Beautiful morning, 60 degrees on Conspiracy Theory Thursday,
and we have Eric and Ashlyn.
Eric, you have a great conspiracy that you wanted to throw out there. You go right ahead.
I certainly hope it's great. Government cover-ups, swamp gas, training exercises,
and leading to planes falling off aircraft carriers. I think we've lost two now, at the last I heard, and planes don't fall off aircraft
carriers.
I failed my research on where that carrier was located, but my conspiracy is it was shot
down.
They were shot down.
Or something's happening and the government's covering it up.
Oh. they were shot down, or something's happening and the government's covering it up. It seems to have been a flash in the pan and then it went away because, hey, I just fell
off a carrier.
I was stationed on a carrier and they ever had Lincoln and there's just no way that's
going to happen.
A carrier...
All right, so you don't believe that they just fell off.
It couldn't be part of the crisis of competence that our culture has been going through.
You're thinking that this is just a cover up for more nefarious acts going on then,
Eric?
Absolutely.
Yeah.
I don't know what's going on, but something's being covered up.
That's my conspiracy.
All right right I appreciate
your conspiracy and thank you for checking in from the South County okay
be well. Yes sir. 7705633 it is a conspiracy theory Thursday. I always
enjoys we noodle around it it doesn't matter how weird it is the weirder the
better I guess. Hi good morning who's this? This is minor Dave. Hello Dave you
can all come up with a good conspiracy or two in your day?
Well, first off, I want to talk about forming unions for students, but I'll get into that
in a second.
I wanted to give an update.
I found a paralegal that will help me fill out for my pardon, and I've been working on
it, but I won't have the money to hire until next
month but I'll be okay.
So I'm...
Now is this about getting your pardon?
You want to get a pardon from President Trump on your mining claim issue?
Right.
And I found a paralegal that can't give me legal advice but they can help me fill out
the form.
All right.
Now then, you advocate then instead of,
I was thinking, I was talking earlier about this
with state Senator Noel Robinson that the-
Good man, by the way.
Yeah, he is indeed.
I don't know if I know his dad.
He is indeed, but the teachers union is very powerful.
This is what I wanted to get at though.
Teachers union is very powerful.
And if we're wondering why our kids are number 45,
number 47, depending on what survey you talk to, if the teachers union were to truly want to get
to the bottom of where there is a lack of accomplishment or learning how to read, learning
how to write, whatever it is, with their political power, if they really wish the kids to do better,
I think they could find a way to make it happen and get to the bottom of it.
really wish the kids to do better, I think they could find a way to make it happen and get to the bottom of it.
Yeah, but since we can't get them to do that because of their political
entrenchment, parents could start up a student union that would have to be run by
somebody over 18, but they could negotiate with the schools on a lot of things, like setting up classes
for electricians, plumbers, you know, the trades.
And they could create an apprenticeship.
Now, yeah, you're supposed to be 18 to be on certain kinds of construction jobs because
of the danger.
But we could get them from high school and teach them.
Like when I was in school, I had a building construction class and we built a garage for
a guy.
Now, I didn't get paid, but I did learn a lot on, you know, how the
stuff was done. And I've worked and then I ended up in the IDW. By the way, most
the IDW guys thought the teachers unions were crazy. So don't figure, you know,
not everybody that belongs to union, you know, it's about wages, time of work, conditions.
Yeah, I get that. I understand that. And I'm not trying to throw teachers under the bus,
because I know that there are good teachers that are within the system.
But if the teachers union really wanted to solve that problem, it could.
But the solution to the problem is always, well, we need more money and we have to have more teachers.
Yeah, I'm sorry, your phone's cutting out a bit there here, Dave, but I think we got the majority of your point.
All right. Open phones, Conspiracy Theory Thursday, have at it. Anything on your your mind we can do that this hour of the Bill Myers show is sponsored by Fontana roofing for roofing gutters and sheet
metal services visit Fontana roofing services calm bill Meyer here and the
reports keep coming in from listener I turn it over to you it's always fun
sometimes weird that's okay conspiracy theory Thursday at 770 5633
770 KM ED let's head to the phones. Woohoo, indeed we have Vicki in the
Applegate. Hi Vicki.
