Great to have you here this Monday, April 28th, 44 degrees, kind of a chilly start,
but it's going to be a nice day up into the low 70s or so.

Hey, today we're gonna be talking with Dr. Robert Marbitt
tomorrow, Fentanyl Awareness Day in the United States.
And we're gonna talk about just how aware
we're all taking it seriously at this point.
I know that Dr. Marbet ended up speaking at the
Patriots Conference in Josephine County a few weeks ago and I've had him on the
program from the Discovery Channel, Discovery Institute in Seattle.
And we'll have a good conversation about that coming up. Dr. Jane Orient, MD, will
be on the show a little bit after seven o'clock. We're going to talk about this announcement that RFK Jr. is
going to get to the cause of autism by September, and that
they're going to be getting all of the various data points
together, and from all sources that they can, come up with the
best way of looking at this.
I'll be interested in just how
realistic that is. This is, I mean, there's a lot of theories. A lot of people have
some some smart theories about it. RFK Jr. tends to believe that it is about, if I
understand correctly, I've read a few articles about this, that this is more
about environmental toxins. Well, could the environmental toxins also include
toxins in vaccines? I don't know. We'll talk with Dr. Jane Orient about that this morning.
State Senator Noah Robinson is going to pop on the show around 7 30 and wants to talk about House
Bill 3624. House Bill 3624. And I haven't heard much about this one, but this is something which is apparently bubbling
into his chamber right now.
And he's into education a lot.
He's on that committee in the Senate.
And apparently the state of Oregon is looking to, well, it desires to register all homeschooled children.
Yes, all homeschooled kids must be registered with the State Department of Education, with
your local school district, is appearing to be the way it is looking.
And it's fascinating that with House Bill 3624, Senator Robinson
saying that the state of Oregon wants to register home school children, children
who are educated at home. And it's kind of ironic when you think about it given
that the state of Oregon's Department of Education and the public education,
public schools are what? Public schools what? 45 depending on some ranking, 46, 47, 48th in the nation
depending on which survey you know you're looking at. And they're concerned
about the education of homeschool kids who by all accounts seem to be way ahead of the public
schools. We're getting the good education on a lot less time too. I
mean maybe we're looking at a situation where education is now filling
the time allotted rather than really what is necessary for what's being
taught. I don't know. I don't have any kids in the in the school system at
this point and was not able to educate know. I don't have any kids in the school system at this point.
And was not able to educate. Well, I didn't have custody of my children, so I wasn't able to educate them myself. But be that as it may, I find it interesting that the state is really looking to
get them registered and they wanted to do a bunch of testing. They want to do testing. At the same time, I
also think that there's another bill in the state legislature that wants to
mandate that everyone, no matter where, gets taught human-caused global warming
in government schools. Hmm. Oh, okay. So they have peer-reviewed absolute proof, right? We have controlled scientific
methods of being able to determine this one, right? Okay. So we'll talk with Noah about
that. And of course, where past meets present, Dr. Dennis Powers will be joining me after
8 o'clock. Always good conversation. I just appreciate you being here too. If you wanted to join in, 770-563-377-OK-MED.
You know, in the midst of all the news over the weekend, I had to give you probably the
dimmest, the dimmest bulb news of the weekend. And it ended in tragedy, unfortunately.
A St. Louis woman killed over the weekend Saturday
night. She was twerking on the roof of a Cadillac Escalade. This was in downtown St. Louis. She was
twerking, fell off the Cadillac Escalade, run over by a St. Louis fire truck headed to an emergency.
Very sad. Happened about 1130 at night on Saturday night in
downtown St. Louis. Now I just know that generally speaking, if I were to look up
of things that will likely have you joining the Darwin Club, twerking on the
roof of a Cadillac Escalade in downtown St. Louis, most likely
intoxicated is probably not one of the ways to live a
long healthy life.
Just thought I would mention that.
Hopefully your weekend went better.
And this is the Bill Meyers Show.

The road gardener, not a big fan of spraying for weeds,
maybe with one exception.
If you're dealing with a bunch of difficult
to control weeds like Bermuda grass,
knock those down with glyphosate, I should say,
like Roundup, and you could do that spraying,
but don't neglect the fact that now you have
at least three and possibly even four seasons of weed seeds in that ground wanting to come up. The Rogue Gardeners
Saturdays 10 to noon Sunday morning Encore at 9, sponsored by Grange Co-op on KMED.
