Starting point is 00:00:00 The Bill Meyer Show podcast is sponsored by Klausur drilling. They've been leading the way in Southern Oregon well drilling for over 50 years. Find out more about them at Klausor drilling.com. It is so good having you here this Monday, October 27th. Relatively short week for me, it'll be a Monday through Thursday kind of schedule. A man, Linda taking off, Linda and I taking off for a little bit of time to the coast. And sort of a delayed trip for our anniversary from later this month, the way that is working. pretty calm week as far as weather is concerned.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Had a pretty rainy, sporty weekend and a little bit of wind at time. And other than that, other than more of the green apples coming down, the Granny Smith apples coming down in our backyard. You know, the part we're still trying to figure out is that the people who sold us the house here a number of years ago, it's going on 10 years now, they planted not one, not two, but three Granny Smith apples, apple trees in the backyard. in a row. Three apple trees in a row. And we're still trying to figure out, okay, how many apple pies could somebody break, a bake, rather? I don't know if they were, maybe they were volunteers and just started growing and they just let them grow or not. But what to actually plant, intentionally plant three Granny Smith apples and not one of them just like a regular honey crisp or something to eat. But I guess they must have been big bakers of one form or another. But not enough about my problem. It's not a problem. Yeah, they're all coming down.
Starting point is 00:01:30 They're coming down big time right about now. But anyway, how'd your weekend go? Everything okay with you? We're going to be talking about some interesting stuff this morning, including a new book, which is making a lot of news called The Bibliot Diet. Dr. Josh Axe and Jordan Rubin are co-authors of this. And they're all about changing people's way of looking at food and behavior and diet, and they're looking at it from a biblical perspective.
Starting point is 00:01:56 and from what I understand, I think part of that is also a big part of it is fasting too. And Linda and I for about a year and a half now have been doing intermittent fasting in which we take our food. And yeah, there are days that we don't always do this, but we always just limit the hours of day of the day that we eat. Normally, I don't really eat until about 9 in the morning, same with her. we're like a nine to five sort of thing and then after five o'clock we eat nothing and if we drink anything okay yeah we may have tea or something like that but but we're not drinking anything with any kind of caloric input to it whatsoever and it has actually helped us we've lost a little bit of weight over time linda's lost quite a bit of weight actually from it and I think
Starting point is 00:02:48 part of it is about there's a rising body of scientific evidence that talks about talks about how much better it is for you to give your digestive system a break every day and that your body doesn't really repair itself unless it gets a break, gets a break from food. And, you know, this whole other push from other dietitians will say, oh, yeah, you know, you want to have about 50 small meals a day, 50 small meals a day. And there's other science, which is battling that and saying, nah, not such a good idea. You know, eat a couple of meals or whatever. then and then don't snack.
Starting point is 00:03:24 And that's one of the things which I think has been very helpful for us is that there's no longer any kind of evening snacking. And that has worked out pretty well for us. But when it comes right down to it, Dr. Axe and Rubin are calling this the Bibliotide as in the Bible is what they're doing. And they're talking about the key to fighting today's lifestyle diseases. You know, heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, things like that. And we'll have a few minutes with him around 630. We'll have that talk. And then if you use the Bibliot Diet, then how much time will you gain?
Starting point is 00:04:00 This is going to be kind of a fun one. There's a phone app now that was created by Brent Branson. He created a phone app called The Death Clock. It's a longevity smartphone app. And what you do is that you put all your information into it and talk about your lifestyle and what you're doing. And it is also backed by artificial intelligence. and scientific research, supposedly, right? And then it will predict when you are, well, most likely going to die.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Just taking a look at overall lifestyle habits, when do you think that, when do that, is it think you're going to die? And then when you change habits, how you could extend it. Okay? So anyway, we'll talk with them and see how we got into doing that too. Dr. Dennis Powers, of course, always joining me for where past, Pete's present, and your calls an opinion, too. 7705-633-770 K-M-E-D.
