It's over at Freddie's yesterday. South, not South Medford, North Medford exit there, getting something from my mom for, you know, the Mother's Day events going on this weekend. And so I'm in line and I go into the,
Starting point is 00:00:29 they call it the family line and the checkers. And so it's the family line. So I think, okay, it's fun. And the fellow then says, hey, you know, how are you doing? I said, I'm great. I'm in the family line. Does this mean that I can pitch a fit and have a you know Have a temper tantrum and throw things and scream like a kid. He starts laughing and I'm just having fun with a write-in and I said hey, I think I recognize you You know the radio said yeah, I'll be on pill bill Myron. So we talked a little bit It's Tim and there's Tim and there's Douglas I just want to do a shout out to the crew over at Fred Meyer. Just a great meeting them. And no, I didn't pitch a fit. Although sometimes I feel like it. I think we all feel that way sometimes, but that's the family line,
Starting point is 00:01:11 right? Let me go to Ken. Ken, it's good to have you here. Red-pilled Republican you say, huh? Yeah, what you want to talk about this morning? Go ahead. You know, man, you know, it really, I just got out of prison. I just did 29 years in the Nevada prison system. I went in 1996 and I just got out October 1st. I'm 47. And when I was younger, I was a bleeding heart, whack job liberal, all right, because I see it now.
Starting point is 00:01:43 You know, I wanted everything for free and I wanted everything given to me. And as I got older, I realized that wasn't the case so much. And you know, a lot of the listeners out there would be really, really surprised at how many Republicans are in prison. Now I don't know about Oregon, but I mean, I can speak on prison. And this is because of Trump. You know, when Trump got in office,
Starting point is 00:02:13 basically, man, he was putting all the scumbags on blast. And a lot of, we'll say, whites and blacks inside the prison system have slowly but surely continued to move towards Trump. What do you think does that, Ken, if you don't mind me interjecting and asking? Why do you think there was that move? Okay, well, you know, a lot of them in the beginning realized that the Democrats are the ones who are releasing people from prison. So, you know, they realized this. But yet at the same time, they realized that Trump said, well, let's educate the guys in prison so that when they get out, they know how to go work a job.
Starting point is 00:02:58 So I just got released and I've been trying to get a job and I just did here about two or three weeks ago out there in Phoenix. But man, I mean I went to Lowe's, I went to Walmart, I went to the gym, I went you know everywhere. And you know I'd fill out the application or they do a background check and immediately I was just nope, nope, nope, nope. Yeah, you're flagged. Well, do you mind me asking what you were in for? Or were those yours? Murder and robbery.
Starting point is 00:03:31 OK. And but, you know, here's the wild thing. And I mean, man, this just kind of gets deep, man, is that a lot of guys, and we'll just say Americans, not born Americans, in the prison system see this, that they're pushed aside for illegal immigrants or whatever. And it happens in the prison system too. And you can see how the prison system is actually bilking the federal government, because as soon as you go in, what they're going to do is they're going to just run you through
Starting point is 00:04:04 the education system. So first they're going to make you they're going to just run you through the education system. So first they're going to make you get your GED and then get your high school diploma, which education is cool, but they get paid for each one of those. The prison system gets money from the federal government for every little program they install. The problem is they're not installing programs that actually help you here in the real world. So they're going to institute a bunch of programs like Getting It Right, Acage Your Rage, these little programs that nobody really cares about taking. The inmates are only taking them that way they can get out of prison earlier, but they're not teaching
Starting point is 00:04:42 any job skills. So when the prisoner gets out of prison, they're like, man, they don't know how to do nothing. They've already got a record. So when they do apply for a job, they're like, do you know how to do this? And they're like, no. So if it was like Trump said in his first term, well, let's educate them in actually working, knowing how to do things, welding, plumbing, whatever the case may be. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:12 So there's nothing like that in prison. I've never been in prison, Ken. So I, you're catching me flat-footed on, I mean, something tells me that there's Hollywood, there's Hollywood prison and there may be real life prison. I don't know what the know what the differences might be. Did you have to gang up in the Nevada system to be able to survive? You know man, I mean yeah there's gangs in there man and you don't necessarily have to click up.
