Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Myers Show podcast is sponsored by Klausur drilling. They've been leading the way in Southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Klausordrilling.com. It's amazing what you can find on the Internet, as you well know at this point. We talk about it a lot. Social media apps are quite interesting and continuing to explode in popularity, but there's a new one out called Whiz, and they've nicknamed this Tinder for kids. In other words, it's a hookup app, I should say, you know, hooking up for sex, apparently.
Starting point is 00:00:36 And I wanted to talk with, I mean, what could go wrong with something like this? But Haley McNamara is Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. And Sexual Exploitation.org's the website. Haley, interesting story here. I've never heard of WIS until I got you notice the other day. What's the story? Yeah, it's shocking. You hear the phrase Tinder for Kids, and you can immediately see what would go wrong,
Starting point is 00:01:03 but apparently the app developers don't get it. This is an app similar to a dating app advertised for children and minors, ages 12 to 18, but there's nothing that stops adults from joining on this app, and unfortunately, that's what's happened. This isn't actually the first time this app has come about in early. early, 2024, we successfully pressured Apple and Google to remove from their app stores because within 36 hours of it appearing there, we got rampant report of sex distortion, minors being contacted by adults. And so it went away for a while, but apparently now it's back and the
Starting point is 00:01:45 problems they're immediately showing up once again. Wow, this is something. So essentially the pervert community, the online pervert community, says, oh, yet another way to get a whole of your 12-year-old, right? That kind of thing. Exactly. And these cases have already started coming in, you know, have been pretending to be minors going on to the app, and there have been already charges of adults who've sexually assaulted children
Starting point is 00:02:12 that they have met on this app. Who's actually behind this whiz app? It's a great question. We're not entirely sure. You know, their developers, they seem to have come out of nowhere, but they got through on the Apple and Google app stores. So really, we think that the Apple and Google App stores are the ones who have an extreme responsibility here.
Starting point is 00:02:37 They're really the only two marketplaces where apps are found and shared, and so they should be vetting their products better and not allowing sites like these that just have such inherent dangers. Is it impossible on other social media for adults to portray themselves as kids? I don't know how they could, or how they couldn't, though, I would say. What makes WIS any different from a Facebook or at Instagram or various other social media apps? Well, the whole function and point of the app being to connect minors with strangers, purportedly for the purpose of dating, is inherently risky. Other platforms have a lot of problems, but companies like Instagram and
Starting point is 00:03:27 TikTok have recognized that one of the primary ways that abusers get in touch with kids is through direct messages. And so, for example, those companies will sometimes not allow minors under the ages 16 to have direct messages, or they'll have some safety features to prevent total strangers from direct messaging minors, but that's like the entire premise of this app. The whole purpose of it is to put minors in touch with strangers. With strangers, okay, but it's probably not designed openly to say, all right, we're here to connect underage children with perverts. I don't think that's probably what they, or maybe they did come out and say this, yeah,
Starting point is 00:04:10 you know, because we love children, no, really love children. I hate to, you know, make fun of that. But, you know, there is a certain percentage of the population like this. But, okay, you join whiz, or you have a child that has their cell phone, and they're 12 years old, and they join whiz. Is it literally a connection app or does that where you message, or do you say, are you a swipe left, swipe right, you know, I'm hot or not kind of thing? How does that work?
Starting point is 00:04:37 Could you explain it? Yes, yes. So you sign up and you're just served profiles of straight, So very similar to a Tinder or a dating app. Some teens have called it like Snapchat on steroids. You're shown pictures and strangers, and you can choose if you want to reach out to them and connect with them. Okay. I would say, too, with this app, you know, they say they're marketing it towards minors.
Starting point is 00:05:02 To connect with other minors is the idea. They say that they require users to submit a birth date and a face scan to show that they're trying to sort. out adults, but it's not working at all. People have set up test accounts. For example, one person set up a test account to test this age verification claiming to be 15 years old was approved within five minutes, even though the person's face was an adult man. And the app, and so then he was even flagged for human review, but the account was still approved within minutes. So even when their own system are flagging adults joining, they're still approving them because they just want users.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Oh, yeah, and this is even with a face scan. So you have an adult puts an adult face scan on, and it still gets approved. Yikes, okay. What are the legalities around something like this? Maybe I'm, you know, ignorant of this because, you know, the whole, I mean, this is definitely pervert catnip, you know? I can see, you know, why the pervs would want to be all over this. Yeah, the problem that we come against is what we often do in the online space.
