Bigfoot Society - Texas Bowhunter Takes Aim—Then an 8-Foot Figure Runs Out

Episode Date: October 12, 2026

An eight-foot figure ran into a Texas bowhunter’s clearing just as he prepared to draw on his target buck. The deer fled. The figure stopped, snorted, lifted its nose, and ran in the same direction.... The hunter says he has never returned. In Bigfoot Society Episode 1217, Marlon shares his 2019 encounter near Kennard, Texas, close to Davy Crockett National Forest. His account begins with disappearing wildlife sightings, repeated trail-camera alerts, and an unexplained nighttime bellow. When his hunting partner sees something that leaves him shaking, Marlon heads into the woods alone—and experiences a sighting that ends their trip.Plus, Jax recounts a family camping experience near Ariel, Washington, where something reportedly ran behind their tent for ten minutes, screamed, and shook the ground. Daylight revealed broken branches and enormous impressions in the dirt. On Washington’s Larch Mountain, another witness describes coming face-to-face with a massive figure on a snowy logging road, then finding tracks that ended in an open clearing.Three witness accounts. Unexplained sounds, close encounters, and questions that linger long after leaving the woods.Get the free Bigfoot hotspots report: https://bit.ly/bfsreport📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here:https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64🗣️ Share Your StoryHad a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?Send it to bigfootsociety@gmail.com – your story might be featured on the show!🎥 Watch & Subscribe on YouTube🔴 Subscribe here → Bigfoot Society YouTube💬 Leave a comment & let us know your thoughts!📞 Leave a voicemail with your story → Speakpipe (Use multiple voicemails if needed)👥 Share this episode → Watch & Share🎧 More episodes → Podcast Playlist🌲 Recommended: New Jersey Bigfoot Encounters💥 Support the Show & Get Perks✅ Join the community on Supercast – Become a Member✅ Listen ad-free & early on YouTube – Join Here📱 Let’s ConnectInstagram: @bigfootsocietyTwitter: @bigfoot_societyTikTok: @bigfoot.society🧰 Tools & Partners I Use (Affiliate Links)These help support the show at no extra cost to you:Beam (Better Sleep): Try BeamWildgrain (Better Bread): Join HereSeed (Probiotics): Get SeedMedi-Share (Healthcare): Learn MoreLMNT (Electrolytes) Free Sample Pack with your first purchase! : Get LMNTOrganic and non-GMO groceries delivered for lesshttp://thrv.me/uarEhS🎙️ Podcasting Tools:Repurpose.io: Try ItDescript: Sign UpStreamyard: Start RecordingRiverside.fm: Try Riverside🎧 My Audio Interface: View on Amazon☕ Buy Me a Coffee – Support Here🛍️ Grab Some Merch – Shop on Etsy📬 Mailing Address:Bigfoot Society125 E 1st St. #233Earlham, IA 50072

Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer. For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the Caring Bridge link in the show notes.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Thank you. Let's see if Jacks is available. That sounds very interesting. Hey, Jax. This is Jeremiah from Bigfoot Society. Sounds like you had some interesting things happen in Ariel, Washington. Yeah. So we were living up on, um, on,
Starting point is 00:01:00 one of the reservoir, like Lake reservoirs up there, and we had decided to go camping in our backyard, which was on about 20 acres, backed up to National Forest Area, so not a lot of people out there. And we were camping with both our little kids, and we had a couple of dogs down by the lake and woke up at about 4 o'clock in the morning to something running back and forth behind our tent. We were on a flat area of the pasture and it had some like immature trees that were probably about, you know, 10, 15 feet tall behind us. And whatever was running behind us, because we would see elk and bear and deer all the time. We knew what they sounded like, very familiar with all the critters that were out around there, you know, mountain lion screaming. And whatever this was that woke us up
Starting point is 00:01:58 was running on two feet, which is a very distinctive sound from something running on four. You know, usually when wild animals are running by, they're running in a, you know, they run past you. They don't go back and forth. And whatever this was, was running back and forth behind our tent on two feet and hard enough that it was shaking the entire ground. The walls of our tent were shaking. And it was screaming in a sound that I had never heard before. And I've heard it since then on other people's audio recordings of, you know, alleged Bigfoot recordings, very similar to what I've heard in those audios. Both of our dogs, you know, they've been known to chase all sorts of wild critters.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Both of them were cowering at the end of the bed, you know, not interested. in going outside and chasing whatever it was out there. And this thing was running back and forth and screaming behind our tent for a good solid 10 minutes. My husband and I, we were both wide awake. Our kids are crying. And we heard it run, finally kind of gave, things were getting thrown at the tent, little rocks, branches. And I'm about ready to pee my pants. I thought we were gonna die.
Starting point is 00:03:32 I didn't know what it was, but I thought we were gonna die. And I'm sitting there and I'm telling my husband, I was like, where's the gun? Where's the gun? And he's like, well, it's in the truck, which is about 50 feet away and he wasn't willing to go outside and get it. So we sat there and finally we heard it kind of run off
Starting point is 00:03:50 down this canyon off to the side of us a little ways. and we could hear it crashing through the brush as it went away. And, you know, the sun's already starting to come up about this time because it was right about this time of years, end of August. So, you know, it was just starting to get a little bit light out. And we went outside after the sun came all the way up. And the branches on the trees that were behind us, where we were camping, where this thing had been running back and forth, the brushes all trampled down.
