Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Bigfoot Society and I'm Jeremiah Byron. In this show, we go beyond the campfire stories to bring you first-hand encounters from people who say they've seen something impossible. From backwoods trails and remote mountain haulers to quiet farms and crowded highways, the stories come from everywhere, and each one leaves us with more questions than answers. These are the voices of the people who've lived it. So settle in because today you'll hear another account that just might change the way you see the woods forever. So stay with us. Please keep Jeremiah in your prayers as he continues his fight against cancer. For more updates about his medical journey, please go to the Caring Bridge link in the show notes.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Thank you. Hey, everybody. Ronnie LeBlank here. Thanks so much for listening to the Bigfoot Society podcast with Jeremiah. It's podcasts like this that really bring awareness, connect everybody, experiences, educate people that are just getting into this subject matter. And as you go down the rabbit hole, it gets more interesting as you go. And with that being said, I just launched a Kickstarter.
Starting point is 00:01:11 And I need your support, your help, whether it's sharing, whether it's pledging, whether it's letting other people know that this is going to happen. My latest book, Interdimensional Consciousness, Cryptids, and the Hidden Architecture of Reality is becoming a documentary. I'm working alongside Dr. Jim Segalah, who's worked with such luminaries as Dr. Hal Putoff and others. We also have a amazing AI company that is on board that is partnered to help us in the search and the connection between UFOs, Bigfoot, consciousness, and a lot of unexplained phenomena. So we're really excited about this project. If you can, go to Kickstarter, do a search for Interdimensional and support us.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Thanks again for listening to the Bigfoot Society podcast. Enjoy. Hey, Tray. How are you? Can you hear me? Yes. How are you doing today? I'm doing good.
Starting point is 00:02:11 What about two? Doing great. Feel free to share what your experience was, third trip. So growing up, my family, we always believed in Bigfoot, right? growing up in North Alabama. Uh-huh. And I remember one time we were a hunting a big foot. We could hear it.
Starting point is 00:02:34 We were close. And this rock comes flying, like this big old rock. No dude could hurt this rock this farm this hard comes flying at my head. It was like an inch away from my head. Horrifying. My goodness. Yes, and this Bigfoot, like, you could hear howling and growling. It was horrible.
Starting point is 00:03:05 And I remember one time we were back at my house. And, uh, dude, we were out there chilling by the pool and then a, on everything, Bigfoot comes up. All right. And he, uh, we were chilling. We had our dogs out there. where this dog name was Margo we ain't got
Starting point is 00:03:34 them no more the Bigfoot Bigfoot took him yeah we were out there it grabbed him grabbed two beers and ran in the woods Okay So I have a few questions
Starting point is 00:03:55 So what kind of beers were they Mickey's McAlobultris So why were you hunting bigfoot? Because we've always believed in them. And we've always been firm believers ever since my granddaddy was a firm believer as well.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Got my dad into it and my dad got me into it. So you've been generations of bigfoot hunters is what it sounds like. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Have you ever been successful? We ain't been successful, but we've been close, real close.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Are you up by the, what is it? Northern Alabama would be Bankhead National Forest. Yeah, we're near there, very close there, like an hour away. Okay. Have you heard of any other things, people having experiences up there? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. My cousin was walking outside and he came across these giant marks on a tree, like scratching on a tree. It ain't no bear did this. Ain't no bear did this.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Nah. And there were limbs everywhere. It was crazy. Interesting. Well, Tripp, I appreciate you coming up. I hope that you are safe where you're at, but I also hope that Bigfoot is safe too. So maybe you guys can come to an understanding. We weren't actually like hunting, hunting him.
Starting point is 00:05:32 We were like, when I met hunt, I mean, like we were tracking him. Oh, okay. Okay, very good. Yeah. Yeah, very good. Interesting creatures, man. I mean, they like, they can almost articulate words if you're close in us. Have you heard what sounds like language before?
Starting point is 00:05:55 Yeah. I swear. And I know it was like gibberish. One of them sounded like they was speaking some Vietnamese or something because it was like five. It was like fast-paced words with a lot of broken up. What do you think Bigfoot is? Do you have any thoughts about that from probably even talking to your father and your grandfather about it? Well, Bigfoot is more than the big old AP is.
