Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News, Wednesday, July 5, 2020, 23, stand up for your country. You know, there's something wrong with this Hunter Biden story. Not stacking up for me. I was thinking about it all weekend long over the July 4th holiday and things are not what they seem to be. So, as some of you know, I spent a lot of my career
Starting point is 00:00:40 investigative reporting. And I did major stories on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, which led to my book, Killing Kennedy. I blew the lid off Aspen, Colorado, which was back in the late 1970s, trans-shipping cocaine all over the country. I did a number of stories on corruption, including New York City Marshals, for that I won an Emmy. So investigative reporting is in my
Starting point is 00:01:10 blood. It's what I like to do most. But beginning in 1996, I became a commentator and couldn't really do investigative reporting because it takes a lot of time, and I didn't have that time. but here i'm going to make an exception and that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo hunter biden and his father joe biden what is their business relationship that is a question that remains unanswered and it's an exceedingly important question this whole story reminds me of Watergate. It's coming down parallel lines. So let's first do the timeline on Hunter Biden. His alleged tax evasion, which he has now admitted to, began in 2018 as far as investigations at the federal level are concerned. The allegations go back to 2015, maybe even
Starting point is 00:02:16 earlier. But in 2018, the federal government, the IRS, and the Justice Department started investigating. Jeff Sessions was the Attorney General under Donald Trump. He was only in office for a few weeks when this Hunter Biden investigation began. And then William Barr took his place shortly thereafter. So Barr was supervising the investigation which was centered in Wilmington, Delaware. So Barr didn't say very much, and neither did President Trump. You remember, the investigation, and I understand you got to start to assemble the information. And from what we know now, it was hard because Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, the president's brother, set up what they call shell corporations, wired money through places like Malta. It was very complex to get to the heart of this matter.
Starting point is 00:03:25 So the fact that Trump and Barr didn't say anything about it doesn't surprise me. I don't even know if Trump knew what the extent of this was. So Trump loses the election, Barr resigns from the office of Attorney General. Before he left office, Barr held a press conference. Roll the tape. And I think to the extent that there's an investigation, I think that it's being handled responsibly and professionally, currently within the the department, and to this point, I have not seen a reason to appoint a special counsel, and I have no plan to do so before I leave. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:04:19 By that point, Barr should have known it was something dirty about this. And remember, he did not appoint a special counsel to investigate allegations of fraud in the election either. Though he could have done that and should have done that. Absolutely should have done that. He should have appointed two special prosecutors, one to look at allegations of fraud in the election, the other to look at what the deuce was going on with Hunter Biden because it was two years at that point. But Barr didn't. Not good.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Now, again, we've asked Barr to appear. He will not. He'll go on a podcast that you never heard of. He will not come in here. so what does that tell you okay so then merrick garland takes over and he is directly supervising david weiss the u.s. attorney in delaware wise is making progress and asks for the u.s. attorney in washington d.C., a man named matthew graves okay, and the U.S. attorney in Central and Southern California, a man named Martin Estrada,
Starting point is 00:05:39 there they are, to partner with him share information about Hunter Biden's business dealings. Graves and Estrada refuse, who is the Attorney General, Merrick Garland. He could have ordered Graves and Estrada to court. cooperate with David Weiss. Key point. He could have ordered that all three U.S. attorneys cooperate and share information. Any honest Attorney General would have done that. Why not?
Starting point is 00:06:21 If David Weiss and Delaware needs information from California and Washington, D.C., you deny him that? That's what Merrick Garland did. I find it very shocking that Graves and Estrada would withhold information from their colleague in Delaware, don't you? Don't you? Why would they do that? Equal justice under law, right? Okay. So Garland is already up into this, up to here. It gets worse for him, all right? Up to here. because he's not proactively running this case, and he should be. He's the boss. Okay. Then we get into Bill Barr's book. So, of course, he writes a book. And on page 302, 304, he talks about Hunter Biden. Let me quote from the book. In 2014, the Vice President's son Hunter was virtually with no relevant experience, had received
Starting point is 00:07:35 the lucrative position on the board of Burisma at the time when the vice president, that's Biden, had the lead in the Obama administration's pushed to get Ukraine a step-up anti-corruption efforts. Although Hunter Biden's position was obviously a sordid instance of monetizing his father's office, the vice president did not violate the law because federal conflict of interest laws do not apply to vice presidents, unquote. But that's bold. We're not talking about conflict of interest. We're talking about alleged bribery. So Barr now sinks deeper, in my estimation, into the morass. Does an appoint a special prosecutor? Could have. Now he's given Biden it out on conflict of interest.