Starting point is 00:04:22 And the trees were broken off. the branches were broken off the trees up to about 10 feet in the air. So whatever this was was tall and it was definitely running on two feet. We didn't see any solid footprints where we were because it was grass. But when we followed the trail kind of down to where it had dropped down into the canyon where there was some more underbrush and more dirt, we could see imprints in the dirt that were about 18 inches long. and about eight inches wide that had a foot span of about eight feet.
Starting point is 00:05:04 And my husband is still not a believer to this day. He says that he doesn't know what it was. It wasn't anything that he's familiar with. It wasn't a bear. It wasn't an elk. It wasn't a mountain lion. But he doesn't believe in Bigfoot. I didn't believe in it until then, but I believe now.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And we never went camping on our property again. Wow. That is incredible. Have you heard of any other things happening around that area as well besides what you're experienced? Yes. So we are actually, that is on the south side of Mount St. Helens, which is right next to the Mount Adams Wilderness area, which is kind of a known hot spot. All of our neighbors have had experiences, whether it's sightings or. or, you know, hearing sounds, screams are not uncommon.
Starting point is 00:06:02 You know, this area is a real big hotspot for Bigfoot activity, quote unquote. And we're only about 45 miles as the crow flies from a pretty big hot spot for, you know, alien sightings and Bigfoot sightings. So it's not super uncommon. the little town that's closest to Ariel, you know, they sell Bigfoot paraphernalia all over the place because it's pretty common for people to have some sort of weird experience out there with it. And, you know, it was always just kind of a fun, weird, you know, little kooky backtown thing for us until we had that experience. And that was enough to turn me into a believer because I didn't see it.
Starting point is 00:06:52 for sure, but I've never, you know, I grew up in these woods. I grew up out here and I've never, I don't know any other wild animal that would do that. Yeah, I mean, there's nothing else that could really do that. Are any of your neighbors having stuff happen current day? You know, we moved off of that property a couple years ago and I don't stay in touch with them. I know that we had one other neighbor that had something big through a rock through their window. And they lived past us at the end of, I mean, it's the end of a private road. You got to go seven miles almost in on this private road.
Starting point is 00:07:30 And nobody goes down this road unless you have to because it's the kind of area where you get shot if you get wandering, caught wandering around when you're not supposed to. Right. So, and something through a walk through their window at 2 o'clock in the morning and it was standing outside in their yard screaming. No way. Seriously. And that was the same summer.
Starting point is 00:07:47 So they were kind of, um, Yeah, we were talking to him about that because they came up and we were telling them what happened. And they're like, oh my gosh, we just had, you know, this happened. And they were actually coming to tell us about that to kind of put us on warning that like, hey, did you see anybody down this way? And we're like, no, we didn't see anybody. But we had something really weird happened when we were camping a couple weeks ago. So, and that was probably only a couple hundred yards from their house that this happened.
Starting point is 00:08:17 the way that the properties kind of sit. So no other issues up there that I can think of off top of my hand. Lots of maybe sightings, but nothing for sure. But those are the two that really stood out from when we were up there. Wow. Thank you for sharing that. And if you have contact with any of these neighbors still, feel free to pass on my e-mails Bigfoot Society.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Gmail.com, but yeah, this is, that's, that's incredible. Thank you for sharing for sharing jacks. Yeah, happy to. So it's always interesting hearing other people's experiences and then hearing other people's stories the first time that I heard in audio, all the hair on my body went up. So I was like, oh my God, that was it. That was what I heard. So. All right. Well, thank you for what you do. You've got it. Bye. See if Marlins available. Hello? Hey, Marlin, this is Jeremiah from Bigfoot Society. Can you hear me okay?
Starting point is 00:09:22 How's it going, man? Oh, yeah, you sound great. Yeah. It's going on. It's going good. It's going good. I've actually probably about six or seven months ago. I found your podcast.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I'm very interested in the Bigfoot world and really just the adventurous nature of Bigfoot hunting and why we can't really figure out more information about these creatures, why they're so mysterious. And I found your podcast. I found your TikTok. I'm a big fan. and I really appreciate the dedication of it. I really do.
Starting point is 00:09:53 So, yeah, if you're interested, I can tell you a story. The first parts of it are not all that descriptive. It's only probably about two months in total, but because of the reoccurring events that's happening to me constantly going back to this place and hunting almost every single day, it's kind of what makes the story more interesting because of how much activity happens so often. Yeah, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Okay. So I have a friend of mine that has property that butts up pretty close to Davy Crockett National Forest near Kenner, Texas. It's a real little bitty community. It's not that big at all. I don't even know if you consider it a city or a town. I think maybe a thousand people live in it. And we have been going hunting in this place for years. I mean, it's really one of those, if you don't know where it's at, you'll drive past it type places.
