Starting point is 00:00:00 Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News Monday, September 16, 2024, stand up for your country. It's just madness, isn't it? The political climate in this country, it's just I've never seen anything like it. 50 years doing this stuff, reporting the news. And it's just every single day, insanity. And nobody knows how it's going to work out. And there are so many forces in play that there are very few places where voters can go to get the straight story.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And you are now on one of them at this very moment. And it takes a lot of work to cut through the BS. I'll tell you that. All weekend long, I've been doing this. And I think we have some very good information for you. We'll begin with the talking points memo on where Donald Trump stands today. It is lucky he is standing. So you all know what happened, I'm sure, because my audience is a very aware audience.
Starting point is 00:01:15 So a man named Ryan Wesley Roth, Honolulu, 58 years old, been charged federal crimes, possession of a firearm by a felon. possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The Secret Service saw him in the bushes on the Trump golf course with a high-powered rifle. They shot at Roth. He ran away. They caught him. The local authorities caught him thanks to a bystander. We saw this thing take place, copied down the license plate number of Roth's vehicle. And that bystander is a hero, by the way. So there are all kinds of questions about security. We'll get to those.
Starting point is 00:02:03 But the main thing that affects all of us is how will this affect, I'm sorry, affect effect effect, but how will this influence candidate Trump? So here we go. Donald Trump and Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and the VP nominees are all in danger. because this is a dangerous country and it always has been a dangerous country so in confronting the president's my new book we chronicle the nine attacks on U.S. presidents, all of them
Starting point is 00:02:37 I should say seven attacks because the Trump stuff happened after publication of course so seven attacks four fatal all right we got Lincoln shot to death Garfield shot the death McKinley same Teddy Roosevelt shot in a chest, JFK assassinated, Ford, the Manson family follower fired twice at him, missed him. Ronald Reagan almost died, all right? And then you have Donald Trump twice. So this is madness, but again, in a free society, and we have the most freedom of any country on earth here in America. The free society, the mentally ill and there are millions of them have freedom of movement, okay, and they have access to weapons. And they will always have access to weapons, because there are 300 million plus weapons on
Starting point is 00:03:36 the streets of America, and that makes the USA a dangerous country. It is. And it always has been. And the reason we have the Second Amendment is because of that danger. The founders knew that people had to protect themselves. But what about the mentally deranged people? Okay? So when you hear these simplistic solutions put forth by both sides, it's just bunk.
Starting point is 00:04:07 All right? Now, there are things that the federal government can do in the states to tamp down the odds. And we're not going to do that tonight, but it has to do with federalizing all drug crimes. And I've gone over this, but both parties won't do it. So it's not going to get done. All right, back to Trump. So he has a chance now to course correct. Go back to the first attempted assassination, where they almost got him.
Starting point is 00:04:41 All right, July 13th, Butler, Pennsylvania. After that, Donald Trump was more measured, and he rolled into the Republican convention with, I wouldn't say a wave of popularity, but a wave of sympathy. And the convention was very successful, even though Mr. Trump went on too long in his speech. But there was a bit of moderation by Donald Trump, as far as the way he presented himself, to the public. There's no doubt about it. And if you look at the first 20 minutes of his convention speech, all different guy. But then very quickly, the old guy came back. Now, the old guy, Donald Trump, in 2016, won because voters considered him an avenger. That's why he won.
Starting point is 00:05:38 And it worked for him then. But now it does not. And he's not. And he's, he won. And he's, has a plan B, run on your record, as I have said many, many, many, many times. Now Donald Trump has another opportunity to courts correct and run on that record primarily. Let me give you some examples. All right. So by mentioning migrants eating dogs and cats, Trump hurt himself. He didn't have to do it. It isn't true and mass. It might be true on isolated cases, but it's not true en masse. Even a governor, Republican governor of Ohio said that. Trump hurt himself.
Starting point is 00:06:20 All he had to do was say, hey, in this little Ohio town, it's flooded with foreign nationality disrupting everything in the town. And that's true. And Biden and Harris condone that. That is much more powerful than any. Haitian migrant smear. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. National debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets.
