Here's Bill Meyer.
11 minutes after six conspiracy theory Thursday.
There are a lot of conspiracies and theories flying in the air this morning.
Join the conversation at 7705633 770 KMED.
My email is Bill at BillMyersShow.com.
And the Facebook.com slash Bill Myers Show feed is up.
I appreciate you listening wherever you happen to be.
1063KMED in Greater Jackson County.
If you're in South Jackson County, tune to 1067.
North Jackson County and into Josephine County,
1059 out of Rogue River.
And of course, 99.3 KBXG carries the morning show
6-9.
Okay, the jukebox.
So we appreciate that wherever you happen to be and also streamed on KMED.com.
And remember, if at all possible, avoid the TuneIn app because they put extra ads on top
of us that just blather over whatever we may be doing.
In other words, their blather ends up overcoming my blather, you know, so it overrides my blather. Not that I blather. Well, sometimes I imagine I do blather. I'm human.
If you want to join those, 770-5633. What's on your mind? We can talk about this.
Yesterday, a lot of drama in Josephine County. Funny thing is, we had former Josephine County
Commissioner and former, well, actually he was on the budget committee,
Simon Hare ended up putting out a letter of resignation
Tuesday night.
And apparently I had it Wednesday morning
but didn't realize it because it was sitting
in spam for some reason.
And then sometimes your email stuff filters it out.
So I didn't see it until he got off the air.
And then the excrement is hitting the rotational oscillator.
You know, that sort of thing. And there is a lot of drama and a lot of
he said, they said, she said, he said, you know, going on right now in Josephine
County government. And I just wanted to preface this that I don't have
a dog in this fight per se. And I'm honestly, I'm at this point where I kind of want to hold back
and just wait for more information. It feels like a little premature.
Because I know that Simon Hare, who I respect and I've talked to him several times on the
show, actually a couple of times I think over the years, and I find him to be a pretty thoughtful
guy, he makes some pretty big claims about what's going on in Josephine County government.
I can't prove what he says
is true or untrue, nor can I prove what the government, what the commissioners are claiming
is true or untrue at this point in time. All I can do is report to you what some of the
folks have been telling me. And Simon did call me. I didn't get a chance to call him
back last night because, okay, well, let me just share a little bit of the of the letter.
And he addresses this to Chairman Black, Commissioners Barnett and Smith, and the citizens.
He says, with a profound sense of duty that I notify you effectively immediately
of my resignation from the position as Josephine County Budget Officer.
The urgency of this action is precipitated by boards in action yesterday. I believe
Chairman Bleck is likely working with outside legal counsel to negotiate a
potentially multi-million dollar contract for a County Operations Manager,
Michael Sellers. On Wednesday, April 18th, I learned of the current and proposed
salary and benefits of
interim newly created position of operations manager Michael Sellers.
His previous position was IT director.
Most recently, he was promoted to interim HR and finance director in addition to other
duties.
His name and title are listed in multiple budget documents totaling $388,000 total compensation,
reflecting his current compensation that's nearly $1,500 a day.
Now I have to admit, you know, if what Simon's talking about is right, you know,
it's pretty good pay for Josephine County government, okay?
This compensation package was negotiated and approved by Chairman Bluck as the
result of weeks of closed-door backroom meetings with Sellers.
I think it's safe to assume with the full knowledge and delegated authority of the other
two commissioners, Barnett and Smith.
Standard HR practices demand an objective review of comparable compensation for public
officials.
Because of Bleck's delegated authority and Sellers being interim HR director,
this decision was not public and there are no justifications or comparables." So
anyway he's kind of going in here and Simon here talking about this
being transparent and it's not good etc etc. Alright and so $388,000 for Michael Sellers. Now Michael Sellers used to be Herman
Bershigger's chief of staff. And by the way, I would add a very competent chief
of staff in my opinion, in my dealings with him over the years. Seems to be a
pretty smart guy. Well you can see what's going on here. There is the fear, I think,
of are we developing another Danny Jordan style situation
for Josephine County?
I think that it's kind of the unspoken.
This is just my opinion on it.
Is it going to be another type of Danny Jordan situation
where you'd have a really, really high paid administrator,
yada, yada, yada.
Although to be fair, Josephine County could probably use
a little bit of Danny Jordan right about now. maybe buy a few hours of his time, but that's just me.
If it were my situation, I would have bought a few times, given that Danny is a hired gun
at this point, and working by the hour, I would have bought a few hours and seen that
maybe they could come up with a more creative way to handle what's happening in Josephine County. All right, we have to filter a bunch of this
through the knowledge that Josephine County can afford only maybe a little bit more than half of
the people that it actually has working for it. Josephine County is in contraction.
