Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Meyer Show podcast is sponsored by Clouser Drilling. They've been leading the way in Southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Clouser Drilling.com. Here's Bill Meyer. Great having you here. You know, I don't know if Judge Jeanine Perro is going to be on the show Sunday. You know, her normal talk show. I haven't heard from her syndicator yet. I'll see. But I'm assuming she's going to be here
Starting point is 00:00:25 maybe even just to say goodbye or something. I don't know. She was just appointed interim U.S. attorney in D.C. after Ed Martin ended up exploding in political flames apparently because we have like Tom Tillis and various other people. He's too friendly to J-6ers. The J-6ers, they broke us. They destroyed the Capitol and they killed police officers and... Yeah, I know. There's all sorts of lies still being told today. It just astounds me how broken so many idiots are over in Congress over January 6 even today. But yeah, I don't know. But we're gonna have Judge Jeanine Pirro. No one's going to have any trouble hearing her in court.
Starting point is 00:01:06 I got to tell you, man, she's a big powerful voice, man. I'll tell you. Foghorn with a gavel, I guess. Actually, she's not the judge. She's not going to be the judge. She's going to be a prosecutor, but still a point well taken. Let me go to Mr. Outdoors. Greg Roberts over at Woke Weather this morning. How you doing today, Greg? Welcome back. Oh, I'm doing fine. And since you mentioned the J6ers, all this concern about making sure people got due process, I don't remember anybody being concerned about J6ers. Oh, no, it was, lock them up, baby. Lock them up, put them in a hole,
Starting point is 00:01:42 keep them there, give them diesel therapy, whatever the case might be case might be yeah yeah cry me a river overdue process for the Maryland man okay that's yeah where Janine's concerned this I think it's gonna be a little bit different than Dan Bongino but she's still she's got some things she's gonna have to divest herself from I don't think this is like she's on the job on Monday. I think there will be a little bit of a process here before she can actually take over the role. In Bongino's case, it was close to a month because he had a lot more he needed to shut down and or he needed to shut down and get divested from. And I don't think Janine has quite as much as Bongino had,
Starting point is 00:02:29 but like I said, I don't think she's on the job on Monday. I think she's got some business things. Yeah, some transition going on. And yeah, but still, you know, I'm saying this, you know that I doubt they're gonna let her keep a nationwide talk show here when you're a federal, you know, US attorney. Not going to happen. She's done with Fox for sure.
Starting point is 00:02:49 It's just, she does have endorsements. She's got other things going on. I mean, there's, it's exactly like what happened with Bongino. It took him a month before he was ready to take on the role of assistant director of FBI. And I think we're probably, I'm gonna guess probably at least two weeks before Janine's gonna be with her house settled and ready to go in her new role. Yeah, so pretty interesting, interesting pick there. Of course, the fact that Ed
Starting point is 00:03:21 Martin blew up in flames though is not a good thing in my view. Well, you know, on the one hand, this also kind of reminds me of what happened when Trump nominated Gates to be AT before he nominated Bondi. Sometimes he does things, I think, just expecting to get the sacrificial lamb, if you will, because I think that's clearly what he did with Matt Gaetz. He had to know Gaetz wasn't going to fly, and he had to know Ed Martin wasn't going to fly.
Starting point is 00:03:52 But the fact that Ed Martin wouldn't fly tells me a lot about where a lot of the Republican establishment is, and it's not in a good place, okay? Yeah, and you know, and that's the other thing he did. He definitely, he smoked those guys out. And you hear a lot of people going, well, where are the prosecutions? Where's this? Where's that? Well, a lot of it is now that we've kind of gotten past
Starting point is 00:04:16 the buzz, if you will, of Trump getting back into office, we're starting to see a lot of, you know, Washington proceeding as Washington does. And even though, you know, Trump won huge big late in the election, you've still got those entrenched DC swamp monster Republicans that now we've kind of come through the honeymoon and they've quote unquote, let Trump had have some wins they're starting to dig in and resist him now. Oh yeah the Empire is fighting back there's absolutely no doubt about that against the rebels interesting though the you know the bondi coverage I'm sure you've been
Starting point is 00:04:56 keeping apprised of that too I was only kind of half paying attention to it because I mean I'll be I'll be satisfied with Epstein when I start seeing big people being perp-walked, and I haven't seen anything about that yet. But then you find out that James O'Keefe ended up doing a secret recording, which a nanny or whoever was supposedly talking with her and then discussing thousands of little kid videos and pictures in the Jeffrey Epstein files. And I'm thinking to myself, whoa, and then she comes out and announces it, I think probably getting ahead of that story, trying to get ahead of that story. And there's a part of me that still wonders here, are they going to do their best to still, in spite of the fact that there's about as much dirt there that you could probably imagine
Starting point is 00:05:47 Is there still that much influence that the big and powerful will cover the worst of this up? I don't know I Truly believe that to be the case Because the one thing that DC protects is DC It does not matter what party affiliation is, when you're part of the powerful... I think the movie that probably gave us the truest glimpse of that was the clear and present danger where Harrison Ford is playing the role of Jack Ryan. And he goes into the president's office after he's aware of everything that happens.
