Bigfoot Society - Retired RCMP Officer Comes Forward About a Bigfoot Call
Episode Date: October 6, 2026A family called police after something spent hours circling their home and shrieking. The responding officer reportedly watched a huge, two-legged figure clear a five-foot fence. The family said it re...turned after he left.Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Chris Raabis comes forward to share the Bigfoot-related call he helped follow up on near Pemberton, British Columbia. He describes interviewing the frightened family, hearing his colleague’s account, and documenting the incident in a police file.Chris also shares his own unexplained experiences near Nelson: strange chattering during a nighttime dog walk, breaking trees, a thunderous impact he interpreted as a thrown boulder, and deer remains with no visible blood on the surrounding snow. What happened outside that family’s home—and what is happening in these British Columbia forests?Get the free Bigfoot hotspots report: https://bit.ly/bfsreport📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here:https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible.
From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers.
These are the voices of the people who've lived it, so settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever.
So stay with us.
Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer.
For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the Caring Bridge link in the show notes.
Thank you.
All right, Bigfoot Society.
You've got the privilege of talking to Chris Rabis today.
A little bit of background about Chris.
He is a 54-year-old retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or RCMP.
He was a firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor,
and incident management intervention instructor.
He also has a degree from the University of Calgary in history.
And four daughters and a Christian, which is awesome.
My goodness, hats off to you.
That's four daughters is kind of the most impressive thing, man, as a parent.
Good for you, dude.
Good stuff.
Chris, welcome to the show.
this is going to be a very interesting discussion. You've got some things to share about some incidents
that you've had over the years about a certain area in Canada. And feel free to, first off,
is there anything that you want to share about your employment with the RCMP? Or do you think
that's enough for listeners to know?
I'm retired at this point.
So medically post-traumatic stress disorder,
sort of a, you know, a thing that happens to law enforcement people,
you know, especially the places that I was posted,
they were pretty rough war zones.
So, yeah, it's one of those things.
But yeah, so I'm retired.
You know, I hunt fish, take my dogs in the bush, that kind of thing.
Gotcha. So you are not just sticking to the city or town areas. You're actually going out there in the woods. Pretty deep, would you say, when you're doing hunting and fishing and going out with your dogs?
Yeah. I'm blessed where I live near Nelson, British Columbia. I mean, Canada has one-tenth of the population of the United States, and it's the second largest country in the world. So you can imagine.
that there's a lot of you know deep woods where you can go and not see anyone for
long as you want to be out there and those are the kind of areas that I like to be in
you know it's it's my happy place but I mean I can get into the most recent
experience that I had I was just walking by dogs and even
where I walk my dogs. It's a Forest Service Road, proximal to Nelson, and I walk my dogs up there a lot.
I gained quite a bit of altitude on the drive there, and I think I start walking. What would I be at?
I think I'm probably about 1,1100 meters above sea level, and then I can gain another 300 vertical
meters something like that so like not crazy high like not Colorado high but like not bad um and so
I I park in this place that I always park in this particular evening it was about a year ago
maybe a year and a bit it was it was bow season so early September last year and I was I was
you know, walking around dusk.
So I got out of the vehicle, got my dogs out.
They're idiots.
They're running all over the place.
We start walking up the road.
And there were a couple of interesting things that happen.
So first of all, when I walk, I don't bring, like even if it's dark, I don't bring a flashlight.
I'm in the bush, whatever.
I've got my dogs.
I feel good.
So I don't bring a flashlight.
I have a light on my phone if I need one.
So, you know, walking with the dogs, we gain altitude, and then we come sort of to a height of land that's more rolling.
And you kind of have to imagine, like, I can use my hands, but to describe it, if you've got a slope, there's a road that's cut into the slope.
So you've got the high side of the road, you've got the road, and then it slopes down.
and generally it's going to slope down into, you know, some kind of drainage or a river or a creek or something like that.
So this road that I'm on, once I get to height of land or close to it, it's crossing.
There's probably about on my right side, so as I'm walking towards the creek, it probably goes up about 100 meters and drops down.
varying length, like a varying distance because as you walk towards the creek, you get closer to the
slope. I know that's kind of hard to understand, but like the road that I'm on will actually
meet the creek. So when we get to the point at which I'm talking about, it's going to be about
150 meters down to the creek. So I'm walking my dogs. It's getting dark. I'm listening to a podcast,
and it's actually a paranormal podcast that I love.
And this lady on the podcast is telling a ghost story.
And as I'm walking, I hear this chattering sound.
I don't know how to describe it other than some sort of chattering sound.
And the podcast that I'm listening to,
it's curated phone calls of people calling in their paranormal experiences,
and sometimes the host will overlay sounds on the podcast.
And I thought, oh, that must be just him overlaying these noises.
And then I thought to myself,
why would he put these sounds over some ladies' ghost story?
So I stopped and I, you know, wound, as it were,
the podcast to the same point where it was.
And I should mention, I stream my audio through hearing aids.
I wear hearing aids.
As a firearms instructor, I probably didn't wear my hearing protection as much as I should have
and genetically as well.
So now I have to wear hearing aids.
So I listen to the exact same story and there's no chattering.
I wish I could mimic what I heard for some reason I can.
and that in and of itself is unusual to me.
But it wasn't there.
So I simply thought, oh, it must be feedback in my hearing aids
because my dogs didn't react to the sound at all.
And this is going to come into play later as well.
So I think, okay, this must be just some feedback in my hearing aids.
And I keep on walking and I get to the creek.
