Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Myers Show podcast is sponsored by Clouser Drilling. They've been leading the way in southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Clouser Drilling.com. 14 after eight, Dr. Dennis Powers, retired professor of business law, returns to the program. Dennis, welcome back. How was your weekend? Pleasure, my friend.
Starting point is 00:00:19 How was your weekend? Busy, lots of research, lots of writing, reading and arithmetic. We're all busy. Listen, how have you been? Well, I did nothing. I was a bump on a log this weekend. Well, Bill, I think your listeners know about how busy you are with everything from going ahead and making sure that transmission towers are working to going ahead and being and sending a high bar for the rest
Starting point is 00:00:46 Of us who've been long long married. Oh, well, let me tell you When you have a hundred and one hundred and two degree temperatures I didn't feel like being out me in the yard as you can well imagine and so I ended up I slept I slept like nine almost ten hours. I slept ten hours yesterday on Sunday. I never do that ever 10 hours, I slept 10 hours yesterday on Sunday. I never do that, ever. Well, you know, your schedule when you think about it, you know, when you're on from 6 to 9 and how early you get up and making sure that the programs go very efficient and have everyone lined up and watching over all your guests, I really can attest that you are a very busy person.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Well, that is very kind of you. The one thing I did have to deal with though is that, did you get any power shutoffs over the weekend coming from Pacific Power? Actually, yes. But on the other hand, at times it's with the smoke that's come through, and in the morning, you know, I'm up early like you do getting things done, and just the smoke and the acrid, I'm sure your listeners are feeling the same way. It's different for starters.
Starting point is 00:01:58 Now, what I ended up getting was we got the last minute call, Pacific Power called our home and said, we're going to shut the power off at 11 o'clock and it's gonna be off till 9 a.m. Sunday and I'm thinking wow that boy in the radio oh yeah fortunately we had no stations go down and then it only they only had it off for like three hours it was 1230 or so that they kicked it off and then they brought it back at 330 other people had some different scheduling but it was an emergency line repair and I guess if you're going to do it middle of the night on Sunday mornings probably better than during the work week I suppose. So I guess that
Starting point is 00:02:35 worked out okay. Our problems here in downtown Ashland is the fact that we have dead squirrels or a bird that gets fried. Really? And it takes care of everything. An occasional car that swerves out of control. All right, well I'm glad to know that. The one thing I have done though is that I made the executive decision to purchase a new generator and I ended up buying a generator for remember the old Y2K scare 1999 going into that absolutely I've been thinking the same thing did you get a generaq no I ended up getting a different a different brand but yeah all right generaq of course the thing is though generaq tends to make a lot of the generators under
Starting point is 00:03:27 different brand names too. So, but they're very good. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, very good. They sometimes get rebadged. Well, I purchased a 3,500 watt Craftsman, I want to say in 1999, it was like fall of 1999 going into Y2K, thinking about 2000. I was living in Phoenix at that point. And it has been a great generator. I mean, I hardly have any hours on it really, maybe 20 or 30 total. And I changed the oil religiously and I've kept it in good shape. The only thing I would say about it is that it's been dead set reliable, but it's loud as hell. I mean, it really. And back then though we weren't dealing with as many
Starting point is 00:04:10 power outages, whether it's you know wildfire safety induced or whether it's sustainable grid, in other words intermittent power induced. We didn't have as much of that then so I didn't get a lot of use. But I've decided now that I have freezers and various other things I want to keep going, I wanted to get another generator that was quieter. Ones that you can let run in the backyard and it's not going to wake up your neighborhood, you know, that kind of thing. So I ended up getting one of those. I'll tell you how it works out, okay? Oh, okay. And someday I need to get your input in terms of what you think about that four-patriots generator that has solar panels as to what you think about that. I've been
Starting point is 00:04:56 looking into it and been holding off just because I don't know really how well they work. Well, there's absolutely nothing wrong with solar backup power. My only question is though, is can it provide the needs that you want? Because it's surprising how much solar panels it would take to charge up even your 900 watt backup battery if you're going to do something like that, you know, consistently. That's an excellent point, especially given the fact is when the power is out, if it's a storm, you better have a lot of stored juice that's inside. Yeah, some stored juice. I would say that, well, what I liked about the generator that I ordered is that it has its dual fuel, its propane and Gasoline and I like that part about it because The beauty you're not worried about they having any sour gas left in it or you're gassing up for longer outages
Starting point is 00:05:54 Great, go ahead and pour in the stored gasoline But otherwise propane stores forever and it's easy to store and I like that part about it So I'll let you know how that works out. Yeah, I look forward to it. Yeah, anyway 20 minutes after 8 talking with Dr. Dennis Powers. We haven't even gotten into where Pass meets President right now. Got a caller? It's fun to talk about. Yeah, let's see what we got going on. Hi, who's this? Good morning. You're with Dr. Powers. Hey Steve, go ahead. What's up? Okay, those generator things they call generators aren't generators, they're batteries, the Patriot deals.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And you well know the formula for electricity, amps times volts equals watts. Yep. Absolutely. So when they're advertising something as watts, divided by the voltage that you want to know, and then you have to know how many amps you need in your house, those batteries will run a refrigerator for maybe 20 minutes. And you know what's so funny is that all I'm looking for is to keep my computer going so I can, but then of course the internet is out.