Starting point is 00:04:53 So, anyway, hope you're doing well. Some of our top stories, this story took a little bit of time to make it out here to the West Coast, but it actually happened on Thursday night. Medford native Kyle Singler, remember Kyle Singler, 2007 South Medford graduate, and he led the Panthers to a state championship over Kevin Love and Lake Oswego, made national headlines about a year ago because he was posting some alarming videos on Instagram. He said he feared for his life and often slurring his speech. Well, NBC5, K-O-B-I-5, ended up reporting that Kyle Singler was arrested Thursday night in Oklahoma. He is
Starting point is 00:05:33 former NBA player. And what happened is that Singer allegedly threatened to rape his girlfriend according to the story and attempted to get to her toddler while appearing to be on drugs. and in Oklahoma, unlike Oregon, they still put out mugshots. And I ended up printing out the mugshot for the Facebook Live, and it's like, oh, poor Kyle. Kyle is, for lack of a better term, kind of looking like a street person. A street person tweaker definitely is looking like he's having some real challenges. And so at this point, we're waiting for, you know, arraignment and a trial, assumption of innocence, but it's looking like there have been some real problems in Kyle Singler's life
Starting point is 00:06:26 ever since having left the NBA. So sorry to hear that and just mentioned that this morning. We also had a domestic violence homicide in White City. White City happened 9.30 or so on Saturday night and was, you know, a trailer park, out near Avenue C and they found Edward Rowan, a 72-year-old White City. He was dead. And then they ended up going on this big hunt for the, you know, hunt for the suspect who ended up being Rowan's son. Samuel Rowan, Jason's Rowan, rather, 46-year-old White City. He's charged with second-degree murder lodged in Jackson County Jail. So there is our domestic violence
Starting point is 00:07:10 from over the weekend. Another interesting story which has not been getting enough play because we've been, now this is on a national basis. I mean, talking a lot about what's been going on in Portland over the last few weeks. So more than 100 days that it's been under siege, that ICE has been under siege, or a siege rather, from the Antifa types of the various protesters out there trying to stop it. And I was wondering, boy, you know, they're really working hard on this. What is it about this particular ICE facility in this particular state that ends up being so gosh darn important, right?
Starting point is 00:07:48 And, of course, yeah, it's usually like, okay, what do you have to protest against because it has Trump's on it? You know, Trump is part of this. Okay, what do you got? We'll go after it and do it. But what's really interesting is that something that did not get a lot of play over the last few weeks is that President Trump, in essence, has stopped catch and release permanently. And he not just kind of, you know, gave it a little thing like, hey, you know, we're going to make it more difficult to do catch and release. They actually stopped it. And we've had a lot of times in which activist judges have had people who were accused of illegal immigration.
Starting point is 00:08:29 They post bond, they leave, and then they're never seen or heard from again. the Trump administration now has officially ended. This actually happened a few weeks ago, but it's not kind of starting to filter in the judiciary. Trump administration has ended immigration judges being allowed to release illegals back into America, and they've done this permanently. They have done this permanently. And what this is is that the Bureau of Immigration, I think it's Appeals, BIA, the BIA, the BIA ended up coming out with a ruling here.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And so no longer will anybody who is accused of illegal immigration be able to post bond, no more posting of being released on your personal recognizance like you'll be a good boy or girl and come back for your court. No, you will stay in lockup. You will stay in detention, stay detained until you're hearing your trial. That's the way it goes. and so I was thinking about that over the weekend that seems to be why there is such a hot and heavy push on this one
Starting point is 00:09:38 because they realize that the game is up if they can stop ice if they can stop ice from arresting people then chances are they have a chance I think that's what the open borders crowd is thinking of but the moment that they are brought into custody and it's found out that somebody is illegally here that's it they're going to stay in
Starting point is 00:10:00 They're not going to be getting out. They're not going to be going back to their family. They're not going to be going back to work. Once they're caught, they're illegal. They're in the system until they're evil either tried. And then they find out, okay, well, you actually do have good paperwork. You're allowed to stay here or else, boom, you're headed back. And I was thinking that seems to explain why they have put a lot into stopping ice from being able to do its job.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Now, President Trump, of course, is not going to allow that to continue for much longer and has been trying to get National Guardian here. Now, the pause of being able to bring the soldiers in here is still on until probably tomorrow. There's going to be another hearing on that one. So that is the latest on that particular situation, and I'm hoping the common sense prevails. It's a 623 at KMAD, 993KBXG on the Villemeyer show.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Did you know that SISQ pump service does? Pure talk. Hi, I'm Matt Stone, owner of Stone heating and air, and I'm on 106.3, KMED. 25 after 6, coming up in the next few minutes. Dr. Jordan Rubin, Dr. Josh Axe, and it will be the Bibliot Diet. And we'll have a few minutes with him and talk about this. It seems to be making a lot of noise out there in the diet world.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And that, hey, maybe the good book had some great diet suggestions too. There's actually part of the book that talks about the biblical focus on not wanting to eat pork, right? And I think Ruben and Axe takes that on, too, if I recall. I was kind of leafing through the book, through the PDF that they gave me to kind of take a look at before today's deal. But maybe we'll have a chance to talk about that and a few other things. But I think it's just really interesting. Other state news, Oregon Roundup on Substack reporting about what is going on. Increasing Democrat frustration with Governor Tina Kotech not signing the $4.3 billion tax increases.