And normally, even at night, I would just,
strip down to my underwear, jump in the creek, have a cold plunge, get back out, get dressed,
and then carry on back to the car. And this night, I got to the creek and I was like,
there is no way I'm getting in the creek. And I can't explain why. It was something I normally
do. And I decided absolutely not. So I turn around and I start walking back. And Jeremiah
I kid you not at the exact same place on the trail where I heard that chattering in my hearing aids.
I hear a sound and this is going to be funny, but it sounded kind of like a,
like Tim Allen from Home Improvement.
So everyone I've told the story to is like, oh, Tim Allen from Home Improvement.
And I didn't get it in the moment or sometime afterwards.
So I hear this, and I got a veritable, like a reaction in my body, like the release of adrenaline.
And I went, what the heck?
And I hear this again.
And then a second later, I hear the snapping of trees and a very large bowl.
boulder hitting another boulder down at the creek, which was, as I said, about 150 meters below me.
Now, just to explain this, when I heard that weird noise, and I also want to say, in this moment,
I was trying to implant that sound into my brain.
I was like, I need to be able to recreate that sound.
And for the life of me, I cannot.
So I know that it didn't sound like Tim Allen on home improvement, but that's,
That's the best that my brain can do with that noise.
So at this point, I'm walking back towards my car.
So the up slope, the upward slope is on my left.
The road is where I'm walking.
And then on my right, it goes steeply down at a very high angle to the creek below.
Now, had a, oh, and sorry, right before I heard the boulder snapping the trees,
I heard this clunk, clunk of clearly rock hitting other rock.
And that was from the upward slope.
So if a boulder had just simply dislodged itself due to whatever, there is a sound of a blub,
and there are trees absolutely everywhere.
Like there have been forestry crews that have gone in here.
They've done some fire mitigation work, so they've opened it up significantly.
But having said that, there is.
absolutely no straight path down to the creek where a boulder could roll and not bump into a tree and stop rolling or whatever it would make noise as it rolls on the ground.
This boulder, for lack of a better word, was launched from the uphill side of the road over all of the trees, many of which are extremely tall, like we're talking British Columbia interior,
dug fir trees that are like, I don't know how tall, like 150 feet, like whatever.
Like these are, these are these are big trees.
This thing ostensibly clears a whole bunch of trees and then on its downward angle
right before it hits a boulder or boulders at the creek snaps off something,
trees, whatever, and then instantly smashes onto another boulder.
Now, at that moment, like I said, I've got adrenaline going, and my dogs who I said didn't hear the chattering at the, at when I went by the first time, and they did not seem to react at all to the Tim Allen noise, hear the boulder smacking another boulder.
And like, you know, it's hard to sort of gauge the size of rocks.
but like there was a deep bass kind of sound as as the boulder hit another boulder so it was significant
like it was a significant size i'm not saying the size of a Volkswagen or anything like that but i'm saying
like as a you know six foot two male like if i was to put my arms out like the boulder had to have been
at least you know as big as my arms like nothing that i could pick up and certainly nothing that a human
can throw and it smacked like a like a car wreck down there so like 100 150 meters below me so the dogs react to
that they look at me they look down slope and they're a bunch of run down there and at that moment
I yelled dogs get back here and I thank God for once in their rotten little lives they
plenty well listened to me.
And they came back.
And I was like,
you know, all this is happening in seconds.
And I'm like, did that just happen?
That just happened.
What is going on here?
And I was like, okay, it's time to leave.
We're being told to leave.
But I thought to myself, I'm not running away.
Like we're sharing this bloody place, but I will jog.
So I'm in my keen dad sandals.
and I start jogging and I'm keeping the dogs right close to me.
And we're just jogging out.
And you know that hinky feeling you have when you know you're being watched?
I had that feeling for, I would say, 300 to 500 meters, something like that.
And as I'm running, as I said, it was dusk.
So it was, there was a lot of darkness.
But if I looked up slow, I could see that, like I can see the skyline where it met the mountain up above me.
And I could see the trees.
And I looked up a few times.
And in all honesty, I did not want to see anything.
And I did not see anything.
But I had that feeling as though I was being watched.
And then about, yeah, like three, 500 meters from there,
that feeling completely dissipated.
And a little bit further than that,
I came back into cell service because the area that I was in
was out of mobile service.
And as I'm jogging, I call my girlfriend.
She answers.
And she's like, what are you running, babe?
And I'm like, yep, there's something.
up here and you know the conversation kind of went like what do you mean and I go
there's something big up here something through a Boulder we're getting out of
there and she was you know a little bit worried I'm like everything's fine we're
good now and we ran I don't know like the whole thing like the whole round trip is
about seven and a half kilometers so I had about I'm gonna say two to three
kilometers to run back to get back to the car and by the time i got back to the car the feeling was
you know you know there was a sense of like something had happened but the sense of urgency was was
gone but uh yeah so that was that was what happened a year ago
that is wild that's wild chris um my goodness what
What kind of dogs do you have?
Yeah, they're mixed breed.
One is he's supposed to be bull-bund lab.
The other one is like American bulldog kind of thing.
So they're 65, 75 pounds.
They're not big dogs by any stretch of the imagination.
They're great with bears.
I don't think they do well with bipedal hominids that launch boulders like a trebushae.
Yeah, exactly.
So they are not.
ones that are even afraid of bears is what you're saying not at all no any kind of predator in the bush
they go out like crazy and that was the thing like when the initial chattering happened like it and when
i say chattering like it wasn't like the uh like i know there's that audio recording like the kind
of like the the samurai talk they call it or something like that this your sounds yep yeah the
see ourselves this was and that's the thing is like if I try to recreate it I can't I can just say
there was definitely there was definitely two parties that were making some kind of chatter like
like it wasn't grunting but it was definitely not human language like I can't approximate it
but there were definitely two two critters that were making noise
And because the dogs didn't react at all, I just chalked it up to, you know, feedback or some weird anomaly in my, in the streaming of my hearing aids.