Starting point is 00:06:29 And the president describes the old Potomac Two-Step. The Potomac Two-Step definitely exists. And if you want to know what that is, and you want to know why politicians never go to trial for things that they should, go watch that movie, watch that scene at the end in the Oval Office when the Potomac Two-Step is described, because that's the best description of it I've ever heard. It also exists here in Salem. I'll have to look up that scene. I haven't watched that movie in a long, long time. I
Starting point is 00:07:01 haven't read the book in a long, long time either. But anyway, yeah, I could write about that. I am praying that the Bondi situation here and the Epstein files and all the rest of it is not meet the new boss same as the old boss. But we'll have to see. I'm gonna be... Well, I hope you're right. The cynic in me is now really starting to think that, yeah, no, the dancers may have changed on the floor, but the dance is still the same. The Potomac two-step will live on in spite of Trump. Yep. 722.
Starting point is 00:07:34 All right. Let's break down here. I know it's not Conspiracy Theory Thursday. Before we get into the outdoor report, you have to tell me the latest here about it. Now they're concerned about the Doppler radar. Yep. It could be under attack here. The Doppler radar systems here that take care of forecasting weather here in southern Oregon. The meteorologists always are, hey, let's go over to the Doppler radar, right? You're seeing the screens change around. You use this and all the rest. And so now,
Starting point is 00:08:03 what's the latest conspiracy? This is a great one. Great one. Well, now you've got this group of idiots. And I have what I call 12th level stupid. And 12th level stupid is the height of it. It's totally incurable. When people reach 12th level stupid, they're beyond functioning normally. Well, there is now allegedly this paramilitary group out there that has reached 12th level stupid because they believe Doppler radar sites can control and direct the weather. And they are now blaming Doppler radar for Hurricane Alin, among other
Starting point is 00:08:38 things. And they threaten to go around the country and take out the radar sights. Here's what radar does. If you don't know, it's okay. Admit it. Don't do something stupid like thinking it does something it cannot possibly do. Here's what radar does. It shoots a beam out. It encounters particles coming out of the storm. It can also encounter birds. It can encounter insects. It can encounter... It bounces off that and ricochets back and then is... Exactly. Okay, yeah. So if you believe that that controls and creates and directs weather, then you believe that the radar and the other systems being used by cops will cause speeders and wrecks. You're that dumb. And I will tell you this to your face. You are a freaking moron.
Starting point is 00:09:33 All right. Well, you're going to have a lot of fun, I think, with pushback on this one. Because I don't care. I know. I know. I know. But yeah, that's the latest now. The Doppler radar isn't that the equipment we need you are 12th level stupid you're a moron all right I think you've got your point of you think you're gonna do something to me I don't bring it on no I know I going to have earned what you it's okay call you Greg calm down it's okay it's all right take a breath take a breath big fella take a breath, big fella. Take a breath, big fella. Come on. Rampant stupidity that should not exist because what radar does is out there in countless sites describing it. This kind of stupidity just shouldn't be existing, and yet it does.
