I got a little cold here. I apologize. We'll soldier through it. I haven't had a cold in 10 years.
It's so annoying these colds, but there's nothing you can do. I mean, I thought my immune system
was pretty solid in fighting this stuff off, but, you know, happens. Happens to everybody.
So here's something really interesting. I live on the north shore of Long Island, and then I have
another house on the tip of Long Island, South Shore. Very lucky. I really regard myself as very
lucky because I grew up in a very tiny house in Levittown. So out on the South Fork, the ocean
is taking revenge. I mean, it's bad. And I'm going, whoa, but after 10 years, I haven't
anything like this. So I don't know what's going to happen out there. Now, my house isn't in
peril. It's on a big hill. But all other stuff around the beach is. And the town is. And it's bad.
And it's nature and there's nothing anybody can do about it. Whether the Army Corps of Engineers
have been able to come in there and shore up some of the shoreline on Long Island, I hope they will.
It's one of the most beautiful places in the world because of our shoreline here.
But it's bad.
On the north shore, I live in a very safe neighborhood.
Private road, neighbors are alert, no chaos.
There hasn't a break-in of my neighbor in 30 years.
There was over the weekend.
First time in 30 years, a home.
invasion. Excuse me. Anyway, so I get a call and the police are all over the place,
and they knock on the door and I talked to him, but I didn't really have what
happened. So I went over to the guy's house who had this breaking, about 18 hours
after it happened. I want to give everybody time to do what they do.
And it seems that a couple of guys weren't pros, by the way, were not professionals,
went around back of this guy's house and got in through a window,
which set off an alarm, so they bolted.
But before they bolted, they saw car keys, grabbed the car keys, and stole the guys
BMW.
So I'm sitting there
and the guy's walking me through it
and I said,
what did the police tell you? And he goes,
well, not very much. They don't even know
how many guys there were.
And I said,
there were two. And the guy
looks at me and goes, how do you know?
I said, because
one guy
drove away in your car,
but he had to get here. He couldn't
walk.
So another guy had to drive him.
And that window is so small, there couldn't have been three or four guys.
That'd be one guy come in.
The other guy was probably in a car.
And he goes, wow, wow.
I said, look, I'm not Colombo, but this was not a professional job.
I said, did you take anything in your house?
No.
Nothing else take.
I said, this was clowns, destructive clowns.
So, the cops find the stolen car in a housing project in Newark, New Jersey.
And that doesn't make sense, because if you steal a BMW, there's a nice car.
You take it to a chop shop, and they give you money, and then they chop it up or change the plate, so it would do what they do.
That's what you do. That's what car thieves do.
these idiots
slash the tires of the car
in the parking lot
and did a little more vandalism
and that was it
and they ran away.
So I got to thinking
what kind of an
idiots would do this.
They're not even in it for the money.
I guess it's a thrill thing.
But then I said, you know,
if they get caught,
what's going to happen to him?
And the answer is, not much.
Even Grand Theft Auto in the state of New York, you're not going to prison.
These thugs know that.
So these guys are probably blasted.
They were probably joyriding around.
This guy whose house looked, whatever, they did what they did.
Interesting story.
But now the neighborhood is like, you know, got bazookas out because of this.
Thank you.