Starting point is 00:07:03 It's an interesting discussion and Bill has led the way. Okay well I'll tell you why don't we pick that up a little later okay Steve we'll do that. Okay. All right yeah like I said those those what are those things those Jack Walker things or there's like some little generator and they call them their generators really what they are is a big lithium ion or lithium lithium iron phosphate you know battery of some sort and yeah they'll hold a certain amount but you have to have energy to put back in it at some point that's all all right so ideally it's getting me at least thinking a little bit more strategically because obviously
Starting point is 00:07:45 Dr. we're going to be having more and more of these outages in our sustainable developed southern Oregon. Oh, isn't that cool the way they use that term? It's so sustainable. We are working so hard to decarbonize Oregon's power grid that you're going to have to have lots of carbon-based fuels stored to make sure that you don't freeze in the winter or roast in the summer. So there we go. Hey, Doc, let's talk about a time in which there were more sensible people alive, and
Starting point is 00:08:16 that is when Cave Junction was founded. That is our historical profile for today. How did that all come to be? And you know Bill, this is a very interesting one. You know as I get close into it, that we first, this is talking about the Illinois Valley. We had gold mining was an important factor that we saw in terms of sailor diggings. But it was the Oregon Caves that set up, of course, Cave Junction. And this goes back over 150 years ago to our good friend Elijah Davidson. And when did he actually discover those caves? Although the Native Americans knew about it long before that, I guess, right? Yes, yes. But they always stayed away from it because there was bad juju.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And 1874, but the story there was really interesting because after he had shot a deer, and this is Bill, really deep in the mountains, very, very, very secluded, he followed his dog to a large hole in the mountain and when good old Elijah Davidson peered into the darkness and lit match after match, he saw all of the caverns and the silhouettes with the stalactites and the stalagmites, which are hanging up and hanging down like icicles. But then he waited outside, his dog came out, and he waited and slept there, you know, just oh, maybe about 10 or 15 feet away, left the deer carcass there, and the big, huge bear came out, and he shot it, and so he got his bear.
