Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the No Spin News, Monday, January 8th, 2024, stand up for your country. One week from today, the Iowa caucus vote, Trump will win it. Then it's on to New Hampshire and South Carolina. I think I was a little bit nebulous word of the day about New Hampshire. So it's an open primary, but if you are a Republican, you can't vote in the Democratic primary and vice versa. But what happens is that most or many people in New Hampshire are independents. And they do that because they can vote for anybody they want now.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And so my hypothesis is, and I know this to be true, a lot of money is going into New Hampshire to persuade liberal independence to vote for Nikki Haley, whereas ordinarily they'd stay home, they wouldn't vote for any Republican, but they want to embarrass, they being the Democratic Party, they want to embarrass Donald Trump in New Hampshire. That might happen. South Carolina looks like to be a Trump country, but, you know, we got a little drama here for the rest of the month, and we have Super Tuesday early March. After Super Tuesday, it pretty much over, and I do expect Donald Trump will get the next.
Starting point is 00:01:27 nomination, but it's not a lock. The Democrats agree with me. They see Trump as almost inevitable, and that is a subject of this evening's talking points memo. So I wrote a column called Here Comes the Mud. On bill o'Reilly.com, you can read it. We do new columns every Sunday. You don't have to be a member. You don't have to juggle. You don't have to do anything. What you do is go to Bill O'Reilly.com, I'm in, punch you up the column. Here comes the mud, off the Beatles' song, here comes the sun. And this is going to be the dirtiest campaign in history. I don't think it'll leave me close. And I lay out my case. So now, over the weekend, we had, you know, stuff that happens to bolster my point of view. Now remember, irresponsible rhetoric,
Starting point is 00:02:19 particularly hateful rhetoric fuels more hatred. And that's what we're looking at now. This isn't like rivalry anymore. This is really hatred on both sides. So Jim Clybourne, Congressperson of South Carolina, he's Joe Biden's big buddy. Here's what he said about Trump. Donald Trump looked at those people in Charlottesville
Starting point is 00:02:48 and said that there were good people on both sides. And those people were uttering things like Jews will not replace us. That is a religion. The AME Church, Emmanuel, that is religion. And Donald Trump has said things in support of those activities that ties him closely to what happened at Mother Emmanuel. So Clybourne is basically accusing Trump of aiding and abetting murder. So you'll remember that the church, Emmanuel, 2015, an idiot named Dylan Roof, 21 years old time serving six conservative life sentences, goes in, shoots the place up, 10 or dead, one injured, all African American.
Starting point is 00:03:41 So Lieborn is saying that Trump encouraged that, all right? Now, that number one is a lie. And number two is so grossly irresponsible, it's just staggering. Now, Clubber doesn't care. If he cared, he couldn't utter the sentence that Donald Trump said there were good people on both sides in the context of the church shooting. Because Donald Trump did say there were good people on both sides when he was talking about removing Confederate statues.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Now, I document this in the United States of Trump 50 different ways. All right, the transcript is there for you to see. He was talking about what spurred on the Charlottesville controversy was the attempt to remove Confederate statues. And Trump said there are good people on both sides opposing and supporting keeping the statute. Nothing to do with the neo-Nazis. Now, Clyburn's probably not smart enough to know that. that. But even if I presented it like I'm presenting it tonight to him, he wouldn't believe it because he doesn't want to believe it. He wants to be irresponsible and hateful, and he's
Starting point is 00:04:55 succeeding. Okay. So this is all a pattern of behavior, and I'll prove it in a minute. The second sound bite is from Congressman Benny Thompson, Mississippi. Another Trump hater. He was on a January 6th committee. You may remember him. Roll a tape on that. I think what we see right now, the president talked about it, is the mega-Republicans are at it again. They want you to believe what happened on January 6th was the equivalent of a congressional tour. They want you to believe that it really wasn't Trump people breaking into the capital. It was Black Lives Matter or Antifa dressed up as Trump people. Now, I don't know anybody who says that.
