Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Myer Show podcast is sponsored by Clouser Drilling. They've been leading the way in southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Clouser Drilling.com. Over the last few weeks, I've had the pleasure of observing what's been going on on Biddle Road, 2811 Biddle Road in Medford. And this has the formation of, well, an abandoned senior housing project. Now, when I say abandoned, I'm not talking about an abandoned housing project,
Starting point is 00:00:29 but abandoned, rather seniors that are, well, finding a new home of sorts. And joining me right now is Chad McComas. Hello, Chad, how you doing this morning? Welcome. Hey, Bill, I'm doing great. Thanks for calling. This is interesting.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Today, you're gonna be having what, a big media event and some interviews with people that are there. And by the way, your main ministry is still SetFreeServices.org, right? Isn't that your main website? Yeah, that's our main website and we do a lot of food and stuff like that. But this has been our heart for years that we've been watching more and more seniors become homeless basically due to economics. And you look at someone with a rather modest let's say Social Security check each month and many of them are modest for a lot of people and then you look at the cost of rent and real estate here in Southern Oregon the two aren't meeting are they? No, no not at all and and you know we're specifically zoning in on like widows and widowers. These are people who have no family to help them. And so they're trying to live off a thousand
Starting point is 00:01:32 dollar social security check every month. You can't do it. Yeah, real challenge here. And that's why, and you talked with me about this a few weeks ago and had to do with the joy community. And so is today the grand opening or where are you in the phases of this homelessness? We're getting very close. We still have some hurdles to jump over, Bill, and we gotta raise a little bit more money, but this has totally been private money
Starting point is 00:01:57 and a lot of it given by seniors, some widows and widowers. And so we're just going as fast as we can with the donations that come in. And we're getting really close. Good. So what are you doing today at 10, Bill? Well, it's time to get the media in, Bill, and start sharing what we're doing, because we know that we need more community support and they need to know what's happening. But there's also that dark side to that that I'm not happy about. That is, we'll start getting a flock of people who need to live there and we don't, we can only take 10 to begin with. And we've
Starting point is 00:02:27 got a waiting list of 120 growing every day. Are you serious? 120 on the waiting list for senior housing in the homelessness world? Wow. These are homeless seniors that have no place to go. And it just breaks our hearts because we can only help them as we grow fast. And that's what I'm hoping will happen once we open. Chad McComas once again with the Joy Community. Now these 120 people you already have on the waiting list here, what are their stories or can you give me a typical story and is it the story that we know about the other side of the homelessness with lots of drinking and drug addiction and mental illness? No, it's not that at all. It's not? No, it really isn't. You know, in fact,
Starting point is 00:03:11 the first 10 we're taking in, I think almost all of them are coming out of homeless shelters, a lot of the shelters that I built in the past, and they're stuck there and they can't, there's no way to get out. And so they're filling beds that were never meant to be for seniors, that were meant to be transitional and you can't transition seniors out. There's no place to go. Chad, why is it that, you know, I understand how someone who has a thousand dollar a month or less Social Security check is probably not able to go and get housing in many cases But what I'm wondering is that is there any way that
Starting point is 00:03:51 That you could have three or four seniors partner up in and share a place or does that still not even Pencil these days. Well, there is a program that Oregon has tried to start called home share I believe you know of it and they're trying to take these seniors that are in these single-family residences all over the valley and all over the state and partner up with another senior to maybe share the house and help with the costs. But it's difficult to open your home to someone you don't know, and it's not going as well as they would like it to go. It's difficult. Well, when I was talking about that, I was talking about what we would do in college, let's say, what people would do in college in which you would get three or four people together
Starting point is 00:04:33 and say, hey, let's share a home together. Right. Almost like that kind of thing. Is there any attempt at that? I know this is not part of your ministry. I'm just raising if anything like that exists. Because in some respects I think this idea that everybody no matter what the the