The only thing they reacted to was the boulder smack in the other boulder.
Well, and the tree's breaking, which was very loud.
Yeah, I mean, that would definitely not be hearing aid related.
My goodness.
that's the first time I've ever heard someone describe it like the Tim
Allen sound effect from Home Improvement but I kind of wonder if other people have heard
that and I would really like to hear that if you've also experienced something that
sounds like Tim Allen in a Bigfoot area that would be kind of cool have you do you know
if there's been other people that have experienced things in the same area so
yeah we can unpack that a little bit too so I would say about a year prior to that
maybe like eight months prior to that so like I say this is my dog walk I was walking
up there and in relatively the same area maybe like you know a half a claw or
further into the bush I heard the sound of boulders like like not rocks but
boulders clunking in excuse me clunking into each other oh right it was spring it was like it was the
spring before this so um i heard this like clunk clunk clunk sound and i was super confused because
you know as our human brains try to rationalize what our experiences are i i thought well okay
it's spring run off so you know you know spring runoff in the mountains
is when, you know, these streams turn into these crazy torrents.
And I thought, okay, maybe a tree fell down into the creek,
and it got between like a boulder and another boulder,
and the current is pushing the tree really hard,
and it's like, you know, it's levering the boulders back and forth
and they're clunking.
And I thought that would totally make sense.
except it's happening up the hill from me.
So what in heaven's name is doing that?
And again, dogs didn't really react to it at all.
And so I just carried on.
Like it was like it was something that obviously I stored in my memory,
but I didn't really put down to any kind of, you know,
sort of odd occurrence until I heard it again.
that day prior to the boulder you know smack of trees and and crushing into another boulder after the
the thing last september it it now i'm going to say it took me two full weeks before i was willing to go
back up there like i i just felt like it it kind of kept me away for a little bit so it was it
was like two weeks before i went up there again and i did go up there again in the evening like at
desk, I was like, I'm not going to let this experience, you know, beat me. And we were, we'd
gone to the river and I was like, okay, this is good. We're coming back out and everything's fine.
And then probably about 500 meters before I was getting to my car, this guy walks off of
another trail in front of me. And I'm like, hey, how you doing? He's like, good. How's it going?
It's kind of a weird thing, you know, to see each other in the dark walking, but like,
Right.
We are.
And, you know, we start talking.
And I said, just, you know, out of the blue, I was like, have you ever had anything
weird happen up here?
He goes, you mean like Bigfoot?
And I go, yeah, kind of exactly like that.
He's like, oh, yeah, they're up here, man.
And I was like, okay, yeah, I had this weird thing.
And I relayed him the same story.
He's like, they're up here.
And he didn't go into any specific experience.
It was like, you know, two weirdos on the same path at night.
Like, okay, we'll talk a little bit, but we didn't hang out and chat for too long.
And then probably about I would say a month or two after that, there was a woman that was walking, you know, same area.
And we ended up shooting the breeze a little bit.
And I mentioned the thing.
I was like just so you know there might be something up here and she was like oh yeah I'm well aware of that
So it doesn't seem like it's secret
And the the area like the cutneys
Like the the it's it's named after the cutney Indians and it's it's it's not unusual like there's a forest service road called
six mile lakes road and it it's it's it's not unusual like there's a forest service road called six mile lakes road and it
leads to a lake called Sasquatch Lake.
And there's like in the East Coot.
So we're in the West Coonies in the East Cooties in the area of White Swan and whatnot.
The stories are plentiful about having encounters with these creatures.
Like it seems like it's that kind of an area.
That's extremely interesting how it feels like.
I mean, those are great odds.
Two people you talk to, both are like, yeah, we know.
There's people in that area that know about what's going on,
but maybe it's not just a publicly shared thing out in the open.
But once you ask a person directly, stuff starts coming out.
That is really wild.
So you are not afraid to go back to that area.
You will go back to that area.
You feel that you're okay going back there is what it sounds like.
Yeah, like I go there and I tell you, every time I get into the zone, there's a little bit of a rush.
And I'm always curious, just, you know, if I'm going to hear something or whatever.
But it is a wonderful place to walk the dogs.
And so I continue there.
And, you know, it occurred to me as well, Jeremiah, that if I would.
was supposed to be a grease stain on the road, I would have been.
So clearly it was a message.
I don't purport to understand these things at all.
Like I don't know, but I've had a couple experiences.
So yeah.
Yeah, I think it's a good way to put it because you're right.
At the end of the day, we don't know if we're dealing with.
some undiscovered lost humans or apes or something coming out of a portal.
We don't know.
But what we do know is that you're right.
You went into this area and you made it out alive and you were not taken out.
So yeah, that's that's a thing.
So I would say, yeah, I'd probably go back to wild, wild stuff.
Do you have any thoughts about what it is that might be out there when you think of Bigfoot or Sasquatch?
Oh, dang.
Oh, you're good.
I lost you for a...
This is going to be magic of editing here.
Let's see.
That is so weird.
Your video went out.
I think you're still there, though.
Okay.
I see like it says it's up in your neck of your...
Sometimes on this app when the bandwidth gets wild or not good, it'll like shut down video type deal.
So we can keep going.
You know, when I was a kid, I saw the $6 million man fighting Andre the giant, who they dressed up as Sasquatch.
And he was being controlled by aliens.
And sometimes I wonder if that might actually be the thing.
because when I imagine, and of course, like, you know, I carry pepper spray or, you know, whatever up there,
and I'm like, what is this going to do?
