Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Meyer Show podcast is sponsored by Clouser Drilling. They've been leading the way in southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Clouser Drilling.com. Here's Bill Meyer. And we have the Outdoor Report every Friday sponsored by Oregon Truck and Auto Authority on Airway Drive in Metford. It's 14 minutes after seven. Mr. Outdoors rejoins the program. Hello, Greg.
Starting point is 00:00:22 How are you doing this morning, Greg Roberts? Oh, I'm doing good so far. So, you know, just easing my way into a Friday, as it were. Yeah, I get that. I'm kind of getting that feeling too. I'm looking for a calm weekend, maybe even, I don't know if it's going to be a calm morning or not. I don't know, I look at some of the news though, I get a little irritated. I know we're supposed to talk. We will talk the outdoors I just have to ask you, you know about this Are the right-wing people emotionally weak right now when it comes to President Trump? This is the question I'm posting. Wait, are they emotionally weak?
Starting point is 00:00:59 Yeah, emotionally weak and this is why this is where I'm coming from. I was reading this whole thing about the the Comey the Comey social media post 86 47 supposedly the the shells on the beach, you know that sort of thing. It's a bunch of BS Of course, you know that sort of thing. I am absolutely no fan of James Comey None as far as I'm concerned It's not a deep enough hole for him to go hide in, in my opinion, right? Not good. Not good situation. But at the same time, to sit here and we're going to do an investigation because of 86-47. In other words, you know, deep six, 47, getting rid of 47. You know, people trying to conflate this as an assassination attempt, what?
Starting point is 00:01:46 Are we no better than the idiots that we're talking about every time someone did the little OK sign? It was a white supremacist action? It's like, what's going on here? I don't get that. I just wanted to have people calm down on something like that. That's just me though. Just me.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Well, yeah, now that I've heard you fully explain the premise on where you're going with that, yeah, there is some element of that. I get to see it manifested in ways that just totally shock me because I have no way to explain why so many Trump supporters believe in chemtrails, but they do. And I have no way to explain why, you know, sadly the more it's looked at, you know, this threat that people were going to go around and start destroying Doppler radar sites. That unfortunately also seems to be a lot of Trump supporters.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Well, people are a little bit tight right now, including, and I'm a Trump supporter, but my thing is just like, gosh, come on, man. We were all sitting around there getting all hot and bothered because our free speech was being infringed quite often by the state organs and the social media and everything else. It's just like, lighten up. And I hate, well, I shouldn't say hate. I dislike strongly Comey, the former FBI director. So that's all I'm saying. But this idea that we're going to say,
Starting point is 00:03:27 I've been around 63, almost 64 years. I have never heard until this story that 86 was ever viewed as a veiled attempt or a veiled threat for assassination. It was always about, hey, you're gone, we're going to throw you out. I was 86 from Safeway, you know, for whatever reason, you know, that kind of thing. That's what we, that's what I always know. And now all of a sudden, oh, it's an assassination and we have to investigate. Come on, aren't we adults in this country? Can we be adults in this country?
Starting point is 00:04:00 This is something I would expect Democrats to be doing and getting all hissy-fitted about, if it was being done on Biden, that kind of thing. And Elon Musk has a semi-straight arms high, hello out there on the stage, and he's doing the Nazi salute. It's like, come know, on the other hand, there's something else though that don't lose sight of. You know, Trump isn't just rocking the boat, he's pretty much capsizing the boat. And the people who spent their whole careers on being in the boat and building the biggest staterooms for themselves aren't happy. And they can't figure out how to swing popular opinion against him.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Everything they've ever done in the past to people just does not work with this guy. You know, I mean, it's been whispered for years what actually happened to JFK, and there may be some element of truth to that. No U.S. president is ever 100% totally safe from organized moves against them and to take them out. None of them. Yeah, but I don't think 86-47 on the seashell beach, and then he, of course, Comey apologizes afterwards. You know, Comey's an idiot.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Well, yeah, because what he did was he let his anger and his jealousy and everything, all the other, you know, sins of moral depravity get the better of him and he expressed it. And they're going to do that. The bigger thing to watch for is when they're not expressing it in any kind of a public way, because yeah, I don't think the US government as a whole is totally on board with him. And yes, other than the Iranians, I do think the greatest physical danger to the president comes from within the US government quote-unquote. And you know that's just a sad fact of life. Yeah. Well if you've read up anything on some
Starting point is 00:06:17 of the interesting books on JFK and that the system wanted him gone and they wanted him gone in a big way. We had military generals that wanted him gone. Now I imagine there may be some of that going on in here but that's not 86 47 on the social media post and we're going to investigate this as a crime. It's like come on. I think Comey just it all got to be too much for him and I don't know what he was looking to do but in terms of James Comey, I would definitely not trust that guy at all. And I would be very suspicious of every move he would make because he is definitely one of those that is now clinging to the boat that's sinking underneath them and he has no idea what to do next.