Hi I'm Paul Strandberg with Valley View Nursery and I'm on KMED.
18 minutes after 6 7 7 0 5 6 3 3 some of the other headlines we have this morning.
Well, it's not a headline,
but a good crowd showing up at my house on Saturday.
Good group from Josephine County.
We do these fundraisers
for the Jackson County Republican Party
and Josephine County Republican Party.
We did the Jackson County one a couple of weeks ago.
That was a lot of fun.
And a lot of folks from Joe County showing up,
including Herman Bershiger drop by.
It's great. We had strata and nice food and drink and all that sort of good stuff.
A couple of hours. That was fun.
And of course, at the table I was sitting at there, a lot of people talking about what was going on with the situation in Josephine County in the County Commission.
Of course, that was a big topic of conversation. I'm not going to name any names, but it was still interesting. It's going to be a top of mind concern
and I'll be curious to see, I think we're all going to be curious to see what is going on here
over the next few weeks. Now, Michael Sellers was on my show Friday at 810 and we were talking about
this. We didn't get a chance to discuss much I don't know
if you have a particular opinion on what you heard I know a number of people
wrote me and said that he sounded you know unsure or nervous one person Betty
wrote me and said that well I think that his answers to the you know the
situation on whether there's a contract being done and whether there was, you know, what the pay was, etc. etc.
And I figured that out on the fly, you know, that sort of thing.
She said it sounded scripted.
Betty, I don't know if it sounded scripted, but I know that this is all going into the
legal situation right now.
But the way it was explained to me at this party, and I think that makes a
lot of sense, we'll see where this ends up going here, is that the claims that Simon
Hare made last week in his noisy resignation letter was that there was an outside council
hired to do a negotiation to get arguably some kind of multimillion
dollar contract, or worse to that effect, something in that neighborhood, to Michael
Sellers. And Michael denied that any of that was going on. And I was reminded from some
people who I trust, I'll just leave their names out of it right now, but saying, hey, listen, that anything that was going on still would have had to go through County Council
Wally Hicks. And I hadn't thought about that. I think they're absolutely right. No matter what
kind of claims there were about outside counsel, there's no way that this one could have been
slid by without anybody knowing about it because
it still wouldn't be anything without Wally Hicks County Council signing off on it.
I thought that sounds like a reasonable theory, doesn't it sound like that to you?
All I'm just saying at this point, and remember I said hold your breath and just kind of take a deep breath and let this play out.
That big claims, and Simon made some big claims, need big evidence.
And I still haven't seen what I would call to be big evidence.
Now maybe there is big evidence out there and it just hasn't been discovered yet.
But there are big claims and big talk, not necessarily big evidence out there and it just hasn't been discovered yet. But there are big claims and
big talk, not necessarily big evidence. And just about everybody in this story has a dog in the
fight. This is my opinion. Everyone has it. Naturally, Michael Sellers is going to be
ambitious and try to get as much money as he can in his career because that's what he's doing
over county. I understand that. That's what people do. They're going to work and try to get as much money as he can in his career because that's what he's doing over county. I understand that. It's what people do. They're going to work and try to get the
biggest thing. The county commission, of course, is trying to right size the county and get
it to match the money coming in. And there's a lot of hurt feelings about this. Chris Barnett and Ron Smith ended up
tasking Andreas Bleck to do the the Hatchet Man work supposedly, you know,
the way it works. I think the problem with doing that, this is just my opinion
again, just my opinion, is that it gives the opinion that you want the dirty
work done but you don't want to have your own
fingerprints on it. Or maybe it would be too difficult because we have to sit around and
debate about it and this and that and the other. Listen though, that's what open transparent
government is all about. Sometimes you have to debate and deal with the hard stuff. So,
I don't know. Maybe they'll change things around and be able to make this work.
The one thing I think that the general consensus from a lot of folks at the Josephine County
group that, well, this is going to probably be a recall election anyway, because Josephine
County, frankly, is turning into some version of Gold Hill.
Remember, Gold Hill had a recall election, I think, about every 90 days that was going
on.
And so the idea is that the County Commission just needs to do what it needs to do to get
expenses in line with the income.
They got to do it.
It's not going to be fun.
Transparency, transparency, transparency.
If I had to suggest one word, be as transparent as possible and do as little behind the scenes
as you can.
That's all I would say.
Okay?
All right.
