Thanksgiving Week is upon us.
Hope you've got good plans for Thursday.
You don't overdo it.
Don't get drunk.
Don't be mean.
A lot of don'ts.
Just have fun.
Just relax.
Bring it all down, you know.
Daniel Penny can't have a nice Thanksgiving.
He's the guy on trial now for allegedly killing this guy who was
threatening subway passengers. You all know about the case. The jury has the entire week off.
Penny's defense rested. So on Monday, December 2nd, a week from today, they'll have closing arguments,
and then there'll be deliberations. I don't think Penny will be convicted. I don't know how long
it's going to take for the jury to decide a lot of people go, oh, it's going to be a quick verdict,
quick decision, not guilty. I'm not sure about that. I think they'll look at forensics and they'll
look at transcripts, but I do not believe he will be convicted. I hope I am right. Now, if he is
found not guilty, and the reason I'm saying that is because there's reasonable doubt. If you're a
reasonable person and you've been following this trial, you know this reasonable doubt about how
the guy died about the circumstance surrounding it and you don't convict it's got
to be you know beyond any reasonable doubt it's not so I expect when there's
you know New York City is extremely liberal but I can't see these jurors just
throwing it all out to ruin this guy's life I hope I'm right I hope that mr.
is acquitted.
If he is Alvin Bragg, the guy, the DA, who brought the charges and he didn't have to bring
him, there's another skin color play, in my opinion, from Mr. Bragg, he's going to be under
heavy scrutiny.
And that's a good thing.
So I think this guy's really ruining the city.
I mean, boy, oh boy, is he...
And we are all over this.
We should have a verdict, I would say, latest next Wednesday, a week from this Wednesday.
Earliest would be Tuesday, you know.
The jury is off this week, as I said.
That's a good thing for Penny.
Because inevitably, the jury will discuss the case.
They shouldn't, but they will.
And I think overwhelmingly, the majority of New Yorkers want to.
penny to be acquitted. And peer pressure is big. Peer pressure is big. Now, as far as Thanksgiving
is concerned, logistically, we live in a nightmarish scenario here in the New York area, 16 million
people in the metro area. So if you're going anywhere, you've got to plan it. You've got to plan
the roots. I don't know. I don't buy this ways business and all that. It can be good, I guess,
thing. So traveling in the evening or very early in the morning, obviously that's the best.
You're going in the teeth of it on Wednesday, Thursday, prepare to be in the car a long time.
So I'll tell you a little secret what I do. It's not going to be, this probably hurt me,
but if I have to go north to New England, I take the ferry from Orient Point.
So I drive out to Orient Point, pretty drive on the north fork of Long Island.
And you make a reservation in advance.
It's an hour and 20 minutes over to New London, and you cruise.
And it's expensive a little bit, but if you consider the gas you save and the tolls, it's not that much more.
Put your car in a ferry.
They've got a nice little cafe there.
You ride across Long Island Sound.
they dump you in New London, and you go north.
It's really a good tip, particularly if you guys live in eastern Nassau or Suffolk County.
I mean, you don't want to come in.
Once you get into Queens, it's Armageddon on the roads.
Everybody knows that.
And then they got the cameras all over the place, so if you have to go off the highway onto the city streets,
you've got to get nailed because it's 25 miles an hour.
It's ridiculous.
They want to steal your money. That's what they're doing.