Starting point is 00:07:02 All right. Which makes him actually a dangerous individual. Yeah, and that's fine. And you watch that kind of danger, but that's not the deal. And, you know, we have enough attacks on free speech these days. And I'm just really concerned about this, that the land of the free is becoming less free every day. And even, you know, depending on who's in charge, whether it's right-wing wanting to restrict some talk now, whether it it's right wing wanting to restrict some talk now,
Starting point is 00:07:25 whether it's left wing wanting to restrict some talk now, right wing as an example, wants to restrict any kind of any kind of criticism of the country of Israel. So, you know, hey listen, I'm a free person. I want everybody to be free to be able to talk about what they need to talk about, but that's not so popular, I guess, in today's America and that really bugs me. I guess that irritates me. It's a pebble in my shoe on Friday. Okay, so there we go All right, this gets back but this gets back to the beam that I love because well, I'm pretty sure No person of native ancestry actually said it. I love this one left ring left wing right wing Same bird. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Of course, Oregon though flies with its own two left wings though. You understand that, right? Yeah, and we just continually go in circles. Yeah, it's always a continual corkscrew. It's amazing. Hey, Greg, why don't we break down here a little bit here. It looks like it's gonna be a nice weekend, just a little bit cooler, a few showers and things, but not a lot of drama. What are we looking at for outdoor activity over the next week or so? Why don't you break that down for us?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Yeah, today we're kind of sitting right in the middle of two systems, one departing out to our east, that came through yesterday, and gotta admit that thing actually overperformed the model expectations. It wasn't like we saw a lot of rain, but I was surprised that we did see any and it was traced to a couple tenths amounts down here in our end of the state. It was a bit heavier up north, but again it
Starting point is 00:08:58 wasn't a terribly impactful thing. That's moving off to the east this morning. The one that's coming in though will be a bit more interesting because it definitely will be bringing wetter conditions than what we saw last night and overnight in terms of showers for us. Tomorrow is going to be down in the 60s, so temps well below average. But the more interesting aspect of it will be the fact it's going to generate thunderstorms from the Cascades East tomorrow. So anybody with outdoor plans on the Cascades are definitely going to see more significant rainfall, definitely that very good chance to have thunderstorms
Starting point is 00:09:41 happening. So if Diamond Lake, Fish Lake, Lake of the Woods, Howard Prairie, Hyatt Lake, those areas were in your recreation plans for the weekend, excuse me, tomorrow? Yeah, chance of thunderstorms. Then it's a second act on Sunday when that system goes through and we start improving and drying out and then we're going to see a ridge build up that quite honestly, the way the pattern looks right now, it's going to hold all the way through the Memorial Day weekend, giving us a great look at a lot of very sunny skies, very seasonally average temperatures.
Starting point is 00:10:23 So Memorial Day weekend, there's a whole slew of things going on for people that will be outdoors. Of course, Boatnik and Grants Pass being a huge part of that. And it looks like Boatnik's just gonna wind up having absolutely perfect weather, beautiful, sunny, and not too hot. So probably gonna be drawing a lot of people out to Boatnik
Starting point is 00:10:45 with weather like that. If you got camping plans, the entire Memorial Day weekend across Oregon is looking absolutely beautiful right now, so I don't know where everybody's camping plans would be, but for the upcoming Memorial Day, that whole holiday weekend, Friday through Monday, I just don't see bad weather happening anywhere in the state, even down across Northern California. We're just getting set up for a really nice prolonged run of what I call vanilla weather. Sunny today, sunny tomorrow, temps seasonally average to just slightly above. It's just, I don't
Starting point is 00:11:25 think you can draw it up any better for, you know, the first big holiday weekend that most people consider the kickoff for summer. And I'll bet a lot of people kind of have a lot of pent-up bit of cabin fever when to get out and get out of Dodge, do all that sort of stuff. Although I must say I never camp on Memorial Day weekend. Ever. Ever. You know, there's an element of that, but when we did finally break out of winter and get into spring there in the middle part of April, I was definitely getting the sense from people,
Starting point is 00:11:54 especially by the questions they were sending me asking about specific locations. There were a lot of people who did start getting out and around. And while it doesn't seem like it lately, we did get a couple of really nice weekends in that I think that kind of did help break up some of that cabin fever that definitely had built up for people. But you know again, Memorial Day weekend, most people
Starting point is 00:12:24 consider it the start of summer. A lot of people do go camping in our family for years. Memorial Day weekend was a camping weekend. It was kind of the big family tradition that we all went to Willow Lake and spent the whole weekend camping and fishing and having a great time as a family. And a lot of people still continue to do that. spent the whole weekend camping and fishing and having a great time as a family.