So that's probably, you know, top political story here still in Southern Oregon.
7705633770KMED. Other news of national and world import.
Now it looks like we had a crazy guy drive into a crowd of pedestrians during that festival over
in Vancouver, BC, Saturday night. Killed at least 11, probably going to be more than that.
And you know, the first thing that went through my head is that, of course, Canada, oh, you know the first thing went through my head is that of course Canada, oh, you know, we have to be inclusive and diverse and have equity be equity.
And so apparently we have to have, hey, just like Oregon in many places, you need to have
crazy people roaming the streets because it is morally superior way to run the country.
You always have crazy people roaming the streets ready to do
particular mayhem just in case. But that is what it's looking like right now.
In fact, the guy even afterwards, he was known to police, known to be mentally ill,
and of course known to be walking the streets. And so he took a vehicle and is
alleged to have killed at least 11. It's probably going to end up being more as
time goes on. Yes, this is what happens when society decides that it's morally superior to let people who
really can't take care of themselves and shouldn't be on the streets wander the streets.
But that's just me.
We had Judge Duggan.
FBI has arrested Milwaukee Judge Hannah Duggan.
We'll talk with Dr. Powers about this after 8 o'clock.
Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan. We'll talk with Dr. Powers about this after 8 o'clock. And Judge Hannah Dugan, and they claim that she intentionally misdirected
federal immigration agents away from a man they were trying to take into
custody at her courthouse, judge's arrest on Friday, escalating a pretty big clash
between the Trump administration and the judges over Republican presidents
sweeping immigration crackdowns. Dugan appeared briefly
in federal court on Friday before being released. Let me tell you, mouth like a torn pocket.
I looked at her, here's a guy I used to work with Ron Matthews years ago, which used to describe
some people, said, boy, a guy's got a mouth like a torn pocket. Judge Dugan, man, that's a mouth
like a torn pocket. Could you imagine being in that court all the time? But anyway, her next court appearance is going to be May 15th.
Criminal complaint unsealed on this one, so it's going to be a big deal. Democrats, of
course, responding to this, they're not real happy, like a line is being crossed. This
isn't all that complex to be. We're always told, in fact we were told time and time again
by Democrats under the Trump administration that no one is above the law. Oh, you're trying to tell
me that someone's above the law if they wear the black robe? No, I wouldn't say so. Pretty simple
story. And if she ends up, you know, getting popped so much. I mean, we also had another former New
Mexico judge and his wife arrested on charges of tampering with evidence linked to a suspected Tren de Aragua
member. Yeah, former Doña Ana County Magistrate Judge Jose Luis Cano, also known as Joel Cano,
facing federal charges of tampering with evidence. His wife Nancy charged with conspiracy to tamper with evidence, this according to CNN.
The migrant, Cristian Ortega Lopez, Venezuelan, charged earlier this year for unlawful possession
of a firearm or ammunition court documents show.
Well, you know, we need Venezuelan gangbanger equity.
We need more hanging out in New Mexico.
Ay, ay, ay.
You know, this kind of nonsense,
and I know that, well, you know, we're just being brave. You know, sure, there may be gang
bangers and these people may be, you know, beating on people and everything else, but, you know,
they're trying to be good Americans. Migrants, migrants, migrants. This drives me to term that. Every time you hear
migrant in the news media, they always ignore the illegal side of it. Just migrant. It's
just someone that just came in here just like your relatives did when they came in and were
working the coal mines. Bill, back in the late 1800s. Same sort of thing. No, no, they went through Ellis
Island, they were checked out, and by the way, Ellis Island officials gave my Yakshi side of the
family an anglicized name. This is how you're going to spell Yakshi, because Y-A-C-Z-S-J-I,
or whatever, however it was spelled, that didn't fly. That didn't fly. It's gonna be Y-A-K-S-H-E. Welcome.
You're welcome.
That was a migrant.
Yes, my great grandfather, that was a migrant.
Sometimes it makes your teeth hurt, doesn't it?
28 after six.
I think this is Francine.
Francine, you're kicking the week off.
How are you doing this morning? Good morning, Bill. I'm doing well, thank you.
What's going on?
Well, over the weekend I had a conversation with my dear friend who is very Democrat,
and she asked me, what do I think of these red cards? And I said, I don't know what a red card is. And she explained it, it was a little, it was cards that are being handed out to the migrants
so they'll know their legal rights if approached by ICE,
that sort of thing.
