Two interesting local stories today.
The first is February 13th will be a special election to replace the grifter George Santos,
who was booted out of the House of Representatives.
As you know, he is my, was my congressman, and he's got.
So now Governor Hockel says we'll have a special vote, February 13th, to replace that seat.
and because the margin announced a representative between Republicans and Democrats is so small,
this is a very important election.
So I expect Democrat Tom Swazi, who used to be a congressman from Long Island.
I expect him to run.
I know him.
He's a good man.
I don't know if he'd stand up against a progressive left.
That's my problem with Swazi.
He's not progressive himself.
He's moderate.
But is he going to stand up?
On the Republican side, I think it's going to be Jack Martins, former state senator.
You know, he knows the turf, but I'm going to pay close attention because I didn't pay close attention to Santos, and I regret it.
It's my job to watch these people.
I voted for Santos, and I didn't know anything about him, and that was on me.
Okay, so this time I'm going to pay attention.
Second story that I picked up was a, is, I should say, a poll.
This comes from American Pulse, and they're pretty good.
All right, so they are tracking former governor Andrew Cuomo in New York State.
And they had a couple of very interesting questions.
Number one, if the 2025 Democratic United States Senate primary election
were held today, and you had to choose, would you vote for Andrew Cuomo or Eric Adams?
This poll assumes Adams may want to be a national politician.
So, 44% of New Yorkers say they would support Andrew Cuomo.
Eric Adams, 24%.
Whoa.
Second question, primary held today, would you support Andrew Cuomo?
Andrew Cuomo or Christian Gillibrand, who is the incumbent senator.
Gillibrand, 49%, Cuomo 35.
That's not good news for Andrew Cuomo, because I know he's looking at that Senate seat,
but I believe that Cuomo wants to be governor again.
Also, in the poll, favorable, unfavorable, Eric Adams, favorable, favorable, favorable.
favorable 35% unfavorable 59% that's all the migrant stuff right there
Adams going south fast Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez favorable 57 unfavorable 33 wow that's
New York.
57%
like a very radical left
congressperson.
O AOC.
57. I'm shocked.
Andrew Cuomo, favorable,
unfavorable, unfavorable.
43, favorable.
Unfavorable 47.
So that's a close.
So those are interesting numbers.
I think as the country
becomes more and more
damaged by the Biden administration. We're going to get into that in a national part of common
sense coming up after the first break. But as the country sinks deeper and deeper into the
morass of unsolved problems, some of this, but New York is a very intense liberal state.
California is the worst. Illinois is second. Massachusetts third, New York firm. Four.
as far as out of control, progressive thought.
Oregon is up there with New York, Washington State, not close behind.
I guess it's a coastal thing.
I don't know whether it's the ocean breeze or whatever.
So I expect to see Andrew Cuomo back in the arena.
I can almost guarantee he doesn't want to be mayor.
Who would want to be mayor at this point of New York City?
Senate, I think you'd probably take it, but Gillibrand, she's a real progressive and she's in there tight.
Okay.
Hockel's weak, Cuomo might be able to beat her.
Okay, so keep your eye on all of that.
