What's on your mind on Conspiracy Theory Thursday?
We were talking about fireworks a little earlier,
and I was talking about this Klamath Falls guy,
it's facing 10 years in prison over the selling of M-80s,
you know, class M-explosive devices.
Now, there were other things going on there, too.
he was selling a whole bunch of them.
Keith, you had your experiences back when you were a kid, huh?
What's on your mind?
Oh, good morning.
Happy Independence Day, folks.
Indeed.
I enjoyed taking Bottle Rocket, taking them to Balserwood Plains, remember them?
Yep.
And flying, Bottle Rocket powered, jet powered, Balserwood plane.
So you had the Bottle Rocket be the jet.
engine, in other words, right?
They would loopy loop, and then
you know what happened at the end.
Oh, yeah. There was always a big...
They exploded.
Yep, big crash.
I have the fondest memory,
and I mean this sincerely because
it spooked the heck out of me.
One of them came back and swooped
right over my head, just like a
blue angel and blew up right
in front of my face.
It was a dangerous
time to be alive, but we
were.
Isn't it great, though, to have survived your childhood with some of the nonsense that we would do?
Well, all the nonsense that we used to do, I have another unrelated response.
I find a friend I grew up in Central Point.
We took up stingray bicycles and peddled all the way past Williams.
I think we were, what, 30 miles one way?
we got home after dark not wearing anything but our tank tops and shorts and tennis shoes
and my friend's mother was all upset my mother was like well he's still alive
there was a more relaxed attitude towards parenting in those days wasn't there
but there was also the over parenting i had that experience that that very very
day. My friend's mother
was totally wigged out,
upset with him.
And my mother was like,
he's still alive.
Yeah, he's still alive. I've done my job,
right?
I love that. Great story.
Thanks, Keith, Keith and Cave Junction.
Deplorable Patrick's here, too.
How you doing, Patrick? Morning.
Good morning. I'm really glad that
last caller didn't have
bicycle malfunction
pathway home at night with no cell phones.
Yeah, you think about that.
And it was just routine.
You know, just routine.
Well, I remember, you know, as a kid, it was to go out back.
And I would travel miles away from home when I was living in Milan as a young boy.
And I would go maybe two or three miles away into the forest and things because I'd go find abandoned homes.
And I'd look for arrowheads.
And I would do things like that.
And the main issue is that, you know, did I go tell my mom that,
Mom, here are my GPS coordinates of where I'm going.
He just went.
But the thing is, Patrick, it was an extremely high-trust society in those days.
And I think that is moving.
Walking and walk down the Santa Clara River be gone all day as kids and never come back.
Anyway, I'm on a campaign to move 4th of July to winter.
It wouldn't have as much fire danger.
and I don't know if I'll get very far with that, but I did want to bring up something.
No, no, don't let go with that.
That would be interesting.
Let's say July 4, you know, have the Independence Day celebration, the actual federal holiday in the winter, do the celebrations then instead of July,
and then have at it with the fireworks all you want, don't worry about it, safe, insane.
whatever, right?
That's the idea.
Let's keep talking about
to beat that drum,
but I did want to respond
to what Greg said a while ago
was he was talking about
being a kid with M80s
and he's surprised
he has all his fingers.
And I want to mention something
even though it's rare
that you have to watch out
and I tell my grandson
put that firecracker on the ground
to light it.
Because I remember one time
It's probably very rare.
A firecracker fuse instead of the usual, oh, what, 10 or 15 seconds you have to get rid of that thing,
somebody lit a fuse and it went zip and boom.
Yep.
Because it was defective fuse, and it did not give you any 10 seconds or whatever.
So that could happen.
Well, that's why you tied it to the Army Man.
The Army Man, the Green Army Man doll is supposed to,
take the brunt of that, not your fingers. That was the rule. That's right. And it can happen.
I don't know how common it might be, but if it's only one time it blows off in your hand,
you definitely wouldn't want it. Yeah, you got it right. Patrick, thanks for the call.
Let's catch up with Fox News. Kim, Commando Digital Update, too. And then more conversation on
Conspiracy Theory Thursday. I wanted to flesh out a little bit more on that.
story that I was sharing a bit with Judd Dunning about the grumpiness of the middle class.
And I wanted to dig it into a little more about what Sean Ring was talking about.
