Bigfoot Society - Something Watched Me From 200 Yards — Then Vanished | Oregon | Idaho
Episode Date: August 16, 2025What happens when a lifelong outdoorsman begins a spiritual transformation — and the forest starts watching back? In this haunting episode, we sit down with Steve, a wilderness photographer and hunt...er with decades of experience in the Pacific Northwest. As Steve pursued both wildlife and personal healing, he began to notice patterns: trees snapped in impossible ways, strange lights in the forest, objects vanishing from his apartment — and finally, a silent figure in black watching him from the road below. This episode dives deep into the intersection of the paranormal and the spiritual, with stories from the John Day Wilderness, the Salmon River, and the Idaho backcountry. More than just Bigfoot, this is a journey through faith, fear, and the mysterious intelligence that might be watching those who are ready to see.🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Patreon – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072📧 Business Inquiries:bigfootsociety@gmail.com

You're listening to Bigfoot Society, and I'm Jeremiah Byron.
Tonight's story isn't from just a weekend hiker or someone just passing through the area.
It's from Steve, hunter, and wildlife photographer who spent decades deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
But what started as peaceful trips into the John Day wilderness turned into something else.
Screams in the dark and snap trees and it just goes wilder from there.
This isn't just a Bigfoot story.
It's also a spiritual journey of Steve.
and it's still unfolding to this day.
So stay with us.
All right, Bigfoot Society.
I've got the privilege of talking to Steve today.
Steve is an individual that contacted me via email about some interesting things.
He's experienced over the years regarding Bigfoot in the northwest corner of the United States.
So we've got a lot of ground to cover today.
We were talking a little bit before recording started.
So Steve, welcome to the show.
How are you doing today, sir?
I'm doing really good. Thank you very much.
Fantastic. Fantastic. I love hearing accounts from the places that we're going to be talking about, Steve.
So, you know, feel free to go ahead and I'm going to pass a mic over to you, take us back as far as we need to go.
And I know you have this all worked out. So feel free to take the reins, man.
Okay, yeah. So I'm 60 years old now and probably about,
15 years ago, I've always been in the woods hunting all my life and hiking, backpacking.
And so I used to backpack solo, and people would always ask me, am I afraid of bears?
And am I afraid of Bigfoot or whatever?
And I always thought the Bigfoot thing was nonsense.
And so I was hunting and killing.
camping out of the north work of the John Day Wilderness campground, which is over out of
Yucaya.
It's like Highway 52.
It's like a forest road, but it's actually a paved road.
So we just call it the 52, which goes all the way to granite and then eventually
somewhere where it changes to, I think, it's Highway 71 or whatever.
The Elkhorn Mountains are right there.
So there's this nice campground there with a wilderness trail, the 3022 trail.
And so I started hunting in there.
I was backpacking in there.
I eventually car camp in the campground and did my hunting from there.
And I went out there.
I took people out there, friends, family.
We backpacked in, we car camp.
I spent a lot of time.
You know, the snow doesn't really clear out of there until June-ish.
And so as soon as I could get in there, I would start either camping or hunting for bear in August,
just for a reason to go out there and scout for elk.
And then I would be out of there by rifle season, which would be October.
So I was in there for one reason or another for years, and I got to know this area pretty
close to the campground.
And I ended up getting a couple of elk out of there, my first ever elk, and I just kind of
love the area and the campsites were nice and they were primitive.
So the first thing that happened to me, I'm going to go kind of fast here because I got a
bunch of stuff in Idaho that's important also.
So the first thing that ever happened to me is I was sleeping in the back of my truck
with a canopy on it.
And I knew most of the guys in the campground.
They were regular hunters and we would always see each other all summer long.
So I knew who did what and occasionally
hardly anybody ever went down the wilderness trail, the 30-22.
Most of the hunters always hunted the easier areas around the surrounding area.
And they would fire up their pickup trucks and they would go drive and go and go to their easy hunting spot.
And I always like to go down the trail because I can get away from people.
But there's really nothing to hunt in there unless you're willing.
to climb right out of that canyon, which I did.
And so it worked for me.
But so whatever year it was, I was sleeping in the back of my pickup truck.
And about three in the morning, I had to, I guess, go to the bathroom.
And it was one of those nights where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.
So like, I would go right out of the back of my pickup truck on the tailgate because I had a
I was too much to jump out and I was going to try to get back to sleep.
So anyway, it was one of those nights where I had to hold on to the vehicle while I was going to the bathroom
because I couldn't see literally anything in front of my face.
It was just solid like.
You couldn't see the sky, the tree line.
So as soon as I laid back down and closed up the back of the truck with the canopy and the tailgate,
I heard footsteps down the gravel road there at the campground road.
So I had a little window that was always open.
And so immediately I sat up and I thought, well, I don't know who's leaving,
who's walking this way at 3 o'clock in the morning.
But like I know these guys, so I'm going to say something to them.
So I immediately expected to see a flashlight.
You have to have a flashlight or you literally can't walk like 20 yards.
And there was no flashlight.
And it was a little, you know, it was about 20 yards away.
And so it just seemed like it was louder walking than it should be.
When I didn't see the flashlight, I kind of freaked out a little bit.
I knew something was coming.
So I laid back down and I just sort of freaked out a little bit.
I knew for some reason instinctively the next thing that was going to happen was something
was going to bang on the side of my vehicle and there was going to be a face looking at.
I don't know why I thought that because I actually thought.
thought about, I actually thought about Bigfoot at that point, which is kind of odd.
So, so nothing happened.
I couldn't get back to sleep, of course, and I did my thing,
flash landing my way through the dark to get to my spot.
Nothing happened.
So fast forward to the next summer, same area, except I drove around to the top on the 52
road, and then just was going to scout in there.
and that's where the big thing started to happen.
So it was a beautiful morning.
The sun is just rising over the Elkhorn Mountains.
I'm only 60 yards from my truck,
and the light rays are shining through the trees.
And I just know it's going to be a great day.
I'm going to see something.
And right at that point, I got the classic ear-shattering,
heart-pounding scream of a Sasquatch.
Which at the time I had no idea what that was.
So it was about, I would say, five seconds long.
And it was the typical, what I would tell people later,
when I took them camping there,
I would tell them both stories about something
to walk by my truck very big.
And then I would tell them about the stream,
which I described as, as loud as the train horn,
that sounded like a cross between a lion and a woman screaming,
which is odd because later I would hear other people describe it like that.
And so, but at the time, although it scared me to death,
it didn't startle me like where I dropped something.
It was just sort of like, I tell people it would like,
blew my skin off.
Like if it was a cartoon,
it would have like blew my skin off.
You know, it was just so out of place.
But for some reason, I just,
blanked out on what it could be.
And I actually started to sneak through these little pine trees that these like Christmas
trees that were on either side of this little road as you go into the forest.
And so I decided, I just had no idea.
I thought there's got to be some people over there doing something weird.
There's no vehicles out there on the road.
