Starting point is 00:00:00 Agents who are Realtors do more than open doors. They have the ethical expertise, market data, and tools to bring you home. So when looking for a home, look for the R, and work with a member of the National Association of Realtors. They're right by you. You're listening to Bigfoot Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible, from backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways. The stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. Hey, James, how's it going? I'm going pretty good. Been watching.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Hey, awesome. Been watching y'all. Well, your shows and a couple more. a lot of it about the land between the lakes where they had the 1992 Massacre Yep, yep And what was it, the dog man
Starting point is 00:01:12 Or they think that'd be And you know, ironically, I remember hearing about that I was 12 years old on New Channel 5 In Nashville Wow, really They didn't talk about it, much, but yeah. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Do you have any, have you experienced any Bigfoot activity yourself? Years ago I did. Like I said, I live northeast, northeast of Nashville on the Kentucky Line. And it was back in the 90s, I lived in an area called Best Pace, not far from Westmoreland, Tennessee. And I owned a little house out there off Highway 52. It was on about 15 acres of like healed inside. There was nothing out there from woods. I kept hearing and I actually never seen it,
Starting point is 00:02:19 but you can actually, at night, it would come around a bunch of dogs to get all upset. And I go out there and try to see it. And it would take off running. and you could actually feel it thumping in the ground with your feet. And sometime past, I believe it's 98. I had moved Westmoreland, but down the road down there, it was called Off the Road's Fork Road.
Starting point is 00:02:49 There was building power lines and stepped out there on some property. And I got from an Ashin the Bowen out there. We went out there one morning, and it was like you didn't hear nothing. I got up in a tree as sun comes up, part of a lot of racket and some tickets. First, I thought maybe it was a couple deer, but it was big, and it had made a really strange noise. I was about 12 foot up in a tree, I guess, 12, 15 foot. and I looked and, hey, it run down the side of the hollow on two legs. It was big.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It was hairy. And I had a bow. And I sat there. Was it extremely, extremely quiet as it run off, went through the other side of the mountain? I went home. My wife looked. I said, I ain't going down there unless I got a gun. I never went back down there.
Starting point is 00:04:00 And I told everybody, and there were several people I talked to in that area that had seen the same thing. How far away from it do you think you were? Oh, God. Probably about 75 to 100 yards. I mean, when. And something like that happens, you're not wanting to sit there. I just couldn't believe what I was saying. At first, I thought, no way it ain't a bear, there's never been a bear up in this area.
Starting point is 00:04:46 But the problem was it stood up on high legs and was running and it had weight to it. So to be honest with you, I don't know if it was that dog man or bigfoot. To me, it was a big foot. Did you get a good look at its face at all? No. Because the sun was coming up. All I seen was bit hair. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And, of course, she kind of shocked. Let me see, I was like 28 years old back then. I was like, oh, no. Nobody going to believe me when I tell them is. And, of course, I went to work. I worked in Nashville, and I told them. They said, yeah, right. But then another guy had heard some rumors about it too up there.
Starting point is 00:05:40 and here lately on the YouTube I've been there was a gentleman and ladies that was interviewing a guy it's not the one that up at land between the lakes some guy I wish I remembered his name he was on there and talked about
Starting point is 00:06:03 moving to Westmoreland he was out of Kentucky and down in that range around the Westmoreland area, he had encountered one or somebody he knew had encountered one. And he was going down there and investigate. But it was on one of those land between the lakes interviews. It wasn't that Martin guy.
Starting point is 00:06:37 It was another guy. Okay. Gotcha. Yeah. I know Martin pretty well. Yeah. We've talked a few times. So it was another guy.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I'd like to go up. I had no idea, of course, I was a kid that I had went on up there. And one night I was sitting here looking and I, of course, to tick talk and went to the YouTube. I said, no way. And I got to thinking back, and I remember that. And I said, well, okay, I ain't crazy. There's other people who've seen it too, but it's up in this area. Now, I haven't heard of much about it anymore around the area.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Of course, I move more east towards Macon County. But I haven't heard nothing like that in this area. Okay, gotcha. Well, I appreciate you sharing what you experienced when you were up in the tree stand that day. a long time ago but it looks like now it's becoming more common people are coming out talking about it I would say so definitely
Starting point is 00:07:53 there's man there's people reaching out every day well man I appreciate you being up here I got a few people to hang to check in with as well but thank you so much for spending some time up here man thank you sir bye bye hey Chris how's it going hey can you hear me
