Bigfoot Society - Sasquatch by the Lake | Ontario
Episode Date: December 21, 2025In this episode of Bigfoot Society, we travel to rural Ontario, Canada where a witness describes a terrifying close-range Sasquatch encounter in the dead of winter. While standing alone near a frozen... lake, swamp, and forest edge, the witness realizes he is no longer alone. What followed was complete silence broken by heavy breathing, grunting, and footsteps in deep snow, coming from a massive creature estimated to be 8 to 12 feet tall—less than ten yards away. Unable to see it in the darkness, he could hear it breathe before it suddenly ran through three feet of snow and ice with human-like strides, crashing through the frozen forest. The encounter didn’t end there. In the months that followed, the witness reports strange owl-like vocalizations, suspected Sasquatch mimicry, and a growing sense that these beings may be intelligent, patient, and deeply connected to the land. The conversation also explores sightings near the Mississippi Lake and River system, swamp habitats, wildlife feeding patterns, and why Sasquatch encounters are often reported near wetlands and remote conservation areas.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible.
From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways.
The stories come from everywhere.
one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've
lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change
the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. All right, Pickfuss Society. You've got the
privilege of talking to Mika Luce today. Mika is an individual that reached out to me from Facebook.
We got connected on that platform and Mika's had an experience from Ontario, Canada. So
Mika, welcome to the show today. How are you doing?
Oh, very good. Thank you.
Awesome.
Yeah, I've been looking forward to having this conversation for a bit of time
to hear about what you've experienced up there in Ontario.
We don't get a lot of Ontario calls, maybe just a few,
and the map is looking a little sparse up there.
Let's make sure you have the time to share what you experienced up there.
So feel free to take us back when this all started happening.
you, Mika.
Basically, I would say it was about five years ago.
I rented like a very primitive shack,
typically a garage with the wood stove in it.
And it was in a little village,
Innesville, Ontario.
It's near Highway 7 in between Perth and Carlton Place,
which is about an hour from Ottawa.
And I basically,
there's been many nights where I've gone outside,
at maybe 3 o'clock in the morning just to get some fresh air.
I've had a little bit of a skin rash because when I was living at the cabin,
I think there was mold in the cabin, but anyways, I was having an allergy problem.
And so I went outside one night and it was in January.
And it was, there was about three feet of snow on the ground.
and there was a layer of ice.
So everything I had frozen over, and it was pretty cold.
And I was down by the lake and the end of the peninsula,
where the end of peninsula meets the forest.
So there's like wetlands there in the summertime.
It's like swamp and the peninsula from the lake.
But in the wintertime, it freezes over,
and a lot of people, they'll do ice fishing in the wintertime in that area.
So one night, around three in the morning, I was standing right by the wood line, the forest in the summer.
It's like a swampish.
But it was all frozen over.
And two houses down, there is a couple who feeds the wildlife.
And what we've noticed, it brings in, like, a lot of gear and things like that.
So they always throw, like, apples and God knows what else they throw on the ground there.
One night, it was really quiet and I was outside around 3 o'clock in the morning.
It was dark and I was just stargazing right by the tree line.
And I was just before at least three hours, I was out there for a long time.
And there was no sound whatsoever in the forest.
It was absolutely quiet, not a peep.
That's what startled me was all of a sudden it was, it was,
went from quiet to, to, there was something else in the woods with me while I was in the dark.
Because whatever it was, which I'm suspect, it was pretty much a Sasquatch,
because it was no bear, it wasn't a deer, it wasn't the size of like between eight feet to
12 feet tall. It was huge and massive, whatever it was. And it's,
started to move in the forest because it thought it was alone.
But I was there in the dark, I'm on the tree line, and it started to walk.
And it might have walked about maybe 10 yards, five yards, not too far.
But it was stumbling around, and it was like making noises, like grunting, making noises,
grunting, and it was breathing.