Starting point is 00:08:24 it's not about conflict of interest, about bribery. Why was Burisma paying Hunter Biden all this money? What did they want? And did any of that money find its way to Joe Biden? These are unanswered questions. Okay. Garland then continues on in his role as Attorney General and on and on and on.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Okay? Five years. years. Five years, 2018, 2023. Then finally, finally, on June 20th, a plea deal is announced, and everybody in the country who's honest knows that Hunter Biden got away with it. They all know. So here's what Garland said on TV. Go. The Hunter Biden investigation has I said, even in my own nomination, confirmation hearing, is being run by and supervised by the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware. I'm aware of that, but he reports to you?
Starting point is 00:09:37 He is supervising the investigation, and I'm not at liberty to talk about internal Justice Department deliberations, but he is in charge of that investigation. There will not be interference of any political or improper kind. again bull it's not about interference it's about helping get to the bottom of the matter so both bar and garland right now as it stands in my mind ran interference for hunter Biden Republican and a Democrat okay so what happens now. Two whistleblowers have come forward. Gary Shapley, IRS supervisory agent, flat out says Justice Department didn't want to know what Hunter Biden did. Flat out says it. And then there's
Starting point is 00:10:38 another guy who is unidentified who's backing up shapely. Also, there is an FBI informant who's come forth as a whistleblower who is saying the same thing that the Justice Department didn't want to know. That's what this is all about. They didn't want to know. And they put up roadblocks to avoid getting information they should have easily gotten. Easily. Not a hard case. Once you get through the banking records, and remember, the Justice Department has subpoena power. You can go anywhere in a world to look at this. Because the House, now with the three committees investigating, they've got those banking records.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Tell me the Justice Department couldn't get them after five years? Of course they could. Of course they could. Okay, so there are three House committees since Merrick Garland, Attorney General, and the Justice Department won't do anything. And this guy, David Weiss, it looks to me to be an order taker.
Starting point is 00:11:49 I'll tell you about him in a moment. when he put out a statement Friday night when everybody was on vacation, unbelievable. Anyway, House Oversight, Comer, House Judiciary, Jordan, House Ways and Means, Congressman Jason Smith is the chair. So you've got three now, three committees. They're going to haul these guys in, including Christopher Ray, the FBI chief. And all they're going to say is, oh, I can't talk about it's under investigation. Can't talk. Can't do it. Can't talk. that's what you're going to get.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Maybe you'll get a Fifth Amendment. I doubt it. I can, I can, I can't. That's what you're going to get. So these guys are never going to admit that they were in a tank to the Biden family, which they were, in my opinion. Okay, so Friday, this is so weird. Everybody's traveling.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Everybody's going for the long weekend. David Weiss, again, the U.S. attorney in Delaware, in charge of the case, who put forth the... lenient plea deal to Hunter. He's responsible for all that. He writes a letter to Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan. Here is the pithy part of the letter. Quote, at this juncture, I'm required to protect confidential law enforcement information and deliberative communications related to the case. Thus, I will not provide specific information related to the Hunter Biden investigation at this time, unquote.
Starting point is 00:13:22 It's unbelievable. Unbelievable. So Weiss is involved with it, too. He's covered it up. I'm not going to tell you what we have, what we didn't have. Now, they'll hauled Weiss in. They'll say the same thing. I can, I can't, I can't.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Just Department of Regulations, I can't, I can't. So it is left to the three congressional committees and the press to find out, find out what the deuce is actually happening here. The press is no interest in this at all. None. For me and a few others, and I'll get to the bottom of it, believe me. And you should tell your friends and family and everybody else, this is a big story. This is Watergate Redou. Same thing in Watergate. They try to protect Nixon.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Mitchell went to jail, the Attorney General, John Winchard. Mitchell went to jail because he lied and obstructed the investigation into Nixon's cover-up of the Watergate breaking. That's why Mitchell went to jail. Nixon would have gone to jail for what he did in the Oval Office. He would have gone to prison if President Ford did not pardon him. Nixon would have been convicted. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:45 So, tomorrow, this is the talking points for tonight and all that, tomorrow I'm going to bring in Brett Talman, who is an excellent source of information for us. You know him, former U.S. attorney from Utah. Now, you're seeing him pop up on Fox and other outlets, and that's fine with me. But we discovered Brett and put him on, and I've asked him. to try to assemble more information for us. So let me just review what I told you today. In my mind, there's no question, no doubt that both Attorney General Bill Barr and Merrick Arlen tried to cover up this case.