I'm coming in a little late this morning so.
Yeah, yeah, normally you're one of the people that you know, you wake up early in the morning
and hit a Jack Daniels and on to the phone you are, right?
Yeah, okay. It's more like a cup of Joe. Okay, that's all right. What's on the phone you are right? Okay that's all right what's on
your mind today Vicki? So I was thinking about when you were talking about this
space junk or satellite whatever it is coming back to Earth after being in
space. Oh yeah yeah let me explain it for people who don't know about this it's a
it's a doomed Soviet satellite from 1972 and it's just
intrigues. It just spins my brain. I love the thought of this but it's
the Cosmos 482 space probe was supposed to have gone to Venus but they
had a problem with a rocket and then it got stuck up there for 50-something
years. So my conspiracy is the Earth is covered pretty much 70% with water, so it's more likely than
not that it's going to land in the ocean.
True.
So is it going to be like the movies Gremlin when it gets wet, all the organisms start
to come alive and it'll take decades to figure out that there's actually outer space somethings
that have landed on our planet.
Yeah, little space microbes that survive the re-entry, right?
Right. And it could be like, everybody's so worried about AI,
what about outer space cloning?
That's a really creative... You sat around all morning, you thought about that, didn't you Vicky?
My gosh, I had two cups of Joe.
Alright. I'll take that under advisement, but I guess we'll find out.
If we happen to see Mothra or Godzilla step out of the ocean, you know, after the landing of the craft,
then we'll know that you're... well, maybe your theory had.
Well, as long as nobody comes out that looks like Trump I'm okay okay good Trumpasaurus right yeah all
right thanks Vicki 7705633 we can have a little bit of fun too it's really all
right let me go to Brian Brian in Joe County Oh Brian how are you this morning
good yeah once again being a member of Park Watch here and dealing with the
homeless in our parks and all the needles and debris everywhere in our parks for two years now,
I'm glad you had Chris Barnett on. A lot of people have bought into the nonsense and the Tribune, and the Daily Fish Wrapper, all the rest of them. This guy is
a wonderful man that helps people like Park Watch. We had a huge event last summer, we're
having it again this summer, called Kids Fest. It's in our beautiful Riverside Park for children. And Chris Barnett reached out and provided this big swimming
pool of foam that all the children played in. We had a hundred kids and parents having
a blast in this big pool and they can't wait to do it again this summer. I've never met
anybody in this town that was as generous as Chris Barnett to help out Park Watch and this kids' best
event. He really cares about what's in the best interest of our parks and our community
in Grants Pass. To me, today being Thursday, Conspiracy Thursday, there is a huge agenda in southern Oregon for the Democrats in Salem
to take back southern Oregon and turn it into a democratic nightmare like Salem is.
Well, there is no doubt that there is certainly that there.
I have no doubt that Josephine and Jackson County Democrats would like to do that.
no doubt that Josephine and Jackson County Democrats would like to do that. All I'm concerned now, I wasn't on the jury though that decided the LLC case
originally. I wasn't there and frankly I didn't know a whole lot about this case.
I know enough just having read a little bit of that decision and some of the
news coverage of it. The part that does bother me about this is that there is nothing, and
I'm trying to figure out how a jury was persuaded somehow, if there was nothing in the paperwork
that said anything about these memberships and lifetime, I just don't know how you managed
to pull that off and make that a claim somehow,
and then to even conflate it with elder abuse. It's odd. I wasn't on the jury though, so
I'm trying not to throw juries under the bus though. You see what I'm getting at, Brian?
I wasn't there.
Yeah, well, I think probably the juries are from Lakeside and Reed's reach towards that area up there, Coos Bay. And as you well know,
I know this, that these coastal towns are extremely liberal and they're going to
go after someone that's a successful real estate broker like Chris Barnett.
So they're looking at Chris Barnett and his wife in coming in
buying that RV Osprey,
or the Osprey, and then saying, oh, it's the man.
Here's the man.
We got to go after the man?