And I just wanted to find out, you know, are you kind of a grumpy middle class person kind of,
yeah, you're doing okay, but, you know, kind of grumpy about it because that is the general
surveyed overall feel of the nation right now.
And what is driving that grumpiness?
and I'll share some of what Sean had put together.
He did a report with the Economic Policy Institute, at least that's what he put out the other day.
He's calling it the inequality tax.
And this is why I get concerned when I see the urban hive mines all going for open communists,
open communists and socialist, socialist communists,
I kind of put them both in the same deal.
And I think that we are, we're kind of whistling past the graveyard.
It really is like going all these is crazy kids,
and they're never going to go anywhere.
Do you think they will?
Or is it or are we worrying too much about that right now?
I'll take your calls on that and a bunch more coming up.
This is the Bill Myers Show.
Fox News next.
At Oregon Westlumber, we logged mill and inventory.
More stimulating talk.
The Phil Myers Show on KMED, live from the Army Navy Marines Store Studio.
Call Bill now at 541-770-5633.
That's 770 KM.
E.D. Now more
with Bill Meyer. Hey, appreciate you being
here, open phones, heading into
the long Independence Day weekend.
And the one thing that economists
and people have been noticing
up above is that
in spite of the
250th anniversary, there's been
a lot of grumpiness going
on out there expressed in the middle
class. And I know that
what happens is that you have the
lefties that end up coming out there.
Well, it's
because we don't have the equality of outcome. No, we need socialism. And so we have Democratic
Socialists and Communists being elected. And I think that it would be a mistake to ignore the
trend or just think it's just a phase that the Democrats are going through. And I don't know
if you agree with me or not about this. And some of that grumpiness, I think it's worth talking
about. And I'm going to ask you, are you a grumpy member of the middle class? What is grumping
you out the most on this one?
because it is a real thing.
I'm not, but I'm not like everyone.
I don't pretend that I am.
I'm at this point in my life, and I'm very fortunate.
I've had a very steady job.
I've been at this job for a long time since 2001.
You know, Gus was going to 25 years now.
And I'm frugal, have a great cook at home.
I'm driving old paid for cars.
I refinanced my mortgage at 3%.
And I see two bedroom apartments going for more than my mortgage in Texas.
right now. So I'm very blessed. I understand there are a lot of people that are really
kind of grumped out over this thing. And it kind of goes back to what Sean Ring on the Daily
Reckoning was writing about, and it seems to be ignored a lot. It has to do with what the
Economic Policy Institute calls it, the inequality tax. And it has to do with the way that
finance has been set up in the United States, that people with assets, and I'm talking about
stocks or they invested in real estate early, things like that,
have ended up grabbing onto the majority,
the lion's share of the wealth in this country.
And that's why when people talk about, hey, look at the stock market,
this is just wonderful, we're going great guns,
except that most Americans don't do this.
Yeah, many have 401Ks, but it's not that way.
If the national wealth, as the national wealth was growing,
if just the middle class had kept up with it,
the typical family would have $18,000 more a year in income,
if it had just gone with the 3% that the wealth has been growing for years.
But what has been happening is that it is, well, essentially,
it's the sum of money, what they're calling the inequality tax is the sum of money
that the middle class never saw.
Not because Washington took it,
but because the distribution of gains,
that Sean Ring writes about, has been tilted toward the top.
And this is what he does.
He's a money guy, and I always pay attention to what the money guys say.
The top 1%, this according to the Congressional Budget Office,
the top 1% roughly doubled their share of after-tax income.
In 1979, they had 8% of the after-tax wealth.
In recent years, they're holding about 14%.
And the middle 3-5th saw their share fall.
Pugh's research puts it simply in 2022, upper income households earning 7.3 times as much as lower income households in 1970. That was 6.3.
So this is why even if you're working full time, and this is not about Trump, this has been a long-term trend.
This is not about Trump. I think Trump's trying to rework this very seriously, okay?
On wealth, though, it is starker. The federal representative,
The federal reserves data showing that the top 1% have 31% of the wealth.
The bottom 90% together hold roughly the same amount as the top 1% alone.
In other words, the top 10% holds about 70% of the country's wealth,
while the rest split the remaining 30%.
So America's middle class, their writing, is no longer the owner class.