All of that COVID money, Herman was talking about that for years when he would call in weekly about
the County Commission and various other things. He's no longer County Commissioner, but still
he would call in and say, hey, next year, 2025, was going to be the big one because the money's gone. And these are big mathematic problems that we're talking about right now.
And a lot of people are hurt.
A lot of people have hurt feelings.
Some people probably want to be Michael Sellers or run the county.
And so there are probably little dogs in the fight there and angling and people
have feelings that are hurt. You have ideological disputes. We have another situation here,
Daily Courier, secretary fired by West Behr Chigar files federal lawsuit against them in
Josephine County. So there's another one. There's probably going to be a plethora of ethics reports or ethics complaints filed
because we know that that's what you do right now, especially if you're going after Republicans.
I'm not saying that there may not be problems, but most of the...
In fact, if I understand it correctly, most of the ethics complaints go nowhere because
there's nothing to it, but it is a way to throw a lot of smoke in the air. So there's politics mixed with bad feelings, mixed with a very serious
mathematics problem. And it was well known that Josephine County was going to
have to be cutting a lot of people. It can only afford about half the number.
The COVID money is gone. All of that stuff which fattened up a lot of the
poorer counties for a while, that's gone. It's just an issue.
And Josephine County can't print its way to prosperity via the Federal Reserve,
like maybe the federal government could do for a long time. And even that's in danger,
as we well know on the national level. So we got a lot going on and a lot of accusations. And
maybe things have not been done correctly.
I don't know.
But I can tell you that Simon Harris says that, well, I'm aware of witnesses to some
of the claims that he's talking about.
I'm not going to go into the details of that right now.
And then Commissioner Ron Smith called me yesterday from Josephine County, and I asked
him, well, you know, was Michael Sellers actually getting $388,000 or $380,000?
Because in fact, I got a text message from former Josephine County Commissioner Lily Morgan,
who is now the manager of Gold Hill.
And she says, Bill, did you know Michael Sellers is getting $388,000 salary?
That is the narrative. That's what's
being talked about out there. That was in Simon Hare's letter. And the way Ron Smith
related it to me is that what Simon Hare is calling $388,000 to Michael Sellers, and I'm
just translating here, I'm just recounting. It was a conversation on the phone,
that was running around yesterday,
but the $388,000 in total were drafted budget placeholders.
In other words, money that's not there,
well, it's just placed there because it was a draft budget.
It's not finalized budget
and nothing's going to Michael Sellers.
Nothing's going extra to Michael Sellers.
In fact, is Michael Sellers getting paid more?
Because Michael Sellers has taken over a lot of duties in Josephine County
because of the various buyouts and some people who have resigned.
And so he has taken them on, taken on some of these duties, like has been mentioned.
Commissioner Smith said, unequivocally, no, that is not true.
He is not getting paid any more money now than he was before.
That's what Commissioner Ron Smith has told me.
All I can tell you is what he told me.
So the $388,000 deal, they're claiming that this is not happening. As far as the secret negotiations with outside
counsel for a multi-million dollar compensation package, that sort of thing, Commissioner
Smith said, no, that's not happening. Now, we have other people that are saying there
are, but there are other folks that
are also with political machinations involved that probably would love to take out this
current Josephine County board. All I can tell you is what I know, and I don't know
everything, and I can't prove anything at this point. I would suggest that when it comes
to what's happening in Josephine County, the drama over, okay, who's getting $388,000?
Are there secret negotiations going on, etc., etc.? There's a
lot of bloodletting going on and letting go of people in Josephine
County to get the employees in line with the money coming in. So
there's a lot of noise and dust in the air. I would suggest we hold off a little bit
before drawing solid conclusions
because I think there could be misfires.
There may be perfectly innocent explanations
for some of this stuff in the draft budgets
and this and that and the other.
There are a lot of people that want that board gone.
I would also remind you that
board hasn't even been in power for 100 days. And this is not all that different
in some ways from the Trump administration having to face a lot of
problems, face down a lot of problems that they have and they're gonna have to
hit the ground running. This is an inexperienced board.
They're fighting their sea legs.
That's just the way it is.
I not saying that everything they've done is good or bad or anywhere.
I don't have a dog in this fight.
I would just ask that we just take a breath and pause and watch a little bit and see how this plays out.
They're reorganizing Josephine County's government because it needs to be reorganized.
They can't afford to keep paying all the people that they were.
And there is going to be some doubling up.
And a lot of people are upset about it.