Starting point is 00:11:56 You know, the gas taxes, the bailouts for ODOT. State Senator Janine Solman of Hillsborough sent a letter to the governor last week, urging her to sign the bill without further delay. In her letter, Solman, who voted for the tax bill, which Kotek called for the sole purpose of approving the bill, pointed to bipartisan concerns about Kotek waiting to sign it into law. And this is what she said. Many Oregonians across party lines believe that delaying action on this legislation,
Starting point is 00:12:26 may limit the window for opponents to pursue the referral process. Preserving the full opportunity for civic participation essential to Democratic. Governance and I worry that waiting until the statutory deadline risks undermining public trust in that process and in the fairness of our decision-making. Oh, Solomon, I got to tell you, you know, our trust with how the Democrats are handling the passage of this bill and wanting to make sure that Republicans don't get a chance to vote against it or to try to, to, you know, stop it from going into effect. Trust on that is long gone.
Starting point is 00:13:01 That train left the station quite some time ago. But it's interesting that a Democrat running for re-election sees the problem, sees the problem of what is going on there. I just thought that was an interesting story. Oh, there is also, this is also something else. And we'll have to talk about this a little bit off and on this morning. Oregon public broadcasting reporting over the weekend that Oregonians could have a chance to have open primaries once again
Starting point is 00:13:34 Yeah, and the way they do this is that Democrats, this is the way they try to sell this stuff. They say in Oregon elections, Democrats are able to vote in a Democratic primary and a Republican. Republicans are able to vote in the Republican primary. That leaves out 44% of voters who are either unaffiliated or members of a minor party, such as Independent Party or Libertarian. For years, advocates, their writing, seeking to overhaul the election system. So they want an open primary. And this time there is a big gun behind it, a big name, former Democratic Governor Ted Kulengoski,
Starting point is 00:14:16 one of the chief petitioners, along with representative, I don't know what is going on in sharing Helt's head, state representative Sherry Helt, a Republican from Bend, and Andrew Kaza, who is the co-chair of the State Independent Party of Oregon. All three of these people pushing to let
Starting point is 00:14:36 Oregonians vote in any primary, no matter what their party affiliation. And I think this is just absolute total bullstein. If you want to vote or select who the Democrats are going to have for their candidate, become a Democrat. If you're going to
Starting point is 00:14:52 vote to determine which Republican gets in there, become a member of the Republican Party. Otherwise, too bad, so sad. Run as an independent or join one of the other parties. It's, you know, they've been pushing this for a long time. Voters turned it down last time and they're going to try to do it again. And I can't understand why Sherry Hilt is doing this. This is one of the dumbest things that I've heard of Republican because the only reason anybody ever wants to mess with Oregon elections is if it will benefit Democrats.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Face it, folks, that's the only way anybody would be trying to change the way that we elect or elect primaries. That's the only reason. Take that to the bag, all right? It's 629 at KMED, 993 KBXG. You're on the Bill Myers Show. For precision and performance, choose Stephen Westfall Roofing. Their standing seam metal roofings custom cut on site. KMED. The Phil Myers Show on 1063 KMED. Really looking forward to grabbing a few minutes here with Dr. Josh.
