Jean, how are you doing, Jean?
You had a question this morning.
Go ahead. Yeah. Is there any chance that it would do any good
to publicize how the Republicans and Democrats vote for something because there is Democrats
with brains that they may be going to get something they want? Well, I mean, it's certainly public record when you say publicize. Publicize by whom and what?
Perhaps somebody who could actually say what's going on.
Okay, all right.
It would be easier to say who was against than everybody else was born. Yeah. Well, you have to understand though, as long as for the worst of stuff, while Republicans
are present in the state legislature, even if they vote no, it's essentially an enabling
Democrat to vote yes on something, right?
That kind of thing?
But at the same point in time, if they are voting against what the public wants, they
don't have to be elected again, do they?
Yeah, well I suppose, but... Well, you know, this is one of the challenges you face if the whole idea
is that you send more Republicans there in order to get proper representation, and then they're there
and they're in the minority, but enough that you could deny quorum and and gum it up, but they won't use it.
What's the point of sending more Republicans there?
Right?
Well, you could send a bunch of Republicans as long as they've got fines enough to stick up further because people may put them in.
All right.
Um, let me think about that one. I don't know if I'm quite following you, Gene.
That's all right. I don't get to follow everybody.
Thank you.
Okay. Coming up, Diner 62, Real American Quiz.

first. Hello Kathy, how you doing? I'm doing great. Thanks.
Kathy, it was today in history, June 17th, 1900, 125 years ago today, we have
President Hoover, who was caught in civil unrest in a foreign country. For
nearly a month, starting in July, June 17th, 1900, future President Herbert
Hoover and his wife, Lou, are caught in the middle of a siege in their community.
Hoover had started a new job as a mining consultant to the leadership of the country,
with a consulting group known as Bewick, Mooring, and Company.
Now, 28 years later, Hoover ran for president and won.
Unfortunately, the couple's charitable reputation soon tarnished by Hoover's ineffective leadership,
staving off the Great Depression, and lose Ostentation's White House social functions,
which appeared heartless, frivolous, and irresponsible at a time they would call that bad optics today.
Kathy, all right?
But anyway, as the Depression deepened, a growing number of
shanty towns full of destitute unemployed workers, kind of like Portland,
sprang up in the city centers. They became known as Hoovervilles. Now the
question though, what country did the Hoovers become stranded to the point
they need to be rescued? Because there's like an insurrection. Was it A? Columbia?
Was it B? Bulgaria? Was it C? Nicaragua. Was it D? China.
Or was it E? South Africa. One of those five. What do you say, Kathy with a K?
I'm guessing it'd be B.
B, Bulgaria, as good as any. Not this time, Kathy. Let me go to Teresa.
Hello, Teresa. How you doing?
Teresa? I lost Teresa. Teresa? I lost Teresa.
No, I lost Teresa. Okay, well, let me go to Lauren.
Hello, Lauren. How you doing this morning?
I am doing wonderful.
Okay. Hoover. Was he stuck and trapped behind enemy lines in Colombia, Nicaragua, China, or South Africa? It's one of those four.
China.
Yes!
You're right! Hungry Lauren, you made it.
After marrying in Monterey, Herbert and Lou Hoover left on a honeymoon cruise to
China, and Hoover was to start a new job as a mining consultant to the Chinese
Emperor. The couple married less than a year and then the Nationalists rebelled
against colonial control of their nation, besieging 800 Westerners in the city of Tianjin.
Hoover led an enclave of Westerners in building barricades. They built barricades around their
homes in the city, and Liu volunteered in the hospital. And during the month-long siege,
their home and garden suffered direct hits from mortars.
Mrs. Hoover called it the most exciting time of her life.
Always looking at the positive, I guess, here, Loren.
Let me mention, let me mention, they used to live in Palo Alto, California, and I lived
in Redwood City, California.
No kidding.
We studied a lot about them in school.
And they thought it was much more exciting than to be in China at that point.