And there's a lot of infighting that's going on.
And there's some political intrigue too, I would imagine.
Let's just hold off and just take it easy and see where it goes.
Now Commissioner Ron Smith assured me that when plans are a little more solidified, he'd
be happy to come on and we will talk about this more
openly. But there are certain things during the negotiation processes with various issues
that they can't talk about it right now. That's how it was related to me.
So at some point, you got 100 days, you haven't even been in there 100 days, you got to let
the board try to govern the county, a county which is arguably in financial
trouble and you know they can't create money for employees that doesn't exist within the
system, within the framework.
So I have no conclusions for you other than to maybe just calm down a little bit on this
Josephine County thing and there's a lot of in-fighting. I can't quite believe if people
aren't suing one another, they're fighting one another politically and there's a lot going on.
I just say let's just take a breath, okay? That's how I see it at least. 25 minutes after 6-770-5633-770-KMED.
This is the Bill Meyers Show.
Ready to upgrade your roof to a durable, sleek metal option?
Look no further than Stephen Westfall Roofing Ink.
With our state-of-the-art SnapLock machines, we've become ED.
By the way, I just want to give you a heads up on who we're going to be talking to this
morning.
I think it'll be a great conversation.
I had a listener yesterday saying, Phil, everyone's still talking about 11 million
illegal aliens. What is the real number? And we're going to have some people on,
in fact, Hannah Davis at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, just
came out with a new report and analysis and yeah it's not 11 million anymore and
we'll talk about that all coming up. Also going to talk with Ann Vandersteel because there is a lot coming out of
MAGA right now.
People are asking for Donald Trump to, I mean, just go crazy.
I shouldn't say go crazy, but to suspend habeas corpus when it comes to this
issue of illegal immigration and getting rid of the folks and various other things.
So we'll have a talk about that. Why you can't hate the mainstream media enough.
Kevin Sterritt brings up a couple of stories, not about guns this time around,
but he's been paying attention to what's happening, especially the desire for
Salem to hand over lots of taxpayer cash to failing newspapers in the state of
Oregon. We'll have a conversation about that and so much more.
Holly Morton, Josephine County Republican Party Chair.
Well, I'll tell you, Holly, your party knows how to do
a lot of infighting right now.
I should say the county has a lot of infighting right now.
Wouldn't you say, when you look at what's going on there
right now?
Man, the drama is excruciating.
And it's really pretty ridiculous.
I mean, there are facts.
If there are facts, just bring them forward.
But I don't like to have somebody give me a call and tell me something's going on and
expect me to take action.
And I'm saying, well, bring me the goods.
If you've got some proof of something, let's see it.
I get this bunch of budget, you know, budget forms. A budget is a proposal. It is not a pay sub that tells you exactly what somebody's being paid.
Yeah, I received that from Simon here too, the picture, and he sent me a number of budget forms. But the way Commissioner Ron Smith termed that is that these are placeholders, it's a form.
He knows what it is, essentially. And Michael Sellers is not getting paid.
Michael Sellers seems to be the lightning rod for a lot of this, of the infighting in Josephine County,
as far as the budgeting process and the politics of it all right now. At least it seems that way to me.
Well, he's making a lot of really tough decisions. You know, when you restructure a county or
a business or something like that, it's very tough. You've got to look at the revenue that
you have available to pay people. Then you've got to look at the people you have and figure
it out.
Yeah, it's a mathematics problem. That's all it is, but the mathematics are connected to
real people with real desires and there's also political issues involved. I mean, it's, it's Josephine County has some problems it's got to work through.
And Herman warned us about this over the last couple of years that it was coming
in.
I guess here it is.
It's come and well, it's come and people are making the tough choices.
And I, you know, I admire Michael.
If we get to the place where we find out that something has been done
inappropriately, I'd get to the place where we find out that something has been done inappropriately,
I'd like to see it. But so far, people are making accusations with, I'm waiting for the proof,
bring it on. I'm willing to take a look at any information that comes to me. But so far,
all I hear is supposition and looking at a budget, which is not proof of salary in any
form or fashion. Yeah and that's the important part and like I say the county
at least one County Commissioner assures me Michael Sellers is not getting
$388,000 per year. Some of the claims are are being made there now. Is there a
plan to pay him $388,000? I don't know. There's a lot we don't know about this and like I
said, I have no dog in this fight. All I can do is relate to people. This is what some
people have told me. Any of these people who want to discuss it are welcome on the program.
If the commission wants to talk about it, great. If someone who's against that commission
wants to talk about it, I'm willing to talk with them about that too. Okay? I just want
to be clear.