Starting point is 00:10:57 There's not a whole lot of stories about these mysterious sightings or mysterious creatures or anything of that matter in this town. These are all a bunch of fishermen and hunters that are out in the wilderness all the time constantly. so they never, there's never any real stories that come up, or at least if there are any stories, no one talks about it, because they don't want to be seen as this crazy nut. So we put game cameras out probably about two months or so before this deer season. This was back in 2019. And we got a couple of pictures of some deer, nothing too crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Got one buck that looks really nice. And as time goes on, as the days go on, the deer sightings for not just my camera on my stand, but the stands that my friend is using, it just slowly declines more and more and more and more. And like sometimes in the beginning there was 10 or 12, like a whole big herd of deer, and then as time goes on, as the days go on, there'd be one or two less deer. And then the next day or next night, one or two less deer. So over a course of, I'd say, about three weeks, it gets to the point to where
Starting point is 00:12:11 instead of seeing anywhere from 10 to 20 deer within a 24-hour period, we'd be lucky to see one. Now, this happens. I'm sure people driving around looking for spots, says near the National Forest, people spook the deer out. We've seen this before. It's not really all that crazy enough occurrence, but it is interesting as to how quickly it's happening this time. So we keep putting feed out, and that's another sign that we're seeing is the corn and the mineral that we're putting out is not getting eaten, at least not by deer. Sure, we see some raccoons and some pigs come by, but no real deer. So we don't think really much nothing of it. Maybe it's just a dry spell, time goes on. And then it gets to the point to where not even,
Starting point is 00:12:56 we don't even see any raccoons, no pigs, not even hardly any squirrels in this 20 to 25 acre flat that we're hunting, and it just almost as if everything disappears. And we're sitting here scratching our heads like what in the world is going on what why are all these animals and why is the deer population just disappearing and then we're like okay let's move some spots let's go to the other back 30 plot behind the house and let's see if they've moved over there for whatever reason we're trying to figure these things out trying to put two and two together trying to see exactly what in the world is causing all these animals to just for lack of better terms magically disappear. So we take down our stands, we move them over, grab the feeders, move them over to this
Starting point is 00:13:45 far side behind the house, and still same thing. A couple days goes by, absolutely nothing. Just nothing. It's almost like all the animals in this whole area, all just poof. And then one day, there is a big oak tree that's right smack dab in the middle of this new spot. where I have my camera set up. I got this food plot planted, got some corn spread out. There's a big tree right in the middle of it, probably about 15 yards from the camera, straight down the middle of it.
Starting point is 00:14:20 And I finally get a notice. I have one of the cameras at this point to where it sends notifications on my phone, and I get a notification on my phone that something's walked in front of the camera. I look at the picture, and I see nothing, and there's just this weird blur behind the tree. That happens when the wind,
Starting point is 00:14:37 Blows sure happens when the wind blows maybe a limb maybe a bird flew by or maybe something was running You know whatever I think nothing of it and then another 20 30 minutes goes by and I get another notification on my phone The same thing except this big now more predominant Splotchy blur is seems to be if it is something running going the opposite direction And I get this image and I look deep into it and I'm zooming in, I get it on my computer, I'm blowing it up, I'm looking all around, and I'm just like, what is this blur? And again, I don't think that much of it. And when I show these game camera pictures to my buddy, I'm like, hey, look at this. What is this?
Starting point is 00:15:29 And he goes, man, I've heard stories about bears being in Deep East Texas. Maybe it's just a bear. okay, we're just going to chop it off as it's a bear or it's some type of weird limb. I, you know, it just, whatever. Who cares? Let's just go about our day. Keep trying to find these deer. We think absolutely nothing of it again.
Starting point is 00:15:49 That night, I kid you not, about 1 a.m. My phone is going absolutely crazy from game camera picture notifications. Normally I, normally I turn my notifications off. my phone on silent when I go to bed, for whatever reason this night, I'm actually kind of glad I didn't. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I got a perfect picture of a Sasquatch or a Bigfoot in my camera, but I will say that I had about 10 to 15 pictures of what looked to be a splotchy, brownish, blackish figure, constantly running back and forth across my camera. Really?
Starting point is 00:16:38 So, and I could never get a still picture of it. I don't know if it's coincidence or if it was intentional or if this thing or creature was intentionally recognized that was a camera. I don't know if it was smart enough because I don't think it was a human because I feel like eventually if you've seen a person running by that, you know, you're not, you you'd catch you'd be able to see it if it's somebody even if it's in a big brown jacket you'd be able to see oh that's somebody running in front of a camera or they're trying to dodge it or I feel like if it was a person you would be able to depict it eventually and every
Starting point is 00:17:14 single time this was just a flash or a blur and like I said I have I say I say 20 more like 10 to 15 pictures of the same image running back and forth and back forth and I have these photos and I'm looking through and I still cannot depict what it is well as I'm downloading all these pictures, it comes up to about now, 215, 220. The Wi-Fi and Internet's really slow in this area. About 215-220-ish range. And I hear what I think is coyotes hollering. And I'm like, oh, there's coyotes hollering.
Starting point is 00:17:51 And then this really deep, low bellow that I can only describe almost as if like a moose call. Now, there are no moose in Deep East Texas that I know of. And when I hear this, I'm like, okay, that's not a coyote. That's not a dog or I don't think it's a wolf. I mean, I've heard old folks tell stories about East Texas timber wolves, but I've never seen one. That was just a low bellow. I can only describe it as like a moose call.
Starting point is 00:18:30 And at this point, you know, it's in the middle of the night. From the previous time, look at the pictures, my buddy's asleep. So I wake him up and I'm like, man, we got to get outside or something crazy happening outside or something's screwing with my cameras and something made a low bellow. He thinks that I'm dreaming and I shake him and I bring him over to my computer and I'm like, look at these pictures. I just downloaded. Look at them. and then I also tell him about this low bellow. And he's like, man, somebody's out there messing with it.
Starting point is 00:19:04 It's like, no, it is not a human. It is not a person. I am telling you, it is not a human. It is something else. So we sit outside on the back porch of this house. This is an old cabin. This is like his grandparents' cabin that we stay in when we go hunting out there. We're sitting on the back porch.
Starting point is 00:19:19 We're listening. We turn the porch lights off. We're trying to make it as dark as possible. It's about a half. half moon so you can kind of see the open grounds a little bit. We're sitting, we're listening, nothing else happens that night. We even wait until it's about 615, 620 in the morning when the sun's creeping up. We don't hear anything weird besides some birds chirping, you know, nothing out of the ordinary. So that happens all that night and with the cameras and the bellow screen.