Starting point is 00:10:20 All right. Now, let us hope that over at the Doppler radar facilities which are up that now that's the dome that I drive past when I go camping up past Ski Ashland right that's the white dome up there on the mountain right yeah okay all right do they have cameras on it just want to make sure? I would sure hope. Yeah well they don't they probably do now what's that once that report is making the waves we'll see okay all right so we shouldn't have to be worrying about protecting our radar site from rapidly stupid people now there's a lot of stuff on the web Greg that's all
Starting point is 00:10:58 I'm going to say all right let's set that aside here what are we on the positive side if we want to drive past the Doppler radar site and go and have some fun someplace or go fishing, what should we be doing? What are you looking for the next few days? This weekend is going to be pretty nice for doing that because the big change that is coming, and I illustrate that on the Rogue Weather Facebook page, that big change that's coming is coming Sunday night into Monday morning. So we're gonna get through the weekend in pretty good shape. Highs today and tomorrow will be much more summer-like
Starting point is 00:11:32 than they would be spring-like. And then we cool down on Sunday, and then the big cool down and the wet with showers and thunderstorms arrives. Definitely it will be making the bigger impact on everybody, Monday through Monday night and then into Tuesday morning. And then we start seeing things progress to the east, which means we'll be drying out
Starting point is 00:11:55 again. But like I said, the weekend itself is going to be good, not great, because there will be some clouds intruding. We've got some today breaking loose out in advance of that trough that's coming in, but again, we're going to be dry, we're going to be warm. It's going to be, you know, really nice today, tomorrow, and Sunday is still not going to be a bad day for Mother's Day. So yeah, enjoy the weekend. There's really not much you can't do. It's not one of those things that, well, you
Starting point is 00:12:31 know, we may have a chance. No, that's not going to be the case here in Jackson and Josephine counties. Just enjoy your weekend. Work in your gardens because we would definitely be at that point now. Go ahead, put your gardens in. While there is still always a risk, we could get a freak, you know, frost or freeze situation. Right now, atmospherically, it's just not looking too favorable for that. So if you've been holding off to get your gardens in,
Starting point is 00:13:02 this is gonna be a great weekend for it. Glad to hear it by the way Greg I was just gonna remind everybody since we were thinking about the weekends tomorrow is that stamp out hunger day in which the US Postal Service Delivery people end up picking up the grocery bags people leave bags of groceries non perishable foods I know I was talking with Marcy from access yesterday one time somebody put some fish in a grocery bag I didn't work out so well you want to make sure it's non-perishable. Yeah, non-perishable. And honestly, if you're going to do fish, just do the tuna fish cans because, well, those are non-perishable. They'll hold up a long
Starting point is 00:13:40 time. Peanut butter, the canned fruits and veggies, you know, those types of things. Yeah, fresh fish, no. Yeah, but that's one of the easiest ways to donate to the area food banks. It really is. I just think that, you know, someone else delivers it for you. Hey, good stuff, okay. Hey, anything else as far as are we now entering into the long-term spring thing? Are we still looking at some herky-jerky back and forth up and down like we've noticed from time to time? It's looking like it's going to be herky-jerky here probably a bit more like through the end of the month. But you know with what we've seen in the past where we've had late La Niñas like this,
Starting point is 00:14:26 this shouldn't be a big surprise. But I did notice one big change from where we were at earlier in the week. Earlier in the week, it kind of looked like Memorial Day weekend may be another one of those points where a trough would be coming through and we would be cloudy and cool and potentially wet? Well, the good news is today as we sit two weeks out from Memorial Day and Boatnik and all the activities, Memorial Day weekend now does look better than it did say 4872 hours ago. I will say that. Good, good. Hey, a couple more questions before we take off for the weekend here. Mm-hmm. I had Jan that was wondering, do you have a choice or a pick on the fire district people in Jackson County?