Starting point is 00:08:13 Yeah, you sound great. How are you doing, man? Good, I'm doing real good. Back when I was about, back about 1989, well, first off, I live in northeast Florida, northeast central Florida, and I got in some trouble as a kid having some beer on me, and I got arrested and I got some community service to, how to do community hours to a local state park. well I reported for my hours went over there and met with the park ranger and I got to riding around with him pretty regularly and he always had this camcorder with him and I could never figure out like I guess
Starting point is 00:08:58 he's you know videoing the nature he's taking nature walks and he was the state park ranger at the time and I later found out I and and he has a daughter that I kind of grew up with and I worked with and I used to see this to her I said hey your dad Danny used to have that camcorder she said yeah he was always trying to catch the the the big foot that was so the skunk ape that was out here and I was like really wow wow well after that I got the hunting over the years and we kind of I frequent the same set of woods that this state park borders and over the years I would going through the woods and everything I'm deer hunter bow hunt and everything I came out to the in this one section of the woods and I found this
Starting point is 00:09:57 palmetto or a palm tree or or palms is what they are that was pulled out of of the ground and peeled like a banana and whatever it was ate the heart of the of the plant out like the heart of palm and uh it also and there was a sinew everywhere there's pieces of this tore up uh pomeadow bush all over the place looked like a bomb went off and i'm thinking it was a bear but whatever this thing was uh made a bed with the sinew and twisted it and made a little uh mattress with the twisted fibers of this palm tree and I couldn't think no I didn't put two and two together and then a couple years later I had I had shot in a deer in the same area a dough and I watched it lay down and about 80 yards from me and I continued to hunt that evening
Starting point is 00:10:59 it was early in the hunt and I went to retrieve my deer and there's no deer now I I watched it lay down and all that. And I blood everywhere where it lay down. And I kind of followed the blood trail leading off into some deeper, thicker stuff. And I found a print. It was as whatever picked this dough up was not leaving a print. It was stepping on all the vegetation,
Starting point is 00:11:31 not in the muddy areas or the soil areas. It was intentionally stepping spots where it wouldn't leave a print but it did leave a print as it crossed a small stream I followed specks of blood and everything to the stream and there was about a 14 inch print or size 14 I should say it was a lot bigger than my size 12 boot and I could see it in the sand in the center of the stream and so I started thinking you know it started really buggering me up like this you know there has to be a skunk ape and I put the stuff that I had in the past with the park ranger and and what I've been told about the reports in this area and so I continue to hunt
Starting point is 00:12:20 out there over the last couple years and each year there'd be a something strange happened I brought in a bunch of oranges a bag of oranges out there to kind of not bake this thing up or just give it oranges to maybe that peace offering. So I was kind of scared to go in this area. Reluctant to get to hunt there because I was afraid what was in there. Well, whatever it was, took the oranges and left no scraps, took the bag and everything. I never seen anything following that year, but the year, the next following year, I found an orange.
Starting point is 00:12:55 There is wild oranges throughout the woods in this area. I found a wild, ripened orange on the seat of my tree stand a year later. Wow. Yes. And then, and so I continue to, you know, and I always got a funny feeling in this area that I was going. I don't really go there too much anymore because the hair stands up on my back of my neck. So, well, and one of the times after that I was hunting in there and I heard this. it sounded like a panther, a large, like a tiger growling.
Starting point is 00:13:34 Like you hear in the movies and everything. And I'm thinking myself, why is this panther making that noise like that? You know, it's kind of in the area, but I couldn't see what it was. And right at dark, I seen something tall. It looked like a shadow. It was all black. And it was kind of hunched over, almost bent in half, but it was walking on too late.
Starting point is 00:13:58 was bipedal and it was walking through the woods as I was getting out of my trees. It moved and was heading off deeper into the woods. Now, was it making, and it came from that area where I heard that panther or that, or that lion sound or whatever it was, it was making. And I'm pretty positive. It was that skunk ape in there making those sounds because I don't think a panther, we do have panthers around here, but I don't think it'd be hanging out with a skunk ape or anything.
Starting point is 00:14:26 but I'm thinking maybe that skunk ape was, you know, making noises to mimic a panther, maybe to scare me away. Could be. Yeah. And so I continued over the years, and I did see that bent over. I think he was bent over and half to kind of conceal himself. And just as I was leaving one evening, and it was probably about 100 yards off, and I could barely see him.
