Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News, June 7, 2023, stand up for your country. Well, we have a story you're not going to hear anywhere else to lead the program this evening, and it's a frightening story if you step back and really analyze what's happened. And it has to do with CNN, but not really. It has to do with freedom. And that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. So the boss in charge of CNN is a guy named Chris Licht.
Starting point is 00:00:46 And he did the Colbert show, the CBS Morning Show, and he's in there about 14 months, and they whack him today, they fire him, all right? And he was hired by Warner Brothers Discovery, the parent company of CNN, to move the network from a left-wing operation to a more moderate presentation. And he was hired, as I said, 14 months ago. He couldn't do it. All right, the culture is too ingrained left. He fired Don Lemon.
Starting point is 00:01:19 He fired a bunch of other people who were fanatical leftists, but he alienated people. by doing that. Now, Licks boss, the guy who whacked him, is named David Zazlov. All right. He's the CEO of Warner Discovery. Since 2018, he has, in compensation, received $500 million. You're looking at $500 million there. With taxes and all that. He lives in California, I think. So he walks away with about $230 million. You're not really. range. So he fires Licked and hires a woman to take his place, and I'll tell you about her in a moment. But why exactly was Chris Lick fired? Because of Donald Trump. So on May 10th, as everybody know, CNN had a town hall with former President Trump. It got good ratings, much, much better than
Starting point is 00:02:22 they usually do, because their ratings are terrible. CNN and have been for years. Now, that alone could have gotten licked fired, but you don't fire somebody in 14 months when you're trying to turn a whole operation around. You've got to give them about two years, to be fair. But once Trump appeared on CNN in that forum, the far left mobilized against licked. That's very important that you understand that so here are in a coordinated assassination profile the media companies that each each of them did a hit piece on licked after the trump town hall the atlantic magazine new york magazine los angeles Times, Axios, Vanity Fair, Huffington Post, New York Times, Washington Post, Slate Political, Rolling Stone magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, NPR, The Guardian, the Daily Bees, Salon, the Nation, New
Starting point is 00:03:35 Republic, Boston Globe, Seattle Times. Okay? So they each did individual hit jobs on Lick. That's not a coincidence. This was well coordinated. And that is the point I want to get across to you this evening. There is no corresponding coordination on the right in conservative precincts in this country. But the far left controls corporate media. And the message that they just sent because licked was fired today to every single media, a mogul is if you benefit Donald Trump. If you don't shun him, we're coming after you.
Starting point is 00:04:28 That is the message. Now, they did that when I left Fox News, so I know exactly what's happening here. And some people were courageous like Sean Hannity and others and allowed me a forum, but most did not, because this cabal basically threatened them. You put O'Reilly on, you let him say anything, we're coming after you. Okay? So I know what I'm talking about here because I went through it. Now, how does this he work? It works because of Saul Olinsky.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Remember that name? Saul Olinsky was a communist, and he developed a program called Rules for Radicals. Number 13 in Rules for Radicals is, quote, pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. And that's what they did to Chris Lick. Okay, day in and day out, they denigrated him. Now, this same crew that we just put up on the screen, and I read on the radio so you could hear the names, pretty much has marginalized the Fox News Channel with the help of Fox News Channel management.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Management just caved in, just like CNN management did with Fire and Lick. But again, Lick didn't really perform. The ratings at CNN have been terrible for years. They had to do something, all right? But Fox News ratings were spectacular when I was there. And last quarter, I was averaging almost four million people watching at eight and another two, two and a half and eleven. Nobody's ever going to come close to that again.