The problem is when you get that kind of distribution,
when the distribution starts going all wonky.
And, hey, if you've been investing in Vindia, you're thrilled.
And then someone who's not on the other side is sitting there going,
hey, I'm really grumpy.
I can't pay for my health insurance.
You know, that's that sort of thing.
Where that concerns me, and once again, this is not about President Trump.
This has been going on since the 1970s, the late 60s, 1970s.
It's been a slow shift.
And it's been shifting this way for a long, long time.
All right. These are big systemic issues.
My concern is that it gives the socialists and communists ammunition,
and then people are willing to listen to this.
It doesn't matter that the ideas have never worked, and they have never worked.
But people will vote for that, won't they?
If you're grumpy for long enough, kind of like the Hitler phenomenon,
you'll vote for any demagogue that'll help make you feel better,
or it says that, you know, I'm going to have switched around.
I will take it from them.
I'm concerned that we could be getting very close to a shift in politics to retribution,
almost like a retribution.
And I'm wondering if you think I'm off my rocker to even be concerned about that.
That's one of the topics on my mind this morning.
Because once you're in, I'm not a member of that grumpy middle class.
There seem to be a lot of people that are, especially if you're a little younger.
Of course, I was grumpier when I was younger on that, too.
It was harder.
But I'd love to get your opinion on that if you do have an opinion on that.
770, KMED.
Whatever else is on your mind here, too.
If you're on hold, I'll be getting right to.
We'll get to everybody's call.
Hi, KMEDE.
Good morning.
Who's this?
Morning, Billy.
Hey, it's Scotty, professional Mercedes, Benzriver and Rancher.
Yeah.
So what are you thinking?
Hey, well, I'm thinking conspiracy.
I'm going to go into the woods here with conspiracy, you know, a pallet cleanser.
we have a woman working very hard right now on this
Colleen Roberts and widening the arteries
working with the state and the feds
and I did federal subcontracting and driving
for them and we absolutely
necessarily we absolutely have to
widen our arteries
when you say widen our arteries widen our arteries
widen our arteries what?
Well the roads the main roads
and I know
Gregory Roberts has got, and he's a friend of mine,
we side squash got it.
And anyway, up in the Bufal's area,
they are working very hard at A&B Medco Road up there.
Okay, and so, and how does this matter right now in your view?
Well, the conspiracy is that the other side, as we like to say, right,
the other side wants it all to just burn down.
But here's the thing, Bill, is with my plastics experience,
and business experience, I understand that the actual stumps can be squeezed out the resins to make
acrylic.
So that has not been done here, but can be done, and that's another thing I want to work on.
Okay, let's focus on one thing, all right?
Please, I'm trying to understand what is the point, okay?
Well, the other side wants the forest is to burn.
They don't even come down and walk and hike over here.
You know, they're maybe here for a little quick vacation and get a little surf.
So they fly over.
Government flies over, Bill.
You know, they'll be in a helicopter and fly over.
Oh, that looks like a healthy force.
They don't get down.
And I was talking to Colleen Roberts about that.
They don't get down and walk through the forest or try to, you know.
They just fly over in a helicopter.
Oh, that looks good.
And we have microclimates all around, too.
So anyway, I don't know.
I don't know if that any point in that.
And, you know.
Well, I'm always just trying to understand.
the point.
That's all.
Where is the middle class?
All right?
Yeah, where is the middle class?
I don't know.
Is there a middle class anymore?
You know?
Well, and that's why I brought it up, and because there is that feeling out there, and maybe
it's just totally anecdotal.
But I've kind of felt it where people seem to be really grumpy, a lot grumpier that I
would hope they would be.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All right.
Thank you.
Let me go to a next call here.
Hi, KMED.
Good morning.
Welcome.
Hello.
Okay.
You got to listen to the phone.
All right, let me go to Gene.
Hello, Gene.
I used to call you grumpy, Gene, but I don't anymore.
What are you thinking?
Well, you can always call me a rebel, but anyway.
Okay.
I wonder if they thought about the illegal babies,
if they would make a rule that if you come in as a not American citizen,
pop a kid, the kid has to be raised in America.
America with American values and language.
Oh, that would be very interesting.
All right.