Which to me, it's basically the same thing
as our pocket constitution that everybody was, you know,
making a big deal over for a while.
You know, okay.
So, and she was insisting that it is illegal
for these people to be arrested and taken by ICE without a warrant. And I don't know, I've been
trying to figure that out. I've been like trying to research this, but without going crazy and doing
it, you know, spending my entire life on the internet. Um, internet. I'm not sure what the status of this is. I did
send her a link to fairus.org and asked her to spend it. She says,
oh, I'll read your letter. I said, it's not a letter, dear. It's a whole site and you need to
look at it a little bit too, because she was accusing people of just all being racist and
hating people from other countries and that kind of stuff. You know, I tried to explain to her.
The one thing that would kind of strike me is that ICE wouldn't really have the attention of
these people unless there was something hinky going on.
Well, yeah, but I mean, they do make mistakes and the mistakes that they have made, that's all these
people are aware of, you know what I'm saying? And I'm trying to explain...
Oh, by the way, you know, did she bring up the thing about, oh, the two-year-old American citizen was
deported?
Did she talk about that?
No, she probably hadn't heard that one yet.
Oh, okay.
I just wanted to let you know, though, so everybody else knows about this too, the mother
chose to take the child with her because she was deported and is allowed to come back at
a later time because that child is an American citizen but didn't want to just be deported and is allowed to come back at a later time because that child is an American citizen,
but didn't want to just be deported and leave her child at home or back in the United States.
Right. Yeah. No, I understand. I'll give her this much, my friend. Once we got done screaming and
yelling at each other and calm down, we actually had
a good exchange and she was being open as I was trying to be open to her, but I could
not get her to understand one thing that I think is really different between the left
and the right.
The left only pays attention to what the left says and the left controls the media.
The people on the right, we hear both because
we're bombarded by the media, but we're also interested in looking into things much deeper.
Yeah, we hear from our own people and we're bombarded with the mainstream. Yeah.
Right. So I think we have a more rounded point of view and I'm not trying to just say, oh,
well, we're better than you, but it's the truth. And I can't get her to comprehend that, you know.
But like I said, I will give her, you know, a few kudos for being willing to at least she's going to look at sparrows.org. I hope she said she will. You know what I was going to do here,
Francie, if you don't mind me interjecting here. No, go ahead. I could say no.
I just received from Carolyn Levitt, you know, I'm on her email list being a member of the
media, you know, that sort of thing.
Right, right.
The White House popped me an email this morning from Carolyn Levitt about, and you know, they're
getting out in front of this messaging.
All these people that they have arrested over the last few weeks, there's
like a hundred of them, a hundred criminal dirtbags here. And there were, of course,
there were already warrants for their arrest. They were wanted, they were supposed to have
been deported, they came back in, all these other sort of things. Would you like me to
forward that to you? Would that be helpful?
Yes, yes, it would. I'd like to, if people have been arrested with warrants,
I want her to see that because her impression is that they're just going around grabbing people.
Well, the other thing is that she does realize that if you are a legal immigrant,
you have paperwork that says you're authorized to be here.
Right, but apparently what they're running on is the fact that and I went I did
go look at something about the Congressional thing. I started reading it on the Ferris
this morning, but I had to stop because you came on the air. But it did mention something
about warrants and it didn't. they're all claiming that everybody has the
right to, you know, the same rights in terms of if we're going to be arrested
we're supposed to have a warrant for that or whatever unless we're
caught in the middle of a crime or something like that, you know what I mean?
So I mean, I don't know, I'm not a legal expert. Yeah, I know this is the
claim that 18 and a half million people
who were never authorized to be here, you're going to have to do 18 and a half million hearings
in order to deport these individuals, right? If you were assuming that you were going to go out of
it. Trump administration has been concentrating on the dirtiest of the dirt bags first. Okay?
Yeah. But they're not getting that. Like I tried to explain to her, like
this guy that got taken to El Salvador that won't be given back, that he, you
know, he is a dirtbag. And she said, I don't believe that that's not true. And
Trump is paying them to keep him. I said, why would they keep him if he's a
good guy? Why would they not let him out of prison, at least let him roam free in
El Salvador? She says, oh, because Trump is paying El Salvador to
these people. And I didn't even know how to respond to that. Yeah, well I think the
main thing is that it's cheaper to keep in El Salvador than to keep it in a US
prison, okay? And that's the main thing. And plus he is an El Salvador citizen.