Yep.
All right.
Maybe you're right.
I don't know.
Thanks for the call, though.
That's the conspiracy I see.
There's your conspiracy, and you're going to stick to it.
All right.
Thank you for the call, Brian.

I like to share with you some of the interview pitches
I get from people who write me,
and they bring up problems that I didn't even know were a problem. But, you know, they usually have a guest or someone, I'm going to share you some of the interview pitches I get from people who write me.
They bring up problems that I didn't even know were a problem.
But they usually have a guest or someone.
Sometimes I bite on them.
Other times I kind of go, well, that's kind of interesting.
I don't know.
I'm not sure about this one.
This came from Dana Swinney from Agility PR.
So it's a PR group and they're looking to get something out here.
Hi Bill. This woman's health month, May, Suzy Hewson, founder of Natricare and pioneer of the
world's first certified organic cotton tampon. Yes, Scoobasteve. Scoobopa Steve's next door, that caught his eye, is your rather.
Yeah, Scoopa Steve is even there wanting to find out more.
The world's first certified organic cotton tampon is available to discuss the critical
yet under-reported issue of tampon fiber loss.
Now, all my years of talk radio and being married to women that would
use such devices, I have never heard about this issue of tampon fiber loss. Have you? Anybody else?
But anyway, this is how it continues. Conventional tampons often made with rayon or rayon cotton
blends can shed fibers inside the woman during use.
Shedding fibers.
So fiber shedding.
Now to mitigate this, some brands wrap their tampons in plastic veils.
Plastic veils, which can introduce nanoplastics
into the body and contribute to plastic pollution.
In contrast, NatureCare's tampons are crafted
from long fiber, 100% organic cotton,
designed to interlock naturally when wet,
thereby reducing the risk of fiber loss
without the need for plastic components.
Less shed equals less concerning to be in our body.
Now, I do know that the nanoplastic thing has been talked about a lot more. You know, we're hearing about nanoplastics everywhere else.
But my main issue is, okay, if I were to talk with Suzy Huston, the founder of Natricare,
pioneer of the world's first certified organic cotton tampon,
could she get these certified organic cotton tampons
put in the boys' rooms in our government schools?
Because that would have to be, you know,
you couldn't have just the regular plastic-coated tampons
going into the boys' rooms, you know,
like all the other school districts here.
Because, you know, menstruation equity,
boys can menstruate too, according to the state legislature but yeah could we have should we have I
don't even want to go there but yeah I might let this one go but it's it's an
interesting issue wouldn't you say the microplastics in the organic and of
course if if if feminine protection
wasn't expensive enough,
you can imagine how much these would be,
$5 a piece or something, but that's all right.
I'm sure the state of Oregon,
I could just see the state of Oregon there
that went with tampons in the boys' rooms.
It could be just, oh man, this is even better.
We'll get even more support.
It's certified organic.
As the other boys are just ripping the machines off the wall and throwing them in the toilet,
which actually happened in a couple of schools from what I remember. It's like, well, you know,
boys will be boys. I mean, real boys will be boys. Okay. Another interesting story here.
And it had to do, let's see if I found this out. It had to do with certified plastics, all right. Something else here.
Where did it go?
Okay, I lost.
Okay, I will find this.
I will find that story.
But it had to do, is this it?
Oh, e-bikes.
Yes, e-bike rules.
An Oregon commission, I found it here,
Oregon State Parks and Recreation Commission, approved
several real estate transactions and grant recommendations, but they also have new rules
for electric assisted bikes.
The updated e-bike rules go into effect July 1st, and it will allow e-bike use on multi-use
trails where other bicycles are allowed unless specifically restricted.
They'll be allowed on the ocean shore on wet sand unless specifically restricted.
The e-bike rules also include stronger, clearer language for safe operation and required caution.
I'm going to have to read these rules.
They're coming up with them and I guess they're we're gonna find out more about this but I got to tell you I don't think I have ever seen a particular type of
transportation more dangerous to people walking on sidewalks or out there just
doing things normally than the e-bikes because the e-bikes are not just going
at bicycle speed the e-bikes are going almost like moped slow motorcycle speed out
there.
