So, as you know, the big story dominating the New York area is a protest at Columbia and NYU and other places.
And we've gone over and over and over.
You've seen it.
The cops expel them and all of that.
And I'm going to make a couple of broad points on the national side.
But I want to talk locally about Senator Chuck Schumer.
So he is the most powerful Jewish American in the United States.
far in a way.
The moguls out in California, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg, they're powerful.
David Geffen, they are extremely wealthy and they pump lots of money into the progressive world.
They're powerful, but they're not nearly as powerful as Schumer who decides what the Senate is going to vote on.
Now Schumer is from Brooklyn. You probably know that. And he's been in the Senate forever. And he's in no jeopardy of being voted out. And he is a guy who in the beginning was very pro-Israel. And he was a much more traditionally based politician when he began his career as a senator.
So remember, Daniel, Patrick Moynihan was a senior senator here, and Bobby Kennedy was a senior, was a senator here.
And Schumer wasn't, you know, he was not in the spotlight.
But increasingly over the years, Schumer has become a progressive leftist.
I don't know how it happened.
I don't know.
And he's Biden's best friend in the Senate.
Biden's best friend of politics. If you notice at the State of the Union address, Schumer was
like attached physically to Biden as they walked in the room. And I'm sure that Biden is talking
to Schumer more than a few times a week. Schumer has bought into the progressive movement
which controls the Democratic Party. It took Schumer 13 days, 13 days.
to comment on the protests in Manhattan.
Finally, yesterday on the Senate floor, here's what he said.
Free speech, discussion, and even strong disagreement
are fundamental American values,
and campuses should be places where those values are cherished.
Campuses cannot be places of learning and argument and discussion
when protests veer into criminality.
And those who commit such acts are doing nothing to convince others that their cause is just.
All right.
It have been now statement means nothing.
And it was coordinated with Biden's statement.
It took Biden 13 days to say anything.
And I'm going to read that statement later on in the broadcast tonight.
But Schumer and Biden put out their statements pretty much at the same time, coordinating them.
because they know the Democratic Party is getting hurt by all this
because the Democratic Party is largely silent or, like Ocasio-Cortez,
very happy that all of these protests and anti-Israel stuff is happening.
Ocasio-Cortez hates Israel.
I don't know how you go to Boston University, heavily Jewish, because I went there,
and hold that point of view.
and I'll submit to you, she probably did not
when she was a student at BU, but I don't know.
But anyway, Schumer is now so ingrained.
She's like Nancy Pelosi, so ingrained
that he's just not doing the right thing.
He's just putting his finger up to the wing going,
oh, you know, I can't.
It's not what we need.
where's schumer on all the quality of life decline in new york city you never hear him say anything about
it this is poor leadership schumer is a poor leader i didn't i think mcconnell's a poor leader too
so that now we got two in the senate mcconnell's getting out of the leadership and i hope schumer
the senate will go to the gop so schumer gets booted as well