So, well, I don't think there's anything in the law that says they have to do this,
but if you're going to have someone pop a kid in the United States, right,
subject to the jurisdiction thereof, and let's say you're the Chinese billionaire,
well, then the Chinese billionaire must raise that child in the United States is what you're getting at, right?
Yeah, that way they know America and they know how to have the values of America.
and not be taken back to a slave-comy country.
Yeah, except the challenge is that there's nothing in U.S. law that has made the United States prison
makes a United States citizen a prisoner of the country, at least not yet.
Although I know that Congressman Ron Paul was always worrying that a secure border would end up being turned into something that would keep us in rather than keeping them out.
All right.
But, Jean, point well taken.
Let me go to Brad.
Brad, you want to the way in on something. Go ahead.
Happy Fourth of July to the Patriotic and award-winning Bill Meyer.
Very kind. What's on your mind, Greg?
I'm sorry, Brad. We're just short on time. I want to make sure we get everybody in.
Not grumpy. I'm grateful. This is when we remember the common courage of the American.
A lot of people like the Star-Spangled banner.
Star-Spangled banner was actually written in the War of 1812, about 35 years after our Revolutionary War.
But you look at the courage and the consistent courage that just the average American has displayed over time.
And, boy, I'll tell you what, if that doesn't encourage you and give you something to be proud of, I don't know what to say, Bill.
What do you think?
Well, I think so.
I think, though, that we're – I think we're celebrating in America that's not necessarily that there now.
That's my only concern.
I think the metal – I think the metal M-E-T-T-L-E of the people of that era are pretty much is in shorter supply now.
agree or disagree with me on that? It's still there. You know, the thing is, is that there's what's
obvious and what gets promoted and pushed to the front of the line, but that really, really solid
rock is still in our country, Bill. There's still people there that are the backbone and the
spine of liberty and freedom, but they never make it on the mainstream news. That part,
I'll agree with you on. Okay. All right. Thanks, Brett. Let me go to next line.
here. It's open phones on conspiracy theory Thursday. Good morning. Who's this?
Good morning, Bill. It's Citizen Crabs. Hello, Citizen Crabs. Welcome.
Thank you. I think the disparity in wealth
from the 1970s, what, there might have been one or two, maybe ten billionaires,
and now there's nearly a thousand billionaires. They're the ones that are
buying up all the properties. They're the ones that are taking away
opportunities from the Gen Ziers, and everybody has to
rent now because the billionaires and the multi-millionaires are taking over a lot of these
opportunities. Now, let me ask you that. My concern is that the siren song of the socialists and
the communist candidates out there will feed on this. Will they not? Yes, they will. And that's
why the billionaires need to back off. I noticed that there were a bunch of tech, I noticed
there were a bunch of tech billionaires that were out there giving commencement speeches to Gen Ziers.
A few, and maybe it could have been Gen Alpha.
No, probably was Gen Ziers.
And they were being booed off the stage recently because they were talking about, like, the technology and the artificial intelligence,
and this is what is going to happen, and you're going to just live with this and this and that and the other.
And they were being booed off the stage.
I don't know if you caught any of that.
Right. I did catch it because they're very wealthy.
you know, God bless America, right?
The land of the free, home of the brave.
Here we have opportunity, but there's never enough for the billionaires.
I mean, there's literally a thousand billionaires in this country,
and there's 300 of them that live in California.
And so they're taking up all of the properties
and leaving the Gen Ziers with renting for the rest of their life
because they can't afford it.
I mean, the billionaires are giving them jobs, but yeah, so what?
It makes them more money, and it's never enough for them.
All right.
Appreciate the opinion.
Thank you for the call, Citizen Krebs.
KMED, good morning.
Hi, who's this?
Welcome.
Good morning.
This is Jim.
Point O'Valley.
How you doing?
Jim, great to have you.
What's on?
Well, the one thing you were talking about gropiness, I think that if you're back in a way
for a bit. There's two types of people. There's people that
there's a certain fear of failure, and
so they spend their lives trying to be safe.
And, you know, this world and this life
is full of risk. And these people are just
afraid to take that risk. And so
when they find themselves being left behind,
they're looking for somebody to blame.
And it's something that they need to just look in the mirror and, you know, reassess what they're doing.
And I think that there's people that are the most important thing to them is accumulation of wealth.
But there are other people that focus more on what money can't buy.
