Bigfoot Society - The Monsters are Waiting for You | New York

Episode Date: May 23, 2025

In this episode of Bigfoot Society, we have the privilege of hearing Randy's firsthand accounts of two separate Bigfoot encounters spanning Western New York and Northern California. Randy takes us bac...k 50 years to a snowy night in New York where a friend's terrifying encounter with three 'little Bigfoots' left an indelible mark. He also recounts a more recent experience in the 2000s in the isolated region of the Emerald Triangle in California, where Bigfoot howls echoed through the night. If you've had similar encounters or experiences, please reach out to bigfootsociety@gmail.com. Starting point is 00:01:54 All right, Bigfoot Society, we've got the privilege of talking to Randy tonight. Randy is an individual that left a comment on the YouTube channel on a recent Western New York video. And so I reached out back to him and thankfully Randy was able to come onto the show. So he's here tonight. How are you doing, sir? Well, I'm doing good. Thanks for calling me. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:02:19 It's a pleasure to talk to you tonight. Is there anything else that our listeners would need to know about you for context before we get into it? Well, let's say I'll be 64 this year. this what I'm talking about happened almost 50 years ago roughly but other than that it's clear as a bell in my mind well Randy I would say I'd say we're ready to go so feel free to take us back as far back as we need to go you saying about 50 years ago and I'm going to let you take over from here all right well as far as the setting was it was around this time of the year in January there was a lot of snow on the ground back then we used to get
Starting point is 00:02:58 anywhere from four to six feet of snow on the ground all winter long. And what we would do is we would go up to a friend of mine's barn to play hockey or basketball at night. And one night we didn't play basketball. We were watching TV at his house and on a clock at night. And Steve, the individual who just actually happened to, had to go home because of curfew. So I was going to go with them, but my brother talked me in to stay because he wanted to stay until 11 o'clock. And if I would have went home, he would have gotten trouble, and then I wouldn't.
Starting point is 00:03:38 And so this way either we both wouldn't have gotten trouble or both would have gotten trouble. So I stayed up there. So Steve leaves about 10 o'clock. And normally at the 20 minute, a half hour walk for him to get home. So we're sitting there watching the rest of the TV show. and it was about 10, 15 minutes after Steve left. Danny's mother yells up, hey, pick up the phone. Steve's on the phone.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You want to talk to you. Tell Randy and Nick, Nick's my brother, that they need to call their dad to get a ride home because there's monsters in the field and they're going to grab them. And we're like, what? What's he talking about? So Danny goes down and talks to Steve on the phone. Steve's hysterical.
Starting point is 00:04:23 He's like, how did you get home so fast? It's only 10 minutes. Usually, you know, it takes you another 15 minutes to get home. He's like, there's something in the field. There's three of them. They jumped out on the road and almost grabbed me. Tell Randy and Nick, they can't walk home to get their dad to pick them up. So we're like, yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:41 So Nick calls up my dad, and he says, Dad, you got to come pick us up. And my dad's like, yeah, okay, you guys just don't want to walk home in the snow. So he was a jokester, and he would have ribbed us. When he come pick this up, like, oh, you guys are wussies, you know, you don't want to walk through the snow. You know, you can walk home, blah, blah, blah, back then, you know, you were tough. So he came up to pick us up, and he was real straight and serious. He's no joking around.
Starting point is 00:05:11 And we're like, Dad, what's up? What's up? He goes, man, you won't believe it. Check out the tracks, I'll show you. So we get down the road, it was probably maybe a quarter mile down the road from the farmhouse. and you could see the way the field set up back then, it was a big field and it probably won a good eighth of a mile to the woods. And when my dad shined the headlights down into the field,
Starting point is 00:05:35 you could see the tracks of three individuals walking up through the snow. It's two adults and a little one. And you could see where they had jumped over to snowbank right when Steve was walking by. And I think he was just timing that he happened to walk by when they were jumping over to snowbank onto the road. But either way, when they landed on the road, they surrounded him, and you could see where his footprints were,
Starting point is 00:06:03 and you can see the footprints of the big foot. He called them Little Bigfoot, because he said they weren't, those little ones, you know, was like five, six, maybe seven, eight feet tall. They weren't really big for Bigfoot, but they were monsters, he said. And the one, the biggest one reached out and was just about ready to grab them, he got wings on his feet and he started running. And you could see his individual footprints for each step he took was 15 foot strides.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And he ran all the way home like that. That's how he got home so fast. And you can see where the three individuals followed after him for about maybe 50 feet. Then they climbed up over to Snowbank and they were heading over towards Lake Erie, which was frozen. at the time. So that's how the story went as far as what happened.