And I see them going down sidewalks, traveling down sidewalks at that speed.
And I don't know if that's anything that you've ever given any thought about.
But man, a lot of them are just rolling 35, 40 miles an hour on.
I don't know if it's 40 miles an hour.
I'm just estimating has
anybody else noticed that or is that just me but I'm just I'm just bringing it
up and the e-bike rules I know this is where people I'm riding a bicycle no
you're riding a motorcycle and pedaling occasionally is what you're is what
you're doing but still good for you should they be a little tighter on that
sort of stuff you know to me e-bikes should not be on sidewalks period. You know if you're
sitting there going faster than anyone would could normally pedal a bicycle I
don't think you should be there. Am I right or wrong? You could complain to me
one way or the other because it is Conspiracy Theory Thursday and this is
the Bill Meyer Show.

Your sponsorship. 7705633. Steve is in Sunny Valley. Steve, it is
Conspiracy Theory Thursday. Do you have a good one on your mind? What's up?
Well, I just, it's not so much conspiracy. You were talking about E-bike and the
libertarian in me says stop the regulation. Yeah the libertarian
says that and I and I would tend to agree with you normally on this too. All
I've just noticed is that the electric bikes those really aren't bikes in my
view most of them. Well no they're not but regular bikes aren't allowed on
sidewalks either. Being an old railroad engineer and an aircraft mechanic and pilot. I know a little bit about transportation
Yeah, but I hang on just a second Steve. I believe that bicycles are allowed on sidewalks in certain cases
Oh, no, that's why there are bike lanes. It's against a lot of right on sidewalk
And if the training wheels come off for six years old
They ought to be in the street, but but I do see an awful lot of it on the sidewalk then okay all right you know trains
and cars get along fine until a car crosses a train track true and cars and bikes get along just
fine until you put bikes on a busy road so what you do is you have different lanes, different streets, put the bikes on
the back roads, the cars on the main roads, open up the lane, and everything
works. That is not the way that they have designed it though, especially in Oregon,
which is about having the main roads dieted down and then, you know, we add
some bike lanes to it. Oh absolutely. Not only that, but
electric bikes have maximum speed by law and I think that's a mistake too. I think
the laws of physics should apply, not the laws of Salem. All right, well I'm
looking here at, let's see, the top seven fastest electric bikes of 2025.
And the fastest electric bike here is, let's see, the Hallimotor FC1, 110 kilometers per hour, is what they can do.
But that's not legal in the United States.
You can't ride that on bike trails in the United States. You can't write it on freeways in the United
States because it's not licensed. So I'm saying, you know, let people decide
what's safe and pay the consequences. People should have more responsibility
for their lives. Will do. Thank you, Steve. Alrighty, yep.
770-5633.
I still think there's gonna be a problem
with the electric bikes, I'm just telling you, all right?
770-5633.
Hello, we have the deplorable Patrick.
Hello, DP, welcome.
Well, good morning, Bill.
My complaint is,, conspiracy is about these ignoramus liberals who don't
get it. I suspect they don't care to get it. I was noticing something the other day, and
I don't, I wish I remember who it was from, but he was complaining that, about these deportations,
and how could you be against somebody just because
of where they were born? And this is what these idiot liberals do. They'll try to mischaracterize
an issue to try to bend your eyesight as it were.
Yeah, and it is impugning your motive then? Exactly. Correct. And it's not about where somebody was born. It's about their culture.
It's about what they believe, what they think is normal, what they think is acceptable or
not acceptable, and their cultures are not compatible with ours. It's not okay for people to come here and form gangs and attack people and ignore our laws,
and try to intimidate and dominate and expect us to speak their language.
I would look at immigration law even through a collective national property right of, hey,
we can decide who is permitted to be here and who is not permitted. I look at it through that lens.
That's right.