And they just, you know, you just have to have personal responsibility and realize that if you want,
wealth is what you want to do, then you have to do the things that will bring that to you.
If we are going to return to a personal responsibility society, Jim,
do you think that would mean then that we should be eliminating the, well, frankly,
the socialist programs that have been brought in since the progressive era,
such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, et cetera, et cetera.
or should we focus on if you're going to be talking about personal responsibility,
then really mean it?
Or should there still be a safety net?
What is your opinion on something like that?
Well, yes, there should be a safety net,
but that safety net has become a brick house.
Oh.
And soon or later, it encloses everybody,
which is, for instance, health insurance.
I remember when I was a youngster,
there was no health insurance.
There was hospitalization.
You don't need insurance to be when you're healthy.
You need it when you're unhealthy.
You need unhealthy insurance.
And it used to be called hospitalization when you broke your leg or...
Yeah, other than that, you paid the doctor.
You paid the doctor cash.
You went in paying.
Okay.
A point well taken.
Hey, Jim, appreciate the call.
770K.
If you're on hold, I'll get to your call.
We're taking open phones here as we wrap things up heading into the Long Independence Day weekend.
But, you know, I was talking about the grumpiness, which has been getting more and more reported on.
Yeah, I'm one of the people more grateful, but I want to be sympathetic if people are grumpy if they have the reason to be grumpy.
And where do you calm down on that?

By the way, I wanted to make a note that Saturday in Josephine County, they are doing their Fourth of July event.
I wanted to make sure you know about it.
About 45-minute program, reading the Declaration of Independence, Patriotic Songs, snacks, bring a chair if you want to sit during the program,
and just contact Josephine County Republican Party headquarters on 6th Street if you wanted to do any more or get some more information.
Judy Aaron's leading that.
I mean, good for her, all right?
let me grab a few more calls here before the news break here and let's go to glen glen r shambo i was talking about
grumpiness this morning and you know there seems to be a rising tide of grumpiness in the country
right about now economically and otherwise how are you weighing in or what are you thinking about that
go ahead well bill i i know there are millions of people literally in america that have had
their home or their land or whatever taken from them and treated very badly.
My family was one of them.
And so today I get a letter coming from Canada.
I know these guys are my friends, kind of.
Anyway, they're going to arrive here in the Rogue Valley on the 11th
and begin an intense scrutiny of the gas pipeline systems here in the valley.
An unusual event.
You don't see this happen very often.
And they're saying in the letter that you can walk right up to them and talk to them if you're not happy or if somebody did something to you, they want to hear it.
And that's really unusual.
And federal investigations, the NTSP is not out there taking calls, you know, when the plane crashes.
You don't get to go near anyone in these investigations.
But they're going to be here.
And so I'm going to be a good American bill.
And I'm going to urge people if the pipeline's on your land or in the neighbor's land, if you've got questions, ask.
them now. Now's the day. And you rarely see a day like this. This is really unique to see this happen.
That's a very interesting take. Thanks for the call. Let me go to Tom. Tom, you want to the way in. Go ahead. Hi.
Hello, Tom. All right. I thought we had Tom. Maybe not. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Welcome.
This is Tom here. Hey, Bill. Normally I call in with grumpy and disgusted, but, you know, it really was 1,000,
one things that are wrong with the country right now. But, you know, I look in, you know, stepping back a bit,
this may be the best that human consciousness is capable of creating a country. This may,
this may be it because of just the general level of human consciousness. And so I just call it in to
appreciate the good things that we can still can. And there's a lot that's still out there. I mean,
And most of us with TVs and cell phones and cars and so forth, we live better than Kings did back in the middle ages.
And that is something to take away and remember, and that's why I tend to be more grateful than grumpy.
But have you noticed the grumpiness too?
Hey, I am Mr. Grumpy that way.
I mean, too much.
But it really strikes me that this may be the best that we're capable of creating at this time.
now, I see greater visions ahead in the future, but just appreciate what we have.
We'll do. I appreciate that, Tom. Thank you. I think this is Steve. Hello, Steve. Did I hang up on you
accidentally? Yes, you did. Sorry about that. Apologies. Go ahead. Give me your tip, Tom.
All right, well, the economy is like a joint river with eddies and flows in it and little streams
coming in here and there. So the people
on the edges of the economy, young people today,
have a very hard time. I have three grandsons,
and they just really can't find any job other than being a
barista or a sous chef or something.