Starting point is 00:06:14 There's a broad immunity implied by the courts with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which says basically online platforms can't be held liable for harms that they cause. And it's this outdated app from before the age of the Internet, one that we believe needs to be sunset. that it needs to be replaced, radically reformed. This is also a reason why we need something like the Kids Online Safety Act, which has introduced legislation right now incredibly bipartisan, but it would create a duty of care for these platforms to at least have some duty to try to create their platforms in a safe manner.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Yeah, I'm going to take a guess. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't interrupt you there, Haley. But I'm going to assume make an assumption that when you have a lot of donations, going to Congress and presidential administrations. I mean, you see them all get in here and get involved. A lot of money goes from Silicon Valley into political coffers. Would it be fair to say that they're not really interested in an online kid safety act, though? Really?
Starting point is 00:07:24 Even if they, you know, claim to me? Unfortunately, that's very true. Actually, there was a report in 2024 that it was verified about 10 million, $10 was spent lobbying against the Kids Online Safety Act by big tech companies. Yeah. So, you know, and they're not policing themselves. That's the problem. Is they're not taking it on themselves to make these platforms so safe?
Starting point is 00:07:53 We hear every day about kids being exploited and abused online. Yeah, and then you also hear about the kids falling in love with the AI chatbot, too, right? Mm-hmm. Yeah, and some of them even being coaxed into. to dying by suicide by chatbots that instruct them on how to do so. So it's just clear these companies aren't policing themselves, and technology is a wonderful thing, but it has to have safety cards. What would you suggest for parents and grandparents involved with kids?
Starting point is 00:08:22 I mean, I would just say don't give them a cell phone, but that seems to almost be like what, if they looked at me like I have two heads, if I suggest that. Oh, it's so difficult. I would say try to delay smartphones and try to delay so. social media as long as you can, as long as you can hold out. If your child already has them or needs them, talk often about online safety, about strangers who reach out people, children often don't understand the idea of strangers
Starting point is 00:08:52 reaching out to them as harmful because the strangers say that they're a friend of a friend, say that they go to the same school, they don't think of them as strangers. So talk about who do you know in real life, who do you not know in real life that you're connected with online. Of course, turning on all of the parental controls you can, it's burdensome. It's very difficult. I mean, parents face a real uphill battle. So I would say, have those conversations with your kids, turn on the parental controls,
Starting point is 00:09:17 but also reach out to your elected representatives and tell them both the Senate side and the House side at the federal level. You don't need to be an expert on the legislation. Just call them and say, pass the Kids Online Safety Act. We need to protect our kids online. Even if that's all you say, they will log it, and it makes a huge difference on Capitol Hill. Haley McNamara, Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. You can find more about this story and others down the same vein at nsexualexploitation.org.
Starting point is 00:09:55 I'll get that information up on KMED.com. Haley, thanks so much. And once again, watch out for the whiz, right? W-Y-Z-Z-Z is the name of it. Okay, you take care. Thanks again. Thank you. 822. This is KMED and KBXG on the Bill Meyers show. We've heard of serving the Rogue Valley for more than 40 years.
Starting point is 00:10:14 This is the Bill Myers Show on 1063 KMED. Got something on your mind? Give Bill a shout at 541-770-5633-770 KMED. And tell you what, we're going to combine this with also the Diner-62 Real American Quiz. 770563. If you have not won this in the last 60 days, give it a shout right now, okay? We'll get you lined up and get you in there, and then you can get one of those amazing lunches and breakfast that always get delivered to me. I don't know what's coming for today, Friday, but they're always good. By the way, the hot open face sandwiches are back right now.
Starting point is 00:10:55 You can get a pot roast sandwich, get that served with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, or the hot turkey sandwich, yummy with mashed potatoes gravy. and you've got to have cranberry sauce. Now, I imagine, and now that, see, that could be really polarizing, right? Is it the fresh made, or is it the can? I'll ask Randy about that, try it some morning, okay? Go ahead and check it out. James is in Selma, though.