Like, like, okay, let's say that it's, let's say it's a bipedal hominid that is a branch off of homo whatever,
and that it's just some lost sort of very, you know, provincial ape.
Well, A, it's enormous.
They can kill a grizzly bear, so like I'm absolutely nothing to that.
And my own journey through this was like, you know, like I was a kid, saw $6 million, man, that's awesome, grew up, heard the stories, was
like okay well I don't really know what's going on here didn't really think about it one way or the other
and then probably kind of went to a place of like i mean i don't really know if i believe in it or not
and then when i was posted to uh to pemberton british columbia i i had an experience there well
i guess actually a couple of that i can relate to you but you know i i listened to the story
of people who and I have I have never seen an orb I have never experienced lights or
or anything like that but I know that there are people out there who do and it sort of seems
like maybe these creatures live between two worlds or dimensions or something like that in
some cases you know it's weird they smell horribly and it seems like it's a very
corporeal, you know, being of this earth.
And then in other, you know, recountings,
it seems like it's something not of our reality.
So I honestly, I really have no idea, Jeremiah.
I don't.
It's pretty wild.
I'm right there with you.
I mean, when I get to go out, it's just funny right now.
when I get to go out last time
it was April
yeah I experienced
orbs for the first time
down Tennessee and I still know
what to make of it
it's still I think of it every day
I'm like I don't know
I don't know what it was
they were everywhere
and it wasn't lightning bugs
I don't know
I just I just don't know about this whole deal
the deeper you get into it
it's like this guy Henry Franzoni
he said he's like you keep going down this road
and it is
it's a crazy
paraphrase it's crazy road it's just it is wild and he was right he was right man um do you mind
sharing about it sounds like you've also had some things happen over there in um pembertin yeah yeah so
um when i was working in permerton um i was uh secondid which is the militaristic term i guess
for loan uh ostensibly i was put on loan to um a
First Nations tribal police for a while. So that was a, I was doing the same work. I was just
operating in a different office for a while. And one day I was up a mountain road. And this is,
this is the coastal mountains. These are big mountains. I was up a mountain road just looking for
a stolen vehicle. And I couldn't find it. Whatever.
I was coming back down.
There's a guy walking on the side of the road, First Nations.
I pull over.
I'm like, hey, you want to lift down?
He's like middle-aged.
Back then I was in my 30s, mid-30s, I guess, something like that.
He looks at me and he says, front seat or backseat.
And I'm like, oh, front seat, man, let's give you a lift.
So, you know, he's had enough experiences with the cops.
He's like, no, I'm not jumping in the back of your cop car.
So he gets in the front.
We start talking.
awesome guy he's telling me about basically like he's changed his whole family like from
eating crap food to good food they're all losing weight he's walking in the bush more and
more and I'm like this awesome and I said to him like you know I've heard stories about
big foot or Sasquatch around the area I was just curious like because you know it's a
subject I've always been interested in just not knowing one way or the other what it is and uh and he
told me a few things and it was really interesting he said that uh and he called them the old ones
i believe that's what he said i think he called them the old ones and he said when they're unhappy
with what's going on they show the displeasure by doing things like rolling boulders through the
village so like a boulder will literally come rolling down and like not necessarily
destroy stuff or whatever but like he he said that's one of the things that they'll do or you'll hear
them like like running around and screaming and and sort of you know carrying on like that and
i think at the time i took it with a great assault i was just asking him like so what would
make the unhappy and he said that the logging that was going on on one of the mountains was making
but happy and I was like okay well that checks out yeah they're they're taking down some old
growth trees so that's not great yeah and and so that kind of like got me thinking and then
i can't remember how long it would be i see it would be about 2000
four 2003-2004 something like that i got to
to work and at this point I was not being loaned to the tribal police I was working in my regular
office the regular RCP office I got to work and one of the tribal guys asked if I could come
with him to do some follow up on a call I was like sure so jumped in the card we got the same vehicle
drove out to this place and I'm like so what are we doing so he tells me that he had a
Sasquatch call the night before and at this point I was like okay what are you
talking about and he said the people called in that a Sasquatch had been running
around their house shrieking four hours and I'm just like
whoa am I in the twilight zone here like what is this so I'm like okay so what happened he says
while I drove to the place drove like into the yard and I parked and I said well okay did you see
something he goes I did well what was it and he said I saw something running on two legs it was in
the yard and when I got there because he had his lights you know he had his uh his lights and
sirens on when I got there it looked at me and it took off and it ran through the yard back
towards the river and there's a fence in the way and I asked him about the fence and he said it
like and it was like you know your standard like like horse cattle fence like what are they like
five foot tall he said the thing just like basically went over it like it was a hurdle in the
olympics like it just ran over top of it but i said well how big was this thing and what we used as a gauge
was there's uh i don't know if you remember those old ford bronco twos do you remember those that
it was the smaller bronco yeah really square block yeah so there was one of those parked in the
driveway and I said like how much taller was it then like was it as tall as that or like how big was it
and what he did was he spread his arms out like to full length so we're going to say that this thing
was probably five feet taller than the Ford Bronco two's roof so that's what he saw
now obviously in in any situation
not that it would be embellishment on purpose, but like, you know, stressful situations,
sometimes memory, you know, it can go a certain way.
But obviously this guy is a trained police officer.
He's used to observation.
He's gone to court.
He's given evidence.
So this is somebody that's not prone to making stuff up.
I'm like, okay, that puts it somewhere between, you know, eight to 10 feet tall.
And I said, was it a bear?
Like, was it a grizzly?
He's like, I know what a grizzly looks like.