Starting point is 00:04:50 financial condition is going to have their individual single-family place where they're gonna go is kind of tough it doesn't it doesn't always scale as you well know which is why you're doing no no joy community but even then this is kind of a you know joy community is kind of this thing where it's sort of a collective housing, but yet you still have your own individual spaces in it, you know, that kind of thing. That's exactly right. You've got your own dignity in your own place, and you know, it's amazing what we've been able to do with the money that's been donated. We've probably spent close to $600,000 and we're going to have a community for 10
Starting point is 00:05:23 people. So that's $60,000 per space. Now is that a hard cost that if you expand will still take $60,000 or now that you get the infrastructure in are you going to be able to do it cheap more cheaply as time goes on? Yeah Bill you got it. It's exactly going to get cheaper as you go on. You know even operating is going to be more expensive to begin with for 10 than when you add 50 more and then you still have the same overhead. So it gets cheaper and cheaper as you go. But you know, like the Housing Authority in southern Oregon, they do a great job building apartments and they're doing they're trying to build as fast as they can. But there's like a 5000 shortage, you know, of affordable housing. So even if the
Starting point is 00:06:01 seniors got on the list today for affordable housing, they might have to wait up to five years to be next in line. Oh heck, they could be dead by that time. Yeah, that's the problem. And so we're not criticizing these other programs, but we're saying we need another alternative that we can do now and do quickly and get these people off the streets and give them some years of dignity instead of have to live in a homeless shelter. Ultimately, how large do you expect Joy Community to be? You're gonna be, like you said, taking in 10 here, 10 seniors pretty soon. Well, Bill, I have great big hopes
Starting point is 00:06:37 that when people say, what are you gonna do? I'll say, well, add one more. You know, and that's just kinda how it's gonna go. We'll add one more and then we'll add one more and then we'll add, hopefully we'll get, that's just kind of how it's going to go. We'll add one more, then we'll add one more, then we'll add, then hopefully we'll get to 100, 150, who knows. What do the individual homes look like right now? Are they the typical tiny home that you were famous for earlier? Well, our favorite word is cutesy. They're going to be cutesy. Yeah. You come over after your shift and I'll show you. You'll be saying,
Starting point is 00:07:07 can I get on that list? Okay. So you got little cutesy homes. How big are they? How much square footage? Just curious. They're different sizes because we were not, they're not like a cookie cutter. We picked one up here, we picked one up there. This group builds this one another group builds that one. Oh so you don't have one size fits all so you're going and kind of is it gosh I didn't know there was a little community where you have variety and that's what we want. All right and so you're getting ready to open when when do the 10 seniors start? Is it today that that happens? We're going to open as soon as we get the final approval from the city, which is occupancy,
Starting point is 00:07:50 and we have to wait until the electrical center. We're in the process of doing that now. So it's all about money, it's all about time, but it's coming. All right. When it comes to the money, I know people have been contributing. This has been private money that's been doing this. How can they do so? How can they help out if they feel it within their heart to help other seniors well they can go to joy community Oregon three words together joy community Oregon org and donate there that's an easy way to do it all right well I'm gonna try to stop by I'll stop I read
Starting point is 00:08:20 a little bit later this morning I'll give give you a tour, a 25 cent tour, okay Bill? Okay, well maybe a 50 cent tour. Can I have more of a 50 cent tour? All right. Chad, it's good talking with you. It's a positive development. It's a start. Some may call it a small start, but it's better than nothing, right? And I think the more, this has been an really undiscussed aspect of the homelessness crisis in which just economically many seniors end up being priced out. And I would imagine many of the people that you're talking about of these ten, no family there to help them. No, that's it. That's the whole point. That's who we're trying to target. If a person has a family, we expect their family to help them, right?
Starting point is 00:09:00 You would hope so. If they have no family, a widower, a widower, and then no kids, they're in trouble. You know, I had a pastor from Wairicka come up Monday to see what we're doing, and he says, I need one of these there. And I expect that what will happen once we open is that communities will be lining up saying, how do we start one too? Very good. Once again, the Joy Community website here. What's the website is? Yeah. Joy community, Oregon dot org. Joy community, joycommunityoregon.org. All right, I'll do my best to drop by and take a look in. All the best to you.

Starting point is 00:13:34 Give Bill a call at five four one seven seven oh five six three three. That's seven seven oh KMED. It's always fun. We roll into open phones on conspiracy theory Thursday before I get to the calls here. The latest one from Oregon Capital Chronicle, progressive Democrats unveiled plan for transportation funding driven by doubling the gas tax. Oh, I am shocked. Republicans and Democrats in recent weeks have shared competing proposals.