Starting point is 00:06:17 But the cabal is more powerful than the economic profile. And the cabal has been after Fox News for decades. And finally, because of circumstances, Fox News has been marginalized. Okay, cabal dancing on that grave there. And they're not coming back, by the way. They'll beat CNN and MSNBC because nobody watches either at that. MSNBC maybe a million people, CNN a half million. It's nothing. It's nothing. The network that's really benefited from all this is Newsmax. They have added a lot of viewers in prime time. Now, the woman who's taking a Chris Lick's place at CNN, temporarily, they say, is named Amy Antillis.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I worked with her at ABC News for two years. She is a liberal woman, Vassar College, Columbia University, got a master's in journalism. Not a raving left-wing loon, a corporate type, but she will allow the culture at CNN to go back to its left-wing. It was impossible for LIC to change anything because all of the people at CNN on the air, and I mean 100% of them, are liberal people. There aren't any conservatives or even moderates on the air in that network. So it would be like asking me, say I was working for somebody, and I am a traditional independent.
Starting point is 00:07:58 That's what I am. Some people say conservative, but I can give you 10. core beliefs that I hold that are not conservative. So that's who we. I'm traditional. I'm independent. That would be like an executive walking into me and say, O'Reilly, you're going to be woke from now on on the air. It's not happening. I mean, I'd walk right out the door, but a lot of people need the paychecks. But you can't come into CNN and say, yeah, you're going to be more moderating because they're all looking at you. They're going to know, we're liberal. That's who we are. And we've always been that way, and we're always going to remain that way. And that's
Starting point is 00:08:32 why Lick couldn't move it. He couldn't move the dial. All right. But again, the importance of this story is that this cabal is so powerful on the far left and well-financed and well-coordinated, okay, that they have intimidated every single media company in this country. You don't, you give Trump a forum coming after you. Now, that doesn't apply to it. conservative networks. But any other network, ABC, NBC, all the morning shows, all the late night shows, everything. Trump is to be shunned. That's what they're going to do in the 24 campaign. And that is the memo. If you have any questions about any part of the memo, And I can back it all up 100%.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com, name in town if you wish to opine. And remember, this affects you directly because the news coverage in this country is undeniably slanted left. And people who don't follow the news hear all of this. you go against that tide in corporations, you'll get what Chris Lick got. Power, politics and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors,
Starting point is 00:10:20 lawmakers, newsmakers, and even the president of the United States. United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast. Listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. President Biden had nothing on a schedule today. I mean, it's Wednesday. He gets his nap day. Tomorrow he's going to meet with the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, at the White House. or talks on climate and Ukraine. We won't know anything about that because Biden probably not hold a press conference.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Although he may take a few, you never know. The British Prime Minister, that's pretty big. So maybe they'll sit there in the chairs and lob a few questions, maybe, but not. And then on Friday, Jill and Joe, we'll go to North Carolina to say hi to the vets. That's it. That's all. Trump's schedule, no reports of anything, as I re told you yesterday, an indictment on the federal level, Trump people believe it's coming quickly. So, today, Wednesday, 1.30 in the afternoon, here's what Donald Trump put out on truth social.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Quote, wow, this is turning out to be the greatest and most vicious instance of election interference in the history of our country. Remember, I am leading De-Sanctimonious, big in the polls, but more importantly, I'm leading Biden by a lot. Also, and perhaps most importantly, they are launching all of the many fake investigations against me, right, smack in the middle of my campaign, something which is unheard of and not supposed to happen. Department of Justice, FBI, New York Attorney General, New York, DA, Atlanta DA, fascists, all unquote. Okay. This is point of view, and he's entitled to it. Now, there is a statement unreleased that I understand that Trump people are going to put out. I don't know whether it will be videotape of the president. I don't know how it is, saying that the special prosecutor, Jack Smith, has violated the law. Don't know what it's going to say. I know it's there. and they're waiting to see when Smith is going to announce the indictment. Now, there is a grand jury in Miami on the Mar-a-Lago documents. They heard testimony again today, but the word is coming down, and of course, we're on it.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Let's go to the migrants. So one of the things that you hear from the propaganda laden American press is that migrant interactions with the border patrol, which is unlawful entries, that's the category, are down 70% since May 11. That's what's being reported. Well, I'm pretty experienced in this area, and I see this, and I go, something suspicious here. But not the networks or MSNBC or CNN, they just tell you that. They don't tell you what's. behind the scenes. Now I will. So it is true that unlawful entries, that means people back and forward to the border patrol, down 70%, but still 3,400 a day doing the math, that's more than
Starting point is 00:14:31 a million a year, which is still a catastrophe. However, we call the Heritage Foundation with a really good investigative place. They do good work. Heritage Foundation, okay? We talked to Laura Rees and said, she's an expert on Board of Security. I said, what's going on? Well, here's what's going on. Migrants can now apply for asylum through the Internet.
