You know, culture, vulture, and all that. Culture, you know, culture vulture and all that. Every place in America, and I've been to all 50 states and every major city, there's a different culture which makes a fascinating country.
Starting point is 00:00:55 So you go to New England, it's way different than Texas. And New York is different than California. On and on, deep south, way different than the Pacific Northwest. And there's a culture. So the culture of Alabama is way different than the culture of Minnesota. I admired that, but now we're getting people running these states who are in business to spread only their culture point of view. So let's get specific. There are two main places where the liberal culture has prospered beyond anything we've
Starting point is 00:01:44 ever seen in our history. The media and on college campuses. So the media is dominantly left far left. And it's corrupt. It won't tell you the truth, it shades everything into that area. People are angry, they're bailing out, Colbert, you know the drill. Next up is going to be The View. You wait and see what happens to that place. Disney really can't go much longer with that. There's a journalist named Connie Chung who is a very nice person. I know her, I know her well but I know her and I know people who work with her.
Starting point is 00:02:30 She's a very, very nice woman. She worked for all three networks, CBS, NBC, ABC. She also worked for CNN for a very short time. She knows about the culture, but she will not tell it like it is to quote Howard Cosell. So here's what she said about CBS on July 25th appearing on CNN. Roll it. I would say that they have to fight the good fight, that they have to protect the legacy of CBS. They cannot allow biased owners because honestly, I don't think CBS is necessarily the culprit. What needs to be policed is social media, which have no fact checkers, podcasters and the like. No one is checking those facts. And the problem is that that is inaccurate information that's being disseminated. I think they should be putting ankle bracelets on ankle monitors on certain anchors at certain cable stations in prime time. Those are the culprits.
Starting point is 00:04:09 And that would be me, I would imagine, because Ms. Chung reveals herself when she says they cannot allow biased owners. Well, what do you think CBS is, Connie? Come on. I mean, you know better than that. You know that they favor the Democratic Party. They rooted for Kamala Harris against Trump. You know this. A five-year-old child would know it. This isn't Walter Cronkite. This is an activist network, and so is NBC and ABC. So you know you don't think they're biased left? Come on. I said this before but it's worth repeating. Your colleague Jane Pauli runs the CBS Morning News on Sunday. We try to get on there to promote confronting the presidents on the bestseller list for six months.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Pauli wouldn't put us on because she puts no conservatives on. I'm not even a conservative. No non-liberals get slots on that program. And Connie's saying they cannot allow biased owners? CBS is a biased owner, madam. Whoa. Now, academia. So I've got degrees from Marist College, history, Boston University, broadcast journalism, and Harvard public administration. Okay, two masters, one undergrad. Marist College used to be a working-class fashion and give kids that not have a lot
Starting point is 00:05:45 of money a chance. That's what they gave me. Now it's woke. My son, when he was considering going to college, as I said, you want to go up there, you're going to run into DEI, you're going to run into woke, you're going to run into madness up in Poughkeepsie, New York. So he chose Salve Regina in Newport, Rhode Island which was an excellent school, is a excellent school. Okay, so I know about the
Starting point is 00:06:13 bias on college campuses and I'd say 75% of colleges and universities are run by leftists who hire other leftists. Harvard in their hiring practices, 82% liberal professors. Come on. Come on. 82%? Now Wesleyan University is a very good school. Outside of Hartford, Connecticut, Bill Belichick went there and played lacrosse, The former New England Patriots coach. And it's run by a guy named Michael Roth. And he again denies that there's any culture of liberalism on his campus. Go. I was, and I am distressed that in this country today, was, and I am distressed that in this country today, the executive branch of the federal government wants to be able to dictate terms to private universities, law firms, newspapers,
Starting point is 00:07:15 TV stations. And so all of these things are evidence that the current administration is trying to erode support for institutions in civil society. Boy, that's propaganda. Do you realize that federal money goes to Wesleyan? And the Trump administration goes, if you're going to be a propaganda campus, which Wesleyan is, we're not going to send you money from conservative Americans or independent Americans. You're not getting it.