Starting point is 00:09:57 But it was determined that acidic rainwater, and boy, this really, as Judy then told me, my friend, are you sure you want to drink that diet Pepsi, which is carbonic acid and the carbon dioxide that when it liquefies into carbonic acid, that this acidic rainwater from the ancient forest above had dissolved the underlying marble to create one of the really rare marble caves, among caves in the world. I mean, there's just amazing raw beauty within there, you know, nature's sculpture down there, right? Absolutely right. And then Taft, President Taft, And then Taft, President Taft in the early 1900s designated about the 500 acre Oregon Caves as a national monument. But you see, it was still so remote that you didn't have any commercial cave tours in the
Starting point is 00:10:59 1920s. Yeah, when did they end up? I guess it probably took then building the highway to that area, and when did that occur? About how far or how long ago? Yes, actually it was over a hundred years ago, 1922, but what was interesting though is that that's at Oregon Highway 46 that goes up from the Redwood Highway, so you had both of them that had to be coming in. But then what was interesting was a private public deal where Grants Pass
Starting point is 00:11:30 businessmen financed the building of the lodging and staff in running the resort while the National Park Service did the oversight and infrastructure, cave lighting, trails, water system, things like that. You know, I didn't realize that the city of Grants Pass had to do with the development of that at first. That's interesting. Well, not the city, but business people there, right? Yeah, and you know, more than likely you would have had some of them involved with the city, but this was individual businessmen, and you could even see, if we fast forward, where our Oregon senators are
Starting point is 00:12:07 certainly not doing what they should, perhaps because one of them is just still living in New York City, in terms of getting monies to allow the total reconstruction of the chalet. And in that, they've been trying to remodel it since 2018've been doing uh... trying to uh... you know remodel it since twenty eighteen and still they're trying to write they've been private entities are trying to raise the money is to complete that so even though cave junction my friend then became incorporated if you could believe
Starting point is 00:12:39 it is uh... very late nineteen forty eight and you have the cave Junction name that came in. You still have right now where there's no food there, you can still have tours, you can still, but you've got to be sure when you get on the website, don't just go off like I used to be able to with Judy. You're much better off to go ahead and see about getting a reservation. Apparently in Cave Junction you can also do it, but you're better advised to go ahead and look at it and to make sure that there's an opening for your reservation. The one thing I will say about Cave Junction is that they have really, in my opinion, done a great
Starting point is 00:13:16 job of cleaning the town up a little bit. I don't know if you've experienced it or gone out to the coast anytime recently, but there was a time in which I would dare say the drugs and the opiates and things were the only reason it seemed like the area seemed to exist. And there's still a lot of that going on there. We know that between the legalization of cannabis and all the rest of it. But now there is talk about finally tearing down that old hotel, you know, down there by the stoplight. And I think that, in fact, I think that a deal was cut or
Starting point is 00:13:54 they're finding someone that's going to, you know, get rid of that. But still the downtown area in Cave Junction in general is just looking brighter and a little cleaner, a little better camped. And I just admire what they're trying to accomplish out there by the caves. That's an excellent observation. And you're right, because I can remember, because I've been here for about 35 years. And I can remember what it was when I was first with Judy
Starting point is 00:14:17 doing the exploring around here. And then the way it was when I'd go down, actually, the Redwood Highway to head down into eventually uh... gold hill uh... i'm in cold beach to go ahead and uh... do salmon fishing out there in the ocean with a friend but uh... you're right uh... there has been some really major work done down there i think also as you're pointing out so well the legalization of cannabis was helpful in one way but then of course the actions of the city folk
Starting point is 00:14:50 was certainly important point as you've brought out. Yeah it's not you know I'm not surprised at all when you end up getting that report that Cave Junction guy with a big illegal grow there's a lot of that that goes on there too. So there's good and good and not so good depends on it but we'll work through it. Hey Doc, we'll put that up there. The founding of Cave Junction, like I said, I never realized that the Oregon Caves got its start really as the attraction with the business people in Grants Pass, and no doubt they're looking at this as tourism too, attracting more people that go through Grants Pass, go to to Cave Junction, right? Absolutely, along
Starting point is 00:15:25 with the fact that with the Redwood Highway and then after and also the Collier Tunnel, you had the ability of folks that would come through Grants Pass from California and then head down to the coast. All right, very good. Hey Doc, let's talk about the news and more coming up here in just a bit, okay? All right. You got it. All right, 829 KMED where past meets present. This is the Bill Meyers show We've all done it you approach your vehicle and see a scratch or a ding grimace and think that's new. When did that happen? Well, that's likely to always remain a mystery But there's no question lithium body and paint is the place to make it go away
Starting point is 00:16:01 Lithium body and paint knows having your vehicle in perfect condition is important to you. So if your eye is often drawn to that blemish, bring it to us. Often, minor dents and scratches are easy and affordable to fix. Service, speed, accuracy. That's Lithia Body and Paint on Bullock Road in Medford. Two dogs fabricating are fabulous
Starting point is 00:16:20 at fabricating what you need to get the job done this summer. For example, if you're in the fire suppression business, the dogs custom build aluminum top mount forestry racks for vans to carry firefighting gear. And if your RV or camp trailer needs any hitch or tongue repair during camp season, Two Dogs can fix those puppies. They also build custom diamond plate battery boxes for extra protection and style. Two Dogs Fabricating on Bryan Way off Sage Road in Medford. Visit twodogsfab.com. Brainstorming continues at the offices of Fontana Roofing
Starting point is 00:16:53 in their quest to promote their new metal roof manufacturing division. Whoa, little early for that. Whoops, sorry, I'm looking for music for our new metal roofing and siding commercial. Whoa! A little early for that! Whoops. Sorry, I'm looking for music for our new metal roofing and siding commercial. I'm really getting into it. That was music? Maybe we should just serve up these straight facts.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Like, uh, just say Fontana Roofing is manufacturing metal roofing and siding for contractors and do-it-yourselfers without the screeching guitar and incoherent lyrics? Yeah, and add that Fontana will manufacture everything you need on site. Roofing, siding, gutters, trim, gables. They'll even deliver the screws. We're the one-stop shopping of metal roofing. The whole kit and caboodle. Can I at least throw in a guitar riff and maybe Bruno Barking?