Starting point is 00:12:45 A lot of people still continue to do that. So it's really nice to be able to say Memorial Day weekend is going to wind up looking awesome. What a pleasure. What a pleasure. Hey, Greg, glad to hear this. Hey, I'm just kind of curious, how is the snow in the higher elevations? And of course, I'm always looking at like Forest Road 20, you know the one that goes past Ski Ashland and loops around all the way over
Starting point is 00:13:10 to the Applegate on the other end. Is that still blocked by snow at the top? Yeah, there are still, you know, you get up above 5,000 feet in elevations and shady areas, north-facing areas and 20 definitely has quite a few of those. There's still quite a bit of snow built up across the road heading further east on 20 going up towards Mount Ashland. There is still a huge snow berm blocking 20 for access basically right there at the end of the parking area for Mount Ashland. So I think it's still going to be a bit before you can traverse all of Forest Service 20, you know, getting to where you like to go to Wrangell Camp. You know, and that situation definitely exists across all of the higher terrain down here.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I mean, for example, Crater Lake National Park is still over a foot above what we would normally see for accumulated snow on this state. So there is still an awful lot of snow up there and like I said, those shady north facing areas, there's still a lot of snow on those roads and actually looks like there will be for quite a bit. I do know that further north in the central Cascades, Deschutes National Forest and Deschutes County roads put a lot of effort into getting the recreational highways opened up this week and they were able to do it. So the road into New
Starting point is 00:14:43 Berry Crater and Palina Lake and East Lake, they got the big rotaries in there, they chewed through the drifts, they got that open, that opened this week, and this morning the Cascade Lakes Highway, which gets you out past Mount Patchler and access to all of the lakes and recreation areas there, they did finally get that also opened up and this morning is the official opening on that. So we're starting to see some of the signs of you know Forest Service Road openings. I need to check on Bear Camp but historically Bear Camp Road, Rogue River-Siskey National Forest
Starting point is 00:15:25 has also put a great deal of effort into making sure that Bear Camp Road will be open for Memorial Day weekend. I have not seen anything from them yet. I do know they got the Greyback Road open, which is a big shortcut for people to get down to Happy Camp, because it cuts off a ton of driving time when Gray Back Road is open. And I know that one is that runs between Cave Junction and Happy Camp.
Starting point is 00:15:58 And if they've got that open, pretty typically they can get Bear Camp open as well. But I haven't seen the official notification yet on Bear Camp. All right, very good. Hey Greg, great talk. And we'll have you back next Friday as we head into the Memorial Day weekend, which will probably be a lazy forecast for you from the sounds of it. I call them vanilla forecast. You know, actually, it makes my life a lot easier when I can do the vanilla forecast. Alright, and also you go out and enjoy the vanilla forecast too.

Dr. Dennis Powers, retired professor of business law at Southern Oregon University. We always love having him on normally for where past meets present. But Doc, we pulled you out of your, I don't know, your early springtime nap, I guess. I want to talk a little bit about the Supreme Court. I wanted to bend your ear about the Supreme Court arguments yesterday.
Starting point is 00:26:05 And my gosh, it was on nationwide injunctions and birthright citizenship. And I think one of the most interesting parts of this was when Justice Clarence Thomas ended up just blurting out, so we survived until the 1960s without universal injunctions. It kind of cut through it, didn't it, honestly? Yes. You know, Bill, what really stands out for Supreme Court watchers is and are the people involved, because when you look at the Court itself, it really is four to three right now itself. It really is four to three right now in terms of you have Kavanaugh, Leto, Clarence Thomas, and Neil Gorship. Then the lower three, you know, being Kagan, Sotomayor, and Katani, Jackson. And then you have Roberts, the political crossdresser.
