Some good news over the weekend for a change. Trump got some deals made in Europe and the economy looks like it's poised to do pretty well the rest of the year. Of course, you never know. Some of my friends are exuberant about the stock market.
Starting point is 00:01:32 I urge caution. Okay? Don't dive in until you're sure you know what you want to do. But anyway, we'll get to that coming up. But first, a Wall Street Journal poll about the Democratic Party, and that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. So the Wall Street Journal surveyed 1,500 registered voters.
Starting point is 00:01:58 And they found out that the Democratic Party gets the lowest approval rating in 35 years. Wow. Okay, so we're going back into the 1990s, I guess after Bill Clinton or probably before, probably before Bill Clinton, but I don't know what year it was. But anyway, it's not a good situation for the Democrats.
Starting point is 00:02:24 So let's get specific. First question, do's not a good situation for the Democrats. So let's get specific. First question, do you have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of the Democratic Party? Favorable 33, unfavorable 63. Wow. Now, this includes independents and Republicans, of course, but that's a big number. Favorable or unfavorable opinion of the Republican Party? Favorable 43, unfavorable 54. The Democratic Party is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very
Starting point is 00:02:49 very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very I think that's a fair assessment. Now let's get to the reasons. The primary reason Democratic parties have so much trouble is its lack of problem solving. This is not a conservative liberal situation. Yes, the far left dominates the party, and it has damaged the Democrats in a very profound
Starting point is 00:03:20 way. No doubt about that. But it's a problem solving situation. So let's run it down. The biggest problem that we've had in this country after COVID is the open border. And that policy was instituted by President Biden with no dissent from the Democratic Party. It is costing The American taxpayer, $182 billion every year, every year to deal with this problem. $728 billion under Biden in four years. So we're going to get into the trillions. All right?
Starting point is 00:03:55 12 million people, that's a low estimate of how many crossed into the United States under Biden's look the other way policy, which he has never explained by the way and that's another big reason that Americans are not bullish on the Democratic Party. Biden never even told us why he was doing. All we heard was the board is secure. Of course it wasn't secure and the amount of narcotics that poured in, it was record-breaking. We're seeing that every day in crime in the streets and drug overdoses. Secondly, the economy. So under Joe Biden, inflation hit an incredible 9%. It's down about 3% now.
Starting point is 00:04:27 9%. Because Biden slapped regulations on the fossil fuel industry across the board that crippled supply lines. Made it much more expensive to get food and other items to the stores. And it drove prices up. You remember the ships backed up and the ports, that the grocery stores just are ramming everything up, restaurants, all of that because they couldn't get the supplies in. And that was because all the regulations that the Biden administration put on trucking and gasoline and harvesting is crazy. Then diversity, equity, inclusion, DEI,
Starting point is 00:05:18 Americans don't want this. Every poll shows it. They don't want it. They do not want favoritism based on skin color. Period. They don't want trans men competing with women. The Democratic Party embraces that all across the board. Urban crime.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Cities like San Francisco, Chicago, New York, LA, all in huge trouble. They cannot protect their citizens. Public safety has collapsed. All of them are under Democratic leadership. High taxes, top five tax states in the Union, California, Hawaii, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, all Democrats. And working men and women are gouged. They have no money. And finally, welfare expansion. Under President Biden, 20 million Americans were added to the welfare rolls costing $760 billion a year.
Starting point is 00:06:18 That doesn't count the undocumented who are receiving or are receiving welfare payments. Biden was the biggest spending president in history. So you add that all up, and that's why the Democratic Party is not doing well among the American population. Now, what about a turnaround? Well, it's impossible now, because there's no leader of the Democratic Party. There's no leader of the Democratic Party, there's no face. All right? I guess Barack Obama is still the most powerful Democrat, but he's not really actively involved. And there are some governors that are going to run in 28, but nobody knows who they are. Most famous Democrat outside of Barack Obama is probably Ocasio-Cortez or Bernie Sanders. And these are communist
Starting point is 00:07:06 people. So, you know, I'm a Democrat. It's going to be a tough road going forward. Midterms, you know, it's all about Trump in the midterms. Do Americans, are they fed up with him or not? But it looks like, as I said in the opening, that the economy, you know, with these trade deals and all that, so Democrats are not happy. And that is a memo. Bill O'Reilly here. I recently sat down with President Trump in Florida, and I can tell you he is laser focused on helping Americans prosper during his second term.