Starting point is 00:05:44 I assume there are far right nuts, cranks that put that out there, but I don't live in that zone. I live in the real world, and in the real world, I don't know anybody who said that. So I don't know where Benny Thompson is getting all of this, like Antifa dressed up as Trump people. How do Trump people dress up? I don't even know. I mean, this is just insane. But these guys, they're called spear tips. They are out there, and they are basically suggested to them that they linked Trump to the Emanuel Massacre and, of course, to January 6th.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And that's what they do. But this is just lunacy. Now, finally, who's going to believe this? Again, only people who want to believe it. And the Democratic Party has nothing else. They have to do this. And I'm going to play a Trump's, a Biden soundbite in a moment to prove it to you. They can't run on Biden's record.
Starting point is 00:06:58 They can't. It's a disaster. We have some new polling tonight as well. And that's a memo. Let's face it, the U.S. economy is under stress. national debt rising, trade war, shaking the markets, and meanwhile, China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford Gold. And you can do this. Get precious metals
Starting point is 00:07:28 delivered to your door or place in a tax advantage, gold IRA. They'll even help you roll over your existing IRA or 401k, tax and penalty-free. With billions and precious metals delivered thousands of five-star reviews and an A-plus from the Better Business Bureau, you can trust American Hartford Gold as I do. Please call 866-326-55-7576 or text bill to 99-89-89-again. And that's 866-326-5576 or text bill to 998899. Power, politics, and the people behind the headlines. I'm Miranda Devine, New York Post columnist, and the host of the brand new podcast, Podforce One. Every week, I'll sit down for candid conversations with Washington's most powerful disruptors, lawmakers,
Starting point is 00:08:29 newsmakers, and even the President of the United States. These are the leaders shaping the future of America and the world. Listen to Podforce One with me, Miranda Devine, every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. You don't want to miss an episode. So President Biden goes to Charleston, South Carolina, to talk about the massacre there in the church and blame Trump for it.
Starting point is 00:09:04 And then he goes to Dallas to pay his respects to Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson who passed away on New Year's Day. I harangued my staff this morning saying, I think he's going to do fundraisers in both South Carolina and Dallas. some kind of fundraising, all right, but we can't find it. But I'd be stunned if he doesn't.
Starting point is 00:09:36 The speech that he gave at Valley Forge on Friday night raised a million dollars for him in an hour or so, right after he gave the speech. I think that that's what this is about. Okay, awake will be held today for Congresswoman Johnson. I didn't know her, but she wasn't crazy like some of these other people. I think I really have to look into, I think she was a good woman, but I don't know. I should know, but I don't. Okay, Friday night, Biden gives a speech, and then kicks off his campaign.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Roll the first clip, please. Trump began his 2024 campaign by glorifying the failed violent insurrectionist on our capital. The guy who claims law and order, so's lawlessness and disorder. Trump's not concerned about your future, I promise you. Trump is now promising a full-scale campaign of revenge and retribution, his words, for some years to come. Okay, I don't find that objectionable. I mean, what else is Biden going to say? He doesn't have anything else.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So that's campaign rhetoric. right there. Is it hateful? I don't know if it's hateful. The two other soundbites I played you were. That is the same old stuff. Trump insurrection, Trump this. Okay. But here's the key soundbite. So David Axelrod, Barack Obama's main advisor, he's the smartest of the Democrats. Here's what he said after Biden's speech on Friday. Go. It is very important for Biden to be the attack continually in this campaign and not just about democracy, but he should hold a clear lens up against what Trump's actual record was and remind people what those years were like. Remind people of what?
Starting point is 00:11:41 1.4% inflation, below 800,000 migrants a year crossing into the USA. Prices 17% lower across the board for the essentials of life. life. What are you talking about, David? I mean, I remember what it was like in the four years of Trump, and it was a heck of a lot better than it is now, economically, overseas. What's the beef? I don't know what the beef is. But again, it doesn't matter because most people, they can't put it together. So, oh, Trump is terrible president. Trump's terrible when he was there for four years. And they go, okay. But then when you say, well, how was he terrible?