Starting point is 00:17:38 If you must. Fontana Roofing is manufacturing metal roofing and siding. Call Fontana Roofing for your next metal project. Visit FontanaRoofingServices.com. Over 70% of Oregon's wildfires are started by people. One careless spark can destroy all that we love. It doesn't take much for a wildfire to ignite and spread quickly across our state's beautiful landscape. Everyday activities like mowing the grass or driving your car can spark a wildfire. Be extra careful this summer. Check weather conditions, follow posted fire restrictions, and keep fire tools on hand

Starting point is 00:18:49 Honestly provocative talk with Lars Larsen. It kind of came about a funny way. Donald Trump was just coming off that successful strike against Iran that whether you believe CNN or not actually did serious damage to Iran's nuclear program. I think we set them back by years. And that's the conclusion of the White House, the IDF in Israel, and of course the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Lars Larsen, weekdays noon to three on KMED. This is the Bill Maier Show on 1063 KMED. And it's where past meets present. Dr. Dennis Powers, retired professor of business law at Southern Oregon University. Now we're going to be talking about some of the news this morning. Hey doc, welcome back. And what I'm kind of wondering about is over the weekend, New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, otherwise known as AOC, and they're talking about, that she defamed president Trump by calling him a rapist on social media.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Does that hold water in your view as an attorney here? What do you think? Sure does. And Bill, you know, here we have New York City, which used to be a wonderful place to visit, but now with Mamabani and Epstein, with AOC and their riots. It certainly is not the place to go to the Big Apple right now, and as a matter of fact, it's pretty rotten. But in terms of AOC, it's just what Stephanopoulos did with ABC for a $16 million settlement
Starting point is 00:20:18 because first of all, there was that trial where Trump was convicted, apparently, of sexual assault, which is still being appealed. And then all- That was what? E. Jean Carroll, right? That case? Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:33 You're right. Right. And then there's the defamation suit for five million that came from there. All this showing how corrupt New York City is. And with AOC going ahead, and really, she is not only stupid, she's very much like Jasmine Crockett, and just loved all the attention of flipping off whatever it is that she says. And this one, when you look at the New York Times decision that set, which was very liberal at the time, on defaming public officials, where you need to almost show malice, in this particular
Starting point is 00:21:14 case, Trump certainly still has the legal right to go after AOC. The question is, how will he do it? Okay. And now, if she had done this, she could say something like that, although it would be unbecoming, and she might be censured as a congressperson to say this. You're protected from what I understand, from what you say as a congress critter while you're testifying on the floor. You can say whatever you want just about, and it can be bad and they can censor you if they don't like it but you know that's kind of protected speech but if you're doing
Starting point is 00:21:51 this on your social media doesn't that kind of lever open honestly for defamation and you're absolutely right that is the distinction and the the fact that this was posted on social media and others came into it uh... i would really hope that there is pressure put on her because she's a loose cannon and all she wants to do is to be the vice president of the
Starting point is 00:22:17 governor newsome newscum uh... you know who is a card-carrying communist the whole party is lurched to the left so you can spell Democratic with a K, forget the C. And AOC is there really saying it. And you know, she is doing exactly what was she, a bartender before she was able to find this scam that she's doing where even the authorities have had to go down the street. Well, you know, I think she was known as Sandy on the block at that time or something, like kind of like a J.Lo existence.