And this is where, so I only go about like 10 yards and I get through these little pine.
trees and I look over across this somewhat clear area. I know every inch of this territory.
And standing there was a cow elk. So the cow elk, oddly enough, so I'm looking at this elk
thinking, I have no idea how what could make that sound. There must be a bull elk laying there
that I can't see and it must have been able to scream that loud.
I don't know.
But I did notice, I'm looking at the elk,
and I noticed that it looked very silhouetteish.
Usually elk are kind of looking around,
they're moving a little bit, their ears are twitching.
And this was not doing that.
This was just like a cardboard cutout, sort of weird.
So believe it or not, I just kept going into the woods.
It's like I just didn't know what to think.
And so I continued on and nothing happened that I remember other than I just thought about it on and off all day.
Okay, so fast forward years go by.
I'm always telling that story.
And so when hunters or whatever say, before I can get to the elk part, when they, the screen, they go, well, you know, a mountain line fits do that or mountain lines can be very loud.
and it could have been this or that.
And then I tell them the elk part.
I said, okay, so if it was a mountain lion,
why would an elf be standing there next to the mountain lion?
And then, you know, everything gets silenced at that point in the conversation.
So what happened was years later, I was following,
for whatever reason I wasn't into hunting anymore,
I got into wildlife photography,
but I was following Steve Isdahl on YouTube
and listening to his hunting story.
And then he told the story at one point, one of the videos about his first encounter, which I didn't even know what that meant.
But because I, because I liked him so much and I felt like he was a real down-to-earth honest guy, you know, with the trunking stories and everything.
So he, he tells the story, which kind of got me to thinking, to put it mildly, and I basically sort of started to really rethink.
started to think back. Well, I didn't know Fasquot screens at the time. I didn't know anything about them.
So, but I just started to realize that, oh, maybe it is true. So then my wheels just started spinning,
and it really started to make me hesitate about going in the woods. So the next thing that happened,
I started like looking into it more on the internet. And I started finding all kinds of stories
from people that were mountain climbers or like one guy from South Africa who's I don't even know
what his podcast was about or his interviews that he did he was in South Africa but he's an
American guy he was into like security or something and so his channel was about that but because
I searched for Bigfoot he told his Bigfoot story about when he was a teenager and again so I started
hearing all these stories and I'm starting to go into a little bit of a spiral
and then when
and I'm just going to throw these names out there
and not the channels
if you want to bring up the channel
whatever you know
you can just stop me or whatever
but I'm not sure that you want me
to mention all these channels
but you just keep talking to
you need to and it's fine okay
so Kerry Arnold
I found that
I found his experience
which is where they went out
into the woods and relived
his experience
like 10 or so years later after he had it in Mississippi.
And that one, when that happened,
I was in the suburbs of Portland,
not even close to any kind of woods.
And I was looking up at the curtains that were cracked open.
And I started to like really freak out
because it just was dawning on me that this is,
like the whole thing was starting to dawn on me.
And like in his interview, we mentioned the screaming and stuff.
And then I realized that's that's what it all came,
started making sense.
And I had to start rethinking all this stuff.
So that led me into a real spiral of emotion that got really bad,
not as bad as it was going to get.
But it made me realize I need to go back out there.
And I need to like face this thing down kind of thing.
Like I'm a wild knife photographer.
Like I just started a new life.
And now I don't want to be out there.
So I did.
I went back up there and I stayed in the vehicle and stuff,
but I just wanted to try to get through the night and get through my fear and all that.
And it was terrible.
But I did it and nothing happened.
But I was pretty close to my first encounter spot and I was doing panoramas of the Milky Way galaxy.
So I had to be out there at like one or two in the morning to shoot this panorama for somebody else that wanted this shot.
And I just remember, you know, when you do that long exposure, you have to turn off.
All of the lights, right, have to be off while you're doing a long exposure.
And I just remember like already just being on edge and just kind of turning and looking into the absolute blackness that was five feet away for me.
Just knowing something was going to like standing there.
I could just feel it.
But anyway, so I knew that the answer was not to live in fear the rest of my life.
So, okay, so that's what happened in Oregon, was the scream, the elk, and then, you know, whatever walked by my truck, which is not earth-shattering.
But the scream, you know, nobody would deny that that's something out of this world, right?
So if you were there, especially.
So then, so I'm living with this and dealing with it, and I'm doing, like, I'm going into the coastal range mountains with stuff.
up and doing photography and that and I'm you know I'm on edge all the time a certain
a certain level of like almost like PTSD so I moved to Idaho and I start operating
photography up the Salmon River out of McCall but I drive to the Salmon River
and the first thing that I'll just give you the sequence and I don't
know if these things are all related. But the very first thing that happened was it's very hot
and windy in this part of the country in the summertime. And there was a day where it was
100 degrees and the wind was just blowing like crazy like it does here. All right, quick quiz for the

In the afternoon.
And I decided, you know, not to even bother doing any kind of photography.
I was just going to go sit in the shade by the river.
There's one picnic table, and I had a fold-up rocking chair, and I would just put my feet up on the picnic table,
and I had a pair of binoculars that I had brought with me instead of my camera,
because I wasn't going to see anything, and it was too hot.
So the wind is howling, and I'm kind of, like, looking up through the trees.
You know, the sun is directly overhead, and I can see.
the seeds and the dust and the birds and whatever just blowing around stuff everywhere in the air.
And then I looked downstream about probably 300 yards and I see something flying up the river.
And about 30 or 40 feet off of the water.
And I like to do birds in flight photography.
And so I was like, well, that's great.
I don't have my cameras in the truck.
and like, oh well.
But it happened for whatever reason to bring the binoculars.
So this thing's coming down the river and as it's getting closer to me, it's going to go,
it's going to be on my left here.
I notice there's no wing slapping and it's not moving.
It's not being moved by the wind.
I thought maybe it was a balloon that got loose, but it's not being affected by the wind.
So as it gets, I bring up the binoculars and as it's like directly to my left,
I zoom in, I get a perfect shot of this thing.
which was this little disc, weird looking flat on the bottom,
but domed on the top,
wouldn't look like it had like three little legs sticking down.
And I'm just fascinated that this thing is not affected by the wind in any way.
So that's all that happened there.
But I thought maybe it was some new kind of drone,
and I found out, I talked to a drone expert later,
and I described it.
He said, yeah, there's nothing.
that I know of that is like that.
So during this time, I'm visiting people in the area,
and I'm finding out other people have had experiences,
which we can talk about.
And then probably what I call the big three.
So all this time I'm studying online, you know,
videos, your stuff, Wes's stuff,
and whatever I can find and just watching interviews
and getting more and more spiraled into sort of this, like, my worldview is being shattered kind of thing.
And I need, I don't know what's going on.
You know, I need to, everybody else seems so casual about it on the podcast and stuff.
And I'm just like, this is like, this is the biggest story in modern history.
I don't understand everybody's sort of like taking it for fun, like it's a hobby to go out and bang on trees.