Starting point is 00:26:58 You go either way, right? Also, that's right, you have then Roberts and Amy Comey Barrett, which are the swing votes. What comes through though is that first of all, Kagan goes ahead where she was in favor and came out yesterday as pushing for nationwide injunctions with Trump went out of her way in the Oros to go ahead and show that she was not in favor of national injunctions, Bill, when Biden was involved. And then she was trying to make a differentiate there. So basically judges now are just
Starting point is 00:27:45 plain political people. All right let me understand I think I may have misunderstood you. So Kagan is okay with nationwide injunctions now, not in favor of him on during the Biden administration when some of this came up or not? That's correct. Okay. And you see, if you look at the numbers, you have what, 64 national injunctions right now against Trump in his first, let's say, a hundred days versus 13 against Biden in his four years. But now when we look at it, I really said to myself, why in the heck are they using this on birthright citizenship, which is an issue very much like the way Roberts was tiptoeing around and trying to get the Supreme Court decision on abortions changed. Because the test was already shown to a certain extent
Starting point is 00:28:45 because the Supreme Court allowed Trump to implement the transgender military band. But that was an easy one because there you had, as Hegson said, no more dudes in dresses for the defense. And you only had, let's say, 4,000 transgender people versus 2.1 million. So that was an emergency request just quite recently that was lifted while the litigation continues. So they go on birthright citizenship, which is really a very, I kept saying that is really one of the most difficult ones and probably
Starting point is 00:29:25 was done, you know, by the, including Amy Comey Barrett. So you had four that's saying, let's get something that's more serious. You know, now I'm saying that this is what we're seeing. So then you have these two major issues involved in the Orals yesterday. And the key thing on these national injunctions is that they have been against healthcare, immigration, employee overtime, you know, federal funding for San Trey cities, vaccine mandates. And one of the reasons I think we're finding so many core challenges at this point is that President Trump has arguably been quite
Starting point is 00:30:08 activist too. I mean I don't think there's anyone's been signed in. I mean we used to you know criticize President Obama when he talked about he has his phone in his pen, right? Well President Trump's Sharpie has been quite busy for quite some time now ever since coming in. That's true. And, you know, if I had had such a close assassination experience, I would be running like crazy too. But you're right. He has gone in a lot of the maps, but it really just heightens the issue. Now the issue on these nationwide injunctions is just, it really is something that I studied for years on bar exams, it's rule 65 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, which allows
Starting point is 00:30:59 for preliminary injunctions in the power of a federal court, but there's no specific rule that dictates whether an injunction must be limited to the parties in the lawsuit or they can have a total nationwide effect. All right. Now, is this challenge then at the White House, the administration has brought then to the Supremes on the nationwide junction, is this something then that the Supreme Court will likely either, do they kick them back to the lower court on something like this in your opinion, or will it be we're going
Starting point is 00:31:30 to come up with a rule, we're going to offer guidance on what is allowed? What does your judicial crystal ball think about this? Now you see, that's what makes it complex, Bill, and why I was really wondering why they would do it on birthright citizenship because that is a much stickier issue on the birthright citizenship. So what do you do? Would it have been better in your opinion to have brought it with a to bring up the nationwide injunction challenge on a less controversial pick? Yeah, that's what I would think except by going ahead and here in the lifting of a national injunction on trans dudes and dresses, what you had was a fairly easy decision in terms of the number of people affected in terms of the military, which is international. An astounding statistic when you read about this though, Dennis. Four million births a year to illegal aliens, to non-citizens in this country every year. Yeah, that's true. And so what we're having though is that
Starting point is 00:32:47 as to the overall decision, they're still hashing out reasons. So the problem is when a decision comes down, it could be by the end of June in terms of the ending of the initial term for the Supreme Court. Now the problem then comes is that all these other ones that are sitting in place are going to be sitting there with the whole series. And I haven't seen a partial decision that's come down unless what they hope to do is to push this one off, because it is so stand out and a problem. Yeah, it's a nuclear bomb in the judiciary, the birthright citizenship, isn't that right? Yeah, then maybe hopefully what will happen is you'll have another one that comes up.