Right. Where better to keep an El Salvador criminal than an El Salvador jail? Works for me. Okay? Yeah, all right. All right. Any input on this I
would really appreciate hearing throughout the morning. All right, we'll do.
Thank you. Thanks, Bill. Bye. Thank you, Francine. 635 at KMED.
Maybe we need some fentanyl. Let's spread around some fentanyl, fentanyl awareness.
Dr. Robert Marbott will join me here in just a moment.
Guys, Guns is happy to let you know because of all the pushback
the state of Oregon has received from voters, Measure 114 has been put on hold

What that means is you're able to get just about
whatever you need or want in the way of firearms and magazines,
either standard or low-capacity 10-round.
They're ordering every day.

Dr. Robert Marvitt joins me, renowned expert on homelessness, senior fellow at Discovery
Institute Center on Wealth and Poverty, PhD in Political Behavior at American Political
Institutions. A PhD in Political Behavior. Boy, you must have a great time analyzing this country right now, Doctor.
Welcome back to the show.
Absolutely.
Need therapy some days.
Yeah, I imagine so.
It's kind of funny, we were just talking about, as an example, these judges that are deciding
to actually hide criminals from ICE enforcement,
you know, that sort of thing.
It's, I don't know what kind of, well, political behavior, I guess some would consider that
brave, others would just say, hey, wait a minute, I thought you're supposed to be all
for the rule of law, right?
You ever run that through your lens sometimes? Yeah, and I think what you're seeing, even what I'd call the moderate left or left to
center, middle left, whatever you want to call it, they're starting to really break
away from that sort of wokey extremism and they're realizing that the lack of common
sense not only is not good for policy, but it's not good for politics.
And they continue to lose elections unless they come back to the middle. And I think they're
starting to realize that. Yeah, I think it's going to be a tough sell. It's going to be a tough sell.
You had to go down that road much longer. I wanted to talk a bit about tomorrow, tomorrow's National Fentanyl Awareness Day. You've written about this
quite often here and because so much of the homelessness that we're
dealing with right now, this has been your wheelhouse. You were here at the
Patriots Conference not that long ago in southern Oregon and you've talked with
me about it several times here. But fentanyl is a big one now is everyone aware of fentanyl at this point or are
they thinking it's just another yet just another drug not that big of a deal how
do you see it on this national fentanyl awareness day which is actually tomorrow
I think everybody gets about fentanyl in general but what they don't understand is how powerful
and potent it can happen to you, even if you're not a drug dealer.
There are a couple of data points that I always like sharing.
Not that it's good news, but it just shocks you.
Fentanyl is the fastest growing cause of death for children zero to four.
Just think about that. Zero to four?
Zero to four. These are not drug dealers. These are people calling drug dealers. These are just
people who are dying, children dying because the fentanyl dust has just left, whether it's out in a public park
or a restaurant or in a private home. And the potency, you know, one grain of rice
will kill 15 people, an equivalent of fentanyl. And I think that's what a lot
of people don't understand. And then there are other people who are like, you
know, smoking weed, doing what they perceive
as lower end drugs, K2 spice, something like that. And it's dosed with fentanyl either purposely or
accidentally because the same people are making your weed or also making fentanyl and they're not
in a white glove laboratory keeping contamination away. There's a lot of cross cross-pollination so to speak
between the various drugs they're making. Absolutely. Cross-contamination across
different illicit drugs and the DEA thinks that about 70% of all illicit
drugs have fentanyl in it now. 70%? That's just mind boggling. Almost three out of four.
You know, are we, by the way, do you know if it's actually on the cash?
I remember back in the day when cocaine was the latest scourge, talked about sort of like
during Miami Vice era.
You think about that.
80s.
Yeah, the 1980s or so.
Yeah, lots of pastel colors in our clothes.
But no socks either.
Every hundred dollar bill had some coke in it.
That's what I remember reading about that.
Do we have that same sort of situation with the cash today or is it different now?
What do you think?
It's different because back then you used the hundred dollar bill to sort of toke or
snort your
coke. Fentanyl is not consumed that way. You actually put it on foil. This is
how it's mostly used, to put it on foil. You torch it underneath the foil and
then you breathe in the vapor. Straws are what are used now. And so
you don't get that cross-contamination
because the paper would melt or burn up or whatever.