Starting point is 00:15:15 Do you have anything on that? Do you get involved in that at all? Well, let's put it this way. I, you know, I've learned to be Switzerland on all that stuff. Okay. So at the end of the day, I wind up having to work with whoever winds up winning. And where it comes to the local districts, you know, definitely people should get to know who's running for what, um, you know, and make sure they're supporting the people that they think most closely align with them. I will say this, the only general funding request that I'm aware of on the ballot right now is out for Shady Cove and Fire District 4. And, you know, hey, I mean, we're having a tough time
Starting point is 00:16:01 existing, but imagine how tough it would be if your fire department is not adequately funded to do the task. They're definitely getting the call volumes, everything else. So I do endorse and support passing fire districts for their funding measure, but where it comes to individual people
Starting point is 00:16:24 running for boards and things like that, like I said, I wind up having to work with them at some level. All right, so you stay cool. I prefer to be neutral. Okay, I get that. All right. Now then, I have another question here from Josiah Ellis who says, Bill, my girlfriend and I hiked to Rainy Falls last week on the South Trail, and we noticed at the 1.2 mile point up on the cliff side of the North Trail, there was a man-made object against a rock outcropping. Does Mr. Outdoors have any idea what that could be? I would have to get eyes on it to really be able to tell for sure, but given the history down in there, I'm wondering if they didn't install some kind of device to help make it
Starting point is 00:17:16 easier to facilitate rescue, like if they've got somebody on a stretcher coming out on the trail in that particular area, they did erect similar things over at Smith Rock State Park after I left Redmond Fire, and we had talked about that for years. So without weighing eyeballs on it, my first guess is it might be a device to do that. But again, I'm'm gonna need to get eyeballs on it or see a picture of it to really be able to tell for certain. All right I will respond to him and maybe he maybe he took a picture of it just didn't send it along last time okay. All right well you have a great weekend relax and hopefully the Doppler
Starting point is 00:17:59 radar installation in southern Oregon will be safe. Okay? Well, uh... You know, I sure hope so. And yeah, where it comes to just monumental 12th level stupidity like that, I'm not going to hold back on it. I'm going to express exactly how I feel about it and how stupid it is. You know, I wish you wouldn't, uh, you know, hide your opinion so deeply here, but... Yeah, no, I've never been known for that. And and yeah it probably cost me in a past life for things I could be doing like now like being a type 1 team incident commander and things like that but you know I just I am who I am and I'm gonna be that way and obviously it makes for great radio because here we are going on nearly 13 years later and and people love it so we'll keep doing it. All right, appreciate it Greg. Greg Roberts at

News talk 1063 KMED this is the Bill Meyers show and I'm delighted that you are here on find your phone
Starting point is 00:21:10 Friday Dave you found your phone you wanted to talk about the Doppler radar what do you know about the Doppler radar I've never been inside one of those but well I haven't been in the side of the one in Ashen, and I haven't been a part of the system. There's about 10 miles from my old plane, there's a weather station. It looks like 1950s above ground, but it's actually mostly underground. And in the wintertime, I talked to a lieutenant from the Air Force. He worked part-time for the weather people and part-time for the Air Force. He worked part time for, you know, the weather people and part time for
Starting point is 00:21:45 the Air Force. And it's an underground facility because the building's too small to keep all the food he would need in there because he goes in there for three or four months out of the year. Now, were you, was he aware of any weather control going on in the Doppler radar system? on in the Doppler radar system? No, no. He was the early warning system for nuclear strikes from here on the whole Pacific, Northwest and you know California. So if you attack that a Doppler system, you're gonna go to a military prison because half the thing is you know Air Force. Yeah, interesting. Thanks for the call, Dave. Good weekend, 737.
Starting point is 00:22:28 Let me grab another call here on Find Your Phone Friday. Good morning, who is this? Hey Bill, it's Lucretia. I knew you would bite on this. I just knew it. I almost could have predicted, but anyway, you're here. Good morning, Lucretia. Well, talk about 1,000% or or a thousand times a moron or stupid.
Starting point is 00:22:47 My God, you just have to look up the weather patterns on how to control hurricanes. But you see, you conflate that there are patterns on something as that they're doing it though. Let me finish. Okay. You just have to look up that they use sound. Okay. You just have to look up that they use sound. Now understand if you really... Like even in dealing with bodies with the line of the acoustic that does energy healing through the vibration, the training forks.
Starting point is 00:23:14 By the way, are you on a speakerphone, Lucretia? Yeah, it's a little further away. Anyway, she even uses... She'll treat somebody all the way in Australia from her home in California, the scalar energy. And she uses, how it works is radio waves. Basically we're just energy waves. Okay. We are bodies as well. But how you control hurricanes, best of that, because that's another whole story of how effective that is and amazing. You can even tell what date or time in their life
Starting point is 00:23:45 and when it happened. And it's amazing what you can do too. All I would say, Lucretia here, is that big, big claims about the use of the Doppler radar system need big, big, big evidence and not claims that, well, it could be done or we have a patent for this, et cetera, et cetera. That's the sort of stuff that makes my teeth hurt sometimes.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Okay. Just go to Hurricane Helene and frequency transmission. Dane Whittington does an incredible job of showing all the Doppler radars. They totally control Hurricane Helene. They cause all those people to die in massive floods. The hurricane wants to go away from the energy waste, so they control it. It can't go that directly. Okay, so they directed that. It's really interesting. So we're the only people to do that, right? Is that it?