Most exciting time of our life. Yeah, look the bombs are
blowing up the neighborhood and things. Oh boy this is fun. All right. I'm gonna
send you to diner 62. Hang on, okay? Sure enough, I wait. All right. Another 60 days
he could try to play again and we'll do another one of these maybe Thursday.

Fontana Roofing keeps rolling out new products, constantly challenging their in-house creative
marketing team.
You know, we really need to let people know we have gutters covered.
Wait, we're already airing a commercial that covers our on-site custom gutter division?
No, I mean we literally can have them covered with gutter covers.
Oh, you're right. We need to tell people that they don't have to call those 1-800 numbers for gutter protection from leaves and debris.
They could just call Fontana Roofing to get a quote on gutter covers from a trusted local contractor.
Yeah, since we've done the research and now install an industry-leading brand, we need a commercial that's informative but clever and quirky.
Let's mull this over.
Indeed. In the meantime, I say we hit that food truck.
Brilliant. I can't get the creative juices flowing on an empty stomach, let alone roof houses.

Anything on your mind here?
Let me go to David.
David, you want to talk about the Minnesota assassination over the weekend.
What are you thinking?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it all has to do with...
You know when...
You've heard of the corporate state, right?
Oh, sure.
Yeah.
The corporate state is when the corporations run our country and the people don't matter.
You know, the corporations choose the
representatives, the corporations choose the senators, right? So the assassination
in Minnesota, apparently he was trying to change the numbers in the legislature
so that the Democrats no longer held the House and Senate, but by killing them,
the Republicans would all of a sudden own it.
We don't know what...
You know, the thing is, I haven't commented much on this at this point, David,
because I really don't know what was going on there. People have claimed
manifestos, other people say, no, we're not going to put this out.
I don't know what to think about this particular situation.
One person saying, oh, he was a Trumper roommate. Another one says, no, no, he ended up changing to non-affiliated a long time ago.
I don't really know at this point. I don't think any of us know, but what is your overall...
He's still alive. Mm-hmm your overall... He's still alive.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
He's still alive.
Yes, he is.
And, but point is, is that who would benefit? Like in the old murder mysteries, right? They
say, Kei Bono, who benefits?
Right. benefits. And so, Donald Trump, it's been 10 years now since Donald Trump
decided to run for president. And I've been telling you for that long that the
guy has organized crime. And he's not just working for corporations, he's
working for organized crime that have big pieces of corporations. And what is
the connection then to what happened in Minnesota? Because it sounds like what you're
intimating here. And what's your evidence? Donald Trump is carving up the
world. He's giving out territories. Okay, I'm the mob boss, but you can have this
territory, you can have that territory. And it's not just in America anymore,
it's around the world. And if you can all of a sudden say that through a couple of assassinations,
all of a sudden the will of the people of Minnesota get decided by a corporation.
Are you trying to imply that there's not going to be an election ever in those states, or what? Well, when I was describing corporate state,
it's a round table where all the monopolies get to sit at the round
table and decide how the government is going to be run. And the people still
get an election. They get to elect a president. But the president has to be wise and clever a
hundred percent of the time, otherwise those old boys will run over him like a
steamroller. Well, you know, early on when the
tech bros were out there standing in front and they're talking about carving up the
artificial intelligence world, I had a twinge of, hmm, I don't know if I necessarily want
my future government and a society run by the
bro. So you may have a point. You may have a point. I still don't know what's
happened in Minnesota. None of us do. But thank you for the call though David. Okay
let me go to Kathy. Kathy, you actually have three cases of fluorescent bulbs.
Yeah, am I going to end up in jail? No, you're not gonna end up
in jail for having it. I'm just kidding. The, yeah, when they, when they first went around trying to
replace all the lighting with the LEDs through the state-run system. Yeah, the Energy Trust of Oregon. Yeah, I resisted for years because
I don't like having other taxpayers pay for my stuff. I mean, I just... but finally
they broke me down. But before they did, I heard that they were eliminating
fluorescent bulbs and because I was still being a contrarian, I bought the
three cases that Grover had left.
And then I gave in, and so now we have all LEDs at the store.
And so I have them.