Starting point is 00:06:26 He's a legend and something to be respected and loved. And he's in, he's nature as well. he's the perfect representation of nature i like that i like that i like that trip trip thank you so much for coming up uh please keep us in mind if you ever have any other interactions in the future we'd love to hear about it okay yes sir thank you well there you go i was a little nervous at first about trip when he said that but it looks like looks like he's actually on the good side. So there you go. Thank you, Tripp.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Howdy, how you doing today? Hey there, hound. I'm doing well. Thanks for coming up. Feel free to take it away there, hound, and share what your experience was. So it was back in the, it was in August of 2018 in central Utah. There's a national forest there called Fish Lake National Forest. We own about 1,200 acres up there property.
Starting point is 00:07:37 and we run dogs for bear and mountain lion run dogs and uh there's a place up there called pine hollow and it's this deep nasty canyon and we were hunting all morning didn't get anything going so i walked down in this canyon with these dogs to try and find a bear i'm down in there i find a nice bear track dogs take off and when i say it takes everything you have to get these dogs off a scent Like you have to yell at them, call them, tone their callers. It takes so much to get these dogs off a scent. They go about 800 yards into this thicket. And all of a sudden, they stop barking, stop everything and come right back to me.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I got dogs in between my legs, hiding behind me, not wanting to go anywhere. And except for one dog, one dog is still out there. And he's sitting in this thicket and I hear them barking. And I'm thinking, oh, they got that bear bait up in that thicket. So I go over there and I get about probably 80 to 100 yards from that thicket. And this black thing comes busting out of there. He's probably eight foot tall. And it was just amazing how fast he was.
Starting point is 00:08:52 How he, like, you know, when you run, a person runs how, like, they kind of bounce. This thing didn't bounce. It, like, was like it was on a treadmill gliding across the ground up this steep hillside. and it just was a crazy, crazy experience. And I'd always watched the show Fine and Bigfoot, but I never believed. And it put the fear of God in me and made me believe. Goodness. Have you ever been back to that area?
Starting point is 00:09:28 Yeah, I go there a lot. It's our main hunting area. And it's on our property. Right. That's true. Good point. And I think there is a group of them living there because there's a lot of other weird things that happen. Well, I was just going to ask you, there's got to be other stuff you've noticed that that lead you to believe there's stuff going on as well.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Yeah. So, like, we'll go up the road. Like, we start hunting at like 5.30 in the morning. We'll go up the road. And when we come back, there'll be trees that are about probably as wide as like a thigh of a human and an X across the road. So we'll go up. They won't be there. We'll come down and they're there. Yep. And also you'll be hiking down these like elk are big animals and they leave big trails. And so we follow the elk trails because it's the path of least resistance and it's easier to walk through these woods like that. And hanging over the top of these elk trails, you'll find big X formations.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Okay. Oh, very interesting. Are you the only one that's had a siting on that property? No, sir. My sisters have. Their siting was up against the house. Really? Okay. So how close to the house? Like, so we got two bulldogs and they were having a slum party with her. She plays softball, so her whole entire softball team was out there that day.
Starting point is 00:11:06 And so they're in the back pasture, playing softball, everything like that. And my parents were out of town that week, so I was taking, care of my siblings and it's about probably 2.30 in the morning and my sister comes into my room and she's like hey did you let the bulldogs out i'm like no what do you mean why are you asking that they're like outside the area of my room we're hearing like you know when a bulldog breathes it sounds weird because our face is so smashed in yep it's like that that like hard like they're suffocating themselves And so I was like, no, they're not out. And she's like, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Just must be the hounds or something like that. I'm like, yeah, okay. And then I guess they, the girls like heard it again. And they like double dog dare my sister go out there and see what it was. And she says like, it's just this big black figure was standing against the wall where her room was. And she was like, it was almost like it was putting its ear against the wall listening to us. Oh my goodness. that's that's some scary stuff dude how old were they they were 12 and 13 at the time it was the 12 to
Starting point is 00:12:22 get out age group and they came running in my room and they didn't know what it was at all all they saw it was dark out so all they saw was a human figure so they came in yelling in my room going there's a man outside our window there's a man outside our room so i run out there thinking there's some freaking purve over there and it was gone and i was gone and i was was out there within 15 seconds from when they saw it and it was gone. Oh my goodness. So did you see anything out there that would tell you, yeah, there was something standing there? There was kind of like on the wall where she said it was leaning up against.