Starting point is 00:06:56 And meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver. Theroux, the only dealer I trust, American Hartford gold. And you can do this. Get precious metals. delivered to your door or place in a tax advantage gold IRA. They'll even help you roll over your existing IRA or 401K, tax and penalty free. With billions and precious metals delivered thousands of five-star reviews and an A-plus from the Better Business Bureau, you can trust
Starting point is 00:07:33 American Hartford Gold as I do. Please call 866-3-2-6, 55-76, or text bill to 99, 9-9, 88899. Again, that's 866-326-5576-5576 or text bill to 998899. Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my show every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. Starting point is 00:08:28 I hate Taylor Swift. Trump put on his social media. Does that do any good? Now, he might have done it as a joke, but didn't come off as a joke. I don't know whether it was a joke or not but I don't know why a president former president would say I hate Taylor Swift because Swift endorses Harris
Starting point is 00:08:53 Swift can the Swift can endorse anybody she wants all right do I take it seriously no do I think that Taylor Swift knows anything about the electoral process probably not I might be being too mean but I don't hate her all right and nobody should so why do it and then Laura Loomer all right so this is a woman who has trafficked in 9-11 conspiracy stuff she's on his plane why why that just gives the opposition
Starting point is 00:09:33 so much ammunition why it would be like Barack Obama putting Reverend Wright on his his campaign plane. Remember Reverend Wright? Obama would never do that. Why? If he wants to associate with Laura Lumer, I don't have a problem with that, but not on a campaign when you just give the opposition all of this stuff to come after you and petty fog your achievements. Petty fog means ignore them, fog them up. So I hope that Donald Trump changes course in his campaigning and makes issues 90% of his presentation. He has to fight back. I got that.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I do that. You know I do. Somebody does something untoward. I mention it. But I don't. dwell on it. It's not a centerpiece of the no-spin news. So, if Donald Trump does not course correct, he very well could lose the election. If he does course correct and listens to me, he'll win. Because his policies are so much better. He'll beat Kamala Harris,
Starting point is 00:11:06 and the corrupt corporate media. And what bigger satisfaction would there be for Donald Trump then to do that? I wrote a column yesterday called Reimagining Kamala Harris. The second column that I've written detailing how dangerous a woman this is. Off the charts. Now, she's coming at us now as a moderate, as just a regular person. boy oh boy oh and believe me everything I've said in reimagining Kamala Harris and my previous column the Kamala mystery is true I back it up you haven't read those
Starting point is 00:11:51 columns are free you don't have to be a premium memory just go in there and read if you don't think this woman is dangerous then I don't know what to say to you and I hope Taylor Swift reads them even though well I'm not going to do this that. Finally, the Secret Service needs to be revamped. I mean, the acting director is Ronald Roe. He's meeting with Donald Trump today. The acting director of the Secret Service is meeting with Trump and Mar-a-Lago. That's a good thing. And the former director, Kimberly Cheetah, was a disaster. The whole country saw her in front of Congress. He didn't know what she was talking about, what she was doing. She's a political appointee by Joe Biden. That's why the leadership at the top
Starting point is 00:12:32 of the Secret Service. I don't know Roe, I don't know. I do know that the security at the golf club for Donald Trump was not what it should have been, even though the Secret Service is a great job and ferreting this guy out and actually shooting at him. But remember, Trump's been playing that golf course since 2016 with no incidents. Just keep that in mind. It's important that we not be hysterical about this. So summing up, history gives Donald Trump another opportunity to make his case on a very factual way. And I hope he takes it. That's the memo. All right, Joe Biden is in Philadelphia today. I think he lives in Philadelphia. If there were a beach in Philadelphia, that Biden would move there. He's talking about historically black college and university week.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Good. That's fine. And I'll beef with that. But he doesn't run the country. Biden's not running country. Donald Trump is meeting, as I said, with Director Roe, and he's going to be on Hannity tonight talking about all this. And then Kamala Harris is meeting with Teamsters in D.C. That's what they're all doing. All right, latest data, of course, before the Trump incident yesterday, ABC News poll, fair poll, 29 Republican, 29 Democrat, 30 independent. Who are you going to vote for? Harris 51, Trump 47, someone else 2%.
Starting point is 00:14:13 All right. This is close. It's four points, but it's close. But Trump is not leading in any of the polls. Now, outside, I think, of Trafalgar, which leans Republican, but there's been a ship, and that's not good. It takes weeks before the vote. Join us now is one of the best political analysts in the country. You know him, Doug Schoen, his book, Politics of Life, My Road to the Middle of a hostile and adversarial world is out in the marketplace, and you should pick it up if you are interested in politics.