Like, it was huge because I could hear its breath.
like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was huge. And that's what started. It was just,
it was terrifying for me. And for a while there for maybe a couple of minutes, I was absolutely
quiet, terrified. And I didn't know what to do. I was, I was scared. So I ended up making a monster
noise to, too, I was big and bad to scare it because it was like it was so close.
to me and I would say it was at least, I would say 10, 10 yards away from me. It wasn't far
whatsoever. And that's, I could literally like hear it breathe and that's why it was just so
terrifying. I wasn't able to see it because it was like pitch dark. It was pitch dark and
what I believe was the Sasquatch. It never realized I was there till.
like I made a loud noise.
And then what it did was I scared it.
And it rained across the frozen forest.
And that's three feet of snow.
And underneath the snow, there's debris of logs and sinkholes and water.
And plus there's like a layer of ice.
And when it ran through the forest, there's like the forest.
There's like bushes and branches everywhere.
And this thing ran, it ran through the forest, it picked up speed, and it was like very, it started off slow and then it got faster.
And it ran, I swear to God, it ran through a forest with three feet of snow and frozen over with ice, like an Olympic sprinter, as fast as an Olympic sprinter.
just and when the weight of the creature
it ran like a man
like strides like a human
but his feet broke through the ice
as he like just started to bolt
he was breaking through the ice
as he went along for quite a long ways
into the forest
and then he went back into stealth mode
and as he got far enough away
he just went back to silent mode
because he was just getting away
from he didn't realize
I was that close to him. And ever
since
I've always
I never went out there to check the footprints.
And the reason was
is well the next day it snowed
but because I was terrified.
Honestly, I was
just terrified.
And
what I realize about the
Sasquatch is
I believe there's
curious creatures
and I scared the
Sasquatch so I believe he came back
he came back
to the forest to
see
what scared him and
I believe that
what I observed when I was out in the woods
was that
the Sasquatch
makes and mimics a call of an owl
but the
owl sound that the Sasquatch
makes, it's like a lot deeper.
And it always
comes from a safe distance
away all the time.
So you never, even
if you went over there, there would be nothing
there. It's always, they're
making the call at a safe distance.
Just like communication,
they're just letting me know that they're there.
But I would
say that they're
all and all, they're peaceful creatures.
I don't believe that they're
really hot.
fighting as best they can, but I don't believe that they're aggressive creatures. I believe
they're probably spiritual creatures. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what I think.
So you were actually, you had a visual of this creature when you're out there in the woods.
No, no, I didn't, to be honest. I was close to it. That was the difference. I was so close to the
Sasquatch. I could hear it breathe.
Okay, wow. So... That's why it was...
That's why it was so terrifying.
Not the fact that you're seeing it, you're up close with it.
Just a couple of five yards to eight yards under the 10-yard range.
And it's so big that it just...
I found that the Sasquatch let its guard down because it thought it was alone.
And when I went out to the woods to check where...
the Sasquatch was, I brought a hunter from the area and I showed him where I think the
Sasquatch hides. He comes to the bush in that area. And I showed him how the trees were laid out
in that area and that spot. And I said, that's where he hides because it gives him cover. And I go,
doesn't it look like if you were there in the woods, that's where you would hide? And he's
He's like, yeah, like he could see that what I was talking about.
And I heard the Sasquatch run, like, right through the snow and the ice as he crashed
through the ice all the way through the forest.
You know how loud that is?
Well, I would imagine it's got to be massively loud.
So going off of how-
Massively loud.
Absolutely.
So going off of what you heard, then that's where you get the idea that it's something
that is like the size of eight to 12 feet tall?
Yes.
Gotcha.
Yes.
That makes sense.
By the way, I think that they're very patient creatures.
Patient.
That's come.
If you're going to come from a military background or if you're a hunter and you're a hunter
and you're very patient for your prey and you're out not trying to make a peep and you're
not trying to make a sound.
so not to alarm any other predators that you're out there.
And that's what I don't understand.
It was quiet for hours.
And then all of a sudden it appeared in that spot.
Excuse me.
What ink was, what I think is that they're very patient creatures
because it was waiting there because down two houses,
they feed the wildlife and it attracts deer and it tracks all kinds of other things.