Starting point is 00:15:03 There is a website that you can go to, if you're anywhere outside the United States, and apply. Then you get a number. If you then cross the border and give the number to the Border Patrol or customs or whatever, say you're walking across in Tijuana to San Diego, San Ysidro, the Biden administration waves you in. That's not an unlawful entry. That's how they get around it. That's the shell game.
Starting point is 00:15:38 So tens of thousands of migrants are doing this on the Internet, getting their number, to the border authorities and they're waved in and they let them go wherever they want. They put their name in a computer and say, show up in five to ten years for your silent hearing and have a good time. Did you know that? Did you? You didn't know that. That's what the Biden administration is doing. That's called subterfuge. That's called dishonesty. You're not telling you the American people what this is really about. They jinned up a phony game. You're not supposed to be released in the United States, all right, if you're applying for asylum. It's supposed to wait in your home country or another place until it's adjudicated.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Horrible. In America, there's another migration. U.S. citizens, and I'm sure illegal aliens, too. They're on board. So they're going from the corrupt big cities like New York, where I am, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco. They're going from these places, sky high taxes, no public safety. People are moving to the big cities they're moving to are Austin, Texas, number one. Tampa and Orlando, Florida, Houston, Phoenix, Vegas, and Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte also. So they're coming out of California and New York mostly. Illinois got a problem. Massachusetts got a problem. All high-taxed Massachusetts doesn't have an out-of-control crime problem, by the way.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Boston has, even though it's run by liberals, has managed to contain that. But the taxes are so high, people are leaving. So there's this great migration. I mean, millions and millions and millions of people. I got a letter today from a concierge member, direct access to me, and it's private, so I'm not going to tell you who it was. I'm moving from New York to Palm Coast, Florida. But I don't want to drive my cars down there. I got a couple of cars.
Starting point is 00:18:07 How do I get them down? So I told the guy, here's how you get them down. That's what you get with concierge membership. And my friends, a bunch of them, I moved to Florida from New York. Now in San Francisco, two more big hotels closing. In fact, the Hilton, San Francisco, and Park 55 are basically walking away from their mortgages. They're saying, we're walking out, we're getting out of here because of concerns over street conditions, that's crime, and reduce convention business.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Nobody's going there. There's two more giant hotels closing. In addition to all the departments, not all, but many department stores, Walmart, all of those. San Francisco is going to be a ghost town. It's going to be zombie central there. People walking around stone. That's where it's going. Catholic League, they're trying to fight, and this is an interesting story.
Starting point is 00:19:11 They're trying to fight the Los Angeles Dodgers for honoring the Christian hate group on the gay night at the Dodger Stadium, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, who put on quite a show, I understand, in Dallas this week. Pretty gross. Anyway, the Catholic League says it's launched a radio ad campaign on KABC radio in L.A. so we said okay give us the ad we'd like to run it it'll help your campaign no we can't get it so what does that tell me i don't know whether they're misleading or they don't like me i don't know but i'm not taking them seriously ever again This is a riot. So it is a gay night in Washington at the Nationals Park.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Okay. And who throws out the first ball? Nancy Pelosi. Roll the tape. All right. The Washington Nationals showed its pride tonight. Our home team hosted Pride Night Out for the 18th year in a row. And the Nats tell us this is the longest running pride event in Major League Baseball.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi throughout the ceremonial first pitch. You can see her right there. She was recognized for all the work she's done fighting for. the LGBTQ plus community. I'm Matthew Torres caught up with her right after her pitch. Speaker, what is it like to be recognized for your efforts? Oh, I'm so proud because we take such pride in the LGBTQ plus community. All right, there it is. I got to give her a compliment. She's 83 years old. She threw the pitch better than Barack Obama.