Starting point is 00:19:52 and then just like a light switch goes off, all of a sudden, the following day, we're starting to get a couple of more pictures of deer coming by. And it's like, hey, the deer are finally back. And we start to get a couple of pictures, and it found out that my buck that I really wanted to try to take that season came back. And then we're starting to see more and more, almost as if, hey, maybe they made some type of real long trip, some long couple of week
Starting point is 00:20:25 trek or something, and then came back and everything's, hey, back to normal seems like. So about a week and a half goes by. It's getting close to dove season in September in Texas. We still got about a few weeks before both season happens. And we're out shooting dove. We're still getting game camera pictures of deer. So everything is all right. and normal.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And then I'm not even kidding you whenever I tell you, the weekend of Bo season, like we go back on a Thursday, and then that Saturday's gonna be the opening of Boe season. So that Thursday night, whenever we're unpacking the truck, getting all of our supplies out ready to go, like I said, at this point, it had been almost a month's worth of days since that bellow, probably a little over three weeks, since that happened and we're unloading the truck we're getting everything ready rock and roll
Starting point is 00:21:25 we're getting our broadheads on getting our clothes uh washed down in that dead down wind detergent you make sure we got the boots making sure we got all of our supplies and it comes to about 1030 at night whenever i'm finally getting worn down the excitement of the new deer season and i'm finally get worn down go to sleep my buddy stays up uh he's listening to the radio local Interstation playing on his phone a little bit and I don't know maybe an hour of me being asleep. I think it was close to 1140-ish, something like that when I looked on my phone, but he woke me up out of a dead sleep and he goes, Marlon, get up. That screaming thing is back. And I said, what? I said, what? He wakes me out of a dead sleep, literally grabs me by my armpits and pulls me up.
Starting point is 00:22:19 get outside now that screaming thing is back and I'm I'm still like I'm still kind of like half asleep and I don't think anything I just I grab a of a flashlight I'm outside with him I'm shirtless in my in my underwear and in my gym shorts I did think enough to grab some house shoes but so I go out and I'm looking around and I'm just like what What was what's going on? Why did you get me out here? And he goes, I heard the scream.
Starting point is 00:22:54 And I said, what are you talking about? He goes, remember that time back? He told me I heard that low bellow and we sat out here all night and waited. We didn't hear nothing. I'm like, yeah. He goes, it's back. And I said, okay. So what do you want to do?
Starting point is 00:23:07 What do you think we should do right now? And he goes, let's all, let's get a dress. Let's all get scored away. Let's grab some weapons and let's go see if we can find this thing. like, what do we, will we going to, are we going to hunt it? Are we going to hunt it? He goes, no, if anything, we're just going to scare it off. And I was like, so what do you think it is? He goes, I don't want to admit this, but I feel like it might be a Sasquatch or a Bigfoot. And I'm like, okay, well, if that's what you want to do, let's get dressed, let's go.
Starting point is 00:23:42 So we get dressed, we have a side by side, you know, loads it off of the trailer, we get a gassed up, have our weapons just for self-defense go out there, spotlight and just looking around. The distinct thing I do remember is the fact that, you know, that back of your neck, someone's watching you type feeling where your hair stands up. So that type of feeling happened whenever we got near where my stand was, where we had moved from the previous location. like they had the first stand set up and then where I moved it since I started seeing more deer I just left it all there and after all the time of waiting and waiting so we got to the new
Starting point is 00:24:23 the quote unquote newer spot where my stand was and looked around looking and I just had this feeling of man someone is watching me right now I didn't say nothing but at first I was looking around and some something is watching me something is staring me down I get shining around looking and looking and he doesn't have the spotlight that's hooked in to the side by side he has a big like almost magnum p.l style flashlight one of the long ones takes the big d batteries he's shining around and he lets out this blood curling scream at the top of his lungs freak me out made me drop the spotlight which somehow turned it off and when i looked over towards him to see why is he screaming he goes i saw it it. I saw it. I saw it. And I'm like, what? I'm like, what did you see? He goes the blur.
Starting point is 00:25:19 It's just the blur. I don't, I just, I just, and I'm like, okay, calm down. You got, you got to catch yourself. Tell me what happened. And he said, I see the blur. What you're seeing on the camera. I was like, what did it look like? He goes, some type of weird man thing. And I say, okay, it was it a guy? Is it a guy running out here? Is it, is he poaching the deer and he goes, no, it's not a guy because he didn't have any clothes on. I was like, so was it a big foot? Was it a Sasquatch? And his hand is shaking.
Starting point is 00:25:57 His whole body is shaking, but I can remember distinctly his hand that was holding the light was shaking so bad. And I looked in the area where he's seen it. He said he's seen it. And I don't see anything. I'm looking around. I don't see anything. And I can't really see quite that great with the light in the trees because he's shaking so much.
Starting point is 00:26:18 So I grabbed the light from his hand, make him sit down the side by side, and I'm just scanning. Looking over the tree line, looking near where the bushes are, and I don't see anything. And I'm like, okay, let's get you back to the house or the cabin. Let's get you back there and get you calm down. And let's think about this and see if we need to call somebody, talk to a park ranger, or call a game. game warden and see what they think is going on. So we get back to the cabin. It's one of those, I don't know what to say tight drives.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I mean, it's only like a five-minute drive to my stand. It's only maybe a quarter mile from, not even a quarter mile from the cabin to where I got everything set up in my spot. But we get back to the cabin. I help walk him up, send him on the bed. he's just shaking up really bad. Very, very scared. It's obvious that this man has seen something as shook him to the core.