Starting point is 00:11:20 James, you were to the way in what's happening while we're waiting for the folks to line up on the contest. You were weighing in what's happening with the Patriots in the ice world in Portland. What's your story, huh? Right, at the ice. detention center there in Portland, Antifa's controlled that for the past 100 days or more. But this fellow Tommy boy, he showed up with American flag, and he's saying, God bless Trump, God bless ICE.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Boy, that's enough to get his butt kicked, huh? How bad. Yeah, two thugs, two different times, two different thugs swung on him. He swung back. He knocked him. knocked each one of them out, and then they destroyed his car, but all the YouTube live-stream supporters bought him a new truck, and he's been live-streaming every night. There's about 50 Patriots there or more. People have been supplying them with pizzas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:25 What you have to understand, though, though, I don't know why he's there because it's very peaceful, mostly peaceful. I mean, I'm sure the truck must have just gotten in the way, or the car got in the way of peaceful protesting, which meant it had to be destroyed, James. It must be what it is. Don't do anything to, they're told not to intervene at all. And ICE has been slowly arrested a lot of the Antifa thugs for hitting their officers and spitting on them and all that kind of stuff. Well, today is supposed to be a hearing.
Starting point is 00:13:01 on whether immigrants going to dissolve her earlier temporary restraining order against President Trump to put National Guard troops in Portland. So watch that story, James. Okay? Watch that story. Well, watch live stream YouTube on Portland, Tommy Boy, and you can watch it live over this weekend. It should be exciting. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Thanks, James. Okay, 7705-633-770KMED. Let us do the diner. 62 real American quiz. Okay? And we're going to be talking about this weekend in history. It's October 26, 1774. I don't know if we have someone who's ready to play or not.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Like I said, I'm just, I'm kind of fluid. I'm kind of fluid. This is kind of flowing from thing to thing this morning. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Hello? Hello. Hi.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Hi, who's this? This is Wally. Wally, were you calling? for the Diner 62 quiz? Yes, sir, I was. Good. Okay. I just want to make sure, because I normally don't go from calls and then write into the quiz, but, you know, just tell everybody, it's all right. We're going to be fine here.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Wally, it was October 26th this weekend, Sunday in history, back in 1774. The first Continental Congress sent a respectful petition to King George. We were being polite, and we were informing his majesty that if it had not been for the acts of oppression forced upon the colonies by the parliament, the American people would be standing behind British rule. In other words, we were trying to say, please stop hurting us. I think it's, please, please, please, and we'll like you. We'll love you more if you stop hurting us.
Starting point is 00:14:47 But in spite of the anger that the American public felt towards the UK after the British Parliament established the coercive acts, which we call the intolerable acts wally, Congress was still willing to assert its loyalty to the king. We were willing to say, hey, we'll be with you in the king. Now, in return for loyalty, though, Congress asked the king to address and resolve a bunch of grievances of the colonies. The petition, it laid out what Congress felt was oppression of the colonies by parliament. And it mainly had to do with coercive acts, a whole bunch of acts that were established to punish colonies
Starting point is 00:15:22 and to restore order in Massachusetts after the Boston Tea Party. Now, the question for the win this morning, Wally, who was the writer of the petition? Who wrote this petition on behalf of Congress, and they sent it to King George? Was it A, Patrick Henry, B, Peyton Randolph, C, Henry Middleton, D, Thomas Jefferson, E, John Dixon. One of those five. Take your choice. One of these five patriots wrote, Dickson. You're going to say Dixon.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yes, sir. you know this no well you got it there you go you took the one that you took the one that didn't sound obvious right
Starting point is 00:16:10 okay yeah the petition was written by continental congressman from Pennsylvania John Dickinson he was a leading voice for actually getting along with the Brits and trying to be well conciliatory all right he's still one of the American rights
Starting point is 00:16:26 Now, the first of the coercive acts, by the way, hang on now, Wally. We'll make sure and get you set up for diner 62. I'll get that done in a minute. I wanted to give you the backstory, though. I think the backstory is pretty interesting. The first coercive act was the Boston Port Act. That shut down the port of Boston to everyone until damages from the Boston Tea Party were paid. Then there was the Massachusetts Government Act, and the British government had total control of our town meetings.