And, you know, I'm just like, I don't know what to think.
So it got to a point where, you know, it got really bad.
And I thought I had nobody to talk to.
And I actually emailed West and he never got back to me.
And oddly enough, one of my friends the next day and I told him I need to talk to him.
And I talked to him a little bit.
I didn't tell him all the details.
But I just said I'm having a hard time with us.
And like, so somehow he really helped me out with that, even though he doesn't believe in that necessarily.
So I'm glad I didn't talk to West because of what was about to happen.
Because if I did talk to West, I would like to add this into the story, which is what I'm going to tell you right now.
So I'm living in an apartment and I'm going to mention another name from a Flash of Beauty, which is Mel Ska-Han.
I think this is the first thing of the three things that happen.
So every week, I would work a few days at a store,
and then I would spend my other days up the river doing a wild-life photography.
And so between going out, well, every single day I'd be watching something,
and I was getting more and more sort of blown away by what I'm hearing.
And I think this is important later if we have the time.
I think what this has to do with is as far as having interactions with something about your attitude,
something about your level of humility and stuff.
But that might be a different discussion.
So I always go up on the same mountain, very steep, windy road that takes you up there.
So the road can be in disrepair a lot.
And so I leave my vehicle down at the bottom in the spring because it's very steep and there's always rocks rolling off the mountain and stuff.
trees fallen over.
So I hike up this road and all
I'm thinking about is this interview with
Mals Gahan where he
was a Yakima Indian guy
or is the Yakima Indian native
American
and he talks about the ceremony that he
attended.
Which if you haven't heard that, I'm probably
I'm sure you have, but like it's
profound what
happened during this ceremony that
he had that had nothing to do with Southwatch.
And so that's all I'm thinking about as I'm walking back down the mountain.
And I'm just zoned out on that.
I'm not even looking around or anything.
And then all of a sudden I hear down in the valley below me near my vehicle,
this long, not as violent of a stream that I originally heard,
but a long holler, I guess, like a holler that lasted long enough for me to hear it.
and then walk across the dirt road from the mountain side to the drop-off side and stand there and still hear it,
knowing that that's not something I've ever heard before.
I don't remember that part of Mel Scahan after the ceremony what happened.
I wasn't even thinking about that.
But I'm listening to the sound which stopped in a weird way.
It sounded kind of like a two-stroke motor.
as far as the whine of it, but it was like coming from someone, someone was making the sound
with their mouth. So I decided I'm going to walk down there, get in my vehicle, and I'm going to
drive up further up this canyon that's down there, another canyon. And if I see anyone, if I see
any cows or animals or a wolf or whatever, I'm just going to dismiss the whole thing. So I do that
and there's nothing there.
There's no sign of life.
And there shouldn't be at this time of year.
This is in the spring probably two years ago now.
Maybe it was last year.
And so I go back and I'm telling a friend of mine who's had an experience himself.
He's a believer.
There's a local guy.
And I show him that the Mel Skahan.
video of him just the part where he's talking about the ceremony and i'm not even remembering what
happened after the ceremony so my friend sitting there listening to it and um then at the end of the
story mel has to go back out into the woods and do something and he has the same experience he has the
same holler happened to him and so while my friend is watching this and i'm realizing oh i forgot
that's the exact same sound i just heard i asked my friend i go well
What does that sound like to you?
And he goes two stroke motor.
So I'm like, okay, that's weird, right?
So I decide I'm going to go up into that canyon
and have a look around the next week, which I do.
And it's a real narrow.
There's a creek that flows down it, and there's some,
it kind of looks like Oregon, actually, with ferns and cedar trees.
And it's kind of unique for this area because it's pretty dry here.
So I go
I go up and I find a place where I can
quite a bit further up like maybe
a mile or half a mile up path where I heard the south
where I can walk on a road
an old dirt road that's gated off.
You couldn't hardly drive on it. It's overgrown.
So, but I'm going to walk in there and just have a look around.
And so I'm walking up this little road
and I see
and there's a little bit of snow
it's actually snowing
and there's all these little like again
like the Christmas trees
that get up to like 15 feet tall
pine trees or fir trees
along the side of this road
it's a really nice
super quiet walking soft
and the first thing I noticed
is one of those trees
is broken over
about
I have a picture of it
it's about
so I'm like six
So it's a little bit like six or seven foot up.
Green tree, which would normally be very rubbery, very difficult to break.
And it's just snapped over.
And but it's growing, well, it's growing from down the hill up past me.
So it's probably from the base of the tree.
It's probably about eight or nine feet or something.
I can't remember.
I got pictures of it.
But so I'm like, oh, wow.
And no other trees.
I've never seen a tree broke like that, especially a green tree.
tree. I've seen a thousand dead trees. So I'm like, oh, worth taking a picture of. So I walk
another hundred and yards up this road and the trees kind of disappear off the sides of the
road and it's kind of open and I turn this corner and there's a dead deer laying there on the road,
like freshly killed, not warm, but like you could cut meat off of it and eat it. And the back of the
deer is something got a hold of it and like tore out the bottom of the deer. And so there's a
little bit of blood clots and stuff and hair on this road. And the deer's head was kind of oddly turned.
So the deer's back was sort of facing me with its legs away from me, but its head was turned around
looking at me with no eyeballs. And so in and of itself,
this had nothing to do with Sasquatch.
I would find that very odd that this deer is laying in this road.
But it's just odd.
Like I've covered hundreds and hundreds of miles, thousands in my life.
And I've never seen anything like this.
I've seen, you know, roadkill and I've seen Cougar Kill.
But anyway, I'm just like, oh, and so I'm looking at it.
And, you know, I just don't know.
Like, obviously a mountain lion, you know, killed this animal and it's just right here on this road.
But my approach would have been like 100% quiet.
Like it was as quiet as it could be.
There was a snow going.
The road was wet.
It was a pine needle.
I should have walked up on either birds or a bobcat, coyotes or something you would think.
There's no track.
So I keep going past the deer.
back, the deer's there, I get back into my vehicle and I start heading out and I see another tree
break on the main gravel road. I'll be a big, bigger one, taller, but just stands out from all the
other trees broken over, fresh. So now I'm seeing two tree breaks that I've never seen before
in my life, anything like this, in the same place, maybe 200 yards apart.
One on either side of the creek.
Impossible.
Because, you know, there's even a, even a tree deadfall would have a hard time snapping off a tree,
three quarters of the way up.
It's either just going to smash it down or it's going to, you know, possibly break it in half.
But these are very rubbery green trees.
So I took a picture of that, too.
And that was bigger.
And it's like, I eventually took this friend of mine up there months later because he was a logger most of his life.
So he knows all about the possibilities of tree breaks.
And, of course, we're looking for possible pieces of something that could have fallen off of another tree.
There's nothing.
The forest floor was very clean on both of the tree break.
So he's studying it.
He gets back in the vehicle.