Absolutely. But I think your point of standing by, keep your powder dry, just stay cool.
That's the way to go. You know, we have a tendency to put everything on the front page of the paper
and then figure it out over the next few weeks. Oh, that wasn't right or this wasn't right.
Yeah. And maybe there was some and if there was something done wrong, we'll get that figured out,
I think. I really do. But what I would remind people is that we're not even in a hundred days and there are calls
for recall.
And it's like, holy mackerel.
It's like you barely figure out what the bathroom code is.
Right, it takes time.
And sincere people should be helping the new you know
the new people we lost John West who had the experience he was recalled and you know through
a bunch of lies in the first place he was recalled and so all of a sudden you have three
essentially freshmen commissioners working together and they're doing their best and it seems to me I, I mean, I looked into it. I was on the phone yesterday from 7 in the morning till like 10 last night, call after call, trying to sort through all the details.
Yeah. Well, all I support here, Holly, you know, I'm not going to say I support the commissioners or I support the people who are opposing this and what's going on. Or I support the someone filing a lawsuit or whatever.
It's not that.
I'm just saying let's just wait and see at this point.
I just think that's it because nobody,
none of us know anything I think at this point.
We'll see.
It just feels premature to be ready fire aiming all around here right now.
Well, I've got them, Simon asked me to resign.
If I don't jump on board with what he's saying, he said I should be resigning.
I'm so stupid.
Okay, well what do you have to do with running the County Commission?
Well, zero.
Okay, but you see this is where I'm saying there's a lot of
politics that, well there's a lot of politics that's involved in this too. I
know you're not running, okay. All right, all right Holly, hey I appreciate the
call but yeah I'm just I'm just saying calm down, take a break and just take a
breath and let's let it play out, okay? That's it. All right, yep, because I
don't know, you don't know. I don't think
everybody or anybody has the entire story at the moment. But hi, good morning. This is Bill. Who's
this? Welcome. Good morning, Bill. This is Mike Pelphrey calling you from right outside of the
Rocky Mountain. Oh, good for you. So you decided to take a break from Joe County for a little bit,
huh? You know what? I did decide to take a break.
And just so you know, I haven't seen one homeless tent until I got back to a blue state, which
of course is Colorado.
So it has been a wonderful trip, but I'm looking forward to getting back to Josephine County
because it looks like the crap has hit the fan again.
Yeah, it does. And the thing is, Mike, I'm not happy to say this.
It's not happy. No one's happy when they say, hey, listen, we can only afford to have about
half of these workers on half of the staff that we have right now. But the math problems are very
sticky and they don't go away just by wishing that that the math problems weren't there.
OK, yeah, that's kind of how I see it.
Appreciate the call. Welcome back when you do make it in.
OK, let me go.
I'll grab one more call that I got to roll into news and more.
But hi. Good morning. Who's this?
This is Minor Dave.
Yeah, Dave.
A couple of days ago, I got a letter from the Social Security Administration and the
Treasury Department on a response to a pardon request, which I didn't send to them.
I sent it to the Justice Department.
Okay, yeah.
So to make a long story short, I don't want to go through the whole process there.
So you may, they sent this along or you're getting the information sent where you may
get pardoned for your living on the mining claim charge and then that you spent time
in jail for, that could happen?
That could happen.
I hope so.
Well, if you're pardoned, does that mean they stop taking money out of your social security
check?
Yeah, I would.
And secondly, I sent you an email.
I'm asking people to write to the Justice Department and the pardon department.
There's an email address that if you share it, they could...
Well, why don't you send it to me again, Dave, because I don't have it.
It may have been spammed out or got deleted accidentally.
Resend that, okay?
We'll talk soon.
I will.
All right.
Thanks, Dave.
Good luck on getting a pardon.
We could have a Northern California pardon, not just pardons for January Sixers, I suppose.
636, how many illegal aliens do we actually have?
They're still talking 10, 11 million.
It's a lot more than that, and we're
going to talk about the Federation for American
Immigration Reform, their latest report.
We'll tell us more next.
Are you turning 65 and entering Medicare this year?
The details can be confusing, and it's
easy to miss important facts or get stuck with a late fee.
Come see me well ahead of your birthday,
so you can make sure you understand the system
and have time to think through your options. So if you're turning 65 call me Lynn
Barton at 541-499-0950.
This is News Talk 1063 KMED and you're waking up with the Bill
Myers show. I had a listener who wrote me yesterday and I read their email and
they were talking about Bill.
They're still discussing, you know, even people supporting the president are still
talking about 10, 11 million illegal aliens residing within the United States.