Starting point is 00:15:52 and Dr. Jordan Rubin. They are co-authors of the Bibliot Diet. Gosh, I don't know. Who do we start with? Who is Dr. Josh? Hello, Josh. Yeah, I'm here. Okay. And how about you, Jordan? Welcome. It's good to have you both on. I'm glad to be here. A great state of Oregon, my home of my birthplace. Oh, really? Where were you born? Just curious. Just outside of Portland. Okay. In 1975. Portland's a little different now, as you well know, and that it may have been in your time, okay? But it's great having you both here.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I've heard. Yeah, exactly. We were just talking about that just a few minutes ago. So Dr. Axe, Dr. Rubin, you both ended up having some real chronic disease problems, and then we're looking for a different way to attack that. What got you going into this idea for the Bibliot Diet? Very thought-provoking book. Well, I was healed over the last, I'll say, 30 years.
Starting point is 00:16:52 of Crohn's colitis and later cancer, which was about 17 years ago, all through God's principles in body, mind, and spirit. I want to be very clear, if you want to live long, master metabolism, reduce pain, fight depression, and conquer cancer with healing secrets from the Bible, you came to the right place. But it's critical that you understand. It starts with belief. For me to overcome those diseases, for Josh to overcome his life-threatening spinal infection. We had to have faith, and we had to take action. The Bible says faith without works is dead, and we had to reorient our lives around a way of living that was standard fair for our biblical heroes. And the good news, and I say this all the time, the Bibliot Diet is the only book
Starting point is 00:17:45 that I know of that recommends red meat, bread, dairy, salt, and fat. It's time to get these traditional foods back in our diet, but we also want to make sure that we're avoiding things that really don't even pass the definition of food in the first place. Dr. Rubin, I appreciate that. Josh, I'm going to take it over to you, Dr. Ax. What are some of the modern-day foods, and something tells me the list is long, that don't really pass the biblical smell test, if you want to put it that way.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Well, let's first start in the book of Exodus when Moses tells us what not to eat through via God passing this down to him. And so really he creates these two categories of eat this, not that. And what he says to stay away from are foods that are toxic, so stay away from toxins, and specifically those foods are pork and shellfish because they are carriers of toxins. In fact, the number one source today, a reason why people get parasites is due to pork, followed by certain types of raw fish or things like shrimp. And so staying away from those foods is a great start. And then, of course, staying away from foods that have been sprayed with pesticides,
Starting point is 00:18:59 like the herbicide Roundup or glyphosate, is another one. I really think if you can stay away from foods that have been sprayed with pesticides, pork and shellfish, those are the biggest foods you want to stay away from, along with processed foods like added, sugar, and seed oils that are processed as well. And then the other side, we have Eat This, and the Bible talks about foods that even sometimes mainstream medicine doesn't agree with, though we do, of course. And that's eating grass-fed red meat. It's eating organic grass-fed butter and dairy products.
Starting point is 00:19:32 It's doing bread like sourdough. In addition, the Bible talks about a lot of foods, especially extra virgin olive oil and pomegranates are referenced. We know those are two of the greatest longevity foods that are available today. So the Bible really lays out specifically what not to eat, but also what to eat for helping heal our bodies. Dr. Rubin, I'm going to direct this question to you. What I find interesting is that you eat standard white bread or bread in the United States and you tend to get fat, bread and pasta.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And yet if you go over to Italy and you eat bread and pasta there made with different, more older styles of grains, people seem to get skinny. Is that something that you've kind of discovered too? I'm just curious. Anybody has noticed that? I have heard that time and time again. In addition to getting skinny, they have very little gut disturbances
Starting point is 00:20:23 when people are eating dairy and bread or other grains overseas. A lot of that has to do with the way that the grains were grown and raised, but also how they were processed, or in this case, weren't processed. One big issue with bread the United States is that it is sprayed with the former antibiotic current pesticide glyphosate
Starting point is 00:20:46 in its harvesting process, and a lot of white or unbleached bread products are fortified with synthetic folic acid, which is a gut bomb or a brain bomb as well. Now, we teach you in the Bibliot Diet how to consume grains in the form of bread and cereals, et cetera, in the United States, that would be a similar effect to your body as if you were on vacation in Italy or the south of France. The bottom line is, when it comes to the Bibliot Diet, eat what God created for food and eat food in a form that's healthy for the body. We're going to teach you how to do it, and you're going to reap amazing health benefits
Starting point is 00:21:28 along the way. And by the way, in case you're wondering, the foods are delicious. Josh and I are major foodies. We love to eat. This isn't twigs, rocks, and a few berries. In the Bible, it says, if you follow my commandments, you will eat the fat of the land, and we're going to teach you how to do that while getting skinnier. Glad to hear that. Dr. Axon, but I ask you about this.