So when you see then the homeless advocacy groups that go out to the various parks and
they talk about, well, we provide, whether it's clean needles for injectables or foil,
right? I've heard about foil being
provided. That's the purpose. That's why they're doing that. Exactly. And a lot of
people hand out everything from pipes to foil to straws. And my thing is, in
America, we have made it so easy to get high now and so hard to get treatment.
And we've got to flip that on its head
We need to say we should be spending every ounce of money and energy
Trying not to get people high and get people into treatment
Let's not make it easy to get to do the illicit drugs that will kill you that just makes no sense to me
Whatsoever is it only the blue states like Oregon, Dr. Marr, that are actually making it really easy
to get high?
And it does seem to be a societal judgment call that our government, to a lesser extent,
perhaps our voters, are making here too.
Or do even the red states have these kinds of problems too?
Fintanel is across everywhere now.
It is.
It's so prolific, it is everywhere.
But there is a policy difference.
It's the West Coast, the Northeast,
that's really making it easy to do fentanyl.
If you do fentanyl in places like Kansas City
or the Midwest, you still have to take a little effort to
go find it.
So maybe there's some speed humps that slow people down and ultimately hopefully save
some lives.
Whereas you go to San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, parts of LA, you can just go right
on the street and get fentanyl and be using it within two or three minutes and can be dead in two or three minutes.
I'm sorry to ask such a question, but is it relatively cheap? I'm kind of ignorant about that side of it.
If I were to go out on the streets right now and try to find fentanyl, do you know how much it would cost on average? Yes, and if you go back in 2014,
shortly after the Purdue Pharma collapse
of all the prescriptions there,
the Mexican cartels basically backfilled
that supply chain within 90 days.
And back then it was about $30 a pill, $30, $35 a pill.
Then it dropped dramatically to under a dollar
in most places of America during the Biden administration.
And it's interesting, it's already gone up, it's now because the borders are getting tighter,
both Canadian border and the Mexican border.
And so it's actually gone up in many parts of America.
It's running about 15 to $18.
And that's a sign that that supply is getting disruptive, which is great news because if
we could keep improving the disruption of the supply and getting people to stop consuming
it, that's how you ultimately beat this.
Dr. Marvitt, the situation I've been told that when it comes from Canada, a lot of
times precursors come from China into Canada where it's made. China's not
really sending pure fentanyl, is it? Or is it not? I've heard it's mostly been
about sending the chemicals to make it.
Not anymore. In the very beginning, like like 2012, 2013, 2014, they were sending finished supply, both the
pills and in powder.
And what happened was we were getting pretty successful at interdicting that because it
was bulky.
And they realized we could send, China could send the precursors to both
back then Mexico and now Canada too, and the precursors can be hidden in two
different ways. A, they're not as bulky, but B, sadly and unfortunately a lot of
the precursors are used in other things like cleaning the swimming pool product or Eric oil cleaning so they
can hide it and say it's for this other use and then it comes in and then is diverted
into the fentanyl manufacturing process.
Okay.
Dr. Robert Marvitt is with me once again from the Discovery Institute.
I have to take your call here.
Calvin, did you have a question here for Dr. Marbitt?
Go right ahead.
This is Vicki from the Applegate Exploiting Bill.
Yeah, Vicki, go ahead.
You have a question for the doctor?
Well, I do.
If you guys take the coffin-skated drugs that you get,
why can't you guys do kind of what they do with the chantix
for people who are stopping
smoking and just do like an undercover sting where you put the drug out there but make
it so it makes them so sick?
Because usually they go through withdrawals and they get sick if they don't have it.
What if you would add something to it to make them sick when they do take it? Oh, okay, this sounds like the anabuse that would be
used for alcohol. Right, but if you put it in the drug form and then that'll spread through the drug community and say,
oh my god, you know, every person we buy it from, we get sick. What do you think
about that, doctor? I don't know if you get into that kind of policy or not. Thank you, Vicki.
Well, you obviously have ethical questions of saying, because you're still what you're
still doing in that case, you're saying we're still supporting the use of fentanyl or coke
or meth, whatever it is.
I personally think on the street, the sad thing is most people that are doing fentanyl know it will kill them.
And that just shows you how strong that addiction is and the power of the craving, because they see friends dying.