Starting point is 00:07:49 That's why I have joined forces with Alexander Greene, chief investment strategist at the Oxford Club, for a special presentation called The Rebirth of the American Dream. Starting point is 00:09:10 right in elected office for eight years? I actually bought political ads on your AM radio talk show. Good, and I hope they helped out. Well, you are a registered Democrat, because I asked my staff, I said, give me a smart Democrat. Give me somebody who's not going to come in here and just throw propaganda my way. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. It's what you want from the New York Post wrapped up in one snappy show. Ask your smart speaker to play the NY Postcast podcast, listen and subscribe on Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Well, you know, you talked about the polls. The polls go up and down. There have been times in the past, you said this is the lowest point for Democrats in
Starting point is 00:10:33 35 years. 35 years. Yeah. 35 years. And just in 2014, 2013, and 2017, polls showed Republicans at about the same place. So that's even more recently. So yeah, they go up and down. I don't think we've seen the effects of the tariffs
Starting point is 00:10:52 whenever they're gonna come and go, come and go on inflation. We definitely have not seen the impact of the Medicare, Medicare cuts, Medicaid cuts, especially to the rural hospitals and health caregivers. And those rural states are mostly red too, by the way, so I think that's going to have an impact. And you know, we talked about the cratering of support for or favorability for Democrats. Donald Trump's popularity has been cratering as well.
Starting point is 00:11:21 I mean, he's at 37, we're at 33, but... He's 46 in the journal poll. July 7 through July 20. You know, but we know where he is. We have him seated. The journal poll is pretty reliable. The point is that the Republicans control all three branches. They control both houses and the presidency and they have more Republican appointed Supreme Court justices. Well, the only hope you have is if people turn on Trump. But my analysis is even if that happens, they're not going to vote. They're not going to vote for you guys. They're not going to vote. They're not going to vote for you guys.
Starting point is 00:12:05 Because all of the things that I listed are in stone. They happen. So say there's an independent voters and they make the calls now. And they go, I don't think Trump's doing a good job for whatever reason, some of the reasons that you mentioned. They're not going to go in and pull a lever for Democrats after Biden and Harris and all of these people disappointed everybody so badly. They just won't vote.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Biden's first election and Obama's two elections both polled very positively with independents. And as you know, this same Wall Street Journal poll shows that independents were the biggest chunk of losses for the Republicans, 29% or something down among independents. So yes, swing voters are where it's at. I actually think part of the problem is that voters, first of all, as you know, politics is mostly emotional, not so rational. It's about how people identify and how they feel about things.
Starting point is 00:13:05 And so that can be very different than reality. And that's about getting the message and the messengers to deliver the message in a clear and strong way. But who is the messenger? You don't have a leader. The Democratic Party has no leader. It's not just that. I could go through a list of people.
Starting point is 00:13:22 You name some of them. I think they're very articulate. But nobody knows who they are. There's not one Democrat outside of the communist faction. Until the convention, nobody knew who Obama was either. So in the next election, we're gonna get closer to the election cycle, to the campaign cycle. Messengers will emerge.
Starting point is 00:13:40 Who? Who? Buttigieg. Bretchen Whitmer. Buddha Judge? You can't even, the average air traffic controller situation is desperate. Well, well, well, well, well, well,
Starting point is 00:13:54 Doc. But nobody knows who the Governor Moore, nobody knows who he is. Gavin Newsom is poison for your party. You've got to know that. It's not time. But I want to make a little bit of a different point
Starting point is 00:14:08 on kind of as a political scientist, the voters clearly in the mom, Donnie, and they're going to call him a communist. We'll talk about communism later maybe, but his election in the mayoral primary Democrat, and Biden's, I mean, Trump's election as president has a really clear message for all of us, which is voters are tired of and they don't want to support candidates who are canned, candidates who are scripted, candidates who are handled. I agree with that, but you're getting,
Starting point is 00:14:39 you're putting, remember, Doc, remember Sarah Palin when she got the nomination in Minneapolis, the famous line that she stole, you're putting lipstick on a pig. Alright, so Mamdani is a communist. The guy wants to see- No, he's a democratic socialist, just like everybody- That's what he says he is. But then when you read his screeds, he wants to seize control of the private economy,
Starting point is 00:15:12 which is... Yes, that's what he said. That's what he said. I've listened to him four times. I live here. You live there, I live here. I know what he says Okay
Starting point is 00:15:28 Democrat just like everybody in Scandinavia the Democratic Socialists and they're not communists way more than that Way more than that now listen if you're gonna bank on man, Donnie to be a positive for the Democratic Party You're gonna be sorely disappointed. that was the message of his win. His win was 22%. Only 22% of the Democratic registered voters cast a ballot in their primary. That was nothing. It's New York. It's chaos.