Starting point is 00:15:40 didn't want to know. Both of them. Hunter Biden and the Biden family at this juncture could have realized $30 million. And the accounting, you know, we're getting dribs and drabs of it. It's over 10 now, but my sources tell me it's going to be a lot more.
Starting point is 00:16:10 China was the main player with three players funneling money to honor Biden. Ukraine, Romania, China, but by far the Chinese were funneling money to Hunter Biden. Why? Because China wanted as much intel on the Biden family as it could get. and this was a way to draw a obviously addicted Hunter Biden into the Chinese web where conversations take place
Starting point is 00:16:51 that was the motivator for Hunter Biden the motivator was greed okay that is true all of which I have told you tonight is true so now we have to prove it. And, you know, I don't have subpoena power, but I got a lot of influence. I'm going to put
Starting point is 00:17:19 this out. But that's where we are. Brett Tom and tomorrow, I'll have a final thought. I'm going to give you a little bit more and final thought on this, and that is the memo. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. Starting point is 00:18:43 all right so president biden schedule a day meets with the uh swedish prime minister um a man and olf christerson and a week from now there's going to be a big nato conference and sweden's going to be a member of uh nato so that's fine he and olf will have a good time uh maybe it'll have a little herring, you know, I don't know what they have. Meatballs, Swedish meatballs. I like them. Now, before the holiday, Fourth of July holiday, Biden gave an interview, and I use the word interview loosely to MSNBC. Go. Thank you so much, sir. To be continued. We're really grateful. This ain't your father's Republican point. It is not. I can attest to that. You ever need a witness. I can attest to that.
Starting point is 00:19:35 I said to be a president for every American, whether they voted for me or not. Well, and the ones that didn't vote for your bills, but run on them. That's right. Mr. President, thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much. It's great to have you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Thank you. Don't go anywhere. It's a very exciting day around here. We'll have reaction and analysis to everything we just heard. Okay. Number one, the interview didn't mention Hunter Biden. Not once. I don't know how these people get up in a morning.
Starting point is 00:20:09 I just don't. I don't know how they function. I guess they just cash the check every week, and that's all that. They'll do what they told. And then Biden wanders off the set. Bye. Okay. That's the, that's NBC news.
Starting point is 00:20:27 NBC news. Cocaine found in the White House. So I analyze this in a message of the day on Bill O'Reilly.com. And everybody can read it every morning. I hope you do. You don't have to be a member. You can just go and read it just like my column on Sunday, which analyzes the Supreme Court, which we'll get to in a moment.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Cocaine. Secret Service. Discovered it. In some kind of closet in the White House. I'm not going to make any hunter jokes. I did in the message of the day. So if you want a hunter joke, I got it over there. Cocaine.
Starting point is 00:21:15 So, as you know, I hope, Supreme Court ruled on three things last week. Just boil them down. I'm a simple man. No skin color in college admissions. Can't do it. they'll still do it, but the Supreme Court says, you can't do it. No student loan forgiveness from President Biden, he does not have the power to do that.
Starting point is 00:21:42 And the third one, private business people, cannot be forced to participate in activities that go against their religion. All right? So that means that if a gay person or a black person or a Muslim or anybody else walks into your business and you say, I'm not going to sell you something, you will be arrested. You have to sell them something. But if a minority person walks in and says, I want you to do something for me,
Starting point is 00:22:13 in this case, it was a gay thing, that violates your religious beliefs, promotes homosexuality, whatever it may be. Springport said, you can't do that. Okay, that delineation was not made by the press. They said it's an anti-gay ruling. Okay, it's not. It's basically if you're a religious person and someone comes in and says,
Starting point is 00:22:38 you have to make a cake that says Allah is the real God, you don't have to make it. Right? Okay. We all understand. No skin color, no debt forgiveness, no forcing people. to do anything against her religious belief. But that does not, I'm going to reemphasize this, extend to you denying somebody a service
Starting point is 00:23:07 to buy something or access that everybody else gets. All right, Joe Biden reacts to the Supreme Court's decisions. Go. The Constitution says, we hold these truths to be sold that all men and women are created equal, endowed by their creator. And so uniqueness of America. We never fully lived up, and we never walked away from it.