Starting point is 00:07:50 That's some kind of atrocity. If you were fair, which you're not, there would be no problem. And to point out newspapers, TV stations, law firms, all of the people that are being sanctioned by the Trump administration are in the business to promote liberal ideology. Why should we pay for this? PBS, NPR? That's insane. That is insane to pay for that. So these people live in bubbles. I get
Starting point is 00:08:31 it. I understand. They socialize with people who agree with them. They work with people who agree with them. If you wear a MAGA hat at Wesleyan University, you're going to get scorned. And Mr. Roth is not going to help you. He's not going to come out and say, look, that student has a right to wear the MAGA hat. He's not going to do it. The culture and the culture should not be funded. FanDuel Casino's exclusive live dealer studio has your chance at the number one feeling, and the culture should not be funded. Starting point is 00:09:46 Shop now at NoFrails.ca. Buy tax dollars. And on television, the culture should not be used to promote political candidates Harris. Cover the election fairly and the country in general. I think I'm fair. If you don't, I want to hear from you and give me an example. Bill at BillOReilly.com, Bill at BillOReilly.com. Go to our website. You can see it. We've got everything there. We're transparent as hell. Tell me if I'm not fair. I have everything there. We're transparent as hell. Okay? Tell me if I'm not fair. I have traditional beliefs. I believe that America is the strongest country on earth because we believe in something. Justice. Honesty. Okay? We have a constitution that protects us. But that is broken down. Okay colleges are not going to protect you if you're a non-liberal.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And you say something, you get big trouble in some of these places. And forget about the television outfits. The newsbusters did a study about late night TV, 99% of all the political guests are left. Come on. Come on. Anyway, keep it in mind, the liberal culture is deeply embedded in the US media and on American college campuses. Not all, but most. New stats have come out from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity. That's Stephen Moore's crew, conservative crew, and it says that New York and New Jersey combined have lost $140 billion in tax revenue and income in a decade. And they are hemorrhaging Jersey and New York affluent residents.
Starting point is 00:12:02 They're moving out. And the only state that is worse is California. So when you lose that kind of purchasing power and income tax receipts, New York has lost $111 billion in income, Jersey $31 billion. And you are not going to get that back. So here are the top 10 states in the union that have lost the most money from 2012 to 2022. New York tops the list, California second, Illinois, Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland,
Starting point is 00:12:39 Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Connecticut. So Ohio and Virginia are, I'd say, fairly and Connecticut. So Ohio and Virginia are I'd say fairly conservative states the other eight are liberal states. But the big ones New York, California, Illinois, Jersey and Massachusetts are uber left and people are just packing up. This is a chart on the most people who have split 15 to 24. California has lost two and a half million people. New York, two million. Illinois, one million. Jersey, 500,000.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Massachusetts, 300,000. Maryland, 268,000, Louisiana, interesting, 250,000, Pennsylvania 234,000, Michigan 211,000, Connecticut 152,000. Now Connecticut, too much money, people in Hartford, you got to stop it. Beautiful state and fairly easy to live there without the taxation, but you're killing people. You're killing people. They're getting out. And Massachusetts is always going to be a semi-socialist place. So is New York and Illinois and Jersey, you know, could snap back. I think the people in Jersey get a little fed up with all of this. I continue to believe that Mandami
Starting point is 00:14:14 is not going to be mayor. But if that happens, then obviously there's going to be a huge exodus from New York City. And poor people can't move and lower middle class people have a very hard time moving. And if you've got a decent job, why do you want to move? But it's going to happen. And that will drive real estate prices down, which is what Mamdami wants to do. Look, if the wealthy people are going to move out and all those apartments are going to put up for sale, they get a job that prices down.
Starting point is 00:14:58 And that's what will happen. But even more, the small businesses, the restaurants, the commerce in general, all going to fall, and the tax receipts to Albany and to New York City. Gone. A lot of my friends have moved out. Hannity has moved out. I know at least 25 very, very successful people who moved out of New York City in the last three years.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And more contemplating. So I don't live in the city, I live just outside the Queens line. But boy I know what's coming. And these far lefties are never going to wise up. I don't think you're ever going to wise them up. So this terrible shooter killed four human beings including a New York City police officer. Mentally ill as most of them are. You know I'm an expert at this killing Lincoln, killing Kennedy. You know my books have explored the minds of assassins and mass murderers. In my career tracked a guy named Ted Bundy, one of the worst serial killers in the country. And these guys are all mentally
