The breaking news here just a few minutes ago, federal jury found Sean Combs,
Diddy Combs, guilty two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. They cleared him
of more serious charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and sex trafficking.
Jury deliberated more than 12 hours on this one and Betty writes me from Grants
Best and says, what? She couldn't believe the verdict. I don't know if you have an
opinion on that or not. We go to David. Hello David, you're on the road here. You
wanted to talk about the the driving test thing we were kicking around the other day. Morning.
Yeah, I do. You know, I wouldn't got insurance. I'm in my mid-60s. I still work, have a DDL, I have a good driving record.
Oh yeah, you have a commercial driving permit. Okay.
I do.
Alright.
I do. And so I took some insurances, pitched insurances, and then they said, well, you're over 60, we want you to take the driving test.
It's mandatory, and you'll get a deduction on your insurance.
And then we're gonna put the little fob in your window
so that we can record everything here.
And so I took the driving test,
and I mean, I thought it was redundant
from what they said on their little screen.
It's eight hours, eight hours of their tests.
Really, an eight hour test
for the commercial driving license?
No, eight hours for the insurance.
Because they want you to take this whole test
to switch insurances to give you a lower score
so that you can put a bob in your window
so they can record your speed
and your turning and your driving. All right, now I don't know if I quite understand I want to
make sure I understand you perfectly. All right. The the commercial drivers license
test was not what took eight hours it was an eight hour test for the insurance
company? Yes there's an online test they have you take so I switch from one
insurance company to another insurance company. When you're over a certain age Yes, there's an online test they have you take. So I switch from one insurance
company to another insurance company. When you're over a certain age, they say
that to get a better rate, you don't have to go with them, you don't want
to, but to get a better rate, we would ask if you take this driving test. And it's
through AARP and it's through other places that you can take the
test. It costs you you money you pay for it
You know it did drop my insurance quite a bit for my wife and I
And but we both had to take the test and then they gave us the fob in our windows so that they could record our driving
I have done everything absolutely possible to avoid having to put the fob the last thing I wanted was monitoring chip. So you thought it was a good deal for you in this particular case?
Well, in this case from 260 down to 130, yes, you know, for insurance.
130 a month?
Yes, but what they don't know is I drive my work vehicles.
There's a fob in there, so it doesn't matter. It's in the car or something.
Okay.
I don't get recorded.
But my biggest pet peeve though is,
it's totally off the subject,
different subject on healthcare.
So I have a granddaughter who had spinal surgery.
She's here visiting.
She got a pain in her back with the Tante.
And to get an x-ray to make sure that her rods
and her screws, nothing
had come loose.
She's 12 years old.
Just the other night, and went in there.
They took the x-ray, said it'd be about 45 minutes to read it.
We said they're an hour and a half.
They had to send it to Dornbecker to have it looked at, and then they came back.
They said they wouldn't talk to us about it until they could put us in a room, and they
don't have new rooms available in the emergency department in maybe a few hours. And I said can't you just tell us she's in
pain? Can we take her home? What we'd like to lay her down. She doesn't need to be
sitting in a wheelchair. And they said no we can't see you. The doctor won't talk to
you till we put you in a room. So we said we're not gonna do this. We'll just go
you know we'll fly her home to her doctor which was Salt Lake City. It's
Children's Primary Hospital where she had the surgery. And they said, oh, just go online and look
at my chart and I'll tell you what the conditions are. And I couldn't believe that. I just didn't
understand it, Bill. Okay, so you could go online to my chart and see what's wrong with
the granddaughter, but the doctor wouldn't talk with you unless it's in a room?
The doctor would not talk to us unless they put us in a room.
Asante, they set up triage out in their emergency room.
They have these old curtains, chairs.
They triage everybody and then they say, okay, well, this is a minor.
We need to get you in right away.
I'm wondering though, is this another building opportunity of some sort that if you're...
Of course. Of course it is. I've talked to you before. I work for Providence. I've talked to you before.