And after the Biden administration's three, four year open border policy, it has to be
a lot more than that.
What is the real number?
Well, I thought, okay, great.
Let's call up the Federation for American Immigration Reform, FAIRUS.org, a great organization.
I've been involved with them off and on for many years.
And Hannah Davis is a research analyst there.
Good morning, Hannah.
Welcome to the show.
Morning.
Thanks for having me.
All right.
So you end up going out there and gathering all sorts of data and you put it all together and you actually have an answer now. There's a new report out on
fairus.org. Tell us a little bit about that please. Yeah so we've gathered that
the the current illegal alien population is not 10 or 11 million it's not even
15 it's 18.6 million. To put that in perspective that's the highest ever.
That's twice as large as the city
of New York. And basically it's gone up since 2020. The illegal alien population has gone up by about
28%. That's about 4 million. It's wild. It's absolutely wild. So almost a third of the illegal
aliens residing in the United States right now came just in the last four or five years, right?
Yes. Wow.
How do you end up gathering that together?
How do you even figure that out in some form?
Well, that's the funny thing.
We usually use CBP and USCIS statistics as well as the Census Bureau.
And then we realized that the Census Bureau's calculations were wrong.
We didn't say anything about it.
And then in December of last year, the
Census Bureau went ahead and released a statement saying, hey, you know what?
We've miscalculated. And it wasn't by just a couple hundred thousand. They
miscalculated by well over two million. And we already knew that, but
we're glad that they went out and said it. Basically, the previous administration
was letting migrants in so quickly that the Census Bureau just
couldn't keep up. They couldn't count them with their traditional methods and they actually
ended up switching up their methodology.
And essentially the Biden administration was clowered pivoting the country when it comes
to even trying to figure out how many illegals that we had here, right? That's just the
bottom line, just overloaded the system, right?
Yes.
Wow. Basically, you know, and they had us a snow the whole time, you know, open border advocates
in the mainstream media until Trump took office just were under calculating or not talking
about it at all.
And it's sad to say, but the majority of America's population growth comes almost entirely from
unsustainably high levels of immigration, both legal and illegal.
Do you think that might have been, I don't know if you can draw a conclusion from this, might that
been one of the concerns that open borders crowd people had is that there's
not enough Native Americans actually, Native-born Americans actually being
born, you know, and so if we're going to pay Social Security and all the rest of
it we need more people and so open borders? Or was there something darker? Any thoughts on that?
Yeah, a small sect of them may have thought that way. I do think that the majority of open
border advocates take a humanitarian approach. They think that we shouldn't believe in borders,
that we have, that immigration is not a privilege, it's a right. And I think that's the majority of
the approach that the left and open border advocates tend
to take, but that may be something that a small sect of them may align with.
Yeah, that's astounding that somebody thinks that they have a right to bring
their family here and put them in the school district that I'm taxed to pay for.
You know, I just love that.
Oh yeah, it's affecting Oregon too, where you're at. I mean, there we reported back in 2023, and I can't imagine what the numbers are going
to be when we finally do it again.
But back in 2023, we stated that there was over 250,000 illegal aliens, including their
children living in Oregon, which cost Oregon taxpayers $1.47 billion in 2023 alone. 1.47 billion and that's two years ago probably even more
expensive this year now. It's going to be. It has to be. When are you going to recalculate the numbers
do you know Overt Fair? Yeah well in the summer the Census Bureau although we're a little wary
of their statistics now they'll come out with state-level populations and information on that.
And from that, we can do another report.
Yeah.
All right.
Now, according to the numbers that you gave me just now from 2023, it sounds that, and
given that Oregon is just a little over 4 billion, what, 4.2, 4.4 billion, 4.4 million,
rather, people, we're a relatively small state, 250,000 illegal aliens, that's about one out of every 16 people in this state.
Isn't that really where we are right now when it comes to illegal alien representation?
Yeah, and you know, Oregon, you're right, it's a smaller populated state, but that kind
of reflects what the entire foreign-born population is for America.
I mean, we're at 16.6% right
now. That's higher than the peak of Ellis Island times. I mean, the foreign-born population,
I mean, it's high, and so it reflects even on the state level.
Hannah Davis is a research analyst at the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
I appreciate you coming on and checking in here. What is the latest immigration news that we should be watching at when it comes to, well I know
the big thing has been about can the president actually deport these
individuals? What is Fair US's stance on all of this right now? Yeah, you know,
we've got a couple good articles about the Garcia case out right now. We do
believe that, you know, he came here fraudulently here fraudulently back in, gosh, it was years ago, I think over a decade ago he came here. He fought his deportation up to the very end. He's been tied to domestic violence. He's been tied to human and labor trafficking. And we do think that his deportation was necessary for the safety of the country. All right. The court seems to be having a, or taking a dim view of something like this.