And then they'll still go buy another hit, right? It's that powerful. And still go by it. And I would bet when you were doing your show five
years ago, you probably had very few callers who knew anybody who either used fentanyl or died of
fentanyl. When you and I were talking at the conference a few weeks ago, we all know people
now who had children die. And it's because the magnitude of the death toll, more people have died in fentanyl in
the last five years than all American war soldiers, men and women, Navy, Coast Guard,
merchant marine, all of that from World War II to Vietnam to Korea to Gulf War I, Gulf
War II, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, add them all up.
More people have died of fentanyl than 100 years of war.
Is there any way, like Vicki was talking about though, to develop a sort of anabuse drug
where you give it to recovering addicts that if they were to take it then they become violently
ill and then you end up getting sort sort of a aversion therapy of sorts. You know, how do you break an addiction that hard in
your knowledge and your expertise? And there's a lot of really smart
people working on that and not just that side of the equation but the other side
to reduce the cravings and really go through a medical detox because you can't have a
rational conversation with an addict who's going through detox of any type of drugs,
whether it's meth, fentanyl, alcohol, whatever it is.
And so anything we can do to get people through that medical detox and get their system clean,
then you can have a much more rational conversation
with that person about,
do you really wanna live your life that way?
I have yet to meet a person who started Fentanyl
who's alive 18 months later.
Everybody I've met who's on Fentanyl
is under six, seven, eight months. They just die so quickly. And
sometimes it's one and done. You know, it's one pill kill, you know, which a lot of people talk
about. But now you're starting to see people who develop a chronic acute addiction, and they still
die within under 18 months, which is just the saddest thing I can believe,
because we've never seen a drug this potent in the world's history. Could you
tell us where we can find out more about Fentanyl, DEATH, Incorporated? That's your
documentary, you know, about this. Yeah. Warner Brothers is our distribution
partner and they will be distributing it this coming summer so it's coming out
very quickly here or you can go to FDImovie.com so fentanyl depth
incorporated movie.com either of those you can go there and learn a lot about
both fentanyl and the movie. Do you think the country's taking it seriously at
this point as contrasted with five years ago?
I think President Trump has done a tremendous job to focus the energy. I was just listening to the press conference this morning from the White House talking about the need for border control and how
much fentanyl is coming across. So I think there's much better awareness in general, but I don't think we've got to a point where people fully
understand how fentanyl, how deadly it is, and there's not enough conversation about all the
different things we have to do to get to, if we really want to put fentanyl down, we got to be
doing about five things right simultaneously. And I don't think we're there yet on that conversation.
Dr. Robert Marbitt, he's the producer of Fentanyl Death, Incorporated. We'll put all your simultaneously and I don't think we're there yet on that conversation.
Dr. Robert Marbitt, he's the producer of Fentanyl Death Incorporated. We'll put all
your information up there. We appreciate the take and we're thinking about you
tomorrow on National Fentanyl Awareness Day and a lot of people are going to be
getting together and looking to fight this scourge and we appreciate you being
on the show. Thank you, doctor. Always appreciate that.
Thanks for having me again. Really appreciate it.

Okay.
I don't think that's a, that's not a way to restore rule of law.
Just saying.
Let me go to Wild Salmon.
Hello, Wild Salmon, go ahead.
It's on your mind.
Well, when it comes to this fentanyl drug, people who have never taken drugs or who maybe who've taken some kind of an
SRI or some other drug maybe even oxycodone or hydrocodone when they had
an injury and kind of feel like they need something they were having a hard
time because of job or spouse or something And so they're looking for some relief. Maybe they used to
drink too much or something. But they get a fentanyl addiction. The addiction is so
powerful. When you start coming down from fentanyl, the thing you feel is giant pain.
Really?
Yes. And so if you give someone who's on fentanyl and close to death, whatever that,
the Narcan?
Narcan, yeah. Yeah, the Narcan that all the police and many people are carrying that now,
because it's so prevalent.
When the person awakes, they're mad because the pain comes back. They're angry, they're violent.
That's how powerful fentanyl is. And I would imagine there's a bit of a
disappointment. They would rather die with the euphoria of fentanyl than live
with the pain, I guess. That is absolutely true. And if you've not
experienced that, you don't think
about it. And a lot of people get into fentanyl because it's mixed into other
drugs and they have illicit drugs that are supposed to be oxycodone.
The thing is, I want to be fair about this because I had a friend of mine, Roger
Fishman, who he passed away a number of years ago. He died of cancer.