Starting point is 00:05:41 You know if you just mind your business and keep your mouth shut, you're good to go, you know what I mean? But you know, slowly but surely, like at first man, when Trump first got in there, a lot of blacks were hating on him because they're being poisoned by the mainstream media. And the only TV channels that they get to watch in there is ABC, NBC, CBS. So they're poisoned. And then I would tell them, I'd say, listen, man, you know, you guys sit here and you're riding Biden, you know, riding on this dude. I said, but what you don't know is in the nineties, that dude stood up in the Senate and called all your uncles, all your dads, super predators. And he was race baiting, you know what I mean? It's race politics.
Starting point is 00:06:28 And they were like, what are you talking about? I said, have your people look it up. When Joe Biden sat there and said, they're all super predators, let's lock them all up, I said, he instituted the mandatory minimums. I said, so you sit here and complain about your sentence and this, that, and the other, the man you want to be in office is the man who initiated it all. And now they're starting to become educated in the prison system. So it's breaking through the matrix, I guess, here. Ken, this is really interesting. I'm glad you got a job here, and I would imagine then, are you
Starting point is 00:07:07 able to cage your rage or, you know, whatever happened 29 years ago? Yeah, I actually preached the gospel, and so, you know, absolutely. I was preaching the gospel before I got out, and that's what I do now on YouTube and all that, and I also preach for a church back east. Now, did that help you get through your prison experience, Ken? You know, what I did was absolutely wrong and I did it. I fully take responsibility.
Starting point is 00:07:38 The programs that they did institute, they really don't help, man. You know what helps? Doing time. Really? Doing time. And so, you know... In other words, it focused your mind. You had a lot of time to think, right? Well, yeah, man. You know, it's... And I was a screw-up in there. I definitely was a screw up. And it was Christ who actually helped me, because I was a pagan, I was in a gang life, I was all that. And Christ found me, I didn't find him.
Starting point is 00:08:13 And it was at that point that things got good. You know, there's a prison in Texas, that they have a unit that's just dedicated to turning inmates into pastors and this and that, and what have you. Their recidivism rate is less than one percent. You know, there's something to the concept of a higher power is someone looking over your shoulder, right? I think that has great impact on people, wouldn't it? Absolutely, because when you take that out of the equation, the recidivism rate is over half. And the thing is, is now, you know, when you have Democrat-led states and systems, that means it's a Democrat-led prison system. Now, I went in when our state was deep red, and when we got a Democrat governor, he instituted a Democrat director of prisons. And man, all
Starting point is 00:09:06 the sudden it was, let's create level systems, let's overcomplicate everything. And then what they did is they started to shield and shelter all the people who had sex crimes, child molesters, things of this nature, and they started to shield and protect those people. And then, you know, it just really over-complicating the system. You know, you wake up in the morning, you know where you got to go, you go to work, you go to school, whatever. Well, now it was you needed an escort, and then you'd have to add this, and just add multiple layers of administration until literally the system doesn't work anymore.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Ken, if you could wrap this up. I'm sorry, I kept you here about eight minutes longer than I probably was, but it's not very often you get to talk to someone who's had your experience and is eloquent at talking their truth out of this. Amen. And could I give you a call another time and maybe actually set you up as a guest some morning? I mean, I'll get your phone number out of the caller ID. But I'm glad that you're clean, that you're getting movements, moving
Starting point is 00:10:27 forward and getting some progress in here. But an interesting story, I'd like to find out more. I'll have you back. Okay, Ken? Thank you. Absolutely. God bless. All right. God bless you too. We all need that. Wow. Interesting. You know, you sometimes never know. You pick up the phone and you're just going, okay, you know, who do we have here today? It just happens. From Nevada, in there for a long time. It's a long time. Long time. I can't even conceptualize what that is like to lose your liberty that way. He got straight. It's 14 after 8. Find your phone Friday. We go to Paul first. Paul, good to have you on. What were you thinking this morning? Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Well, regarding the last man who's just got out of prison in Nevada, I just wonder if in our schools all the wonderful books we have on the drag queens and the little panic shakers that come down in the second graders, but God forbid they let the Bible even be available in the schools. And I just wonder if maybe we're not starting off people the wrong way. Well, when you start people off with nobody looking over your shoulder, mmm... No consequences. Do what you want. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:30 And everything is about self-actualizing. It's an interesting point, Paul. Thanks for bringing that up. 770-5633. Good hearing from you. Let me go to Logan. Hello, Logan. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Hey, Bill. Hey, I don't know if anyone else heard when he said the recidivism rate when those people go in that biblical program is less than 1%. I want to just echo that and echo that and echo that. Our Jackson County jail system could really use a good men's ministry in there. I've been trying to speak with the chaplain for over seven years now. I think we've had the same chaplain since the early 90s.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Obviously the status quo is not effective. Our recidivism rate in Jackson County is off the chart. Isn't there a case to be made that one of the reasons, well, you think about it, okay, the recidivism rate of someone who's in the ministry goes down to a very, very small amount, but couldn't part of that be that it's not necessarily the program as much as it is that they've made the choice already to change their life? Could that be part of it too? That they've already
Starting point is 00:16:45 made that choice that, hey, this is not working for me and I have to go a different way? What do you think? Well, to be honest, Bill, as a man of faith, that's really what the only thing that can change you. You know, they have the 12-step program at AA, and it's about surrendering your will to a higher power, whether that be the Lord, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, or however you want to look at it, the Great Spirit, like the Indians look at it or whatever, but there's a true surrender that has to go on for true change to happen. And I think, well, I don't think, I know that our jail system is extremely lacking just from the stays I stayed in there in the last 20 years.