Starting point is 00:21:07 And she's so proud. I'm so glad. You know, I have, look, you got to understand something about me. I am a live and let live guy. If you're an adult, you want to be gay, be gay. Be happy, be gay. I don't care. It doesn't bother me any least. And when I was a high school teacher and I'm going to write my message of the day about this tomorrow, I stood up to those gay kids who were being bullied in the school. And they were being bullied bad. Okay? That's not okay with me. We're trying to indoctrinate people in a certain lifestyle, like trans, and taking children and giving them propaganda about lifestyle matters they don't understand. No. That is not happening here. Okay?
Starting point is 00:21:50 While I'm in place. Now, do I care the Washington Nationals allow Nancy Pelosi to throw out the first pitch? I do not care. Do I care they had Gay Day? No, I don't. Want to go to Gay Day? Watch the Nationals. the nationals, you go right ahead. But I'd like to see traditional day. I'd like to see
Starting point is 00:22:09 honoring the Constitution Day at the National Spark in our nation's capital. Okay? That fair? I think that's fair. Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my show every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. President Trump and his team are shaking up Washington like never before, and we're here to cover it from all sides, especially on the topics the mainstream media won't. So if you're a political junkie on a late lunch or getting ready for the drive home, new episodes of the Sean Spicer Show podcast drop at 2 p.m. East Coast every day. Make sure you tune in.
Starting point is 00:22:47 You can find us at Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. Now, this indoctrination stuff is causing social upheaval all over the country. You know that. All right. So we see Target, we see the Dodgers. The Dodgers, by the way, are falling apart on the field, as I predicted, that God would, you know. So they lost yesterday. They blew an unbelievable lead, and now they're all mad or in the dugout.
Starting point is 00:23:17 I don't know. But anyway, I can't see the Dodgers prospering. But could be wrong. Anyway, this social upheaval about all the trans stuff, which basically, backhose into the gay stuff is causing people to get angry and sometimes you act out in a way that's not fair as I said before a lot of gay people don't like this trans stuff particularly when it's aimed at kids I get letters all time and I read so now it's all part of a breaking down traditional American society and there is a new book out called the anti-communist manifesto
Starting point is 00:23:56 It's a great book cover, by the way. One of the best book covers I've seen in a while. It's by Jesse Kelly. You may know him. He's on the first TV along with me. He does a nationally syndicated radio program, the Jesse Kelly Show. And I think it took them like five days to come up with that title, but I'm not sure, Kelly. The Jesse Kelly Show, is that widely debated about what we should call a radio show?
Starting point is 00:24:22 You know, Bill, it's actually funny. initially when I got that spot, the nationally syndicated radio spot, they wanted to call it something else. It was something, I forget, America now or America First or something. And I thought, well, that's kind of confusing. Plus, I'm so arrogant that I just really wanted it to mainly focus on me. Yeah. I'm the same way. The O'Reilly Factor. Now, the no spin news where you're on now, it's a little bit different, but everybody knows I run that operation. So I'm reading your book, and it's essentially about a communist movement that you believe is well underway in this country and how to fight against that, the anti-communist manifesto.