Starting point is 00:16:10 ill, that's not an excuse. They should be harshly punished or isolated from society forever. I don't believe in capital punishment because I'm a Catholic. I don't believe in abortion either. The theology says that human beings are not to take a life unless in self-defense. I do believe in righteous war to defend ourselves and things like that. But anyway, let's get back to the shooter in New York. This guy has hurt ma'am Donnie a lot because it got everybody's attention. And ma'am Donnie is anti-police. He doesn't want to punish criminals. He believes that American society American society is evil that we force people to commit criminal acts. That's what the man believes. There's not a cop in the city going to vote for him. And I think people are going to start to think about it very seriously. That is insane. The city will collapse if
Starting point is 00:17:31 he gets elected for four years. My God, look at the damage the Blasio did. And coming off Bloomberg and Giuliani, the city was pretty much under control. Quality of life was pretty good. Everybody felt a sense that we are not in an out of control situation under those two mayors. And then Blasio comes in and blows the whole thing up. And now you got, you know what you got. I was in the city last night. There's pot all over the place, drug addicts all over the place, shoplifters all over the place, mentally unbalanced dangerous people wandering around. I mean this is a big city and there's a lot of danger. Workday knows there are two kinds of people in

New Yorkers aren't that alert. They're on their cell phones. in traffic walking across the street with looking at your cell phone
Starting point is 00:19:27 Are you crazy? I? Mean look at all the cars and the bike nuts And you're looking at your cell phone Put it in your pocket All right, so You know things have a way of defining themselves and this terrible tragedy we all have undergone this week I think is going to have a profound effect on the far left governance in New York City and state. I think people are getting fed up with the coddling of criminals, with the awful no bail law, with the permissive
Starting point is 00:20:10 atmosphere in the streets, anybody doing anything they want, quality of life is declining. I think people say, you know what, I don't like this. So Cuomo wouldn't make it worse. I don't know if he would make it better. The mayor that we have now, I don't have any confidence in him. He didn't really problem solve in his first four years. Curtis Sliwa, I think, would be the toughest on crime. I don't think there's any question about that. But Mayor Adams, you know, I don't know what he's running on. What are you running on? Okay, under your watch, it's not as bad as de Blasio, nobody could be. He's the worst mayor New York City's ever had. Now, Mabdani, if he gets elected, the potential heiress Mabdani could be, just blow the whole city up. And I mean that literally. Just open violence in the streets, people barricading themselves in their apartments
Starting point is 00:21:10 and homes, businesses closing up. This is what you could have under that guy. It's not hyperbole. He does not want to enforce the law. And if you don't believe me, I'm sorry for you. Particularly if you live in New York City. I don't. I'm about eight miles outside and I'm glad I am. Then I'll have to deal with this madness on a day-to-day basis.
Starting point is 00:21:40 This one's an important situation because I can bring reporting here that nobody else can and it's about Putin and Trump and their relationship. So if you Google O'Reilly Trump 2016 interview, it was the first one that Donald Trump did after he was inaugurated. And one of the big flashpoints of the interview was Putin. I told him that Putin was a killer and it was going to be very difficult for him to deal with. And then Trump's answer was, well, we're not so great ourselves sometimes and it's worth watching. Now for his first term, Donald Trump constrained Vladimir Putin and he did so by saying to him, and whenever Trump calls Putin, Putin does take the call, which is very unusual for Putin, very isolated, hard to get to him even for the biggest world leaders. But Trump can get him on the phone.
Starting point is 00:22:47 And what Trump is trying to do is say, look, you've got to stop the madness, the violence, and trying to expand Russia, take over other countries. And if you do, you'll become a full-time partner with the EU and the economy for Russia will go great. The problem with Trump's analysis is that Putin doesn't care whether the Russian economy is great. He is a psychopath. And when my new book, Confronting Evil, comes out September 9th, you'll see it. And it's all primary source research. Way back. Okay. But to his credit, Trump kept Putin under control. Remember, Putin seized Crimea under Obama. Now, once Trump was defeated by Joe Biden, then Putin said, Joe Biden? Biden couldn't get Putin on the phone. And Trump was a sideline guy, so Putin didn't have to deal with him. And Putin marched into Ukraine and caused unbelievable
Starting point is 00:23:58 carnage. And Biden, no plan. None. Nothing, because he's the second worst president ever and had no plan about anything, nothing for four years. Okay, so let's go back to a very controversial soundbite that Donald Trump made about Vladimir Putin. This happened February 27th, 2022, when Mr. Trump was a private citizen. Go. Yesterday reporters asked me if I thought President Putin was smart. I said, of course he's smart, to which I was greeted with, oh that's such a terrible thing
Starting point is 00:24:37 to say. I'd like to tell the truth, yes, he's smart. The NATO nations and indeed the world, as he looks over what's happening strategically with no repercussions or threats whatsoever, they're not so smart. They're looking the opposite of smart. If you take over Ukraine, we're going to sanction you, they say. Sanction? Well, that's a pretty weak statement. Putin is saying, oh, they're going to sanction me. They sanctioned me for the last 25 years. Now, that speech was just a few weeks after Putin went into Ukraine. And Putin is smart.