Starting point is 00:06:58 And the next day when I went to school, I rode the school bus extra and I went up in the daytime and you can see the tracks coming out of the woods and the snow coming over and you can see everything happening still in the
Starting point is 00:07:14 snow and on the road and stuff. And it stayed like that probably for, I don't know, maybe a couple of days to the snow filled in again. But where they came out of there was a big swampy area and I think to this day it's still inaccessible as far as the swamp goes. And they were coming up out of the valley down, which 240 runs through, which will take you all the way into Pennsylvania, pretty much Allegheny State Park area. And I think they were walking up the railroad track, which is abandoned now.
Starting point is 00:07:48 and when they got up to that area they crossed up over the hill we're going to go over east hill and this happened on cold road and cold and they were going to go across east hill down into the valley up brown hill and when you go over brown hill and before you get to lake erie that's eden and from what i hear there's a lot of sightings going on in eden right now so pretty much that's that's about it for what happened there except for I saw Steve 50 years ago before he passed away last year and I happened to mention it to him I said hey Steve you remembered a little big foot and when I said that to him he turned white as a ghost and started shaking and I said oh sorry Steve I didn't mean to scare you but we're the only ones that are alive because it was at my brother's funeral
Starting point is 00:08:44 and he had passed away my dad was gone I don't know if Danny's still around but He wasn't there to see the actual footprints that night. So I said, everybody's gone. You know, you weren't the only ones left. That really happened, didn't? He goes, yeah, that happened. I said, well, I talk about this story every once in a while. I'll say my Bigfoot encountered.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And he goes, I never told us so in over 50 years. He goes, it scared the crap out of me. I don't like thinking about it. And that's pretty much the after of this story. Thank you, Randy. That's a wild account. You know, it's so interesting how accounts are coming out of the woodwork about this western New York area. Why do you think there's so many sightings in this area of the state? Well, I think the Allegheny Park has a lot to do with it because that's a very big area in itself. And you have the valleys that come up. And like I said, when the lake freezes, they can walk right across the lake area into Canada. And I think that's what they're doing, hanging out, waiting for the lake to freeze.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Oh, okay. Okay. So that's actually something I was going to ask you. So they could literally just, if it was frozen, they could walk right over into Ontario. Right. A friend of mine that lived in South Buffalo, when freezer queen was up, they told me that the timber wolf used to run across the lake. and they would raid the dumpsters at freezer queen from Canada. So if the timber wolves can do that, the big footputs can do the same thing.
Starting point is 00:10:27 That's a great point. I mean, it's like just go over for a buffet from the dumpsters. And there you go. If you look, I think, I'm not sure. I think it's Point Peter or something like that on the Canada side. But anyhow, that's like the narrowest point of the lake right there from Eden and Canada. if you look on the map, it's not very wide right there.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And it's also shallower there, too, I think. Okay. So that would be like a perfect spot for them to cross. Absolutely. From what you remember of these tracks, were the tracks that you saw, were, remember the,
Starting point is 00:11:04 try to remember the two footmarks. Were they next to each other, or were they in a straight line, or how are they walking? All right. The snow that they were walking through was, I would say, four foot deep. And they walked through that like nothing. And I think they were holding on to the younger one's hand to help them get through or her,
Starting point is 00:11:30 whatever one it was. But they had, it was a, I mean, it looked like train tracks as far as how straight they were. They were just, it's straight, perfectly straight lines coming up out of it. So you really couldn't see individual as far as the footprints, but you could see where they were walking through, and it was upright. It was like a person walking through the snow. And that time of the year, the bears would be hibernating. And I know what deer looked like running through the snow or why,
Starting point is 00:12:02 and there's no way it was deer tracks. You said this is about 50 years ago, so this puts it about 1974-ish. Right. It was right. See, we had a major blizzard in 77, and I think it was like right before that happened, 74 to 77 in between that area. Interesting. Around that time period, were there also other accounts of people seeing something that might have been similar to these monsters that Steve saw? Well, what was weird is I was talking to a friend of mine just the other day and we were discussing about how I was going to be talking to you. And he brought up how where I was telling you the swamp is and where that one field is on top of the hill. Well, if you go through the woods and come out down on the other side of the woods before Lower East Hill Road through the horse ranch there.
Starting point is 00:13:08 and the people that owned it, you know, that property goes right up, and, you know, their fields go right up into the woods, and if you keep going straight, you'd come out in the other field where the big foot come out of. But anyhow, they had problems with somebody or something throwing rocks and branches at their house one summer. And they were blaming it on the neighborhood kids. And I think there might even be police reports on that.