Starting point is 00:12:28 The silence. So what Axelrod basically telling Biden, and he tells him in person, too, not just on CNN. He's look, attack, attack, attack, attack. It doesn't matter if the attacks are valid or fact-based, just attack. Because you can't defend. Biden can't defend himself. It's that bad. Okay, I asked my staff to put together some January 6th stats because I still get a lot of mail, some of it from the far, far right, that disputes the January 6th situation.
Starting point is 00:13:06 More than 1,265 people have been charged by the Justice Department for federal crimes from January 6th incidents. 989 people so far have been convicted. All right, it's a pretty good conviction rate for the Justice Department. Sentenced to prison, 467 people. Most of those convicted, get house arrest, pay a fine, community service. Cases not yet tried, 276. Now, I also asked my staff, and they're very good, by the way. I mean, a young staff, but the researchers, I don't have to,
Starting point is 00:13:44 I'm not apologizing here every day for stuff that I say, okay? I said, how many people charged on January 6th are being held without bail? We can't find the number. Now, I've said this before. If you are an attorney representing someone who is being held without bail, please contact us. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com. Bill at bill o'Reilly.com.
Starting point is 00:14:12 If you know somebody who's being held without bail in your neighborhood or a family member. Let me know. Because I get the mail, all these people are being held without bail and it's a gulag. We can't find them. And you would think if they had attorneys, the attorneys would be screaming like crazy, right? I'm willing to put you on tomorrow. So let me know. Bill at Bill O'Reilly.com. Okay, poll gallop, 1,013 adults. Fair poll breakdown. Republican Democrat independent. First question, are you satisfied or dissatisfied the way democracy working in this country? Satisfied only 28%, dissatisfied 71, no opinion, 2%. That is a record low. Okay, the previous record low was February, uh, 2000, one right after January 6th, 35%.
Starting point is 00:15:17 were satisfied, 64 dissatisfied. Now it's worse than it was three years ago. The reason this is happening is because of the collapse of the criminal and civil justice systems. This is very important for you to understand. In order for a democracy to work, there has to be equal justice for all. has to be. Now we have at least 20 major cities that will not enforce the law, that allow criminals to beat you up, to shoplift, to run around. As matter what they do, they're not given bail. The criminal justice system has collapsed. They dismiss most of the cases. I mean,
Starting point is 00:16:10 you can do some really terrible things, and nothing's going to happen to you. And believe, Believe me, the criminals know it. The civil justice system, if you sue someone, you're gonna have to pay a million dollars. You have a million dollars to sue somebody? Because that's how long it'll take. Three, four years, they'll get around to it. When they get around to it, it's impossible.
Starting point is 00:16:35 If somebody sues you, okay, it's the same thing. You gotta get a defense attorney, a million dollars. can't operate that way. So that's what's driving, hey, we don't have a functioning democracy anymore. And I'll add to that that a lot of people feel the election was rigged. All right? Why do they feel that way? Because they want to feel that way.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Can't make that blanket statement with the evidence available thus far. There was fraud, Zucker Bucks, absolutely. We have been a very aggressive covering now. Hey, I'm Caitlin Becker, the host of the New York Postcast, and I've got exactly what you need to start your weekdays. Every morning, I'll bring you the stories that matter, plus the news people actually talk about, the juicy details in the worlds of politics, business, pop culture, and everything in between. Starting point is 00:17:42 Hey, it's Sean Spicer from the Sean Spicer Show podcast, reminding you to tune into my show every day to get your daily dose inside the world of politics. President Trump and his team are shaking up Washington like never before, and we're here to cover it from all size, especially on the topics the mainstream media won't. You can find it's at Apple Podcast, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, this is an amazing story. So the Secretary of Defense is named Lloyd Austin. Let's see him on a radio.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You know what he looks like. There's Lloyd. So apparently he got really sick. How to go to the intensive care unit, according to NBC News. Severe pain, according to the Associated Press. So he's in the hospital, and the commander-in-chief, President Biden, doesn't even know. for three days Biden doesn't know
Starting point is 00:18:44 his own defense secretary is in the ICU. Do you think anybody's going to get in trouble? Pentagon, hello? Commander-in-chief doesn't know defense secretaries in
Starting point is 00:19:03 ICU. I have never heard of it. It shows you the dysfunction. of the Biden administration. Immigration, CBS poll just out. 2157 adults. They wouldn't give us the party breakdown. Okay, CBS.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Question number one, do you approve or disapprove of the way Biden's handling U.S.-Mexico border? Approved 32, disproved 68, the lowest number ever on that question. 32 approved. Who are those people? All right. And then the next question is, do you think the Biden administration should be tougher on immigrants, 63%, easier, 16% handling the way things about the way they should, 21%. So 37% want easier or okay, status quo. But it doesn't make any sense, CBS, because your next question is, do you think the current situation with migrants at the U.S.-Nexico border is a crisis, 45, very serious?