Starting point is 00:14:52 The only way I really could see him is I heard him, and then I looked through the scope of my crossbow and I could see it moving through the woods real fast and it looked real shaggy and uh um and other than that I really have and after that I killed a wild pig and I put it out as bait and I put a trail camera on top of it he didn't mess with it. Uh, he liked my oranges. He didn't like the, uh, the wild pig I left for him. He didn't mess with it. I guess because he maybe knew there was a camera there. But um, and then if I, and then, and then, um, and then, A couple times, the years after that, something followed me out. One time I shot a deer and I was dragging it out and I could hear it.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Something was following me out about two, three hundred yards of this drag, this horrible drag that I had all by myself dragging this nine point through the woods, about killed myself, but I could hear about 75 yards off that something was walking in the woods, following my every the same path that I took all way out to the the hard road that where my truck was I don't feel as though this thing
Starting point is 00:16:00 was threatening me I think it was just trying to scare me but the the orange thing kind of tripped me out and then I found a snake one time tied in a knot or tied in one it was a Florida king snake that something had tied it in a knot and hung it in a
Starting point is 00:16:17 tree in the trail that I was coming by so I don't know I never really felt this thing would hurt me but I think it was just warning me off and kind of keeping me out of that area but over the years all these clues that the park ranger one and you know talking to the park ranger's daughter she told me that when there were kids that this thing would stand on the edge of the woods there's a playground at the uh the the park and that this thing would watch them watch the girls play on the on the playground and that's what initiated her dad to get this video camera back in the day to try to record this thing
Starting point is 00:16:55 and catch it. They never could, but other than that, I haven't seen any signs of it in the last four or five years, but there are reports now and again in this area where I live. I kind of live in between St. Augustine, Florida, and Daytona. But I keep my ears open for it, But there's a section of woods that follow St. John's River and some waterways in here. And my opinion, I think they travel along the waterways. And this follows right along a waterway where I've been hunting and messing around for years. So I'd love to get a picture of it. I've had trail cameras in there.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Wouldn't that be cool, yeah? I'd never got a picture on it with trail camera. But the orange thing, the missing deer, the snake tied in a. and not. You know, nothing else is going to do that. Nothing, nothing's going to put an orange on the seat of my tree stand a year after leaving a bag of them out there. Maybe that bag of oranges kind of sues things over and he knew it was me and, you know, I brought it to him as a gift, I guess. But that's pretty much my story. Man, thank you. Thank you for sharing that.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Yeah. Sorry, a real... Can you? Yes. Go ahead. Can you share any location or date info? Yes, it's Flagler County. And this was Flagler County. Like I said, it's in between Daytona and St. Augustine, Florida on the east coast, northeast central Florida. And the particular state park that I'm talking about is Buelo State Park. And the park ranger that was there for years, I won't mention his name, but he was on site.
Starting point is 00:18:46 lived in a trailer there with his girls and his family for years and his daughters. I would love to sit down with them and write down something, but I've talked to her many times, and she talks like it's no big deal. Like this is something that they've seen all the time. So maybe one day I'll get to do that, and I'll give you a shout back and see what she says. But she says it was a pretty regular thing in the evenings for that thing to watch the kids on the playground. That's wild.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Is this, I just want to, okay, Bulo Creek State Park. Yes, that's it. That's it. Okay, got it. It's a large section of woods through there, large, that follows freshwater waterways and stuff. So like I said, I believe they've been, they travel between those along the waterways and they've been doing it for a long time. That's fantastic. Thank you so much for giving that information, what you experienced.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I appreciate you coming out, Chris. Thank you. Yeah, man. I'm a big fan of yours. Thank you for listening. Have a good one. Hey, Sarah, how are you? I'm good.
Starting point is 00:19:51 How are you? Can you hear me? Yes, I can hear you. Thank you for coming up. Yeah, it's not necessarily me. But they've been, two of them are from my father and one's from my grandpa. Just a premises. I live in Northeast Oregon, so up here in the Pacific Northwest.
Starting point is 00:20:13 This, I'll talk about the first one. My family's ranch, we run cows, and so they're a big indicator of stuff that's going on. But essentially the area would be the Minam State Park Recreation Area is around where our house is at, very close to the Washington and Idaho border. This was probably, I think it happened in 2021 in the spring, and it was late in the afternoon, and my dad told me that he was walking down to my grandma's house, which is probably like 20 yards from our place. And he hears the most guttural scream roar come out from the timber.
Starting point is 00:20:58 We live in the woods, you know, and there's clearing where we have our farm ground and stuff for our cows. But down in the trees, he heard this extremely loud roar. And, you know, he grew up hunting. He grew up in the woods. We all have. And we've heard bears. We've heard what cats or mountain lions sound like, and he said that this was like something he's never heard before.
Starting point is 00:21:22 And at the same time, my mom, all the dogs were out. We have five working dogs, border collies. They all came screaming under the porch, trying to get inside. There was a herd of deer down by one of our stackyards where we have our hay that completely took off out past our house. Everything was running from that location. You know, it's not like anything he's ever heard before. And then when he was walking back up to the house, probably 30 minutes later back to our place, he heard it again.
Starting point is 00:21:56 The same extremely loud, weird, screechy roar. So that was the first instance my dad told me about. And then probably 20 years ago, this would be in the exact same area. that same stretch of timber where dad heard the scream come from, probably there's a clearing that sits just to the west of it, where we have one of our pastures for our cows. My dad was out doing something, building fence or something. And again, it was later in the afternoon, and he saw something walking on its hind legs. And, I mean, he said it looked like a bear, but because it was dark and it was tall and it was black. Shaggy looking, but it walked all the way. He saw it walk from the stretch of timber all the way,
Starting point is 00:22:51 probably 400 yards to another patch of timber, and then go back in. You know, so those are the two times my dad has had something happen, you know, whether he visual or the audio. And both times it, you know, made the hair stand up on the back of his neck. And then The third encounter that has been passed down in our family was something that happened with my grandpa. And this would probably be 15 miles from where my house is at, in the same area, around Palmer Junction, around Oregon. And he had a tree stand. So this was in the fall, probably in the 80s. and my grandpa was up in his tree stand and he smelt something horrendous foul stinky smell and he's grown up in the woods
Starting point is 00:23:51 knows what everything smells like knows what a cat smells like bears etc and it made the hair stand up on the back of his neck too and he just got this internal gut feeling like something was telling him to leave you know and so he took that as a sign he never saw anything but the scent it stayed with him and he felt like somebody was following him out of the woods until he got back to his pickup to leave so those are the three instances we have um i don't know my dad's a pretty literal guy you know he doesn't believe in the crazy or the the weird or he's not a conspiracy theorist but he knows what he heard and he knows what he saw and those two different times, and it wasn't like anything he's ever heard or saw before. Those are great stories. Thank you for Sharon. And I've never actually looked into this area that you're talking about. I mean, I noticed, though, that the river connects.