And I'm just telling you, this is ridiculous. We have to charge to go see the doctor, get in a room.
If there was a surgeon, if it was an emergency and he's saying all her rods came loose or one of her screws came loose,
we would be probably in a room in no time. Yeah, well let me tell you David, it sounds to me like
there's a real screw loose in the medical system and you have just described a perfect example of
it, more than a screw loose. The best to granddaughter seriously wow what a story yeah you can go on on my chart go on my chart and
take a look at it but you know to have the doctor actually explain it to you
and maybe answer a few questions well that's extra charge you would have
thought that that was kind of included I don't know 7705633770KMED. Let me go.
LaCracia, you're going to back clean up on this one. Go ahead. What's going on?
Just a couple things on all these fires that are happening. I was just reading the Bush
Brush Dunky.
The what? You were reading the what?
She's talking about all these weird fires.
No, no. Who are you reading?
So, she has reported on the cost of what they're paying.
No, no, no. You're not answering my question. Who is this you're talking about?
Well, first off, I'm talking about the cost of these fires.
No, who is this source? Please. Okay. Her name is Breast... Her website is Breast Junkie.
What? Breast Junkie. Yeah, that's the name of her website.
Okay. What makes her such an expert on this? Please.
Well, she's done quite a report on all these different fires, had all these experts on.
these different fires, had all these experts on. She has the cost of what these fires are costing, like $1.5 million. They're paying per lot to just clean them up. That doesn't include nothing.
Okay. You're talking about urban fires. Okay. Fine. All right.
Yeah. What they're making plus also just in the Jumatra, we had the situation with,
gosh darn it, trying to find all this for you.
When you blogged about this...
Well, give me a point of this though.
I know that the fires are expensive to clean up and everything else, but what is the point
from our latest online expert?
Well, also with Jumatra, you have Wes Rowley, who has the same initials as Randy Reuther.
Okay, just would you give me the point, please?
Well, there was a couple different points. One was a lot of your people that responded when you posted
the block about the the fires and these firemen getting killed, they didn't quite trust the information.
Oh, okay. See, now you've gone from urban fires to the alleged sniper over in Idaho.
See, I wasn't following you, Lucretia.
Yeah, I followed him.
Okay, all right. All right. Yeah, no, you're right. Many people there say that... I've
noticed that there were a lot of people online that were saying,
oh yeah, he was just the patsy. He was just the patsy.
Right.
Yeah. And it turned into a sniper rifle, to a shotgun from a sniper rifle.
But on the other hand, if you're being shot at, with a sniper rifle versus a shotgun, then you're probably not alive to say either way what you were shot with at that time.
Okay. All right. I get it. And what is the overall take on it?
Yeah, he has the same initials as Randy Weaver.
That doesn't matter. Come on. That's not...
No, but there's all these other things that there's the 42, it's the days they did it.
Even Catherine Austin Fitz was talking about this November 6th and this Friday the 13th,
but they love to do things on dates.
They go over the dates.
All right.
Are people ever allowed to just be crazy and insane and do things on their schedule rather
than some deep, dark, numerological or satanic kind of
influence? You know, Bill, let me tell you, the scientists said it was really bizarre when this lady with autism who wanted to get out because of a hospital had ghosts in it.
Okay, yeah, right. Well, please don't. You're kind of going off on different things. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
And speaking of bizarre, that was a bizarre call. But anyway...
Dave, a quick one here, then I got to move. All right?
Yeah, there was a lightning storm Monday night that caused the fire here.
Now, I guess they had an alert. I didn't get it. But...
the fire here. Now, I guess they had an alert. I didn't get it.
Are you talking about the tiller fire or something in your neighborhood? And just like that, we lost him. Okay. It's
18 minutes after rate. Hopefully your phone can work
770-5633.

I was really guest heavy before.
And then when I do open the phone lines and the phone lines don't work and then the people
don't listen to me.
I'm going to ask a question.
I'm asking a question.
I just need an answer, man.