So those are some of the people, but my son,
who is 53, has a job with an international
company, and he's an engineer. He's a technical
person, and they're wanting him to justify his
job where they don't even know what he does. So he's trying to write a justification for his job.
And what's interesting is they pay the salespeople three times what they pay him. And he's the
person who has to take what the salespeople have sold and make it work when the salespeople don't
even understand what they're selling basically.
Interesting. Wow. Is that something systemic or just specific to his particular?
or field, I want to.
Well, I think it's kind of systemic, you know, as the wealth of the world goes up more to the,
to the, you know, the top edge of the stock market, the people who are controlling the economy
as far as what the stock market is doing, have less and less understanding of what really
is going on.
Yeah, it's a financialized economy right now.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Thank you, Steve.
I appreciate it.
Thanks for weighing in.
Amy D. Good morning. Who's this? Welcome.
Good morning, Bill. This is Brad with SLM.
Morning, Brad.
Hey, I'm sorry about the other day. My battery died on my phone when I tried to communicate.
Oh, that's okay. Go ahead.
Hey, I've got some information. I think you want to interview this guy.
He's written a book called Red Tsunami.
And his name is T. Casey Fleming.
He just speaks to many things you speak to on your...
your venue about the influence of others, especially right now the communist influence.
Because it's real, and I think that we'd be foolish to ignore this rise. I think it's more serious
than your standard Republican or Democrat is giving it credit for. Agree or disagree with me
on that? Oh, absolutely. And we're old enough to remember the cruise shift element, and he warned
the United States.
We're not going to get you with bullets.
We're going to get you with culture.
Yeah, exactly.
Good point.
And happy Independence Day.
All right, appreciate that.
If you're on hold, I will get right to you.

Welcome back to Take God Guess.
Okay.
We're now entering.
the speed round. Where's that crowd noise coming from? First question. What makes an existing building
pop even more when getting a new metal roof from Fontana roofing? Wait a minute, is this a trick
question? Five seconds. New siding from Fontana roofing. Yes. Next question. Most common phrase when
Fontana installs new siding and a roof on an existing building. It looks like a new building.
Correct. Also, this building looks fantastic. Would have been acceptable. Final question for the last
donut in the break room. In addition to a 14.
year warranty along with 14 configurations, including the ever-popular wood grain, board, and batten
style. How many siding color coatings are available in total?
25?
Oh, sorry, that is incorrect. We were looking for 26. We do, however, have a nice piece of advice
as a consolation prize. Visit fontanarruping.com.
Correct.

Ask yourself this question.
Is it really worth holding on to that time share that you know you need to get rid of?
Here's the truth.
The average maintenance fee.
just went up over 17%. That could have been 117%. And there's nothing you can do about it.
When you buy a timeshare, you give them a blank check for annual maintenance and assessment fees.
I'm Chuck McDowell, founder of Wesley Financial Group. For 15 years, I've helped over 50,000 families
cancel their timeshare, not sell it, not transfer it, cancel it. Did you buy a timeshare because
they told you it was a great investment? And your maintenance fees would never go up? That's a lie.
Are you ready to get rid of your time share once and for all?
Simply call us and I'll send you our timeshare exit kit that explains all your options for cancellation.

You're here in the Bill Myers Show on 1063 KMED.
It's 845 and we'll be back to your calls here in just a minute.
I want to do a quick shout here with Pastor Jim Ford,
and we've been giving away wonderful certificates for discount fireworks superstore,
all these locations here in Southern Oregon.
And it's just, well, Jim, I guess the reason it's so important to talk with you about this
is that discount firework superstore was actually founded to help,
to help youth in kind of Christian purposes, I guess, wasn't it?
Absolutely, yeah.
We started out with four pieces of plywood and blue tarp and a small,
intent to raise funds for our youth to go to camp, and we've been doing it ever since. So a lot of our
fundraising is for youth and youth ministries. We reach out to all youth ministries, Oregon and California.
So it's a pretty important deal. How many youth do you think now? Which organization did you do this
for your own church, I guess, right? Well, I do it for our own church, which is Pentecost of Church of
God, but we help all churches. We're not independent on our own movement. We help all youth go.
