Bigfoot Society - Two Field Workers Saw Something Pull Itself Through a Florida Swamp

Two field workers near Chipley, Florida, watched something pull itself forward—and fled through four-foot-tall grass.The recording artist known as Shadowyze joins Jeremiah Byron to share the unexplained encounters that inspired his cryptid music. His account of a 2022 Florida survey includes a tall, blurry figure beside a tree, a sudden movement into the water, and another scare as the workers tried to finish their job.On a West Virginia ranch, Shadowyze recalls nightly knocking against a mobile home, oversized tracks, and a flashlight glimpse of a wolf-like animal he estimated was the size of a lion. Thank you. I beg for society, but the privilege of talking to Sean today, Sean's an individual from down in Florida, who's had some interesting things happen over the years. And so he's going to be talking about that in a few minutes. a few things about Sean here so Sean has a BA in anthropology and has

had some jobs in densely forested areas to do with that over the last few years he's also a hip hop artist has recorded a song called In the Shadow of Bigfoot which is a fantastic song

I'm going to have that linked in the show and outside can go check that out if that's in the shadow of foot by shadow wise welcome to the show Sean how are you doing today sir pretty good how are you doing Jeremiah we're having a good day for we're making it happen man so I know uh yeah it's it's one of those days but um so so let's start with uh you we were talking a little bit beforehand and you've had some strange experiences uh in the woods over the years that you believe may be attributed to Bigfoot.

Do you mind sharing about those? Okay, yeah. So I usually work in dense, forested areas that can be anywhere from 25 acres to a couple hundred acres. And over the years, I've noticed these structures that are out of place, anomalous, and they tended to be associated with the, the big foot structures that I've seen on different programs on TV.

And so the ones that I see the most are the X's. And the branches usually have the smaller branches broken off, and they're just almost like holes. And they're pretty centered. The X is pretty centered. And they'll be lodged and wedged in branches of trees so it's like the exit itself is being held up by the trees at the top and branches and at the bottom it's like it was almost worked into the

tree as a support structure and I've seen them in the different sizes you were from 10 feet long the 30 feet long saplings you know as big around as a you know a broomstick to you know a fence post And they tend to be pretty far out on the properties. They're not like right as you drive in. So those are just a few of the structures of seeing. I've seen the tree bends too where these trees are tucked and they're bent like an upside down, kind of a U-shaped and tucked into.

another tree at a lower branch. And I've looked and I've said, hey, can that actually be done by wind? And it's not because it's usually isolated. And it's like the only one that would be bent like that. So I've seen those type of bends and I've even tried to bend them myself. Some of them just absolutely, you'd have to have the immense strength to do.

do that. So I had no explanation how it happened. So I've seen those quite a few times over the years. And I've seen the other ones which are just branches that are kind of like the tree-pe type structures, but they're laid up against a tree and tucked under a branch or two. And then they're all angled at the one focal point on the branch. It's like someone placed them there. And some Some of those can be 15, 20, 30 feet long and a little too heavy for our human to move around. So those have been the most common trees type structures I've seen that are associated with Bigfoot. So it's interesting to know that so many people are investigating this and coming up with research and conclusions. and noticing these anomalous tree branches placed like this. So I think it's interesting for me to just keep photographing and documenting it. I've heard tree knocks quite a few times also,

which are pretty loud. Some of them sound, they resonate and echo throughout the forest, and immense power being hit into a tree with some sort of, of broken sapling or something. So it's pretty amazing to be able to see these things and also hear these tree knocks that normally I would only see on television documentaries about it. So Sean, a maybe a question or two for you.

So are these tree knocks happening in the same areas where you're seeing the X's and stuff? Yes. Yep. And usually that's when the tree knocks will happen is after we've seen some of the X's or the bends or the tree P-like structures. You'll hear the knocks, not necessarily right then, but throughout the day sometime, you'll hear them. And they don't happen just once. And it's usually three. It's three. and there's a break for a few minutes and then there's three more. And it only goes on for maybe, I'm just guessing, maybe a half hour at the most and then it quits and we don't hear it again.

That's really interesting. I know that we talked before the recording started and we're not going to get into super specifics for locations just because of certain reasons. but I would be curious if the areas where you're experiencing these are also known for other Bigfoot activity that is happening or are these areas where it's kind of like a weird like nothing's ever happened here before but I'm still noticing it. No, they are in areas where there's been sightings reported throughout the decades and, you know, even in the last decade. So I wouldn't say they're sterile, crypted areas. They're definitely active, but how active, I'm not sure. But definitely areas where there's lots of wildlife, lots of rainforests and rivers and creeks nearby.