I'm like, I know you know what a grizzly looks like.
But like, just tell me, it was a bear.
He's like, it wasn't a bear.
And I was just sitting there.
I remember just like, my whole universe just got a little bit bigger.
Like, what the heck?
So I said, okay, so what did you do next?
And so he said, well, it took off.
So he went to the house.
he's knocking on the door and there's no answer at the door there's no answer at the door he has
dispatch called up dispatch calls them so what picks up the phone they're like oh okay we can go to the
door now i i can't remember who opened the door if he told me who opened the door but anyways
basically it was like an extended family that was inside there they were all huddled in the living
room like basically like like in a buffalo stance like they're all like the grandparents the parents
and the kids were all like in a circle in the middle of the living room.
And apparently this thing had been running around the house screeching every night for like a few nights.
And they finally decided to call because, you know, I mean, it's not a thing you do.
You call the cops because like you've got a Sasquatch running around your house.
Like, I don't know.
It's never happened to me.
But yeah.
So he shows up.
all scared, very, very scared. And, you know, he spoke to them about it and then he told them
that he'd come back the next night. So that's he and I both there. We go. And yeah, I just
spoke to the people, like got the same story. And I would say like, not to generalize,
but these people were fairly tacit.
Like they're not prone.
Like listen to me, I can talk and talk and talk.
They're not talkers.
Like they say what needs to be said.
They're conservative with their words.
But they told me the exact same thing
that this thing was running around the house,
shrieking.
And it wasn't until my friend showed up in the police car
that it took off.
And it hadn't come back.
after he left.
So it was clear.
And that was kind of the moment when I was like,
so maybe these things are real.
This is like up to that point,
it was kind of like an esoteric concept.
Like, oh, these people have these experiences,
whatever, blah, blah, blah.
And in this moment, I was like,
something happened here.
And again, you know,
but I don't know what it is.
Like, it's incredible.
It's absolutely fascinating.
So what I would be curious about, and I'm just trying to think of myself in your situation right there.
So are you, when you're having to interview all the individuals there, are you taking them into like another room or are they being interviewed in like a big group and it's like, okay, tell me what happened or how did that go down?
Yeah.
So because there's no criminal act or anything that's happening.
there's no crime this is basically just being reported as an incident and obviously the
some the suspect or the subject of the complaint clearly is not a human um it was just a matter of like
grabbing dad just taking him over and saying okay so what happened what did you see like you know
he says it so there's no need like it's not
It's not like, you know, something happened where everyone goes back to the detachment, you know, take them into an interview room, take a long interview or anything like that.
We were just so busy.
Like our call volume was so busy that A, there's no need and B, there's no time.
Like you're busy working on crimes all the time with a very small, with a small workforce.
So.
Oh, sure.
Absolutely.
But, yeah.
It was like it was it was wild.
So how would going off what you remember, what was the emotional state of those, the individuals that you interviewed about what was going on?
Scared.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Absolutely like scared.
Okay.
Man, that's wild.
I can't imagine that.
So then next question would be, was there any, did you have to file a report?
about what happened.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I just wrote up an assist file.
And basically, like, I just wrote up exactly what was explained to me by the tribal
member, wrote up, wrote what my actions were, talked to these people, whatever.
And it just goes into a file.
And like, we spoke before, you know, recording, there's no redact.
There's no nobody talked to me about it.
There's like, oh, you didn't see that or anything like that.
It just goes into a file and it sits there.
That's it.
Right, which I mean, there's two options there is, I mean, one would be they're not reading the files.
And from what I know about the RCMP, they absolutely are on their game and they're reading the files.
It's just, it's crazy.
No redactions and no one, no one.
followed up with you like hey he's back on the
Sasquatch stuff or man that's that's some wild
wild things right there it's almost as though
if you don't make a big deal out of it it's not a big deal
right
would that kind of stuff come up every once in a while
in the in the RCMP
I don't know if you call them like stations or
yeah well it's you know
it's funny because it's such a hard thing to describe like I mean I think oftentimes
anything that's anomalous is more than likely just treated as entertainment like I
worked with a guy who and no word of a lie got into a high-speed pursuit with a UFO
near Sylvan Lake Alberta and when the members were trying to figure out where he was he said you have to look in the field he was ripping through a field in a police car chasing a UFO no way
and so like like like like it's just it's treated as something funny like like like
There's no men in black.
There's no nothing.
Anybody who had a scanner would have heard it.
Like,
and it's just,
it's not really treated like it's a big deal at all.
No one's never come to me for anything that I've written in a file.
And I mean,
honestly,
I don't think I've really written much up in files that would be like,
well,
I guess we did have one really odd sort of paranormal case
when I was posted in northern Alberta.
But again, like you just write it up, you submit it.
And it just goes into storage.
Like nobody's doing anything with it.
It just doesn't seem to matter.
That's why.
So it was like some kind of like haunted house or just a really weird occurrence type deal.
Yeah.
Like, I mean, this has nothing to do with like what most of your subject matter is about.
But I can tell you the story if you want.
I'd have to pull it out of my brain.
But when I was working.
It was a northern community in Alberta and we got a 911 hangup.
And 911 hangups are of the highest priority because you always imagine, you know,
someone's being killed or something horrible happening to them and they dial 911,
but the phone gets hung up.
So this 911 hang up comes in and our dispatch gives us the address.
and the town I was in was broken into northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast.
We're given the address.
We go to where the address is.
That physical address doesn't exist.
So we have dispatch called back to the phone number, and there's no answer.
So we're trying to figure out what's going on here.
We're not hearing any sounds.
And you know, if bloody murder is being committed and there's like a horrible thing going on, you know, neighbors might hear it.