Starting point is 00:24:54 You could go from Wallowa Whitman National Forest up to where Freeman had his stuff happen. So it's kind of like a midpoint, which is really cool. Yeah. There's, I mean, there's a lot of stories, especially, like, look into Mount Emily, like the Mount Emily, the Yumatilla National Forest. Oh, yeah. My brother's girlfriend, I don't necessarily remember everything she's told me, but they used to go riding snowmobiles up there a lot. And she's had some weird stuff happen, you know, with the smells and the feeling of, like, something's telling them to leave. There's a lot of stories up there about that particular area.
Starting point is 00:25:35 for sure oh my goodness thank you so much for for sharing i don't get a lot about this area of organ it's more over by the cascades but this is awesome thank you so much yeah you're welcome hi how are you can you hear me yes i can hear you how are you doing okay how are you honey hey doing good i was 18 years old and this is in runnelsville pennsylvania and uh this is many years ago it was nineteen eighty four or nineteen eighty five And I was walking on this road. It was called Wayne Road. It's a beautiful, sunshiny day.
Starting point is 00:26:10 It was a Saturday afternoon like 1 o'clock in the afternoon. And at the time, it was just covered in trees. It's not so much today. And I'm walking by myself, and I hear something crunching on my left. And I'm 18. I only weigh like 86 pounds. I was a little tiny thing. And now I'm scared.
Starting point is 00:26:28 And I'm like, okay. So I kept walking. And I would walk and then I would kind of like pick up my pace. It would track my pace. So I have a little tiny boot knife. I pull it out and I'm like gonna, I don't know, stab the thing or whatever, because I didn't know what it was. So now I get, now it's starting to like make all this sounds. Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:46 Dude, no one believed me. Okay. And I don't believe me if you don't believe me either, but I'll swear to God, I'm 58 years old. To this day, it still haunts me. So I take off running down the road. This thing is thrash and smash and then the woods are really thick, so I can't even see what I'm looking at. And then about, I don't even want to say if it's a quarter mile I ran, I'm not even sure. And then there was like a clearing where there was like a like a, like a,
Starting point is 00:27:07 that you know kept people driving up this one dirt road and it took it ran past me and all I could see it had to have been eight foot tall I don't know and it was white and it was like looked like it was dirty and no one ever talks about seeing a white big foot and so I come home and I tell my family and they're all looking at me like what are you nuts I'm like they're not going to believe this so it was like five years ago on ancient aliens one of the shows that they had there mystery.com and they had they were talking about this white bigfoot and they call it sheep squatch and I looked at my husband I go there's that thing I was telling you about so there is white bigfoot now it was probably a year ago talking to my girlfriend and I was telling her the story and she says and she lives on Wayne Road and so did her father at the time and he said she goes what year was that I said I don't know 84 85 she was my dad saw that and I guess by by the garbage cans this thing was trying to dink for her, you know, the father's garbage.
Starting point is 00:28:11 And I'm like, I said, I am so glad that someone else has seen it. And that other people only as of recently are coming out saying that they saw this white bigfoot in the Pennsylvania area. And apparently it travels into New York. And I guess they're the really aggressive type. You know, like they'll stalk you. And dude, I got to tell you, that was one of the most terrifying things to this day I have ever experienced. I don't know. I just had to tell you.
Starting point is 00:28:37 That's wild. No one, you know what I mean? At the time, nobody, you know, what's 30, 40 years ago, ever heard of such a thing? And then, oh, yeah, Bigfoot. And now he's white. So I don't know. Have you ever heard of a white Bigfoot? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Absolutely. I mean, it's not super popular, but, or you don't see a lot of them, but there's actually a really famous one. I want to see, say, in the early 2000s in Carbondale, which is just north of Northeast of Scranton NPA. Yeah, that's not far from... There's actually a video of that one. Not far from there.
Starting point is 00:29:11 We're like two hours from that. Yeah. Oh, yeah, totally. And then Alabama is pretty famous for having a white big foot in the northeast part of the state. It's called Alabama White Thing. So check that out.
Starting point is 00:29:25 That's a fun one. But yeah, not a lot of white bigfoot's reported, definitely. So that's kind of a rare thing that you got to experience. That's pretty cool. Thank you. Well, I appreciate you letting me air that because for years, I've been sitting on a secret thinking, you know, you're nuts. But I'll tell you right now, swear to God, no reason to fib or lie about any of that end.