And he's like, dude, that looks like a tree.
tree breaks. So, so that was the first thing. That was the first week, let's just say, of the holler,
the tree breaks, the deer, because when I mentioned the deer to him in the beginning when I got
back, he's like, oh, that's a gift. They gifted you the deer. And I was like, okay, so
then actually he wanted to do like dinner butter and jelly sandwiches and put, and I went back out
there reluctantly. And to say I was on edge, there's an understatement. So I did the peanut
butter and jelly sandwich thing and hung it from a tree and all this and went back a week later and
nothing had touched it. But what was weird, I almost forgot this, is that at one point when I was
going in there back and forth, checking on situation, and I was learning that if you really
want to have an encounter, don't take a camera, a gun, or a flashlight. I'm not sure I want to have
encounter, but for some reason I just felt like it was it was part of what was coming.
Something is building, because in my spiritual life, in my outside of the paranormal stuff,
like the same thing happens when you start practicing, you know, spiritual principles of
like giving and receiving and like karma.
But I just knew that something was building.
And I didn't know if it was just a face-to-face.
face encounter or something or a sighting like a class a class a site and I didn't know if that's
what was going on but something was and so well you'll see um so the deer disappeared at one point
and I remember going I'm looking I'm looking down on the ground where the deer was and there's
zero evidence that the deer was a deer there there's not a single strand of hair nothing
and I've seen a lot of dead deer.
And the hair will be there a year later.
If you tear the hair or if you've got a deer,
the hair will be there a year later.
And there was not a single strand of hair there
from what potentially was a mountain lion,
you know, that maybe ate it or maybe.
It's probably too early for a bear that time of year.

The bears are still in hibernation.
So, coyotes maybe, but the whole deer was gone.
dragged. I looked all over for it. It couldn't have been up the hill. The hill was too steep,
so it had to be down the hill, and there was nothing down there. There's no drag mark.
So I did the peanut butter and jelly thing, and nothing happened with that. I was just,
I went in there a few times, and it was rough, like not going in there with a gun,
just knowing how vulnerable I was. It's hard to describe. But at the same time, I'm slowly,
I'm slowly climbing out of this PTSD hole.
I'm slowly, well, so what happens the next week is I'm in the air, let's just say in the area at dark,
but I'm close to a town.
I'm in the town versus in the woods.
And I'm in a little spot outside the edge of town.
And I, uh, it was dark.
And so I was dealing with some garbage in there was the dumpster there.
And I see a little flash of light on the corner of my eye.
It caught my eye.
And I look, and this orb, I guess you want to call it, appears about 80 yards away.
This is the same time frame as the deer and stuff, which is spring.
So there's no leaves on the trees.
And there's a bunch of trees in this light, green,
I don't even want to say it was an orb.
It didn't look around to me.
It looked flat.
It was like the size of a trash can lid.
Green like a green street light,
like a traffic signal green light.
It was that color,
but it had like almost like a green
sort of flamy, fiery, something or other.
And this thing appears after the flash
and it's going through the trees
and it's shaking up and down at the same time.
like it's vibrating up and down.
And it probably lasted about four seconds.
And of course, I realized just from listening to videos and stuff, you know, watching
videos, the orb relation.
And all I felt like was, well, the next thing that's about to happen is I'm going to have a
Sasquatch stand in front of me or I'm going to disappear.
And so I was tempted to just like gut it out and see what happens.
But I couldn't do it.
I took off.
So that was the second thing of the three, which totally freaked out my friend for like a year.
Huge.
Like this is not like a glowing orb floating through the tree kind of thing, like you have softball size or whatever.
This was the size of a car wheel or bigger.
So nothing happened there either.
And then probably the weirdest thing happened.
So on the third week, I'm up the river and I decide for my photography that I'm just going to park off the paved road.
Instead of going up into the canyons, I'm just going to hike straight up the Salmon River, one of the ridges that I can tell it's very, very narrow tops on these ridges, like with rock outcroppings, sort of like the back of a bridge.
believe it's like the Stegosaurus dinosaur where, you know, it's grassy sagebrush hills on both sides,
but they come up to a point of boulders that stick up maybe 25 feet high.
You can't even walk on the very top because it's too bouldery.
But there's like these game trails that snake around the boulders and work you way up higher,
which is very easy walking.
And it was one of the few times that I had, um,
bring my trekking poles.
I don't usually use trekking poles, but sometimes when I come down, big steep mountains,
my knees will give me problems.
And I had a pack on.
I had all my stuff on my back,
and I decided to take my trekking poles to help brace the load on the way back down,
which is interesting because as I'm coming back down,
I'm going on this game trail.
It's real easy walking because of the game trail,
but also the way that the bulls,
shoulders are sort of naturally placed almost looking like steps it's real comfortable walking
and so I'm going I'm going along the edge as you're going down this nice edge
ridge nice yeah nice top you know I'm on the right side and I got my trekking poles
which makes it even easier to walk like you're not going to trip and fall
and that's all I remember and I wake up
on my face downhill, I just wake up.
Like I blocked out.
And I had this, you know, the typical like stereotypical migraine headache for about one minute.
Like I got punched in the face, which I, you know, essentially did.
And I don't understand how, what happened because I didn't trip.
Okay, so I get up and I'm fine and I'm wondering how am I fine in all these rocks?
I fell on my face downhill with a pack on and I look down where my head hit and there's one little spot of dirt,
a little dusty soft spot of dirt where my face hit.
Weird.
Like my nose isn't just my forehead.
So I'm like, man, that is, that was close.
I don't, I must have tripped and don't remember it.
I don't know.
But I didn't put my head.
hands down or brace my trekking poles or anything.
And that wouldn't be that weird.
I wouldn't bring that up except for what was about to happen five minutes later.
So now I'm on the left side of the ridge going down.
So I'm looking down at the paved road.
I see my van parked there.
And because of the ridge that I'm walking along, it's so steep.
I can't see to the right.
I can't see downstream at all.
The whole mountain all the way down.
and I'm about 200 yards from my van.
Broad daylight, middle of the day,
the day, sunny blue sky,
I can't see but about 25 feet behind my van downstream.
My van is pointing upstream.
And I can't see more than about 25 feet in front of my van
because of the brush down there
that's growing up very high, covering the road.
So my van is there,
25 feet on either side of pavement.
And I'm fully camoed out.
And like, there's no way, there's no way anybody could ever see me up there.
There's no way anybody could see me have gone up there.
Because you get out of the van and this road is very, it's remote.
And in this time of the year, it's, um, nobody uses it.
you know, this is a rafting area, but in the spring, there's just nobody up there, hardly ever.
So just as I'm sort of like working my way down through this game trail, and I look up at my vehicle,
and this figure walks into, it starts approaching my vehicle on the paved road.
And immediately, it's not that odd to have people walking up there, but immediately I knew this was odd,
because not only was it a very tall figure, dark from head to toe, black, everything,
shoes all the way up to the hat, if there was a hat, I couldn't tell.