There's no follow-up phone calls, nothing like that.
So eventually we kind of narrow it down to it's a house that is a subsidized housing house.
And it's the only one that makes logical sense because we know that the people on either side,
there's nothing going on there it has to be this house and so we decide you know we're
going to go knock on the door because you have to and the first thing that I noticed
so I I had my recruit and another young guy well we were all young really young
guy at the front door and myself and the guy that was my he had been
in my trainer, we were walking to the back door.
And in this town, nobody ever used their front doors.
And a lot of houses were those buy levels.
So the guys at the front door had to walk up a set of concrete steps to a short landing.
And then there's a door.
So we were walking to the very back.
And we walked by a basement window.
You know those small basement windows.
They're not like a full-size window, kind of a half-size window.
So there's broken glass, but there's a bunch of broken glass on the outside of the window.
And we're like, oh, okay, we're at the right place.
So we go around back of the house and we're knocking on the door and no one is answering, of course.
And I'm like, okay, I'll kick the door in.
And Jeremiah, I'm like, I played defensive line for my university football team.
like a big guy, I kicked the door.
The door doesn't move.
When I say the door doesn't move, the door didn't flex.
Like, this is a cheap subsidized housing door with a cheap lock and no deadbolt.
I kicked that, I've kicked a lot of doors.
I've kicked doors completely off of, like I've taken the whole frame off the wall.
I kick this door hard right in the spot where you need to kick it.
normally what happens if it's reinforced you'll see some flexing in between the door and the jam
nothing moved and i kicked it again and i kicked it again and nothing's moving and i look at
my my friend and i'm like what's going on here he's like i don't know and i radioed to the guys at
the front i'm like hey can you tell i'm kicking the door and they get back to me the whole house is
shaking. I'm like, okay. So I kick it again and nothing happens. So we switch guys. I go to the
front door. So I go up the concrete stairs to this little landing and I kick that door. And the
same thing. It doesn't move like at all. Like nothing, not a little sliver or anything. And I'm like,
okay, this is crazy. So I turn around and I donkey kick it, which is what you're actually supposed to
do apparently it like saves you injury so I don't kick it and it doesn't move and now we're like
wondering what going on and we the whole time we've got dispatch excuse me calling the number no answer
nothing like that so we're like okay what are we going to do here so I leave we've got like a recruit
my recruit and the one guy at the front door myself or my trainer are just at the corner of the house
So we all have, you know, a view of the whole house on the sides in case somebody bolts or anything like that.
We're trying to come up with a plan.
And I'm like, well, maybe one of us has to go through the basement window.
So I told you the glass was broken.
It was broken on the outside.
And there was still tons of jagged glass around the frame.
No blood, nothing like that.
So I'm like, okay, if someone's going to go through that basement window, we're going to have to have.
to use a baton, clear that glass. The guy's going to have to go in backwards because he can't
fall down, like, however many feet to the floor. And then if somebody can get a gun up and a flashlight
in beside them to maybe see what's going on, and then as we're coming up with this plan,
we get radioed that someone's come to the front door. And I was like, okay, we'll tell them to
go to the back door and let us in so we go to the back door and it opens up and there's a scared
like i don't know 12 year old kid and they scurry away from the door up so again it's a bi-level
so you get into the house and you either go downstairs or upstairs so the kid goes upstairs
But Jeremiah, I look at it.
It is a flimsy piece of crap, like the cheapest door, exterior door that you can get with no deadlock.
And just one of those cheap, you know, doorknobs on it, there's absolutely no reinforcing nothing whatsoever on this door.
Like that thing should have, like, it should have just matched it when I kicked it.
and there was no flexion, nothing whatsoever at all.
So we go in, and again, it was kind of like that situation with the Sasquatch.
It was an extended family, grandparents, parents, and the kids in like a circle, in the living room,
and they are all very, very scared.
I walk past them, I go to the front door, I look at it, it's exactly the same.
There's no deadbolt, cheap little doorknob that you can lock, but the door is like,
nothing special at all.
Like there's no reason this door shouldn't have flown in on itself.
I don't understand what's going on.
We speak to the people.
They tell us that nothing's going on.
We tell them we got a 911 hang up.
And they are scared of something.
We do not know what it is.
Nobody crawled out that bottom basement window.
If you crawled out that basement window,
you would have broken all the glass along the frame.
So something broke out, shattered some glass,
but it wasn't like a body or anything that got out.
So we searched the whole house.
These people had just moved from like about a three-hour drive,
a reserve up north,
and they got this subsidized housing.
They just got in here.
It was their first night in there.
There's no furniture.
There's nothing in there.
So we search the whole place.
All there is is like a washing machine and a dryer because it comes with that,
but there's no furniture.
We look in every closet.
We look in the washing machine.
We look in the dryer.
There's no one in here.
Like we're just all confused, but like no one's hurt.
No one's injured.
We don't really know what's going on.
But for some reason, we could not get into that house.
And I realized about, you know, 15 minutes in.
into it, this is like back in like 1998.
There's no cell phones.
There's like, like people don't have cell phones like at all.
And I realized there's not even a phone in this house.
The phone hadn't been hooked up yet.
So we got a 911 hang up call to an address.
We couldn't figure out what it was.
it didn't exist.
The people in this house had something truly weird going on.
And the only way that I can say this is that house didn't want us in there because I could
kick that door in.
None of us could kick that door in.