Starting point is 00:16:56 All decisions were taken out of the hands of the colonists. The third one, the Administration of Justice Act, made British officials immune to being prosecuted for crimes in America. Yikes. We talk about animal farm. Some animals are more equal than others, right? There's also the Quartering Act requiring you, if you were a colonist, then you had to house and feed British troops on demand, including private homes. And the king did not respond to the petition. And eight months later, July 6, 1775,
Starting point is 00:17:26 Continental Congress adopts that resolution Declaration of the Causes and Necessity of Taking Up Arms Written by John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson And it laid out the reasons why they were going to get sporty with the Brits So there you go, a little bit of history here on the Bill Myers show Diner 62 Quiz will have another one early next week Murray This hour of the Bill Myers show is sponsored by Fontana Roofing
Starting point is 00:17:52 For roofing gutters and sheet metal services visit Fontana Roofing Services.com. Furnace on the Fritz. It's the Bill Myers Show on KMED, Southern Oregon's place to talk. Happy to take your calls at 7705-633 as we wrap up fine your phone Friday. Mr. X is going to talk with me for a few minutes here. I wanted to focus on something of import. And price of gold, about 4127 this morning, silver 4873,
Starting point is 00:18:20 which is really only where it was about 10 days ago. You know, even though we had that amazing stratospheric rise to like 4,300, kind of settled back down to something more reasonable. The way I'm looking at precious metals, and maybe you do too, is that, yeah, there was a lot of euphoria going in, a lot of people piling in for trades. But the real reason to have physical gold and silver is because no matter what happens, no matter who's president, no matter who's in Congress,
Starting point is 00:18:49 the idea is to destroy the currency ultimately, even though we've had a rally in the dollar recently, but still the cleanest dirty shirt. Do you think they're going to be able to fix the $38 trillion open wound in the United States financing long term? Maybe, I hope so. But if not, it's where physical gold and silver are into. Talk to Jay Austin and company, golden silver, gold and silver buyers, rather, and sellers, really. Either way, you're looking at it, just go to 1632 Ashland Street in Ashland, 6th and G in downtown. Grant's Pass. Now, Mark was on the show the other day. It is so busy with the buying and the
Starting point is 00:19:27 selling right now that it's probably best to call for an appointment. Make sure that we can get something nice price, nice and private and personalized for you. So you can talk about what you need or what you're looking to do, either selling or buying. I've been working with them for years and I hope you do too. Call 482-3715. 4-8-2-37-15. Get your appointment. Fortunereserve.com. It's fortune reserve.com. Mr. X, community organizer, researcher, gosh, I've learned so much legally and otherwise from him over the years.
Starting point is 00:19:58 You're back on the show. Hi, Mr. X. Great to have you on. Morning. Good morning, Bill. It's always a pleasure to be in a conversation with you. Yesterday we had some talk, and people will call about all sorts of things
Starting point is 00:20:12 on conspiracy theory Thursday. You know, I get that. That's what it's all for. But there is an interesting pattern to a lot of conspiracy, I'm sorry, conspiracy theory Thursday conversation. And much of it, unfortunately, is stuff that we really don't have as much control over that we would like to think, whether it is what's happening with a budget, what's happening with the Charlie Kirk and, you know, investigation, and the death and what we're being told.
Starting point is 00:20:44 And, yeah, I figure, you know, generally speaking, government agencies will lie a lot and just lie. routinely. Can't do a whole lot about that at the moment. But there are certain things that are affecting our very life here that you brought to me, and I thought that it was worthy of conversation, and that is, what are things we can control? And one of them has to do with our energy policy, because Cliff Banks was on the show the other day, and it's very clear that there is not enough energy, there is not a plan to really get more energy, and people are kind of fiddling as the energy system burns. Isn't that a good way of looking at, you know, what we're hearing from the main folks?
Starting point is 00:21:24 It's a way of looking at it, Bill, but I would comment in a slightly different pattern, okay? Okay. There is a way, and it's by bringing about public involvement, true public involvement. Now, you know, what triggered me yesterday was the conversation was encompassing so many things, but the concentration that people need to understand is the direction that they take in trying to maintain our way of life. Now, and a lot of this is an example, but it's a true example. I sent you some things this morning on the Oregon Public Utility Commission.
Starting point is 00:22:16 I sent you the charter. I sent you the legislation involved in giving them authorities in how they're supposed to act and respond because they're charged with one thing. And that's to provide us reliable, affordable power. That's their thing. And arguably, and arguably the way things are being set up around here. is that it's not going to be very affordable, and it's not going to be reliable. And this seems to be by design. Fair enough. It is. It is by design, Bill, and it's by design of the influence of the environmental
Starting point is 00:22:57 left that have dug their way in and relied upon our lack of involvement to create a pathway to true sustainability of our way of life. how long can we go with unreliable power now think about it and yet you have i sent you a page and it's so funny the pacific power public input process in fact i'm going to share that i'm on that page right now okay well and then i sent you one other one with the the plan then the different things and then the collaborative group that runs it and look at the images of these people These images are not you and I. These images are not the people out here working around here.