Starting point is 00:29:46 When I saw it, I mean, I didn't see its face because it was just, it was running, and then it ran up into the woods. And you could tell it was white fur, but it was kind of dirty. And I'm just excited to tell you because it's like nobody wants to hear this. No, I'd love to hear it. So thank you for coming up and for sharing about it. Thank you. Well, thank you very much for having me up.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Enjoy your day. You too. Johnny, how are you? Hey, how are you? Hey, doing good. So it was back in the 80s, Falk, Arkansas. I don't know if you're familiar with Fowl. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yeah. Oh, yeah. So they have this legend over there. they actually made a movie called Legend of the Boggy Creek you ever heard of that yeah oh yeah yeah so i'm from texarkana texarkana is right there beside falk and i was very young back then i was i don't know i was 20 21 or something like that and i decided to you know venture out on my own as a youngster and got a, I rented a mobile home that was right there on Boggy Creek. There's actually a Boggy Creek, you know, I mean, it really exists.
Starting point is 00:31:19 And so I was on Boggy Creek. I was there the first night. They didn't have the electricity turned on. They were supposed to get it turned on the next day. and so I was in the mobile home without electricity that first night on Boggy Creek. I mean, imagine the mobile home being right there where you could step outside of the front door and walk, I don't know, 20 feet and 30 feet and you're going to, there's Boggy Creek. And that first night, I was, I had already, I was already aware. of the legend you know i mean about the monster but that night i went to bed it was cold it was in the
Starting point is 00:32:09 winter and so i was covered up really good and i was cold there was no heat there was no electricity and all of a sudden i hear this loud you know cry i mean it was not a cry it was it was more of a yell you know like a i don't even know how to explain it i mean to me it sounded like you know it would be like a like a bigfoot or a monster a boggy creek monster and the next day i loaded what i had put in to the mobile home and i i moved out i was not going to live down there man and I know I know they say it's a legend and you know it's just this and this and that and they they have different stories about it but the fact that I was there and I actually heard that I actually I mean I really do believe that there's I don't know if there's still something down
Starting point is 00:33:16 there was something there was something in that there was something in that. those woods, man. Oh, I mean, I would say there's definitely still activity down there. What year was that again? That was like in the 80s, like 85, 86, 87, I don't know, 85 maybe 86, 86, maybe 87. Wow. Wow. That is awesome. Oh my goodness. That's awesome. Good stuff, good stuff. How did that affect you afterwards. Well, I mean, I've always kind of been the kind of guy that believes in some of these things. You know, although a lot of people are thinking, ah, it's not true. But the legend of Boggy Creek, if you go back and look at the movie, there are people that were actually affected by it. There are actual testimonies of real people. It was based on a real story. It wasn't some sort
Starting point is 00:34:16 of fictional story. So it was based on real people that had interaction. Like, if you watch the movie, you'll see actually there's a, there's a scene in the movie where somebody, and I'm not trying to get, you know, tacky, but there was somebody sitting on their toilet and something reached through the window of the bathroom and tried to grab them. And if you watch the movie, you'll see that. And that was based on a real event. I mean, that actually happened. It wasn't, it wasn't a human being.
Starting point is 00:34:51 reached through the window. And so there's, there's actual, I think it was Charles B. Pierce that produced that movie. He also produced that movie in Texarkana that you might be familiar with that's called the town that dreaded sundown. And so it's about the phantom, you know, the killer, the phantom killer that was out there back in the, what was it, the 30s, 40s, something like that in Texas Canada. And so that was real stuff. I mean, he based his movies off of actual events.
Starting point is 00:35:30 And so, you know, these things really happened to people. And so it affected me in the sense, to answer your question, that's why I got out of there the next day, because I'm not the kind of guy that thinks this stuff is mythical. I mean, I believe it's real. And absolutely. Maybe people think I'm crazy for thinking that, but I really do believe that there was. I don't know if there is.
Starting point is 00:35:59 Now it's 2026, you know. I don't know how long something like that could live or exist out there. And then there was this story, too, by the way, that kind of ties into that. And I don't know how true this is. I'd have to research it. But years and years and years and years and years ago, before. I was even born in 60. I was born in the 60s. So years and years and years before I was born, apparently there was a train, because we have a lot of railroads going through that area.
Starting point is 00:36:36 There was a train that derailed, and it had some circus animals on it. And so one of them was an ape. now if you know i i don't know that this boggy creek monster is an ape because what i heard didn't sound like an ape you know i've heard apes uh it sounded more like a an anomaly uh but you know they have they have said that too that maybe there's something out there that survived from that train derailment and you know and and maybe that was still out there but this thing actually attacked people and oh yeah yeah it's a it's a wild wild story everyone should watch that movie if they haven't yet i think you can find out on youtube now would you would you compare that to bigfoot would that be the same thing or would that be something i mean in my mind is the
Starting point is 00:37:43 same thing yeah and i think most of the community is going to is going to agree with me that it's just a regional name for Bigfoot. So, yeah. But that's a great story and very cool that you're able to be kind of part of things for a little bit in a way. But thank you for coming up, Johnny, and sharing. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Thank you for having me. Hey, there. How are you? What's going on, man? Hey, not much. So I got a question for you. Class A is when you see one, right? Yes, sir. Class B would be a vocal?