Starting point is 00:22:50 But I'm just having fun. But be that as it may though, seriously though, she's opened herself up on this one. I guess the point is, would it be better for Trump just to leave it be if you were, because the thing is, I think there may be a case only because there's obvious malice here and that's where yeah you can accuse a public figure the higher bar for defamation is certainly in play with a with the president but you'd have to say that there's malice involved here wouldn't there absolutely and that's with the fact that we've already seen what has happened before with ABC. And you're right. The other thing, Bill, though, is that here both Jasmine Crockett and AOC are not representing
Starting point is 00:23:34 their districts. They're just flipping off because they love all the publicity. And the problem here with AOC, Trump goes after her publicly and she says, oh look, I've been sued. This is terrible. And she'll have this platform because this is how the Democratic with the K Party has changed. So it's a difficult decision as to what could go. They might just wait a little bit.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Okay, well if you were advising the president, would you say go ahead and go after her or not? Better leave it be. I would say, first of all, before you do this, have the FBI do some investigating, period, as to what else she's been doing, like how has she been funding these rioters, but hold off and get some of these major things done, you know, such as the tariff deals, and then at the right time come in. All right.
Starting point is 00:24:31 In other words, don't get distracted by this right now. OK. Good point. All right. That sounds like a reasonable way to approach that here. The one challenge I think President Trump has had with his personality, he's a little pugilistic, I think you have to admit that, that sometimes the ability to pick and choose fights has not always been his strong suit. Would you agree he just fights everybody?
Starting point is 00:24:53 I would say that's true. I have to say for me it is so refreshing the way that he comes out with his one-liners and he is not only just refreshing, I mean, you know, some of them like, nobody loves me like I love me, and nobody does it better. I mean, he's able to poke fun, and so people are able to go ahead and enjoy more comedy than, of course, they could, they could, and eat could need the Obama Biden Civil War regimes. All right now that of course is a kind of a laughable situation with the AOC tweet over the weekend or post here. Let's put on something that or switch over to something which is kind of serious as a heart attack because
Starting point is 00:25:38 President Trump was definitely doing a lot of social media posting over the weekend and urging his supporters to move on. Nothing to see here with the Epstein files. And a lot of folks are saying, you know, we're not real comfortable with this. And some people are going after Bondi, but I would have to say that one way or the other, Bondi, Cash Patel, and Dan Bongino, none of them would be putting out anything without the bosses okay. So let's be clear about that, right?
Starting point is 00:26:09 I mean, you have to figure these people are not freelancers in their jobs. Yeah, and you see, part of it, if you read his posts on it and take a look to what he is really saying. He's made some very good points about it because, for example, why give publicity to the files that were written by Hillary, Obama, Brennan, and Biden? And I kept thinking about Hillary Clinton. Now Bill Clinton is the one that had, according to numbers of different media reports, some 27 different episodes, if you will. Oh, well he had a frequent flyer ticket there on Epstein's Pervert Island, you know, no doubt. He did. Pervert Island Airlines. And so then I
Starting point is 00:27:09 thought, oh wait a minute, Crooked Hillary. Hillary, who is probably one of the most evil people to ever get involved in politics, think about all the things that she has managed to shake off, such as 30,000 emails that she was able to destroy along with her server at her home. And I get that. Okay, it came fruit of corrupt people. But of course, the whole system is a little bit corrupt there. But everyone has been talking right from the beginning, including President Trump there,
Starting point is 00:27:43 we're going to put this stuff out. And now all of a sudden to say that we've had this list, we have this list, we're editing this list, we're redacting this list, etc. We're removing the names of the victims, etc. And then all of a sudden have it go to, well, there is no list and there's nothing to go. And yes, he killed himself. It strains crudility and it sounds like people have been told to take a dive, is what it looks like. You been told to take a dive is what it looks like You'd have to agree right they were they were stand trapped on that because I think they really felt that there was evidence That they could have used and they probably had in there inside the FBI office
Starting point is 00:28:21 And there should be some firings done here my friend FBI office and there should be some firings done here, my friend, and also the Secret Service. But what harm could be done by just putting everything out that you have? What could be wrong with that? Well, I think first of all, it's the stacked files that when all of a sudden in New York where you had the FBI district that, you that uh... you know our attorney general cut entrapped on course he said she was going and was going to have that to in office from the new york city office and i'll bet you that when she got it she found a lot of things that had to do