Like it, like, like, even a reinforced door, like if you've got like, you know, like a stick
behind it that goes into the ground or like a metal rod or whatever that goes into the
ground you kick on that door it's going to flex it's going to move it was like and i know i sound like a
crazy person when i say this but like that's my experience it was like this house didn't want us in there
it was so trippy and this was in a town like again we we talked to the people they didn't say
anything was wrong they're clearly scared there's but nothing has happened so we don't need to be there
anymore and so we get names dates of birth all that kind of stuff we obviously know the address and we're
like okay well if you need us call us but they don't even have a phone so we leave like there's
nothing to be done and this was a very very busy town so we just went from call to call to call
and yeah that was just one weird night
that's one of the weirdest things I've heard
my goodness no phone how did it happen
I don't know man
I don't know I don't know I really don't know
I had a follow-up question about RCMP
yes
so in America we have ways of
requesting for
documentation
from police stations
or, you know, FOIA.
Yeah, yeah.
Are there equivalents of those
up where you guys are?
Yeah, totally.
I think we call it FOIP, Freedom of Information
and Privacy.
Uh-huh.
That's cool.
Yeah.
Good to know.
As long as,
and the thing is,
is I don't know how long files are kept
because everything I'm describing to you was all paper files because I'm so old.
And so files are only kept for so long and then they're shredded.
I don't know if they would all have been digitized or anything like that.
It's hard to say.
When we went from, there's two systems in place,
where we went from the old system to the new system,
the old system you had a total of 229 digital characters to summarize an entire file.
so whatever 229 is divided by five which is the average length of a word that's all you had so that's
probably all that remains for most of these things anything that would have come like much much later than
that would be on like the full digital system that like all police you know all all police services
in north america use something similar and those those are easily kept forever i would assume i don't know
But yeah, most of the stuff I worked on would have been like probably shredded years ago.
But yeah, pretty well.
I had one other experience that is, and this was more related to like Bigfoot Sasquatch.
This would be, I guess, around 2020, something like that.
I think it was right around in COVID.
I had driven up one of the Forest Service roads near Nelson and I was just going I just love driving up to altitude.
It's just fun.
So I had my dogs and I had my compound bow with me.
And it's not hunting season or anything like that, but I brought my compound bow.
And I got up to the point where this was spring.
It was early spring.
and I started hitting snow.
And yeah, this is kind of weird.
But as I'm driving up this service road,
and I did the snow,
I realize that I don't want to push it too far.
If I get stuck, there is no cell service.
I'm a very long way up,
like probably about, I don't know, 15 miles up this road.
And I just don't want to push it.
So I'll just turn around and drive back down.
It was a lovely drive.
But as I was just, you know, sort of making that decision,
the road went straight up above me and it, it obviously flattened out a little bit
and then dipped a bit and then it kept going.
So there's kind of like a false horizon on the road.
And I saw, I'm going to say.
I saw a brown lump quickly go across that false horizon.
And in that moment, I thought, was that an owl?
I don't know what that is.
That's really weird.
So I thought, well, I'll jump out and go see.
So I was driving an FJ cruiser.
I stopped.
I let my dogs out.
I grabbed my compound bow.
And I had this very funny thought of, you're bringing a sharpened stick to whatever that was.
Good job, buddy.
So I'm walking up the road in the snow.
And it's it's springtime, so it hasn't snowed a lot.
And the snow is relatively firm.
So I'm not sinking in it too much, but the car was sinking in it.
it more, which is why I didn't want to push it. I didn't want to keep going up. So I get up to where
that false horizon was, where the road like flattens out and dips a little bit. And I see
the remains of a deer. And it's quite strange. There's bits of deer hair like floating around.
a little bit it's not a windy day just like but there's like this like fluff like
you know the the fluffier white rather than the brown and gray just kind of
floating around and it's laying on the snow the head has been like like a
separated with about this much, like let's see, a foot and a half, two foot of the spine.
And it's laying separate from the rest of the carcass.
And there's really no meat left at all.
And there's no blood on the snow at all.
So I'm looking at it and it's a strange situation and my brain's just trying to take it all in.
And I never, I didn't go to like Sasquatch or Bigflare or anything like that.
I just was like, what am I looking at here?
And I kind of poking around and I'm like, okay, the meat's all gone.
Some of the fur is here.
The bones are here.
the spine and the head are separate,
and it's a mule deer,
and it's a forepoint,
and it's got a really nice rack.
And I thought to myself,
oh, I should take that home.
And as I bent over to grab it,
there was a voice in my head
that said, do not touch that,
it's not yours.
Oh, no.
Okay.
I'm going to leave that alone.
And, like, it wasn't like, you know,
some alien voice or saying,
like, don't touch that.
It was just like, Chris, don't touch that.
It's not yours.
So I'm like, okay.
And I'm looking at it.
I'm like, how does the head and the spine get separated from the rest of it?
That's very strange.
It looks like a very recent kill.
How can there be no blood whatsoever in the snow?
No matter what killed this thing,
there would be blood everywhere.
There's no blood at all.
And I thought, okay, cougar, cougar kill.
Well, I've never heard of a cougar separating the, like, head and neck from the body.
They just eat it.
And I thought, but that's also weird because this is kind of an open area.
Cougars generally like secret, like secret their,
their kills to a more private area like they're private kind of kind of animal the way that they do it
and i'm looking at the snow around this thing and the snow is all patted down very flat but there's no
claw marks at all and bears have claws that's what made me think cougar like if a cougar was
there like you know their claws are retractable but like exsinguination
would occur if a cougar bit a deer right like you're gonna get blood everywhere so
where's all the blood and then I'm looking at I'm like well if a bear did it there would
most definitely be claw marks and like it wouldn't look so neat and tidy like this
was all neat and tidy and not a single claw mark like nothing dug up like the
the bodies like only a couple feet away
from the spine to the head like none of this made sense to me and it wasn't until and I
can't draw like any like I can't draw for a conclusion or anything like that but I I was listening
to uh uh dr. Jeff Meldrum talking about like how he believes that Sasquatch um how they're how
they walk like the way that they're their their feet articulate and I thought to my
myself, if you had a big, wide, flat foot and you were eating off of this deer, it would certainly
pack down the snow like it's packed down. I still don't understand the lack of blood.