Have you been hearing calls, like I have been, that some are asking that President Trump
suspend the writ of habeas corpus?
Has Fairbairn been looking at that story?
I'm seeing that...
I'm not too privy on that.
I do know people are saying that, you know, there's issues with due process in this case,
and that may be true, but at this time it's a jurisdictional issue.
We can't get them back even if we wanted to.
Okay.
How many hearings would it take if we were to actually...
Would it take 19, 20 million hearings to deport this, or would you have people deported in
families too with one kind of hearing if
you were to do something like this?
If it got to the point, if you're supposed to give due process to every illegal alien
in the entire country before they're allowed to be deported, what would that take?
Yeah, I mean if we were going to do it that way, there'd be millions and millions and
the courts would be wrapped up and I don't even think we'd have time to take care of our own US citizens because the courts would be so busy.
The issue of family separation is a hot topic. Typically, you know, when people are deported and individuals deported, we don't deport their entire family. They typically choose to bring their family back with them.
Okay.
So yeah, that's typically how that goes. All right. Where can people find out more on the
fairus.org site? Where can they get that latest illegal alien population report? Is there a special
section? If you click the research tab, it's the top one. It might be the one right at the second
top. And then of course, all latest information, blogs, and op-eds and articles are going to be
on the main page if you scroll down a little bit. So some good stuff on there. All right. Hannah Davis from the Federation for American Immigration
Reform, FerryUS.org. Hannah, thank you for giving us a good solid number. I just want to make sure.
18.5 million. That's the real... 18.6, yep. 18.6, close it up. We'll just call it 19. We'll round it
up, okay? All right. Thanks a bunch. Take care care. Bye bye. It's 648 at KMED.

10 before 7. Ken, Ken Svilliger. Bill, why are you stepping all over Holly Morton? Let
her talk, dude. Okay, hey, relax. Sometimes I have to move things along, folks. I love
people who've never done a talk radio show who think that they know how to do a talk
radio show. And where you sometimes how to do a talk radio show
All right, and where you sometimes have to wrap stuff up
I've other people that say well you cut me off before I got to my main point or something like that get to your main point
first
Okay, that's all I'm saying all right and
You know a lot of folks do not understand that there are time constraints. You have to get in and out of things.
And there are times that you can be very relaxed about it and let someone just go on and go
on and go on.
Holly and I are friends.
We get along really well.
And yeah, I suppose maybe I did talk over here a little bit, but this is the part of
a real conversation.
It's give and take.
And sometimes someone interjects
and this is the way it is.
It's not blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
for two minutes and then blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, for two minutes
and then blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
for another two minutes.
It's not the way it works.
Okay, all right.
And especially when you're on a phone sometimes
it's difficult because you don't realize,
you don't always hear the interjection coming the other way.
So my apologies, Holly, but Holly knows that I have no moan against her, okay?
There we go.
She's a big girl.
All right.
770-5633-770-KMED.
We can join in.
I wanted to bring up something which is, I think, pretty interesting.
And there is a call right now for President Trump to suspend the writ of habeas corpus
when it comes to illegal immigration.
The writ of habeas corpus.
And we're talking about people like Stephen Bannon.
Steve Bannon and other people are calling for heads to roll.
They're really upset that they're not seeing a whole bunch of trials or investigations
going on, etc.
Other people are saying, hey, you got to fight back against this illegal immigration hoard.
You're not going to be able to do 18.6 million hearings to do something like this.
And so what they're calling for is in the Constitution.
And I just went to my handy dandy little pocket Constitution, which I keep right next to the
controlled word here.
Here it is.
Which article is it in?
Let me just make it...
Okay, here we go.
Article 1, Section 9.
Here we go.
Section 9.
The migration or importation of such persons as any of the states now existing
Shall think proper to admit shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the year
1808 but a tax or duty may be imposed on such importation not exceeding ten dollars for each person. Okay, there's a head tax fine
This is the main thing of article 1 section 9 The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus,
in other words, the due process, the hearing, shall not be suspended unless, when in cases
of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it. The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus
shall not be suspended unless when in the case of rebellion or invasion the
public safety may require it. There are many folks in the MAGA world now they
are calling for this meaning that President Trump should suspend the writ
of habeas corpus for anybody involved in a deportation. That's what they're calling for this meaning that President Trump should suspend the writ of habeas corpus for anybody involved in a deportation. That's what they're asking
for. It's kind of a nuclear option and by the way it's been suspended before in
the past by past presidents. President Lincoln ended up suspending that during
the Civil War. Various other presidents have done this during time of war too.