Starting point is 00:16:00 He's not going to win the mayoral race, but what they're going to do... We can talk about the mayoral race. But what they're going to do Doc, you know, we can talk about the mayoral race another time. The point is no no we're not let me talk about it now The republicans doctor give me 30. I'll give you 30 Republicans are going to tie a millstone the democratic millstone is going to say democrats right around this guy's neck Okay, and that's what they're going to do because he's so far out there. But just the fact that you brought him up and we're talking about him now shows there isn't one mainstream Democrat, not one.
Starting point is 00:16:41 OK, that can spur the message of the Democratic Party. There isn't anybody. I like Chris Murphy. I like who is he? Nobody knows him. No, Chris Murphy. Gavin Newsom. I like... Gavin Newsom?
Starting point is 00:16:51 You've got presidents who lost their first run and then won the second term. And presidents two times, Cleveland and Trump, won a first term, lost a second, came back for a third. So I don't write off Kamala Harris even. I got one specific question for you. When Gavin Newsom took over from Jerry Brown in
Starting point is 00:17:10 California, the state had a surplus of more than $100 million. So you're now $34 billion in debt or something? And you like him? I said, I like him. I, I have, why you like his hair? Guys as inefficient as any politician I've ever seen and Buddha judges second. You can't even get on a plane. I'm going to go back to two things. You said one is that DEI is about showing favorability for people because of their skin color. That is not what it is. Equity, that is what equity is and that's in the E.I.
Starting point is 00:17:48 People who want to misinform and mislead the public are saying that, but I worked in that business in civil rights legislation. Look up equity. Favoritism to certain groups. Look it up. There was favoritism for white men for 200 years. So what? So what? But this is not favoritism for white men for 200 years. So what? So what? But this is not favoritism. You don't correct a historical wrong by instituting another wrong. I've heard you say that before too, but you know what? You didn't write the Constitution and still you want the rights that it presents you.
Starting point is 00:18:18 I want everybody to have an equal opportunity to pursue happiness. You can't just pick the parts of history that benefit you. Come on, doctor, you know DEI is deeply unpopular. You know it's deeply unpopular. About what it is. It's unpopular the way it's presented, the way you just said, which is not what it is. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:18:39 Yes, it is. It's favoritism towards certain groups. Don't give me that. It is favoritism towards certain groups. No, don't give me that. It is favoritism. Recruit a workforce, a qualified workforce that looks like America. It's that simple. That's favoring certain people based on skin color
Starting point is 00:18:57 and ethnicity. It's an aspiration, not a policy. Aspiration is fine. Knocking people out because they're not the right color isn't, and that's what the Democrats support. The Supreme Court has ruled on this. Why do you think DEI is so far down in the polls? You realize it's 60-65%?
Starting point is 00:19:18 It's because of the narrative conveyed by people like you, who are giving misinformation to people in this state. My information? Look it up. Look up equity, look up the definition. I could read you Title VII, word for word. It prevents employment, fiscal, financial, credit, housing discrimination against protected classes of people. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:19:38 That's fine. We're talking about hiring and admissions to universities. You don't do that on skin color. And they have been doing it and you know it. And the Supreme Court has said, you don't do that on skin color. And they have been doing it and you know it. And the Supreme Court has said that you don't. The Supreme Court agrees with that. And you don't think colleges and employers do that? You don't think Boulder does that?