Starting point is 00:23:47 They're young, idealistic, and believing in an environmental thing that they want to overwhelm us. And their directive, when you read all of the things, and it's impossible in this amount of time to go over every aspect of this. But when you read the actual documents and you read the... their input into our plans, our resource management plans, you start looking at the understanding that their policy is to charge us more so we use less. That's contrary to law. The law requires an affordable, reliable grid, not one that is, oh, it's piecemeal, we're going to shut this one off so we can power this one, or we're going to use our smart meter system to balance it out. I like the Cool Keeper program we've been talking about over the last few weeks.
Starting point is 00:24:49 We're going to get access to your equipment and shut it down in order to balance out the grid. That would seem to be contrary to the actual law and purpose of Pacific power existing and being granted its monopoly, right? And that's, and now you look at the input that affects the actual day-to-day operations and the direction. And, okay, all, Governor Brown, there's one line in there when Governor Brown issued the executive order. Well, if that executive order is contrary to law, what the hell are we paying attention? And I'm sorry, I got out of line there. No, it's okay. You're coming in a little hot.
Starting point is 00:25:29 That's okay. I get that. I really do. Are we, what are we supposed to do if that's contrary to law? Well, we're not supposed to do that. The Public Utility Commission is supposed to fight on our behalf by law. Now, you know, when it's a directive that this is, you know, we want to reduce our carbon emissions to pre-1994 levels. Now, when you dig into the actualities of it all, the state of Oregon has.
Starting point is 00:26:02 all of these things that they've adopted as policy so that we can be an example for the rest of the nation. But they don't only stop there. They use the university system in its agency relationship to influence many other localities, and Texas is one, okay? The university network of collaborative governance, all these things that we've talked about for years. This is a mechanism. It's an organized attack. Well, short of hanging the collaborators in public squares, you know, like they used to do in World War II with collaborators. That's right. What do we do?
Starting point is 00:26:46 Well, we have to maintain a position of making actual input. How many people have ever looked up the Pacific Corps or Pacific Power's public input process and read the comments? that are affecting your way of life and your children's potential way of life and the ability for us to maintain existence here. If they keep raising electric rates, Bill, what do we do? And especially if they raise it without providing adequate, reliable, affordable power. Is the challenge, though, that Pacific Power has many masters, and it's not just the Public Utility Commission,
Starting point is 00:27:33 even though you would think that would be all that mattered? Well, the Masters, okay, could be literally defined legally, and that's what my position is. Let's go back and put the restraints on these actions by public engagement because this, I sent you, one of the things I sent you was the Northwest Power Plan Act. okay that's an act of congress that is the supreme law now when you look at that yeah it it says we have to be sustainable fine let's be sustainable but we but how do you define sustainable though the left to add the political the environmental left tends to define uh sustainable as uh carbon
Starting point is 00:28:21 free intermittent and chaotic though that's right and that's their comment But if we overwhelm their system and we point out that our way of life demands a different consideration, then they lose their power. Okay? They lose. These groups don't speak for us, but they have worked a system. And that's what they've done. They've worked a system. And we have not worked the system is what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:28:51 That's exactly what. And that's where, you know, we can sit back and we can argue this. argue that and comment and have conspiracy theories. I don't argue conspiracy theories, Bill. I argue conspiracy facts. And the conspiracy fact is to, I'd say, eliminate the actual public influence, okay, the need of the public and guide us through a social engineering aspect. So that we are only just reacting to what it is rather than actively participating in making that future. That's right.
Starting point is 00:29:29 And if we're always in the, if we're always playing defense then, well, that's right. Okay. All right. So what would you suggest because, you know, I'm burning daylight. I'm going to turn into a pumpkin pretty soon, though. What would you suggest here because most people are very lazy? You know, they want to say, hey, I voted for this particular person, and now I'm going to go back to work and watch Netflix and Fox News over the weekend. What would you suggest?