Starting point is 00:27:21 So I'm trying to make sense of all this. I don't want to believe that we actually or he actually just seen a Sasquatch in an area where I've never heard any Bigfoot stories. But if you think about it, why wouldn't that be the perfect spot? You know what I'm saying? If there are no stories or you don't really know of any stories of these creatures in this deep, thicket wood with all these trees and all this somewhat uncharted land of national forests and private property, small towns. I mean, why wouldn't it be a good spot for them to be traveling through or for one to be hanging out? So I try to get some sleep.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Obviously, between catnaps, I don't get hardly any sleep. next morning it's it's my alarm goes off at I think it was 5 a.m. something like that like a 30 or 40 minutes before daylight I get up I go wake him up and he's like I'm not going in the woods so I say okay you want to stay here fine and the crazy thing about it is whenever I walked out the door to put my stuff in this side of the side I'm you know heck with it I came out here to hunt I'm gonna hunt myself. There's not too many things in the woods that will scare me off. I want you to remember that I said that. There's not too many things in this woods that will scare me off. So as I'm starting to leave, I hear him lock the door behind me. Like, that's how terrified he is. So I'm just, okay, whatever,
Starting point is 00:29:03 just go sleep it off. I don't care. So I go drive to my stand. I parked a side by side, some ways back. I go climb up in my stand and relatively not much activity that first opening morning. I've seen one little dough that had a fawn with her let her pass. This is about 20, 30 minute or daylight, nothing crazy. I like to sleep till about, excuse me, I like to stay till about 9.30, 10 o'clock if I don't see anything. If I see a lot of deer moving, I'll stay till about 11 or 12. It all just depends on what I see. So I see a few deer here and there. I see a couple of small bucks that, you know, are too small to take. And sitting here, listen to the birds chirping, okay, despite this creature being seen, it seems like the wildlife
Starting point is 00:29:53 is back. Awesome. Great. Fantastic. Cool. And that's virtually it. I get down from my stand. I get back in the side by side. I go back, take a quick little nap, get something to eat. I'm going back out for my evening hunt. And I ask him, do you want to go with me? He said, like I said, I'm not going out in those woods. I will leave with you whenever we go home Sunday night. But other than that, I am staying right here. Okay, fine. I respect that. Go ahead. So this is the evening hunt of the Saturday. I go in, I sit, I don't see anything and then about 20 minutes before dark, right whenever we like to call prime time, like whenever it's just about to be dark, in my experience, the biggest bucks I've ever shot, the most deer I've ever shot is right after daylight or right before it gets dark. And I'd call it prime time for that reason. So 20 minutes so for dark, my target buck walks out and I'm like, holy crap.
Starting point is 00:31:02 I'm not even remembering about the creature at this point. That's gone from my mind. As crazy as that sounds, it's gone. So I see the buck come out and I grab my bow and I stand up from my stand. I get my arrow at large and my arrow knocked. I get my release knocked on the back of my string, ready to rock and roll. I get it pointed up.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I'm about to draw back on him. and I hear what sounds like an elephant come crashing through the brush, probably 10 to 15 yards behind me. And when I hear this, I freeze. Now, initially, in my experience, if there's two bucks and rut, and if one sees another, and if he's really riled up, he will tear through hell and back to fight this buck. It's just what deer do in a rut, but it's not time for the rut yet.
Starting point is 00:32:04 So the first couple of seconds, I'm like, dang, is that a bigger buck, try to chase him up? Wait a minute. They're not in rut yet. What is that? A big old hog? What is that going on? And where my deer's staying is set up is like my back is towards tree line. There's an opening.
Starting point is 00:32:20 And then there's, it's almost like a skylight amongst a tree. There's a little circle that's been cut out naturally from the trees, opening with the oak trees and everything else, and that's where I planted my food plot, my corn. So I don't see what's going on, and my hunter's instinct is kicking in. Like, hey, don't turn quickly. If it's something you're going to want to take, then leave it beat or try to be still with it. So I'm looking, I'm looking. I can't see, but I hear this thing crashing through the forest. And at this point, when it's crashing and crashing through, my target buck runs off.
Starting point is 00:32:54 And I'm like, well, dang, there goes my target buck. And this thing runs out perfectly in the dead center of my food plot and stops. And I'm like, what was that? And I look, and the best way I can describe it to you is about an eight-foot monkey man. Whoa. stops and looks in the direction that the deer was running, does this little snort, lifts his nose up in the air, and then takes off in the same direction the deer does. Thank God it did not see me.
Starting point is 00:33:47 At least I don't think it did. It never turned his head towards me. Now when it ran off, it did not run with the same intensity as when it had. initially came through, at least not to me. It didn't seem like it was barreling through the brush quite as much. So I don't know. It did sprint away, but I don't know if it was trying to chase the deer down and not let the deer know that was right behind it. If it was a territorial thing or what? At that point, I put my bow down. I climb my stand. I get in the side by side. I drive to the cabin. We load everything up. I have not gone back since.