He had come on the show a couple of years ago. He died of cancer.
He had come on the show a couple of times.
He was a guest a couple of times, but he was having a degenerative nerve problem with his
lower spine.
He was taking fentanyl.
He was given fentanyl by his doctor.
It was very, very tiny amounts.
The way he described it is,
Bill, I have to be careful with this.
I have to get myself off it every few days or so
because it is very addictive.
But he said, it gave me my life back.
That's how he described it for him.
Well, that in a controlled environment,
that is possible, but these illicit drugs are uncontrolled.
They're made by people that are criminals, and so they're more interested in making money.
I think the money thing seems to have gotten out of it as much when you can buy a pill
for a dollar or two.
I don't know how you make money at that.
Maybe it's just volume at this point. Yeah, but you can't understand the addiction
until you're in it.
So, like anything else, you think,
oh, well, I can handle that
because I've handled all these other things
and it gets you and you're in so much pain
that you don't care about anything else.
All right, Steve, I appreciate the description of that. Okay, thank you.
Let me go Ron. Ron, you're in Grants Pass. Go ahead.
Yeah, it seems like we're treating the symptoms instead of going to the core of the problem,
which is lack of self-respect of your personal, your body, and your family,
and your neighbors, and your your community and your nation.
Well, that's kind of a human condition though, is it not? I mean, we've had, whether it's
alcoholics and drug addicts, you know, right from the very beginning of humanity, once
we figure out a way to numb ourselves, there's always going to be a certain number of us
that will do that, is there not?
Well, there's so many things wrong with the law and with the implementation and how bad things are good
and good things are bad, then it's hard to draw a conclusion that you have to get to
the core of the problem.
And that is that the person who is abusing themselves, their family and others, has to
look back into himself and say, I'm doing something wrong.
I need to respect myself, respect my family, respect my community. And then
I can go back and say, well, now I have to do the next step, which is to educate myself into some
meaningful use of my life in now and into the future and become something, do something.
What about, I mean, the law is not really all effective at mandating that kind of thought
process.
It has to come from you yourself, doesn't it?
Well, yes, you're right.
It has to actually come from your family and your community all working together to love
your country and love your freedom enough that you're willing to step back and say, this is stupid to go see my friends die and to myself get involved in something
that ultimately makes me useless and feel useless in life.
All right. Thanks, Ron. 7705633. I'll grab one more. I know, Vicki, you called
us a moment ago, but you wanted to clarify something that you said
about...
Yeah, I just wanted to clarify to the doctor I would
never suggest anything unethical and when I suggested putting something in a
drug to make people sick it was more like a mock drug not not the actual drug
oh and to what Ron said these these people have deep,
deep pain in their mind and in their hearts. They need therapy to get over and start over, I think,
to get to a better life.
But I just wanted to clarify,
I'm not pushing drugs at all, Bill.
Okay.
I was just talking about maybe a mock-up drug
that could get on the street and when people take it, drugs at all, Bill. I was just talking about maybe a mock-up drug that
could get on the street and when people take it they get really sick.
All right. Thanks. I don't know how that could be done and how you...
How many dealers are going to knowingly take something or if they
find out that it makes them sick and they realize, oh, okay, I was sold the wrong stuff.
Okay, so we sold the wrong stuff.
Okay, so we were talking about money.
So you put people out there that are undercover and they're selling it cheap, cheap, cheap,
cheap, cheap, cheap.
Uh-huh.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Thanks for the call.
That's an interesting model.
I don't know.
I'm going to have to think about that one.
I've got to think about that one.
I got a note from Francine who once again said,
hey Bill, when fentanyl first came out
as a time released patch,
patients were warned not to wear them in the shower
because the hot water could release all the drug at once
and kill the person.
Yeah, even the prescription stuff is dangerous.
That's kind of where you were going, right Francine?
Yeah.
I know that my friend Roger, my late friend Roger is,
you know, was talking about how, yeah, it,
it is something he had to be really careful about, but with his degenerative nerve problem in his spine,
it did give him his life back. And so I don't want to throw babies out with bathwater because it has
helped a lot of people too. KMED, KMED, H-Eagle Point Medford, KBXG, Grants Pass, we'll have town hall news coming up. Dr. Jane Orient, MD, joins me. We'll be discussing the issues about autism,
another medical issue instead of drug addiction, autism. Where is it coming from?
RFK Junior says we're going to find out by September.