Starting point is 00:20:09 but not a crisis, 30. That's 75%. So that just negates the question in front of it. 75% say it's a crisis of a very serious problem. And then what question in front of it is, 37% say it's, ah, it's no big deal. That's way over 100%. So it does it stack. And that's not unusual. In New York City, Bloomingdale's, not what it used to be. All of the retail outlets, the big stores, their lines have gone down because people can't afford to pay the outrageous prices for quality garments and things like that. So they're getting Chinese stuff in there and all that. But anyway, apparently 15 migrants bust into Manhattan attacked Bloomingdale's shortly before 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, Saturday last. And they stole sunglasses,
Starting point is 00:21:07 and stuff like that, I guess pocketbooks, it's about $6,000 worth of gear. But it was one of these mass shoplift things that we see so often. One person was arrested. Nothing happened to him. Even though he's here illegally Stephen Mattoes, 23, one person arrested. So anyway, now, why am I reporting that? I'm going to do more on our flagship, WABC, on it. all migrants aren't bad most of them are good people i've said that a million times but they
Starting point is 00:21:44 have break they have broken our immigration law there's no justification for it got to send it back but you're going to get out of 10 million foreign nationals here a million who are criminals 10 percent that's across the board joe biden hello so so so of that in Bloomingdale's. This day in history, January 8, 2023, last year. Just one year ago, this day in history, President Biden made his one and only visit to the U.S. southern border. Okay? Spent four hours in El Paso. Nobody knows what he did because he didn't hold a press conference. And then he got out of there and never went back. This is so unbelievable. I've really never seen this. And I'm a presidential historian. Maybe Herbert Hoover and maybe he didn't do
Starting point is 00:22:48 any of the Hooverville's in the Depression or something. But it's a huge problem by four hours. In three years, four hours. Okay. Let's lighten things up a little bit. I think it can only take so much, right? So our pal Bernie Goldberg, who runs bernardgolberg.com, a surging website, by the way, ever since he interviewed me, the thing has just gone through the roof. It's kind of like the Tucker Carlson thing on X. Just boom, like that. But that's all right. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:23:23 I mean, I'm here to be generous to everyone. So on bernardgolberg.com, Goldberg makes predictions for the year 2024. Okay. So I want to go over these predictions. Now, the first prediction, I got to say, is the Supreme Court will overturn Colorado and Maine to take Trump off the vote. I don't think there's one person that I've heard that doesn't think that's going to happen. Do you know anybody who doesn't think that's going to happen? I have to listen to all cable and different kinds of news operations.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Yeah, there are people on MSNBC who think there's no way the Supreme Court, if it sticks to the letter of the Constitution would vote in favor of Donald Trump. But I'm talking about real people. I'm not talking about AI. You know, the people on MSNBC, they're not real people. They're AI.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Didn't you know that? The reason I disagree with you is because the I stands for intelligence. But it's artificial intelligence, okay? But anyway, real people. I don't know anybody who thinks the Supreme Court is not going to overreact. turn this. So all right, you make the prediction. Hold on. Hold on. Okay, all right. You think I'm
Starting point is 00:24:40 going to, Yogi Berra, the great American philosopher, said making predictions are hard, especially when they're about the future. You think I'm going to go on your substantial audience show and make predictions that will come back to smack me in the mouth? Well, you did make one, though. You did make one. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey. will get engaged. I mean, come on. Now, I know you're a dating guru. I understand that. But I don't. You want to know this? Go ahead. Taylor Swift gave me a call the other day. I bet. We used to. I went out with her once. She asked me, no, she asked me out. I was in her trailer and she said, get out, Bernie. Just get out. Right. Get out and don't come back. So I don't