Like, Jeremiah, that doesn't make any sense to me at all. I have no idea. And the only thing,
And it was in that retrospect that I was like, when I saw that brown thing go across the false horizon, like, the reason that I thought owl was is I thought, like, if for the instant that I saw it, if an owl was in flight and it's had its wings down, it would look, like I thought maybe it would look kind of like, like a big lump and then a smaller lump.
And I'm like, but that doesn't really actually make any sense because what I saw kind of look like like a smaller lump that went into a bigger lump.
And I can make all kinds of leaps.
Like if a Sasquatch was running sideways, there is its head.
And then there's like its shoulders and body.
You see it in profile.
And that's what it would look like.
But like, honestly, I've never been able to figure that one out.
But just given some of the weird experiences that I've had, I was like.
this one doesn't make any sense
like the complete and utter
lack of blood the fact that
everything's been eaten but it's super neat and tidy
the head and spine have been separated
from the rest of the body
and whatever was in me that was like
do not touch that rack it's not yours you don't get to hell
that was
it's just it's just kind of weird
I don't know what to chalk that one up to
it's in the unknown file for me
but like none of it made any bloody sense
at all
exactly i mean especially
i keep going back to the fact where there's no blood there
and that just does not make sense logically to me there should be
uh i don't know man it makes me think of like how
there's the
i was not saying it was like a cow mutilation but there are other instances
where you find deceased animals uh with no no blood around them
And I don't know.
That's weird, man.
I just, I really, I don't know logically what that, that could have been.
And yeah, that would, that would stick with me for quite a while.
And obviously it stuck with you for almost seven years.
Yeah.
It certainly has.
Hmm.
Weird, weird.
Is that area known for any other weird stuff happening or?
Well, the whole area is.
like the whole area just has a weird vibe to it and I never like I never thought this stuff
would happen to me but like everything that I've talked about is in like like relative proximity
to one another like okay it's in the bush it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's a way in the
bush but it's all in the same neck of the woods that makes sense you got it so when yeah and
that is really the case when you have
one side of, let's say,
Bigfoot stuff
going on. You could easily have other weird stuff
going on to, and we don't even
know all the weird stuff that Bigfoot can do.
I'm pretty sure that's the case,
at least. Who knows?
Maybe we'll figure it out someday, but
my goodness.
I don't think we will.
I really hope we do. I hope we do, man.
I'm ready to...
What do you think? I'm ready to see one.
So what do you think?
Like do you like do you like do you have a like when when you know when people are asked on various podcasts and stuff what do you think Bigfoot is?
And I'm I'm I'm I'm dumbfounded.
I don't know.
I have no idea.
I'm curious what what your.
Yeah.
So I have heard.
So you know I've heard I've on this show, you know, we hear all sides and we do not discriminate against.
Nate against either side.
How I look at it is I go off of what I have experienced personally.
And I'm at the point where you do not have enough data.
I can say this to you.
So I know there's some physical stuff going on out there because,
one, I've found tracks out in Oregon.
I've not had a visual, but I've seen 16 to 17 inch tracks that were left by one that jumped and ran by a person.
The person had a visual of it, and then I got there late the same day in Oakridge.
That's a different deal.
It's 24.
So there's some physical going on, but then there's weird sides to it, too, in the same area in 25.
I ventured out in the woods a bit by myself, and I was like, hey, if there's anything here, can you make a noise?
And then a few seconds later, I had a response of two wood knocks about 15, 20 feet in the woods away from where I was.
And so I tried to do it.
I did it again, said the same thing out loud, got the same response.
and so there is something there that can understand things and do weird stuff right and that's not
even like talking about portal stuff that's just like hey i'm saying a request can you do it and
it does it and i don't know how to like wrap my mind around that so um i think if i had to guess
man without the data i think we're looking at some kind of physical creature that can do a lot of
weird stuff that science doesn't comprehend yet mainstream-wise, if you know what I mean.
But I hope to be able to go further down that road and to figure that out more for myself
as I, once I get back out there, you know what I mean?
So, yeah, that's kind of where I'm at.
Yeah, man.
Yeah.
I truly want you to be getting back out there, brother.
Oh, yeah.
I'm already making, I'm not even through treatment.
I'm already making plans for next year.
So it's going to happen.
The odds are good.
We're going to do it.
So good stuff, good stuff.
But yeah, absolutely.
But Chris, thank you so much, man, for coming forward, for sending me an email,
reaching out and sharing.
You know, it's very rare to hear things like this that happened during the, you know,
from RCN.
or, you know, law enforcement, those are very rare interviews.
So we definitely never take those for granted when we're able to talk to someone like yourself
about what your experiences were.
So thank you so much for coming on the show and sharing what your journey has been for a bit.
I greatly appreciate it.
Oh, you are so welcome.
And I thank you for all the work you do for this platform.
I am just truly grateful for you, man.
So thank you so much.
If you've had a Bigfoot encounter of your own, I would love to hear from you.
You can send me an email with your encounter at Bigfoot Society at gmail.com.
I've come out with a free report about the top 10 Bigfoot hotspots.
You can go over to bit.ly forward slash BFS report.
I'm Jeremiah Byron.
Thanks for listening to Bigfoot Society.
and I'll see you in the woods.