Starting point is 00:38:21 You hear it. Is there a C? I want to say class C is secondhand, but let me look it up real quick, because it's BFRO classification. I should know this, but I'm only like 90%. Okay, so Class A is visual. Class B is observed at a great distance or poor lighting or you hear it. Okay, so nothing too correct. but I wanted to give you locations on this is that okay so this is at a
Starting point is 00:38:54 Pennsylvania and southwest Pennsylvania so there's a as a reservoir in southwest Pennsylvania and there's a I heard a lot of stories coming out of there but a buddy of mine a fish down there for years and One night we were sitting there. He had fallen asleep and I was sitting there by myself when I heard this thing creeping through the woods towards us. By pedally, and it's weird. To hear that, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:39:43 You know, midnight, one in the morning. You know, most woodsmen know when you get a deer walking around or a raccoon or possums. stuff like this makes a different sound. So I'm listening to this thing, walk through the woods, and you can hear it. Step. Step.
Starting point is 00:40:10 And it didn't pay much attention to it because I wasn't into Bigfoot at the time. But as it drew closer, it stepped on a large branch. And when it snapped, I knew that it was, you know, all right, this is something heavy and it's coming towards us. So he's laying there sleeping. So to paint the picture for you, I'm right next to the lake. And there's a fire, maybe six feet for me.
Starting point is 00:40:43 And this thing is up on a ridge, maybe 80 feet from me. So as it keeps coming in, the closer it gets, the more attention than I'm paying to it. So it eventually gets to the point where it's between. I'm at the lake. The fire's in between us, and it's dead ahead of me, and it stops. and it just stands there. I can't see it
Starting point is 00:41:12 because I had one of those real weak this was how long ago was this? It was before they came out with like the real powerful like small flashlights but after that
Starting point is 00:41:30 I became obsessed with flashlights because that had a real cheap like $20 Walmart headlamp that you can only see like maybe 10 yards with the most. But at this point, my heels are in the lake because this thing I know is standing there staring at me and I, I am, you know, I'm not armed or anything. So if this thing comes out, my best option is to turn tail and dive into the lake because there's nothing I can do. But
Starting point is 00:42:02 it stands there staring at me. I can't see it, mind you. Never vocalizes. Maybe 10 seconds it stands and it moves off at the same pace it walked in. What's weird about it is the confidence that it has, it wasn't being trying to be quiet and it wasn't being super loud or aggressive. So I put that out of my mind and I don't fish there anymore. Another time I'm in Warren County, Pennsylvania, a Sugar Grove area. Midday, I think this is in the fall also. And I hear something walking through the woods.
Starting point is 00:42:59 We have a deer came up there and we have a bunch of property. So to describe it a little bit, there's like a house like near the road is kind of where I'm at. And they got like a 80 foot flat area and then it knuckles over down to the valley where the tree line in the woods are. So I'm standing near that knuckle when I hear this thing walking down under the knuckle where I can't see it. And I've only heard this from one other person. I've listened to a lot of different Bigfootball podcasts, but it was making the slapping noise. Like if you were to take your bare hand, not skin on skin, but like if you were wearing like a pair of jeans or something, you were to slap your thigh or something, it did that three or four times while rustling the bushes and walking towards. me now this there's nothing but woods down here and I think this was a couple
Starting point is 00:44:08 minutes after having you know you know firing guns and stuff like there should be nobody down there it's just miles and miles of woods there so I hear walking in it's rustling the brushes and it's making the slapping noise and I know and there's this is the weird thing When these things are around, this weird feeling kind of comes over yet. And I didn't, I knew that it was, it's close to me. It's like pretty 60 feet. But I know that if I walk over that knuckle and look down, I'm going to see this thing standing there and I'm not ready for it.
Starting point is 00:44:53 So this is the second time this has happened. So I'm thinking, you know, Sasquatch at this point, I walk up to my buddy's truck and I grab that. handgun under the underneath the seat and I come back and I finally get the Kehounis to look over that knuckle there's nothing there in that the lake I told you about earlier there's four or five different accounts I've heard of people getting chased out of there and my one of my best friends had heard vocals down there a couple of times and he did an interview with a researcher at one point, but...
Starting point is 00:45:41 What's the lake? It's Beaver Run Reservoir. It's private property. You're not technically allowed to be in there. So it's really good fishing. You've got to kind of sneak in there to... I don't condone doing it, but it's a real hotspot. And I think...
Starting point is 00:46:07 And I want to ask your opinion about this. Okay. They only seem to be there during the fall. So, yeah. I think they move through there to get to somewhere else and they're only there for about a month maybe. Yeah. I don't know where they're going to, where they're coming from, but they're not there all year long. And I think it's the same up north.
Starting point is 00:46:35 They're not there in the wintertime. A lot of people report that October is one of the more active months. for some reason or another, a lot of pretty high activity reports are in October. That's all over the U.S. So kind of interesting. They might be moving through to get to a different area. I mean, you'd have to look at a siting map that would have dates and see if you figure it out. Tell you about this because I assume you do, do you track this stuff out on a map?