Starting point is 00:14:04 I don't know why Republicans bother sharing their proposals because they'll never get listened to, including Wednesdays from state senators, ConFOM from Portland, maybe I should call it Auckland. There we go. And oh, Senator Jeff Gold, and he's involved in this one too here, but the lawmakers and what they're talking about right now is a 50% increase in your vehicle registration, 2% sales tax on new cars, 1% sales tax on used cars, costing over 10 grand, but also increased state payroll taxes on employees and employers by half of a percentage point. And this, of course, would all go to the transportation,
Starting point is 00:14:46 the road value transportation kind of rackets, with about one tenth of one percent added each biennium. This means an Oregonian earning $4,000 per month in 2032 would pay an extra $20 a month in state payroll tax to pay for buses that he or she will not ride, generally speaking. And, all right, yeah, they want to 80 cent gas tax, all the rest of it. Ultimately, here, once again, I would just say, once again, if this comes up for a vote, these competing proposals, Republicans, why are you there?
Starting point is 00:15:19 Why are you there to be humiliated? I know, I know, I know. Send more Republicans. All right, you have one tool. Anyway, that's what the plan is. Let me go to Populous Mike. Hello, Mike, how are you this morning? Good to have you on.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Hi, Bill. I'm fine. I just had some comments about Professor Lieberman, wasn't it? Oh, Dr. Carol Lieberman an hour ago. Yeah, we were talking about some of the terrorism issues going on and a bit of ditty Which made me want to take a shower afterwards hear about everything going on there. What what you thinking? Well, I agree with you and Thomas Massey that every time You want to say?
Starting point is 00:15:58 You want to refer to Zionists? They always say it's anti-semitic, and the two terms are not the same. A lot of Jews are not Zionists, and a lot of Zionists aren't Jews. And that's always switched. It doesn't matter where you watch it in the press. It's seldom mentioned. You mentioned it. And I'd like to say something else as far as history.
Starting point is 00:16:23 This is another trick they always use concerning World War II. The Allies are always the British, the Americans, the French, and the Russians against the Nazis. So every German in a foxhole is a Nazi. What they might say is the British Empire, the French Empire, the American Empire, and the Soviet Bolsheviks versus the Nazis, if they want to keep it on the same track. Well, as you well know, Mike, history is written by the victors, including the myths are written by the victors, right? Yeah, they keep the myths going. Yeah, wasn't it, I do recall, wasn't it, was it Patton at one point, and I try to pay attention to a lot of what Patton did because
Starting point is 00:17:12 my grandfather served under him, was it Patton who said that, you know, we were helping out the wrong people in that war? Something worse than that effect? At the war, he was made military governor of Bavaria in southern Germany. And he was told to move German civilians out of their domestic housing and move in the Jews that had been in the concentration camps into the houses. And he did this, but when the Germans moved out, they were completely clean. And after the guests had moved in for a while, they were in terrible shape. And when he called his attention to his superiors, they didn't like it.
Starting point is 00:17:55 And he said that we had fought on the long side in the Second World War, and that the Germans were the only decent people left. That's what he said. Well, that's kind of scary, because there was a lot of atrocity there on the German side there too, though, Mike. Oh, it's terrible. While Bill Donovan, his superior, I think the head of the OSS, or he was in the OSS, had Patton assassinated, and they tried to kill him in his staff car, but they couldn't get it done, so they got him in the hospital, and he died, quote unquote, in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Now, there's a lot of revisionist history questioning that death for sure. Mike, I appreciate your call. See, that's a Conspiracy Theory Thursday call, Mike. All right? There you go. Okay. All right. Appreciate the call.
Starting point is 00:18:39 770-5633. Let me go to next line. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Hello? Do you know who it is. No, I don't know who it is. It's Gene. Oh, grumpy Gene. Go ahead. Well, not so grumpy Gene. We'll see if you're grumpy or not. I'll make that judgment later. What's on your mind, Gene?
Starting point is 00:18:55 I'm grumpy. A couple points. One, all the things that the Democrats are doing to the people. Hopefully, the ones who voted them in are going to see how much dictators they are and vote them out. You think that'll happen in Oregon with your experience in which the people that come up with the craziest ideas seem to be re-elected time and time again. Does that really work in Oregon? Maybe we just have a collective insanity going on here. Maybe we should have lawyers and everybody else watching the voting polls. What was the second point you wanted to make, Jean? What was the second point?
