I was in London this past weekend.
Lots of people watching us over there on YouTube.
It's interesting.
So, Bill O'Reilly.com is where we live, but the EU blocks us from going into broadcasting there
unless we pay an enormous amount of money.
It's like a fee in case we are sued, particularly in Great Britain.
where lawsuits are legion and anybody can sue anybody and the government's over there
so well you got to put some money in case you sued if you lose and on and on we're
not doing that nobody's doing that but YouTube is a way to circumvent the crazy
bureaucracy now there is a story this week about Taylor Allison Swift age 33 years
old West Redding, Pennsylvania born. Forbes says she might be the most wealthy entertainer in the
world. Only 33, as I mentioned, valued at $1.6 billion. Now, a couple of things. Forbes routinely
ranks the wealth of entertainers and politicians. When they zero in on me, they don't even
have it close. Never have, never will. So Forbes, not your greatest source.
and I say that from personal experience.
But Taylor Swift is a really interesting story.
So at age 14, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee from Pennsylvania because she was a musician
and parents recognized she had big talent.
In Nashville, she got a publishing contract, 2004, put out some songs, big hits, Fearless, 2008,
Speak Now, 2010.
It was kind of combination country pop.
And the ladies, the young ladies, ages 8 to 16, loved it.
And Taylor Swift became a major force, perhaps the most lucrative product entertainer in the world.
So that's a good thing because it shows you what is possible in America.
Here we have, middle-class family, Pennsylvania, one of their daughters born with great talent.
They take her to Nashville, center of country pop.
She becomes fabulously successful.
Where else could that happen?
Well, the Beatles rose up in Great Britain.
Okay.
In some of the Asian countries, Korea is the best example.
There are wealthy entertainers, but nowhere, nowhere.
as the opportunity thread that America has.
So Tellis Swift is a capitalist,
even though she supports the socialist candidate for president, Kamala Harris.
Ms. Swift has eight multimillion-dollar homes.
She's only 33, I said it three times now.
She's got one in the West Village, New York City, Tribeca, New York City,
two townhouses in Tribeca. So that's three New York City properties. Beverly Hills, L.A.
Beverly Hills, L.A., two houses there. And she's got a Watch Hill estate in Rhode Island,
beautiful, beautiful place. She's got an estate in Nashville, and then she's got a big apartment
penthouse in Nashville as well. She owns a private jet, which costs her
about 60 million, and it costs about a million to two to keep it up every year with insurance
and pilots and all of that. And she zips around a world in a private jet. I would too,
if I were tell us, if she needs security, this is the best way to do it. Now, I have a personal
experience with Ms. Swift. So back in 210, she was touring, not quite the phenomenon she is now,
but big popular sold out Nassau Coliseum.
I took my then 10-year-old daughter to see her,
and we went backstage after the concert.
Boy, was Taylor Swift and her mother nice to my daughter.
They went out of their way.
Now, yeah, I'm a big TV guy, okay.
But I've been backstage in lots and lots of situations.
I have to tell you that I was very impressed
with Ms. Swift and her mom.
And I had a nice conversation with them,
but the most important thing was
they made my daughter very, very happy.
I, to this day, I have that picture
of Taylor Swift and my daughter
in a frame mounted.
That tells me a lot.
And again, I understand that, you know,
I'm coming in as a media person, all of that.
But I watch.
I'm an observer of the human condition.
The other person who went out of their way
to treat my daughter very, very well
is Michelle Obama.
And I'll never forget it because we were at a White House Christmas party
and it were just droves of people.
And Mrs. Obama was nice to everybody.
She went out of her way to talk to Madeline and to make her comfortable.
And I, again, you know, you're nice to my kids.
I see a little extra special thing there and I note it.
So Taylor Swift is living the American dream.
I hope she's a good person. I don't know. I hope she's having a happy life, certainly making
other people happy with her talent. And really that is the key. We have all been blessed with
talent. Every single human being. That's why I believe in God. Every human being on a planet
has some innate talent. And the trick is to use it to help other people and to make your life
more comfortable. You can do that. You are on the road to happiness on this earth.
All right, you'll listen to me, Bill O'Reilly, YouTube. We'll be back in a couple of days
with a political commentary.