Starting point is 00:13:05 There was like a greasy, greasy slickness to it. Like, you know when your hair gets greasy and you rub your hair, how it gets on your fingers and stuff? Oh, yeah. It was like there was like a grease slick from where it had been leaning up against the wall or something. Okay, gotcha. So any tracks or indentations you could see in the ground? No, up in that area, it's a lot of dust and hard, it's like a lot of hard clay. So unless it rains, you get nothing in the ground.
Starting point is 00:13:39 It's solid, hard ground until you get a little bit of rain and then it's good mud. So then my question is the people that, so you and your sister have had experiences, have you then had conversations with, if like, and your parents at the time? And how was that conversation had? They, I talked to him about it and they, they, they, they believe me, but they can't say. And they, they're not calling me a liar. They're not calling my sister a liar because they know that they know we saw something, but they just don't, they can't put a, they, they themselves can't put a name to it yet. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Gotcha. So they, they, they, it wasn't a thing where like, you told them and they were like, oh, yeah, we totally know about this. This has happened for years. Grandpa knows about it, et cetera, et cetera. Like, they're just kind of, so we're, so we actually are the first owners of this property. We bought it off a guy we don't know. Got it.
Starting point is 00:14:47 So I and we've only owned it for two years. Oh, interesting. Have you talked to the neighbors surrounding neighbors at all? Do you have any? Yeah, I, I've talked to them and one of the surrounding neighbors is actually my uncle. And he's told me accounts from when he was a boy of sneaking out of his house and going out on horseback and stuff like that with his buddies and them having rocks and stuff thrown at them. Okay. And like, I know a lot of people don't like them, the BFRO.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I know a lot of people don't like them. But I went on their website and looked and there is a quite big cluster of sightings in the Fish Lake National Forest. Really? That is actually really interesting because you were the first person I've ever talked to from central Utah. I don't know if this is considered central Utah, but it kind of looks like it. So that's good to know that there's a lot of other things being documented around this area. Because, yeah, like Utah, it's a high mountain desert. There is a lot of open land, sagebrush, but this Fish Lake National Forest is high mountain, pine, quaky,
Starting point is 00:16:00 quakey aspens, big ponderosa pine, thick timber mountains is this area. Okay. What's the elevation up there? Where the property is or like the highest point on that mountain? Like the property. I'm just curious. The property is at six. 650,500 feet.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Oh, that's like perfect, dude. Yeah, that's like, that's it, uh, from what I know for like, you know, big foot. Elevation, they like certain elevations for sure. Oh, my goodness. Um, so you guys freaked out living on a property like that with activity or how are you guys handling it? I'm not just because I've never heard a story about a big foot being aggressive to people. I, I haven't. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:46 And, like, I don't want them, like, we run cattle, and it's like, we've had some calves go missing and stuff, but it's like, I've, and I've talked to other podcasts, I was on Sasquatch Chronicles. Oh, for sure. Cool. That's awesome, dude. I was on Sasquatch Chronicles. I was on Midnight Monster Files. Okay. That's another TikTok live stream. Oh, nice. Cool. I was asking them like, I don't want to get rid of them. I just want to keep them off our land or where are we keep our cattle because like every time they take or I can't blame it on them, but these are 300 pound cows going and never being seen again. No blood, no nothing.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Oh, boy. Okay. So you're not even seen like bodies aren't even showing up. They're just totally disappearing. Yeah. No blood, no nothing. And it's like you get one killed by a lion or a coyote. It's bloody.
Starting point is 00:17:52 You find them, everything like that. But these ones are just gone. Okay. Are there other weird things happening on the property? Well, we'll just leave it at that. There's strange things. So I don't know if you would have counted to this, but this is Native American land where we are. Like, we find arrowheads.