Starting point is 00:13:38 That's very interesting. But they never found out what it was. And it wasn't until he brought it up. And he goes, yeah, remember how they were having trouble and they were blaming me for throwing the stones at their house? I said, yeah, that was about the time the bigfoot's were up there. I wonder if that's what was going on if they were hanging out and throwing the rocks at their house. Okay, and this is all in Colden, New York. Yeah, yeah, cold and yeah, up on East Hill.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Did Steve ever describe what they looked like? He just said they weren't tall, but they looked like Bigfoot. And it was a dark, so he couldn't really give out a collar. But, yeah, he didn't really go into any descriptions with me as far as that goes. Now, in that time, mid-70s, when you would have heard Bigfoot, what was it that you had in your mind at that time. Are there certain movies you saw, certain TV shows? Well, about that time, the famous was the Patterson, is that the name of it?
Starting point is 00:14:53 Patterson came on a film, yeah. Yeah, that one, I saw that one at the theaters. So that kind of like, you know, spark, you know, the big foot as far as getting you aware of something out there. But other than that, there really wasn't, you know, nobody really thought about it. Like I said, with the sticks and the stones and all that, nobody put it together that it could have been them throwing the stuff at them. You know, I didn't even really think about it until just recently that, hey, maybe because it was the same time period.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Sure. So you had seen now, I know some people when they went to the theaters, like it would be shown before movies in little, like, clip reels. Is that kind of how you saw it? Yeah, yeah. We went to see a major attraction. and one of the reasons we want to see the major attraction was to see the Bigfoot movie. It was only like, I can't remember maybe five or ten minutes long.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Oh, that's incredible. So, like, it was hyped up that, hey, there's a Bigfoot film. It's going to be shown, but you got to see this movie to see it. That's pretty cool. How far? Yeah, yeah. Go ahead. Oh, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:16:02 I was going to say that. It was like the very first time that it was ever publicly aired. interesting how long before this incident where Steve saw the monsters how much of a time frame between you guys seeing that in the theater and then Steve having the sighting of the three monsters I don't think he ever saw it because it was just me my brother and my other neighbor who drove us there so it was just the three of us that saw that movie at the time I don't think he ever saw it but it was about the same time in early 70s. Okay, gotcha. Interesting. And before that point, had there ever been any talk of Bigfoot in your town or anyone reading books or anything I thought?
Starting point is 00:16:56 Bigfoot Society will be right back after these messages. But I manage it well. It's a little bill with the big story to tell. I take one's daily Jardians at each day start. You can order it through DoorDash and other major delivery platforms too. That's freedom to be. as directed. The Starbucks iced tortata shaken espresso was back for the summer. Crafted with cinnamon, vanilla,
Starting point is 00:18:58 and nutty notes of toasted rice. Handshaking was smooth blonde espresso and finished with oat milk for a creamy touch. Made for summer. Only at Starbucks. We used to do a lot of horseback riding because I grew up on the farm. We had horses and cows and all that.
Starting point is 00:19:25 And the one time we were riding back in the woods, we got off the horses. the one kid that we were with, we never took him seriously, but he went down by the creek, and he's like, oh, look, I see Bigfoot tracks. And we wound up making plaster casts of them.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Whatever happened to him, I don't know, but we never took it seriously because we don't know if he took his shoe off and put him in the mud, you know what I'm saying? So we never could get to what kind of person he was. You couldn't take him seriously that way. So I don't know if he was joking with us,
Starting point is 00:20:00 if they were real or whatever happened to the plaster cast that I can't remember but that was way before that even happened because we were like little kids back then I don't know preteened oh that's interesting do you remember how long those cast approximately would have been well they were big I know that and they looked like they were bigger than what his foot was so he kept swearing he didn't make them but I would say nowadays they would probably be like a size 12 or 13 foot. Okay. And from what Steve would say,
Starting point is 00:20:39 and they weren't big, and that was about the size of the tracks that, you know, we were seeing. Like I said, you couldn't actually make out the actual, you can see they were barefoot tracks, but because of the snow, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:20:55 You couldn't like really make out a good impression because of the way the snow, it wasn't like a slushy snow at the time. Right, right. Yeah, snow is tricky because if it melts at all, the track gets weird unless there are some instances where the tracks look really good, but those are far and few between, for sure. Yeah, because in the field, what was happening as they were walking through, they were filling in behind them. You know what I mean? So the actual footprint was probably in two feet of snow.