So I think that it's the Sasquatch also followed the deer migration and they also hide out in more swamps, swampy area.
And the area where I was where the lake meets the forest and that forest goes for miles and miles all the way to another lake.
Like it's a huge conservation.
It's huge.
Okay. And that's, is that Lake Simco?
And every, no, it would be the Mississippi Lake and River system.
Okay. Gotcha.
Yep. Mississippi Lake and River system.
I want to make sure I heard the right area. So you said it's Inisfil, which is I-N-N-I-S-F-I-L. Is that right?
No, I-N-N-I-S-V-I-L-E. Got it. Let's look at.
Innesville.
And because there's another name in Ontario that pops up sometimes a lot.
It's called Innesville with an F, ILL.
Yep, that's what I was looking at.
But that's not the one.
Okay.
No, I'm, it's up highway seven towards Ottawa.
Oh, yeah.
This makes way more sense.
You are absolutely right.
It's right next to a huge, like there's a big sanctuary there by the lake.
Absolutely.
Yep.
And there's another lake.
What's the name of the lake?
I forget the name.
It's called Chelsea Lake.
I'm not sure, but it's a girl's name.
And when you look on the map, off to the left, there's another lake.
Oh, Haley Lake?
Haley Lake, that's right.
And that all the way from there to Haley Lake.
And that area is not easy to access because a lot of it is near the lakes is swamp.
So it's easier for them to hide.
And that's why when you hear about people, about the Sasquatch when they stink a lot, like or there's a spare smell.
I think that's why because if they did smell, then it's because that is a sign that they're hiding.
They're more in the swampy areas and swamps like stint.
So this happened around 2020.
Then for the last five years, how is this?
affected you then? Actually, it's affected me. I would say in a good way. How about the
Sasquatch? He affected or hurt, right? Because I'm the one who scared the Sasquatch. And the
Sasquatch, while he was scared, so he ran off. I've come to, I come to, I don't know how to put it,
in my heart, in my spirit, I feel like I made peace with the Sasquatch. And like, like I said,
it was curious about what scared him in that area.
So afterwards, he was also coming around.
And when I went for a walk in the woods,
a little waves along the ATV path,
there was a noise in the woods,
but it was off a distance
where I wouldn't be able to make it there or on time.
And it was a vocal of an owl,
but it was way deeper than an owl.
Like it was no owl,
but it mimicked an owl.
But if you're something that has like a very deep tone,
a very deep tone, a big creature with a deep tone,
it could mimic other creatures and sounds in the woods kind of thing.
Absolutely.
And then, but I didn't feel that I was a threat to it.
It was just curious.
It was just a curious creature.
But it was letting me know that it was there.
I could feel it.
I could feel the eyes on me.
And when I heard that sound, and that sound of that owl call isn't normal, by the way,
because I'm outside a lot in the area.
And there's a difference between an owl sound and then one that comes from a very deep tone,
a very deep place.
And that was the difference between just a regular owl sound and the sound.
that the Sasquatch make.
And I know that the Sasquatch make other noises, too.
But I think they're overall,
they're very patient and they're very quiet.
That's way.
You had mentioned that there are also some other reports
from the same area that you've heard over the years?
Yep.
I was just talking to,
Who was it? I was just talking to a fellow that told me about he's heard other people or heard about other people in the area that have had encounters.
Now, I don't know what those encounters were, but they're experienced people that are outdoors people.
and I don't think that they're just seeing a bear or seeing hallucinating.
I would say before my situation,
before my, that interaction that I had in that moment,
I don't think that I believed in Sasquatch.
Like I didn't judge it, not a judger, but I said sometimes just because you haven't
experienced a situation doesn't mean that they could it could be a possibly true. It's just,
I have a newfound respect for being out in the wilderness. It's just changed me.
I'm sure it absolutely has. And there's something that you had mentioned a few minutes ago.
You mentioned that you feel that they're spiritual creatures. Is there anything specifically,
that's happened that that makes you think that?