Starting point is 00:34:28 Oh my goodness. How long ago was this again? So 2019. Okay. Yeah, that's what I thought. Wow. Oh, my goodness. That is insane, man.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Yeah. And the thing about it is, as I tell people that, I tell his parents that, I tell his grandparents that. I even called the game warden and said, you need to go out there and figure out what's going on. There's a big foot out there. And it got so close. comfort. And they laugh at me. They're like, okay, you guys have been out there getting drunk, having it. I was like, no, no, like my buddy doesn't drink. He can tell you. And when I try to get him on the phone, for the sake of not sounding crazy, I have to forcibly make him talk about it
Starting point is 00:35:20 if I want him to tell the story. If not, I have to be the one to tell the story. He says, are quietly. Like, he will not talk about it. And the only reason I like telling people that story is because the fact that obviously at that point, that made me a Bigfoot believer. I mean, I mean, what more proof do I need? I mean, the proof just fell right in front of my lap, right in front of me. I mean, I could have shot it with my bow if I really wanted to. Don't know if I would have heard it or not, but I'm not saying I would, but that's how, legitimately how close it get. And I haven't been back since. I tell the grandparents, almost every single year, the grandparents are calling back,
Starting point is 00:35:59 hey, you want to go hunt a place in Kennard? And I'm like, no. And they're like, are you going to be scared of that place forever? And I'm like, look, whatever that thing was, obviously, I'm in his territory, not he's in mine, so I'm going to leave it beat. And the crazy, even crazier than that is that people go out there. His family members go out there. They go duck hunting sometimes.
Starting point is 00:36:22 They dug them a pawn out there. and when it started going duck hunting there the last couple of years, they go deer hunting, and they never tell me any stories, or they don't say any stories out loud of them seeing this creature. So I don't know if it ran off, or if somebody's seen it, or if it finally passed along its way, or if it's still there and with all the activity, it got better at hiding,
Starting point is 00:36:44 or with all the activity of lots of more people going out there and hunting and things that matter, that it just decided to scamper off. Because no one has said anything or had any more, game camera pictures passed once I told them about that in the last hunting trip we went out there in 2019 no one has said a word or came forward saying hey I got the same type of game camera pictures I had this I heard that nobody wow I can understand how you haven't been back in almost six years yeah does this party you ever want to go back out there or not out of chance. So because of how successful our hunts were when we deer hunted there regularly,
Starting point is 00:37:37 yes, but at the same time, just the thought of me getting back in that tree stand and the slight chance that that thing could walk up underneath me and actually see me this time scares me so much that even whenever I'm in the woods nowadays and I'm, you know, It's like there's no big foot here. I'm a hundred. I'm a thousand miles away. I'm hunting the, I'm hunting the devil's backbone in New Mexico going after elk. There's no reason that that creature would be from Deep East Texas would follow me there.
Starting point is 00:38:12 But there could be a chance, you know, so I always had that in the back of my mind. And, and, and I'm not saying it scares me out of the woods completely, but I do keep my head on a swivel. Every time I'm in any kind of woods, any kind of mountains. nowadays, especially me reading stories and seeing them virtually almost all over the whole U.S. now. Almost all over the entire U.S. it seems like in any wooded area, even some bigger towns in Colorado right outside of them. I mean, I'm just like, holy crap. With us expanding our villages and our cities, we're getting right into their backyard. So. You said it looked like a monkey man. Do you think of a certain monkey when you remember what you saw?
Starting point is 00:39:00 A dramatically bigger, it just an eight foot tall human that was dramatically hairy, but it had the features of like a gorilla. It didn't have the, it didn't have the head of a gorilla, but it like had the arms and the legs and it was kind of bowed over a little bit like you'd see a gorilla when it stands on his back legs, but it didn't have the head of it. It had the head of almost human-esque-like. The reason I say Monkey Man is because I was like, holy crap, is that a eight-foot-tall gorilla? No, that's not, doesn't have the head.
Starting point is 00:39:40 So that's what I say by Monkey Man. I mean, like the appendages looked ape-esque. Wow. That's a really, really intense story. Thank you for getting on sharing that. Oh, yeah. If you ever, sorry, if you ever do go back there or you ever hear anything, please feel free to reach out.
Starting point is 00:40:06 You can email me at bigfoot society at gmail.com. Absolutely. It looks like that town, when they lasted their census, was only a few hundred people. Yeah, makes sense. Did it have a weird smell at all? You know, honestly, I was in such fear that if it did have a smell, I couldn't tell you what it was.
Starting point is 00:40:29 I mean, I was just so in shock. I mean, maybe if I think hard enough, I can try to come up with a smell, but I'd be lying to you. I mean, I don't remember. I just remember the noise of it coming out, crashing through the woods, it eventually stepping out. The snort thing, like that was the other thing when I say like a monkey man because it almost had like a grunt like a silverback does. but not quite as low, but the snort, and then it running the same direction of deer ran. I don't remember any kind of smell. I think I was just so in shock and in fear that I might not have been breathing at all, to be honest, would you?
Starting point is 00:41:09 No, I totally get it. I've heard vocalizations, and that alone kind of shocked me, so I can't imagine a visual. But, I mean, it'd be interesting if there were game cams put up in that area, but that's a lot to ask for someone to go back there when they've had a visual like that. Yeah. But thank you for coming on up. And you know my email so you can always reach out if you'd like to. Yeah, absolutely. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:41:40 I don't know. As far as going back, I mean, thinking about it nowadays, I'm like, man, I just, I don't want to sit here and say, I still see it in my head every night. I don't. I mean, I have a normal life now. I have a job. I'm very successful with my normal life. I have a wife and I have kids. And I love teaching them about outdoors.