Starting point is 00:21:25 But you could tell it was people walking through because, you know, we walked through the snow so much. could tell that it was somebody that definitely bipedal it wasn't something that was on four legs it was two-legged the way they were walking and it was definitely three of them now this area with the tracks being cast how far away from where steve had his incident was that um it was all in the same area okay i'd say within a three mile radius my goodness wow yeah because i grew up on a 150 acre farm and we butted up to the valley and where I was we had a 180 acre or 180 foot gorge running through the middle of it so it didn't get developed or logged off so all the area like I said it was all old farmland nobody did any logging back then so it was all old growth
Starting point is 00:22:24 forest a lot of farmland hayfield vegetable gardens I mean they could walk up the whole valley and eat, you know, corn all the way up or wheat, whatever, it's left in the fields, you know what I'm saying? Absolutely. There was a lot of food supply for them. And I think that's why they're hanging out and eating because that's a lot of growing out there still is going on. And I think because there's not so much growing anymore in the other areas, because the whole area around there, East Aurora Orchard Park, up on the hill there, it used to be off farmland that, you know, people, did a lot of crop growing but now it's all over in the eden area and so i thinking that's why they're concentrating over there more because of food supplies there okay have you been hearing
Starting point is 00:23:13 accounts come out of the eden area i'm on an eden facebook site and from what the locals are saying there's been a lot of reports oh really yeah i mean i from what i've been seeing at least maybe one a month or a couple every two or three months, somewhere around in there. And this is current day? Yeah, yeah, like just within months. Oh my goodness. Okay. You know, thinking back to the same time frame where Steve, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:51 encountered the monsters and all that was going on. Were there also other weird things going on in the town, like maybe things being seen in the sky or pets going missing, people hearing weird noises, anything I thought? There was rabbits and stuff going missing, but they were blaming them on bobcats. But I did a lot of hunting, and I never saw any tracks of bobcats
Starting point is 00:24:16 until, like, later years, you know, like in the 80s when they started really coming back around again. Gotcha. So I don't think they're from my one friend, he lived down by, see, there's another park up by us to, Chesnet Ridge Park and my one friend lived down on the bottom of the hill which is right at the beginning of Chessna Ridge Park and he used to get his rabbit cages raided a lot and they were
Starting point is 00:24:46 trying to blame it on bobcats but like I said we've never seen any bobcats around there so I don't know what that would have been and then dogs and dogs were missed going missing in that neighborhood too oh really like okay back then there wasn't yeah there wasn't a lot of coyotes back then either. In fact, there was hardly any. You wouldn't never see a coyote because now you could blame it on coyotes if they're missing. But back then,
Starting point is 00:25:14 there wasn't stuff like that. There was hardly any predators around back then. Are we talking like one or two dogs or was it a thing where like there were a lot of dogs being? Oh, enough to be mentioned in the local paper.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Okay, gotcha. Sure, sure. Yeah, because my dad always got You know, I think it was the Orchard Park B or something like that, but there'd always be like, oh, so-and-so reported their dog missing or they would find it mulled or something like that. You know, thinking of your early years, sorry, I don't want to skip over what I just heard. So they would find it mauled? Yeah, I think they had reports of the rabbits like being mulled, you know, like half-eatened and stuff. That's why I'm thinking if it was a cat, they probably would have dragged it with them. and I think they found a dog or two like that, mulled, like that.
Starting point is 00:26:11 And, you know, not to get maybe, all right, when you say mulled, are you saying like limbs were torn off or, or what do you mean by that? Yeah, I wouldn't, I really couldn't. I would think, you know, like the inside's eaten and stuff like that. Sure. Gotcha. You know, I guess I don't know. I was probably 12, 14 and they, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:37 trying to, you know, not give us too much information at that age, not wanting to scare us or whatever. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Around that time in the same area around that time, were there ever any things going on with, like, cows being found, messed with or mutilator or anything, I thought? No, I wouldn't say we have any problems with the livestock. Gotcha. I'm not pretty sure about the one farm. up if he was having the one dairy farmer because he was the only one who had a big real big herd up on the hill where this was taking place I mean where I was at we were probably about maybe a mile down further but we had the animals in the big big wood but we had a lot of dogs in the yard so nothing really would come in our yard because of the dog they kept it pretty you know secure yeah makes sense thinking about your earlier year were there any other times where things happened that kind of had to do with with big
Starting point is 00:27:45 foot or monsters or weird creatures in the town? No, that was the only time, you know, we kind of took it, you know, knew what happened. And, you know, nobody, as far as the school kids, we didn't, you know, say he was a liar, you know, you know, everybody would believe what he was saying. and it kind of like just gotten people's background and, you know, I thought about it and I always kept my eyes out looking for it, but I never really came across anything
Starting point is 00:28:17 as far as like that up there again. Now, some people, after they have experiences that they've been involved with like this, well, I'll ask you, do you think this affected the rest of your life in any way as you grew old? older and progress through adulthood? Well, it definitely made me a believer.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I mean, I always knew that there could be a chance, but after this, you know, it erased doubts. But I've had other encounters, too. When I was up in Northern California, I had two of them one night, hollowing back and forth for probably a good six to eight hours. Oh, Randy, you are, you're, now here we go. Here we go. I'm going to say listeners, real quick, the only thing I knew about Randy's story is that there was this situation with Steve and the monsters and the snow.
