Starting point is 00:00:00 You know, I'm getting the feeling that it's all over for Mayor Eric Adams. I'm just getting that feeling here. You know, I don't know anything concrete about that. Other than every week, it's another, not scandal, but another dubious occurrence for the mayor. So now his chief advisor and friend, Ingrid Lewis Martin, had to quit yesterday because she says she's going to get indicted. I am being falsely accused, she says. And her lawyer is the guy we had on last week, Arthur Adala.
Starting point is 00:00:45 And Arthur is representing her. And it's about some kind of exchange where she took stuff in exchange for her influence. That's what this is all about, peddling influence. and getting concrete things for that. Now, here's why I think Adams is toast. Number one, I know this for a fact, that the former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, is ready to go against him.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Cuomo is hanging back to see how all of this federal investigation stuff works before he makes an announcement. he's going to have to announce Cuomo by spring, because the election is next year. And I think Cuomo's going. He got the money. He wants to rehabilitate himself. He wants redemption because he got booted out of the governorship. And Adams doesn't have a lot.
Starting point is 00:01:51 You know, Idaa is a good lawyer. and we'll probably have them on about this whole mess in New York City. But remember, New York City, and I know a lot of you couldn't care less about it, but it is the most powerful city in the country by far. And those of us who live in the metro area, 16 million of us, we have to go in and we've all seen the quality of life decline, which is another reason I think that Adams is in trouble because he doesn't really have a constituency anymore.
Starting point is 00:02:25 People aren't running around going, hey, Eric, I'm doing a great job. We've got to keep him, even if he did do some shady stuff. See, when Bill Clinton got it for Monica Lewinsky, Clinton, the economy was good. A lot of people like what Clinton was doing in the White House. So they wanted, there wasn't a rush to boot him out. But Adams doesn't have that kind of constituency. anymore. I don't know anybody who thinks Adams is doing a good job. He's not like de Blasio who is just openly destructively. Adams isn't as bad as de Blasio, but he's not able to solve
Starting point is 00:03:08 the problems. And now he's allied himself with Trump, and that's a move to try to shore up some kind of power for Adams. But he wouldn't have done it six months ago. Certainly wouldn't have done it if Trump lost to Kamala. But he's trying, you know, to get get some kind of base to give him in office. I don't think it's going to work. And the odds are, if Cuomo runs, I think Cuomo beat him, you know, in the primary. I think Cuomo has got remnants of a machine. A lot of it has to do with real estate people in Manhattan, particularly, who donate
Starting point is 00:03:52 billions of dollars and they're powerful. Real estate industry in New York City is the most powerful industry. In Washington, D.C., it's the defense industry. In New York, it's real estate. And the real estate guys, and gals, they'll go for Cuomo because they want stability. They want no chaos zone. Now, Cuomo didn't govern New York very well. as governor. I mean, he's responsible for no bail. He's responsible for a lot of terrible things, putting the COVID people back in the nursing homes. My God. But, you know, that's down the road. And people, I don't, you know, kind of forget. So I'm just seeing this whole thing play out, and I want to get ahead of it. And I do think that Mayor Eric Adams is done. If I am wrong,
Starting point is 00:04:52 I will absolutely play this tape and say I'm wrong, but I have not been wrong very often, as you know.