We help youth groups of churches many of times that we don't even know.
We find out they're trying to raise funds and we help them out.
We had one that was doing fireworks themselves.
They didn't raise enough money to send their kids where they needed to send them.
So we actually joined in with them and gave them the money they needed because they couldn't sell enough fireworks.
See, I know a lot of people probably didn't even realize that this was the basis or the founding,
how we ended up getting DFS, you know, coming to the Rogue Valley.
Yeah, and DFS does a lot of stuff besides Youth Ministry.
But youth ministry is our primary focus.
It's one thing that we'd love to do.
My son's a youth director and has been for 15 or 20 years,
and my other son was youth director over the whole Oregon district,
Pentecost Church of God, for many of years.
And so we're into helping kids.
We're into helping people, really.
I mean, but kids are a big part of that.
What would you call the health of Christianity in general?
I'm going to ask you a philosophical question about this,
because you're in a state which has been kind of unchurched
or is probably a very high-level.
level of unchurchiness. And you can kind of witness some of this in state policy.
Does it ever kind of make you go, gosh, what am I doing here? Or is this the reason you're here?
Yeah. Well, it's kind of interesting in Christianity, because you look at what's been going on
over many of years. If you go back in the last maybe eight, nine years, you've seen a real
decline in church and interest in church, especially among the youth, among the young adults and
the youth. But now today, we're seeing that just absolutely flip over and go the other direction.
changed? What do you think changed here, Pastor Jim? Well, it's really hard to say. You know,
when you play the common denominator of God, God's doing something with the young people.
I mean, without that, we could do whatever we want to make something change. It will never get
it to change. But I think people started crying out. Her prophecies many years ago from some
known prophets that this was going to happen in the short years to come, 10, 15 years out.
It's kind of a darkness before a dawn.
Could be.
Yeah.
Some people believe that.
They believe that they're going to break loose the great revival,
that some believe it's going to happen just prior to the Lord Jesus Christ coming back.
And one thing is the youth are accepting,
we need something different.
We're headed down a dead end street.
They're starting to see that at very young ages.
That where our country is going, where our mine is going,
where our people are going, where our youth are going,
is really a dead end street.
And they're not interested in going that way.
So they're looking for something.
And when you start to look for something, you'll always find Jesus.
I appreciate, though, what discount fireworks, a superstore and the various stores around here are doing.
This is what this is all about helping youth around here.
How many youth do you think that even just your booths, the booths that you've been running,
have been doing over the years to help if you were to put a number on it?
Well, it's really hard to put a number on because it varies throughout the work,
because we help them throughout the years, but there's hundreds.
And discount fireworks as a whole, probably a thousand, thousand or more,
just in one season will be helped to go to youth camps.
or other needs.
One thing we have to recognize,
you ask me a question about
why the youth are going in this direction
or going.
This is one thing we recognize
as discount fireworks
and in our own personal ministries
is that the youth,
they've been heading down
that dead end street,
and we have an opportunity
with the finances that God allows us
to make through discount fireworks
to help those youth along the path
that will keep them out of jail,
keep them off drugs,
and give us some good moral mindset,
if nothing else.
We would love to see them get in church
and give their heart to Jesus Christ
because we know there's no other way
to heaven except through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And the only way to get there is a born
again experience. The Bible very clearly says there's no other way. And then of course you're also
helping with a whole fun Rockets Red Glare, so to speak, right? You know, well, I guess we don't
have rockets. You know, you don't have rockets shooting up in the air. Everything is, you know,
is the safe and saying everything's all legal at a discount fireworks superstore. But there is a
bigger point behind the booths and the tents and everything else.
And I appreciate you sharing some of that.
Well, thank you.
Thank you.
We've got another thing going on tonight.
We're doing a get-together.
And this, again, is to help the young people, help the young adults, because young adults are raising kids.
And we learned something very far into our early in our ministry with discount fireworks that we've seen a lot of young people.
They would come to our booths to buy a box of poppice and some fire, a sparkler, maybe.
And that's all they could give their kids and they're standing with four kids, very young kids.
And that's the show they got to have because they couldn't afford it.
It's hard to make it out there.
So we decided what we'll do.
We'll put on a show for anybody that wants to come absolutely free.
And that way they can take their kids and their kids can see fireworks for free
rather they can afford it or not.