Starting point is 00:25:35 He is full of guile and his master plan is to reinsert the Soviet Union by taking over countries that are free. And he's already got Belarus and Georgia and he wants Ukraine and he's willing to kill a lot of people. Now when Trump ran for president against Kamala Harris, part of the campaign was, I'll get the Ukraine war settled. And Trump said that many, many times because he believed it. But again, people believe what they want to believe, but Trump was going off the four years he had with Putin. He'd say, look, I can deal with it. It turned out not to be true.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Okay? So you can place blame wherever you want to place blame. So Trump thought he was going to get a deal with Ukraine, actually made Putin a pretty good deal. That basically Putin would keep some of the territory less than 10 percent, but then all sanctions would be lifted and the economy of Russia would be uplifted. Putin said, blank you. This Putin wants to kill people. He does. So now Trump is angry and Trump is going to level sanctions.
Starting point is 00:26:44 So it's interesting because Trump said sanctions, Putin doesn't care about them. But you can break the Russian economy. I mean just this week Trump is slapping a huge penalty, economic penalty on India for buying too much Russian stuff. India is going to get hurt. And you can really strangle Putin. And that's what I think Trump will do. Putin may back down on it, but might not. The new BMO VI Porter MasterCard is your ticket to more. More perks. More points. More flights. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about,
Starting point is 00:27:54 the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast, listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. So here's the latest, this is July 28th from Scotland.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Go. We thought we had that settled numerous times. And then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kiev and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever you have bodies lying all over the street And I say that's not the way to do it. So we'll see what happens with that. I'm very disappointed I'm disappointed in President Putin very disappointed in President Putin, very disappointed in him.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Okay, now Putin, as I said, does not care about the welfare of his own citizens. I mean, in that, he's like Stalin, his idol. And when you read Confronting Evil, you'll see the association between Stalin and the worst mass murderers in human history and Putin. Okay. And Putin doesn't particularly respond to anything that doesn't threaten him directly. These sanctions might. Now here are the bloody stats. It's very hard to get accurate information, but this is from US and UK intelligence. A million casualties for Russia, including 350,000 Russian soldiers' debt. I can't verify it. It's very difficult. Russia didn't have a free press. They don't
Starting point is 00:29:31 report anything, but that's what the UK and USA are putting out. Ukrainian casualties estimated to be 300,000, but again, you get no information at a key. They're not going to give you that. This one is in stone. 3.7 million people displaced. They either had to leave their homes or leave Ukraine entirely. Now that comes from the UN. That's staggering because once they cross the border, people know how many are there. 3.7 million. Thank you, Vlad. Very nice of you to ruin people's lives to that extent. And civilian casualties, about 50,000, again, we don't know precisely.
Starting point is 00:30:19 Now around the world, there are countries that enable Putin in this murder and Trump is going to have to deal with that. China is one of them, buys a lot of Russian oil. But we're going to have to level with the Chinese. When I was in Beijing in May I told the Chinese this is not a good long term strategy for you. You should have seen it. They never give away anything, the Chinese politicians, but I said it right to them. Hungary, I'd throw Hungary out of the EU if they continue to cozy up to Putin. I'd boot them. South Africa, awful.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Binbaba, Mali, a bunch of these very poor African republics, they're taking Putin's bribes, and the other communist countries around the world, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, they're not going to criticize Putin. North Korea sent troops, and they're getting slaughtered over there. Venezuela, boy that country is awful. And Iran, of course. But Iran's in so much trouble now. And interestingly enough, Putin did anything to help Iran, didn't do a thing. So there's that. So what I see going forward is that the key to Putin is China. President Trump is going to meet with Xi, the leader of China. Don't know exactly when that's going to happen, but I believe it will happen. Part of that negotiation
Starting point is 00:31:55 is going to be, we'll help China in areas they need, but they got to distance themselves from Putin. I think it could happen. If it does, that's it for Vlad. That's the end. And what I mean by that is the generals who propped him up, he pays generals millions of dollars. Putin's the richest man in the world, and again we'll document how he made his money in confronting evil. He's the richest man in the world but he can't spend it because he can't go anywhere. All right, he's a war criminal. He's got a warrant out for him. Now, is Trump going to cozy up to Putin again? I don't think so. But Trump wants to stop the mass murder in Ukraine. He wants to stop it.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Remember, Putin targets civilians. He's bombing babies and he's not military. He's blowing the hell out of everything he can blow the hell out of. That's a war crime. Anyway, I'm a little optimistic that in the next year or so, I'm going to see some kind of resolution and that China is the key. Thank you for listening to Looking Out For You.