Do you think the illegal immigration issue, and especially with the way the judiciary
treats this right now, oh, you know, everybody, we don't vet anybody coming in, but boy,
we sure have to vet everybody you want to throw out, right?
You know, that's kind of what we're living in under right now.
Would you call that an invasion?
And do you think President Trump should use this part of the Constitution? It's right in there.
In case of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it. What do you think?
I think it's something worthy of discussion. That's a big nuclear option
though, isn't it? Do we need to go there, you think?
We can talk about that, anything else on your mind too.
770-5633.
Good morning, this is Bill, who's this?
Yeah, Ron Graspas.
Hello, Ron.
Say, in reference to this subject you've been talking about, I think that the people who
came across the border
did not use the naturalization due process
that it takes for a person to become a citizen
and swear to be a US citizen.
Yeah, or even frankly to be a legal resident alien.
They didn't do that either.
Correct, and so therefore they do not deserve due process
because they did not come in
under the due process because they did not come in under the due
process requirements. So I think they should be, like you've been saying,
declared an invader and use the Constitution and the president has to
declare an invasion in order to put that part of the Constitution into effect.
Okay, so you would agree then with the suspension of habeas corpus, but
isn't there a real risk that something like that could be abused? Well, when you
got 18 million people in your border that you don't know their background or
maybe there's a, and probably there's a lot of people who want to do a serious
harm and even death to America as you hear from Iran's leadership, and there's
a bunch of them that came over here. All they need to do is wipe out some of our
infrastructure and kill our power supply for example and we're all done. So we
need to do something serious. This is an invasion and I think that we
need to do something quickly. Well I think you could agree with you that it's been an invasion
It was actually a you know quasi legal invasion done by the by the administration
You just collapse and you just take everybody in that's permitting
Well to me that would be treasonous behavior, but you know treason doesn't get talked about these days
You know that right?
One of the one of the thing I want to bring up and that is that President Biden and all his
folks brought in this voluntarily and on purpose. And so any murders, any things
that happen against the people are against him because he's one of the
parties that allowed it to come in as the head of the nation.
Yeah, all right. Thank you, Ron. I appreciate the call. 7705633.
Talk about anything on your mind this morning for Conspiracy Theory Thursday,
but I was bringing up this writ of habeas corpus, article 1, section 9.
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended unless
when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.
Okay.
Do you go with that kind of nuclear option? What do you think?
Hi, good morning. Who's this? Hi, Gene. What's going on in your world today?
Well, I've got a few things to say. Okay. I agree with Ron Smith. They should be
declared responsible for all the crimes and the ones who let them in. And they should also have to pay
the expenses that they have cost the American people. But to get back to
Josephine County, when did Gold Hill move in to Josephine County?
Okay, one more time. Jean, I couldn't understand you there. Could you repeat that sentence again, please?
When did Gold Hill move into Jackson County, or to Josephine County? I thought it was in Jackson.
So what the hell is her nose doing in Josephine County?
What, are you talking about former commissioner Morgan. I wouldn't even give her that honor because she wasted so much taxpayer
money when she was here.
Well, you know, Lily Morgan is the city manager of Gold Hill.
That's why.
Yeah.
She, she still lives in Josephine County, but is the,
well, yeah.
So what the hell was her nose doing in Josephine County?
Well, she still is a resident of Josephine County, even though she works
in in Gold Hill.
She should live in Gold Hill.
That's where she works.
And as far as that goes,
she's already proved which party she has moved to.
She's not the Republican she's supposed to be.
So why in the hell would we want five commissioners that are all
Democrat here?
All right.
And sufficient for that too.
All right, Gene, I appreciate it.
And are you grumpy today or a different name?
I'm not grumpy.
How about rebellion?
Oh, okay.
Rebellious, Gene.
There we go.
Operate, or maybe it's odd, Gene You know, there's that that that oppositional defiance disorder,
the odd thing that the psychiatrists were talking about.
Thanks, Gene.
Oh, this is KMED, KMED, HD1, Eagle Point, Medford, KBXG, Grants Pass, seven o'clock.
I'll grab another call here before town hall news.
Good morning.
Hi.
Hi Bill.
Dave.
How are you?
I'm fine, Dave.
What is on your mind this Thursday?
Well, look, I don't think the habeas corpora, that route, doing that would be the right
thing to do.