That's all I need.
Matt's here to answer me on something too. I'm gonna ask a question. I'm asking a good question. I just need an answer, man. That's all I need.
Matt's here to answer me on something too.
What did you think about that fellow
with the reshoring book here, Matt?
How you doing?
Well, like you Bill, I actually haven't read the book.
I'll have to get a copy of it and take a look.
You know, one of my concerns has been-
Could you back off your phone again, once again?
Thanks.
Oh, sorry.
One of my issues with illegal immigration, of course, is the effect it has on the census.
And it looks like there's a Republican who's going to be pushing a bill to change the census
from counting everybody to counting just citizens, which I think is a great idea. That would absolutely be huge because you have states like California that are overly
weighted in the census, but there's a huge percentage of their population
that shouldn't be there. And really, I mean, it's one thing to count them and say,
okay, we have this much population in here, but only citizens and people who are technically allowed
to be here should be counted for it
when it comes to political apportionment.
And that's what this Republican's talking about, right?
Yeah, and I agree 100% with that.
But so the conversation you were having
has so many interesting aspects to it.
One of the things that I've been looking at
is the effect AI and robotics
are going to have on our illegal workforce. If you think about it, you have, let's just
take Mexico for example, we are importing foreign labor, which is the same as, it's
a little more money, but it's the same as manufacturers opening manufacturer facilities,
manufacturing facilities in Mexico.
So rather than opening down there, you keep them here and then you import the cheap labor.
And in exchange, Mexico doesn't have to be innovative in its economy.
They basically have exported that need for economics.
But what they say is, look, we'll give you the free or low cost cheap labor, the slave labor. And then when they send
the money back, then that's how we're going to get our economy. We're not going to worry about it.
Yeah. It's going to be essentially a United States transfer payment through the back door, right?
Right. Right. So, because what I've always found interesting is everybody keeps telling me, and you, and all your listeners, that these people commit crimes at a lesser rate than Americans do, that the huge majority of them are hard workers, they're, you know, super industrious, they're entrepreneurs, they start more businesses than American people do.
Blah, blah, blah.
I mean, we've heard all this.
Well, I know Dr. John Lott has the actual stats when it comes to illegal immigrants and crime,
and nothing of what you have said is true when you actually look at the record.
So here's my point, though.
Let's assume that it's all true.
I don't understand, I mean I get it because I talked about transfer payments and all that,
but just playing around with the idea.
If it's true that these people are the great, hardworking, entrepreneurial middle class
in all of these countries, why isn't the president of Mexico standing at the border,
begging these people not to leave?
Why is she not saying this was the whole root cause as well?
Well, they come here for all the free stuff and the opportunity, of course.
But then you ask the second question, which is why are they leaving?
Well, maybe because those two things don't exist and because people don't feel safe.
But to me, the bottom line is that these are the kind of high quality people that everybody
keeps telling me they are.
I don't understand why the leaders in these countries aren't begging them to stay.
I mean, you saw Zuckerberg offer $100 million signing bonuses to people who work at OpenAI become work for them, and
I guess they recruited like three or four of them, then why is Mexico saying, we'll
give you $5,000 if you just stay and go to work at this place, we're working this industry
or help us grow the economy, we'll stay, we'll give you...
Why don't they though?
Yeah, because they don't have that soup.
They don't have it. They also don't have the capital,
I would dare say. They don't have the capital markets that the United States does. Would you
agree with that? Yeah. So here's my next question. Look what Argentina has done. I've been following
this very closely. Look what Argentina has accomplished since this guy. Now, in these other
countries, it's not like America where you got gotta go through 100 senators and 435 congressmen.
The presidents have a lot more power
in these Latin countries.
And the leader in Argentina basically said,
we're gonna go back to economics.
I think this guy actually is an economist.
He actually went to school at the University of Chicago.
Is this the Malay fellow?
Yeah.
OK.
He is an aficionado of-
Austrian economics.
I know that.
He's a big fan.
Yeah.