So all of it adds up to be a good composition of the ecosystem to have around for these things. Yeah, absolutely. And we can say that it is in Florida, though, right? I didn't hear you. We can say that it is in Florida, though. Is that okay? Yeah, Florida, Alabama also. Perfect.

Oh, wow, yeah. Alabama and Louisiana. That's, okay, that's extremely interesting. You'd also mentioned that you had some interesting things happen when you were tent camping. Would you be able to share about those? Yeah, that was back. in I want to say 2015, 2014 or 2015, it was a fall down in Ocala. And that was a survival training for beginners type of week-long course.

And we were there and there maybe eight or ten of us in the instructor and all that that was camped out in the Ocala National Forest and near a primitive campground that they had out there. That, I'm not sure, the second night, maybe the third night, there was tree knocks that were heard early in the evening. And they went on into the night. and as the fire started getting to it more of like a smoulder and the glow of the embers you know one of the dark coyotes started showing up and there was several coyotes around the area and later on I was when I woke up because something was pushing in the side of the tent had like a conical shape indentation that came in about maybe eight to ten inches or more and startled me and I jumped up

and as I jumped up the shape went back flat again and I had my little knife next to me and I was pushing that kind of stabbing at the side of the tent because it scared me so bad but I have no idea what that was. But it was definitely checking the tent out. And all I know is that there was tree knocks earlier that night. It was coyotes that night. And then there was that. Wow.

That, man, that must have really affected you. During that situation where you have it pushing in your tent, was there anything else going on that? would have made you think this could be Bigfoot related, any other things you noticed during when something is pushing in on your tent? As far as this situation, I, you know, I was barely awake, you know, when I was trying to figure out what it was. It was such a kind of a traumatic, startling experience.

You know, I thought bare maybe, but then I was. thinking about the tree knocks earlier than all the coyotes around. You know, I'm not sure, but definitely very, very strange. No, absolutely. The next morning, did you notice anything weird about the area around the tent? Well, they, you know, there was some scat found over near one of the other. areas that was kind of weird. I guess it was large, but I think it had hair in it. It was like bear scat mixed with something else, but no one knows what it was for sure. You know, not sure. Interesting. So had you composed your song in the Shadow Bigfoot before then,

or before these events? Or were these events what led you to create that song? Yeah, all of these, well, the songs like that one and some other ones, a dogman song that coming out or out and coming out are influenced by all of this. So I would say that these experiences built up a resume to influence the songs. and influence the research to do a song that actually can convey the message in an audio,

you know, musical format, like in a unique way. No, it's extremely well done. And you can tell after, you know, you listen to the song, like, okay, Sean knows his material. He's either like a super Bigfoot enthusiast or he did definitely. He definitely did his research into what's going on the topic. So good job with that. It's a good song too. You, were there any other Bigfoot-related things that you were wanting to share as well?

Well, I've seen areas where there was a tree that was actually been over, horizontally snapped in about seven feet and that was an area that I heard the tree knocks in but it was about 300 feet away or more from where I was at the time I heard the knocks and when we finally got over to that area

there was this tree and I took a photograph of it and it was probably about as big around as a round fence post about maybe, well, maybe bigger than that. It's probably six inches in diameter. I'm not 100% sure, but anyway, that was a fresh tree. There was no pine beetles to rot it. He had no reason to break over like that,

and it's still alive and healthy looking. So that was an anomalous situation. When you have these things occur out in the woods, Are you usually by yourself or are there other people around? No, it's always other people. Okay. And I'm being super, super careful how I say to these questions because of conversations we've had before. Are the people that are with you in these areas also having experiences outside of you being there?

experiences different ones but not so much it's generally when we're together on these forested properties where we have these experiences and so I can't really say that they're having these experiences without me and I'm having experiences without them is because these forcited areas are probably the most forested areas we go on to. We don't really go on to unless it's work-related. So I would probably have to answer no on that. Okay. Overall.

That's interesting. Yeah. You had, you've, so we're going to get into Dogman a little bit, which, is an interesting topic for me. It's not one I really get into, but if it comes up organically on the show, then we will talk about it. It's just

I don't spend a lot of time into it. It kind of freaks me out for a few reasons. But you did send me, you've got a new song coming out about Dogman, which is really also well done. I had a question about that song. So, And it'll make sense once people hear it.