Starting point is 00:47:14 Yeah, absolutely. So my podcast website is bigfoot society podcast.com and then I have a siting map on there and I keep track of like everyone I talk to. And it's, I mean, you should see all the ones in Pennsylvania to blow you away. There's tons of, tons of sightings, especially in that area, southwest of course. Well, I would assume that if like skunk apes, I assume they're not moving around as much. You know what I mean? just because of hunting season and the weather. Could be. Could be.
Starting point is 00:47:52 But hey, I appreciate you. I appreciate you coming up and share. I mean, that's a new spot for that. So yeah, we'll definitely put that on there. Thank you. Yes, sir. I know there's a lot of stuff that comes out of Allegheny National Forest.
Starting point is 00:48:08 So that Warren County is only like 45 minutes from there. Awesome. Okay. Very good. Thank you. Yes, sir. All right. Garrett, I am giving you a request to see if you want to come up because Oak Ridge is my most favorite place in the world. Howdy. Hey, Garrett. Garrett, how's it going, man? Good, good.
Starting point is 00:48:30 So we're talking about Wolf over on the way to Odell? Like, no, I mean, kind of. Wolf Mountain, if you go down the 23 road down Hills Creek, Reservoir? Oh, yeah. There's like Bear Mountain, Wolf Mountain, Cougar Mountain. Okay. A string.
Starting point is 00:48:53 I was up towards the top of Wolf Mountain bear hunting. And I seen what I thought was a bear, black. And it was kind of just in between the trees, you know. And then it kind of went behind a tree. And I was by that time, since I had a tag. and it was season. I was like, ready. And it was probably 700 yards away, maybe, down in the bottom of a, like a valley kind of thing. And then I caught a glimpse of it through two trees. And it was crazy, just walking in between two trees like a person.
Starting point is 00:49:43 So was it crazy in that it was walking on two legs or what was it specifically that really made you take notice? Well, I thought originally it was a bear because sometimes they kind of they get injured and they walk around on two legs. And I've never been a big foot believer, but it didn't have a snout. but it had like a defined um like uh i don't know what you'd call it like the eyebrow muscle right eyebrow ridge thing yeah that was defined it had smaller eyes it was black with a gray face and there was minimal hair on the face and i was like that's not a bear what is that Exactly. Oh my goodness. How close were you to this guy? Again, maybe six or seven hundred yards, but I was looking through a high-powered rifle scope.
Starting point is 00:50:54 Okay. Yeah, gotcha, gotcha. Oh, wow. How long do you think you had eyes on it for? Oh, I knew there was, I could, I mean, I could see it for maybe a minute, but when it, when it, it just walked in between two trees. It was like maybe three seconds, five seconds, maybe something like that. Gotcha. So you saw the eyes specifically. Could you notice color or if there were whites to the eyes at all or anything like that? I didn't see any whites of the eyes, but it was definitely a darker brown or a black.
Starting point is 00:51:45 And did you say it was like a black color? to the hair. Yeah, it was like a blackish brown and in the sunlight, it kind of looked a little red. It was like, like rusty almost. Gotcha. And what was the height that you would estimate on that again? Oh, maybe seven, seven and a half feet. Gotcha. So you saw it in between the trees and then did it just keep walking away then it just kept just kept moving and it was one of those things where me and my wife both seen it because she was looking through binoculars and we both kind of just looked at each other and was like we need to get out of here but
Starting point is 00:52:38 okay so this is extremely cool so you've had two people at the same time having eyes on it that's really cool. My goodness. What year was this again? This was 2023. So after you both had this sighting, it keeps walking, then what do you guys do? We both. We both kind of got out of there in a hurry. We kind of slowly backed out of there and back to the truck and went home and just we never talked about it again.
Starting point is 00:53:25 It was one of those crazy things that my goodness. That is some wild, wild stuff. Have you heard of any other well first off, have you been back to that area ever since then? I have. I actually hiked down there
Starting point is 00:53:44 last year looking for any kind of hair or footprints or something like that and I never ended up seeing anything but gotcha have you heard of any other Bigfoot stories from around Oakridge yeah my wife's father my father-in-law he's had a couple sightings around the Hills Creek area but he yeah quite a few yeah he's he's he's yeah he's he's He used to be a big bow hunter, and he's seen, he claims he's seen one closer than 30 yards. Just kind of peek at him from behind the tree.
Starting point is 00:54:31 Oh, my goodness. But, wow. Yeah, I would love to talk to him. I mean, if you could pass on my email, if you don't mind, is Bigfoot Society at gmail.com. I have interviewed about 50 people from Oakridge about their Bigfoot encounters. over the last two years for my podcast. I go there for the festival they have every year for the Bigfoot Festival. That town, I mean, as you know, it's a big history when it comes to Bigfoot.
Starting point is 00:55:07 I might recommend if you've never been there, there's actually, you know where the DQ is in Oak Ridge? Yes, sir. Yeah, so there's a place that's called Area 58. It's pretty much like a Bigfoot museum, but also they take information from people that have had sightings. If you ever get a chance, you might want to talk to them. They are local. They know all these places really good, and they have a lot of information about the area. So I'd recommend it if you get a minute, but up to you.
