Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here, the big story. Of course, Matt Gates, withdrawing from the Attorney General nominating process. So I predicted this, as you might know, excuse me, if you watch my television radio broadcasts, then it's been news, go to Bill O'Reilly.com. We'll sit you all up with that. So I knew that Matt Gates was not going to be the next attorney general, and it wasn't very hard call. He doesn't have the experience. He doesn't have the resume. I don't buy into all of the salacious garbage thrown his way because I'm giving every American, including Gates, due process. Justice Department under Merrick Garland, the Biden guy, looked into Gates, didn't bring any charges. That's the story about that. Now, maybe there's new evidence that will come
Starting point is 00:00:57 forth, but that's not what this is about. It's about President Trump nominating people with experience who can run mammoth organizations like the Justice Department. Yes, I agree with Donald Trump that you've got to dismantle a lot of what has gone on in the Justice Department past 10 years because it's corrupt. There's no doubt in my mind, under Merrick Garland, that was a corrupt agency. You go to Hunter Biden, you go to a million places and see it. The FBI Chief Ray, got to get him out of there.
Starting point is 00:01:40 They will get him out. I hope they put a good person in there, by the way. Some of the names floating are not good people. And I'm imploring Donald Trump to think hard about this stuff. Because it is important, even though Trump's going to run everything to White House top-down, like Franklin Delano Roosevelt did, it's important to have someone who has very wide experience in the department of which they're running. And Gates had no experience, none, zero.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Yeah, he would have gone in and blown it up, but you can get the same with an experienced person. Most people in the criminal justice area know the Justice Department is corrupt. They know it. And you've got to get those career people out whose names you don't know, who are in position of responsibility. You've got to isolate them. Look at their record. Look at how they've used their power in the last 10 years.
Starting point is 00:02:45 And if they are ideologues, they're gone. And you bring in people who are going to do the job of justice. without politics. It shouldn't be any nexus. That's what you need. So Gates, when I heard first heard his nomination, I told my audience, there's no way this gets through the Senate. And then they would float it, well, he's going to do the recess stuff. When his Senate goes out, Presidents of power, to appoint without Senate confirmation. And that would have alienated Republicans in the Senate. They don't want to be treated that. way. And I made that quite clear, and I hope President Trump heard it. You don't want to
Starting point is 00:03:29 alienate your base in the House or the Senate unless you have to. And you don't have to with Matt Gates. There are other better people. Pam Bondi. I've been saying that name. She ran justice in Florida very well as Attorney General down there. And she's very loyal to Donald And there are 10 others that fit into that category. So this was not a surprise to me, but it was to the people watching cable news. And now I'm going to get to my bigger point. Why are you wasting your time watching that? I'm directing this as a general way because I know a lot of you don't.
Starting point is 00:04:16 But if you do, why are you wasting your time doing that? you're not going to get a fair look from any of them. They're all ideological driven across the board. The only one trying not to be is News Nation. And I appear on News Nation, so it's a little self-serving for me to say that, I understand. But they at least are trying to get the news up front first, and then when you do analysis to get no hate. I haven't seen any hate. I'm going to correct myself. There was a guy on News Nation. I'm not going to mention his name because it's not worth it. And I told the brass
Starting point is 00:05:00 at News Nation, you're going to put this guy on and you're going to ruin your whole deal. He's a hater, a far-left-loon hater. Don't need him. You know, that's MSNBC kind of stuff. And if you're interested in the MSNBC situation, I wrote a message of today. I'm Bill O'Reilly. dot com and analyzing that and they're done by the way they're through but let's stay with the overall cable so people not a lot of people you know maybe on a given night in prime time you might get six seven million people watching cable news and there are 120 million homes with TV so you're getting below 10 percent but why would anybody do it you're not getting told the truth. You're getting spin, spin, spin, spin, spin. And then you're getting
Starting point is 00:05:52 stories ignored. You're getting stories distorted. You're getting hateful presentations. It has just devolved. You know, I did it for more than 20 years. And I'm proud of what we did on the O'Reilly Factor. It's by far the most successful cable news program in history. And it will remain so nobody's ever going to beat our numbers or how we presented. Nobody. And I did it. And I, you always knew where I stood, but I backed it up. I mean, that's why my book Confirning the President is going to be number four this Sunday on the New York Times listed for 10 weeks in the marketplace, debuted at number one. Still a roaring bestseller. There's no ideology in that book at all. None. I've been telling you all about the presidents. And you can say, that guy was bad,
Starting point is 00:06:38 or that guy was good, because we just laying it out for you. And people respect that. So YouTube has been a very positive thing in our world here at Bill O'Reilly.com because we get a word out now to people who don't watch cable news who, you know, don't, they're not mainstream news consumers. And more and more of those people are responding going, yeah, we just want honest reportage and analysis, then we'll make up our own mind. And that happened in the election. You had 90% of the media favoring Kamala Harris, and the folks said, no. We don't care what those pinheads in the media say. We know what's going on here, and it's not good, and we want to change. And that was really a turning point in American history.
Starting point is 00:07:31 So sum it up, Matt Gates was never going to be attorney general. It was a two-week story that gave the cables, all of this, that. They said a whole bunch of stuff that wasn't true. They denied Mr. Gates' due process, as they always do. And I don't know what he'll do next. But I don't think, and we'll take this step by step, but I don't think Pete Higg-Seth and RFK Jr. are going to be confirmed to other.
Starting point is 00:07:56 I don't think so. Could be wrong. Thank you for listening this evening.