Spiritual creatures are to me, they're, they're very patient and their traits are deep down
they don't want to, they don't want interaction and they don't want to hurt people either.
I don't, I think that's truly a fact because there's so many sightings that,
Usually there's sightings and they'll see them or have them on camera.
But they've never, I can't say that.
I can't say that for other stories.
I think that they're part of human.
They're an offspring or something to do with the Nephilim giants from long ago.
And I think that they're bred with half of the giants and half human human from long ago.
go and I
that's what I think
but I think that fear creatures
because
more likely or not
they're they don't just
go and kill people or
I don't know
like
I've seen other shows
or people with
stories of them
I can't
I don't judge for other people's
stories because I just know what happened to
me when I was out there.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is this something where you would want to have an experience like this again, where you're
out there and you hear this, but you can't see it and you know that something else is
there?
I would love to have more experiences with the Sasquatch because I'm not there to hurt it.
And I have a good, I think I'm a good person.
I think that they feel just like they feel intelligence and they feel a human, what a human is like.
They can sense it, just like an animal can, or you and I can feel when a good person is a good person or somebody that is bad.
I find when you're, when you immerse yourself into nature and you become one more with the elements,
I find then you're more open to meeting, having an encounter.
And when I walked out there, I spoke out loud in the woods,
so I tried to let it know that you're always welcome into my home
to sit by my fireplace.
So, anyways, come on over, Sasquatch, and have a cup of tea.
Absolutely.
After you did that, did anything out of the ordinary start to happen
at home as well or is it just out in the woods?
Previous, about four months previous to me having the encounter out in the woods in
an interview was something that happened back in the city at my home, but you get afraid to
tell people what you thought you saw without making yourself look like you're losing your mind.
but I was just sitting on the couch in Stony Creek where my apartment was with my mom
and I saw the invisible I saw a Sasquatch standing in my living room but it wasn't there
physically it was translucent like a ghost and I shook my head and I looked twice in my seeing
what am I seeing. It was there for actually more than five seconds. So I've really got to
look at it and think, am I losing my mind? Like my marbles? But then I had the experience with
what I believe was a Sasquatch in the forest when it was when it ran through the woods.
I got to hear it breathe and I got to hear it grunt and I got to hear it. I got to hear it
walk around a tiny little bit in the forest before I like lost my cool because I was just terrified.
Maybe I should have be quiet and shut up and not let it know known that I was there in the woods with it.
But I did.
I wish maybe I wouldn't been quiet for a little longer or a lot longer.
It was just because I was scared.
I did it out of being scared.
When you had the, when you saw the Sasquatch that was more invisible or you could see,
you could tell it, was there anyone else with you or like even a pet that had a reaction to it as well?
It's funny that you said that because I have this, I have an orange cat.
His name's Sherman and he was with me when I was about that day.
I just, I wasn't paying attention to if the cat was, but the cat was there.
You know what I got from that vision of the Sasquatch that came in the front sliding door at the apartment was it gave me a sense of, it was a spiritual creature and it gave me a sense of strength and power.
it's a strong creature with the muscle on that thing is like an ape or something like it's very
it's jacked it's very jacked like you'll it emanates peace i don't know emanated harmony and it emanated
but it emanated strength but i've had the connection i feel with it in the heart
but in my spirit is connecting with it not and i find that a person that is an outdoors a outdoors you
you have a better chance of running into a Sasquatch, not by walking around and searching.
You're better off hunkering it down and sitting for hours just quiet.
And like you're not there, I'm glad you asked that question about that, what I saw in the apartment,
which is, I was hesitant to tell you about that, just because it was something that I, I,
it wasn't a physical form to it,
but it was invisible like a ghost.
And it didn't last for a long period of time.
It was just there for a very short time.
Sometimes am I seeing what I'm seeing?
That's exactly what I thought when I was sitting there
because I started to really stare at it.
What the hell am I seeing?
But that's private.
Yeah, Mika, I want to say thank you for coming on the show.