And I would also add that if you're going to have open
borders and this free movement of people,
you would have to eliminate a welfare state,
that'd be nice,
but as long as you have a welfare state,
there would have to be some kind,
in an ideal perfect Star Trek world
in which everybody has food replicators and
we don't have to, we no longer as you know the socialism that Jean-Luc Picard would would
espouse there that we no longer have to war over resources, everybody has what they need
and then you know computer, Earl Grey, Halt, you know that kind of thing.
Yeah, that's the way it would always work. That
would be fine. We don't have that world yet, at least that I'm aware of, okay?
I'm just complaining about people, liberals, particularly who will mischaracterize the
nature of a situation. And I don't really care where somebody was born. I care that
they do or don't respect our laws and these these people coming here they
don't care what your laws are they care what they want that's the that's the
problem and they want your vote thank you Patrick 7705633 let me head to the
next line here on conspiracy theory Thursday who's this and where did you
want to take it? Oh thank you Gregory. Hello Gregory. Hello, Gregory. We're going to take two points. The first
one being, are you able to look up and see what I saw on how wide a city sidewalk is
since they have city sidewalks at four to 10 feet wide? And then the second question
is, because it's going to be quick, what is your favorite Young Cannibals song since
we were talking about Young Cannibals the other day on the radio? Well, the five Young Cannibals
songs from the band in the 1980s would have to be Good Thing. I like Good Thing. That was the mic.
That does have a lot of commercial stuff on that one. But other than, why did they have to have
a 10 foot sidewalk in Medford, Oregon?
Well, a 10 foot sidewalk is to prepare
for the climate friendly, equitable community deal
in which you will own nothing and be happy
and whatever you do own, you'll be pushing on a cart
down the wide sidewalk.
Maybe that's what it is.
Well, they do have have waters over there already.
I'll let it go now. Thank you Gregory. Conspiracy Theory Thursday. Hello Conspiracy Theory Thursday
line. Hi who's this? Good morning. Hey Bill, Brad here. Good morning to you. Brad, how are you? Hey
great. You know I think electric bikes are cool. I think those electric scooters
are cool. But there's maybe a policy side to this that I didn't think about until you
were having that discussion with the other guy. And it might go something like this.
So you think about all this road diet traffic calming, that's coming out of these planning outfits that regulate pretty much all the planning in Oregon.
And you try to do the cause and effect thing.
It's like, okay, so we're doing this because of that.
And the end goal is always what?
Safety, right?
Ask, gosh, you know, it's just got to be safe.
No, but if you're going to do safety, you have to say it correctly, all right, like
Eric Peters and I do and it's repeat after me Brad one two three safety. There you go now we can
talk about safety please continue. You're too funny. So they took out
they took out literally half of the traffic lanes on East Jackson from Crater Lake all the way
up to the school there.
And for what?
For the five or 10 people that ride bicycles up there, right?
And so it's always about safety, improved safety, safety, safety, safety.
So imagine this, the more of these electric devices that
you can get out there on public rights away, the better you can make that safety argument.
If there isn't anybody out there, it's kind of hard to make that safety argument. But
if you can get 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, whatever you can get out there, the more of those that
you can get out there, the easier of those that you can get out there,
the easier it is to make the argument
that you gotta take away these traffic lanes
and do all this other stuff.
What do you think?
That's actually a very interesting theory,
and I don't think it's just a conspiracy theory.
Most likely a fact of conspiracy.
All right, thanks for the thought.
7705633, it's Conspiracy Theory Thursday.
Hi, good morning.
And who's this on?
What's on your mind?
You can only guess.
Hey, I have a couple things here.
Okay, Tom.
New name for Cannibal Mountain.
Okay.
Bouffée Mountain.
What?
Bouffée Mountain.
Bouffée.
That shouldn't offend anybody now.
And that way it kind of preserves a little of the former past without being quite so
offensive.
Well, you know, we're all just food for something at some point in our life.
That's all, Tom.
What can we do?
This is true.
Now, the other thing about the electric bikes, I think we ought to make sure that all our reps up in Saon, reps short for reptiles, should get the electric bike and take them on the elevator like that other fellow in the video that I sent that. Many people saw that to me with the electric bike that caught on fire and just
exploded inside the elevator and he died and it was incredible because those lithium ion batteries
just are so dangerous when they fail. That's all. Yeah, they sure are and so that's a whole
night of their consideration which they don't seem to be owning up to.
