I hope you didn't get caught up in the monsoon this morning.
Pretty bad.
But I guess it's better than what?
24 inches of snow?
I like a white Christmas like everybody likes,
but it's New York and it snows its Armageddon.
Yeah, the rain was not pleasant,
but I'd much prefer to have the rain.
Now, this isn't a weather forecast today.
We're going to talk about Mayor Adams.
And I still trying to get a handle on the guy, you know.
Met him a couple of times.
Very respectful and small conversation with him, which is decent.
He's in trouble.
He's in trouble because of the migrant situation.
And he doesn't understand why he's in trouble.
So he goes on Channel 11, picks on politics, that's WPIX.
yesterday, and he says this, roll it.
New Yorkers are angry. They're angry.
At you or the situation? They angry at the, just the totality of where they see this
situation has brought us. And, you know, beginning of the year and even into the year,
they thought this was Eric Adams, just opening our city up, not looking at the impact
of what this crisis. And we had to do a real job of explaining to every day New Yorkers
that the federal government has abandoned
of this important issue.
That's a national issue.
So they're angry, and it's going to come out.
I'm the mayor.
And so you're going to point towards the mayor.
If your trains are not on time,
if your trash is not picked up,
if you seize cuts in services,
that is my role.
I have to navigate us through this.
So here's a mistake that Adams is making.
New Yorkers across the board
understand the insanity
of the open,
border. And that's not Mayor Adams' fault. That's Joe Biden's fault. It's on him and him alone.
Biden is the cause of the open border. As we've said many, many times, one executive border,
one executive order, stopping asylum claims stops the madness. Okay. But Adams made a big deal
out of propping up the sanctuary city movement.
and went out of his way a number of times
and say, we welcome all migrants here to New York City.
We don't care whether you come legally or not,
you come to our town.
And now 50% of working people in New York City are foreign-born.
Why? Because there are service jobs here.
You can make some money.
Okay?
If I are a migrant, I wouldn't come to New York.
is way too expensive. I would go to a more moderate place. But anyway, so Adams was cheerleading
this sanctuary movement. And so he's identified with it. And his progressive pals have now
turned their back on him. Oh, what a surprise. Joe Biden's not going to give you billions of
dollars to pay for the millions of migrants. They're heading to New York.
And I say millions because I think that's what it's going to be.
You know, they say hundreds of thousands, but I, you know,
there are a lot of people uncounted that have come across that southern border.
And Adam then had the money to pay for the services.
And Adam is a big service guy.
Yeah, we'll give everybody everything.
Come on up.
You want a house?
We got a house for you.
Hotel room?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Food?
Sure.
Want to put your kid in public school?
Go right ahead.
even if the child doesn't speak English, you put them right in there.
Get sick, you go to the city hospitals.
Go to the emergency room, no charge, boom, boom, boom.
Well, you can imagine.
So, yeah, New Yorkers don't think that Eric Adams doing a good job.
Number one, he was wrong on the issue from the beginning.
Sanctuary cities that defy federal immigration law are wrong.
And they're stupid.
And we can't take everybody all over the world.
All right, do we all have that?
So now Eric Adams, some people say, getting what he deserves,
the unintended consequences of him supporting the sanctuary movement.
Here they are.
And so his approval ratings about 30%.
I don't know if he can recover from this.
The election where he held tomorrow, if there was a decent moderate candidate run against them,
I think that moderate candidate would beat him.
Thank you.