Starting point is 00:24:32 No. Around the world. You know, Ben Livingston, after he was over in Vietnam creating all the masoons, he was hired by Corona Military Academy in California to write up the report of how to control the world. This was back in the 70s. Okay, well that's fine. Once again, Lucretia, I will continue to insist that whoever the people are that are then controlling the weather with Doppler radar systems or anything else like that, all I need to do is just let's get the... you know, apparently they must
Starting point is 00:25:01 be sleeping because it's gonna be a really nice weekend this weekend. So it's really nice. Well only when they want to control it. Only when they want to control it? No, when they want to do something. But wouldn't they want to control it all the time, Lucretia? They do all over the world. My God, they've got world control. Hurricane rolling and frequency transmission.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Okay, so just get us some nice 85 degree weather all summer. Could you put that order in to the people who know these people? No, I already told you there's a company that can give you weather any day of the week you want. They used to have it in rush for $200, 200 rate. In France if you want a nice wedding and you don't want it to rain. Yeah, I know it's called called cloud seeding. No, my God. They used to advertise it when you'd be able to go to Alaska and drink my pies. All right. All right. Lucretia, love you dearly, you know, as always. But like I said, oh, but I want to say, yeah, the concept that nothing ever natural happens is a real hard one to swallow, but,
Starting point is 00:26:05 you know, maybe we are living in the matrix, Lucretia. I'll give you that much, okay? All right. On that note, and maybe because we are living in the... I don't know, we'll just... I'll just think about this during the break, and then we'll talk about what the state legislators are doing here. Oregon State Legislature apparently is controlled by the Doppler radar system. The Democrats voting yesterday or the other day I think it was, I want to talk with a court voice about this in just a moment, they voted against any kind of modification to the sanctuary city. We don't want violent illegal alien criminals scooped up and taken away.
Starting point is 00:26:47 The Democrats apparently have been affected by the Doppler radar, I think. And we'll see. We'll talk with... But it's only one side that's afflicted by this, I guess. I love SKC writing he says, hey Bill the guy that chases family units of gorillas around the woods of southern Oregon talking about intelligence levels of your listeners that's rich. Hey I appreciate it like I said we take all commerce here but I guess we
Starting point is 00:30:59 could see the battle coming between the the-Doppler radar, weather controlling militias versus the the Bigfoot aficionados on the other side. Man, I'll tell you, get the popcorn out SKC. All right? Email by the way, bill at BillMeyersShow.com. 746, State Representative Court Boyce. I think he stays out of those kind of arguments. Welcome back here, Court. How you doing today? Bill, thanks for having me on. The Rogue Valley legend did all you do, and hey, we've got 56 days to taxpayer freedom
Starting point is 00:31:33 whenever the Oregon legislature is in session. Okay, Court, I'm gonna ask the same thing I would have anyone I haven't talked to for a while. Why are you guys still there? Why are you in? Why are you giving quorum? It's like all you could do is pass Democrat bills by being there. It's all that matters. Court, help me understand. I'm just crying. I can't help myself. Can you help me? Hey, well, of course I understand. I'm too old
Starting point is 00:32:02 to move to Idaho now. I'm staying and fighting. And you know, the walk out in the Senate last year, Bill, uh, we lost four really good legislators. So walking out, uh, at least at this time, you know, I encourage everybody to go to our website on the Oregon freedom coalition. There are seven of us that are, you know, where they're 24 seven and, uh, you know, thank God, uh, no taxes have been increased. Basically, no fee increases so far and, you know, we're just holding line with everything we've got. We've got a great group. We did lose one seat, but...
Starting point is 00:32:36 Well, all I was saying is that, you know, you guys can still walk out. It's just that if you want to come back in, you have to negotiate being excused. And so, when Republicans hide behind the, well, you know, the law says that we're not allowed to walk out, no, you can walk out. It says you're not supposed to have so many unexcused absences that you can't run for reelection. That's what 113 did. And so denying quorum. Now, the next thing you're going to do is make sure that you can't deny quorum. And then I guess we just sit around here and file our nails, you know, during the legislative session. But all right, that's kind of how I'm seeing it. Court,
Starting point is 00:33:10 I'm a little bit frustrated looking from the outside, but yet I'm not inside there. Okay. Well, hey, I understand your frustration. Nothing's off the table, Bill. Yeah. Every session is, every day is a new adventure and we just have to be on our toes and be prepared. Yeah. Speaking of fee increases, I noticed that there are Democrats that want to take that statewide transit tax for the transit systems that a lot of people aren't riding and they're running out of money. And a Democrat out of Portland wants to take that that payroll tax and make it five times bigger. Wow, is there support for something like that going on in the state legislature right now? Because they would need some Republicans to go along with this if it were to move forward.