Starting point is 00:29:17 But this is very interesting. So you found your way out in Northern California. About what part was that out there? What area? Right up in, they call it the Emerald Cangle up in Humboldt County. We're up by the town of Dinsmore, up on a mountain called Buck Mountain. That sounds super familiar. We were the way this scenario went was we
Starting point is 00:29:45 a friend of mine bought the property and it was abandoned for 10 years before we got up there and it was the end of April, May, around there. Somewhere around May, I think it was when we got up there. But anyhow, when I first got up to the property, nobody was up there for 10 years. So this is my theory. The Bigfoot's weren't used to anybody being there. And so I was up there with my girl and there was the guy who owned it and another guy. Well, they got up in the morning and drove off and were gone all day.
Starting point is 00:30:35 So I'm thinking the Bigfoot heard them drive off and didn't know that me and her were still up there. So as the sun went down, the way it was set up, there was a ridge behind the cabin about maybe a quarter mile long. And on one end of it, the one was standing, and on the other end directly behind the cabin, the other one was standing.
Starting point is 00:31:04 And every time I, walked out of the cabin as the sun was going down, the one would howl very loud. Then the other one would howl back. And they would continuously do that the whole time I was outside. And this went on for a good six to eight hours. The sun went down. It was dark. We were the only ones up there.
Starting point is 00:31:28 I think we intruded on them because they weren't aware that. And the thing is, when I, found out that the Peterson film was filmed in the valley down below from where we were staying. So, but anyhow, they sat there and howled back and forth and back and forth. And they were all of a sudden howling up a racket. And they were going just crazy after, like I said, a good six. So let's see, it started when the sun was going down, which would have been about maybe eight o'clock. one two o'clock in the morning was when the two guys came back as they were driving up the mountain dirt road
Starting point is 00:32:11 they heard them far off and they started a racket back and forth back and forth back and forth right up until they pulled up to the gate unlocked the gate and started pulling down the driveway into where the cabin was as soon as that happened it was dead quiet when you were hearing these screams and yells, were you actually able to see them as well? No, it scared me. I would go in the house and the girl I was with, she was like, what's going on? What's going on? I said, you don't want to know.
Starting point is 00:32:47 I didn't want to tell her because she would have wanted to leave, you know, the next morning. So I didn't want to get her that scared. But every time I walked out, they just went great. And the thing is, if I would have thought about it, see, I didn't find out there was a ridge up until like weeks later. If I would have known that, I would have went up looking for tracks. But I didn't know of that. I thought it was just, you know, wood, woods and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:33:11 But then I found out that there was actually like a logging road up there on that ridge. And so the one was standing at one end and the other one was standing at the other end. And we stayed up there for probably about two months. And that was the only time that that happened was the first night we were there. but a friend of mine went up there and was staying up there and he wound up staying all summer long and he said every time he was up there by himself they would do that big for society will be right back after these messages but i manage it well it's a little bill with the big story to tell i take one's daily

The Starbucks iced tortata shaken espresso was back for the summer. Crafted with cinnamon, vanilla, and nutty notes of toasted rice. Handshaking was smooth blonde espresso and finished with oat milk for a creamy touch.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Made for summer. Only at Starbucks. My goodness. Wow. Yeah, but unfortunately, he passed away last year or two. We're all getting up in the area. but because he was telling me, because I told them what happened to me, and I told them what they were. And he goes, that's what they are? I said, yeah, oh, they were trying to tell me they were this and they were that. And I said, Kevin, think about it. Listen to how big of a lung them things must have had to have to make the sound.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I go, you heard, you grew up on a farm, you've heard bulls bellow. That was louder than a bull bellowing. You know, that was no bear. it was something with a big huge set of lungs. That is so, so, so very interesting. What approximate year would this have been that you were up there? I was up there was, I think, like 2006. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:36:53 And he was up there for probably from that time to like maybe 2010 or so. And he said every time he was up there and they would leave him up there by himself, he would hear him. Is it a thing that you would hear other accounts from people you knew in the same area, not just on this Buck Mountain area, but also in other areas around Dinsmore? Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet too many people. I was out there to really start talking about that. But me and my girlfriend had a joke every time we were leaving the mountain. Keep the camera ready.