Okay.
So this is tonight.
That's tonight.
Is this at all the discount fireworks?
No.
At most of our fireworks booths, they're having a drawing tonight and they go to those booze if that's the one they shop at.
And we're not competitors.
We're not competing with one another.
We're a group working together.
That's the way the body of Christ is supposed to be, really.
So where is this going to be going on?
Okay, so the show itself is going to be out in White City.
It's at Wilson's equipment.
It's the best way to find.
You can't miss it.
It's a huge tent.
This is the largest fireworks tent.
As far as I know, on the West Coast, it's big.
It's a big tent.
What time?
About 9, 10?
Yeah, we say it starts at 8, but at 8 o'clock, we start giving them free hot dogs, free soda pops.
You get a set around listening to music for a while.
But in reality, you don't see fireworks.
It'll get dark.
So around 9 o'clock.
Okay.
930.
Sounds good to me.
Pastor Jim Ford once again, discount fireworks Superstore. Thanks so much.
Thank you.
And have a great show tonight.
I appreciate it. It's kind of a nice little early show.
Yeah, we have big crowd. We get like 350 people showing up for that show.
I'll bet you will. So it's going to be nice.
Have fun, Pastor. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Good talk. It is 852 at KMED and KBXG.
I know that hiring can be challenging.
Best.org. Hi, I'm LeMont from Orleys, and I'm on 106.7, KMED.
Glad to have you here. It is 854. The final few minutes.
It's, by the way, I will be on just a holiday break tomorrow, just for one day.
I'll be back on Monday.
And whoever's filling in for Larry O'Connor, it's going to be filling in for me then.
And let me go to Gregory, Gregory's and Shady Co.
We were talking about Independence Day weekend, Gregory.
What's on your mind, huh?
Go ahead.
Well, first off, I wanted to thank you for presenting me with the grill, and it's a lovely grill.
And if anybody else is using them, that they're going to be great.
Yeah, because I gave you one of those.
Gordon Ramsey Secret Service grills a couple of weeks ago.
I'm glad.
Have you used it yet?
Have you enjoyed it?
Yes.
We did that.
We did that.
And then we're going to be using it again this weekend.
We whatever test fired it.
And it just goes, put about 25 bricks in there.
And it lights right up.
And it just lasts for just enough time to cook up a couple anything.
What are you going to be cooking on it?
Just curious.
We're going to do some fish this weekend because we stopped over to this.
at that other place, the shrooms,
and got some fish over there.
Good for you.
Yeah.
And so he gave all the fireworks away, right?
Well, I do have one certificate for discount fireworks superstore left.
Oh, for me.
So you want the fireworks to go with the grill?
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
Hang on, Gregory.
Hang on for a couple of minutes.
I just want to.
That's me, true.
You know, I got to tell you, you know,
it's amazing. Gregory is pretty good at working that. It's an 856. Hi, KM.D., good morning. Who's this?
Hey, Bill. This is Darren. I just had kind of a thought that may be unified thread in what we're talking about this morning.
Sure, what's that? Well, you were talking about the kind of, why are people grumpy? Yes.
And I think it's multifaceted. I think the economic piece is one piece for sure. I think the other piece, kind of,
ties in with what the pastor was talking about a little bit ago. And that's the, it used to be
that we understood what it meant to love thy neighbor. And now because everything has gotten
different and we've gotten disconnected from our Christian roots. And also, I would dare say that
the United States society has been more atomized. Right? We don't have the same roots.
in maybe a sense of place? Could that be what we're challenged?
Yeah, I think that is coming into play and maybe to what the pastor was saying,
maybe the younger people are starting to realize, wait a minute, this ain't working.
You know, it's all about me is, you know, going to create chaos.
I have great faith in the future when I hear about youth that are saying,
you know, this isn't working. And there is a, you know, a better way.
to move forward.
And that's where I pray we take it
because there do appear to be storm clouds at the moment.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Appreciate the call, and thank you for making that.
Really do, okay?
It is 858 in change.
I only have a few seconds left here.
And you know how Gregory ended up
getting a discount fireworks
Superstore certificate out of me?
After I already gave him a grill,
well, they'll tell you what I'm going to do.
I'd like to give you one more of these Fox 26, Gordon Ramsey's Secret Service.