Starting point is 00:17:31 I mean, every time I went in there, I requested to see a chaplain and have a Bible, and every time that was not provided to me. So I don't know if it's necessarily happening at the level, because I spoke with the chaplain and, oh, I never got any kites. So, I don't know if it's happening at the level of the deputies aren't just getting the kites to there. But I think, you know, our Jackson County Commissioner just spent $1.8 million of our tax dollars two weeks ago voting to continue to hand out money to these on-track systems
Starting point is 00:18:04 and these other organizations. I'm willing to go in there and do it for free. There is no cost to the taxpayer. The fact that this can't happen is a tragedy. And it's like we have a gatekeeper, from what I understand. Several ministries have tried to come and speak to the jail, but I guess our chaplain is, for lack of a better term, a gatekeeper, and you have to be on his good side to be
Starting point is 00:18:32 able to get in there and do ministry. And it's a tragedy. I just wanted to bring it to the public's attention because I guarantee you it'll have an effect. All right. Logan, appreciate the call. I wasn't really aware of that. 7705633, Brad's here. Hello, Brad. Morning.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Hey, brother. Hi. Your brother from another mother. Slovenian mother, yes, indeed. Before I get started, I really want to speak to the higher power. It is so potent because I've been married 47 years and I have to bend to a higher power. What's her name? Her name is Lark. I'm kidding. I'm just having fun with you. Okay. Yeah, brother. Hey, the reason I called, you know, you have such a plethora of listeners that call in and that share their lives. And Lucretia, I always have my heart out for her. I have something available for her. If if if it's, you know, you know, we can get off air. But if I can get her address, I would love to
Starting point is 00:19:44 send her some petitsa and some Rainier beer. Rainier beer and petitsa, that could solve all the world's problems. In fact, if the climate's being changed from Doppler radar being taken over for nefarious purposes, at least you'll feel better with petitsa and Rainier beer. You know what absolutely the more Rainier the better. Brad I appreciate your compassion I really do okay. You got it brother. Thank you for that. 7705633 let me go to another line here on open find your phone Friday I guess. Hi who's this good morning. Hey Bill it's Matt. Hi Matt how you doing? I'm doing great I gotta tell you know, a lot of the calls that come in, they're political in nature and current events. That call from Ken was very interesting, intriguing, I would say. Yes, I thought so too. I thought so too. And I'm glad that you kept him on as long as you did. Something that jumped out at me is when you were talking about what he was talking about, how the Lord turned him around,
Starting point is 00:20:54 and then you asked a question like what caused him to kind of rehabilitate. And then he said doing time. And I thought that was, I didn't expect that answer. I didn't either. Basically, you know, there's been a huge argument, right? When you had penal colonies, you know, it was about, is the point of prison or jail, is it to rehabilitate or is it to penalize for your crimes? Obviously getting 29 years for attempted murder and armed robbery, I think he said. Yes. If he hadn't done the time, it makes you wonder if he'd gotten out in five years,
Starting point is 00:21:40 would he be rehabilitated? There are differences of opinion even within the penal world about this. Some are saying, okay, we can work with people and try to get them out sooner. Maybe that works for some, but it probably works for some who have already decided that they want to. That's what I was getting at too. It's kind of like even being a drug addict or someone else having problems. When does your life change when you decide that you want to change really isn't that it and sometimes just
Starting point is 00:22:13 takes time before you can come to that. Yeah having had a brother who's a drug addict you know until they decide. I'm hoping when you have him back on the air if you could ask him a question. Now he's in there for 29 years. I mean, for some people that's half their life. It certainly could be half their adult life easily. I'm wondering if he had received parole, was turned loose after five years or 10 years or 15 years, does he think he would have hit bottom?