Starting point is 00:37:32 We're going to see a big foot. You know, we'd always be looking, but we never saw anything. but we were always on the lookout for them. Oh, wow. Yeah, that's absolutely incredible. Up in that area, were there any other weird things that happened or things that just didn't really make sense? Like I said, I didn't really get a chance to stay up there that long,
Starting point is 00:37:52 you know, to get that acclimated to it. So that was just my only experience I had with them at the time. You know, I wish I could have got more stories out of Kevin, but, you know, he just told me that he had, he had the same experience and it was the same scenario where they would stand on the ridge and one would stand on one end and one would stand on the other and they would bellow at night from when the sun went down to like about midnight the sound that you heard have you ever heard anything else like it in your life only only on a recording of a big foot
Starting point is 00:38:32 uh documentary that said this is a big foot recording i've never heard any other animal make that noise. Do you remember what documentary? Sorry. No, I can't remember, but it's like every time, I've heard it through, you know, multiple documentaries, you know, I wouldn't say a lot, but I've heard it. And it's like, that's what I heard in California. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:56 That's Bigfoot. Wow. Can you kind of walk us through? I see that there's a road that runs through Dinsmore and you've got a store down there and how hard and how long did it take to get up to where this area was that you would be hanging out at the road that we would go down but i from what i was told i was the first person to drive up it because there's a part of the mountain that sticks out that you got to kind of pretty much launch yourself off and hope you land flat on the top of it so nobody likes going up it but
Starting point is 00:39:35 that's called Burr Mountain Road, but you go through the national forest. So if you can find that Burr Road or Burr Mountain Road, that takes us up to the top of the mountain, but you would get, because there's another one down, I can't remember the name of the road, but it's closer to, to see, there was a store called the Dinsmore Store. Right. And if you come, if you start at the Densmore store and head, I think it would be south back towards into Humboldt County, not up towards that other county I was telling you about. I can't remember the name. But if you head back that way, the first road you come to on the right will take you up to the top of the mountain.
Starting point is 00:40:25 But that takes you into either forest federal land or state land. I think there's like a parking area that you can park there, but if you you can drive all the way through that, and we used to go through that forest land, and then we'd get on the other side and you'd be in private land, and you'd go like down the valley, up the valley, up around, and down and up. Where we were at, I don't think there was too many more camps above us, but it wasn't too much. I mean, the next, you would go down the valley, and when you come up, the next one was the tree line for Buck Mountain. So like after our valley, after our where we were, if you went down the next valley and up. And also there was three rivers that came together there. And I was told that back when the Indians were in control of the land before the white man came around, there was a big battle for control of that point right there.
Starting point is 00:41:29 And if you go up on that where that field is, you can still see the artifacts from that battlefield, all this, you know, the stone weaponry and stuff. Oh, wow. So. But from where that point is, though, if you're standing on that point, there's three, two rivers come down and merge into one that go into the Pacific.
Starting point is 00:41:52 And one of them rivers that come down there, was the one that they filmed the Patterson video on. Okay, interesting. And that was on the back side of where we were at. Okay. So would you say from what you remember, did it take like an hour to get up there? Oh, at least.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yeah. Yeah, I would say at least an hour, maybe two. because I know we would I would have to go try to find doctors and stuff like that and we'd have to go to Reading which was the closest town and it would take us six hours
Starting point is 00:42:37 just to get there so we would get up and leave at like 4 in the morning just to get to Reading at like 10, 11 o'clock that's wild so I asked that pretty much to see the chances of it
Starting point is 00:42:54 being a person that was coming up there to pranky guys is pretty low. No one's just going to get up there. There's nobody here. Nobody, nobody knew we were there either. Yeah, because it was an abandoned property for 10 years. Exactly. Oh, my goodness. That must have been nuts up there.
Starting point is 00:43:14 Even the big, even the big puts didn't know we were there. So they saw me walking around. I'll never forget that. Boy, when he first started screaming. how long like let's say from what you remember when it would start screaming how long could it draw out a single scream for oh i would say 30 seconds a minute maybe longer i mean as long as it wanted to really it would let out a big long bellow and then within i'd say a minute or two the other one would let out another bellow and then they would probably calm down for you know a couple
Starting point is 00:43:57 minutes and then the next then he'd go again and rher and rar back and forth the whole time I'd be outside but I was out there five minutes ten minutes 20 minutes you know however many times they would do it I don't know I never counted it right did did hearing that or being in in close proximity to that did that affect you physically or emotionally or in any way when you were in that
Starting point is 00:44:25 situation Well, it was scary, but I wasn't like, I didn't feel endangered or, you know, I didn't feel my life was threatened or anything. And the thing was, they were stationary. They weren't, you know, they weren't like moving. They were in the same spot the whole time for them six or eight hours, however long it was. They never moved.
Starting point is 00:44:49 So if they were, you know, if they were going to do anything threatening, they would have been getting closer and I don't even think they would have made noise like that. Right. I think they were more scared with themselves and just, like, confused as what I'm thinking. And they probably thought by doing that, they would get us to leave. But we had no way to leave. And so. But when I would go in the house, they would stop.