Starting point is 00:14:52 honest assessment of them. So the reason I ask for you that is trends. I don't believe, I think the polls are emotional at this point, and I don't think that people should lock them in. Maybe a month from now would do that. But the trend is away from Trump, but not for Harris. That's my analysis as an amateur. All right. I'm not seeing people go, oh, I got to have that Kamala in office. How do you see it? Bill, I think your talking points today were exactly right. They want Trump's policies. They have doubts about Trump.
Starting point is 00:15:31 They're moving to Harris because she's had a successful launch, has very little to do with substance, only to do with the vibes, energy, joy, take whatever phrase you want. And Donald Trump, for whatever reason, has moved away from issues, from governance, and from the future, and that has cost him two, three, four points that he otherwise didn't need to lose. Why do you think he's doing that? Do you have any idea at all?
Starting point is 00:16:04 I don't. I think, you know, I used to work for him 30-odd years ago, so I spent a lot of time with him a long time ago. I found with him both observing and working with him, if he's distracted or if he's off his game, there's a tendency, He has to go off on tangents. I think that's what's happening now, but your advice is about as sound advice as I could give, and I've said it to people in his campaign, I've said it publicly, but he doesn't seem to be getting the message. Yeah, I don't know why either. I haven't spoken with him. He texted me, oh, two weeks ago, maybe very short.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I think he's mad at me because I'm not like some of the other broadcasters in his camp who, you know, they don't dissent about anything he does. And I am an honest broker of information here. I think that sometimes he sees that as criticism. And, you know, I understand that. I mean, I'm criticizing the way he's personalizing things. Because I don't know if I were in the room with him or if he were on the other side of this television camera like you are.
Starting point is 00:17:20 I would say, what good does it do to say, I hate Swift? None at all, Bill. Not at all. It doesn't do any good. It mobilizes your MAGA base, all right, and maybe they'll get a chuckle out of it. But you already got them, all right? And you're trying to widen. You get 74 million votes in 2020, enormous amount of votes, more than any Republican has ever gotten.
Starting point is 00:17:48 But you still didn't win. And you need to win this time around, and you have so much more opportunities. So Biden was running on, he was the VP, he hid in his basement, nobody knew. But Harris is a radical. I mean, she is a radical leftist. So you've got much easier opponent now, and you're still not honing in on her danger rather than her skin color and all this other crazy stuff. And I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:18:14 He's a smart guy, Trump. I don't know why he doesn't get the message. Bill, there's a very simple campaign message for him. inflation cost of living out of control. Southern border, been open millions of migrants, and on crime, which migrants have certainly increased, Tomlin Harris has been a far left radical to fund the police, cashless bail, and nonviolent crimes, no penalties.
Starting point is 00:18:43 That's all he needs to talk about and say he's for tax-getting and he's for increasing tax. Well, and overseas, too. Yes, oh, absolutely. Americans are very worried about that. I don't think his staff is giving him really great advice, or I could be wrong, and he's just not taking it. But I had a line, and if he does debate Kamala Harris again, which I think he should at this point,
Starting point is 00:19:09 and I'm harking back to my book, confronting the president, so Ronald Reagan turned it around in 1984, as you know, because Reagan had a terrible debate against Bondale number one, and number two, waxed them. But all Trump had to say about the migrant thing rather than this crazy and sane eating dogs and cats was, you know, David Muir, before I answer that question tonight I would like to apologize to the family
Starting point is 00:19:39 of Lake and Riley on behalf of the United States of America for letting you down and failing to protect your college age order from a murderer. I'd like to apologize, and I hope the vice president would join me in that apology. That would have won the election for Donald Trump if he had done that. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between.
Starting point is 00:20:15 It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers, newsmakers, and even the President of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Bill, empathy and compassion tied with real-world outcomes, is what people want to hear about, not the extreme rhetoric, not the hate, not the polarization. And indeed, the advice that you were suggesting, and I would underscore, Trump should come back to the unity message. He should talk about ending division and polarization and say that's his central focus going forward
Starting point is 00:21:39 because Harris is trying to do it as a far left radical, as you put it. And frankly, Trump has a argument to make, but he's not made it. See, I disagree with you a little on that. I wouldn't go for the unity stuff because nobody's going to really buy that. I want Donald Trump, if he's elected, to ferret out all this corruption as far as a federal government is concerned. I want a better leadership in the FBI, the Secret Service, and all these agencies. Unity doesn't mean tolerating corruption. I don't want any kumbaya.