Starting point is 00:42:01 I love teaching them about fishing and camping and everything to that matter. And with my daughter, she seems interested in it with my son who's still a newborn. I want to be able to show him, you know, the wilderness is a beautiful place and what we have left of it. Let's enjoy it while we can because you never know what's going to happen, you know, 20, 30 years from now what happens to these parks. So I want to be able to show them the beauties of nature and what it has to offer away from the big city life or away from the cul-de-sac life. But as far as that specific place, it's just one of those like I have a hard time telling my wife about it. And I tell my wife everything.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I still have a hard time telling her about it. And I don't even fully remember if I've told her. the entire full story and we've been together almost eight years now so wow yeah i i get it but thank you thank you for sharing it here i i appreciate you doing that oh you're welcome i felt i felt uh very comfortable sharing it with uh with this this type of society you know that that understands and and gets it you know absolutely absolutely well man um i'm gonna go ahead and let you let you go but thanks for coming on up. Oh, you're very welcome.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Thank you. All right. Thank you, Marlon. That was incredible. Incredible sighting down in the Canard, Texas area. Let's see here. We're going to bring Imagine it up on the stage here. Hey there.
Starting point is 00:43:44 This is Jeremiah. How's it going today? Oh, it's going really good. I'm glad I get an opportunity to share. Yeah, go right ahead. So this was in, I'm in Washington State and this was up in the logging roads. A friend of mine worked for the forestry department. So we had the keys to the green gates, you know, up in the logging roads up on large mountain here in Washington State.
Starting point is 00:44:13 And we were up. Now, mind you, my four-wheel drive was a Toyota forerunner, but it had a 16-inch lift kit and a six-inch bike. left just to give you a height. So I came around the corner my boyfriend and I were just slowly because there was probably two feet of snow on the ground and you know it's a logging road so you got the cliff on one side on the left side and then just a little bit of a mound you know on the on the right hand side not real high probably the height you know the full height of my truck and as I came around the corner it literally stepped
Starting point is 00:44:52 up right under the road right and literally right in front of me so it was probably my face to his face was probably 10 feet oh wow and literally came to a stop so it took it took the first step up I stopped because I was going really slow anyway and you know I just kind of came to a stop it just kind of glanced at me took one more step to get to fully cross the road which my boyfriend was six three and the stride was about three inches shorter than him he laid down just because we we stopped and got out afterwards but um took so it it took the first up onto the road then the next step was on the other side of you know right like right in front of
Starting point is 00:45:45 the passenger seat and then one more step um up to the top of the little hill And it probably took me four steps to go up at my boyfriend, probably three steps to go up that little hill. And then it was a big clearing. And, but it literally just glanced over at us. And it was the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my entire life. And it was massive. And I mean, I was. literally eye to eye with it.
Starting point is 00:46:25 And we stopped, we parked, and we got out, and we wanted to go see it, you know, because he didn't respond badly. I, you know, it was a, it was so, it was so peaceful. I don't, I have no way to describe the peace that we both felt. It was like this instant calming. Like, you know, most people have kind of horror stories about, theirs, but this was different. This was like, oh, but the smell. Oh, my gosh, the smell was so bad. But literally, it was, it was probably 400 pounds. And like I said, the stride was probably six feet
Starting point is 00:47:14 from one step to the other. But then at the top, now mind you, there's probably a 100 foot clearing up there, kind of a, you know, like where there's not tall trees, you know, because there's two or three feet of snow on the ground. And literally, there were only two more footprints to the middle of this field, and it was gone. And there was nowhere, there was nowhere for it to go. You know, there was like, it would have had to step somewhere, and it was just gone. Literally just gone. No more footsteps, no more. There wasn't trees.
Starting point is 00:47:52 that it could have gone into. There wasn't... Nothing, it was just gone. But the features on his face were so... So it had really long, really dark hair, really dark brown. But like on his chest, like a lot of men, you know, like right above the breast is kind of, um, uh, there's not a lot of hair, you know,
Starting point is 00:48:25 like right on the breast and like right at the belly and like right on the, um, you know, um, underneath, what's the part of your arm I'm thinking of, you know, the top part of your arm like above your hands.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Right. His hands were bare. Yeah. So like, you know, those same places that a man's skin would be bare. It was like his were. You know,
Starting point is 00:48:49 so like right above the breast. the brow was was like really smooth a really tall brow really pronounced cheekbones really dark eyes I couldn't tell about the ears you know the hair was like down over his ears his arms were extremely long like almost down to his knees long but just this really smooth gate because literally it took you know three steps and it was you know the first step on and I swear to God it like
Starting point is 00:49:34 calmed us to stop us you know so that we didn't hit him you know kind of thing it was almost like he was just helping you know because there was a giant cliff you know on the one side and kind of a if you've ever been up on logging roads in the wintertime
Starting point is 00:49:50 you know how there's like a drain that goes along your you know the the non cliff side you'll have like a drain right you know where water comes down so it kind of dips down before it goes up and so if we were to have panicked you know it could have either gone off the cliff or into the ditch you know into that little ditch but literally it was one step onto the road then the next step which was right about where my boyfriend was passenger-wise and then one step mid
Starting point is 00:50:27 way kind of just above the ditch one more above and then only two more footsteps and it was just gone it was just it was like where the hell did the thing go but it was
Starting point is 00:50:43 the most beautiful larger than I would have ever expected it being, you know, because literally my, my forerunner was, you know, I was 5-7 and my door handle was right at my eyes to give you a height reference, you know, the handle of my truck. And so literally, as I'm looking at it, I'm literally eye to eye with it. And it just kind of just glanced at us and then just didn't even really break stride and just kept going the most beautiful creature ever I mean it that could have gone really bad you know but it did it didn't panic we didn't panic and it was just the most
Starting point is 00:51:36 we probably sat there for I don't know an hour you know looking around and and like measuring it because I could put two of my feet and I and I wear it like a seven and a half so I was able to put two of my feet in almost almost get them widthwise in its footprint in its foot track so almost two of my shoes in like the the bigger part of your footprint and then my boyfriend he had 13 and a half shoes and they were about three inches longer so I don't know what size feet that would make it we didn't have a measuring tape or anything but I don't I don't know how you measure foot size, but his shoes were 13 and a half, and we estimated it was about three inches longer than his 13.5 foot shoe. Wow.