And it was a tall, lanky figure that took a couple steps.
And I hesitated because I just didn't know if somebody was going to mess with my vehicle
or I kind of wanted to watch.
And I had a camera on my back that I could have taken pictures of somebody messed with my vehicle,
whatever, all this goes through your head in like one second.
And he takes, he, I guess he, he took a couple steps, got beside my van.
He's in, he's in the only little window where I can see him because he's about to disappear behind this brush.
And I'm thinking, this is weird.
Like, it didn't look like a typical sightseer or tourists that are kind of walking and kind of lollygagging or whatever and looking up at the mountains and looking at the river and looking around.
This person was marching with their head down, and he stops right at my van, and he does like an about face kind of thing, looks right up at me, which I just was completely frozen at this point.
I'm like, this is all happening in a second, but I'm like, is he looking at me?
He's no way he can see me.
I'm literally the same color as the boulders.
My backpack and everything is brown and green and camo, 200 yards away.
and I'm in this little pocket of rocks and stuff.
There's no way he sees me.
But then he brings his hands up
as though he's holding a telescope,
not binoculars, but like a telescope.
So his hands are in front of one another.
And he brings them up to his eye
and he's looking right at me.
So I'm just, I don't know what to think, right?
I'm just frozen, of course.
And then he turns and he continues on his march.
And so then, I don't know,
it was like this road that he's on curves curving slightly to the left a big arching curve and then
it's going to do a sharp left hand turn and he's going to be gone so i can anticipate
how far he probably is as i'm going down the hill and i'm thinking this is freaking me out but i don't
know what to think at this point like there's no way he knew i was up there there's just zero chance
that he knew i was up there or that he could see me and i'm tempted to
to drive up there and ask him or whatever.
But I'm kind of freaked out.
I'm like realizing this is not normal.
But anyway, I get to about 30 yards or 40 yards from my van.
And now those trees that would have obscured him as he stepped into them in front of my van,
I'm looking through those trees at the road.
And I know there's a spot I can see a pavement up there.
I know he's going to be there any second.
And sure enough, he popped out there.
So now I'm behind this big screen of trees looking through.
There's no way, you know, he would see me now.
I mean, there's a lot of big, big trees, leafy trees, which all the leaves are down.
But like, so as soon as I lock on to that spot, he walked into that spot and he spins around.
And he's looking at me again.
Again, he's not like a typical church that's looking all around and enjoying the sites and whatever.
He just turned and looked right at me some couple hundred.
yards away for sure.
And I'm like, there's no way he sees me now, but he's looking right at me.
I can tell.
He's not looking.
His head's not moving up and down or anything.
And then he disappears.
So I jump in the van and I'm like, I'm going to drive downstream because if he's just
a guy that's on a walk, there's got to be a vehicle down here.
Some people do that later in the year, they'll park and then they'll just exercise or,
you know, take a walk.
So I drive down there, there's no vehicle.
So I already knew there wasn't going to be a vehicle.
And instead of turning around and just like going up there and getting it over with to find out,
I just knew he wouldn't be there if I drove up there.
And I was kind of freaking out.
And I just kept going.
I just got off.
I just took off and headed home.
So, yeah, so those are the three things, the deer, the orb.
and then this what I call the man in black thing, which I only say that, like when I'm talking to my friend about it.
And I took my friend up there who was my age, and he's been in the woods all his life, too.
And I showed him.
And he was like, yeah, there's just, I mean, I couldn't, I couldn't even hardly show him where I was standing.
And it was so hard to pick out all the stuff, the boulders and the different trees and stuff that were up there.
I had a hard time, you know, telling him like, no, over to the right.
And he's like, oh, are you talking about, like, right there where that, I'm like, no, a little bit lower, you know.
And so I'm looking up there.
I've been up there 20, 30 times now since that happened.
And I've just stood there and looked up there.
I'm like, there's just no way.
I don't understand why someone or something would behave that way in that very spot.

because the little bit I could see of the paved road down there is the little bit that he could see of the side of the mountain for the same reason.
So I was just in a little sliver, and if he would have walked three steps back, he wouldn't have been able to see me.
And if he would have walked three steps forward, he wouldn't have been able to see me because of the mountain and the tree.
So he just stopped in the right spot without even like looking up there.
he's looking down at his feet
and he spun at the very
spot where he could like see me
and he held his hands up like he had a telescope
and that's weird enough right
but it's also weird just that he was so tall
and there was no distinguishing
differences in colors of clothing
or anything
it was just I'm just telling you it was just super odd
and so a lot of these things that happened to me
they could be written off like the thing flying down the river.
It could have been some drone, I suppose, you know, the dead deer.
It's possible that a mountain lion killed it and just left it there.
The holler from before I saw the tree breaks, thinking of the Mel Skahan story, it's possible.
It was something else.
I've just been in the woods all my life.
I've never seen these things.
So I kind of always go back to, well, did I ever, did I have anything really weird happen to me?
And I remember, you know, the thing walking by my truck, the first story, not the weirdest thing in the world.
It's possible it was a person.
The thing that happened with the scream and the elk, not possible.
The tree breaks, I don't think are possible.
and then the orb could totally be unrelated to this.
But I just find that all this stuff happening at once.
And then I don't know how much time we have left,
but then stuff started disappearing out of my apartment.
And it got to a point where it was like I had to like literally go up and say something to them.
Because I was told you can actually go and talk to them and, you know,
or tell them to stop
bothering you or whatever.
And so I didn't ever want to go to that level.
I didn't necessarily believe in it,
but it got to a point where I did that.
On one of the items that disappeared,
which was very expensive to me,
and when I got back from that,
when I went back up there and did my thing on the mountain,
you know, my photography or whatever,
because this thing was so expensive,
the other items that disappeared were not very expensive.
It was back where it should have been when I got back to my apartment.
That's all I can say.
And I'm talking about I have a very minimalistic lifestyle.
I have very few things.
I don't have a bed.
Like I sleep on a pad.
I have one chair.
I've lived in my van.
I've just very organized.
I have some very expensive outdoor clothing winter versions and spring.
from summer and I'm very careful, you know, where I have those.
And so when something disappears, you know, I'm like everybody else in life.
Like I've lost my car keys and my wallet and stuff just bizarrely.
And then I find them and then I realized, oh, yeah, I forgot.
Like, I have that stuff happen to me regularly, just like everybody else.
But that's not what this was.
That's not what was happening to me.
I'll just tell you these things real quick about what happened.
One of them was, you know, just like I had a hat disappeared that I never wear.
I bought it.
It was kind of like a, it was a really nice camouflage hat that I kind of just hung on the wall.
It was a camo hat that had a front that you could peel off Velcro and you could put other patches on.
And I just don't wear hats.
I hardly ever wear a hat.
I haven't wore a hat in two years.
I wear headbands usually.
And so this hat disappeared.
and I looked all over for it just thinking I must have wore it.
I don't remember wearing it.
And then I never found it.