Starting point is 00:19:41 Would you call Hitler Putin or Putin Hitler? Because that's what he acts like on his invasion. On Putin? Yeah. Yeah, I agree with Trump. That was kind of a crazy move to make. I also think the drone attack was also a crazy event in response only because I get my conspiracy theory is that Trump is being boxed in right now by people that don't even inform him on what's going on with
Starting point is 00:20:15 intelligence and things coming out of Ukraine. Just my opinion. But all right, so not so grumpy, Gene. Thank you for the call. Okay. Let me Grab line three. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Good morning. Hi, I'm Lucretia. Hi, Lucretia. I need a warning. I don't have your music ready. Gotta have your music. So go ahead. Give it to us straight. Remember, one topic and don't rattle off 40 doctors. Don't rattle off 40 doctors, please, okay? Okay, okay, but Gene got to mention two things, and I just wanted to let him know that I met a woman last night at Wellsprings.
Starting point is 00:20:54 She read that in Wren County, I think it was Mendocino or something, yeah, she read that they used the barbed wire up to 26 miles to call, to talk to people 26 miles away, just through the barbed wire on the fence post all the way from one end of the valley to the other. Oh, that's pretty cool. Was that done by insulating the barbed wire, so to speak, that you could use it as a direct connection? That kind of thing? I don't know. I don't think it's related. I think
Starting point is 00:21:25 they just used it right on the fence post. What I'm saying though is that it wasn't grounded. It may have been on a fence post but not connected to the ground, so to speak. That's what I was getting at. Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, I wanted to say our clouds have been stolen for about four days now. And last night it was this massive spraying. I don't know what they were spraying, but a ton of people are saying they really have allergies or eye problems. I can smell the metals, the weird chemical smell. It's so interesting you bring this up because I've had a lot of allergy problems, but you see I just looked at it as like spring going into summer. Am I being silly? No, not that. You don't get this chemical white sky.
Starting point is 00:22:05 They're hitting us. So they're spraying cloud disbursement, is what you're saying. They're spraying like cloud go away type thing and make us hot? Something's in the air that's turning the sky. This weird chemical haze white. And you could see I'm working all night. It was this well-frozen. You just look up and it was this massive control.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Yeah, I guess you have weird aircraft traffic over your area by Wellsprings. You really do. I hope there is. There was this other thing. It wasn't a helicopter. It didn't make any noise. But when it was coming home, it was just flying really slowly over Ashland. Now, was it black though? I couldn't tell. I can just see the lights on it. All right.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Lucretia, you know I always appreciate your call. Thanks for making it to 7705633. So we have cloud disbursements, cloud go away chemicals now. First it was Bill Gates once clouds forming to reflect the heat back and now here it's cloud goes away. But anyway, let me go to the next line. Hi, good morning. Conspiracy Theory Thursday. Who's this? This is Kristen Meckert. Hello, Chris. What's on your mind? Well, it's kind of a no-dub, but it really seems like conspiracy. I work with a variety of personalities, but I'm getting feedback from all of them that, oh, well, Trump says the gas prices are going down, but they're not going down here.
Starting point is 00:23:31 And I have to explain, well, that has to do with the taxes on gas in Medford. There's still places where you can buy a $4 pack of cigarettes, not in Oregon. Yeah. Well, it's what, $3.89 here. When you hear those statements, like it's like, over in Oklahoma, from what I understand, or one of the middle of the country flyover states, it's like, sometimes you get like $2.45 a gallon right now. Right. So we pay more.
Starting point is 00:23:58 We also have special formulation gas that a lot of those places in the middle of the country don't have. Right, and I had to explain that too. I told you before, I watched the news, so nobody else has to. But no, I feel like this whole thing we've got going up in the Capitol in Oregon is we're breeding sheep because they know that they're going to latch on to this. Oh well, all these people are saying bad things about Trump and so it must be Trump's fault that our gas prices aren't going down. It must be Trump's fault that our energy prices are going up. As these Democrats are openly talking about doubling the gas tax and increasing your payroll
Starting point is 00:24:46 taxes and increasing your fees and your license fees, all the rest of it. Yeah, I guess it's... Well, they need Trump, don't they? They really do. They do. They do, because they're using him as a shield to get away with all this stuff. And then the media is making noise about, oh, you know, this is, look how bad it is. And things aren't improving. Things are only going to improve here when we elect more people. I swear to goodness, if they don't deny quorum on some of this stuff, if it gets to that point, I will primary them myself. I will find somebody to back me and I know nothing about running the government and I could do a better job than that.