Starting point is 00:19:55 Come on. I don't think they choose a less qualified person because of their skin color, no. All right. Look, I wanna go, next time you visit the land of Oz, I wanna go with you. visit the land of Oz. I want to go with you. Is this land of Oz? I appreciate the I appreciate the lively debate, doctor. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:20:14 All right. Bias in the media. One of the reasons the Democratic Party's descent in the Wall Street Journal poll is so shocking is that the corporate media is still backs them but the corporate media is falling off the cliff Just like the party. So this is in latest. Okay, so newsbusters is a conservative outfit and They are pretty good with their studies. I've never seen them Take stats and me manipulate them as other people do I've never seen them take stats and manipulate them as other people do.
Starting point is 00:20:48 I haven't seen that from newsbusters. So here are the stats, all right? So Colbert is the poster boy now for guys getting hammered because they're far left, right? In 20, since 2022, we're talking about two and a half years, Colbert has hosted 176 left-leaning guests, only one Republican. Guess who the Republican was?
Starting point is 00:21:12 Liz Cheney, who hates Trump. Okay, that's the only reason she signed up. This year alone, first half of the year, Colbert had 43 left-leaning political guests zero conservatives way to go Stevie, baby now all of them late night 99% of political guests on late night comedy shows lean left 99% in the first half of this year Okay
Starting point is 00:21:43 January 6 June 30th a hundred and sixty, 106 liberal Democrats, one conservative. Who was a conservative? A guy named Orrin Cass, founder of a right-wing think tank. He appeared on The Daily Show. Hey, Mike Baker here, host of the President's Daily Brief podcast. If you want straight talk on national security, foreign policy, and the biggest global stories going on of the day, this is the show for you. We publish twice a day, Monday through Friday, once in the morning, again in the afternoon.
Starting point is 00:22:11 And on the weekend, we go longer with the PDB Situation Report with excellent guests, including national security insiders and foreign policy experts. Check us out on Spotify, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts. Also on our YouTube channel, at Presidents Daily Brief. Kimmel, Myers, Fallon, Colbert and The Daily Show. That's John Stewart. He only does it once a week. They won't book you.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Now, it'll be interesting to see for confronting evil. If Stewart books me, I don't know whether he will or not. He gets astronomical ratings when he does. We have a long history of very interesting segments. See if he does or not. Now we're going to ask them all to book me. Kim O'Fallon, whole crew, and I'll report back to you. When I go on, the ratings go up on the bestselling nonfiction author in the world.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Books are phenomenal. 19 number one bestseller. Why wouldn't you book me? I'm pretty handsome, right? And they have a battery of makeup people. And they all have 10 writers, so it's 10 against one. You should be able to beat me with 10 guys who are called Stuart it's 10 against 1. You should be able to beat me with 10 guys who are called Stuart. I said, yeah, you should be able
Starting point is 00:23:29 to beat me. It's me against your 12 guys back there writing anti-O'Reilly jokes. We'll see. It'll be a very interesting study. So the danger all lives at late night and the morning follows, too. Mornings like that are not quite as bad. GMA, Today Show, all that. It creates an aura of propaganda. That's what the doctor was calling me a propagandist. She doesn't think DEI favors groups, which of course it does, but what are you going to do?
Starting point is 00:24:01 I thought she was a good guest. So it creates this bubble of propaganda where uninformed people who live in the left-wing world, they believe this stuff. So if you never see a moderate voice, always see left-wing people late night and in the morning on a network show, what do you think you're going to do if you don't know very much? And that's what's happening. And it happened yesterday, Sunday. So my pal Stephen A. Smith was on This Week with Jonathan Karl, and he texted me, he says, watch and critique me, which I did. And Smith is always good, very lively, and makes his points.
Starting point is 00:24:41 But Karl is a nitwit. I'm sorry, John. I'm sorry, you I'm sorry you are and I'm gonna prove it now So there were two sound bites that I'm gonna show you The first one is that they're talking about Tulsi Gabbard Who overstated her case by the way?