So you look at what he accomplished.
Why doesn't Mexico do the same thing?
Why doesn't Honduras do the same thing?
Why doesn't El Salvador, I would say,
is making the right steps by making their land safe
by locking up all these criminals, and then you allow the free markets to develop.
And I expect to see that over time.
But this is, to me, this is the root cause.
The root cause is these presidents don't have any concept of economics.
They don't understand free markets.
They don't understand free market. They don't
understand free enterprise. They don't understand any of it or how to go about it.
Well, when you've grown up in a essentially socialist area of the world
and Latin America largely, you'd have to agree, has been a pretty much a
socialist and oligarchal style, wouldn't you say, ultimately?
Argentina certainly was. Argentina was... I mean, they devalued their currency, I think, quite since the 1980s.
I mean, it's the same old thing.
You thought, well, Bernie Sanders talks about oligarchs, but most people don't even know
what that is. But the fact is, these countries have been run by millionaires and billionaires,
and this guy comes in the day and says, yeah, we're going to do things differently.
We're going to take all these things aflata.
I think he says...
Yeah.
I get where you're going on this one.
Matt, I wanted to ask you a question, though.
Yeah.
Do you think we're tiptoeing past the graveyard or whistling past the graveyard by thinking, you know, when even when I was
asking Spencer, you know, the author last hour about artificial intelligence, I'm already
seeing people losing their jobs over artificial intelligence around the country right now.
And I can't imagine that the factories of the future that even President Trump is talking
about having here are going to be much more than a lot of Amazon robots that are doing
most of the construction.
Am I wrong about that?
No, I think you're correct.
And that's part of my problem with illegal labor.
Yeah, because the last thing we need is more of it right now.
We're going to get you.
What's that?
The last thing we need is more.
I'm telling you, we're going to end up stuck with 10 or 20, maybe 30 illegal immigrants
here with no work being put on a safety net program. Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at. And that's not even talking about
what we're going to be doing with Americans. I think there's a little bit
of this... I'm going back into the Charles H. Smith kind of conversation that I had
with him a few weeks ago about his book, The Myth of Progress. The Myth of
Progress is that the industrial policy and artificial intelligence and tech
bros in charge of everything we are not allowed to question if real progress
when it comes to human well-being not what capital wants but to human
well-being do you think this is something that we're going to be you
know that's going to be rearing its ugly head pretty soon?
Okay, well I'm going to say two things. Careful, Bill. You're signing like that communist from New
York. No, I know I am, but remember, you see, I think one of the worst things we've ever done
in this country is deciding that what the capitalist wants is automatically progress for people like you and me.
Okay, so a couple of things come to mind.
Because we are not an economy. We people are not an economy. We are a society. We are humans, right?
And we have certain needs that we have to, in order to have a cohesive society, there needs
to be purpose, shared values, and especially purpose.
I think we all need purpose.
I agree with you.
One of the problems I have with unions, I don't have problems with people being in unions
or whatever per se, but one of my problems
is the bosses who run those unions, they could see technology changing way back in the 80s.
And they have all these dudes that these guys are living in these mansions and not once
did any of them say, hey, listen, we've been talking to the tech bros, we know
particularly this corporation is going to be adding some new technologies and we're going to
lose about 25% of our workforce. We want to use your dues and get you re-educated so you can be
involved in that next level of the economy. But you see, then there's the nonsense of that,
because what were they telling everybody to do? Well, learn to code, right?
Learn to code, learn to code.
Now AI will code.
You can actually do your chat and say, hey, build me a program.
Boom, done that.
Boy, screw Microsoft.
When it comes to technology, there's a basic example.
You used to have TDMA and TDMA in regards to cell phones.
Now we have 5G and all that.
But what happens a lot of times is the first company to get to the new technology, whatever
it is, they're going to be like, oh, I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. I cell phones, and now we have 5G and all that. But what happens a lot of times is the first company to get to the new technology,
whatever that happens to be, and then that's great. You're like, oh, you're first. And you get to
charge a lot of money for it. But then somebody comes up with a cheaper version that's even better.