Starting point is 00:55:39 Okay. Awesome. Thank you so much. Cool. Hey, thanks for coming up, Gary. I appreciate it. Thanks for talking. Of course.
Starting point is 00:55:46 You have a wonderful rest of your day. appreciate you let me tell my story you got it back okay hey Justin how's it going good so the Lehigh County Pennsylvania area yeah it's kind of widespread out there it's nothing it's not like the city so to speak and I go up on the Appalachian trails quite a bit up there and I hike and often the trails there you can camp while you're hiking up on the trails I know what everything sounds like I know what everything goes and you know deer bear all that stuff and I didn't start having encounters until I would say like my second going to the third night on the trail
Starting point is 00:56:30 camping and all of a sudden everything went quiet and I'm like okay you know maybe a storm was coming in something abnormal whatever and then think much about it so the next day I got up to see if anything kind of got ruffled around maybe a bear or something and I noticed the tree branch I'm six foot tall so the tree branch was probably another foot or two higher had been like snapped by like by hand it wasn't by like man or but it was snapped off like saying you know whatever saying I'm here so I I moved up the trail a little bit and then I camped again I go up and down that trail camp I don't go up and down the whole entire
Starting point is 00:57:27 Appalachian Trail but in that area and so the next night I go into the another spot camp out and I don't know if it's the same one different one But it had moved in closer and I had and as I was camp moving up to the next campsite which was probably another couple miles up the trail. I went to get on my phone to take a picture. I noticed something weird way off the trail. I'd say probably about five to ten yards in off the trail. And it was some kind of like man-made structure like you know you see on there how you know Bigfoot's make and stuff. So I wanted to go take pictures of this. You know, so people don't think I'm crazy. And as I got closer, my phone had full percentage on battery and because I don't keep it on during the daytime or anything
Starting point is 00:58:23 so I tried to use my phone sparingly so I moved into this and all of a sudden my phone camera had cut out my phone battery went from 100 down to zero as I went to go take a picture of the structure so later that night I went back went into my tent camping and all of a sudden I I'm starting to hear a tree now So I grab what I can and I start knocking back.
Starting point is 00:58:49 I get three more knocks back and this time it's even closer. This thing had have been probably if I can't see I didn't see it very well. It was very dark out there. It had to been roughly about eight to nine foot high and then height wise and probably pushing about seven to eight hundred pounds. Goodness. I get when I go up in those trails, um, it's not. not as frequent in the winter time or anything, but definitely like early spring all way down to late October, I get nothing but all sorts of activity up on those trails.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Really? Yeah. Oh, wow. You said Appalachian Trail. It runs through that Lehigh County area. And the Appalachian Trail does run up and down a whole eastern border of the states. but I only go up and down and I know that trail
Starting point is 00:59:49 like the back of my hand I know what's in there I know other hikers and stuff but other than that I know exactly my surroundings very well in there and whatever is in there and I didn't believe
Starting point is 01:00:03 that I've heard stories from other people about this so it made me curious and now since then I've what I've been what my hunch is is been a Bigfoot. Like I said, I don't know if it's just one.
Starting point is 01:00:18 I don't know if it's a family. I don't know if it's multiple, you know, different groups of them in there, but, you know, they're in there. There is a book by Dr. Simeon Hine called Dark Batter Monsters, and it's about Bigfoot, but also the connection to things like, why did your phone battery die? and I think it'd be very interesting for you to read if you can get a copy of it. Okay. On Amazon. I was going to say, because I've heard people report in the past, too, that they had the same issues with their phones or electronics just all of a sudden going from zero down to nothing. And, you know, I didn't think much about it then either.
Starting point is 01:01:02 So it's just like, you know, the way the structure was made, you know, it was put very well together by something. Right. Absolutely. Yeah, if you ever see a structure, I would not recommend to just kind of look at it. Don't mess around with it, you know. Yeah, I was trying to say, I was trusting stuff that, you know, for, so I would have physical proof. But when I tried, that's when I lost phone, everything. Absolutely. Justin, have you ever heard from any other hikers that they've had experiences in the same area? Yes. In fact, when I'm going up and down, there's in that same area. other hikers come from like out of the country Canada and Mexico all over the world will hike that trail and they've actually had come across and
Starting point is 01:01:51 they had told me some stories they've actually were up in upstate New York area on the Appalachian Trail up there and they were having encounters with multiple groups they believe of Bigfoot in the upstate New York region area So I'm not sure if they're like sticking to the like travel using that trail as like their, you know, their main area to travel up and down the East Coast. Absolutely. Well, Justin, thank you so much for coming up and sharing about the Lehigh County area of Pennsylvania and what you're experiencing out there. I appreciate it. You're welcome.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Thank you. Have you ever heard all the accounts of Bigfoot activity around Oak Ridge, Oregon? and you think to yourself, man, I would love to get out in those woods and experience it for myself.