Starting point is 00:52:33 And the stride was literally less than a hand. So I was able to put just barely my hand over the top of his head, because he laid down. down. First he tried jumping, my boyfriend, tried jumping to see if he could match his stride, you know, because he's six three. And, you know, he thought, well, you know, see how wide the street really was. And it was literally about three inches taller than he was, you know, longer than he was tall. And he had to have easily 400 pounds. It was so muscular. You know, his upper body and his thighs and his um the calf like like behind the calf there was there wasn't much hair it was like kind of smooth like it was kind of smooth a little bit on his
Starting point is 00:53:26 top of his thighs and like the top part of his arm and his and the uh the underside of his hands were real smooth real brown you know a real not like you see like gorillas are black you know there's really black this was a real brown eyes were almost almost the same color you know just a really dark brown um very big pupils I was actually going to ask about the eyes were there any whites to them at all or was it all no no white no none at all that was all that was really I found that really and that and the pupils had to have been very large the actual pupils because there was only a little bit of color you know in that the rest of it
Starting point is 00:54:29 was almost the exact same color so his his hair was a real real black like like my hair is black and in his hair was probably the same color as mine but his skin was a was a um just a real deep brown okay you know but really smooth i was surprised at how how little facial hair there was um and how like how like how how how tall his brow was it was actually really tall, but really pronounced cheekbones, but really looked like a man, but, you know, I mean, it wasn't in any way to perform a man, but the build was so, I mean, this was not a monkey, this was not an ape, this was not anything other than a big foot, you know, for it to just disappear like it did. There was no, it could have gone, you know, it's in the middle of a
Starting point is 00:55:42 clearing and there was only two more steps after the top. So literally one, two, three, four, five footsteps total. And it was just gone. No flash of light, no, no, no anything. It was just gone. No more footsteps. And there was no, it had to have gone, you know,
Starting point is 00:56:08 one of three directions, because one direction would have been coming right back us in the other three directions was probably, you know, 75 feet, you know, of, of, of, snow, which I imagine there was underbrushed, you know, underneath of it, but at two feet is pretty smooth looking, and then trees. But the footsteps were just gone. It's like, where'd it go? But the smell, the smell was so bad. We actually smelled it first, which is kind of a good thing because it had me,
Starting point is 00:56:45 and when we were kind of going around a blind corner anyway, so it was kind of a really tight switchback turn. You know, so I didn't even see it before it stepped up. You know, the first thing I saw was that first step onto the road. Literally, I think it was less than five feet. from my truck. So, I mean, it was just 10 feet from me, but 5 feet
Starting point is 00:57:16 or so, you know, from the front of my actual truck. It was just, we were just flabbergasted. And, you know, I used to spend a lot of time up there because that was my favorite pastime was going up there and, you know, four-wheeling
Starting point is 00:57:34 up there in the mountains and just wandering around and getting lost because I usually, like, I would never be able to find it again. I even tried several times, but I always get lost. Yeah. I have no directional beacon whatsoever. But, you know, it was just, uh, it's a pretty short story and that's, you know, kind of really all there was to it, but it was just for me, probably because there was no screeching, because we were in our vehicle, you know, and it, I, it just, I swear to God, it had to have put
Starting point is 00:58:08 did something to calm us because we were both because we had been laughing and joking and talking and then we were just all of a sudden just silent and stopped and watching this thing oh I know they can definitely affect
Starting point is 00:58:26 humans and animals that's for sure yeah what a what a sighting though even though you said it's a quick one, it's still a very, very cool one. And thank you for sharing that. Yeah, especially being so close.
Starting point is 00:58:44 And Brad Daylor, you know, it was probably 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Wow. You just couldn't have asked for a better, I just wish, you know, back in 96, we had the flip phones, but they didn't have very good, you know, cameras. And it was, it kind of happened too fast, even though it wasn't moving fast. Yeah, you know what I mean? Absolutely. It was just like this slow, just a step, and then another step, and then another step.
Starting point is 00:59:13 And that, you know, it was that, that slow and graceful. Very graceful. I hear that a lot where it's extremely graceful the way it moves. Yeah. Pretty cool to think about. Yeah. So thank you for letting me share because it was a really, like one of the, I, I, I, would say it's rated up there and some of my best experiences ever oh i'm sure it's for me that
Starting point is 00:59:41 would be number one oh yeah it's very yeah every big foot hunter's dream you know is to get that close you know and to have that of a perfect sighting where there is no doubt there is no question there is no is it was it could it have been because it was literally you know right there you know, it just eye to eye and it literally looked over at us, you know, glant, it literally turned its head, looked at us, and then just kind of turned its head and just kept on moving. And then the fact that it disappeared, it's like, where did it go? Wild stuff.
Starting point is 01:00:24 Well, thank you so much for sharing. I really appreciate it. Thank you for letting me come up. Have a great one. You too. If you've had a big foot encounter of your own, I would love to hear from you. you can send me an email with your encounter at bigfoot society at gmail.com.
Starting point is 01:00:39 I've come out with a free report about the top 10 Bigfoot hotspots. You can go over to bit.ly forward slash BFS report. I'm Jeremiah Byron. Thanks for listening to Bigfoot Society and I'll see you in the woods.
