Matt Moneymaker is, he started an online petition that you need to sign so that, you know, it can actually be recognized as a national day. It would be cool. You know, around our community, we all are hyped about this, right? we are good for national Sasquatch Awareness Day, but I just realized something before the show started. Wouldn't it be weird if, well, here's the weird thing.

So I remember just a few days ago, I was talking about it was Bob Gimlin's birthday. This year is the 55th anniversary of the Patterson Gimlin film. So literally, Bob Gimlin had his 36th birthday. And then a few days later, he went out with Roger Patterson, and they filmed Patty the Bigfoot. I mean, that's pretty much the best birthday present you can ever get. And I bet he didn't have any better birthday presents after that for sure.

My good buddy Tate Hieronymus has released the next episode In his series Search for Sabbe Tonight. So you can go check that out. It is all about, so the first episode was released last month

and it was myself and Tate on an expedition in Iowa. And then this month, released today, tonight, is about his expedition. Pretty much he went all around the U.S., the western side. And episode two is about Bluff Creek. So you've got, he's, Tate's in there, of course, Jonathan Easley, Ron Mann-Reed. You've got Damon Irons is in there. you've got all sorts of people and they they take you all around Bluff Creek in the surrounding areas do so night expeditions if you're into watching expeditions go down this is it and they find some crazy stuff it's about an hour and a half long which for for Bigfoot nerds like like myself and anyone watching this it is the thing you know you're just you're loving it when the documentaries are long

another interesting thing that I saw and this I saw this on Tooby last night. So there's a new movie. So Tooby is starting, Tooby is a free video watching app. And they, you know, someone works at Tooby that loves Bigfoot because they have literally 30 free, at least 30 free Bigfoot movies and documentaries and a lot of stuff you can't see anywhere else. and it's free. And also a lot of like small town monsters and cryptic themed stuff. So they just had a new Bigfoot to be original movie release. It's interesting.

It's very, let's say if you've seen ancient aliens, you know what it's like. The actually, and now the narrator sounds very similar to the same narrator. It's probably the same guy. But the cool thing is that on shows like that, you've got your talking heads, which are when you film people and they're talking about a subject and then they just take clips from it and kind of cut them in and out with graphics and stuff. The talking heads in there are people that are pretty young in the community right now. So if you're into podcasts and Bigfoot stuff on Instagram, you're going to find a podcast. a few people in Bigfoot versus Yeti on 2B that you'll be like, well,

There's a really good, there's a lot of really good documentaries on there. Definitely check it out. I want to say one of them is a 1990s Bigfoot documentary that is just solid. I think it's like Giants of the Earth. It's a weird name, but it is, if you've never watched it, it's got Henry,

I hear Franzoni in it. It's one of my favorites besides In Search of Bigfoot with Robert W. Morgan. If you've never seen that before, that I don't know if it's on a 2B, but I know you can watch it on YouTube. Take the extra time to find a good copy so that you don't strain your eyes watching it.

Hey, today is 1020 of the year 2022. But back in 1020 of 1967, Roger and Bob went out that day and they were able to capture a Bigfoot on film. A female Bigfoot named Patty. and it's wild. The story is wild, but it hasn't been disproven. 55 years later, there's people that don't believe it. There's people that really like to talk bad about it, which is fine. That's your thing.

But just think, 55 years, they haven't been able to fully reproduce that costume. And I guess that could be taken two different ways. They haven't been able to find the costume, but they haven't been able to find the costume, but they haven't been able to make a costume using the materials that were available at that time in 1967. Ooh. All right, Campfire Steve says he's got an interesting story. Hey, folks, tried to clover red-eyed cryptid with a log of Cypress Creek Preserve last weekend. I missed it left.

My pal convinced me to go back to camp. That's a pretty wild story. I know your buddy hike with Mike was talking about your earlier campfire, Steve. Nice to meet you. But he came up with the idea this year to start a Sasquatch Awareness Day so that people all over the place know about what Bigfoot is, and maybe we can use that awareness to actually find a Bigfoot. I saw an interview with Matt, and he said, the easiest way to celebrate National Sasquatch Awareness Day is not to shave. Ironically enough, I shaved the other day.