I've been afraid to put them on Craig's Laris list or anything.
Well, how many or how long are they?
Four feet.
Okay.
So the standard four foot, does it have the button on the end or the two little
terminals? I believe it's the two little terminals. I'd have to look. Yeah, like the F40s or whatever
it is. I'm a woman. So how much do you want for your contraband? That's what I'm asking. My boss,
I'm sure, is going to know. I'll call you late because I've got to look in my QuickBooks.
Okay.
But tell Herman, too, because I would love to not have them.
Okay.
Thanks for the...
So, Kathy wants to get rid of her contraband.
All right.
Let me go to Steve.
Hello, Steve.
How are you doing?
Welcome back.
Good morning.
Well, I survived.
Good.
Unfortunately, my wife did not, but that's the way it goes.
Oh, did she pass?
She finally did.
I'm so sorry. I know that you've been talking and have been in a real state for a long time
trying to take care of her. Did she pass at home or in the hospital, if you don't mind
me asking?
Well, that whole thing is another issue, but the hospitals don't
want people there who are terminal, so they pass you off to a managed care
facility and they don't want you there, so eventually you end up with hospice.
And hospice is the only thing that works well. But anyway, just accept my condolences. I know that you're both
very close and it's everyone's struggling with something. You're struggling with this right now.
When did she pass? You know, yesterday morning. Oh, I'm sorry, Steve. I really am. You're married how many years? 55. 55?
Man, that is...
I wish I had words of comfort for you.
Look, it was a privilege.
We were good together and we worked together for a long time.
Okay, let's move on to options, okay?
Another story. Why don't we do the options another day, okay? Okay. All right.
Okay. Let's do that. I know that, you know, men... we men are not real good on the
on the feeling thing for the most part, okay? But... Well, you get your fill of it eventually, so you can hold it off as long as you want to.
And when you deal with the loss of someone you've been with for 55 years, you just can't help it.
Steve, heart bleeds for you here, alright right? I'm going to put you in my
prayers and I pray that you be lifted up and that you're able to... I mean, it takes time.
It's a difficult thing. It's like being wounded. It takes time to heal.
All the best to you. Thanks for the call.
Thank you, sir. We'll talk the options that he was calling back on another time.
Hi, good morning. This is Bill. Who's this? This is James Insama. Hello, James. What's
on your mind today? I got a pebble in my shoe for 25 or 30 years and it's Jeff Goldman. He was on NPR that long ago.
Yeah, he was the 8 o'clock host, from what I recall, back in the day.
Right.
And back then, he was saying that homosexuals in the Boy Scout as leaders, that that was
a good idea and that I told him I said no they're gonna
molest the Boy Scouts and we can't do that and he says no no they don't have
no interest in in the boys. Okay, all right, yeah, you know in spite of what has
happened with various institutions whether it's the Boy Scouts which have been destroyed now and
The Roman Catholic Church for having you know, we covered up this stuff. Okay, no interest. Okay, sure
But then he had a guy on from the United Nations that was saying we need to teach sex to
Kindergarteners and I called up I said no I said
kindergartners. And I called up and I said, no. I said, the kindergartners don't need to know about sex. They're little kids. Leave them alone. And they said, no, no, they need to know all about
sex and we need to teach them everything.
We need to get rid of that evil man. He's destroyed...
He's trying to destroy everything in family. Well, you'll be happy to know, at least on the NPR side of things, that Congress has
voted to defund NPR in PBS.
Whether it'll make it through the rest of the Congressional cloaca, I don't know.
Appreciate the call.
Let me grab one more call in our open phone segment.
Hi, good morning.
Who's this?
Welcome.
This is Mother Day. Yes, Dave. Steve,
she has prayers for him. I know it's a little bit of a lose for who you are. Okay, I'm having really
trouble getting your cell in, so make it quick, okay? All right, so states can't file bankruptcy,
but state agencies can. And currently, there's a state agency with healthcare that's filing
bankruptcy. And cities and counties can file bankruptcy. Yes, they can.