Yeah. Well, in artificial intelligence though, and this is the question I'm going to ask you, you're a stock guy, okay?
Yeah. In artificial intelligence,
when everybody has artificial intelligence, how can there possibly be any scarcity in
that knowledge and or economy so that we all get rich?
We all get rich. Yeah, this is a you only have a three hour show.
These are just my thoughts.
OK, my first thought is anybody who has the wherewithal.
I'm not talking if you're someone who doesn't like risk at all.
I just had this conversation with one of my childhood best friends two days ago and I
said the stock market is the great equalizer because you and I
may not benefit with our work by new technologies. In fact, we could be harmed by it, but if you can
invest in the market, it allows you, I don't have to work at company X to benefit from increases in
technology and profits and all that from company X. I just need to be able
to buy shares of it. I agree, but you do realize that only 10% of the population right now owns,
what, about 90% of it right now of the equity? That's true. And even when you were doing your
interview, you were saying that 17% of the market is owned by foreigners. Right.
So what I'm saying is, I know not everybody comes from the same place and has the same opportunity and all that.
However, the stock market is one of the great equalizers because it allows the average person
to get involved with new technology and with making money from the new technologies.
If you're solely relying on your labor, whether it's your brain labor or your muscle labor,
then you might find yourself in a pickle unless you're investing.
Like he was pointing out in your interview, all of the capital was being controlled and
built by the big investor, the capitalists, the hedge fund guys, the private equity and all that.
People have to find a way. I tried to talk to younger people about this, and unfortunately,
people don't get serious about this stuff until they're 40. What they need to do is they need to
get involved in this when they're 20. Yeah. And then I would still say, is this high-tech AI future something which is truly good for the
mass of humanity? Well, okay. I'll tell you what, I think I'm going to have to talk with you more
about that later. All right. I know I've taken way too much of your time anyway, but I want you to
think about that question and get back to me. And maybe we talk about it another time. Can we do that?
All right. Sounds right. All right.
Matt, I always appreciate you, Matt, calling because you can, you know, dig off into the money, into the various other things, but I think that's still something we're going to have to consider.
We're not supposed to question AI is progress. AI is progress. The tech bros will be in control
of this. We will all get wealthy
From this but yet everybody will have it and so where is the scarcity to well, I don't know I don't know. He's uh, one of those things and yeah, I could start sounding like that socialist crazy mayor guy
I know I know

What's a real sale?
If it's a handful of pieces marked down
and stuck in the corner, it's not a real sale.
If it comes with an asterisk and a looping list of exclusions, it's not a real sale.
But if it's Garrison's semi-annual sale, it's the real deal, with five years' interest

Maybe on Conspiracy Theory Thursday we'll have a deeper conversation on that.
All that, where do you think AI takes it here, I guess?
Right now, open for business, open for business with Randall over at Advanced Air.
His number is 772-6866.
You know, the one thing is though, is that the robot is not going to be coming by anytime
soon and repairing your AC system that blows up in
the heat.
Would that be fair, Randall?
We appreciate you coming on.
Yeah, good morning, Bill.
Yeah, thanks for the call.
Yeah, it's interesting.
AI does have an influence on HVAC.
We're seeing it integrated into the control side more where there's some sampling going on and like intelligence within the HVAC systems
that help average temperatures
and like look for peak usage and whatnot
and try to optimize the system, which is really cool
and saving consumers money.
But in the serviceability side of it,
yeah, you still need a technician to come in
and do some of the work or an installer to come by and make duct modifications or change out equipment.
You know, it's the human side of things.
Yeah, I don't know if I want to be a software coder in the near future.
That'd be a conversation for another time.
Hey, what is going on here?
A lot of people will say, all right, Pacific Power sends me that wonderful power saving email and it
says turn your thermostat up, you know, 78 degrees or above and you'll save
energy and get it. Of course I'm thinking what the heck is the point of
having a air conditioner if it's 80 degrees inside the house.
