So I hope you're in a Christmas mood.
We have a nice Christmas thing at the end of common sense tonight.
A little Karen Carpenter song, she's the best for Christmas stuff.
Two stories following Eric Adams now says he may raise taxes to pay the bills because all the money going for the migrants.
If you do, Mr. Mayor, if you raise taxes in New York City, no matter what they,
are, more people will flee.
They're angry at you already, okay, because you were a sanctuary city guy, as we explained last
night.
Now, you're going to tax people to pay this migraine horror?
No.
People are going to leave.
Big people.
Okay?
So the mayor has to know that, but it doesn't seem to be affecting him now.
roll a tape on it.
Would you raise taxes, property taxes, for the rich?
Everything is on the table.
That's what I can say.
Because remember what I'm trying to, what I want New Yorkers to understand, there's only a
finite amount of money.
And once that money dry up on a traditional source, you have to find, I'm going to be required
to balance the budget.
Yeah, but you can manage your money.
You know, this migrant thing, you should have opposed this from the beginning.
And maybe we wouldn't have this debauched.
we have now. So you got congestion pricing, 15 bucks to go into Manhattan. That's going to kill
the restaurant, small businesses, people who move, Jersey people coming in. I mean, it's crazy.
City's going down and going down fast. That's for sure. The other thing is this snuck through.
So Governor Kathy Hockel is going to sign legislation creating a commission to study reparation.
the state of New York paying blacks for slavery way back.
Now, the commission, which will be created,
and these people will get taxpayer money, doesn't have any power.
So the same thing happened in California.
They had a commission, commission came back and said,
every black person living in California should get $45,000, whatever it was.
I forget what it was.
And Governor Newsom said, okay, we're not doing it.
Again, New York State is not going to pay reparations.
Because if it did, then it's going to be like 300 people left in the state.
The state is in such serious trouble now with people moving out.
A friend of mine who is a multi-multimillionaire just moved to Florida,
packed up and boom out of here.
That's $400,000 he saved, maybe more
because the state tax he isn't at the pay.
Florida didn't have a state tax.
So reparations, you imagine this?
But to mollify the far left,
Governor who goes, yeah, oh yeah, we'll get a commission
and they'll study it.
Here's how insane this is.
Tens of thousands of New Yorkers lost their lives fighting on the side of the Union against the Confederacy to free the slaves.
Are those families entitled to reparations when they lost their ancestors?
all of those young men killed in the Civil War from New York.
How about that?
Oh, no, no, no.
Why, why, why?
You know, there was tremendous sacrifice in a Civil War on the side of the Union, the North.
Tremendous family disruption, heartbreak,
tragedy. And the soldiers who were killed. And, you know, it just goes flying them right out the
window with these equity people. So no reparations. It isn't fair. It isn't right. Nobody has
the money to do it. Far Left wants it. I don't believe it will happen. If it does,
then more people will leave the state.