Starting point is 00:18:13 We find pet your glyphs all over our property. Really? that's super interesting okay and so um do you ever see lights in the woods in the woods stuff like that not like not tree level like in the woods in the woods but like right above tree level sitting like 30 40 feet in the air what shape are they uh the ones i've been seeing now are like almost like an egg yep okay uh size of them probably just about the size of a normal person's head. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Okay. Wow. That's really, really wild. Are you... Okay, so you're not leaving food outside for them or anything, right? Oh, no. Okay, good. Are you finding stuff outside, like, unalived animals or weird objects?
Starting point is 00:19:14 Anything I was going to say, speaking of that, like... Yeah. So we have... we have a I don't know it's like a barn almost like it's not even really a barn it's like a shed and we have two deep freezes in there because every year we put uh we get since we own run our own own cattle we always kill a cow a year for ourselves so we have these two deep freezers that are just filled with beef and one day we went into the barn and like these and we have padlocks on them because we have raccoons and raccoons are smart enough to get their fingers underneath the latch and they'll
Starting point is 00:19:47 open your so we have these two giant padlocks on so they can't open it and these we went in there one day and these two deep freezers were like on the floor on the opposite side of the building from where we left um and we accounted it to a bear but i don't know oh my goodness so they're you think they're trying to get in and get get that food probably maybe that's what i'm thinking yeah and like we've also and speaking about dead animals like there's There's a bunch of stray cats around there. We have found like stray cats with like no sign of injury just dead and then sitting like on a branch in the tree.
Starting point is 00:20:33 So their necks aren't broken or anything? They don't look like they're ringed out. Well, I've never like I've never checked their neck but like I assume that when they're dead and you grab them their neck flops over it's because they're dead but maybe it's because their neck's broken. Yeah. Yeah. That's a tricky deal because it's kind of like you don't really want to mess with a dead cat, but I get it.
Starting point is 00:20:54 I wouldn't want to anyways. So, man, it's like people in your situation, they'll do things like they'll put up game cameras around the house. That's what that's what Wes from Saskatchots Chronicles and the other guy told me to do was game cameras or motion sensor lights. that's it's it's it's what i would do if i was in your situation as quick as possible like if you're not wanting them near the house that's what you do yeah like if they're on if they're in the woods around the property or even on the property i don't mind just right i i just don't want them near the house yeah you're just kind of in and with those lights and and those things you're you're kind of setting up a boundary and sometimes it's like they'll even come up to to see at as far as they can
Starting point is 00:21:45 get, like, especially if you have lights, they'll come up to the edge of the lights and just hang out there. So, but that, I mean, that'll do it, man. And like, the thing that I've noticed a lot on this property is, so we don't just do bearer Mount Lion. I do raccoon hunting too, which you do at night with your dogs. Or it's like two in the morning. And, like, you can account it to other things, yes, but it's so weird. Like, I'll be walking fine through the bottom of it. We have this big giant draw and are this giant like eating out part of the canyon from a little creek that runs through it. So I walked the bottom of that with dogs trying to find raccoons and stuff to train younger dogs. And the the walls of this like canyon and draws are like vertical
Starting point is 00:22:35 probably 30 feet like straight vertical because it's just where the creeks carved out a spot over time. And I'll be walking down just like sitting there walking, in for dogs to bark or just humming along and then like no problem at all no eerie feeling and all of a sudden it's like you just get a feeling of dread you just feel it in your chest in the back of your head like there's something out here right now and like you'll have like i don't know if you you can it could be anything walking up on top of that top of that flat plateau on the because i'm down the bottom and the plateau is about 30 feet above me but like you'll have boulders or rocks come rolling down the edge parallel with you while you're walking along. Wow. That's crazy stuff, man. Oh, my goodness.