Oh, I know. It's a thing, you know, listen, if you're heading out of town, if the
listeners are heading out of town for the weekend or they're going to be at work all day, you know, don't
turn your system off.
Don't turn the stat up to, you know, 80 degrees or something.
It's going to be really difficult for your equipment to recover that thermal gain once
you need air conditioning in the space.
You know, a temperature or two, a degree or two on your thermostat is achievable and it might save
you a little bit of money and it might alleviate some of the burden on your equipment.
But once you start going beyond that, it's actually harder for your equipment to keep
up and you're actually using more energy, more power to regain that
thermal mass.
And you have mentioned in the past how the way that most of the HVAC systems are designed
here in the Rogue Valley is 20-25 degrees split from the outside temperatures.
So if it's 115, maybe sometimes your system can only handle keeping you down to 85 degrees or something
like that.
And there's nothing wrong with your system, right?
You just need to understand that.
Right, absolutely.
When you start seeing temperatures, outside temperatures, up in the 105 degree plus range,
expect some temperature creep indoors.
Our systems in this region are designed at about 95 degrees outside air
temperature and there's about a 20 to 25 degree split that your equipment is
designed to handle. So if we're up over 100, 105 and you're seeing your
indoor temperature creep up to like 78 or something, that's tolerable and to be
expected frankly. That doesn't mean that your equipment's broken.
It means that it's operating.
It's still blowing cold air.
It's just having trouble keeping up with that demand.
And that's why it's very important, like you say, that in spite of what anybody else may
say, let your HVAC, let your equipment run all day.
Don't wait when you come home because otherwise it will likely not catch up
when we have these 96 to 102 kind of days.
And we haven't even hit the peak at this point.
And-
Keep your fan running.
And keep your fan running continuously all day,
moving air, that way your control can re-sample air
and the equipment can know what needs to happen.
Otherwise it's tough to just overcome stagnant air. Yeah and you're there to
help people. You're telling me though you're like crazy busy I would imagine
right? It just happens. This is peak season for us. We're running all
over the Rogue Valley. You're probably seeing our vans everywhere and we're
trying to get to everybody. This is the time when. You're probably seeing our vans everywhere and we're trying to get to
everybody. This is the time when we give our clients, our comfort club members, priority
service. And so most of our work is for them. But certainly, you know, for new clients, give us a
call. We'll get you in where we can. But this is where it really does benefit people to be a comfort
club member. 7-7-2-6-8-6- 6 6 you can call Advanced Aaron Randall and then you can become a member
of the comfort club so if things go to heck, he's there.
And what the comfort club is, it's a maintenance program where we come and do at least
biannual visits, make sure that your filters are clean. Make sure that everything is running appropriately. That way when we face extreme weather
there's a less likelihood of your equipment failing. And the other thing
while you're at it, make sure that you keep cleaning the filters. Keep clean
filters and if you keep your fan on all the time I'll bet you that filter is
going to get dirtier more often too. So you better keep a supply. Keep that going.
It does.
All right.
Very good.
Hey, any deals before we take off here?
I know that during the peak season,
a lot of times there aren't as many rebates,
but I'll give you a final say on that.
What do you think?
Yeah, absolutely.
There are, yeah,
manufacturers have extended their rebates.
So there are still some great rebates available. Oregon Energy Trust of Oregon has
some great savings available and Advanced Air has also an in-house up to $1,000 rebate
on qualifying equipment. So there are a few different pools that we can grab funding from
depending on your qualifications and our sales staff helped you navigate all
of that to let you know if you're eligible or not.
But certainly we try to save people money where they can.
It's a very competitive industry.
We're used to bidding against multiple competitors and giving people the best price and the best
equipment to satisfy their needs.