Starting point is 00:21:52 What role does fasting play in increasing health? Yeah, well, of course, the Bible references fasting continually in its benefits, and Jordan and I have done a lot of research on this and the benefits of fasting. I would say there's a lot of different ways to fast. I think if somebody's just getting started with fasting, They can close down their eating window to about anywhere from eight hours to 10 hours. And so maybe they start eating a later breakfast around 9 a.m. You lunch around noon and you eat an early dinner around 5.
Starting point is 00:22:21 So if you can get your eating window down to 10 hours or to 8 hours, that is a great start for a lot of people. And then I would also say, you know, the early church, they would fast a day a week. They would tend to take either Wednesdays or Fridays, skip breakfast and lunch and only eat dinner, and spend that earlier part of the day, spending more time in prayer and praise and focusing on their relationship with God. So really taking just one single day a week, skipping breakfast and lunch and focusing on growing spiritually and connecting with God has tremendous benefits that activate something scientifically in the body called autophagy where your body can clean out old dead cells
Starting point is 00:23:01 and kill off cancer cells in the body. And it's been shown to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, and have tremendous benefits physically, not to mention the benefits that can happen spiritually and mentally when we fast. So this is proven in the Bible, and it's proven by science. And a little bit goes a long way. Well, I'll tell you one thing. This book has probably created more noise, more positive noise, among the diet world than anything I've seen come by in a long time. And it's kind of like back to the future. Dr. Jordan Rubin, Dr. Josh Axe. And the book is The Biblius.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Biblio diet. It's ancient biblical nutrition practices transform their lives and how it can transform yours. Doctors, a pleasure having you on. Thank you very much. And thanks for blessing us with the occasion, okay? Be well. Thank you so much. It's 20 before 7 on KMED, 993, KBXG. I'm Taylor Riggs, and this is the Fox Business Report. There is optimism on walls that you can make an informed decision. Smart people can make very bad investments when they're under pressure and lack the facts, call 800221 7694. That's 800221-7694, Americanfederal.com. You're hearing the Bill Myers Show on 1063 KMED.
Starting point is 00:24:21 And it's open phone time here, 77056633-770 KMED. So what do you think about the doctors with a bibliot diet? That kind of makes common sense, doesn't it? I find it interesting that what they are talking about is also going right down the line with what RFK Jr. is doing for making America healthy again. In other words, real butter, get rid of the margarine, get rid of the seed oils, get rid of the highly processed seed oils, which have just completely taken over our cooking. And they've taken over the cooking because, well, they were cheap. I'll be curious as to how long it's going to take for a push against seed oils to make it into the restaurant industry
Starting point is 00:25:07 because the restaurants, as far as I know, most are still going to be using the seed oils for frying because they are considerably less expensive. Now, if you're going to go with better oils, better oils that can fry, such as, let's see, what would be a high-temperature oil, avocado oil? avocado oil is a good one because you can heat it up to 500 degrees, no problem. Let's see. A coconut, of course, is another one. I don't really like using coconut oil.
Starting point is 00:25:40 I know a lot of people like getting into coconut oil. Maybe you do or don't. I don't know. But I don't tend to like coconut oil because to me there's always a little touch of tinge of coconut on the food that's eating most of the time. Maybe I've just been trying the wrong coconut oil. And it's not that I dislike. Like, yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the coconut flavor. You know, I'm not a huge fan of the coconut flavor.
Starting point is 00:26:05 But I don't necessarily want that always on other food that I'm eating, although other people swear by it, I guess. But this whole idea of the world with, you know, canola oil, corn oil, all of these oils are processed and highly inflammatory. And getting away from that would be a big thing. and they're talking about butter, yep, butter, not margarine, but you really want to have organic butter because the problems apparently with the feed once again.