Starting point is 00:22:44 Does he think if he was let out sooner, that would have been like, you know what? I got a lot of money for crime and yeah, I'm living this wild life. And he said he was hooked up with, you know, some bad people. If he would have gone right back to that or, you know, time heals all Bill. Yeah. I'm not saying that sarcastically. I'm saying that, youically. I'm saying that You know what with a lot of fun one of my favorite movies and one of the greatest movies of all time is to Shawshank
Starting point is 00:23:14 Redemption agreed and I read I remember when red goes in for that parole hearing and he says what I like to go back to the young me and Tell me how stupid I was and that I was being you know foolish and I should have done those things yes but you know am I rehabilitated I don't even know what that means I just those two things came into my mind as you were talking to Ken and I think this is something that we have to contemplate I know there's some very bad people out there there certainly are and I do believe in good and evil, and I believe some people, there is no hope on this earth
Starting point is 00:23:48 for them. But there are a lot of people also that you don't want to give up on everyone, right? I would agree with you, and I'm someone who is very strong on crime, but I agree sometimes. And it's not me. I'm not smart enough or insightful enough to divine who has that spark of righteousness, who can be saved and who cannot. And I don't be saved necessarily in a Christian way, but just saved as a human. I don't know who can do that. But the other thing... Yeah, it's kind of like that starfish on the beach parable, you know, in which they talk about, you know, the people that are grabbing the, there's the one person out there on the beach with
Starting point is 00:24:31 all the beach starfish, you know, that one and someone's saying, well, why are you, why are you, you know, bothering trying to save these individuals? You know, there's just so many, you can't save them all. And the person says, well, I saved this one, the one that he picked up and threw back in the water. It's all we can do, ultimately, right? Yeah, I mean, I know people, good friends of mine, who minister to youth who are in a correctional facility, and they really feel called to that. And I do think that the earlier
Starting point is 00:25:09 you can reach people, the better. You know, the younger you can reach them, the better. And I know from coaching basketball for 20 years. Well, you also know though that crime is especially a young man's game, unfortunately. That's just the reality. Well, and so Ken may be right. It may be that the only thing that turned him around was doing time. Okay. Matt, I think it's very thoughtful as always. I appreciate your call. Is it?
Starting point is 00:25:32 Appreciate you too. Okay. It's 828 at KMED. Kim Commando Digital Update is coming up here in just a moment. Then we'll grab more of your calls here. Starting point is 00:27:34 more than $1,000. Yeah, a lot of money. And no, it has nothing to do with tariffs. I'm Kim Commando for TotalAV, the award-winning antivirus software for just $19 right now at ProtectWithKim.com. 90% of Apple's iPhones are made in China, and unless things change fast, China will be hit with the highest tariffs, think somewhere greater than 100%. So when the tariffs hit, a top-of-the-line iPhone could cost you more than $2,000. Apple's trying to get ahead by pulling some of the new iPhones out of India to boost American inventory.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Apple's also greatly increasing production in China to get more phones into America as soon as possible. If you have a broken hitch, you need some fabricating, need some welding, take it over to Two Dogs Fabricating. And Doug, of course, he's our community jokester here. And it's perfect given that there is a new pope out there. What do you call a nun that walks in her sleep? A Roman Catholic? I know. You have to groan a little bit, right? Let me go to Todd. Hello Todd, how you doing this morning? Welcome. It's on your mind. Very well sir. I'll start with having an end with the light. I got a tour of the Salinas State Prison
Starting point is 00:30:45 down in California, and that's a dark place. And I just want everyone to know that the vast majority of the people who are serving time in prison, they're going to be out someday. So it's in our interest, our selfish interest, to make sure that their adjustment back into the outside world works. It's to our benefit and their benefit. I would agree with you if you don't mind me just wanted to mention that I've been reading about some different ways of running prisons and I know that the Norwegians or various other individual Swedes and Norwegians are looking at
Starting point is 00:31:22 incarceration differently than we do. And I don't know if they may have a few ideas here that seem to work better. It's almost like they put prisoners almost in village-type systems to try to get them... I don't know how to put it. Maybe I'm inelegantly explaining this. I'm going to get a guest to explain more of this, but they have a different way from just taking everybody and putting them in a big concrete box for 30 years is what they do. Now, it might work for their culture. Maybe it's a cultural issue, but I just thought I'd just mention that. Please continue. Sorry for the interruption.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Oh, not at all. Not at all. It's a very important subject matter. I mean, the church I attend, nationally, they send people into prisons to try to do the work. I couldn't do that. No. Braver people than me. God bless them when they can. God bless the people who can. Okay? Okay, now to the important stuff. Lucretia. She reminds me of the God lover. She reminds me of that Steven Wright routine, the stand-up comic, where he's saying he's sitting down with his grandfather watching a football game, and they make a touchdown, and then they show the replay, and the grandfather thinks they made another touchdown.