Starting point is 00:25:04 But I'm still unclear about who exactly you feel is communist. So is President Biden a communist, in your opinion? Well, it depends on how you want me to answer that question. I want you to answer it by your point of view. is Biden a communist of course he is now he may not be one of the ones that's doing the thinking of course he's not one of the ones that doing the thinking i think everyone can agree on that but if ten guys are sitting in front of me with ball bats and one guy wants to beat me to death with it and two of the guys don't really want to but they'll go along with the group if everyone
Starting point is 00:25:40 else does does it really matter to me that it wasn't their idea and they don't really want to feel like it okay but but joe biden is let's let's stay specifically you rightly define early in the book, the anti-communist manifesto, what communist is. It's people who support the abolition of private property. That no private property should exist. That's what Karl Marx and Engels and Stalin and Castro. Now, no private property. You have no power as a human being. The state tells you what to do. That's communist. Now, Biden doesn't believe that does he that's not communism that was the original definition they sold to people that's not as i lay out in the book the actual way it works out communism has nothing to do with nationalization
Starting point is 00:26:36 of this or the government telling you this or government telling you that communism is simply the religion of the malcontent bill that's why in the soviet union they went after the urban poor they told the chinese when the chinese communists were coming up they said hey focus on the urban poor And Mao and the Chinese said, no, that's stupid. We don't have malcontented urban poor here in China. We have malcontented rural poor here in China. So that's where we go. It took on a different form in Cambodia.
Starting point is 00:27:02 They tried to do the same thing here, focusing on the workers. And that failed because our workers have an excellent standard of living here. It just never caught a hold. But in the original car, in the original communist manifesto, private property is abolished. So you're expanding that, I think. in your analysis of the problem of communism am i right there yes and no i'm not expanding it they did it never took that form it never took that form originally that's how they sold it all communism's based on deception of course we're going to help the workers and make things equal
Starting point is 00:27:38 and of course that but it never it never once took on the form that even marks envisioned it would take on it just took on as always a murderous totalitarian form and these murdering always rose to power by focusing on the malcontents of any society where they are. We in America have different ones here. That's why they changed tactics. We didn't have malcontented workers. We had angry black people who were being mistreated. We have angry gays. We have angry feminists because feminists are always frigging angry. We have angry climate change people who think your SUVs burning down the planet. They're malcontented. They're bitter. They want to burn the place down. People like, not Joe Biden, but the Klaus Schwabes of the world.
Starting point is 00:28:21 the Bill Gates is of the world, Jeff Bezos, the commies who are around Joe Biden, they know they can use those malcontents, they can use their anger to get power and burn down the country they hate. I see it more of a totalitarian movement than a doctrinaire, communist movement. These people that you've just mentioned all have one thing in common. They don't have confidence that we the people will make right decisions. They think we're a country from the jump we've always been racist we've always persecuted people but they don't they're not property driven as much as they don't want freedom freedom is what they're after so they want to impose trans communist bill but that's all communist bill they're all that way
Starting point is 00:29:12 i mean the communist takeover of north korea as you well know they were selling the same thing it's not that they were about seizing private property they saw themselves the kim the kim family as kids yeah but there's no private property in north korea jesse there's no private property in north korea i understand you're separating all totalitarian bill yes it's all totalitarian and and believe me now here's it here's a question i at the beginning of this program went over the far left media cabal that got chris licked fired and big names in there and i ran them all down what's in it for them to push this totalitarianism.