Starting point is 00:33:49 No, our GOP House side especially is completely united on no new taxes. If you want to take ODOT and the funding fiasco that they have, we've come up with two-thirds of a billion dollars just in savings if we get them focused, Bill, on maintenance and not bicycle projects and climate projects and, you know, state improvement, transportation funding. There's $300 billion right there. Their building needs to be leased. There's, you know, $69 million there. I mean, there's a tremendous list. We presented that. We're going to hold the line and do everything we can to block them and get O.Focus. That's just one of many of the larger issues, of course, that we're dealing with.
Starting point is 00:34:32 Court, could you tell me what happened with that forcing of the vote the other day when it came to illegal aliens and modifying the sanctuary state laws? They would actually have allowed ICE to go clean up some of the criminal types that we have wandering around the states right now. What happened with this? It's something kind of different because you actually forced a floor vote, didn't you? And that's a strategy that slows them down and just focuses on what the real issues are in Oregon, Bill.
Starting point is 00:35:04 How did it work? Yeah, we've, you know, we were four votes or three votes shy, I think. And so we're just going to keep doing those kinds of bill polls that expose us what they believe in. And I did a remonstrance on the floor immediately following that we're not protecting our kids. We're not supporting the federal government. You know, we're in constant contact with the Trump administration, U.S. Attorney General Bondi, and at some point it has to change here in Oregon or we're just going to pound the path to poverty. That's all there is to it.
Starting point is 00:35:41 No doubt about that, but what was the process? What were you doing with this floor vote? What was the purpose of it? What were you trying to accomplish? Maybe just bill poll two or three, maybe four or five Democrats to face reality. No, what was the proposal? What was the proposal? That's what I'm getting to. So people who don't sit there and follow the legislature have no idea what we're talking about. Okay? okay all right we wanted to force a vote on the sanctuary status of Oregon and protecting the criminals and we we got a lot of votes but we didn't get the votes we wanted okay but that also means that you have all the Democrats that voted no on this I would imagine correct and and we have their record to expose them down the
Starting point is 00:36:23 road okay so next campaign type what they're going to say they voted against this before they voted for it? Well, they voted to protect the criminals and keep poking the federal government in the eye that are trying to make our streets safer, our communities safer. It's just appalling. It's just shocking, but nothing up here shocks us, and that's why we're here. But like I was saying earlier, though, at least we know court who the Democrats are working for and this is why it astounds me when I see Republicans that are posing like with their thumbs up, here I am with Democrat blah blah blah blah blah and you know great friends and we're reaching across the aisle, I want to smack people upside the head sometimes.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Now I know you can't do that because it's violent You know this I can't I'm not advocating violence. I'm just talking about what inner bill that you know does wants to do that outer bill probably would not do but Do they ever do you guys ever when I say you guys I'm talking about everybody male female Does the Republican caucus ever sit around and talk about that kind of message like what are you doing with all this reaching across the aisles? They don't care. They hate you. And then they use it against you in the next election. So back to the Freedom Coalition, standing firm, and we just try and really be united on our side. And those votes are just, you know, here's a perfect example. We have $820,000, almost nine that are going to be invested in the United States. None of that money's coming to Oregon, of course. And it's the four state elected officials, five, count bully that,
Starting point is 00:37:55 you know, they're united on, uh, stiff arming the federal government. And, you know, a third of our funding comes from the federal coffers. So yeah, I follow you totally. We're here to fight. People don't wanna hear that term, I understand. But it is bare knuckle because when the public does fully understand at some point, they're gonna start voting to say,
Starting point is 00:38:18 we have got to get back to sanity. We've got to get back to reality. And so we're in it for the long term, we're energized. And yeah, it may be a walkout at some point. I don't see that right now. But we're in it. Well, okay. Well, let me interject, if you don't mind here, with State Representative Court voice, Curry County. By the way, what's your district number again, Court? District one, Cusco and and 4th of Douglas County.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Boy, that should be an easy one for me to remember. I'll try to tuck that away in my brain, okay? Okay. All right. The gun bills, of course, have a lot of people hot and bothered about this. There is nothing about the Second Amendment that hasn't come under a withering attack and has been moving here in the state of Oregon. Is that, you know, is that a hill that the Republican caucus is willing to die on and actually stand up for something and deny quorum when this stuff comes around and negotiate these bills away? Or am I just kind of saying, hey, measure 113 and we had to get along and we have to get a new park for Curry County or Josephine County or something like that. I hate to be so cynical