Starting point is 00:32:33 And he was going to correct his grandfather, and he thought, you know what? The game he's watching is better than the one I'm watching. And she's in a much more interesting world than the one I'm living in. You know, that's an interesting description. You know the way I tend to look at Lucretia here, Todd, is that if even 10% – and I've said this for a long time – if even 10% of what Lucretia brings to the show and talks about is true, we got some weird crap going on, okay? Maybe that's...
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah, I want to hear it. Yeah, if even 10% of it, if even the other 90% of it, I'm kind of... I don't know. I don't know what. But fair enough. Have a great weekend. All right. Thank you very much. Have a great weekend. By the way, there has been a... there was a death in our radio family a number of weeks ago, not to bring things down, but you know, since we're sort of in thoughtful mode here, we have been in thoughtful mode the last few minutes especially, instead of just, you know, red meat, Republican good,
Starting point is 00:33:36 Democrat bad, you know, all that kind of stuff, which I don't like being in that mode anyway, but when you're controlled by Democrats in a Democrat majority state, you know, where else can you go? But we had a death in our family, not our, you know, my personal family, but our radio family. And I haven't talked about it for a number of weeks because it had me so bummed out that I just couldn't approach it. And it was Michael Shaw. And I wanted to let you know about this
Starting point is 00:34:06 if you were not aware of Michael Shaw. Michael Shaw and I've had many deep conversations on the air, both on and off air. And of course, he was a business owner here in Southern Oregon, was living up in Washington, was commuting back and forth in here. You know, he talked about his motorcycle. And he died about three weeks ago,
Starting point is 00:34:27 maybe even a little more. And it really hit me. Here's some details I don't feel like, you know, talking about, and I've been in contact with his wife. And it's, he's gonna be very, well, he's already seriously missed because he was a great man, ran a premier pack and ship here. The business is still going.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Good people all involved in this. I was so saddened by it, I couldn't really talk about it. It took him a while for me to process this. So if you could keep his soul in your prayers, I'd appreciate that. But Michael Shaw, a great guy, and a big talk radio listener and caller too, and very smart and thoughtful.
Starting point is 00:35:16 And you always try to encourage smart and thoughtful. Really appreciated that. So Michael, we still miss you. It's 838. Roman Catholic cardinals elected the first U.S.-born pope yesterday, Chicago-born missionary Robert Prevost has taken the name of Leo XIV.
Starting point is 00:39:03 As the bells of St. Peter's rang out, tens of thousands of people began surging towards the square, some of them running. All attention then shifted away from that chimney to the balcony of the basilica itself. But it was another hour before the crowd knew which one of the cardinals had been chosen. And even when they saw the man who'd taken the name
Starting point is 00:39:22 Leo XIV step out, very few seemed to realize he was an American. When they did, those who had come from the U.S. were shocked and delighted. We're going to give you a little bit of U.S. history and then you get to choose from five answers, okay? All righty, yeah. All right. Future President Zachary Taylor fights the Battle of Palo Alto. It was yesterday in history, May 8th, 1846. Drift toward war with Mexico. It began a year before the battle when the US annexed the Republic of Texas.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Ten years prior, Mexicans had fought an unsuccessful war with those Texans to keep them from breaking away and become an independent nation. Now, the Mexican general Mariano Arista viewed this all as a hostile invasion of Mexican territory. So, he took soldiers across the river and attacked. Congress declared war May 13, authorized a draft to build up the U.S. Army, but even before then, May 8, near Palo Alto, the next day at Resaca de la Palma, Zachary Taylor led his 200 soldiers to victory against
Starting point is 00:42:46 a much larger Mexican force. Poor training, inferior armaments, undermined the Mexican army's advantage, Mexican gun powder, for example, such poor quality that artillery barrages often set the cannonballs bouncing lazily across the battlefield and the American soldiers just had to step out of the way to avoid them. Yikes. But Zachary Taylor emerged from the war a national hero, Melinda, which propelled him to the White House. Unfortunately, he died only 31 days into his term. So he's a war hero. He comes in and boom! He's taken out a month later. What did he die of?
