten so many weird little mysteries and emails over the past months. Like, I guess there's some gas station out there that has all these bigfoot tracks in it. You can check out. So I got to track that down. Oh, okay. Um, yep, I've heard about it.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I'm not. Oh, okay. Yeah. Okay. So that's cool. You heard about it too. Um, and then, uh, I mean, everyone is probably aware of Ike's pizza for different reasons in Lieberg.
Starting point is 00:45:18 But I had a listener that she sent me, is actually an interviewee, but she sent me, she had taken a picture of a Polaroid that was on the wall back in the day in Ikes. It's very interesting looking. allegedly the back view of Bigfoot taken from the area. It's very interesting. Yeah, but there's so many different trails you could follow. You know, not physical trails, but just kind of like mysteries around the area. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:58 There's a lot, a lot going on. Yeah, no, great area. I do have, I'm just kind of looking at them at. I do have a report. Gentleman and his wife were driving up past McKenzie Bridge, and they were heading north following the river, and the wife saw something sitting on the rocks across the river, and it was bent down, and she yelled at her husband to slow down,
Starting point is 00:46:26 and he did, and they pulled over in the dirt area, and they could see this thing. the river's loud so obviously you didn't hear them then it was it was going through the rocks was lift up the rocks analyzing the rocks like it was looking for you know crawdad's or something and then just cashed even see them casually stood up which blew their mind and then it just turned around and walked right into the tree line and was gone um i think he said it was 12 to 15 second moment, but really, really impressive. How many times, you know, if you think back from the different reports that you've gotten,
Starting point is 00:47:11 have you gotten any where what the person saw was up in a tree? No, I have not. Interesting. Okay. Yeah. I don't doubt that. I think there's something to that, but I have not received any reports of that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:30 No, it's on my mind. I just talked to an individual really interesting stuff that happened over by Otis on west of the Van Duser corridor, so you know over by the coast.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Okay, yeah. But yeah, something you really don't hear a lot, I think, but it just sticks in my mind because of that. Yeah, just very, very interesting. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Oh, another thing we talked about last time that I want to check up on. Have you heard anything more about Badfoot down by Crater Lake? I had a feeling. I have not heard. And that's my, that's my nickname. Oh, okay. So this is my little nickname for it, you know. Actually, I got it from one of my,
Starting point is 00:48:29 from one of my people in my group, you know, he goes, oh, yeah, it's like there's a bad foot down there. So I just nicknamed that area, the area of bad foot. So, no, I have not heard anything more from that area down there. You know, I think the latest report was I got last fall from the Rabbit Ears, Robert Reuters Mountain, I believe it is. A lady and her husband who were camping in their sprinter van heard a very intimidating sequential yell or yell. And I'm trying to zoom in on it here.
Starting point is 00:49:14 That's off a highway 230 west of it. And that's the latest report I've gotten down there. and again yeah it was on October 26 of 24 followed by some really high-pitched horn type vocalizations my notes so that area
Starting point is 00:49:39 you know and I've gotten so many reports just north of there of them crossing Highway 138 and why these things cross the highway when cars are coming blows my mind I'm not sure what the thought is there. Why do they do it? Why can't they wait until a car passes? If they don't want to be discovered,
Starting point is 00:50:01 won't be left alone, why are they doing it in front of cars? Why not wait for the car to go by? But Highway 138 is the border of my badfoot area. So anything north of 138 is I feel better about, but anything south of 138, Trader, Lake, National Park. I will not even come close to going in there alone.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Gosh, I mean, go with a buddy, but definitely probably armed. Just, man, I've heard just things of being, these things chasing people out of the woods or aggressively attacking, or not attacking. Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages. What if you could get more from what you already do? When you're a Shell Fuel Rewards member, you can.
Starting point is 00:52:58 I shouldn't say word tack, but just being really aggressive and menacing, not curious like the ones I'm used to here. The ones down there, they don't want nothing to do with humans and they're going to move you in a very aggressive way and manner. Crater Lake is one of those interesting places because there's so much lore about it that you hear things and you hear some really interesting things about people going missing or people acting in certain ways all of a sudden that would not be
Starting point is 00:53:42 the way they would probably choose to do. And I think it would be tough, though, because it's like how much of these are campfire stories, but then how much are actually, you know, legitimate things that have happened. And that's why it's cool that you're in an area like that, because you might be getting some things that happen down from that area, you know, from actual people that experience them, which is pretty cool. Yeah, no, I am very, very fortunate. I agree with that. I think the closest report that I responded to and felt comfortable enough to respond to was up 138 near Diamond Lake, a police officer off duty saw one across a road. And so we responded to that report. you know being a first responder he's able to take a pretty good snapshot of what he saw it and it was pretty
Starting point is 00:54:44 impressive and we spent three four days up there didn't see much evidence to support it except you know it came up today i was talking toby a little bit um the only evidence i thought was interesting i'm not going to say evidence what i thought was interesting was off trail where we're trying to trying to do a great fashion research trip there were sticks so again off trail just looking for any sort of evidence that would prove that this gentleman saw something there was a primitive game trail that was highly used by you know animals of any sort but along this game trail up along this hill forest thick thick forest I climbed up bottom myself at that part. I'd separate from the group and I was going up to up to hill into the trees just trying to see if I saw anything that didn't look right. And there was a half a dozen sticks that were broke off and stuck into the ground along this little game trail. And I thought, you know, well, that's weird. Why, you know, if there's humans up here, which it's really
Starting point is 00:55:59 hard to get to and be this spot is near a very popular falls so people who are in that area are literally getting out of their car to use a restroom and get back in the car or they're doing a quick height to go look at the falls but they wouldn't wander up this hill that steep and treacherous for the most part and stick literally randomly stick these little sticks in the ground the sticks are 12 to 15 inches tall broken off and they were just jabbed into the ground along this little, this little game trail. So I took pictures of it. And Toby mentioned that someone else had experienced that as well.