So sorry about that National Sasquatch Awareness Day, but hey, it's the best I could do for you. You watched any good documentaries lately I know you're a documentary guy No Not recently been busy But I did let to your podcast with Bryce Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Really interesting, you know, because you know, I wonder about him a little bit because he's an actor and now he's on exhibition Bigfoot, but you know, I find him to be pretty interesting and sincere, so

good stuff. It's an interesting set up, isn't it? But, you know, after talking to him, I mean, the end of that interview got really deep when we started talking about UAPs and stuff. So he's definitely, he's into the weird stuff and it's hard. I think it's hard to fake that. So he's definitely into it, you know. That's my take at least. But Joe, what you got on your mind today? Well, you know, I do a lot of traveling and research in Southern Illinois, right? Oh, yeah. And, I kind of subscribe to this theory lately.

It's not my theory, but let me explain. You know, we had a lot of Native Americans in this area, the Aligni tribes, as we call them. And, you know, I've been out to Arizona and the desert southwest and such, and it seems like the natives used to congregate or build villages or settlement or, you know, they traveled around, obviously, but near geological anomalies. Sure.

And they'd always, you know, refer to them or believe that they were sacred places for some reason. And it makes me wonder if, you know, as they're traveling around, you know, migrating with the herds, you know, trying to get their food source or whatever, if they come across these geological anomalies that kind of affect the mind.

And maybe that's why they thought, you know, that it was a sacred place because they would feel different when they'd go into these weird areas. Like in southern Illinois, there's a lot of fault lines. Okay.

Just wondering, like, what's your thought process on that? Do you think that's a possibility? You know, I've, you're not the first person I've heard bring this up, actually, Joe.

And I don't, I can't remember if you were there the year that this was talked about at the Viamator Visitor Festival. There was a speaker that actually brought this up there. And it was such an interesting viewpoint. But because, you know, in that area of southern Illinois, like little Egypt, yeah, there's a lot of stuff, a lot of weird stuff that goes down. There's, you know, a lot of, you got Bigfoot out there. You've got, you know, different. Enfield horror. Exactly there.

Yeah, the Enfield horror that now has been seen two times in history. And it's just like, just the thought of like, you know, maybe. It's people are being affected by, you know, these, these, these fault lines or these like, you know, magnetic things going on. Exactly. Yeah. And it's just, it's really fun to think about, right? It makes me wish that we had places like that out here in Iowa. And I'm sure we have some little places, but like it just seems in Southern Illinois. it is just amped up to 11. For sure.

Yeah. All kinds of paranormal activity, old stories. So, you know, it makes me wonder. And, you know, you have, of course, a lot of fault lines in the California area. There's a lot of things as well. I don't know what it's like in, you know, like West Virginia. Point Pleasant. I don't know if that's like close to the 37th parallel either.

It's an interesting viewpoint. Yeah. Because I see where you go. Personally, personally, I would hope that, you know, cryptids are real creatures, but, you know. I would too. I would too. Yeah.

But the mind can do some weird things for sure. I think we've definitely proven that through history. Absolutely. Have you, what's the weirdest thing that you've experienced down in the southern? Because, you know, you are from the southern Illinois area, right? Yeah. Well, more central, but yeah, I think I do a lot of work down there. Just weird, you know, nothing concrete, but, you know, there's always like weird lights in the sky that you can't, you can't really.

tell what the heck they are. Wow. There's tons of UFO activity or sightings in Illinois. We have an air force base down there. So, you know, thought process could be military, but they don't really fly out of there anymore. You know, personally, I've experienced paranormal stuff, but um which kind of you know that stuff creeps me out more than cryptids because you know if you're talking

about the spiritual world what are you going to do you know what are you going to because there's not much you can do yeah no but um yeah um of course there's always uh a not um anomalous uh audio you know just kind of weird sounds that you hear, especially in the forest and canyons of southern Illinois, there's always like weird sounds where, you know, I'm not a big woodsman, but I've been in the woods my whole life. You know, like there's a difference, you know. I'm not a hunter or anything, but avid hiker. But there's some stuff where it's like, I hope that's an animal and not something, more strange.

Lots of weird stuff like that for sure. And of course, when you're in weird areas, you always have feelings and, you know, that you're being watched. That could be natural stuff too, you know, where just stuff in our DNA where we, you know, from being, from way, you know, thousands. Oh, exactly. Yeah. Try to be careful.

Yeah. And down areas. but, you know, there's just certain areas you go into where it's like, I just don't feel right here. You know, there's, and of course, maybe that's the geological anomalies that I was talking about. Who knows? Oh, yeah. I mean, I had a caller the other night where they were talking about how they were in the middle of a forest in Iowa. And all of a sudden, the entire group just started getting freaked out and wigged out about something.

and they all just turned around, got out of there. I mean, yeah. There's a little bit more to it when there's a group as opposed to like one person. Sure. When there's multiple people and you start getting feelings, which that has happened with me as well, then it kind of tells you that, you know, it's not just someone just getting scared for no reason, you know.