Starting point is 00:23:30 And this court seems to say that no, that's not always the case. The idea there's no right of privacy in the Constitution giving states power that we fought a war over in 1960. You know, I just think it's, this is not your father's Republican Party. Okay. So it's not the Constitution. It says all men are created equal endowed by the, their creator. It's a Declaration of Independence. Biden doesn't know that. It's not a slip at the tongue. He just doesn't know. Okay? 1960, what war was that? It's 1860, the Civil War. But there's
Starting point is 00:24:11 no linkage to the Civil War in these rulings. Fun. Okay. And then finally, he says, that's a uniqueness of America we've never lived up to. What are you talking about? I don't want to be disrespectful to the office of the presidency, but this is a foolish statement. Just foolish. But here's something worse. How about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Go. There also must be impeachment on the table. We have a broad level of tools to deal with misconduct, overreach, and abuse of power. and the Supreme Court has not been receiving the adequate oversight necessary in order to preserve their own legitimacy. And in the process, they themselves have been destroying the legitimacy of the court, which is profoundly dangerous for our entire democracy. Oh, I'd love to debate, huh?
Starting point is 00:25:13 Things you do it? Maybe Bill Barr and her can come on at the same time. Okay, Wall Street Journal editorial. board, which is pretty good, pretty good, but not this time. They say Trump should do the first Republican debate, August 23rd, Milwaukee, Fox News debate. Trump said he's not going to do it. Wall Street Journal says he should do it. I say Trump would be crazy if he did it. everybody on the stage, including the two moderators, would beat the hell out of him. He'd be outnumbered 10 to 1.
Starting point is 00:25:57 All debate would be, let's beat up Donald Trump, led by Chris Christie, but the others would jump right in. Okay, kill him. Why would you do that? Why would you do that? It's insane to do. So why did the Wall Street Journal advise Trump to do the debate? The management, the ownership, is the same ownership of Fox News. They own a Wall Street Journal.
Starting point is 00:26:32 And they've openly stated they want the governor of Florida be the next president, Ron DeSantis. Maybe. I mean, I'm not accusing anybody of anything. I mean, just... Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter,
Starting point is 00:26:54 plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your.
Starting point is 00:27:13 your podcasts. woke on the run. Disney downgraded. Disney stock. Listen to this. In late 2021, Disney stock was $200 a share. Friday, $89 a share. Whoa. Okay. So now it's downgraded. Key Bank Capital Market says no to Disney stock. because of streaming problems, weak theme park attendance. It's like $8,000 to go so people can't go. And bad movies, woke movies. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:59 So Disney taking it right here. Boom. Because it's woke. Then they fire about 30 people from ESPN because Disney owns ESPN. Jeff Van Gundy, who's an excellent basketball analyst. Max Kellerman, Kishon Johnson, Susie Culber, Matt Hezlebeck, Steve Young, Todd McShay, on and on and on and on. They're all fired.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Cut and solid. New York State revenue, according to Bloomberg, is going to fall 20%. So that means New York State gets 20% less than it got a few years ago in tax revenue. Why? Why? Because many of the corporations and the rich people have moved to Florida or Tennessee or North Carolina or Texas. They're out of here. So now, it's incredible. So state tax revenue is falling by 25% according to Bloomberg news. 25%. That means the debt, the deficit is rocketing here, billions and billions of dollars. Same thing in California, same thing in Illinois. What do they all have in common? Crazy progressive leadership. So those states are getting less and less and less money from the taxpayers.
Starting point is 00:29:25 So you're going to have to rise to taxes even higher. And then, of course, more people who leave. There you go. It's like California $32 billion budget deficit. York, 21 billion. Illinois, not as nearly as big a state, something like 17 billion or whatever. Way to go. Good management. Excellent. Crime, no punishment. July 4th weekend, mass shootings. Every holiday we have it. All right, Chicago, mass shooting, black neighborhood. One dead, three wounded. Baltimore. Mass shooting, black neighborhood. Two dead? 28.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Injured in Baltimore, gunfire. Fort Worth, Texas, black neighborhood. Three dead, eight wounded. Philadelphia, black neighborhood. Five dead, two wounded. Total killed, 11. Total hurt, 41. Fourth of July.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Media coverage on the ethnicity of the perpetrators, zero. Nothing. We'll mention it. All African-American driven, not African-American citizens, not people law-abiding, drug gangs. Nobody doing anything about it. Nobody doing anything about it. Nothing. Because they're African-Americans. black on black crime not addressed not analyzed not mentioned shoplifting taking over america so this comes from uh an op ed in the new york post that says according to forbes magazine 2021 shoplifting was up 27 percent and is now a 100 billion dollar industry in america They're going to stores, steal stuff, walk out, nothing happens to them.
Starting point is 00:31:43 And if you are an employee in the store, you try to stop the shoplifter, you get fired in many circumstances. Okay. Walgreens, Walmart, Target, all of them, all the retail. Closing up in Portland, San Francisco, other cities, we're not going to do business there. Baltimore. Baltimore is one of the worst. So crime, no punishment. What happens?