Starting point is 00:56:49 I don't know if there's anything to it or not, but that's the only thing I thought that was kind of baffling. Like, what's the purpose of that? I had no idea, you know. And, you know, maybe a human did put him there. Anything's possible. I don't know if that's probable, though. What was the diameter of the sticks? Oh, gosh, maybe an inch and a half.
Starting point is 00:57:11 So there are branches like broken off the tree, and then they were just stabbed into the ground. Like a border. It was like, you know, you'd see them every five, six feet-ish, stuck in the ground along this game trail. And you could pull them out. I pulled one out and go, that's random. Why would someone, oh, there's another one?
Starting point is 00:57:31 And there's another one in a very, very remote area. So that was baffling. That was rather interesting. So the first time I heard of someone else seeing that was today when I talked to Toby for a minute. Someone else has seen that as well up in Washington. So who knows? That's right, guys. Tobes Johnson from A Flash of Beauty.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Shout out to those guys. Tob is a great fan. He's very cool. It was great to hang out with him and the others at a Sasquatch Summerfest for sure. They do. They do resemble humans. They do live like animals. You know, they hunt, you know, like a primate wood, you know, and they scavens when they can.
Starting point is 00:58:25 They're opportunist. You know, they're either going into a resort's trash can or they're stealing a buck from a hunter, you know. So, but yet, you know, and I'd even say the characteristics are human-like to the point where I would, you know, there's been a suggestion that these things are on the spectrum, neurodivergent, right? Absolutely. So there's the human side, and they're curious about humans. The experiences that we've had here, they're curious about other humans as humans would be. So, you know, I could have been attacked at Coltis Lake a couple of times and never have.
Starting point is 00:59:19 So they're curious about who's hanging out in their woods, not threatening. But yet, how are they surviving? Are they, you know, are they acting like animals? And are they killing, you know, elk. Of course they are. And deer. Are they going after the crawfish in the lake and the fish when they can? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:41 You're hopefully going to be over at the festival, right? Yeah, I got on my calendar on books. So I'll be there. Yeah, I'm going to, I think a small group of us are going to camp. Priscilla is going to find me a spot. I asked for a spot near water and activity. And she said, I have a spot for you. So I'm going to head over there probably within the next month or so
Starting point is 01:00:05 and have her give me a quick tour of it. We'll be camping in the woods and heading in there during the day. That area, when I was, when I have my maps out last year, that area was blowing up. Like, just random hunters would come in and be like that area right there. so let's say well actually all over it's crazy
Starting point is 01:00:29 I mean vocalizations all sorts of weird stuff so I would I mean if that's if that's area down where she is putting you guys I'd say that is pretty pretty solid I would say
Starting point is 01:00:44 and I think I had like maybe three or four I'll have to bust out the maps again but some weird stuff Yeah, no great area. That's actually when I had my issue where I had to go to the urgent care at the end of my time there last year and like get my legs checked out. And then I went back and I was like kind of I was like forget this, you know, because I had to like go to the hospital and shut down interviews. And I was like, ah, I'm getting a burger and going for a drive.
Starting point is 01:01:20 Who cares? like I drove down to that and I drove way out there and I was like having lunch by a boat ramp or something and I was like oh it's so nice to so and then all of a sudden dude it was just like not nice and I was like this is how people disappear I was like something you got that that creep feeling it's either it's either a cougar or it is a big foot or something and I was like eh I guess I'm going to shut this down let's back to town. I love it. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:01:56 It's pretty cool. But Randy, it has been a really fun time chatting with you again. I can't wait to chat with you, hopefully this summer at Oakridge. But do you mind spending a few minutes sharing how people can connect with the group? Oh, yeah, absolutely. So we are on Facebook. that's really the only spot at this point. Ben Bigfoot research group. I love to have you in the group. If you've got a story or an experience you want to share, especially a local one, also stay, if you join the group, you'll see all of our latest activity, evidence, see reports.
Starting point is 01:02:41 So we try to keep it pretty active. Try to keep it pretty clean, meaning that it's satisfying. Esquatch evidence, for the most part. We don't really want anything. I don't really a lot of filler. So we do screen anything that's going to be posted on there. It's really meant to be a resource for people to share their stories, hear about evidence, hear about our stories that we're investigating, and just a platform to learn and feel comfortable and share.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Again, we'll be having a squash and brew April 19th, Sun River Library at noon. And that will be on the group side as well. But yeah, if anyone here in Central Oregon's got something to share, I'd love to hear about it and talk and go investigate. That's fantastic. Well, always fun to talk to you, Randy, and thank you for coming on this show again. Absolutely. Thanks for having me. It's a blast.
Starting point is 01:03:49 I just want to take a few minutes to say thank you to you, all my listeners, for listening to the podcast.
