Starting point is 00:00:00 So you remember that on November 14, 2013, two men were charged in the Bronx with beating up two New York City police officers. Okay, this was on a subway platform. The officers asked them to move along. I think they were smoking pot, and they attacked the officers. And they were charged on November 14th, 2003. So now it's August 21st, all right, 2004. Nine months later, still haven't been charged. These guys are, I mean, they still haven't been indicted. We don't know what the charges are. So they appeared in court today, but it was rescheduled again.
Starting point is 00:00:53 I don't even know if they showed up. So this is from John Nuttall. Communications Director for the Police Benevolent Association. All right? So he met, we asked him questions. He emailed us and said, cases reschedule. I think this is the seventh time, something like that. So why?
Starting point is 00:01:14 Why is this so hard? Why aren't these guys charged with felonious assaults, a felony? Selt in a second degree, whatever it may be. Why? Now they're gone, and they're not being held. They're out. seven months what's going on nine months i'm sorry i'm correcting myself here and i'll tell you what's going on the bronx d a d doesn't want to charge them they want to plea it down and the cops don't
Starting point is 00:01:42 want to flee it down and that's the contention here so the two guys are thugs i mean there's no doubt about it koree mcclary and isaiah jessamy and they're out running around doing whatever they want to do and nine months later there's still um there was supposed to be arraigned nine months ago and i haven't it's just crazy and once you have it you know i did this yesterday and i don't want to be repetitive and redundant we don't have a justice system in new york city anymore it's collapsed so you're telling me that you can beat up two police officers and they they can't charge you or won't charge you after nine months? You've been charged you after three days.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Oh, and I'm tracking it. I'm not letting it go. But I don't even think these guys will ever see the inside of a prison cell. That is the crazy, progressive left-wing justice system we have in New York City and state. And the majority of New Yorkers voted for it.
Starting point is 00:02:50 They want it. They want it. Why? Why? Why wouldn't you want to protect New York City police officers from this? You imagine the cops and their families. Imagine that. The guy comes up and tries to, you know, hurt you physically and nothing happens?
Starting point is 00:03:08 See, you guys walking around? How outrageous is this? Where's Mayor Adams on this? Where is he? He's nowhere on it. Where's the New York City press on this? I'm the only one covering it, I think. I don't know if anybody else on WABC has mentioned.
Starting point is 00:03:25 mentioned it, we're usually pretty good, this radio station on covering situations like this. I know we're distracted with all the politics and all that, I understand, but really, it's so outrageous. Couldn't have happened even 10 years ago. This could not have happened. But we have reached critical mass in New York City and state. The justice system has collapsed. Not only criminal justice, but civil justice. I hope you never have to get involved with litigation in New York. It is a nightmare. It'll cost you a bleeding fortune. Delay after, delay after, delay after delay.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Finally, they cracked down on the speeders, on the Long Island Expressway, people are doing 110. Now there's a big sign. You know, we're cracking down on you. Well, what took you so long? 110? And it's not uncommon. If you drive that expressway, you've got to watch your butt.
Starting point is 00:04:22 People are totally out of control because they know they got away with it. Anyway, we will stay on this story about these two police officers. It is horrible, but I don't have any optimism that the justice will be served here. I don't.