Starting point is 00:39:27 about it, but help me understand that. No, I do understand. And people are valid in their cynicism with what's going on. And it's abuse of rural Oregon. It's an absolute denial of public safety. I mean, it's Sheriff's Department's all the above. As far as walking out for gun bills, so far so good. We still have 50-some days left, Bill. And so every day is different. You never know exactly what's going to come at you, other than about 20 or 30 different things at the same time. When do you think those bills will come, will start moving, that is at later in the process, like you know when the money starts being decided? When it would be to the Democrats advantage, that's when it
Starting point is 00:40:13 will come. So yes, I think those are coming and we have to be prepared. We're going to do everything we can to debate. We're going to do bill polls. We are starting to see a little bit of the Democrats, four or five, maybe six of the Democrats, that they have to vote a straight party line. We're a little more independent, as you know. But if we can pick those people off and just hit them with reason and logic, there's a chance that... Yeah, so far so good on pushing back against these bills. It's going to require some serious
Starting point is 00:40:45 debate and some serious, you know, I'm in on all those committees on testimony bill and just the irrationality and the, the, again, the abuse of what it does to the rural citizens. I mean, they, they are, they're terrible on our loggers, our farmers, our ranchers, our fishermen, and that they, everything's about the critters. And then, of course, in the long term, we're not preparing for the 2025 fire season. I mean, I continually beat that drum. Bill, you might be interested in December. I asked the governor to call an emergency declaration for the 2025 fire season, and she passed, and we had the LA fires, I asked her again in April and here now we're a month away from fire season.
Starting point is 00:41:27 So- What would be the effect of declaring an emergency? Court. You know, the morale of our Reagan Department of Forestry Force Protective Association ain't so good as you know, after we didn't get them funded till six months after the 24 fire season. The federal government's pulling back a little bit.
Starting point is 00:41:46 We've got to absolutely lobby them with everything we've got to do their part and change the entire forest practices system in Oregon. You know, it's the greatest public safety issue we have. You and the Rogue Valley certainly know that. And everything happened last year, we built about 1.9 million acres acres that's the equivalent of 1 million football fields in our state it's just absolutely heartbreaking and unnecessary. But does declaring the emergency free up the ability to pay ODF contractors more timely in a more timely fashion what does it actually do I just don't want things to be window dressing. Good question. Preparation. Funding from the federal government. That's the last place we want the federal government to pull their support.
Starting point is 00:42:34 And, you know, they've above. We're not ready and the federal government not being fully supportive, but we're making the progress there. I mean, I think the Trump administration wants to see national resources come back in Oregon and be much better managed and it's getting everybody pulling the wagon. Yeah, that'll be an interesting fight because he has said that he wants half of the federal forests being open to actual economic activity, which is certainly different. And I don't believe that the state of Oregon will really have much to say about that.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Or am I wrong about that? What do you think? We're really working hard to leverage him through the BLM through the Forest Service and in that preparation and he has the federal government has a final say even on our state forestry habitat conservation plan systems, which is a debacle for rural Oregon. And yeah, it's just like the Elliott forest mill, 88,000 acres and we're just waiting for a spark we're gonna make a research force instead of giving it back to the public safety in the schools it's just it's
Starting point is 00:43:55 just a fight and you know how does that you know how does turning the Elliott force which is a state force then over to a research forest, how does that help the situation? Because a research forest, rather than actually harvesting it for the common school fund and such, that would seem to be the original purpose of just a ruse to To keep it avoidant. Why is timber harvest and good forest management the roads trails open? It's it's a debacle. It's terrible All right So we're fighting that I've got press releases on that. I got press releases to the to the president Yeah, and you've made it clear that the sine die can't come soon enough in other words, right? Yeah, and you've made it clear that Signee Dye can't come soon enough, in other words, right?
Starting point is 00:44:51 You know, I'm going to be here 24-7 as though it was our crew, but yeah, he can't come soon enough, and you know, we're going to sprint to the finish line, Bill. All right, stay in touch, Court. State Representative of the Court, Boies.