Starting point is 00:29:58 Well, that's an adequate and very truthful statement, bill, because that's the reality. It's how do we overwhelm that? Well, at a certain point, the pressures of life are going to force people to take a step in this direction. It has to because no one can keep going with this monkey on your back that is what they are trying to do. and once you know when you get to a point where your power in the middle of winter is going to be shut down and you don't have a way to heat your home they want you to use all electric because it's clean but then now they want to shut it off so they can power something else including a data center right so that they can power buses that aren't being used okay that aren't being used their capacity
Starting point is 00:30:51 so that they can do all of their, and it's about, you have to take a concept and understand. Policy is not law, okay? Policy is literally the desire of a group of people trying to do something. So the moment you hear anybody in government, including our own government, say, well, this is our policy called Bolstein on them, for one thing. That's right. Policy is not law. policy is when you get a bunch of the green weenies together and say,
Starting point is 00:31:23 well, our policy is that you're going to be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. And, well, but that's not what thought, but that's not the legal underpinnings supporting Pacific Power's existence. No, and, you know, they sit back in these things with their comments and they call for the removal of dams. No, you know, do this, do that. and, you know, this argument that they want to remove the power generation dams under Columbia River. So you look at that. What kind of, you know, Bullstein is it? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Where do it, but they have a mask because people don't understand that they can comment contrary to that. All right. So I have, I'm on the page of the public input process. Would you advocate, what, once a week we all get there and as many people are fine interest in here? I would hope more would do so. What would you suggest? I'm asking for an action plane here in your point of view, Mr. X. Okay?
Starting point is 00:32:23 The first thing that I would do is do what I did many years ago, okay? Is start studying it, start going to the website and understand all of the access points you have. I get it. Most people aren't going to do that, Ed. I hate to rain on your parade, okay? Okay. People are not going to sit around and people are strained with time. People are not, you know, all of a sudden, people trying to live their lives are not going to be turned into environmental eco-northwest people, all right, you know, to work that system.
Starting point is 00:32:58 There needs to be a streamlined approach to this, I believe. But the position that I would take, Bill, is the first step is to try to understand it. and that's what I'm saying. Dedicate whatever time you have, learn it, and then start figuring out how to comment on it. And the steps are all right there. The meeting dates, the input dates, all of the things are on their websites. And I can't just, you know, make a comment for somebody. People have to understand they have to get back into a thing of being involved.
Starting point is 00:33:34 And that's, there's a mandatory switch in a mental aspect of this. that people have to take a step towards, and they have to flip that switch back into the on position because our system, America, was designed and built around what the public wants. You know, the way the Constitution is formed and to work, it was supposed to interact with county governing bodies, all of these things all over throughout the country. And that way you had no interference. And what we've allowed is interference, but we have to take a step. Okay, in other words, we have to interfere back.
Starting point is 00:34:15 We have to, you know, become like the enemy, I guess, is what you're saying. That's exactly right. We have to first understand, you know, one of the tenants that the left goes by is the song, sue, the art of war, whatever, but it's know your enemy. Well, we have to adopt that policy. We have to know them and know what they're trying to do. You know, you can sit back. You read the comments from the Sierra Club on these things.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Okay. What gives us the Sierra Club the right to remove my power? And that's a very good operating point of view here. I'm going to share the links here to the public input process. And really, the documents that are showing what Pacific Power is supposed to be doing is contrasted to what they are being ordered and or by law supposed to do. And I'm out of time right now for this segment here, but you really are talking about a mindset change around southern Oregonians. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Bill, it's all based upon opportunity. Right now we have a president in office nationwide that is trying, okay. But there's so many things, so many hurdles that he has to jump over, all of these things. We have to start helping. We have to start looking at our futures. and taking a path and a step, anybody can do this. And, I mean, you have less time. We have, sure, because we have to work harder to pay that higher electric bill.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Okay. But the reality is we have to start looking at it and say, hey, I've got to get involved. I've got to take an extra 20 minutes a day. I've got to find 20 minutes a day. I've got to find, I've got to sit back and start reading incrementally. I've got to start understanding what they're trying to do, their next plan. their plan. If we know their plan, then we can fight it. But it's about implementation of these policy directives. And, you know, they're running out of money. Their networks are
Starting point is 00:36:15 lacking money right now. That's when we have to start getting stronger than we have to organize our. That's a very good point. Because the left to an extent is being starved of government money, which has been used to beat us about the head. Thank you. You know, I'll have Okay. I am out of time for the week right now, but I'll tell you what, I'll have you back and we will do this at more leisure, okay? But it's the changing of our mindset is very important in order to bring us back to a point of understanding and using the law to enforce the way it's supposed to be rather than the way greenweeney.com. You know, it wants it to be. Mr. Rex, thanks for the call. Great having you on the show. Great to see you. Come on in. for letting me stay in your guest room. Our pleasure. Right through here.