Starting point is 00:23:33 You're really in the thick of it. E.D. did give some good advice too. And let me get that. So she said that and, you know, this is just take it as it is. You know, ask their permission.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Sure. Tell them where your batteries. is a lot of people will talk to them directly out loud. And, you know, I don't know how you feel about that, but a lot of people do have, that is successful for a lot of people. So that might be something to take into consideration too. Maybe I should talk to him nice because I've yelled at him before.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Oh, yeah, don't, I wouldn't, don't, let's definitely stop the yelling. Yeah, I would say. There was one night. Respect, yeah. We have a tin roof barn and they're kept, and, uh, me and my buddies were actually out sleeping underneath this tin roof barn because it was just a nice night and we wanted to have kind of like a camp out almost and rocks kept hitting the roof of this tin roof barn and i had enough i got up i said get out of here go and i yelled at him and everything like that and i probably went too far by shooting off in the air yeah i mean it's a thing where you don't want the situation to escalate um but i think you can you can you can can say things like that with respect and being firm, right?
Starting point is 00:25:00 And not having to fire and things like that. But it's just you're kind of learning as you go along. But I think that the quickest way would be, you know, as the other guys you were talking to were saying, you know, your motion sensor lights and things like that are really gonna help you. But man, I definitely want to hear how this, how this goes, you know, if you do decide to go forward with things like that.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Because, um, and I think the cameras will work because there's the south side of the property, which is where the gate is, we have cameras on that gate. And it always seems like whenever you hear them or you feel like the area somewhere's coming from an area, always feel like it's on the north side of the property is where they're coming from. Okay, interesting. Is that, is there more woods on the north side? Is there anything on a north side that would be?
Starting point is 00:25:55 be like an area that they might be protecting or hanging out in that's where like i don't know like if this has anything but that's where most the indian artifacts and indian areas are okay yeah totally man that that's where and like i don't know if you can count this to bigfoot or not either but like there's a spot up on this canyon we go up on our property and it's a big limestone canyon and there's a big hole in the wall and around it stacked is this was from the Indians flat rocks they're about about an inch thick and they're flat and they're caked in mud and like turned into like almost like a doorway of this cave but in this cave there's a bunch of like bones of cows and stuff inside this cave but this
Starting point is 00:26:44 cave is like probably 200 yards up a side of a cliff you have to drop down from the top of the mountain to get down into this cave. And it's a nasty, it's a nasty hike. That's wild. Are they old bones or, or what do you think? Like, some of them are old, old, old, and there's some that are fresh and there's some that are fresher. Like, there's none that are like, have, like, there's some that you can still see blood inside the marrow and everything like that, but none of them have meat on them. But you can still see the resonant of blood that's in the marrow.
Starting point is 00:27:25 I wonder if some of those are your cows. And like, I don't know, like, I don't know, like, do you believe that they can use tools? No, absolutely. And I'll tell you why, because I've found it in Mount Hood National Forest. I found an area with a researcher where there were stacked ferns next to a handprint in the mud. And then there was like piles of mud. And this is like 30 miles out in the woods. And the handprint was like this.
Starting point is 00:27:54 So my question is because there's a big rock in there and there's a little rock next to it. And right next to it, there was bones that were split in half, almost like he's trying to get the marrow out of the inside of the bone. Oh my goodness. Dude, do you have pictures of that? That would be amazing to see. No, I don't have pictures of that. But I'll stay followed to you. And I got your email.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Actually, I wrote it down. So I run bare through that canyon all the time. So if I ever come by that canyon again, I'll go in that cave. Yeah, that would be awesome. Yeah, feel free to send me an email you got is bigfoot society, gmail.com. And yeah, keep me informed of anything else that happens or if you have any other questions, you can feel free to reach out, man. And I got to, like, is that X, them doing that across the road?
Starting point is 00:28:41 Is that telling them like, don't come up here? Man, that's one of those tricky things because some people are like, well, they don't want you to go in that area or maybe like, if, If you have a tree break, they're trying to get you, they're trying to mark roots. Like there's all these different thoughts and it's like, we just, we just don't know the 100% truth on it yet, right? Yeah, like the thing of like, if it was laid just across the road, I'd be like, okay, it's them saying like, we're here or it's a tree break pointing in a direction, but how it's
Starting point is 00:29:12 an X every time across the road, that's what I'm like, are they trying to like tell us not to come here by making an X? I will tell you this, that 99% of people I talk to were like researchers, people that have been in it for a long time, they'll say the X usually means out. And EDI is saying that in the comments too, from Indiana. So do we piss them off every time we go up there and take those X's and kick them off the road? Probably. Yeah, probably. Potentially, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:43 It's probably not a fun thing for them, I would guess. but I mean, usually if I'm out there, I try to keep things as it is, as they are. I don't try taking down stuff. If you find structures, like weird wooden structures, don't go in them. Don't try to take them down. I wouldn't do that, but like when they put it in the middle of the road, you kind of got to move it so you can get your truck or your vehicle up the road. I get it.