Starting point is 00:28:56 with trump that was there uh... with the way new york city was going after trump and so they got caught in a very bad thing but the other thing which is interesting bill it really is is if we when your listeners and yourself and when i did to get into all the facts there as to you know who was involved you say oh no they're right. I remember that. There's now over 20 lawsuits against Epstein's estate by women who have come up, and this is a feeding frenzy by the attorneys, where they're saying that they were trafficked. I'm not minimizing that. Yeah, and I'm not either, but remember, this stuff is not anonymous or shouldn't be considered anonymous. JPMorgan Chase, the big bank, ended up falling on its sword a number of years
Starting point is 00:29:55 ago over facilitating the financial transactions for Pervert Island and whatever you want to call it with Jeffrey Epstein, and ended up paying off hundreds of millions of dollars to people. So to say that, well, we don't have any perpetrators, we only have victims. It doesn't ring though. No, it doesn't. And that's an excellent point. So let's follow that. I am almost positive that Bill Gates's attorneys, Prince Andrew's attorneys, you go all the way through Cameron Diaz's attorney, you have these including
Starting point is 00:30:38 Victoria Secret, the estate owner of that, Alan Dershowitz. He was Epstein's lawyer. Well, and he said, hand over his heart there, like swear to God, that yeah, that list exists, it's out there, and that this is being done to protect the powerful. That's what Dershowitz claims, right? Absolutely. And you see, I am sure that's right, because here's the thing. If you and I were advising President Trump, let's say you were, would you say, okay, put out the list and show that Bill Gates was a loved young woman, put out that Bill Clinton with hilarious, with Hillary, evil Hillary
Starting point is 00:31:20 was out there and Bill Clinton definitely is going to be sued over this. Their attorneys have already gone ahead and talked to Trump's attorneys and then as to the fact that, no, I don't think you want to do it. I think it might be better politically to hold off if you can. Well then why not say that rather than saying, you know, there's just nothing to see here and move along and why are we still talking about this guy that's still dead? Good question, I think because that's politics. Because one of the things I've been seeing over the decades is that in politics you never tell what's actually
Starting point is 00:31:58 going on. You see if there's some lever you can use down the road. And then when you go through this, I mean, this is really incredible, Bill. I'm wondering about Macron's wife, because one of the things to look into is this French modeling agent, this John Luke Brunel, and he was accused of rape,
Starting point is 00:32:22 and he committed suicide. And all of a sudden we have a lawsuit I'm not going to change the subject but this is I'm just so curious about this. France, French's court system on appeals said that it is not defamation to say that Macron's wife was a man. And if you go into this, you know, it is... These are stories on Netflix. These are stories that would be a best-selling book, except people are ending up dead. Yeah, with Alexander, with Alex Acosta though, who was of course was in
Starting point is 00:33:04 in labor in the first Trump administration, when he told them that, listen, I was told to go light on Epstein because he belongs to intelligence, whose intelligence do you think it is? Well, you know, I think it certainly would reflect on Brennan. And it certainly would reflect in terms of Obama and the way that they're trying to come up with this with the podcasts of, look, we're just really average people, BS. All right. Well, let me switch it just for one more thing, because like I said, it's very unsatisfying for a lot of Trump supporters then.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Do you think Comey and Brennan have a chance of actually being taken down and actually indicted over what happened? I see this as being a prolonged controversy, and I doubt if we're going to be...the way that they were to handle they being the far left radical Democratic Party, I don't think I'll see that in the light of day as to these people getting what they deserve. I guess, see, this is the concern where I think a lot of people have, is that, you know, Trump ran on getting rid of the two-tiered justice system, and this would feel, you know, the, you know, all the perverts on Pervert Island with the underage kids being abused there
Starting point is 00:34:28 on Epstein's Island, getting away with it, is a continuation of the... Well, you know, some people are just too big to indict, and that gets a little concerning, wouldn't you say? Yeah, I understand that argument very closely, but the two questions that leap into my mind is one that states that what's more important, to have Trump in there or to go ahead and have the chameleon in Kamala? Well, I think what's most important is to find out who actually runs this country. I think that on the second question as to who runs this country. I mean, is it government intelligence, whether it's Israel or CIA or something, or is it