And so then, oddly enough, I bought some local salmon steaks,
and I have those in the freezer,
and I always wanted to eat one.
They're kind of expensive, so I was going to do something special with it
to figure out how I was going to cook it.
I just put it in the fridge to let it.
it thaw out and I would worry about it later. I'd figure something out later. And, you know,
if I opened my fridge, which has like five things in it, you know, I would see that salmon steak
and it would be a reminder that, oh, yeah, I need to have that eat that in the next couple
days. And like 10 days go by and I'm thinking about salmon again. I'm thinking I need to have one of
those salmon steaks. And then I remembered, yeah, I already thawed one out. It's, I can't believe
it. So I jumped up and ran to the fridge and I thought, man, I wonder if it's still good.
It wasn't in there. So the salmon steak is not in there. I did not cook the steak and eat it because I was waiting for this to happen so that I could practice different recipes or whatever.
And I was going to share it with some friends on what I. So anyway, the salmon steak was not there.
And then the big one was when I had a very expensive piece of clothing. I had three things.
hanging in my closet for months.
I had a puffy jacket, like some shirt, and then I had these expensive winter pants,
you know, $200 plus.
And I had already used them for the fees.
And I hung them in the closet because I wasn't going to use them again for another
nine months, probably.
And one day I was comparing my, you know, I was going to order something and I wanted to
check the waist size, whatever.
So I want to look at these pants in the closet.
There's only three items in the closet.
person and they're not there. The pants are not there until I'm tearing my place apart,
which takes five minutes to look through everything. And those pants are not anywhere in my apartment.
So the only place they could be is in my vehicle, which I do have like a tote in there,
which I keep some gear in case I get stranded overnight and I can, you know, have a sleeping bag
and some cold weather stuff.
And I always have that tote in there.
And I knew it wasn't in there because I don't use those pants.
I use puppy type gown and synthetic puppies if I'm going to be stranded overnight.
You know, these were not like that.
These were just lined pants.
But my van is parked like 100 yards away from where I, where my apartment is.
And so I just was telling myself, the next time I go to drive somewhere,
I need to check that tote.
So finally I'm up on the mountain.
This is when that happened.
Keep in mind, I tore all this stuff apart over and over like three times
like you do when you lose your keys or something.
You keep looking in the same place like it's going to suddenly appear
and it's just like there's nowhere else to look.
It's a big, thick pair of pants.
So I'm up on the mountain and I'm doing my thing and I remember,
oh yeah, I got to check that tote.
So I pull over on the side of the mountain and they check the tote.
And of course they're not in there.
I knew they were not in there.
So that's where I was getting fed up,
and I actually just kind of did like some people do.
And I don't, I think I, I think I yelled it out loud,
like into the forest.
I was like, I want my pants back.
And I don't know what to tell you other than I drove home
and the pants were in the closet.
So, you know, you don't know me, you don't know.
You know, I understand.
Like, as somebody else was telling me that story, I'd be like, well, you know, people sometimes just aren't that focused.
You know, you were just not paying attention and they were there the whole time.
So then one day I'm sitting in my chair in my apartment in them early, still dark, and having coffee.
And beside me comes this bubble.
like I would say
two inches wide
like a kid would blow bubbles
this bubble
floats by me
like two feet away
just
and so the only way that bubble could be there
is that somebody standing behind me
in my apartment blowing a bubble
which
freaked me out in a
way, like I was out of that chair and turned around in like less than a second.
And there's, of course, nobody there.
And I look around and the bubble's gone.
So again, like these things add up, right?
Like one of these has to be weird.
And then the only other thing that can happen that I remember apartment-wise is I had a
bowl outside.
I lived on the second floor and I shared a balcony with someone else.
of mine that I worked with.
And there was a bowl, like a dog would drink out of, outside of my door on the balcony.
There's no access to this balcony.
You go out the other side of the apartment.
It's a daylight situation.
And I go out there and the bowl was full of water.
So that bowl was always empty.
You know, it was dried, sat there all the time.
And I went out there one day and I looked at.
and the bowl is full of water and it sits on there's a big overhang so no rain can get in there
and if the rain did blow in there then it's going to soak this indoor outdoor carpeting
that they have on the balcony and I knew it didn't rain and nothing else was wet I'm
out there in my stock but this bowl is full of water oddly enough as weird as it's very benign
whatever. So that's basically everything that I have to say as far as, you know,
noticeable, odd things that stand out, the encounters I had.
And then eventually I just sort of crawled out of my PTSD aspect and more, you know,
because the Melchahan thing, the whole point of,
The ceremony, when he had that experience at the ceremony and went back out in the woods,
he wanted to know, am I okay?
Are we okay now, right?
Because he had to correct something.
And he got that holler.
So he got, you know, in his mind that was like, oh, I guess we're okay, you know,
because he did what he was supposed to do according to the medicine, man.
And I just feel like the deer,
and the holler and the man in black kind of thing that I talk about,
like, I think they're just basically saying to me,
for whatever reason,
I didn't conjure any of this stuff.
I didn't go looking for this,
but it's part of what I think is maybe another conversation about,
um,
that this is all spiritual,
you know,
these are not,
these are not aped.
These are not leftover cavemen.
or anything, that's clear to me.
But I think it has to just do with, at least in my case,
it has to do with your attitude.
When you start going down a spiritual road
of developing humility and like getting rid of your dysfunction
and anger towards life and unforgiveness, which, you know,
that's what I was also doing at the same time,
which is why all these things start happening.
And then there's just one other quick story that I thought about much later, which when I was first going to leave the Portland area and go to Idaho, I traveled around.
And I met, I was in, I was in central Oregon.
And I met a woman who was also like going to live in her van and travel for a while.
And so we sort of camped out by near the Dishuze River.
and we hung out for a couple days,
and she was basically a psychic,
which I didn't put a lot of faith in any of that,
and tried to understand exactly what she did,
and she was a little vague about it.
Like, I didn't know if she was a past life regressionist or whatever,
but I shared with her,
so none of the Idaho stuff happened at this point,
but I was already kind of going down the road of PTSD
on the Oregon stuff that happened.
And I shared with her that what happened with the Sasquatch experience in Oregon.
And I said, and then my research is showing me that they might be spiritual being.
And she said, well, I would have to have a session with you in order to know if they're attached to you or whatever.
And I was like, you mean like hypnosis and you go into a trance kind of thing.
And she's like, yeah.
And I'm like, yeah, okay.
I'm never going to see her again.
But she just lived down the road from me, as it turns out, in the Portland area.
But then later during the camping, she came to me and said,
your Sasquatch friends or something like that wanted me to let you know they know you and you're okay.

So just understand, like this is long before I've gone down the woo road of this stuff.
which I completely believe in now, like having watched interviews from like Rich Jermu,
especially his two-part interview on a Flash of Beauty,
walked out a couple times, just the most profound stories like that are at that level of ever.
He had the very similar things happen to him, right?