Starting point is 00:30:07 I get it. So it might be a thing where he's like, hey, guys, you know, if I want to get up there, I need to move this and ask, I don't know. That's a tricky one, right? Why are they trying to get you out of there? Do I leave them maybe a gift if I move it? Like an apple? You could do that over to this side or you could,
Starting point is 00:30:30 ED is saying you could ask them not to put it in the road, maybe put it on the side of the road is my thought. Okay. Yeah. Try to come to some kind of understanding. Yeah, right. I think there are amazing creatures and amazing. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:46 animals and what they can do is fantastic. And so I don't want to hurt them. I don't want to bother them, but I also don't want them hindering how I get around on my property. Sure. It's in situations like yours, a lot of it is coming to an understanding and, you know, living in harmony, peace, all that. And like, I don't know, is this a thing too? Like, I'm 19 right now. like whenever my dad it's my dad's property my parents are split whenever my dad and there's no
Starting point is 00:31:24 parents in the house are there for like two or three days the activity spikes almost really that's really interesting okay it's like do they find my dad threatening or do they find older men threatening and so and do they find like it might be yeah do they find younger kids more like i don't know I don't say it, like, less threatening so you can get closer because, like, I've heard things about, like, them liking to watch kids play and stuff. Yeah, I mean, and a lot of people report their, they're curious, females, children, people watching TV, things like that. And, you know, if you do have an individual where they're kind of more like an alpha male,
Starting point is 00:32:13 they're older, bigger, et cetera, or they have some kind of weapons. something when they're around yeah they're probably not going to get as close and and cause mischief you know because yeah it's like and like me at the time of when that sister one with my sister happened i was probably i think i was 18 at the time it was last year yeah yeah but like i've had times when i had buddies over and stuff and they didn't bother me and my buddies but like the one time when there was a bunch of these girls running around i wonder if that that's That was like something that clicked in his head and like Paked his curiosity was with all these little girls running around. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:56 And that there are different things associated with that that I have to be. I'm not really going to get into on this platform just because I want to keep the platform. If you get what I mean. But I think you kind of get what I'm talking about. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. I was just saying maybe that he finds them less threatening or finds them. them more. Totally.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Active or stuff like that. And it was like, okay, that's, I'm used to seeing all these guys around here that are big and threatening, but now there's all these non little threatening things. I'm gonna be, I'm gonna investigate. Yeah, I think that's a good way to put it, man. Yeah, you got it exactly. That is a good way to put it, man. But dude, you are in, in the middle of some wild, wild stuff.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Keep me in the loop. You got my email, but thank you so much for coming up, man. If you have any more questions, you feel free to reach out. I'll try to ask them or try to answer him best I can. How are you? Hey, buddy. Doing good. How about yourself?
Starting point is 00:33:59 Doing good. Thanks for coming up, man. Yeah, I'm from Iowa. I'm 65 years old. I was a professional trapper along the Missouri River with my buddies. And I lived in Portsmouth, Iowa, which is right at the edge of the low-edge. hills and if you know anything about the lowest hills it's a very dense dense forest along the river and so that's where I trapped and so a buddy of mine we were doing a lot of spotlighting
Starting point is 00:34:36 coons raccoons because we were making thousand dollars a week at the time and we found a found a lot of raccoons in. So one night, it was my turn to run down into the river with flashlight. So I run down into the river, and I'm ready to go across the creek. And all of a sudden, I hear this giant something running in the middle of the creek. And it was two-legged. It wasn't four-legged. Wasn't a deer.
Starting point is 00:35:17 It was two-legged. And I've spent all of my life out in the wilderness because that's what I did. And I was always in the middle of the night out trapping and hunting. And it ran up the crick and it stopped right in front of me. And I yelled at it because I knew it was a person. I thought it was a person. I said, who are you? Who are you?