Starting point is 00:35:09 the elected people? And you know what happens, this Epstein thing puts in doubt of who's actually in charge of running this country. Yeah, no, I understand the arguments by real conservative people, and I certainly support them on that feeling. I felt the same way. But feelings I don't think are the same thing as who would you rather have? The chameleon and have this this country be totally side-swiped into socialism or Trump? And I think you got to pick your winners and losers. It
Starting point is 00:35:41 doesn't taste good to me, but it's a hell of a lot better, my friend, than going ahead and seeing the Obamas, Clintons, and the Socialists with Newscum in there. Much better, but that's just my feeling. I'm just one. That's why I asked you. Okay. Hey, Doc, I appreciate it. We will talk next Monday, okay? You have a great day, and maybe go out and play some bridge and do nothing important, okay? You have a great day and maybe go out and play some bridge and do nothing important, okay? All right. A little bit of open phone time if you wanted to join in. 770-5633-770-KMED. An interesting story that I was reading in the epic times over the weekend that I think is worthy of note. And it had to do with autism. I know that we have RFK Jr. who's talking about getting to the bottom of the cause of autism, some possible treatment where we could be going. And many people have been thinking, okay, it's vaccines. And there are other studies that are indicating that it could be, well, yeah, there could be vaccine impact on something like this.
Starting point is 00:39:45 it could be, well, yeah, there could be vaccine impact on something like this, but for some, it could be genetic and environmental. And great story about a study, epictimes.com, autism reversal in twin girls through lifestyle and environmental changes. A growing body of evidence suggesting personalized medicine and diet have a significant impact on numerous conditions, including the autism spectrum disorder. And this is about a case study that looked at a pair of fraternal twins, two girls, two four-year-olds, and they had level three severity autism, and the twins were diagnosed about 20 months of age there. And these fraternal twins, of course, had these issues, and they needed great care. And after the diagnosis, the twins' parents started a comprehensive personalized approach
Starting point is 00:40:40 to address their daughter's conditions, holistic, non-pharmacological, which I thought was interesting, and they did all sorts of things, understanding the twins, understanding the total allostatic load concept, linking chronic stressors in the environment to disease, and they used resources such as webinars and forums, and they made some dietary changes too, reducing the excitatory, inflammatory diet. And they eliminated glutamate, gluten, casein, sugar, artificial colors in processed foods, and they focused on organic, fresh, home-cooked meals from local sources. And they also incorporated a bunch of dietary supplements. Girls took supplements that included omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and homeopathic remedies. And they
Starting point is 00:41:31 also differentiated that they found out that there were genetic differences between the two fraternal twins. That one twin needed more vitamin D while the others needed more support for neuroinflammation and detoxing. And they were finding great improvement so I thought this was something really interesting. Environmental. It's 855 and change. Let me see if we can grab a call before end of the show. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Welcome. Hey, good morning. Keith out of Cave Junction. Hey, Keith. Hey hey we were just talking about your town today. What's up? It is in regards to the chateau at the cave. Yes. You can, you can peer into some of the windows
Starting point is 00:42:28 of the chateau. It's obviously unavailable. It's been completely stripped down to the studs interior-wise. And when I talked with one of the Rangers, the foundation is in good shape. But it needs to be retrofitted to a 9-0 earthquake rating, which makes my eyebrows rain. Yeah, that could be a real challenge. Sure. In 1964, when that flood knocked that building off the foundation a little over 10 feet downhill, it was then subsequently pulled back on top of its foundation using anchor chains and tubes. The story is available. What's interesting is when you look inside you can see evidence of that event where the building was knocked down downhill suddenly. The floorboards in some places are stretched out where you see gaps where the craftsmen didn't leave gaps when it was first built.
Starting point is 00:43:34 It's fascinating just to look what that event did to that building and how that building, the way it was built. Hey, thank you for that positive wrap-up of that here, Keith. And hey, be well, all righty? Take care. All righty. It's A58 and change. The only reason here is that, hey, we can continue that conversation except Mark Lee Van Camp and Robbins are coming up. And I turn into a pumpkin.
Starting point is 00:44:10 You know how that goes here. My email bill at BillMeyersShow.com. We'll talk more about it tomorrow on Pebble in Your Shoe Tuesday. Thanks for listening. American Industry.