Did you actually have Vic involved with that song? Oh, talking about Vic Kundiv? Yeah. Yeah, that's him. I was like, it's got to be the actual dude. Like, that's incredible. So it's very cool what you did with that. Well done.

So, yeah, that's just more a question for me. So you've also had some experiences over the years with Dogman in different states. Would you be able to share what happened with that? Yes. So the first time was in West Virginia in 2022. And it was in the northwestern quadrant of West Virginia in rural area. And that was on a friend of mine's 100-acre ranch. And she had a ranch up there and at homestead.

So we're doing some work. My daughter and I went up there and did some work for on the farm, helping her out and refurbishing and fixing and painting different structures. And while we were there, We not only saw tracks within a day or so being there that were massive over five and a half inches long and about five inches wide that were larger than typical wolf tracks and they were on a roadside on a property, but we also experienced these knocks that took place on the side of the mobile home room. on the property that intensified by the night every night. And example would be you think there's a rat in the wall the first night? And the second night, well, it's a little too big to be a rat.

Maybe it's a squirrel or maybe it's a raccoon on the second and third night. And then it progressed to maybe there's a black bear out there that's pawing on the side of the mobile. home. It actually took place just like that. And you had a little dog with us that was always scared and hiding under the bed at night. And the room I was staying in. And my daughter was noticing things on the end of the mobile home where she was staying in a room where there was tapping on the wall and bangs into the wall. But I was hearing the majority of it at my end. So one night Go out there

I took a flashlight and shined The direction to see See what was going on outside And the beam hit right on The eyes I saw the eyes I saw the head I saw the body of this giant wolf looking creature That was probably the size between a female lion And a male lion size

But With it had like a man a main but also had a slope back like a hyena or what you'd see in illustrations of a saber-toothed tiger and it was just a split second or so that i looked at it and bolted back in the house locked all the locks and you know called my friend up the hill and she ended up firing some gunshots out of her out of her front door and that was that you know she did that up in the air just to kind of scare it away. And so that's how that went, and there's a whole lot more to that story.

It's pretty detailed in how it unfolded all the anomalous things. We did some structures in the woods. We saw stuff associated with squash. We saw gnawls on the sapling trees, you know, look like a beaver with sharp teeth, just, you know, four feet high, just chew a big gnaw mark the size of a, you know, a milk saucer into the tree. And we saw big saplings laid on the ground in like an X formation. We saw trees that were overlapped that were almost telephone pole size big that were twisted at the top together,

like they were tucked, tucked looking. Maybe not that big, but close to it, but the forest that we walked up there had lots of structures and type of anomalous, you know, squash-looking bends and exits. So all of this, what I call this crypted, associated stuff was going on up there. and so I think there was more happening in the woods also. Few questions about that. Would you say, one, it sounded like you had a conversation with the landowner about what happened, and two, were they surprised by what happened to you guys? Well, the landowner had neighbors that had reported seeing a large wolf-like,

animal. Didn't know about dog man. They didn't know about any of that. I don't know if they believed in Sasquatch. But that was all I knew before I got there is that one of the neighbors saw a large wolf-like creature near a backyard or somewhere

in that little village area. Okay. Interesting. And then when you were able to actually see it briefly did it have were able to see its face to have any emotion to its face

when you had your light yeah I saw it was it wasn't like I had a pretty solid flashlight and it was bright but it was at least 60 feet away from what I was at when I came out on the porch and looked at it it was

kind of a dead stare and it It just, it happened so fast, it just looked like it was looking through me, you know, where it's fixated, but it had like it's piercing into you with a stare. And it had a golden, golden amber colored eyes, dark, dark colored fur, big, real big. And it didn't, it didn't. And it looked like it was semi-crouched a little bit where it's kind of not all the way low down to the ground. It's, you know, stomach is on the ground, but it's kind of halfway there.