Starting point is 00:35:44 Answer me. And it stood right? And it was only 25 feet away. And it was big because I could tell by the way it was running up the crick. And it wouldn't answer. So finally, it scared me. So I shot over its head. And then I just took off running, went back to the truck and told the guys nothing.
Starting point is 00:36:09 I didn't tell them nothing because I was not afraid of nothing. And they knew I was the main guy. And if I was afraid of something, they wouldn't like that. Then you're not the main guy. Yes, exactly. I ran everything, okay? And if I got scared of something,
Starting point is 00:36:28 and I've been out in the woods all of my life in the middle of night, but that was weird. Okay, that was the first thing that happened. So then I come back the next day, because I wanted to go explore, and I didn't say anything to my buddies, didn't say nothing. And I went looking,
Starting point is 00:36:47 and I didn't see any tracks, nothing. But as we were going up the creek, we found a giant cave. It was five foot high, and it went back in probably, I'd say seven foot into the clay. And it was all carved out with fingers, four like a bear. It was clawed out. And we were like, there's no bears around here. What could have clawed this cave out? and I still didn't say anything, okay?
Starting point is 00:37:22 I didn't say a thing to the guys. So then I said, well, we're going to start, I told my buddy, we're going to start trapping this because there's a lot of, a lot of raccoons in this creek. And I never told him a thing. So we went out there. We were trapping this for about three days. We set all of our traps out.
Starting point is 00:37:48 And so he dropped me off on one end. of the creek and he went on to the other end of the creek and he's supposed to we're going to meet in the middle and all of a sudden he comes flying down across you know through the field honking his horn and yelling and screaming out the window get out of there get out of there get out of there get out of the creek so I come running out of the creek and I come running out of the creek and he's freaking out he's got tears coming down his eyes and he says, I just ran into Bigfoot. And he says, he was down at the edge of the crick, and he looked across it, and he heard a grunt. And he looked, and he's only 50 feet away. And here's this big foot standing there, and he's swaying back and forth.
Starting point is 00:38:42 And all he did is made one grunt. But he, and then my friend, he turned around and took off running. And to this day, if you, by you, by you. get him on the phone, he will tell you 100% that he ran into Bigfoot. So then we go back to town and then he tells everybody in town that he ran into Bigfoot and they all think he's crazy, right? So we live, we grew up in a small town. So if you do something like this, if you tell somebody something like this, you know, they're going to make funny you. So the whole, you know, we had probably, I don't know, six or seven guys went out on a
Starting point is 00:39:28 search party looking and they saw the cave. Everybody saw the cave all scratched out and they all believed us. So that's my story. Very short. That is awesome though because I don't hear a lot of Iowa stuff. What year was that again? This was like 1975. Oh, wow. So yeah. There was a ton of Bigfoot stuff happening all over the place in Iowa in the mid to late 70s, especially in like Raccoon River area. Yeah, that's up north. Yeah, exactly. That's crazy, man. And you said this was Portsmouth?
Starting point is 00:40:11 Yeah, Portsmouth, Iowa. Wow. Look it up. Yeah. So have you, I've heard of maybe one other thing happening a little, a little westy, and it was not in the 70s. Have you heard of other things happening in that same area? No, I never researched any of this. Never.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Just beginning to me down. I'm just, you know. Yeah. Fascinating stuff. I've never heard of anything happening in Portsmouth. So this is really cool to get it documented. Well, the Portsmouth is not in the trees. You know, we're just on the edge of the low-ass hills.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Yeah. But I spent all my upbringing in the low-est hills. And that's a pretty intense forest. There is a book. Let me look it up real quick. Just make sure I get the title for you. If you want to, what is it? It's Monsters of the Hawkeye State by David Weatherly. And it's got like 80 pages of all the Bigfoot activity that's happened over the years in Iowa. It's really good. If you're wanting to look into it, that's a really, that's like your one resource right now. And say that again. Yeah, which.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Monsters of the Hawkeye State by David Weatherly. Yep. So it's a good one. It's good stuff. Thank you, thank you, sir, for sharing your experience. I appreciate it. Thank you.