All right. Thanks for the call. Good one there on Conspiracy Theory Thursday. Next line. Good morning. Hi, who's this?
Hello. I got three points.
Hello, Gene. Go ahead. What are you thinking?
Do those electric bikes have liability insurance so if they hit someone they could pay the bill?
I don't believe so. E-bikes have liability insurance, so if they hit someone, they could pay the bill.
I don't believe so.
They need them because it's more or less a motor vehicle.
It's certainly heavier and more robust than a standard bicycle.
There may be a point, not that I'm wishing to add to the regulatory burden of Oregon,
but we might see more of that as the population
of the e-bikes increase here.
And I would also add, as the trial lawyers
get involved with this, Gene, okay?
That'll probably be what really determines it, okay?
Well, I almost got hit by a regular bicycle
because of an idiot, but
Anyway, and those electric bikes is really do damage. I was
Driving down the road yesterday and one was running right beside me and boy they were running pretty good I know they're they're very very quick very quick. All right, seven seven. Oh five six three three. Good morning
Hi, who's this?
Good morning, Dave.
Hello, Dave.
Natural flavors is people.
Oh, this is the Cannibal Mountain deal, right?
Oh, he took off. All right.
I guess the cannibal hung up. Let me go to line one. Good morning. How is this?
Good morning, Bill. This is David in Phoenix.
Hello, David.
So my conspiracy is this. Back in the 90s, we went to hell about trailer parks. You couldn't do
trailer parks. And the Manufactured Home Association worked really hard to say, well, you need to not discriminate
about people buying trailers so you could put, you know, one on one.
Yeah, build them wherever.
Now, Governor Brown, he has, not Governor Brown, Governor Kotec is now in favor of,
hey, we got to get rid of any of those rules.
Right.
But it's yin and yang on this.
Anyways, where I'm going with my conspiracy is that between trailers, you know, well,
I guess I don't want to insult everybody, manufactured homes, I'm sorry.
I'd say that's nightly, of course.
This Coos Bay thing and these other parks that exist around here, we have one in Medford,
the Sherleen, and
on Riverside. Some of these places have just, they exist because they exist. If they weren't
here today, they wouldn't be here. And I believe that what's going on is they still
don't want to build like a actual trailer park in Jackson County. So what they wanna do is if they build a new development,
if it's gonna be put on some kind of blocks or cement
to make it look, be attached,
you can install one in the new development.
You're not gonna build one next door
to where like say, I live or you live.
Yeah, it's only in new development, yes.
Right, but having said that,
I do believe that this thing going on in Coos Bay is basically some people started living someplace.
It might have been just a campground or whatever, and things, economics, and there wasn't anybody,
tourists weren't coming. And so that trailer stays there a little longer than maybe a normal
temporary, and people psychologically began to feel that that was their home. And so that trailer stays there a little longer than maybe a normal temporary.
And people psychologically began to feel that that was their home.
Yeah, and that they're entitled to it.
I think you may have a very good point about that, especially when they were kind of doing
the handshake deal from the sounds of it, that I'll give you $5,000, $6,000 and let
me have a permanent or a lifetime membership, right?
Right, but what I'm saying is people lost the psychology of if I check into a motel,
I flop on the bed and throw my socks on the floor because I can't do that at home.
You know, going crazy. But I know I'm only there for four nights. Psychologically,
I know it's not my place to live. If you stayed in that
motel room for 30 years, you would begin to actually feel ownership, just as a human thing.
You would have emotional attachment. And if somebody said, well, it's time to check out,
we got to paint the walls and redo the carpet, and you have no other backup plan, you would go into panic mode.
And I do believe that this is part of controlling, more controlling.
If I don't have rules on you as a homeowner, if you are a renter, if you're the person
that does the renting to other people, they want to have more control on them.
And that's part of my conspiracy is that where are you going to put all these people if they
had to leave this Coos Bay place?
Probably a lot of them, their trailer, some of them would probably fall apart going down
the road.