Starting point is 00:26:38 The non-organic feed is an issue from what I can tell that they're bringing up. Red meat. I mean, just to hear doctors talk about red meat, yes. Everything that our parents and grandparents ate forever and seemed to do just fine. I think this is a good thing, and I'm hoping that this is a trend which catches fire. So it's not eating meat, it's not eating bread, and that's a problem. It's how we're making the meat, how we're growing the meat, and how we're growing the bread, and the other things.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Anyway, we can talk about that if you wish. I thought that was interesting, interesting talk, and I, like I said, I have a review copy of the book, and I'm starting to kind of go through it and go through it bit by bit. Patrick writes me, Bill, excellent subject. He thought about that. Jesse wrote me over the weekend. It might have been even this morning. No, Jesse sent it to me this morning and said a question on Creekside.
Starting point is 00:27:42 And I've reached out to Nick Carr, but Jesse says, Bill, can you look into and maybe answer a question for me regarding measure 15-238? I read the pamphlet and it states that the measure is the first step and only includes the conference and the event center. Well, who is paying for the remainder of the projects, hotel, ballpark, retail, and community spaces? Jesse says, I fear once we are on the hook and knee deep in this, if 15-238 is passed, the next step will be additional taxes to finish the project. I listen to your show on the way to work every morning from 7 to 7.30, so I'll look out for the answer, thanks. And, or Michael, actually, who wrote that? I'm sorry. I thought it was Jesse. I misread that. Michael, I appreciate that. I, you know, I really can't answer that question.
Starting point is 00:28:35 And I reached out to Nick Card. And I asked him if, let's see, I'm going to see, maybe he wrote me back yet. Okay, he hasn't responded to this yet. I'm going to see if I can get him on maybe 730 for a quick talk on some of these questions like that, because Michael is not the only person who has written me. this question. Okay, yeah, all right, we allow the city council to raise the hotel taxes that provides the 10% for a lot of the development there. How does the rest of it happen? And it could be maybe we don't know yet at this point. Maybe we don't have a plan in place because it's not exactly like there are any contract signed. It almost seems like, well,
Starting point is 00:29:18 no ballpark unless there is a creekside quarter development. I'm thinking that maybe what we're dealing with. I can't really answer for sure, but I'll do my best to try to find out, Michael, okay? 7705-633. What's on your mind today this Monday? Good morning. This is Bill. Who's this? Welcome. Good morning, Bill. It's Vicki from the Applegate. Well, hello, Vicki. How are things with you? Good. Just waiting for it to get light out. Man, it's like dark. Man, it is fall. It's like all of a sudden the switch flipped and boom. Here we are, right? Yeah. Well, I just had a comment. Well, first of all, I'll be thinking, 61 soon, and I do not take any medicines, blood pressure, cholesterol, nothing like that.
Starting point is 00:30:04 The worst I take is ibuprofen because I do have joint problems in my knees and my shoulder. But what the doctors... Yeah, I try to stay away from those two for the same reason, you know, because they're tough on kidney and liver, you know, those kind of thing. All those anti-inflammatories are just the way it is. I'm not, I do not, I have a problem swallowing pills, so I try not to take them unless I absolutely have to. I've never been into pills or, you know, these medicines that caused so many other side effects. But I start everything I cook with bacon grease. Now, I know that sounds terrible.
Starting point is 00:30:43 They probably have a heart attack if they heard that. Hey, come on, Grandma had a tin, a coffee tin that was filled with bacon grease, the left over. for making bacon. And that's what she used to fry. That's what she used to fry. Yeah, I don't have to add extra salt. Yeah. I make a lot of my own meals homemade. It's more economical that way than trying to buy, you know, process this or that. Yeah, now the one thing the doctors are in the Bibliot diet we're talking about, though, though, is that they are still preaching against pork. And one of the reasons they preach against it is that pork is a, well, the unclean animal side of things is what they're claiming
Starting point is 00:31:27 is because of the single stomach and that toxins are more easily able to get into the pig than into, let's say, a cow with the multiple stomachs. That's the theory in the Bibliot Diet is what they were looking at. Right. And we used to buy beef from a friend of ours that was grass-fed, no hormones, no nothing. The hamburger back then, and this is like, oh my God, six, seven, eight, years ago was $5 a pound. Well, I didn't mind paying that because I knew where it came from. I knew how it was grown. How much is that costed now? I got to ask. Now, I haven't had read me, and I can't
Starting point is 00:32:07 even tell you how long because, first of all, it's expensive. Second of all, you don't know how it's raised. You don't know what it's been fed, how many shots it's been given. And you don't even know if it's real nowadays. I mean, they're coming up with so much plant-based and... Oh, yeah, I get that. Overall, though, does the Biblio, does the Bibliol plant sound like it makes sense to you? It does. I think God put many things on this earth for us to consume and in a healthy way. And back in the day, everything was homemade. Yeah, well, well, stay away from the shellfish, though, apparently, right? Stay away from the shellfish. I love shrimp. And I'm I had a question about the fish.
