Starting point is 00:00:00 And I'm looking at the proposed tax height for New York State. So this is, you know, people don't believe me when I tell them that progressive zealots, I mean, far-left people, and they dominate in Albany now. They're dominating the state. They want to collapse the government. They want to collapse capitalism. They want to collapse all the traditions that we have in the United States and New York states. and they want to build up this quasi-socialistic system. And the best way to collapse is to bankrupt it.
Starting point is 00:00:41 And that's what's going to happen in New York State if this continues. So the Assembly and the Senate have approved tax rates as much as $2.2 billion. Keep in mind, New York is the highest tax state in the union. worse than California. Okay? So, Hockel, an ardent Democrat, but I wouldn't say she's a progressive loon.
Starting point is 00:01:13 She gives in to the loons, but I wouldn't put her in that category herself. She says she'll veto it. We'll see. All right? So a lot of this new tax is on people who earn a lot of money. And it goes up and up and up and up and up.
Starting point is 00:01:34 And also on corporations. And of course, when you tax corporations, Albany, the additional money that they have to pay to you is passed on to the consumer who is barely getting by now. But they don't care. Okay. So we here are looking at, at hundreds of thousands of people fleeing New York State. These progressive nuts know this.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Okay, they don't care. They don't care. And so they're going to attack the affluent and corporations and demand more taxation. But it's more than that. So here's an interesting story. About a month ago, I was in Sag Harbor out in Suffolk County, nice little town, right on the water, very affluent area, and I was meeting friends for dinner. I parked my car behind the restaurant. It was dark in the parking lot. I went into the restaurant, had my meal, got out, got in the car, and went out the ramp to Main Street, Sag Harbor, and I made a left. I was immediately pulled over by a Sag Harbor police officer. I rolled down my window.
Starting point is 00:03:04 I'm always polite in these circumstances. I said, officer, did I do something wrong? He goes, yes, you went down a one-way street. I said, it's not even a street. it's a ramp coming out of the parking lot he goes license and registration anyway the guy writes me a ticket believe me when i tell you i didn't see any one-way sign i don't even know if there was one i mean it was it was such a small picayune thing i couldn't believe it so the guy was i could tell he didn't like me at all not unusual out there in those precincts it's kind of 50-50 it's kind of 50-50
Starting point is 00:03:43 In Montauk, a different situation, it's 90-10. I'm pretty popular there. But it depends where you are. But this guy, you know, he was going to give me a ticket. And I didn't say anything further than that. I don't argue with him. So because I did it. I did it.
Starting point is 00:04:04 All right. I get the ticket. There's a $93 charge from the state of New York, which jacks the ticket. it up to 250 bucks. Number one, Sag Harbor charged me 150 bucks for coming out of one-way street. All right, just so you know. And then the state of New York tax on 93 for what? I don't know. It's what they call a stealth tax. You don't know what that is. Why am I paying $93 to the state? So I'm writing a check for $250 for this. I mean, you couldn't get any. smaller than this. This is the state we live in. Where every time you turn around, they're trying
Starting point is 00:04:53 to pick your pocket. They're trying to take your wallet. It's really, really obnoxious. It's wrong, and it's the reason why New York State has such a terrible reputation all over the country.