Starting point is 00:25:03 Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard way overstated her case. by the way, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, way overstated her case. She outkicked her coverage. There is a thread of truth in what she has, but then she exaggerated it. Okay, here's what Carl said, go. So let's start with what we saw in the White House this week.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, coming out and making some extraordinary claims about Barack Obama, the President of the United States, accusing Obama of treason. Again, no evidence whatsoever for any of this stuff. Yeah, there's plenty of evidence. Barack Obama as president presided over meetings that talked about Russian collusion with the head of the CIA, the head of the FBI, who were both in serious trouble for passing on false information. Obama was at those meetings.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Now that doesn't mean he did anything wrong. But surely you need to investigate what happened at those meetings, right? You can't go on the air and ABC, well you can, but I said there's no evidence. That's evidence. The President, Barack Obama held meetings discussing Russian collusion with guys who allegedly falsified information. That's evidence. Okay. All right. The second one is about Kamala Harris using her $2 billion campaign fund to pay celebrities to say good things about them.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Go. Trump actually suggested last night that Kamala Harris should be prosecuted for allegedly buying the votes, endorsements of celebrities like Beyonce. Again, no evidence to this stuff. Bull! There's plenty of evidence. If you're giving money to anybody to help you in your campaign, that's an in-kind donation. Okay? So, Oprah, as widely reported, got more than a million dollars to put on an event for Harris. That came out of her money, campaign money. Bruce Springsteen got $75,000.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Beyonce got $165,000. Beyonce didn't do Jack. I don't think she even sang a song. That's evidence, John. Think Carl, what is wrong with you? Now, Trump exaggerated it as he sometimes does. Here's what he said, quote, I'm looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats after the presidential election
Starting point is 00:28:06 and in fact they admit to paying, probably illegally, $11 million to singer Beyonce for an endorsement. No. Nobody admitted paying $11 million to Beyonce because A, it didn't happen and be We can't find it and We we would have found it Now there was some obscure nut on the internet not even a Organization that said something but you can't do that and that just gives the Jonathan Carls
Starting point is 00:28:47 Who are not reporting honestly, openings. Just keep it in the fact zone. But there's absolutely evidence that the Harris campaign spent money to get these celebrities surrounding her, whether it's illegal or not, is for the FEC to take a look at. That's how you fairly report this. Boy, the vicious organization Media Matters looks like it's going down a drain according to the New York Times. Good. All anonymous sources, because that's what the Times does, says that the media matters owes 15 million to fight all kinds of lawsuits against it, and they're going to have to go out of business. And this is rich.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Mark Elias, who, remember Scott Pelley bringing in Elias? Elias right in the middle of the Russian collusion stuff, right in the middle of it. He's a lawyer. He's Hillary Clinton's top friend, right in the middle of it. Pelley on 60 Minutes brings him in to hammer Trump. I reported extensively on it. Doesn't even tell the audience that Elias is a buddy. Well, Elias is suing Media Matters, because Media Matters is stiffening him on his fees.
Starting point is 00:30:13 They're all going, see, cliff, here they come. Boop, bang, good. They're not honest. And the media is also under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission, where allegations that colluded with advertisers to stop conservative points of view. Worse than that, they defame. They've defamed me all day long. So I hope they go out of business, along with Gawker, Hulk Hogan, RIP, drove Gawker out.
Starting point is 00:30:48 This is a very important story. So Donald Trump, Scotland meets with Surma of England, the PM there, and in a Q&A, here's what Trump says, go. Early here you said that you were going to change the deadline from February days to 20-30 deadlines. I'm going to make a new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today. There's no reason in waiting. There's no reason in waiting.
Starting point is 00:31:18 It's 50 days. I want to be generous, but we just don't see any progress being made. So the president says he's gonna make an official announcement either tonight or tomorrow about what he's gonna do with Putin. And Europe's on board. They already know. And good, again, you can't just let this guy run wild.
Starting point is 00:31:40 I got a thing about Putin coming up in a final thought because the audio for confronting evil, we just got our copies and I'm going to play a little bit about Putin. EU trade deal, pretty good deal, looks to me on paper, you never know of course. Here's what it says, 15% all European nation countries will pay to get their stuff into the United States. A lot of money. The EU has agreed to buy 750 billion worth of American energy. 600 billion, it will invest in the infrastructure of the USA. And it's pretty good. So on News Nation, a democratic strategy named David Carlucci, of course, he's going to say this, goes in and trashes the deal. Roll it.
Starting point is 00:32:32 No, it's just an unprovoked trade war. We all know that. We've had problems now with Canada, with Mexico even, and now with the European Union. We see these promises to buy military equipment or to invest in US energy. Well, the proof is in the pudding The proof is in the pudding What kind of a moronic statement is that he just signed a great deal for the USA? What is wrong with these people?