Starting point is 00:43:33 Was it A, cholera, B, scarlet fever, C, dysentery, D, tuberculosis. I think they call it consumption at that point. Or was it E, typhoid fever? It's one of those. What do you say? What did he die from? Cholera, A. Cholera, A? You think it's that simple the very first... yeah. You know, this is the third quiz in a row that the first answer has nailed it. Oh great.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Brian Coppage, the sales guy who writes these quizzes, he is now banging his head on the wall. I know he is. His goal is that, you know, if he can't get people at least three, four in. But yeah, it's true. He got back from a public ceremony, complained that he felt sick, and he had a recurring attack of cholera. He died several days later, just 15 months, just a little bit into his term. Doctors of the day believed his death was caused by cholera contracted after eating
Starting point is 00:44:24 fresh cherries and drinking milk on a hot summer day. term. Doctors of the day believed his death was caused by cholera contracted after eating fresh cherries and drinking milk on a hot summer day, but there were rumors that he had been poisoned. 140 years later they dug him up and they established he had not been poisoned. The level of arsenic in his body was consistent with other people of the time But the level of antimony was not they believe that his death was of natural causes though. I was able to avoid calling multiple contractors, a driller, a pump installer, and then figuring out water filtration. With Siskiyou Pump, it was simple. One company, one handled my entire project and it gave me peace of mind. And if I ever have questions, I know exactly who to call. Siskiyou Pump Service and Rotary Drilling Company. Starting point is 00:47:35 By the way, a correction to the Diner 62 Real American Quiz. It was not 31 days, it was 15 months. He died 15 months, Zachary Taylor, into his. The 31 days was a different president. Forget which one off the top of my head, though, but we just want to try to be accurate, at least as accurate as possible. All right. Some emails of the day, and man, I've got a bunch of them.
Starting point is 00:48:01 I don't even know where to start, but we'll try here. Emails of the day and those are sponsored by Dr. Steve Nelson at Central Point Family Dentistry. Centralpointfamilydentistry.com it's on Freeman Way it's right next door to the Mazelon Mexican restaurant which is right next door to the McDonald's there so you just go up there there you go into the into the Freeman Plaza and great people there. Starting point is 00:48:36 in you go. That's the way it's been, probably every time I've ever been there. Try that out. They value your time. CentralPointfamilydentistry.com. So many emails here and I'll try to go over a few of them. The Rev. David LaBarbera talks about the Pope and he says, Hello Bill, a British journalist Ben Harnwell made an interesting point this morning. The Vatican's finances are in the red and can't pay pensions of the priests. So the conclave chose Prévost, who, like Bergoglio, loved by liberals and progressives but without the baggage of
Starting point is 00:49:11 the last pope, who is American, and will hopefully pick up the donations lost from America because of Pope Francis constantly slamming America's capitalism. I hope I made sense of that. In other words, choosing pre-votes was a financial move, not a spiritual move, and a way to get money from Americans. What a sham if Hanwell, who I believe is Catholic, is correct. Dave, I appreciate you writing in about that. Elaine writes me about state rep Boy voice a court voice rather bill he sounds like Emily he thinks the Dems care what he has to say they're afraid to walk out because it might accomplish something but he might lose his
Starting point is 00:49:53 government freebies they aren't going to help us it's just a job something to run their mouths about he's so impressed with himself you asked him about walking out and he almost broke his tongue with the reasons why they can't do that. Appreciate your opinion there, Elaine. There's a lot of frustration, a lot of frustration over this. I talked with Dwayne Younger about this and Dwayne is willing to do it, but he says, you can't walk in on your own. You have to get everybody on board with them and there are enough people who are, shall we say,
Starting point is 00:50:26 political crossdressers willing to? We've got to be friends and if we show the Democrats what good people we are, they'll recognize what good people we are and they'll help us move good bills and they'll stop the bad bills. Oh, so people of such little or such great naivete, I guess, is really what's going on. John writes, Bill, there are countless numbers of bureaucrats, politicians, and billionaires who should go to prison for one crime or another. However, here's my list of people who, if we were going to reopen Alcatraz, Tony Fauci, his actions during the 1980s AIDS crisis