Starting point is 00:33:36 Now, when you look at birthright citizenship, that one has arguments on both sides, constitutional, 14th Amendment, subject to the jurisdiction thereof is the key thing, because the different, the 14th clause states that all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the U.S. Cases before, actually two cases, really held that the children of illegal immigrants would not be considered as citizens if they were born in the United States. But then on the other hand, you had these arguments of does it mean on that, just those
Starting point is 00:34:21 five words, if you will, my friend, does it mean if you're a citizen of another country, you cannot be subject to the jurisdiction thereof or not? Yeah, that definition of subject to the jurisdiction. Now to me, subject to the jurisdiction, I can almost see this as also that you have skin in the game, you have loyalty to, etc. And this concept, which has been fabricated over Supreme Court decisions here for many, many years is not serving the country. You'd have to agree on that, to all of a sudden say, hey, just get here, have a child, insto
Starting point is 00:35:00 presto, citizen. Maybe back in a time in which there were a few million people in the country, you know, citizen, you know, maybe back in a time in which there were a few million people in the country, you looked at that a little more openly, I guess, but those times are over. That is correct, because independent legal jurists who are independent would be going ahead and saying the intent of that 14th Amendment was seen in two cases, Supreme Court, that already came in. One was it held that Native Americans were not citizens of the United States, which needed a congressional rule, which makes sense, in 1924 that said they are. And then you had the one that had to do with
Starting point is 00:35:46 children of foreign diplomats who were in the country legally and the Supreme Court held that those children were not subject to the jurisdiction. Yeah, yeah, not subject to the jurisdiction, but somebody walks across the border and has a child at taxpayer expense in a border hospital and it's an instant citizen. It's an odd, it's an odd strange policy or way to look at this, to look at the franchise so to speak. Yeah, I totally agree and of course, the problem is, is then we look at the personalities. We know it's going to be four to three on both issues. But then the question is, is we have Amy Comey Barrett, who more than likely, and I really
Starting point is 00:36:41 think this is really too bad, with her heart would swing towards, we can't unsettle those. What do you do with those that already we're in? Well, if illegal immigrants who are born here were already looked at as being citizens prior to this decision, well, that would be it, because you can't ever... Yeah, I don't think you could ungranted, you know, after this at this point. But it would seem that certainly wisdom in moving forward is that no, no, you're you're not going to just do this anymore. And also look at what we've been suffering in some of the big cities with birth
Starting point is 00:37:17 tourism. You know, you just see the planes come in from China with lots of people that are ready to give birth and then instant citizens here. They do it. It's become a business. It's become a racket. And frankly, illegal immigration is a racket in this country here too. And you're right Bill, because then what we come into is given those arguments, and we assume it's 4-4, and Roberts is trying to make up his mind because he really is much more concerned with his standing in terms of his tenure as Chief Justice. My bet would be two types of things. One is that you would have the birthright citizenship put off and it could go to the end of the
Starting point is 00:38:06 term and it could be five to four either way depending on Roberts. Can they decide whether you can have the nationwide injunction without deciding the birthright citizenship issue or are they tied together in this case? I believe in this case that it is so tied together based on the fact that they consolidated different cases to come in here and then when we the key thing though is that what do you do with nationwide injunctions and that's where I think they're going to come up with that you cannot have national jurisdiction by one of the 680 district court judges over all of the US states unless it involves a
Starting point is 00:38:56 major constitutional First Amendment right. But if you're talking about the Trump administration wanting to impose policy after being duly elected, that's a different story, right? A policy disagreement is not something to get involved with with a nationwide injunction. That's kind of where you're alluding to then? That's true, except for one unfortunate practicality that comes in, Bill, and that is the fact that district court judges have become political, in some cases, like Boasberg, hacks because of the fact that they're looking forward to, well, Trump, if he doesn't, or someone else for the Republicans doesn't
Starting point is 00:39:39 make it in the 28 election, I can get to the Court of Appeals. And so they can go ahead and even defending on the way that the Supreme Court goes, I can see district court judges still going ahead and challenging that because it's totally lost control. It is not constitutional law. This is the law of politics. Unfortunately, it is a civil war and it's being fought right now. We're even seeing it violent in terms of Tesla's and things like that.
