We got a lot of politics tonight. If you like that, you're going to love the no-spin news tonight. Big Republican debate last night. I was a part of it. We will show you what happened, and we will fact-check a bunch of stuff that you'll find interesting, I think. So that's coming up after the first break. But let's go local here for the monologue. Quinebiac poll.

Quibiak is a college in Connecticut. Good school. good school great hockey team but good academically and nice polling outfit they called up 1,27 registered voters and they talked about mayor Eric Adams okay first question do you approve or disapprove the way Adams is handling his job as mayor approved 28 percent oh whoa now this poll was conducted throughout the five boroughs of New York City so that it wasn't it was All city people. 58, disapproved, don't know 14.

Yet it's 14% of New Yorkers don't know who the mayor is. All right. So Adams is down 30% job approval. Do you approve of the way Adams is handling crime? Approved 33, disapprove 60. Homelessness, approved 22. Disapproved 72. Whoa.

Migrants, approved 26. disapproved 66. So Eric Adams is in trouble in this day and time. Now here's why. There are two reasons. One of them is beyond Adams' control and that is the flood of migrants into New York City, which is affecting every single New Yorker. Yes, you can make the case that Adams is a sanctuary city guy. He encouraged illegal migration and now he's paying a price for that. but he did not do the open border. That's Biden. Okay?

Not his fault. The border is open. He didn't do anything to stop it and encourage a sanctuary situation, but he didn't do it. The second reason that he's getting hammered, Adams, is because he has poor advisors. So I'll give you a couple of examples. Eric Adams is not visible enough on the street. He's got his little jacket, okay, and he goes around once in a while, but he should be far more present out in front of the television cameras.

If I were him, I'd be directing traffic. I would take a traffic beat. All right, I'd have the traffic person alongside me, but I do a photo op and say, look, I hate this. and I'm trying to do something about the traffic congestion. And the same thing with the homeless thing. I go down to the homeless camps and the mayor talk to the people and say, look, we got facilities for you.

You can't stay here. But Adams doesn't do that. He's not hands-on enough. I think that Adams is well-intentioned. I think that he wants to do a good job. but I don't think he sees the big picture. Now, this is in contrast to Bill de Blasio, who did not care about doing a good job. It's all about power for him.

All right? So city went to hell for eight years under de Blasio, and Adams inherited that hell. De Blasio did not care, and to this day would not tell you that he did anything wrong. In de Blasio's foggy world, he was brilliant. He was the greatest mayor ever. Adams wants, I believe I could be wrong, what's best for the folks. But you've got to wise up, Mr. Mayor. You need some people in there that's going to give you better advice, because this is a debacle.

The city is falling apart. And the poll shows it. and you're going to be held accountable. And no one's going to save you. Hokel's not going to save you. She'll kick you to the curb so fast. You wouldn't even know where the shoe hits you. Biden's not helping you with the migrant.

He's not going to give you a nickel. He gives New York City money. He's got to give everybody money. Biden's not going to do it. All right? And that would mean that Biden would admit that his open border is a catastrophe, which you'll never do.

So you need some wise hands. Mayor Adams, you ought to fire everybody and get new people in, tough people, people who really care about the fabric of the city. Or you're going to be a one-termer.