So I didn't take much, put much stock in it at the time when she said that.
because other things happened like that in the past too that I just
you know I don't know you just don't know but looking back
I just find it odd that I had all these experiences in Idaho
which seemed to I know they were culminating to something so this character
on the road is looking at me with these with these make-believe telescope
as though I see you right the deer and then the stuff in the apartment like a
bubble come floating by me in my apartment.
So I know, I mean, I know they're there.
I know they're watching me in some way.
And so when I'm in the woods now, it's like it doesn't matter to me because I'm not
going to stop going in the woods.
The only thing I don't do well and I haven't done is like spend the night because I
just, I can handle a lot of things, but not three o'clock in the morning, you know,
knock on the side of the vehicle or pressing in on my tent.
I just don't think I'm ready for that.
I don't think I need it.
But somehow I have a parallel story for another time that has to do with like spiritual
Christianity and abandoning doctrine in the church and stuff for trying to be a better person,
a humbler person, more honest and loving and forgiving towards other people,
which has been a great journey and it's worked.
But what's odd looking back is I had like a supernatural experience on the Christian side during this journey in the very beginning,
which when I look back and I do the math as close as I can tell, that's when I had my first experience in Oregon with the screen.
Again, it may not be related at all.
So basically I was doing, I had a spiritual journey on the right.
or I guess on the one hand, and then on the other hand, I'm having this increasingly dark and terrorizing experience with this paranormal Bigfoot stop on the other side.
So that's a really big, that's a huge deal, I think.
Okay.
Well, go ahead.
What do you think about that?
So you were walking, you were trying to figure yourself out spiritually at the same time this stuff is starting.
to amp up. Is that the correct way of hearing that?
Yeah. So in the beginning, when I had this profound experience with another religious
person, which I could probably share with you in three minutes, but it was, it was supernatural
for sure. And yeah, but I had the scream in Oregon at the Northwark in the John Day
Campground area, but then nothing happened to me after that for several years.
So I was probably in yeah so it was like two like this whole thing with the
fast-quatch screen was probably so 10 years ago I was
it would have been 2015 so this was probably like 2012-ish that I had the
Sasquatch scream and then fast forward to 2018-ish when I learned
The Steve is dull thing was where I got introduced to Sasquatch are actually real.
First time I started to believe it.
But in the spiritual world, who knows, like, times don't matter.
But what happened to me on the spiritual side was pretty profound,
and it's almost like it unlocked something on the darker side.
Like, I turned a corner.
spiritually.
And this is like,
this is like Christian-based spirituality,
not like New Age.
But also,
it was the beginning of something
that was about to happen to me in the future,
which is the story I just told you,
where when I called Wes,
or emailed Wes,
I was laying in the fetal position on the floor.
And like with no hope,
I felt like the only person on the earth
it's a weird it's a weird depressive feeling it's more than sadness it's hard to explain and so
that was the bottom that was the very bottom for me but the whole the whole message i get is
as this as i climbed out was how much faith do you really have like i basically went on a journey
of faith of like trusting in God for my life and for my circumstances and not worrying about the future
and sort of looking for miracles and like you know because I had like a fundamentalist Christianity
upbringing that just didn't make sense to me there was a lot of problems with it and it was
often cold another story but so that's what I walked away from and when I did I had this profound
experience in the coldest act with a memory of
of the LDS church that was that was building for some time and so when that happened the feeling
and this feeling if anybody wants to hear it described really well again was on the flash of beauty
recent video maybe only the last one or two or three videos that they did was with with a guy
who's sitting with some water in the background and he's kind of like out in the trees and he's sitting
telling a story and he describes this exact thing
And this just freaked me out because this was like two weeks ago.
I'm just listening to his story because I keep up on your channel.
I keep up on their channel.
This guy, I don't think, was like Christian-based.
I think he was more like metaphysical or whatever Eastern thinking.
And he describes in there his experiences where this warm, you know,
it's like this warm feeling washes over to your inner most, like,
Every, he said, like every cell in my body was just filled with like love type thing.
The way he described it was exactly what I experienced with a really heart to heart emotional
conversation I had with an LDS meeting, you know, Latter-day Saints member who I had a discussion
with in the street.
And that was, yeah, so that happened to me.
And the other time that that happened to me, the only other time in my life was 40 years
earlier as a teenager in a church in the church that I was forced to go through by my parents
and I had no idea what the guy was saying ever he was always up there ranting and raven
and you know running back and forth on the stage and I just didn't really I was just there
looking at the girls and stuff I didn't know what was going on but I had that exact same
experience in the in the pew sitting next to my parents and ever since I had that
experience, it opened my eyes to spiritual things. That's all I can say as a teenager. I've never told that.
I've never told that story to maybe three people in my life. So I went forward in my life being very,
is a very dysfunctional upbringing, all the all the stuff you might have heard about with the
sleep paralysis and dark figures in the room and just bad parenting and all that, right? So I think
that's all connected, but it's basically just, you know, you're in darkness. You're blind. And then at some
point, God opens your eyes. And then later in my life, having this, you know, wanting to know
more truth, like believing that the fundamentalist Christianity is not the answer. That's obviously
not the answer. If you read the sermon on the mouth, he doesn't talk about any doctrine in there.
Jesus doesn't mention any doctrine, starting with the beatitude,
you know, Matthew 5, 6, and 7.
It's all about you have to, you know, do what I say, go the extra mile,
you know, give to the poor, give your body to be burned,
love your neighbor as yourself, love to your God with all your heart.
And I'm looking around at the church after 20 years.
I'm like, nobody's doing this.
Like we're just like having vital study and, you know,
checking off boxes.
and acting like however we want the rest of the week.
I'm like, you know, I want to know the truth.
I got to get out of here.
And I did.
And at the same time, I had the sequence of things with the LDS missionaries
that would come to my door every, say, once a month.
And I always had great talks that started out very fundamental.
But as time went on, I realized, you know, why I'm taught to like hate these guys, right?
I'm taught that these are the enemy.
And I'm thinking, at least they believe in God.
Like, I can't even find anybody who will, who understands what's the basics, which is, you know, creation versus evolution.
People are just into their football games and kind of checked out.
And like, at least I had these guys I can talk to about spiritual things, you know.
So why am I, why am I arguing with them?
So after about four times of them coming to my door every once in a while, my message became more and more, let's put the bottles down, let's just talk.
And I could feel it building in me.
I could feel like I was welling up almost like with cheer, something was happening.
Well, the kid that I met in the cul-de-sac was not a missionary.
He was an 18-year-old kid, I think, short little guy that was passing out brochures for something else.
Like he was doing summer job.
He was up from Salt Lake City.
And by then, you know, so when he mentioned Salt Lake City, I said, oh, are you LDS by the chance?
He goes, yeah, he goes, I just got back from my missionary work in Mexico.
We were building houses.
And at that point, it's just him and I standing in this cul-de-sac, which has two daycares in it.
And there's usually tons of people coming and going, but it was completely quiet.