Starting point is 00:22:19 I want Trump to call to me. No, I'm not talking kumbaya. I'm saying working systematically on our problems, people of goodwill across the aisle to get inflation down, close the southern border, and be tough on crime. Yeah, that's efficiency rather than unity. See, I don't think at this point anybody's going to buy any unity. They all know that Trump has gotten hosed to the extent only,
Starting point is 00:22:43 Abraham Lincoln has was put through more than Trump. And that if Trump wins, he should clean it up. Okay, one more question for you. Sure, please. I don't think predicting the election here today in the middle of September is an honest way to go about things. Because there's just every single day. But I do believe that Kamala Harris' support is very thin.
Starting point is 00:23:13 among working Americans, not ideologues, not Democrats, not union people, leaders, whatever. Very thin. And that could Trump could turn that around fairly quickly. Do you agree? I completely agree. Hillary Clinton and Biden were five, six points ahead of Trump in 2016 and 2020. The election, in both cases, as everyone knows, was very close. Kamla Harris has not made any substantive efforts to talk about her program or what she hopes to do other than platitudes.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Trump can close the deal. He can make the case. But so far, Bill, for whatever reason, he hasn't done it. And he hasn't shown signs of understanding that he needs the mid-course correction that you so wisely spoke up. All right. Thanks, Doug. The book again is Politics of Life, My Road to the Middle of a Hostel and Adversarial World, Doug Schell. Bill, thank you. We'll talk soon. I look. Okay. Do you ever hear this Cook political outfit? Well, they monitor Senate races and House races all over the country.
Starting point is 00:24:34 So if Kamala Harris wins the election and the Republicans take either or both House, of Congress, she is neutralized to some extent. Still write the executive orders. She can still do an enormous amount of damage to the country, which she will, all right? But she can be blocked, all right, by it. Now, in the Senate, the Democrats have a 5149 majority, right? Right now, it's just way way.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Cook says that it's likely Republicans will win the Senate because Democrats are defending 23 seats and Republicans are defending 11. The two locked, well, I shouldn't say locks, the two most likely are West Virginia Mansion is retiring. That'll go Republican for sure, all right? So that's one, they win. And Montana, where the Democrat Tesla is in big trouble there.
Starting point is 00:25:31 I think the Republicans will win Montana as well. So that gives them two. If they hold on to all the others, they would have a majority. Now, in the House, it's very fluid, and there are so many races. But right now, according to Cook, the Republicans lead 220 to 211. But again, you can't count on any of that. But it's certainly within the realm of possibility that the Republicans carry both houses of Congress. So it should know that.
Starting point is 00:26:06 We'll keep our eye on this, too. There is a guy, I didn't even know this. There is a commission on presidential debates. And there's a guy in charge of it. His name is Frank Ferenkov. I didn't even know this, all right? And it's a private organization that puts together the debates every four years. So Farrenkoff goes on Newsmax and says this.
Starting point is 00:26:39 A debate is between the candidates, not a debate between the candidate and the moderators. And these moderators, as far as I was concerned, it was the worst performance that I've seen. And as I said, I've done 33 of these things over the years. Wow, that's some soundbite. Now, NBC News has damaged itself probably beyond repair. They're not as bad as NBC News. I really don't get it. really don't. So NBC is run by the Comcast Corporation out of Philadelphia. They own NBC News.
Starting point is 00:27:17 It's like Disney owns ABC News. MSNBC traffics in hatred, and always has. They're much worse now than they were when they just started. When they just started, they were, ah, you know, not that bad, okay? Because I competed against them. We wiped them out. But then they got more and more radical less. listened to these sound bites that happened just this weekend on MSNBC. Go. We exported racism, fascism, to Nazi Germany. We exported it to South Africa, Jonathan. We know how to do it.
Starting point is 00:27:54 We're good at it. And let's not pretend that Donald Trump isn't exactly like Mussolini, exactly like Hitler. He is that guy. The Pope is not perfect. That is a racist, sexist, from the Catholic Church, not surprising. interpretation of what Kamala Harris is about and what Trump is about. And I think he oversimplified and, you know, tamped it down. Okay, so she's saying the United States exported fascism to Nazi Germany,
Starting point is 00:28:24 which is way beyond, all right, any rational thought. A responsible network would have never booked a person like that. And they do, MSNBT knew he knew he's going to come in and say stuff like it, and that Trump is Hitler. Okay. Hitler is responsible to the deaths of 50 million human beings. All right. Then she says the Pope presides over a racist, sexist Catholic church because the Pope condemns abortion. So by condemning abortion, by upholding the Christian tradition of the sanctity of life, Pope Francis is racist and sexist. This is on NBC News. I don't care whether you call it MSNBC. It's NBC News. Now, every network crucified, and I'm using that word literally, Trump for having Laura Lumer on the plane. And I criticize him too.