Starting point is 00:32:51 They didn't actually say anything about fish, because once a year we usually go to the coast and catch cod. Well, they were good on, from what I understand, like I said, I'm just spitballing from just my glance of the book. I haven't devoured it yet. I haven't had time, okay? But the way I understand it is that they don't like shellfish or bottom dwellers because of the potential for toxins. But other than that, fish were good as long as they were relatively clean. You know, that kind of thing. So that's where they were coming from, Vicki, all right?
Starting point is 00:33:23 Appreciate the call. Thanks for making that. 7705-633. Next up, I don't know who this is. We're just going live without an end. Who's this? Good morning. Hello.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Oh, Bill? Yeah, hi. It's Chris. Hey, did you get an answer from Cliffbent where the power transmission distribution lines are originating from from the power down here? I called P. The gal I talked to, her name was Rob, and she had no idea. Uh, okay, I don't know what you asked me to ask.
Starting point is 00:33:55 I mean, you know, did you ask Cliff about that? Did you check in with the office with him or something or what? No, you talk to him. Okay, I talked to him, but what are you looking for? I'm trying to understand. The answer, who, where is this Bonneville power? Is it transmission lines all the way from Bonneville? Coming down here, servicing our area for power, or where's it coming from?
Starting point is 00:34:19 Okay. I don't think we have Bonneville lines down here. I don't know if Bonneville is part of Internet. I'd have to look that up. I haven't had time. And there were other things I was talking to him about when he was last year. Okay, Chris, I'll have to take that under advisement. I just don't know. Okay. Sorry. Let me go to next line. Hi, good morning. Who's this? Hi, this is Bruce, Northern Michigan. Bruce in Northern Michigan is a pleasure. Now, are you a Yupor? Are you a Yupor? I got to ask you. that you know upper an upper peninsula an upper peninsula a uper right no no sir i'm just getting familiar at those terms we lived in oregon most of our lives
Starting point is 00:34:58 oh i'm not a uper okay great but the diet thing I mean the doctor was right about most things pork is okay now because you know the uh we have a local source here for
Starting point is 00:35:12 for pastured pork and that's allowed on on the uh on the carnivore diet, which I've been on for seven or eight months. I've lost about 20 pounds. And it's not for everybody because you have to give up almost all carbs, almost, you know, everything from the middle part of the supermarket. You kind of have to give up.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Well, that's not all that different than the carnivore diet is just a modified Atkins plan. And they were doing the Atkins plan back in the 1960s when I was a kid. I remember that. Yeah. And there was another name for it, the Air Force Diet. They've called the same thing. in other words, protein, and very restricted on carbohydrates, right? Yeah, and it works.
Starting point is 00:35:52 You know, if you want to lose weight, that's what you do. That's what I did. But he's right about all the processed foods, especially the seed oils. And I don't really eat restaurant food anymore because of that. And shellfish, I stay away from shrimp. It's all farm-raised. I stay away from the farm-raised salmon, too. I don't support that industry.
Starting point is 00:36:14 So it seems to be working for you, though, Bruce? Yeah. Oh, yeah. And, you know, I cheat a little bit. I'm kind of a squishy, carny. You know, I eat, you know, apples. We have great local apples here, which I can't resist, that kind of stuff. You know, the important part when you are going to consume fruit, let's say, or carbohydrate.