Starting point is 00:40:13 That's unfortunate. We all have to keep fighting and keep standing up. Let me then just kind of plumb to where you think this is going. The case against the national injunction probably has merit. There's probably good merit there to rule in the favor of the president, but not necessarily an easy path favoring his executive order against birthright citizenship. Is that the way we should probably be girding ourselves with where this will go over time? That's what I would agree and the reason is, and again, you know, my crystal ball
Starting point is 00:40:53 is as good as every other legal analyst, but on the other hand, the Supreme Court allowed the transgender military band to go through... And that had a nationwide injunction, right? That was a nationwide injunction. And that was one that just came out on, gee, about 10 days ago. And Bill, that was an emergency request from the Trump administration on a nationwide injunction that had already been allowed by the appellate court. And that was one that in asking the Supreme Court to intervene, the representative for the United States said judges are required to show substantial deference to the Defense Department's judgment on military
Starting point is 00:41:49 issues. So there were side arguments that came in, which is what we're looking in right now. The problem on Roberts is that I don't know which way he's going to go. No one knows which way he's going to go. And Amy Coming Barrett has, unfortunately, is making this closer than it should be. All right. Dr. Dennis Powers, retired professor of business law. Let me grab a call, Dennis. Maybe someone wants to ask a question. Hi. Good to have you on call. Who's this?
Starting point is 00:42:16 Yeah. Good morning. This is Terry. Hey, Terry. You have a question for the doc or a comment? Go ahead. I have a couple of questions that I've been trying to get out there. One question is, I have a couple of questions that I've been trying to get out there. One question is, is there no way for Trump to get pre-approval? So like a warrant, can he get pre-approval from a judge to do some of these executive orders? You know, that's a good question. And the way that I've seen it done is going to be at, let's say in Georgetown, because
Starting point is 00:42:48 Supreme Court judges do go to cocktail parties. And while you were there, one just happens to say, well, you know, on this particular issue we feel pretty comfortable. And of course the Supreme Court judge, or it could be be just local because that's the way it happens here. Well that's what I mean. That's what I mean. Like a federal judge right around there, can they, you know, go to him and say, hey we're going to do this and have them say okay to that and then it has to go to Supreme Court after that without getting a liberal judge involved in it.
Starting point is 00:43:22 No. Unfortunately, no. The reason is that the first thing a judge learns is don't get caught at cocktail parties or in terms of informal types of finding out because they can do things in a formal way in the arguments at the lower court, but then again, if you have the judges that were appointed by Soros-funded judges, that conclusion is there. All right. Terry, what was the other, or Tracy, what was the other one?
Starting point is 00:44:00 So, okay, so one liberal judge rules one way. What if some Texas conservative judge said, hey, no, this is legal to do? Would it be a constitutional crisis then? I mean, what would happen? I mean, I know they're not supposed to rule against each other, but what if they did? You know, Terry, in the overview, a good question is the fact that that happens many times, and that's what allows it to go up to a higher court. We're just talking about federal, because it's the same thing in state, but normally you're just going to have one state court decision going up.
Starting point is 00:44:37 But you can have it with 50 states and 680 district court judges that have that coming up. And then it can be settled. It can be won at an appellate court or whatever. So what you're seeing though is that type of thing playing out. What I'm hoping is that we'll have a decision that comes down on nationwide injunctions prior to the end of the term. But meanwhile, Trump's administration is in limbo the end of the term, but meanwhile Trump's administration is in limbo just because of the way that this has been played out.
Starting point is 00:45:09 All right, thank you for that. Let me grab another call for you, Dennis. I think people are kind of stirring their imagination here, flexing their judicial muscles. Hi, good morning, caller. Who's this? Great questions. Who's this? It's Matt, and I guess it's less of a question than a prediction. Yeah. I know the Catholic Church supports open borders. Amy Coney Barrett wears her Catholicism on her sleeve. I don't see any way that she doesn't find a legal way to say
Starting point is 00:45:42 that open borders, the birthright citizenship was never intended to exclude people who have children here. I just can't see it happening. All right, Matt, I appreciate your opinion. What do you think about that opinion? You think that holds merit here, Doc? I think that is an overriding issue because we've seen her go in different directions. That would have to be from her embracing of religion. She was brought on in terms of the abortion issue. But unfortunately, what the Republicans did is they should have looked closer.
Starting point is 00:46:22 And like Bush one did did which a horrible decision on suitor who they thought was a Republican but was really a carrying Democrat they blew it. Dr. Dennis Powers retired professor of business law normally on where past meets present now I'm gonna be off on Monday so we kind of got our judicial conversation out today all right so that worked off so I will be out on Monday but we'll catch you here in a few weeks. Alright? Thanks so much, doctor. Sounds like a winner and all good luck. Dr. Dennis Powers.