Starting point is 00:45:20 And it's wild that this happened around 2006. That's the crazy part about it to me is that it is, I mean, it's not, I guess it's not super recent, but I mean, kind of recent, right? I mean, it's not like this is a 1970s account. This is 2006, which is wild. Yeah, I have an even recent or one, but unfortunately, I can't share it with you because the person who it involved doesn't want me to disclose it, but that happened within three years. Oh, wow. Wow, that's, that's, that's wild stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:54 I'll try to get it out. I'll try to get it out of her, but she just doesn't want people digging around her house and, you know, investigating it. That's the problem. No, and I get it, but if she ever does get to the point where she wants to share what's going on, you know, she always, she can always reach out. I'm sure you can provide, you can always pass on my email address and all that good stuff. Yeah, I talked to her right before, or this evening, we told her what was going on. I was like, he's sure? She's like, no, no.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Like, oh, okay, but she goes, call me up, let me know how it turned out. I think she just wanted to see if I'm getting scammed or something like that. Yeah. That a lot of people, yeah, I mean, and rightfully so, because, you know, most people, they share these stories and they end up, you know, people are laughing at them or making fun at them, making fun of them, and it's not a normal thing. That's what happened with her. She tried to disclose it, and right away she got shut down, so she doesn't, yeah, she doesn't
Starting point is 00:47:00 want to do anything now, unfortunately. Yeah, yeah, that's why it's important that there's a place like, you know, this show and a few other shows where people can, can share what they've experienced and not have to worry about, you know, being made fun of and things like that. Now, another thing that I wanted to ask you is just to make sure sometimes when people are experiencing things like this, then other weird things will happen in their lives that are not Bigfoot related, but they might be considered more, you know, paranormal or things that really don't make sense. Is that the case with yourself, Randy? You want to hear stories.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Oh, right. No, I grew up in a farmhouse that was built in the 1830s, and it was haunted. And the last time I was able to live up there for any amount. of time I had quite a bit of well I had an actual encounter and then over the years I've had other encounters too as far as hearing weird things oh I don't know if you want that was a new york or yeah yeah that's in the same area where the incident which Steve happened that's when where I grew up on coal road okay and where we grew up it's considered orchard park but we were the last house in Orchard Park before you got into Colton.
Starting point is 00:48:27 So we were up on the hill, but it was still considered Orchard Park, but it was farmland back then. But like I said, I grew up in the old farmhouse and it had a lot of history. It used to be a stagecoach stop between Rochester and Buffalo. They would come from Rochester. They would stop there overnight before they went into Buffalo, and then in the morning, they would go from there to Buffalo. But my dad,
Starting point is 00:48:54 he got Alzheimer's, and when he got Alzheimer's, he started channeling a lot of spirits. And we bought the, my dad and my mother bought the place in the 60s. And when we first moved in, they bought it from old people, and they must have channeled in the spirits because there was a lot of activity going on when we first moved in, but I was real little, so I don't remember much of what happened back then. but my mother had the house exercise blessed more than once and had the priest walk around it with the holy water and had to try to get it calmed down and that seemed to help but when my dad got sick he started channeling in the spirits and he used to see my grandfather and grandmother all the time
Starting point is 00:49:43 and they used to walk around the house with them but my brother he got back into the picture and he was terminal and so they both were channeling in the spirits and my brother said he used to see a tall a tall guy in a brown suit standing at the foot of the bed looking at him all the time my dad said he's seen him too and my experience is the one i think can recall good there's a couple but one i recall good is i was up there by myself working because i used to you know do work on the farm and that and dad and Nick they had doctor's appointments so they were going
Starting point is 00:50:25 at the doctor so I was the only one there so I'm working down in the basement and I hear the front door open close footsteps, tables moving the chairs and that and people sitting down and I'm like oh Nick and bad are home
Starting point is 00:50:41 all right so I continue working about another five ten minutes and I go out, walk in, looking in the driveway and I'm the only one in the house. There's nobody there. So whatever, I didn't go upstairs,
Starting point is 00:50:56 and I just kept on working outside. Probably a good call. But the one, the one that really gets me the most is, like that, that was probably, geez, I would say like in the 90s,
Starting point is 00:51:12 that probably happened. But the one that happened, the most recent was the last time I was up there, it was probably around, I'd say 2010, maybe, somewhere like that. But anyhow, I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:51:29 And when I walked, the way the house was set up upstairs, there was a hallway with bedrooms off to the side. So I was walking down the hallway to the bathroom at the end of the hallway. And when I got into the doorway at the end of the hallway, the ghost was trying to walk out the door. doorway as I was walking in and we walked into each other.
Starting point is 00:51:54 I'll never forget. I felt it hit my chest. And when it hit my chest, I opened my eyes and I seen something white. And the way that the bathroom was set up is when you'd walk in, it was a rectangle shape. And so like the doorway was on the left end of the rectangle. And so if you look to the right, that's how it opened up. And there was a long counter with the sink on it. And then at the end of the sink on the wall that you would look at, there was a window, and that was cracked about two inches.