Starting point is 00:36:38 And I've read this for more than just these kind of people. but eat the actual fruit, have the fiber with it that tends to reduce the quickness with which the sugar goes into your system, and that's a big help. We've gotten used to the point where, gosh, if you're going to give fruit to a kid, you give them a fruit roll up. No, give them the apple, and that's a much better idea. That works better. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Exactly. Thanks for mentioning that. Yes, stay away from fruit juices. Eat the fruit. Yeah, exactly. Hey, great hearing from you up in Michigan, and you, stay in touch all right thanks bruce i listen i listen a lot so yeah i appreciate that wherever you happen to be streamed on kmED dot com 657 and let me grab another call hi good morning who's this
Starting point is 00:37:23 hello good morning bill tom how are you today in the sprawling metropolis of talent oh yeah yeah it's more sprawled more sprawled well i suppose it's better to call it than calling it the progressive hive mind of South County Jackson. Okay? How about that? They're really changing a stack-packed-packed-box city talent. It's really sad to see this. You know, we moved here 20 years ago, it's like small-town USA, but now I just think of it
Starting point is 00:37:55 as box city. Anyway. Let me just ask you about that before you get into your other topics. I know you'll have something smart to talk about, but do you think that the progressives who are in charge of the... of the politics in talent, will ever come to the realization that they've been had, that they have been part of the Agenda 21, the 2030, the Vision 2040, kind of a stack and pack in which you own nothing and you'll be happy kind of attitude
Starting point is 00:38:25 because that's really what they're pushing. Well, that's a segue to what I was talking, I'm going to talk about. You know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and I would just want to say how dangerous. I think Jeff Golden is and Pam Marsh with their climate change agenda. Someone sent out an email and it's related to a dozen bills that are proposed, all supported by those two. And particularly the one that where they can control all carbon production. And, you know, if they get, and it's all related, this whole thing of the agenda 21, the United Nations, the stack and pack, the, you know, 15-minute cities and so forth.
Starting point is 00:39:17 And so they're having this whole thing about controlling energy electrical production here in Oregon. And, you know, if it gets super cold or super hot and electricity is limited, that could be life-threatening. And I think that's where they're taking this. They're taking it in the name, see, in the name of all these wonderful things like the 15-minute sitting, and they can't seem to see past all this utopian vision. Do you think that they'd be okay that these type of folks will be okay when energy scarcity policies, which are, you know, part of their plan? Do you think they're okay with people dying?
Starting point is 00:40:02 or do they not realize that people literally could eventually die from these plans? Well, I don't think they realize. Like I say, at first I just wonder, are we dealing with idiots, or we dealing with, you know, super-fascist or whatever? I think the intentions are good, but they're not based on science. They're based on what feels good and what the promote. motion, saving the earth. I mean, how can anyone argue with saving the earth? But I think Pam and Jeff think that they're saving the earth by restriction. And they don't say they have the
Starting point is 00:40:44 capacity to look at a larger picture of what's best and what's good and so forth. So we got these people up in Salem, and they're in the majority right now that thinking that putting a kibosh on electrical production is going to save the planet. You know, it's almost, too, as if this is kind of going back to what Charles Hughes-Smith, that really interesting thinker from Hawaii I spoke to a few months ago, who's talking about in which there's always this faith placed in the system right now that technology will end up fixing the problems that technology solved. You know what I'm saying here?
Starting point is 00:41:24 And I bet they're kind of in there, too. Well, we don't have a way to generate more energy right now, but that's okay, we'll restrict the energy that actually works, and we know that technology will provide, almost kind of that, God? Yeah, it's sort of like what they call putting the cart before the horse. They think that the technology is such now that we can make up the difference with electrical vehicles and solar panels and wind farms and so forth, and in reality, that's not true.
Starting point is 00:41:56 We don't have that technology right now, and so when we, close down the Borgman plant and so forth. We're just ending up shooting ourselves in the wealth, the head, if you will, forget about the foot. Yeah, point well taken. And I'm hoping that there is an ability for a fact-based thought process to enter here sooner rather than later. Tom, thank you. And I knew you're always going to be thoughtful. I knew you were going to come up with something thoughtful. You always do. All right? Well, go with rationality. Okay. Rationality. Who would have ever thought?
Starting point is 00:42:30 right yeah boy thanks tom this is kmedy and km ed ht1 eagle point metford kbxg grants pass three minutes after seven when italian food sounds good and when doesn't it