But the state cannot, as far as I can find. Yeah, because they have to pay for
the PERS obligation, one way or the other. Right. One way or the other, they're
going to give it to us good and hard. It's a state agency. It can be stripped out.
Yeah. Well, you know what will end up happening though is that,
Minor Dave, I know you're in California, but at some point you will then be
impressed into service to service a CalPERS employee if they end up going bankrupt.
And the same with PERS in Oregon, Oregon PERS. We'll all have to sit around and
we'll have to take turns mowing Mike Bellotti's lawn. Well, you understand a bankruptcy court takes over the management.
They're not allowed to raise taxes when an agency is bankrupt and PERS is an agency. Well,
are you sure? You think you can? I don't know. I don't know. They're claiming that they're claiming
they have contracts, Dave. Contracts.
Well, yeah, but the federal courts, the one that oversees it, they put a trustee in it.
And when a state agency goes bankrupt, which it's been proven because California agencies have gone
bankrupt, cities have gone bankrupt, and their retirements get stripped out, they get 10 cents
on the dollar. Well, boy, if the promises fail even more. You know, you would think that the Oregon
PERS employees would be really concerned about the businesses fleeing the state because how do
those pensions get paid? It's underfunded. Hi, good morning. You get the final take.
Oh, good morning. Well, thank you. I was wondering, I heard something on one of the stations yesterday
by EPA getting a verbal order not to follow up on any of the regulatory conditions with
the petroleum industry. That doesn't make too much sense. And we need a certain amount
of regulation to keep things in line. We don't want to prohibit the production, that's for
sure.
Yeah, I haven't heard this one. I'm going gonna take a look into it. I have a feeling that we're not getting that whole story in there
I'll get back to you. Okay. Thank you. All right. Thank you for the call. It is 837

The threat of wildfire poses a growing risk to Oregonians, and recent wildfires have provided
some important lessons.
You can prepare now by taking three important steps.
Step one, contact your insurance company to make sure you have the right amounts
and types of coverage. Step two, create a home inventory by taking photos or
videos of your possessions in each room of your home. Step three, gather and make
copies of important identifying and financial documents.
Store them in the cloud or another secure location.
These three actions can help you and your community be more resilient in the face of wildfire.

And once again, we're talking with Lisa McCleese Kelly
and her merry band of merry makers,
I guess, over at Networking
Network in Action. How you doing this morning Lisa? Great to have you back.
Thank you for having me. Okay tell us about the Network in Action. By the way it
is niaoregon.com website. Is that how they get a hold of you? It is s-o-ore-gon.com.
Oh s-o-ore-gon.com. S-o-ore-gon. I'm sorry s-o-networking.com. Okay s- S-O Oregon dot com. S-O Oregon, I'm sorry, S-O networking dot com.
Okay, S-O networking dot com.
Yes.
Got that right.
Okay, duly corrected.
I'll make sure and do that.
Thank you.
It'll never happen again.
Never happen again.
Hey, one of your members ended up tripling their business.
What happened?
Yeah, so she's been with NIA for almost three years.
She's in two groups.
And I was talking to her last week because she has to hire somebody again.
This will be the third time that she's hiring someone.
And she said, it's all because of you.
And that's very nice, but you have to show up.
You have to, if you can't make it, you have to send a sub.
You have to show value to the other members.
You have to pass referrals.
So it's not just me.
Obviously you have to be good at what you do.
So my little tip today is if you're in a networking group, if you're doing anything, show up and
show value because then you too might build the triple of your business.
All right, great.
We have a couple new members or not new members, but members of Network in Action that Lisa
brought in and we wanted to bring attention to the lovely Hope Smith.
Hello, good morning.
Hello, Hope Smith.
How are you doing this morning?
I'm doing fabulous. How are you? Hang on just a second. I don't think I'm hearing you. Alright. Let me smack that one. I'm colorblind,
I don't always see the red one. It happens, it happens. Good morning. Hope, great to see you back here. You used to work here?
I did, yeah. Back in the day. Like nine years. And so now you're managing a band. I am. What is that?