Starting point is 00:51:07 and during COVID in the early 2020s resulted in countless lives damaged or lost. Why there are still people who think he's public health saint is beyond me. Alejandro Mayorkas, Andrew Cuomo, as New York governor, he forced nursing homes to take COVID patients, resulting in who knows how many deaths. Now there are rumors he may run for mayor of New York City. Yep. Schwab, Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, George Soros, Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and ironically, one of the biggest pushers of DEI, which many people have been propagandized into thinking it's
Starting point is 00:51:38 a good thing. And Albert Bourria, the CEO of Pfizer. He lied about his company's COVID jabs, and may have bribed corporate media and various politicians to push the narratives in the Vax mandates. John, thank you so much. Paul writes me this morning in great humor, says, Bill, having heard the other day about Oregon House Bill 3532 and renaming of landmarks like China Manhattan, Cannibal Mountain. I just thought that while we're in the business of renaming things, we should rename the Oregon Historical Society to the Oregon Revisionist Society and maybe the governor to loser in charge. Paul, I'm giving you a real American salute because you make me laugh.
Starting point is 00:52:21 I love that. Don writes, Bill, you know peaches are cannibal too. Cannibal. Yeah, that's a nice little pun there. Jeff. Oh, Jeff has outdone himself. Bill, I think that Cannibal Mountain should be renamed Cannabis Mountain. That would reflect the times. Yeah, I'm giving it to you. A little crown on your head, on your pointy little head. Dan also writes, Hey Bill, is Cannibal Mountain near the Donner Pass picnic area? Yeah. Betty writes about Cannibal Mountain, Bill, that sounds like a six-pack of BS to me.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Glad they're spending the state money for useful things. The names are history. Leave them alone. Now, Chinaman Hat, that is an island rock off of Oahu, Hawaii. I have no clue as to where the one in Oregon is. I think it's someplace in Joe County, I believe, and I have to look that up, though. David sends along a letter that he sent to State Representative Duane Younger. Dear Mr. Younger, I applaud your reading of the books on the floor. I don't understand how it can be appropriate for children, but not for the tender ears of the legislators who approve of the book being made available for children.
Starting point is 00:53:35 I will paraphrase our Lord, anyone who causes harm to children will not be well received in his kingdom. It would be better for him to be weighed down and tossed into deep water and drowned. My advice is not to stand too close to any of these people on the day of judgment, Representative Younger. I believe that area will be fairly warm. Keep up the good work. Ken wrote me here, and Ken Haterna, and Ken, we got to do this. Bill, facts matter. I heard the podcast version, it was cut short.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Maybe I missed something. But Todd emailed and talked about the Duramax. And this is, oh, this is about which engines are bad. The ones from General Motors that they're recalling. Said Duramax, that's a diesel engine not having the issue. The oil on the Duramax recommended for the big Duramax is 1540. For the 3.0 little engine, OW20, of which there are very few of them, I've not heard of a recommended change. Again, the engine with the issue is the
Starting point is 00:54:35 General Motors LT1. They are recommending a change of oil for this engine from 0020 to 0040, okay? Facts matter. When in the parts business, people came in with all kinds of ideas that were wrong and based on information. LT1 is the problem, not LS or Duramax. I'm a local business with many storages,
Starting point is 00:54:57 apartments, commercial rentals, and a large amount of fire. I've been doing all of that for 30 years and still going. Not the auto parts store and machine shop, but there's a constant stream from the experts and callers of little things to major things that are wrong. We're all guilty of this at times. So Ken, thank you very much. And duly noted LT1, LT1, LT1.
Starting point is 00:55:19 And yeah, instead of going from zero to zero W20, it's zero W-40. So the oil is pretty much thicker on the high side of that. Thanks so much. I really appreciate your listenership. Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend and we will return once again Monday. The email over the weekend and always, billatbillemiershow.com.