I'm standing out there with this kid that's just staring at me, like kind of almost like with his arms folded, just looking at me, like waiting for me to ask.
So I go on this rant about, I go on this rant about like, man,
it seems so stupid that we're you know we we believe a lot of the same things you believe in an
afterlife i believe in an afterlife and i know you know our differences are technical and stuff but
at least you believe in something right and so i go in this emotional rant and he's just staring at me
the whole time like like he's waiting and i'm i'm thinking you know i'm probably talking too much and
this kid's kind of freaked out and all of a sudden i feel what as i'm sort of
like as it's welling up in me, I feel coming down from above, this warm, you just have to watch
that video to, like the guy described it better than I can, a flash of beauty.
And so I'm sort of hesitate for a second in my rant and I'm feeling that's going down through
me and I'm looking sort of down at my feet. And then he says, do you feel that?
Oh, wow.
And then at my, at that point I kind of looked up at me, just had that,
same look on his face, like, sort of gave me a nod.
He's like, that's love.
And he walked off.
So again, it's like, I did, I guess, something right.
You know, I was on some right journey, I guess, I want to say.
It's like I got confirmation that when you conjure up that much passion for people
and concern, you know, like I might hate this guy I'm talking to,
but if all of a sudden he starts bleeding at death, I'm going to, all my attitude is going to
change immediately, right? And so it's kind of like that's how you have to be with people. So that's,
you know, a long story, I know. But that's basically the journey I was on. And to this day,
that journey has been a whole book I could write. All right, quick quiz for the hiring managers

Absolutely.
Absolutely.
My goodness.
So just real quick.
So after you started down that journey, that's when the weird stuff started happening for you.
Yes. So it started happening and then when I when I was mature enough, so in other words, I was
challenging God in a way, not not sort of in my prayers, but just like I don't care about my money.
I don't care about my future. I don't care about my health. Like because the Bible says,
why do you worry about the things in the future? Why do you worry about what the clothes you're going to
put on or whatever it says like the things that you eat it's like the birds of the air
don't worry about that stuff and yet i take care of them don't you think i would take care of you
so those kind of uh sort of red letter Christianity they call it like and i'm like yeah why why
how much faith do i have if i'm like on the one hand go in the church but i'm worried about how
much money i got my 401k for 20 years from now so i just went down this road of i'm abandoning all that
like I'm done with all that stuff.
Like, and so as soon as I started down that road, all the stuff started happening,
not just the Sasquatch stuff, but the good stuff.
Like the miracles in my life, one after the other, after the other,
so that I'm in the situation now that I'm in where I'm in the best place I've ever been in my life,
my patience level, my forgiveness for my family, you know, my, like my happiness,
my sense of humor has increased.
I'm making people laugh.
everywhere I go I get employee of the month
people want me
to be friends and like
just opportunities come
just when you need a hundred bucks for something
as soon as you turn off the switch
the worry switch the hundred bucks shows up
and so once you understand that you can turn it on and off
with your
humility
when you just let things go
let you know
like forgive this then
things start happening.
It's like a ball that you get rolling.
But at the same time, the Sasclots thing was interwoven with that.
And the message I get, I get these downloads.
I get these downloads.
I was a troubleshooter all my life for high-tech, you know,
electro-mechanical stuff and like really complex troubleshooting.
And so a lot of times it's the same way there.
You've got to let your subconscious, like,
sometimes we'll troubleshoot something for three weeks and we can't figure it out.
It's going to be very expensive.
I just developed this sort of instinct.
I was very sensitive to when I was getting frustrated or impatient with somebody
and realizing it was a test.
So I would get these messages sort of in my mind.
I would just kind of like be sitting there and all of a sudden it would dawn.
I mean, what the answer it was to something,
whether it's troubleshooting technical thing or whether it was, you know,
a reminder that I'm being angry and worried about something I shouldn't.
But the ultimate test has come to me, the ultimate.
test is how much faith do you have? If you really have faith, then go out there, they're waiting
for you at 3 o'clock in the morning, no guns, no flashlights, and no camera, and let's see how
much faith you really have. Because we already know from experience that they're not going to
hurt you, right? We already know the technical stuff. So what are you worried about anyway?
right see that's the message i get so go do that let's see how your faith is after that and that is not
something i have been able to fully do but um to the degree that i have done it it definitely pulled me
out of my hole so now i realize it's a game that i'm weak in some regard and that um you know
that test is always waiting for me it's just super interesting
the whole thing. It's just very, I understand it, bizarre. I'm like, I'm a normal person, you know, otherwise.
So, but I know you guys, your audience and stuff will understand this kind of stuff because of, you know, that this is, all this kind of stuff surrounds this phenomenon.
I'm able to talk to you guys, I guess, more about spirituality than I can, you know, people in the local church who would think I'm completely not oddly enough.
Exactly, oddly enough. Steve, what an incredible account and one that is still can,
continuing to go on for you as you work through this.
You're definitely in a much better place.
But, you know, I just want to say, first off, thank you for sharing your entire story.
I know it is a very personal story.
And I just feel privileged to hear it and to be able to share it on this platform.
Please, you know, stay in touch if things continue to happen.
Personally, I would love to know, like, how the rest of your journey plays out, man.
Well, I'll give you an update and, you know, maybe once a year or every six months or something.
And I'd be glad to do it.
And it's a pleasure and a release to be able to talk about some of these things because, you know,
I can talk about bits and pieces to different kinds of people.
But to be able to just to lay out the whole thing, I told you I did it one other time and it took me about two hours.
And it's, you know, I felt better for like a week after that, just being able to talk about it.
So it's, you know, I owe you is the way I look at it.
You're the one that's like the doctor sitting in the chair listening to me all go over the place with these different stories.
But on the other hand, I just want anybody out there listening to maybe get some tidbits here and there because maybe they had a weird experience.
Like when I watched Mel Skahan, that one little part of that made a lot of sense in what happened to me.
Not only was I thinking about him deeply, but I had the same exact response that he got, which is, you know, so this stuff just goes on and on, right?
And maybe somebody will see an orb like I did or they'll see some figure in black on the street or whatever.
And that will be like, oh, I heard this story before from a guy that was on a spiritual journey.
And so they can sort of plug that puzzle piece into their puzzle of life, you know, and try to make a little more sense out of it.
Absolutely.
Oh, my goodness.
Dude, thank you.
Steve, thank you so much for sharing again, and it's been a privilege to talk to you today.
All right.
Well, thank you, and let's keep in touch.
I just want to take a minute to say thank you for listening to this episode of the Bigfoot Society podcast.
Steve's story is one of the rare encounters that lingers, not just because of the scream in the Oregon wilderness or the man in black on the Salmon River,
but because of the way it's tied so deeply to his journey of personal transformation.
So huge thanks to Steve for opening up and sharing something so personal and for reminding us that sometimes these experiences aren't just about what's out in the woods, but about what's changing inside us as well.