Starting point is 00:29:56 The same thing that's always in it, Bill, power. Power and money is what's in it for them because they always believe all of them do. They always believe the street communists, the Antifa, the street trash, all the way up to the Bezos. They all have convinced themselves that they will be the ones sitting at the seat of power
Starting point is 00:30:13 when all the chairs have stopped being filled after the music stops. They always convince themselves. If I burn down enough, If I help this guy burn down enough, if I destroy enough, in the end, I will get all the things I've wanted that that guy has and I'll punish my enemies and it'll work out fine. But actually, that's the only good part about communism, Bill, is in the end, it ends up eating all of them. They'll all burn in the end. Everyone goes down.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Well, either alive or dead. Final question for you. Joe Biden's the farthest left president we've ever had. He makes Obama look like Barry Goldwater. if you really understand what Biden enables, the kind of thinking he enables, just the border alone, just that alone is so insane. But I don't believe that Joe Biden has any clue about what he is doing and what it is going to lead to.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Am I wrong? No, you're not wrong. He's a useful idiot. Susan Rice is the thinking. Brian Dease is the thinking. You know all these names, Bill. All these commies who were around, they're all Barack Obama's people. Now there's no more Barack Obama to say, hey, slow down on that.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Hey, that looks bad. You have this dottering old fool as commander-in-chief who doesn't have the reins held back on any of these people. He's a useful idiot, as most communists are. All right. Are you supporting Trump or are you keeping an open mind in the GOP? I don't care either way. I like Trump a lot. I like the Santis a lot.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Trump's public comments about the COVID stuff rubbed me the wrong way right now, but I'm voting for either of them if they're the nominee, that's for sure. We've got to stop this madness. All right. The book is the anti-communist manifesto. I really like to cover. Did you design that? That's a good cover. I did. Well, I did and I didn't, Bill. I told him I wanted it very simple. I didn't want all the splashing, covering stuff. I wanted it to be simple. I wanted it to come off. mine and that's why I'm I this caught my eye it's good good luck with the book Jesse we appreciate it very much thanks for coming on thanks Bill appreciate it okay smart life so there's an outfit called Public Square you got to get a kid
Starting point is 00:32:29 to help you it's an app it's public sq dot now I couldn't find this app to save my life but I just bring in the urchin I go get this app public SQ dot and it lists all of the companies, not all, but hundreds of them, that stick up for traditional American values. This is a very easy, smart life tip. So if you can find the app yourself, more power to you. I'm an idiot. I'm a ludite.
Starting point is 00:33:05 I can't. I just pull in an urchin. Public SQ, find it for me. They do in about two seconds. And there it is. So then you can go and you can, you know, buy from those people or peruse it, whatever you want to do, Smart Life. This day in history, June 7th, 1769. Wow, that's early. So a guy named Daniel Boone begins exploring Kentucky as old Daniel. Okay. Interesting story. He's born November 2nd, 1734, outside of Philadelphia. He becomes a woodsman, all right? And he, he, He moves to North Carolina and some other places with his family, but he's basically a restless kid, and he knows everything about the woods and about rifles and knives and tomahawks, and he's got a lot of guts.
Starting point is 00:33:59 So he explores the Appalachian Mountains. This is Daniel Boone, as a young man. And he found, finally, Boonesboro in Kentucky, the first English-speaking settlement west of the Appalachians. Now the Revolutionary War breaks out. Boone, of course, is part of the militia supporting the colonies, and he fights the Native American tribes that signed on with the British. Remember, the British paid a lot of Indians to fight on their side in a Revolutionary War. Boone fought them, okay?
Starting point is 00:34:29 So, long war, but we prevailed. And then Boone got a little antsy with Kentucky and moves to Missouri, talk about, you know, wild places. And he stays there until his death, at age 85, to live that old back then, 85 the guy. And he's got bears coming out of him and Indians shooting arrows. 85. And he became very famous because a few newspaper people wrote about him. It got all over the world. He was married to his wife, Rebecca, for 50 years.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Wow, half a century. 10 children. Daniel Boone started the Kentucky exploration 254 years ago today. Back with mail and a final thought about bad parents. Okay, let's go to the mail. We got Rick Ram Denny in Argyle, Wisconsin. Hey, Bill, are we witnessing Woodrow Wilson with Joe Biden? The real question, who are the people actually controlling his presidency? and Jesse Kelly just named a few of them. Rice is gone, Ron Clayne is gone, but it's the same kind of people,
Starting point is 00:35:48 you know, very far left committed, and they just tell Biden what to do, they write a speech, and he reads them. And that's what's happening there. Ruth broke in Israel, Jordan Valley. Ruth says, I can understand why most of the Republican candidates have no chance of winning
Starting point is 00:36:09 but want to become fairly famous so they can be considered as vice president. But why has Pence gone in? I think Pence, all of them have one thing in common. They think that Trump might be derailed by all this legal stuff. Everybody's signing up to run for president on a Republican ticket. It's, look, we can't beat Trump outright, but if they take him out legally, then the field is open.