Starting point is 00:29:25 But that's not even in the same universe as this. But every now, look at this, look at this. Well, what about that? And I'm not a what about guy. I'm not a what about guy. But that's so hateful. So when are America is going to start holding NBC News accountable for the hate? When?
Starting point is 00:29:53 Now, two things. I'm going to write a message of the day about what Pope Francis said. That'll be on tomorrow morning on Bill O'Reilly.com. We'll do a segment on it tomorrow night. And I'm also analyzing Lester Holt, the top news guy at NBC, all right for the way he framed the assassination attempt yesterday but i wanted because i know lester very well and i want to be very fair so i'm going to take in my time but we'll have that tomorrow as well all right a catholic group catholic vote dot org the largest catholic advocacy
Starting point is 00:30:31 group in america it's taken out ads hammering vice president harry go just in medicade data shows 97 underage girls had their breasts completely removed 14 underage girls underwent hysterectomies sex change operations attempting to make young boys into girls penis amputations sound weird disgusting it is and you're paying for it Kamala harris supports these taxpayer-funded sex change operations a vote for harris a vote for medical experiments on kids all true you'll never hear that at mass though never hear the priests say that because i go to mass ever never priests are afraid okay but i say i know a lot of catholics all right um and when they i know there's a catholic supporting common arras i look at
Starting point is 00:31:34 the person, I go, how? How could you possibly? Then it's all what aboutism comes in. Well, what about? But really, when it comes down of fundamentals to the fundamentals of life, Kamala Harris supports legislation that would deny parents the right to know if their children, minor children undergo operations to change their gender. You don't get more extreme than that. It's impossible. And I'll remind you again that only three non-communist countries in the world, only three, have unrestricted abortion, which Kamala Harris champions.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Missouri, Red State, listen to this. They have an amendment on the ballot. Three, Amendment three, Right to Reproductive Freedom Initiative. This is what, if it passes, people, citizens of Missouri voting on it, this is what would happen. Legalize abortion in Missouri for the entire 40-week term of pregnancy up to the moment of birth. All right. Two, as a phrase, pregnant person instead of woman to the Missouri Constitution. 3. Removes parental notification and consent requirements allowing minors to undergrow an abortion without informing their parents or guardians.
Starting point is 00:33:03 Four, allows taxpayer-funded abortions in Missouri. Five, prevents women from suing if they or baby are harmed during pregnancy or during an abortion. Now, I can't imagine the good people of Missouri voting for this. I can't. I have to go so far as to say any person who would support that amendment I don't want to speak to. I would walk away.
Starting point is 00:33:34 If you supported that, I would never talk to you again. And I'm, believe me, I'm an open-minded guy when it comes to politics. But this, this is red China stuff. Smart life. So we have a special for premium and concierge members on Bill O'Reilly.com.

This is another perk we give to premium members. October 2nd, Wednesday, and obviously it's going to be about what you want to know. Stay in history, September 16, 1974, President Gerald Ford announces a conditional amnesty for Vietnam War deserters and draft evaders 50 years ago today.
Starting point is 00:35:14 So Ford said, hey, if you desert it or you rent the count, or Mexico, you can come back, your record will be wiped clean if you do two years of service. Now, an estimated half million people, well, it's 100,000 a.F. here, but those are people who went abroad. I mean, there are a lot of, about a half million during a whole Vietnam saga. Only 21,000, all right, took Ford up on the conditional pardon because they didn't want to do the two years of service. 50,000 went to Canada, Toronto was the big place, and nine out of ten went up there. And most of them came back because Jimmy Carter came in after Ford, defeated Ford, and then gave total, you didn't have to do the service. He got amnesty.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Now Ford, this was very unpopular, all right, when he did this. His poll numbers created. It was one of the reasons that Carter beat him in 1980, that's a day in history. with a final thought in a moment. All right, it's a final thought of the day because of the breaking news on Donald Trump and the would-be assassin. The special on News Nation about confronting the president has been delayed from last night to Friday 9 p.m. We will remind you. Here is a clip. Go.