All right, Randall, stay cool. No, it could be a challenge for some people,
but you'll help them get back to it. MyAdvancedAir.com, his number 247-772-6866,

is that j o'neill because there is a lot going on
uh... within the pennants day
there are the parade in this is that what can i say j now you are the parades and this is, well, what can I
say Jay? Now you are the president of the chamber there.
Vice president of the Eagle Point Upper Oak Chamber of Commerce.
Okay, right. And Eagle Point knows how to throw a party. I know this.
Absolutely.
So tell us about what is happening in the Friday.
Oh gosh, we got pretty much an all day, all evening type of program. We start off at about 730 with registration and eight o'clock kickoff for the Fund Run, one
mile and a 5k Fund Run in Eagle Point. We're going to have close to a hundred people signed
up for that. And then of course we got the vendors up and down Main Street. Main Street
is closed off and we have vendors on both sides all the way up and down Main Street, followed
by the parade that kicks off at 11.
But just before the parade, about 10.30-ish, we're going to have the military F-15 fighter
jet fly over Main Street.
That's always a showstopper, isn't it?
It almost brings tears to your eyes when you look up and see those fighter jets flying
over the way they do.
It's quite impactful, I think, for all of us and quite meaningful for all of us.
And then we've got also a World War I Army Air Corps biplane that will be flying over something close to 11, 1105, 1110.
Is that the one when they do a little lovely smoke skyriding?
He smokes as he flies over? Absolutely.
And then we may have a helicopter as well. We're waiting to confirm that.
So, and then the parade kicks off at 11 o'clock and goes down Main Street until about 12 noon.
And then everybody enjoys the vendors and the food trucks and everything until probably about 2.30, 3 o'clock.
We get a little break to clean up and then we open up the high school football stadium, about six,
for a big family event with face painters, balloon man, food trucks, music, DJ music in the high school
stadium. And that's free to the public to come and just sit. And then of course about 9.35, 9.45,
depending on whether we'll have the professional pyrotechnics and the fireworks show at the high school. Which is always the finale. It's the big finale.
The grand finale of that. So glad to hear that. So any cost to attend any of this or
what do you do? There is a cost of about $20 for the fun run but you get it you
get a t-shirt included. Okay. And that today is the last day to sign up for that
and get that $20 fee.
After that it'll be $35, but everything else is free of charge.
That's great to know.
Other than the food you might purchase at the food trucks.
Well, yeah, yeah. People have to make a buck or two on this one.
Now, it costs money to put on these kind of things.
It costs money to do the fireworks and such.
Now, that's not coming from the city itself
then. Is this coming through the chamber, the upper chamber? It does cost a bunch and that cost
goes up every darn year. The fireworks alone, gosh just a few years ago were $15,000 and now
it's over $20,000 for just the fireworks alone. The city helps us defray some of the costs,
probably about 80% of the cost for the fireworks itself. Everything else is put
on by the Chamber of Commerce and we do fundraising and we have sponsors that
help cover the cost because it goes up to 35,000 to put on that show.
Oh yeah, well it's well worth it and people really enjoy the Eagle Point festivities.
So why don't you tell us, go ahead and give me your sponsors, okay?
We want to make sure they're happy because I know how this game works.
It'll be like, you didn't mention mine.
You didn't mention me.
I'm putting in money for it.
At least give me some credit here.
On the spot, I hope I don't forget anybody.
But helping us with the fun run, we've got Harry and David, we've got Hunter Communications, we have Fire District Number 3, so thank you
to those sponsors.
We also have, for just the general events taking place during out the day and for the
fireworks, we have Kona Ice, Pro Sport and Spine, Rogue Valley Credit Union, Rogue Credit
Union, Sore Ready, Eagle Point Hardware.
We have-
Great place, yeah.
Yeah, absolutely.
I'm in there quite often, especially getting ready for the Fourth of July and other home
projects.
We have Braveheart Therapy.
We have Holt Homes, Rockwell Real Estate, Sisal Engineering, Treksel, General Truck Repair, Abbey's Pizza, just had that last
night for dinner.
Man, they used to, just about everybody's doing this stuff.