Yeah, it's weird. It's weird, right? It's very weird. Yeah. The cool thing about, Joe, I want to make sure I bring this up, too, is you also, so you're a person who's interested in the area of the weird things that's going on in your area. But you're also creating films about different, you know, cryptids, things like that, paranormal things of the area that you're in, which I think is awesome.

So I definitely want to make sure that you get that you're able to bring up something about the films that you've done if you don't mind too. Oh, yeah, yeah, I appreciate that. Like probably the second one I did was a story about this woman named Elizabeth Reed, who was the first and only woman to be. hanged in Illinois. This happened in 1840 something. And now there's like paranormal activity associated with, you know, with her.

And so that was like my first interest. Like that's down in the eastern part of Illinois, southern Illinois. And yes. So, like, I got into that and I'm like, well, you know, it's pretty cool. And then I got a hold of Chavloos and Kevin Nelson. They wrote a book called The Big Muddy Monsters, which is a story that happened in the 70s, basically, about a white, big but like creature in southern Illinois. That's along the western edge, which, by the way, I misspoke. The Mississippi is also Western.

but yeah so the big money monsters is uh named after the big money river down there and uh so that was real interesting that's that was like my first real um documentary where i talked to people about cryptids and you know the people in that story some of them are just related to the people that saw it and some of the people i talked to a couple of them were actual witnesses and you know, those people were very sincere. Like, I could tell they weren't making things up. Well, like, one guy was a young kid when he, you know, was involved in the case. And he never said, you know, I thought I saw Bigfoot.

It was just like, well, this is what I saw. And, you know, the police force backed up his story because they hunted down something in the forest. You know, and then, you know, that's. You know, just being in an area where things have been documented and have taken place is a really cool feeling. It, like, kind of, it gives you a rush, you know, and it makes you think, well, okay, I'm standing in a spot where something might have been here, you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. It's very cool. And then the one I'm still working on, it's been a while, but I'm still working on it is a really cool UFO case.

that has taken place almost near the same place where the big money monster happened. Oh, really? 20 miles away. And this also happened in the early 70s. Basically, there was a big UFO flap going across the country at the time. About, I'm not sure how far. Maybe within 100 miles of the area in Piedmont, Missouri, there was 500 UFO reports that. Oh, wow.

And so this story I'm doing, this UFO came across, this border town, rivertown in Illinois called Grand Tower, and was seen hovering above the power plant there. It's been a report, you know, documented. Multiple people saw it. And Kevin Nelson actually told me about this area. This area is kind of like the, like a chestnut ridge area of Illinois. It's just paranormal activity, cryptid activity, UFO activity. And, you know, I've talked to people who have witnessed all of this stuff. So hopefully that will be out within the next five months.

You know, I've talked to Troy Taylor and Troy Taylor. He kind of like haunts Alton, Illinois, where... Oh, yeah. Small town monsters was down there. He was a portera in the skies. Exactly. The Piusar Bird, yeah. Nice.

Thunderbirds and things like that. Well, Troy Taylor is more into the paranormal side down there. It's supposed to be like the city tout itself. It's the most haunted city in Illinois. And it's a really cool area. I'll tell you that's probably the area where I had my creepiest encounter in southern Illinois. There's a Confederate cemetery in Alton, Illinois. Okay.

Because the first Illinois penitentiary was in Alton during Civil War. It was Confederate soldiers' terrible condition, disease and abuse, and they buried these Confederates in a old goat field. and unmarked grades oh man and so you go there now there's a monument but there's no marked grade

and I was filming there one day with you know I had some audio equipment on and heard some crazy stuff really yeah like I'm like just like grading noises and just metal on metal

weird stuff that was amplified because of those stuff I was wearing, you know. And it made me like, okay, time to go. Yeah. Just in the daytime or at night? It was actually in the daytime. Wow.

It was amplified. My senses were because it was a little foggy outside. Sure. Cold and dance, you know. Typical, you know, if you want to write a creepy story, that's kind of atmosphere you're getting. but that's what that's what my documentaries take me to these places where you know haunted locations shifted locations and you know the best part about it is talking to the people and listening to

their stories but yeah that that's a story I didn't know about you that's pretty cool thank you for sharing that show I always have people they're like, hey, I saw this documentary about the big muddy monster. Have you seen it? I'm like, dude, it's a great documentary. So people are always bringing that up to me. So that's an Amazon thing, right? Or where can you best watch that one?