Starting point is 00:25:34 about Taylor Swift, and I hope they're happy. But that could go back to bite you, not that anybody really cares about it. Here's a good prediction. The Free Beacon, the Washington Free Beacon, who pretty much broke the plagiarism story about Harvard President Claudian Gay, will not win a Pulitzer. I think you're right there, but it's another safe one, right? Well, of course it's a safe one. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:26:04 Come on, Bill. I'm not going for the hard ones. You think I'm going to make a prediction? I'm not making predictions that are difficult. Yogi was running. Making predictions are hard, especially when they're about the future. How many Emmys have you won? Why do we have to talk about that? Because I have a question coming off the Emmys. How many? How many? 14. 14. 14 Emmys. Okay. So in those, you earned them. And they were hard, news Emmys, were you ever considered for a Pulitzer Prize? Well, I'm going to give you no in the way you're at, not literally, but the Columbia DuPont, of which I've won three.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Yeah, that's a pretty prestigious, right. That's the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize, because it's handed out at Columbia and the Pulitzer is handed out at Columbia, so that's as close as I got. Okay. Now, Barack Obama got a Pulitzer. Remember that? Yeah, he got a Nobel Peace Prize also, right? Yeah. I mean, he got all kinds of stuff, but he didn't do anything for it. No, that's right. I have to actually do stuff for it. Yeah, I have three Emmys, a paltry three. I'm very proud of them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:25 You're a fine journalist, and I want to make a comment about your memo when we're finished with this. Okay. One more. and then we'll get to my memo. TV news viewership will continue to decline, just as newspaper readership has gone down. Older people will still watch news on television, but no younger people. I agree. I mean, the number show that. Why? Why won't the younger people go in and watch? Well, no good reason. First of all, trust in the media has been going down for years, I would have made a prediction that the trust in mainstream
Starting point is 00:28:07 media will drop, but it can't go any lower. No, it can't go any lower. Right. But young people don't get their news from TV, and they don't watch TV at all. They don't watch regular TV. No, it's true. Their concentration spans are shot. Everything is on the phone.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Right. That's where everything is. can't sit there because their phone maybe somebody might be texting them about what color socks they're wearing so they have to deviate off and they can't the thread of the show is lost because they have to grab that but I think there's more than that I looked up my last quarter ratings when I was on Fox News and we did an average over those three months of six 600,000 viewers, 25 to 54, and more than 4 million overall at 8 o'clock. The Fox News Jerseyers are close to that.
Starting point is 00:29:15 It will never get close to it again. Now, was it just me, my sparkling blue eyes and personality? Was that what was going on? No, no. It was you and me. Oh, you were there, right. But seriously, that was only seven years ago. And now, if they do 200,000, 25 to 54, they're like dancing in the streets because younger people.
Starting point is 00:29:44 So what happened in those seven years? Was it all the smartphone? Was that all of it? I don't know if it was all of it, but it was some of it, maybe a lot of it. And the older people just don't want to do the smartphone. They want the martini, the clicker, 8 o'clock. We know Jesse Waters is on, and we're putting Jesse on. We don't want to mess around with Bill O'Reilly.com or Bernardgoldberg.com.