Starting point is 00:32:09 But you can't. Can't. Nope. Can't punish shoplifters anymore. No, no. Got to understand them. Can't punish them. Ben and Jerry's.
Starting point is 00:32:23 They're communists. Now, I don't use that word often. You know that. But these people are. And they hate America. Ben and Jerry's. This is the ice cream. All right.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Here's a statement. on a 4th July. Ready? But what is the meaning of Independence Day for those whose land this country stole? Those who were murdered and forced with brutal violence onto reservations, those who were pushed from their holy places, deny their freedom. The faces on Mount Rushmore, the faces of men who actively worked to destroy indigenous cultures and ways of life. To deny indigenous people, their basic rights, unquote. So Ben and Jerry and the whole outfit are idiots. All right. George Washington had nothing to do with indigenous peoples taking the land. Nothing. It did Teddy Roosevelt. Nothing. Okay? They're idiots. Jefferson, marginal, you know,
Starting point is 00:33:22 Lincoln, wasn't taking anybody's land. He fought in a Sioux War, but, you know, they were fighting basically for survival out in Illinois. So I wrote, Killing Crazy. horse you know that. I hope you read the book. Every country on this earth, every single one had land grabs by people. New Zealand, Australia, the far liberal, right, England, centuries of war. Ireland, Ireland, the crown, took my family's land. Took it. So let's it. Every single country on the planet had this. It's just the way mankind is. The strong take from the less strong. And there's Ben and Jerry. You got to give it back. The indigenous people because you stole it because you're evil. America's evil. Ben and Jerry's. Smart life.
Starting point is 00:34:32 time, as you know, July 3rd and 4th, two days ago and one day ago, hottest days of all time. The global surface temperature hit 63 degrees, because you're counting Antarctica and Arctic in there. This was the hottest ever, according to the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction. It's hot. Smart life. Texas, Arizona. I checked the Phoenix temperatures this morning. It's like 115 every day this week. And here where I am in New York, it's hot, humid, Florida, 90s, hot. It's hot. What do you do?
Starting point is 00:35:19 I lived in Dallas, two years. I lived in Miami, two years. What did you do? You wall off your house, not physically walled up, but you get a couple of rooms, your bedroom, family. room, kitchen, okay? And you use the thermometer. I hope you have individual thermostats in that low. You cool it. And you put fans on to blow the cool air around. But the rooms and house that you don't use, if you're lucky enough to have a large house, you kind of keep them at 70 degrees because you don't want to be paying thousands of dollars for utilities. So you centralize the cooling mechanism. So I grew up in Levittown, and I told the story often. We didn't have any air conditioning in the house. And in the summer, my bedroom had to be 100 degrees. I mean, I would wake up in a pool of sweat. So one time it was so hot. And, you know, it was one of those
Starting point is 00:36:18 humid nights where no breeze. So the next morning, I said to my father, can't you buy a couple of air conditioning units to the house. There's a little house. Two or three would have worked. He goes, you have a fan, which I did. I was in the second story, which was the hottest part of the house. I said, but if I put the fan, I just blows hot air into my face. He goes, well, don't put it on. That was the end of that. It was only after I became successful that I bought my parents' air conditioning in the house. It's insane. All right.
Starting point is 00:36:59 So my smart life tip is you got to consolidate in a small space. You can't do anything outside. If you go outside, I mean, I see these people jogging and all that they got the giant water bottle. Okay, but not doing your body any good. You get in the ocean like I do or in a pool where I was this morning. That's good. But in Dallas and Miami, I remember I had pools. in the apartment complex. They were so hot. It was like going into his sauna. Okay. It was like
Starting point is 00:37:32 that was no relief. So I, there's not a lot of hope down in the south. But keep cool. This day in history, July 5th, 2016, Hillary Clinton not charged with handling illegally government documents will the take. that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information. For example, seven email chains concerned matters that were classified at the top secret special access program
Starting point is 00:38:09 at the time they were sent and received. Those chains involve Secretary Clinton both sending emails about those matters and receiving emails about those same matters. Nevertheless, the FBI, the Justice Department, did not charge former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. That was seven years ago because the Justice Department and Barack Obama didn't want. Equal justice for all, Donald Trump. Again, that happened seven years ago today. Okay, so we have a lively mail segment and a final
Starting point is 00:38:49 thought about our investigation into Hunter and Joe Biden. We'll be back in a moment. mail, Glenda, it is a balancing act, staying informed yet not getting beat down by all that's going on.