Starting point is 00:52:27 And then when you walk in, if you look at the next wall facing you, that's where the tub was. And there was another window there. So this thing hit me in the chest. It jumped up onto the counter, and there was towels and paper on there. And it ran across there, and they all started rustling. They tried to jump out the window. and it hit the window. I can remember here going to bong,
Starting point is 00:52:53 and it couldn't get out the window. And so it ran around on the wall and it tried to get out the window where the tub was, and that was closed, and it couldn't. And the shower curtains and the curtain on the windows were all wrestling. And so it come around again,
Starting point is 00:53:09 now this is all about maybe four feet off the ground, and all I could see is this white streak going around. And so it come around again, and it hit me in the chest. and it did this three times faster than I can say it. And on the third time, it got to the end of the counter where the window was, and it jumped up, and it made it through the cracks, and it went up, and we were remodeling the house at the time,
Starting point is 00:53:34 and so the sop it was tore open right there. And there was a hole there, and it jumped up there into the attic. And I said, well, I'm not doing to the bathroom. I turned around and went back, and my girlfriend was staying with me, and she's like, I thought you're going to the bathroom. I said, you don't want to know. No, you're right. Don't tell me.
Starting point is 00:53:57 Right. Oh, my goodness. Wow. Well, thank you for sharing that as well, Randy. But the history of the house is, like I said, it used to be the stagecoach staff. Right. And it also was a funeral parlor. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:54:15 And they would lay out people, they would lay out people in the living room. Because up the road, not even an eighth mile up the road, there's a pioneer cemetery. And on the other side of the road, there used to be a church, but the church burned down. The cemetery's still there. The cemetery is haunted. I've had haunted experiences in the cemetery. But what they would do is there was a special door they had on the side of the house that they would take the caskets out during the funeral. And when my dad moved up, when we first moved up there, my dad and my uncles, they boarded up that door and closed it up so nobody could use it again.
Starting point is 00:54:57 So that has a lot to do with the spirits, I think, too, is because of the way the funerals were being held there. But like I said, the cemetery, which isn't even that far down the road, is haunted. And that place there, like I said, I got some stories on that. There was one time we were four wheeling, and we had a dirt trail that went by the cemetery. So we were coming up out of the woods, and it was dark, and it was in the fall, so all the leaves were off the trees. And in the bushes in the cemetery, the light on the truck shined on a white rose in the middle of these bushes. So the guy driving the truck, he was the same one who took me and my brother to see the Bigfoot movie. It was right around that same time too.
Starting point is 00:55:52 He goes, oh, wow, look at that white rose. I'm going to go out and pick it. So he stops the truck, he jumps out, and he goes to pick it. As he's reaching for the rose, the bushes start shaking, and the rose turns into a wisp of dust or smoke and disappears. He jumped in the truck, and we took off his face. as we could go. Well, that is, so it just disappeared into just kind of, well, it's out of it. Yeah, just like, yeah, like it was a cloud, but it was a rose, a white rose.
Starting point is 00:56:29 Oh, yeah. But it was weird because, like I said, there was no vegetation. We weren't taking it. We were, you know, young, like, oh, I'm going to go pick that rose. It's like, well, what's the rose doing, growing now anyhow? Yeah, that was really weird. And then the thing was, that was in the area where the infants were buried because they had a one corner where they had all the babies buried.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Oh, sure. Yeah. Yeah, that's, oh, man, just some. But, you know, personally, I stick with the, I stick with the Bigfoot stuff because that, that other stuff can get, you know, pretty wild. Bigfoot's wild enough for me. Yeah, yeah, I don't like thinking about it. I live by myself, I don't like to think of the spirits because they, they found me too easy.
Starting point is 00:57:08 It feels like you have had some really interesting connections to things over the years, Randy, for sure. Yeah, I feel fortunate and blessed. I mean, I've experienced a lot of things. I tell people's stories and I just like, how can you make stuff like this up? You know, I don't have that good of an imagination. I wish I did.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Because I'm not making it up. I mean, this sounds pretty legit to me. But Randy, thank you so much for coming on the show. I appreciate it. I work on the other one there and maybe we can get you some pictures sent. Yes, sir. And then you can see what I was talking about. them footprints in the snow.
Starting point is 00:57:46 She's got pictures of her in mud, but it's identical. And this one, there's two big ones and three little ones running around. Oh, wow. The identical tracks. Identical. The adults walk on the outside,
Starting point is 00:58:02 and the little ones walk on the inside. So that's how they travel. Interesting stuff. And yeah, feel free to reach out at a later time if this individual feels like they're able to come forward. Always an open invitation. So pleasure talking to you tonight, sir.