I am managing a three-piece blues band called The Brisbane Project and they've got
amazing guitar player Michael Ian Brisbane, who's my husband, and Mike P you on bass,
Ray Kilman on drums, and they play old school blues like B.B. King, Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn,
but they also have originals. They have an original album called Ode to the Alley,
and they're just kind of bringing back the old school blues style with a modern twist.
Now, are we finally getting over being broken in society in which people were just not going
out and seeing performances? It's kind of weird what happened.
Yeah.
And, well, like I said, when you still see people bicycling with masks on, I just kind
of...
It's a little strange. Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
Well, they did start back in 2020. They kind of
put this band together and then nothing really happened. And so we are seeing over the last year
and a half, they've been booking really solid. We're seeing a lot of people at shows, a lot of
festivals. So they've opened up at Brit a couple of times for Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, full crowds. It
was really great. Buddy Guy, incredible show. Yeah, incredible. And so we're seeing a lot more of that
type of industry
where people are going out to festivals, events,
all that kind of thing.
So the idea is to keep live music
and keep it rocking and bluesing.
100%, yes.
Oh, you can.
How can people book?
Is that what you're looking for right now, booking?
Oh, absolutely.
So we have our website.
It's the brisbaneproject.com.
So think Brisbane, Australia, right?
And you can go right there and it says book now, or if you just want to check to see where we're playing
It says upcoming shows and click it you can get a free mp3 right now if you want of their
Live version of levy from Led Zeppelin. All right, very good
You know what's really cool about the musical world in some respects is that you know big big record companies aren't necessarily
In total control of this any longer, right And you can do a lot of this on-
We're all independent.
Yeah, absolutely.
100%.
So very cool. We'll get your information up. Good to see you again.
You too. Absolutely.
By the way.
All right. And now we're going to be bringing in Dr. Jake Lair, DDS.
So the dentist. How you doing this morning, Jake?
Morning, Bill. Doing great. How are you?
I'm doing fine. Tell us a little bit about your practice, where that is.
We are on East McAndress Road, the corner of McAndress and Corona, which helped in 2020
to locate us.
Anyway.
That's the first time.
Just look for Corona.
Right.
Across from Providence.
Okay.
Tell us about the Bright Smiles Full Plate Food Drive.
You have partnered with the Salvation Army.
Yeah. So Bright Smiles Full Plates is our food, the name of our food drive.
When you come in, you can bring in $20 worth of non-perishable food and we'll give you a whitening kit, a take home kit.
It's a premium product. There's no need to do impressions in our office.
That's kind of a mess sometimes.
And you take them home and whiten your smile.
In exchange for a food donation.
In exchange for a food donation.
Yeah, what is it about the networking in action,
which has helped you if you get on that?
Oh gosh, I was looking for a way to really get outside
my comfort zone, which I did.
And Lisa's fantastic at garnering people
that are wonderful at talking to each other.
And so I get to rub shoulders with other business owners and talk to people in different ways
that I never would have been able to do on my own.
Now you are a general dentist, but you really cater to, would it be fair to say, anxiety
field patients?
Yeah, somewhat.
I think so. Yeah.
It's, has the, the dental trade kind of changed
over the years because I mean,
I'll give you an experience that I had back
and when I was a little kid and going to the dentist
in the 1960s, it was kind of like, here's Dr. Wempa.
Dr. Wempa was a former Marine and he brought his kind
of Marine sensibilities to his dental care at that time.
And I remember, doctor, it hurts. No, it doesn't. And, and of course, it really did back then. Is that over now?
Is that finally gone? I think for the most part, that's gone. I'm glad to hear that. Yeah. All
right. What else is special about your practice if you don't mind? Well, I like, I really enjoy helping people get some pretty complex dental work done that
have anxiety but without the need for sedation.
Without the need for sedation?
Yeah.
Okay.
Is there a reason you don't want to try to do the sedation?
I never had an interest in it.
I was always able to connect with people pretty well, build trust relationships with them
and I found that I was able to address by active listening, address needs that people
have and people feel heard and I care about how people feel while we're working.