Had that for dinner last night.
How long is this list?
Southern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Sanitation and Vitus Construction.
Hope I didn't, excuse me if I left anybody out.
Okay, all right.
You see, there it is.
I let you abuse the radio station for a minute okay. Thank you. I'm just having fun so
once again starts 730 on Friday right? 730 Friday morning. The flyover is till by 11 p.m.
All right once again it's called let freedom ring in the neighborhood 4th of
July festivities in Eagle Point. Jay it's a pleasure having you in okay. Thank you.
My pleasure. Have the best of time ever all right. Looking in. Okay. Thank you. Have the best of time ever. All right, looking forward to it
Thank you. It is eight fifty three and change KMED and 993 KBXG Brad. You have been very patiently
Holding on here. I'm happy to get you on. What are you thinking?
Hey Bill great show this morning
Kudos vehicle point, you know, Kathy sell the mayor there does such a great job running that town. What wonderful town
Yep, Kathy does a great job there indeed thank you
hey real quick and you'll appreciate this as an electronics expert
uh what Randall was going to say is is if you have a system
please get a hold of somebody and get and get a spike suppressor put on it
we had a we had a bolt spike take out our our condenser outside fortunately we
had it covered under warranty.
So all we had to pay was the labor.
But just the labor only was 1200 bucks.
Otherwise it would have been a $4,500 repair.
And what they told me is,
is what the power company turning the units
or turning their power on and off all the time,
the way they do nowadays,
it's putting a load on the electronic elements in these things that they were never designed
to handle.
So it only, I think they only charged me 140 bucks, but be sure and get one of those suppressors
put on your outdoor condenser unit.
You'll be glad you did.
Yeah, the transients that are coming through the power system right now.
And you also have to look at, not only are you looking at noise coming in from various systems going on and off,
you also have to look at the noise from the renewable power which has been brought in,
even rooftop solar in many neighborhoods.
It's not perfectly filtered and lovely 60 cycle AC in many cases,
or there's the potential for
more dirt and that's and that's part of the problem you're dealing with with
some of these AC units you're absolutely right well but we you're you're an
electronics professional so you understand all this and but people don't
understand that our power the quality of our power you know that the cycles the
modulation all of it is we are in the most problematic
areas we have ever been in here in the Pacific Northwest because of all these renewables
that they're trying to balance.
Yeah, you take something which was steady and predictable, even hydropower, even coal
power, even something which is, baseload means it's moving, it's running, and it's something
that you don't have to ask the spin-up so to speak. And then you replace it with
intermittent and well what happens, right? Yeah, so anything in your
home that has a microprocessor involved in it, you better think about putting a
suppressor on it. All right, will do. Now a suppressor in this particular case, a
line suppressor, not a suppressor on the barrel like a firearm. Had to have fun with you Brad, okay? Thanks. All right. Yeah, put a silencer on your condenser.
That would be great. Thanks, Brad. It is 856. American Industrial Door has security and storm

This is Randall with Advanced Air and I'm on KMED. Hey, I just talked with him a few minutes ago, 8.58 and change.
Coming up on Conspiracy Theory Thursday,
I just wanted to give you a heads up.
Early, I'm going to be talking with a book author
who wrote a lot about those Idaho murders
in which Kohlberg is supposed to be pleading guilty.
And boy, I have a feeling he has a lot to say about that.
That'll be around 6.30 tomorrow.
Steven Yonkers, great attorney here in Southern Oregon
and Northern California will be joining me at 7.30.
And he's part of a civil rights lawsuit.
And I can't really explain it perfectly,
but it does have to do with COVID-19 vaccine lawsuits
from a number of years ago and some claims that were going on.
And he is working one of these cases and is looking to get it moving forward.
And I'm going to talk with him around 730. I'm looking forward to finding out,
is there going to be any justice for all the people who were screwed over in the process
back when they were told, take safe and effective or else?
We'll talk more about that tomorrow on the Bill Myers Show.