And this is part of that.
All right.
Very good point here.

Ooh, what about bird poo?
I'm guessing that's going to be in the millions of tons dropping from the sky every day into

Hi, I'm Lamont from Orleys and I'm on 106.7 KMED.
Proud to have Marcy on from Access and we're always a big fan of getting
good food into the bellies of people that are really needing and deserving of
that. Marcy, welcome back. How are you doing this morning?
I'm doing well. Thank you so much for having me.
Marcy, you're getting together with the US Postal Service, the postal delivery folks,
and Saturday is the big day. What do they call that again when we put the bags of food
out there?
What is it?
Yeah. So it's officially called the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Sometimes you'll hear
it referred to as the Mother's Day Food Drive, but yeah, Stamp Out Hunger.
Yeah. And this is a big deal for the local food banks isn't it?
How so? Yeah for sure. Yeah I mean the food drives in general provide us with you know good
good product that we can get into the hands of our pantries and this one's just an exciting one
to participate in. It happens every year on Mother's Day weekend and it's just fun to see the
the postal trucks coming in
and dropping off bags or boxes of food and you know realizing that that's
going to get out into the community in the next month or so. All right well I've
been going through my pantry and finding food that I can that is still
good and is non-perishable and is really worth donating and actually I
found some peanut butters too and those fats and proteins you really like that don't you? Absolutely that's one of those
things that our pantries frequently request. Proteins are very popular canned
meats, peanut butter of course and then canned fruits and vegetables are also
something that we see need for. Okay very good. What are the rules here in the
final minute or so as we wrap it up?
Yeah, don't send non-perishables as a big one. I think somebody accidentally put one of their personal grocery bags last year and it was fresh fish, so that was fun. Oh, fresh fish in the
donation! I don't think that works well at all. Not too well, not too well. So non-perishables of
any kind we're delighted to take.
All right, very good. So it's Saturday, just put it out by your mailbox and the postal service takes
care of the rest of it, right? Yep, they do and they're happy to do it. They're great partners.
All right, we'll do. Stamp out hunger. Marcy, thank you so much. You take care. Be well, okay?
You too. Good stuff there. I already have my bag ready. I'm going to do that, all right?
Let me go to Brother Brad. Hello, Brother Brad. You're going to wrap it up on Conspiracy Theory Thursday. What's going on with you?
Hey, once again, thank you for
quality media information, buddy.
That's very kind of you.
You had a speaker on, you were talking about the cost of education.
Yes.
You know, I just did an analysis on a national level.
You know, Oregon ranks almost at the lowest level of quality education in the nation for
performance.
Yes.
Yet we have one of the most expensive systems in the nation as well as far as competition.
You know, honestly here, Brad, this is why I've talked about this and saying that you have to
take a look at what's going on with the teachers union because the teachers union is extremely
politically powerful. And when it comes to the public system, I don't think we're going to have any choice
but to start putting pressure on the teachers union to improve the product.
And improving the product is not necessarily going to come from more money.
I wish that more money would make that happen.
There must be something else going on, wouldn't you think?
I'll give you the final word. Well, when you look at value and performance, I mean, I've been a business guy my whole life, you
know, to get compensated, you got to provide a certain level of quality
service for what you get compensated for. And we're just not being represented at
all in public education. It's tragic. There is the possibility that what's going on here these days, boy,
we're just in that situation now where the federal government's not going to be able to backfill
the state overspending on education and doing stuff which doesn't any longer make any sense,
right? You know, we're going to have to concentrate on stuff that works.
doesn't any longer make any sense, right? You know, we're going to have to concentrate on stuff that works.
There is the possibility that the breakdown of the finances coming from
federal government may focus our minds here.
And that's what I pray happens here in Oregon here,
Brad, is to focus the mind and start working on what works
and only work on what works.
And that would also mean washing
out the ideological abuse which is happening.
And on that note, I got to get going here, but thank you for checking in on Conspiracy
Theory Thursday.
By the way, my email is bill at BillMeyersShow.com and looking for a great Find Your Phone Friday
for tomorrow.
Take care.