It can't always be pain free but we can always communicate through it and make sure it does
go away.
Yeah and there are ways to mitigate some of that
where it's like, okay, the pain's there,
but it's maybe off in the distance
and it's not quite so personal, right?
Could be.
I appreciate that. Yeah.
All right, do implants, things like that,
anything else or are you prepped for that?
Well, let's see.
So there's a lot of things that I,
I do most things that most dentists do, general dentists.
There's some things that I don't do.
I know my comfort zone well, and I have great relationships with the specialists in the
valley.
We are blessed with fantastic specialists here.
And so that's where they come in.
All right.
Very good.
Dr. Jake Lair, and it's on 1485 East McAndrews, and you can call 532-2997, Lairdental.com.
We appreciate you being here.
Thank you.
Glad that you're also a member of Network in Action. So, all right, Lisa, any big meetings coming up and people want to get involved on this
before we take off?
Well, I think I'm going to let Hope tell her experience in NIA, if that's okay.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to ask you.
Oh, my goodness.
It's the most amazing networking group on the planet.
I've done networking for 20 plus years and I gotta say, building these type of relationships
are more than just meeting people
and just talking with them every day
or once a week or once a month.
It is building heart connections.
So we're actually getting to know people
for who they are in their heart,
which makes it so much easier to hang out,
talk and refer business and really get to know each other.
So we're family.
All right, thank you very much. Hope, thank you, Jake. Thank you, Lisa. We'll catch you next time, alright?
Thanks!
Be well.

Bruno, the Fontana, roofing shop dog and mascot, is particularly fired up at the end of a long day.
Let's find out what all the commotion is about.
And there's Bruno, always excited to see us.
Looks like he has something on his mind.
He never disappoints.
Yes, you are a contractor's best friend.
No arguments there.
No, I believe that's plural.
He's saying we are a contractor's best friend.
Uh-huh, valid points Bruno. Since Fontana now has a full metal shop He's saying we are a contractor's best friend Aha
Valid points Bruno since Fontana now has a full metal shop providing flashing siding skirting gutters
Practically any custom metal detail contractors need in a variety of colored coatings
He's right. I suppose it does make us a contractor's best friend
Wait, what did he just call you a jerk? No, he can smell the jerky in my pocket.
There you go, buddy.

Honestly provocative talk with Lars Larsen.
I have to say, I don't really have a direct dog
in the fight.
I don't own a suppressor for any of the pistols
and the rifles that I own.
But I want people to be able to buy a suppressor
and maybe I'll buy one too
if they finally get rid of that stupid $200 tax.
You know that tax was put in place almost 100 years ago
and it was primarily aimed at criminals.
Lars, weekdays noon to three on KMED.
We've heard it all.
That boulder was hidden in the grass.
My St. Bernard jumped on the hood.
Gotta have to get that emergency brake fixed.
Garage doors need to go up faster.
But the reason you need auto body repair doesn't matter to us as much as making your car look
new again and the process easy for you.
At Lithia Body and Paint, we've been getting Southern Oregon drivers back on the road since 1946.
Service, speed, accuracy. That's Lithia Body and Paint on Bullock Road in Medford.
Hi, I'm Stephen with Stephen Westwell Riffin, Inc. and I'm on KMED.
Emails of the Day, and those are sponsored by Dr. Steve Nelson, Central Point Family Dentistry,
well-established practice. It's on, out to the mausoleum Mexican restaurant in Central Point and they do many aesthetic
Cases to help transform your teeth that will help you feel comfortable and happy to smile in front of your family always a good thing
Central Point Family Dentistry dot-com and I had numerous people writing me this morning
Ah writes a bill. I just caught the last while driving.
Was that Steve Grigsby who had lost his wife, a radio friend, and I wanted to confirm before
I reach out to him.
Yes, Amy, it absolutely is.
It was Steve Grigsby and I'm keeping Steve in our prayers here.
And I hope that maybe you do it too, because Steve has been working with his wife
for a long time.