Starting point is 00:30:08 It's too complicated. We just want to sit and watch what we've always watched. Well, they may go on to Bill O'Reilly.com and Bernardgoldberg.com, of which I hope before we end, you'll say another nice word about. But they definitely are used to watching television. They grew up watching television in the 50s, leaving a beaver and all that. And that's what they do. I mean, all this other stuff. Listen, Bill, just between you and me and your massive audience,
Starting point is 00:30:39 a lot of this new stuff is complicated for me. You know, I don't know. Yeah, sure. Streaming, when somebody goes to me streaming, I'm going, you know, like, but Bill O'Reilly.com and Bernard Goldberg. That's easy. Don't get any easier than that. But most of my sampling comes from YouTube.
Starting point is 00:31:01 And that's where, because my demographic shift is much, much lower than cable news. We do many, many more younger people here than they do on cable news. And it's YouTube, because we have selected, we put selected things up, like tonight's Talking Points Memo, which you wanted to say something about. Yeah, I want to thank you for saying something. whether you like Donald Trump or not. I'm talking to the people in your audience. It doesn't matter whether you like them or not. But the lie that continues to persist is that he said there are good people on both sides.
Starting point is 00:31:43 You are one of the very, very few journalists who put that comment, which he did say into the proper perspective. He wasn't saying there were good neo-Nazis and other good. and people on both sides. He wasn't saying there were good people who shoot innocent black people in the head as one of the people who are good people. He didn't say anything like that. And yet, the lie continues.
Starting point is 00:32:12 And Representative Clyburn, you may be right. He may not even know that he's telling a lie, but he is. He should know, though. He is a responsibility to know. You're a sitting congressperson. You're a sitting congressperson. You have a responsibility to at least
Starting point is 00:32:28 vet what you are saying. It just bothers me, and it's bothered me for three or four years now, that this lie continues to be stated on television, and the anchor, I don't know if Jake Tapper said anything that... No, he
Starting point is 00:32:44 didn't say anything. Then they sit there like potted freaking plants and say nothing and let it happen, and it just irks me. It's horrible. And that's one of the reasons that there isn't any trust in the media.
Starting point is 00:32:59 All right, Bernardgolberg.com, a very fine service. And it's informative and entertaining, which is the cliche, the secret sauce. That's the secret sauce.
Starting point is 00:33:12 You give people information, but you make it not boring. That's what you do. And Goldberg does it. And we appreciate it, Bernie. Thank you, Phil. I'm keeping an eye on Travis and Taylor. Hold on. Hold on just a second. It's Taylor on the phone. I got to run, Bill.
Starting point is 00:33:33 I got Taylor. She's on the line, right. I know. Smart life. Okay. So there's another organization called U.S. Preventative Services Task Force. Okay. And it studies vitamins, minerals, supplements, and all of that. And the consensus is that you spend a lot of money on your vitamins and some people buy supplements and they don't do any good at all for you, okay? So a dietitian came out and said, there's no evidence to support multivitamins are effective at providing the proper nutrients at all and could be harmful in some cases. Let me sort through this smart life because about 70% of people 65 or older take the vitamins. Now, what the subterfuge is, is vitamins alone are not going to prevent your death. So if you're eating sugar and lard and salt all day long and you're pop in a vitamin
Starting point is 00:34:42 ain't going to help you. Here, you're going to die or get diabetes before you die or whatever. That's true. But if you take the vitamin in conjunction with a healthy eat, diet, it will help you. Three things in my own situation. So I'm on a run all the time. And I'm not a cook. And so sometimes I have balanced meals and sometimes I don't. So I pop the multivitamin and I take vitamin C, D as a dog, and B12 separately on the advice of my physician. So I asked her, hey, look, on my weight is okay. I'm keeping it on even 200 pounds. I'm not chubby. And I'm walking a lot with deterred dog. But I'm not eating in the optimum way because I, and it's a valid excuse. I'm just all over the place. So she said,
