So there is a study from the Cato Institute, C-A-T-O. Cato is a libertarian group, all right? They're pretty good. They don't spin. And they did a study on overall freedom in America. And they evaluated all 50 states. Here are the least free states. in the USA.

Number 10, Minnesota. Number nine, Vermont. Number eight, Maine. Number seven, Delaware, six, Maryland, five, Oregon, four, New Jersey, three, California, to Hawaii, number one, least free state in the union, New York. Are you surprised?

I'm not. The study is based on individual freedom as far as taxes, regulations, and what you can do personally. Now, if you're living in New York, you're going, well, what's the beef here? I'll tell you what the beef is. New York State, and of course, the city of New York, which has. its own tax, takes more of your money, hard-earned in most cases, than any other state. So you are less free to buy what you want, to invest where you want, to live where you want, because the state and city taking so much of your money.

Number two, regulations. Try getting a gun permit in New York. They will torture you. Even if you need it, even if you can back up why you need it, you will be tortured just for wanting to protect yourself. Another example, personal freedom. to be able to go where I want to go. That's freedom for me. So if I wake up in the morning and say, hey, you know, I want to go and I want to go down to see the Statue of Liberty. Because I haven't been there in a while and it inspires me. Oh, well, how long is that going to take me from Nassau County to go to the Statue of Liberty? three hours in, three hours back? Very possible. Personal freedom as far as movement in New York City area is insane. We can't move because of the traffic. And if you choose to take the subway or the buses, you are subjected to all kinds of indignity. And worse, you could be assaulted easily.

That's personal freedom, cuts in on what we can and can't do. So out of all the states in the Union, New York is the lease free. Now, Hawaii, you would think, Hawaii, wait a minute, beach combing, Hawaii takes so much of your money there because it is the most progressive state. And Jersey is number four. California, we all know. Jersey is the same kind of situation. Taking your money.

Now, here are the most free states. Just in case you want to file it away. 10, Michigan, 9, Wyoming, 8, Nevada, 7, Idaho, 6, Texas, 5, Georgia, 4, Tennessee, 3, South Dakota, to Florida. Number one, most free state, New Hampshire. New Hampshire is so chilly. That's the problem. It's a great place. So cold.

And Florida is so hot. So you're paying for climate. And I don't know. Let's see if I like that. So I thought you guys would like that information. It comes from Cato again. You want to check it out. We're the least free state and city here in New York.