You don't.
And here's why.
Could you make a case for that?
A really cogent case for that?
Sure, you could.
But let's just go up a few thousand feet.
You look at the Democratic Party right now,
and they seem to be willing to die
on this hill of this low life in Maryland, who they're trying to turn into, trying to
grant him sainthood, when everybody knows who he is.
So my point is the Democratic Party is imploding right in front of us.
And if you do this habeas corpus thing, it'll just go into the courts forever, which just completely plays into their hands
That's all they have left. Yeah
What would it go into the court if the president using the constitutional party there to suspend it just suspends it bill
What is what every what do you think everything else he's doing is going into the courts?
You think it's just going to fly through?
Yeah, you could be right about that. All right. Hey, just thought I'd ask though. That's why I'm asking the question.
Yeah, you just give them fresh meat. Okay, let them keep doing what they're doing. I mean,
I know there's a sense of urgency before the midterms and all that. I get that. Let them
keep doing what they're doing. They're going to continue to implode. I appreciate the call. Thank
you for making that 7705633. I'll grab a couple more here before news.
Like I said, it's Conspiracy Theory Thursday. I'll air to you.
Good morning. Hi, who's this?
Morning Bill, Steve in Sunny Valley.
Hi Steve.
Yeah, I just,
I'm saddened to see all of these
conservatives
giving fodder in Josephine County to the pink hat ladies and
the crazies who don't believe in the outcome of election.
Do you think that that's part of what's going on you believe?
Really?
Oh, I think that the opposition is using any wedge they can and some people are just so caught up in the minutiae that
they don't...I mean, Liz Cheney thought she was a good conservative, and she destroyed
the party and she was kicked out.
Simon Hare has already shown that he's got wonderful judgment.
I mean, getting drunk at a titty bar in Eugene and wrecking his car at an ATM.
Let's look at where this information is coming from.
Well, I don't want to, you know, Simon Harris errors, which of course he fell on his sword
a number of years ago over those incidents, okay? I wanna be fair with all people.
He may be right.
We don't know if he's right about this though.
All I'm calling for is take a breath
and let's let this play out.
I think there's more yet to come
from the Josephine County Commission here.
They've got some tough stuff that they've gotta cut.
They have no choice but to cut.
And I wanna see what plans they are looking at cut. They have no choice but to cut. And I
want to see what plans they are looking at. And if they're going to
try to pay a county administrator $400 or a half million a year, I don't
know if that'll pass muster with the people. If they try to do that.
Okay, all right. I don't think they want to do that. They're conservatives. We never know though.
So let's just wait.
All I can tell you is what people have told me. Commissioner Ron Smith said that that's
not what's going on. Other people will say, hey, I have witnesses that say it is going
on. And then Simon Harris says, well, here's this piece of paper that says Michael Sellers
and it all totals up to 388,000. I don't know what to say. I like and respect so many of these people.
I'm just saying don't give the pink hat weirdos any energy. Let's withhold judgment.
Alright, appreciate the call. Thank you for that Steve.
And one more and then town hall news coming up. Hi, who's this?
Good morning.
Hey Bill.
Hi.
Good morning, it's Deplorable Vatridge. I'll be quick. Hi, who's this? Good morning. Hey Bill. Hi. Good morning, it's
Deplorable Patrick. I'll be quick. Hi DP. I think it was on Dr. Steve Turley. He
had Wayne Allen Ruth on, forthrightly asserting that the reason for all this
love, like this Senator Van Hollen going down there because they love that Tinder Agua guy, MS-13 guy.
He doesn't love him, he loves the money
he's being bribed with by the cartels.
The cartels are bribing these people.
They're our favorite, Donkey in high heels, AOC.
Their foreign bank accounts are getting fat
because the cartels are bribing them
to go the way they are and let these people in and defend them. Do you think they
actually have proof of this though because they behave like people who have
been bribed by the cartel, okay? But that doesn't mean that they necessarily are.
You know, let's look up Wayne Alan Root and see what he might have to say in more
detail. All right, I might buzz him up then. It's been a while since I've talked with Wayne. All
right, appreciate the call. Thank you Bill. Thank you DP. KMED, KMED, HD1, Eagle
Point, Medford, KBXG, Grants Pass. And we're gonna be talking more about this
well I guess the point is Bannon and a bunch of other mega folks are saying
that the deep state has already won or is winning right now.
Is this true?
Where might we go?
Do you have to go nuclear option like suspension of habeas corpus and all that sort of good
stuff or bad stuff like many people would think?
We'll talk about that coming up.
Okay?
Hang on.