Starting point is 00:25:32 The issue that I have here is that I know that denial of quorum is a nuclear option. It's very difficult. It's very difficult to hold together. And when Herman did it, he was able to whip him in his shape here. I just don't know at what level, how bad does it have to get out of the Salem majority of the Democrats before there is some real fight? And real fight is not providing quorum so that they can be there to vote no on the Democrat plan. That's all. That's the way I'm looking at it. Chris, I feel your pain. I really do. Okay. 770-563-3770KMED. We will continue with some Conspiracy Theory Thursday calls and we'll get to you all. Okay. We're also going to have a Diner 62 Quiz a
Starting point is 00:26:18 little bit later and we're going to have some fun here and wrap it all up. We've got about 20 minutes. Let's make these calls good. Starting point is 00:29:47 You think so? Because Ukrainians want the US combat troops to join their fighting for them. And I know that I don't claim to be any expert in foreign policy, especially military operations. I don't claim that, but it just feels like that way. Now maybe we're completely wrong, I know, but there are other people that are thinking that this is about removing his ability to say no to doing that. What do you think? Yeah, this is just my opinion, because that will definitely lead to World War III. Yeah, it wouldn't be helpful. It would not be helpful.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Thank you for the call, Ray. Good hearing from you. 7705633. Conspiracy Theory Thursday, Brad is here this morning. Hello, Brad. Bill, good morning to you. Happy conspiracy. Indeed.
Starting point is 00:30:38 You got a good one? So you know the answer to this question. What significant political aspect do, for Pete's sakes, Minnesota and Oregon have in common? And the answer is? Somalia! Somalia, what the heck? So how does somebody get born and raised in Somalia the way Ilhan Omer did and go to Minnesota, formerly the state full of people that talk like Minnesota and how you doing, right?
Starting point is 00:31:12 But a lot of people don't know, you know this, a lot of people are absolutely astounded to find out that our Senate majority leader was born and raised in Somalia. His name is Casey Jama, and somehow he made it from Somalia to Merrill-Hurst University, got recruited into an activist organization in Portland called Unite Oregon, and lo and behold, he is now an Oregon state senator, and he is in fact the Senate majority leader, taking the seat of the law. You know. Peter Courtney served in that seat for years and years and years. But if you want to talk about something that's interesting, let's talk about the idea that right now we're seeing probably, in my opinion, one of the most robust discussions that we've had
Starting point is 00:32:00 in decades about what representative government looks like, right? Because representative government is, is I want to vote for somebody who's probably going to look at things about the same way I do. You know, we're at work, we're raising our families, we're doing all of our stuff, you know, you work, I know, 16 hours a day or some ridiculous thing. It seems that way. So when it comes to governance, you want to vote for somebody who's going to have kind of the same perspective that you do, kind of looks at things the same way you So when it comes to governance, you want to vote for somebody who's going to have kind
Starting point is 00:32:25 of the same perspective that you do, kind of looks at things the same way you do, and is probably going to make the same decisions that you'd make if you were there looking at the same information he has. Somehow, I doubt though that Somalians have that same worldview. All you have to do is look at the Ilan Omar. And I would also add that I was reading on revolver.news the other day, they had a picture from the Mall of America, Mall of America in Minnesota, Ali, not what you were talking about, and it looked like we were in an Islamic
Starting point is 00:32:54 Republic. Yes. Did you see that? Yes. And Bill, you also saw that article where 80% of the college's graduating class were Somalians. So how did all these people from Somalia wind up in Minneapolis, Minnesota? And the answer is, they were all brought here. They were brought here. So if you want to talk about a conspiracy, how are these populations of people literally being imported and literally, politically and culturally changing the cultures that were already there? I would dare say this is about the... Now I know that's a conspiracy theory to say the Great Replacement because, you know, those
Starting point is 00:33:35 Minnesotans vote... They might vote the wrong way, you know, those sort of things. And Northern Oregonians too. Very good point. And thanks for making this this and I know you're not supposed to mention that Voldemort out there. The Voldemort out there, the great replacement theory when you have non-pliable voters or voters who are less than pliable you have to bring in the right population. Interesting. Let me go to Angie. Angie, how you doing this morning, Angie?