Or maybe not quite halfway, but you can tell it was kind of crouched a little bit. It's wild because it reminds me of when I went to Tennessee in this last April, year old 2026 with uh randy's uh tennessee crypticamp out um it was in the upper cumberland plateau and one week one night we were all out and a guy caught on thermal something that looked exactly like what you just described how it has the main uh it looks like a big lion or hyena and it's it's the weirdest thing ever and i'll talk about that in another episode i'll link here in the show notes but um it's it i don't know a lot about dog man but what i know it's very very strange thing it's also strange how it sounds like that person also has dog man and bigfoot

on the same property right right and after i was up there it continued and it kind of picked up so after we left she communicated with me multiple times with photos of things like silhouettes that are not, that are not supposed to be there in a certain tree that she sees every day and there's all of a dark silhouette that's like is, you know, seven or eight feet tall and three or four feet wide and it's just there in the darkness. And she's like, not that, I don't recognize that. And it wouldn't be there like the next day. My goodness. And you would also see things that would be sticking out of the garden where you had all this vegetation that grew over the garden where it wasn't, you know, saying wild weeds and bushes. And there would be something sticking out of there, like it was a black fur or a hump on the back of the neck or something was trying to hide but not all the way. you wanted you to see that i guess yeah that man that sounds like a wild wild experience i know that you have also had another experience down in florida is that right right um we have about 10

minutes left would you mind sharing some information about that as well okay so this will took place just a few weeks or about a month after that one did and it was in 22 also and it was it was near Chippley, Florida. And it was remote. It was hundreds of acres of wilderness, thousands in that area. And we were out there doing a survey for the company. And we're pretty far out in the woods from the paved road where we parked near a neighborhood so we can have access.

the property went out maybe a thousand feet or 1,500 feet or so. And it was about an acre wide and probably several acres deep and more than that. And so we, when we're coming back, we're mostly done, we were probably still a thousand feet away from the road. if not a little more, but we're out in the woods and good ways. And the field tech that was with me noticed something, and I did too, that was over in the swampy area that was south of where we were standing,

and it was probably 60 to 70 feet, maybe 80 feet away, I'm guessing. And it was standing. And it was standing next to a tree, but it was cloaked, but we could see it. It was like blurry looking, kind of like the predator in the movie. And it had a shape to it was kind of lanky and thinner but tall, maybe six and half to seven feet tall. And it had, if I was the same, what kind of cryptic be a dog man based on the shape of the head? the ears. But this was like a second or two that we saw that and it dropped down into the water,

which was these little pockets of swamp water that was the size of a Volkswagen bug. And there was cypress knees, cypress trees, and it was next to a cypress tree, and it dropped down. When it hit the water, like the cloak disappeared, like totally disappeared. And it was like fur, you could see what it was. and had a huge hump of fur behind its neck. It was sticking above the water, and it was just like floating from,

I would say that was east to west direction, and it was kind of getting closer to an area where it could come up on the land and come to access to where we were. And it had an arm, the right arm, lifted out of the water, grabbed the cypress knee and pulled itself. forward. He saw the hand, and saw the thumb. It was definitely fur on it, a lot of it, and long fingers. And it had, the head seemed like it was underwater, mostly like it was trying to hide. But with that big hump of fur, it wasn't really hiding, so we could see it. So I don't

know if it was trying to come and ambush us and cut us off, corral us out, if it was terrible. Toriolica stalking this. And we, I screamed at the coworker and said, you know, get out of here, we got to go, you know, and they came and bolted off with me and we're heading out. And we got closer to the, to the road and heard, you know, like the dogs barking in the neighborhood we're getting close to. So it felt a little safer, but it was a panic, dropping things, picking up, equipment that was falling off and shoot streams coming on tide, running through four foot tall, dried grass where things could ambush you. And so it was kind of a nightmare for the minute or so that we had to run through all that.

And then we get to an area, and we still had like a couple more surveyed shovel. test digs to do before we were finished and I was like okay I don't know if we can do this with this what we just saw but we ended up doing it and but we were closer to the neighborhood and so felt a little more secure that we could see houses and you could see the road four or five hundred feet away and you were kind of out of the forest so it's more of this grassland area and that's when it happened. I was, you know, getting finished with this next little unit we're doing and the,

the field text, like, there it is, pointed over and it was like swaying the grass back and forth. They saw the, and there was no wind and the grass was moving back and forth. It's like four feet tall, so something was behind it and slapping it back and forth. And there was also like weird sounds, you know, bird, big, bird sounds or mimic sounds that we heard and little kind of howl type sounds were off. But maybe like there was some communication. We heard some that were off in the woods, like they were communicating, triangulating maybe. and so we got out of there and we were dropping the equipment running lost a few little minor pieces of equipment but got back to the car or the you know the vehicle and took off

that is extremely intense i'm really focused on how you saw it its its arm coming out of the water and in its hand did it have claws or what were what were its fingers like? I can't tell you that. Claws. But it did look

more spindly. It looked more like lanky fingers. But they were those fur on the hand. And this is also

quick. So my description is just based off of like a couple of seconds. Yeah, absolutely.