Starting point is 00:36:37 And I think that's what Pence is. considering. Kathleen Williams, Sumter, South Carolina, where the Civil War started. They billed as Mitch McConnell get credit for the fact that Merrick Garland is not on the Supreme Court. Absolutely. McConnell blocked, as you remember, Merrick Garland's nomination to the Supreme Court. So The Turtle gets credit. Gillian, our message board, 79 years ago today, American Allied soldiers embarked upon the Great Crusade, the invasion of France, a free Europe from Nazi tyranny. When I think of the sacrifices made that day, my father-in-law was wounded on Utah Beach and look at what the country is now.
Starting point is 00:37:16 My heart is grieved. A lot of traditional people feel that same way, Gillian. Even 10, 15 years ago, this radical left stuff wouldn't have been in the marketplace. It is troubling. No doubt about it. Glenda, I wish you would ask Stephen A. Smith where he draws the line with regard to live and let-lip. I feel the same way. I'm a Christian, and I hate all the woke transnational.
Starting point is 00:37:39 transgender stuff, but I do not hate transgender people. I do hate what they are trying to indoctrinate children. Not all of them. But the children thing is worrying. You got to protect the kids. They should not be indoctrinated. Pat, concierge member, Bill, good advice today about bringing stress levels down during the summer. Like you, I read an exercise on a daily basis. The other crucial thing to do to de-stress yourself is to stay off the roads. There are too many crazy. There are a lot of crazy drivers out there. There are.
Starting point is 00:38:13 I see them, boy. Carol, concierge, remember, I love to take a long walk down to the lake while listening to the no-spin news. There you go. But sometimes I agitate you. I know I do. I don't do it on purpose, but anybody was wrong opinions. It's going to be agitation sometime. but I'm glad you got the nice lake out there, Carl.

Now, I get a lot of letters saying, why don't you make the word of the day more positive sometimes? It's not as fun, but I will today, I want y'all to be perspicacious. P-E-R-S-P-I-C-C-A-C-C-I-O-U-S. I hope you are perspicacious. Back with a final thought in a moment. So here is a final thought of the day. One of the troubling things about American life is that we have so many bad parents. Now, a little background here.
Starting point is 00:39:55 My parents controlled my life for about 17 years, a little bit more, when I reached the age of 17, and I had an old jalopy that I could drive around. It was a Nash, a little box car. I called it the White Whale. It was great. Once that happened, I was on my own, essentially, which was fine with me. But my parents are traditional folks. They were way out of their league as depression in World War II. People, then when the late 60s hit, they had no idea was happening.
Starting point is 00:40:30 And it was way beyond their scope. But I had traditional upbringing, particularly my father in the financial realm. And, you know, when you're in the house, you absorb. I didn't have any crazy conduct in my house, no drinking, drugs, no denigrating minorities. That didn't, this didn't happen. All right, we lived a very conventional working class existence. So my parents were aces and I did my duty as a son and I helped them in my adulthood as much as I could possibly help them.
Starting point is 00:41:05 That's my duty, that's your duty. So anyway, there are a lot of bad parents and I knew some of them. I could see some of my friends getting a hell kicked out of them, all right, and for no reason. I thought it did hit me around a little too much, but toughened me up. There's a line. And if you have a bad parent and you're a child, that psychologically scars you forever. And you can see it. The prisons are full of people with derelict parents, parents who are addicted to substance,
Starting point is 00:41:37 they're brutal, they're violent, they're not present, they're gone. You don't have a young boy without a father. I was a big brother in a family where the father was as irresponsible as I had ever seen. I had three, okay? I know I helped them, particularly the two boys. But there are a lot of bad, bad parents. Government can't do anything about it. And we're seeing it more and more and more as the kids act out and commit crimes, become
Starting point is 00:42:12 violent, become antisocial, sell drugs, become addicted to drugs, whatever it may be. And again, the government can't do it. It can't intrude on a parenting. so when you think about what's happening in this country be a good parent and grandparent all right be kind but be honest the kids will respond to that that is a final thought thank you for watching and listening to the no spin news we'll see you again tomorrow