Starting point is 00:34:04 Conspiracy Theory Thursday. What's on your mind. I'm doing okay. Anyway, I just wanted to... I went down to Valley... you know, Care, whatever it is for... Valley Immediate Care. Valley Immediate Care, yeah. Yeah, good. Good. What happened? And I have pretty good insurance. but anyway, she says that will be $122. And I said, well, I'm not paying you $122 because my insurance should cover it. I thought it would be $122. And I said, stop it, I'm going somewhere else. So I went to Providence and it was for free.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Anyway, yesterday, I went to buy a mattress on Costco website and it was $379 and no taxes and no delivery charge, right? And then they put on $22.50 for forever. Wasn't there like a mattress disposal fee that the state of Oregon requires now? I'm buying a new mattress. I'm not disposing of it. I'm buying one. Well, that doesn't matter because the state will always, you know, find a way to, you know, I guess it's for the mattresses that get dumped out into the into the forest roads. I don't know. Anyway, I called Costco and I said, what is this 22.50? And they said, well, it's disposal fee.
Starting point is 00:35:25 And I said, well, I buy a disposal fee when I'm buying it new and when I'm getting rid of it. So she says, let me ask my colleague. So she went and asked and she says, no, it's not a disposal fee if we don't know. It's a tax. So I said, well, I said, no taxes and no delivery charge, but you're giving me $22. So she says, anyway, she says, I said it's on your website $379. Why are you charging me $22.50?
Starting point is 00:36:01 So she couldn't figure it out. So it's just charges. People like to charge. And most people don't even question. Well, I do believe that there is a, like I said, I think there is an actual tax here. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. Tax here for what?
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yeah, the fees will fund Oregon's new mattress recycling program, which could launch as soon as summer. This is from a story from a year ago, June 1st, 2025. So I think that's what you're talking about. This is a fee which is...in fact, I bought a mattress not too long ago and had to pay that fee. I think that's what that's all about, Angie. It's an official... Right. Well, I'm just saying that people charge, like, I mean, the, you know, whatever crowd they are, but anyway, they were charging me $122. And they sent me a text to ask me, was I satisfied with
Starting point is 00:36:55 their service? And I said, no. Well, they must not have taken, they must not be willing to take your insurance then. I said, I won't, no, no, they were they were. I said no I'm not interested in never going to you again because you charged me $122. She called me and she said she looked up my insurance and it should have been free. Ah so it was a mistake. Well you know that was great though that they that they called up though wasn't it? Well only because I questioned it. Yeah. The other people didn't question it, just gave them the money. That very well could be. Thank you for sharing. Well, you make a good point though for always questioning the fees. That's for sure Angie. I always appreciate your
Starting point is 00:37:38 call. Matt's here too. Hello, Matt. You wanted to weigh in. Good to have you on. Matt, you wanted the weigh-in. Good to have you on. I mean, good for her, right? That's not why I called, but when I've been here 32 years, I thought that the way you got rid of a mattress is you lit it on fire in your backyard, and then you take the box spring, like the springs, the metal part, and drop it off for free at the metal recycling place. But you see, that is not an environmentally friendly one. Of course, I don't know, a lot of these mattresses don't have the steel springs inside them anymore. It's all memory foam and certain cooling layers. You ever see the ads, you know, how they work? Oh, I mean, it was a running joke when I moved here, Bill, that when someone has a burn pile and it smells really bad, and I smell Bob's burning up the mattress. Yep, exactly. Exactly. What else are you calling about? Just curious. Yeah, okay. So, do you remember a movie called Olympus Has Fallen?
Starting point is 00:38:40 Yes. Good movie. Okay. Do you remember like the beginning of the movie when Morgan Freeman's on his boat and he's out there fishing and these drones show up out of nowhere? Yeah, I do. I do. And then of course we saw this attack in Russia at one of their Air Force bases. And you know this is something I I mean I knew what drones were but until I saw that movie I didn't really understand how effective they could be in something like this. I'm gonna jump and it's on the same topic but to make it an afraid that TV show they show clips like at night of a leopard you know sneaking through the forest or some big boa constrictor hanging from a tree but the thing that takes people out in
Starting point is 00:39:24 that show are the bugs the things that But the thing that takes people out in that show are the bugs, the things that bite, the things that lay eggs under your skin, the things that get into your digestive system make you so sick that you have to tap out. Are you then implying that essentially the drone warfare, as you talk about, is that the bugs, really? That's what it is. Honestly, Bill, there are some technologies out there. There are companies out there that are in the drone business. They're manufacturing drones. They're looking for the technology to be able to release, let's say you had a sporting event of any kind, could be anything from a tractor pole to a football game, to NASCAR.