You know, he'd call the show,
and he would talk about all the challenges
that we were facing,
that he was facing then in the medical world and elsewhere.
Michael ends up writing,
Bill, about comedy, you said,
a Congressional cloaca, that's hilarious.
Love it. Yeah, cloaca is a great word. It really is. I mispronounced it for the longest time until I looked it up. Cloaca is the bird butt. What comes out
of the bird butt. I call it the Oregon Legislative cloaca. We have the
City Council cloacas. You have the Congressional cloacas, you have the congressional cloacas.
It's like everything gets mixed up into a nasty soup and it plops out under your windshield, the windshield of life, I suppose.
Dale writes me this morning about that.
Bill, I just wanted to let you know that the common Iranian
people are quite nice and friendly.
I have heard this too, Dale.
And Dale continues, it's the leaders as as in all the countries, who cause the problems.
I spent a year and a half in Iran in the mid-1960s while the Air Force, well, in the Air Force
rather, and one of the first people I met was General Zomini, who was the head of the
Army Academy in Tehran, and really mostly the riding academy.
He had me choose a horse from
the stables and also had a pair of riding boots made for me so I could
learn to play polo. The matches were held on Friday, Fridays rather, and one of the
best players was an old British fellow about 70 at the time who tried to teach
me. My horse was mine the entire time I was there but he wasn't much into polo
unless there was a horse ahead of him and he could easily catch any horse on the pitch.
But once in the open he would not run nearly as hard.
That's Dale Casey.
Johnson writing me this morning, Good morning Bill, listen to your show every morning on
the way to work.
You had a really interesting guest this morning, but I was unable to catch his name.
He was talking about a book he wrote on different approaches to finance, retirement and taxes.
Could you send me his name?
I certainly will. And his name is Bonnie. Bonnie Hadley ends up writing about that too.
Mark Kwan. Interesting. Bill, I went to Mr. Kwan's website and saw information on the courses that
he offers. Perhaps this is how he became wealthy. And it could be. It could be. I just find it really interesting.
It, let me just tell you, for those who missed it, I'm not sure. I want to buy a copy of his
book. Mark Kwan is a financial guy. He's been doing this for a long time, partnered up with
Newsmax on this one. It's called Be Smart, Pay Zero Taxes, Use the Buy, Borrow, and Die Strategy. And essentially, he talked about taking, well, you would take an investment account,
purchase assets, put it in there, and then borrow against that, and then you continue to borrow,
and you only purchase something and put it into accounts as if you can borrow against it. I can't
say I understand it yet. I don't, but I'm
going to go and try to to find out more about this. So I think that should be
quite interesting. B-Smart pays zero taxes. See, is there any other error, any
other emails I missed? Oh, Winnie wrote me over the weekend. There were many people that ended up sharing.
And Winnie's saying, Bill, this was a happy Father's Day. This was in after the fact of
what we were talking about. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads. The stories that the
people who called in from all those calling in are so beautiful and heartwarming. Dads are so
very important in our lives. Let's make dads great again. I appreciate
that and I was thinking about my father by the way when he that day and I had
mentioned this before kind of in passing that you know dad was like old yeller
and I kind of learned my parenting style from my dad I was more of a yeller at the kids and I finally backed away from that.
It's one of the biggest joys when my son Will calls and I'm much closer to Will for whatever
reason than Sarah. Sarah was an earlier child and I think she's one of those millennials that
people who are toxic in your life need to be, you know, you need to get them out of your life.
I don't know if that's what's going on, but she really doesn't communicate all that much.
But Will will check again and had a great get-together and he's getting into business and seems to be moving well.
And I think what I most appreciate about him is that he's everything that I am not in some respects.
He respects what I do, but he's one of those people who he walks into a
room and everyone is a friend and if they're not a friend it's just a friend
that we haven't discovered yet. And he likes people and he's communicated with
people, good salesperson, and I know he's
going to do really well.
And it just cheers me to know this.
And yep, fathers end up helping that along with the moms.
The email bill at BillMeierShow.com.
Got to run.
We'll see you Wheels Up Wednesday.