Starting point is 00:40:04 You could come in with five or six drones and do unbelievable damage and they could sneak in completely undetected. But this is, you know, I understand with Iran and the nuclear weapon, I said this on air before, we've never stopped a country from getting nuclear weapons that wanted to get them. You can't. It's a technology. You're't. It's a technology. You're not going to stop the technology.
Starting point is 00:40:27 As long as Trump goes for no enrichment, I think it's a fool's errand, frankly, just saying. It is. I mean, we've never stopped them. India got them. Pakistan got them. China got them. Russia got them.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Everybody who wanted a nuke eventually gets one. But this thing with the drone, I don't know how that would tie in with something nuclear if they're not big enough. I mean, you could make an awfully large drone, but this really is the way wars are gonna be fought in the future. So I'm wondering now, I've seen several videos of people getting arrested
Starting point is 00:40:59 for shooting a drone that somebody was flying over somebody's backyard. And there was one case where there's an older man in Florida, he shot this thing with a pistol, which was pretty impressive. This guy must've been in his late seventies, but they came and arrested him. And I'm just wondering if this drone technology,
Starting point is 00:41:18 if it does become prevalent for assault, somebody's gonna have to change the rules on this. Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, you should be... To me, that's self-defense. That's how I see it. But this is... What they did to that Air Force base in Russia, I mean, I saw a crazy video of this drone chasing these Russian fighters.
Starting point is 00:41:40 There was a reporter embedded, and there was this drone following this truck with these three guys in there. One got a shotgun, the other guys had some kind of ARs or AKs and they're firing at this drone. It keeps getting closer and then it would buzz off and then it would get closer again and finally the guy with the shotgun hit it and knocked it out of the air. But this drone was going to take this truck down and the people in it. And I think people need to wake the hell up.
Starting point is 00:42:04 I mean people call in your show about a lot of different stuff, but this thing with the drone, this is serious business. Yeah, I'm more concerned about that than I am of the chemtrails at the moment. Okay? Yeah, me too. It's kind of the way I look at it. Matt, thanks for bringing it up here. 770-5633, we're running out of time on Conspiracy Theory Thursday.
Starting point is 00:42:23 I will take two more calls and then Diner 62 Real American Quiz. We're going to wrap on the happy note. Hi, caller. Good morning. Who's this? Yeah, real quick so I don't bore anybody. This is Dave. Yes, Dave.
Starting point is 00:42:37 I enjoyed your talk with Carol Lieberman, especially the part where you were telling her that if you if someone corrects tries to correct Israel that you're anti-semitic It seems well that does appear to be the narrative That's wishing to be enforced in the United States right now And I find that troubling a troubling trend even though I'm not a fan of the college kids out yelling about Hamas Etc. Blah blah blah blah blah you To me, free speech is free speech. I'm kind of an absolutist on that. Well, the last thing I want to say is, the question should not be who's anti-Semitic, but the question should be who's anti-Christ.
Starting point is 00:43:17 All right. Appreciate your call. Thanks for that, Dave. 7705633. By the way, if you wanted to call in for the Real American Quiz, Diner 62, jump on that now, okay? Hi, good morning. Who's this? You get the final Conspiracy Theory Thursday take. Morning. Hey Bill, Deplorable Patrick, good morning. I'll be quick. No, don't worry about it. Just give me your good thought. I want to hear it. I want to know. Normally in a presidential campaign, they say you as an individual can only contribute so much. I never had to worry about it. But now I'm in a presidential campaign, they say you as an individual can only contribute so much. I never had to worry about it. But now I'm in a little better shape. And now
Starting point is 00:43:50 Trump is hitting me every day with, hey, take this survey. And while you're at it, give me 20 bucks or 50 bucks. And so I'm sure here you go. And now I'm starting to worry about hitting some limit. But is this different because it's not a presidential campaign it's just a war? It could be going to a pack of some sort that is associated with the president I don't know I don't know but I just tend to ignore it all at this point in time. Is there a limit I should worry about other than getting hung or something? I think there's a limit to how foolish you wish to be to support WinRed. Because it's the WinRed grift in which you give them a dollar and the candidate gets 10 cents or something like that. Who knows? By the time they're all the expenses are paid. I got to roll my frame, but thank you. KMED, KMED, HD1, Eagle Point, Medford, KPXG, Grants Pass, and we're going to do a quick
